Cuando Me Enamoro #48 Monday 6/27/11 Matías’ Noose Tightens, and a Day at the Beach turns into a Nightmare!

Tonight's recap courtesy of guest recapper Audrey:

Repeat from last Friday where Renata wants to go to the beach, and if Jero refuses to loan her his car, she’ll just go over to Cruz de Amor to meet Areli and she’s sure Augie will loan them his car. To Renata’s surprise and delight, Jero decides to take her himself.

As Jero is driving Renata to the beach, he can’t stop salivating over Renata’s bare thighs in her short-shorts. They start giving each other hot looks. Renata unbuckles her seatbelt and crawls over into Jero’s lap and they start making out. Jero’s not looking where he is driving anymore! Oops! Turns out it’s just Jero’s fantasy - Renata is still in her seat looking out the window, but Jero is so distracted he almost runs the car off the road, barely missing a tree and startling Renata. [I thought this was pretty cute - those writers really fooled us, didn’t they! LOL!] Renata, concerned, asks if Jero wants her to drive. Jero says he was just a little distracted [like, yeah! Obvio!].

Back at Cruz de Amor, Agustín is leading Areli into his office followed by Ezequiel. He’s talking about this year’s vendimia (grape harvest) and that Jero will have to deliver him the harvest from La Bonita. He wants this year’s party to be unforgettable. Areli is all excited and wants to know what the festival is like — this is where there is a blessing, and the women stomp on the grapes, right? Agustín is going to order traditional costumes as gifts for all the women attending his party.

Selene is at the club hitting on Chema again. He is refusing to attend a dinner with her because he is going out of town to visit some orchards. And he won’t invite her to go with him either. She gets the name of the orchard though.

Honorio and Blanca are at some port checking out the boat she selected. Honorio is impressed with how Blanca has everything under control. Blanca wants Honorio to have no doubts that hiring her was his best choice.

At the hospital with Roberta, Fina and Gonzo, the doctor has released Roberta. Fina is fuming because Matías didn’t come personally to “assume his responsibilities”. Fina declares that Matías has recognized his baby, but he hasn’t assumed his responsibility towards their daughter. She demands that Gonzo make Matías marry Roberta. Gonzo asks how can he demand that! They’re not in love! Gonzo asks Roberta if that’s what she wants. Roberta tells Daddy that she loves Matías, and she knows she can make him happy! He’s the only man she wants to share her life with!

Regina is lamenting to Inéz that last night’s sleep was disturbed. She couldn’t stop thinking of the kiss with Gonzo! She can’t keep being dishonest with Antonio. She is going to break the engagement: not to be with Gonzo, but because Antonio doesn’t deserve that she thinks of another man [you go girl!]. Gonzo owns her heart! Inéz thinks it a pity Regina didn’t fall in love with Antonio, but she supports that Regina follow her heart. Regina and Inéz are alarmed when Antonio walks right in carrying flowers.

Areli comes to La Bonita looking for Renata. Carlos tells her that Renata and Jero went to the beach. Areli acts surprised considering last night (the dinner) they seemed a bit disgruntled with each other but, well, being newlyweds, it’s logical they would reconcile quickly. She asks Carlos to tell Renata to please come visit her. Carlos looks confused.

Antonio presents the flowers to Regina, and says he must have interrupted an important chat. Inez volunteers it was things about the center and tries to excuse herself. Antonio announces to both of them that he wants to make an invitation for this weekend. He is doing a special viewing (closed to the public) bull fight in honor of Regina, to “demonstrate his love”. [OK - this is kind of gross. I can think of many gestures I would rather have than my own personal bullfighting demonstration. This guy is clearly not able to see outside his own point of view]. Regina does not look at all thrilled about this.

Back at the port, Blanca and Honorio are getting a in depth tour of the boat. [Lord Almighty, Honorio, that is one ugly striped Polo shirt your are wearing - ouch!]

Constanza and Chema at the center are cooking again [heh, heh!]! Constanza raves about the touch of mango in the sauce. She says she never expected to find such a good friend at the center. Chema asks her if she’s going to come with him to visit the orchards. [Don’t know about that head scratching, Chema, it kind of makes you look like an ape]. Constanza is not sure - she thinks it’s something for younger people to do. Chema teases her for acting like she’s too old and asks “why stay here alone?” Constanza agrees to go with him.

Antonio tells Regina that he’s going to do his best “faena*” for her. He wants her to feel like the most loved woman in this world. [Geez Louise! This guy is such a dense-brain if he thinks his performance in a bullfight will make a woman feel loved. It should be about what she enjoys watching, not what you want to show off, idiot. I’m just sick of this guy force-feeding romance on his terms. So NOT romantic!] Regina doesn’t know what to say about this “act of love”, but she’s got something really important to tell him. Antonio stalls her — he wants her to wait until after his “event”, as he really can’t concentrate on anything else at the moment. [Yeah, dude - it’s all about you!]. Of course, Regina being polite and accommodating, agrees. But Regina is very upset after he leaves. She yet again fantasizes about the kiss with Gonzo.

Blanca says that she learned everything about shipping from her father since she was a little girl. Then she thinks back to when she was studying about shipping on the internet. Honorio would like to thank her father for all that he taught her and that she has shared with him. Her parents died in a car accident, Blanca tells him. Honorio continues to be impressed with Blanca and her philosophy of life. Blanca believes in going after whatever makes one happy and not worry about what others think. She thinks you should live life without the compromises of any relationship. Honorio is not quite so sure about that point of view. Blanca declares that her only desire is to live life to the max!

Kari is walking the grounds of La Bonita and finds a rose and note from Lazaro. Oh how sweet - it says “They say the flowers have not stopped singing your name”.

Renata and Jero are walking on the beach. They snipe at each other a little, and Renata reminds Jero ,when he jealously complains that she has more in common with Agustín, that she married him. Maybe if she were the wife of Dunant, she and Jero would get along better, suggests Renata. “ What an ugly thing to say!” grumbles Jero. Renata reminisces about visiting the ocean when she was a little girl. They play on the beach and start acting like newlyweds again.

Lazaro meets Kari holding her rose. By any chance is she looking for mint (hierba buena)? “Yes, how did you know?” “Since I remember, you have always prepared mint tea.” Kari thanks him for the rose. He doesn’t need to trouble himself, but he tells her he is watching over her. Kari asks Laz not to expect anything. Lazaro lets her know there has never been any other woman for him, and having her here is making him the happiest man in the world. Romance by the agave garden! Their theme is nice song sung by Juan Luis Guerra.

Gonzo has delivered Fina and Roberta home. Gonzo is still asking if Roberta is sure marriage is what she wants? Fina bites his head off about it being the “right thing”, and if the baby’s father weren’t his son she’s sure he would have forced the marriage. “You committed to watch over Roberta and give her her place in the family and society when you adopted her!”

Adriana breaks up with Matías. She doesn’t see how they can attempt a relationship under these circumstances. If she doesn’t break with him now, she’ll lose respect for herself. She’s worried about ending up empty. Matías doesn’t quite get it (giving up trying for something), but we all know Adriana is right [without skin of the jocoque as her mother said].

The doc is plastered! He comes yelling at La Bonita for Karina. The ladies are in the kitchen “platicando”. Oh no, here comes the yelling doc, he’s putting on quite a drunken raving lunatic show! Lazaro is ready to physically throw him out, held back by Carlos. Dr. Rapeysnake is very ugly and threatening to everybody. Kari doesn’t care if he leaves her with nothing, she’s not coming back. Carlos tells him to beat it. He does!

Renata and Jero are sitting on the beach chatting about whether they are seeing dolphins in the ocean. Jero says it’s time to go home, but Renata doesn’t understand why — she’s not ready to go yet! Why does Jeronimo have to work when she could be with the sea, the sun, and her? A couple of guys show up with ATVs. Renata wants to ride them! Jero, being the aguafiestas that he is, absolutely doesn’t want to play — he wants to return home and work. Renata complains that he is always saying no, he never wants to do anything. “Hey, big guy, for once, tell me yes!” She teases him into saying yes — especially when the guys offer two for the price of one. Renata challenges Jero to a race. Whoever wins gets to ask the other for whatever they want, and the other has to comply. This challenge gets Jero interested. After some good competitive trash talking they take off on the ATVs.

Gonzo tells Matías that Fina demands he accept his responsibilities by marrying Roberta. Since he is parents of both, Gonzo has really conflicting feelings about this, as he has to deal with both parties.

And their off racing their ATV’s on the beach! Suprise! Renata jumps the gun! LOL! They go turning and spinning all over the place, even starting to show off all sorts of tricks and acrobatics. [Uh - what kind of race is this with turning around at various random points and no marked track?] They reach some rocks and Renata declares herself the indisputable winner. Jero claims it was a trap, but he is laughing because he really did enjoy himself. Renata tells Jero now he has to pay the bet! “Let’s see - what is the bet going to be?” asks Jero. “You can’t figure it out?” asks Renata. “No, I can’t figure it out. What will it be?” answers Renata. “You’re going to have to make love to me” says Renata as she looks at Jero seductively. Jerko does not like this turn of events. He goes from a big smile to upset face.

Back in Gonzo’s office, Matías complains that it would be a loveless marriage. Gonzo counters that the marriage would be for the child to not have the disadvantages of being born outside of marriage. Gonzo insists that to protect Roberta, Fina and the child from society scandal and loss of respect in the “machista” society that they live in, Matias must marry Roberta. Gonzo reminisces about how women get the short end of the stick, and how often mothers and children are abandoned by the father, like what happened to Roberta and Fina. Gonzo recognizes that Matías would never do that, but when the baby is born, he wants him born with all the advantages of legitimate birth.

Back to Jero’s frowning face. Jerko doesn’t want to make love at the beach - someone might see them. OK - fine, let’s go so some cabin or hotel or somewhere we can have privacy” answers Renata. “No I can’t nor do I want to in any place.” grouses Jerko. “Yes you can and you want to! Maybe being away from La Bonita you’ll feel better about making love.” says Renata, exasperated. Jerko is really unhappy. “Don’t make those faces at me!” demands Renata. “This relationship is not going well. Help me rescue it, OK? Since the wedding you never kiss me, hug me, nothing.” complains Renata. “Change the bet! change the bet!” yells Jerko. “No, I’m not going to change it.” repsonds Renata. She begs Jero to make love to her. “Don’t be pigheaded (necia)!” says Jerko. “No. For any newly wed man, what I’m asking you would be considered normal, logical.” answers Renata. “You don’t want to? Fine, you don’t want to. This is the last time I am going to ask you, Jeronimo. I’m not going to humble myself in front of you any more. You’re never going to see me again in your life!” And Renata takes off on her ATV.

Agustín finds Areli drinking juice by the pool at Cruz de Amor. He wants to know if Areli found Renata at La Bonita, and did she return Jero’s shirt? “No - I’ll take it another day. Renata went to the beach with her husband! “ says Areli smugly. This makes Agustín walk off in a huff.

Apparently Kari has be telling Lazaro and Matilde about her mistreatment at the hands of Dr. Rapeysnake. Lazaro wants to know how long this has been going on. He is beside himself about the situation. Matilde brings Karina some tea. “And I thought your life with him had been like that of a queen!” says Matilde. “That’s what that ba$t@rd wants everyone to think” says Lazaro. Lazaro declares he’s going to make sure everyone knows the truth. Karina asks them not to do so. “Let life take care of putting him in his place, not us”.

Renata returns her ATV to the guys on the beach and gets her stuff. She tells them she supposes that the “señor” will pay them, and she leaves.

Karina apologizes to Carlos that Dr. Rapeysnake created such a scene at La Bonita. Each time he seems less able to control his alcoholism. Carlos asks “Since when has Doc been drinking this way?” Kari tells him - since Rafael died. Doc took Rafael’s death so hard that he hasn’t been the same since. “Why?” asks Carlos. “Alvaro feels he could have done more for Rafael. Maybe he could have saved him. He feels responsible, guilty even.” Carlos asks where Alvaro was the day of Rafael’s death. “At Don Agustin’s.” He had been invited to dine and didn’t return to his office. His nurse couldn’t reach him. Karina thinks that Alvaro feels that if he could have arrived in time, maybe he would have saved Rafael’s life. Was Alvaro drinking at Agustín’s that day? asks Carlos. Did he attend Rafael intoxicated — is that why he feels guilty? Is he trying to atone for his fault through alchohol? “Could be, Don Carlos, but I really don’t know.” answers Karina.

Jero returns on his ATV. Where’s the lady? She left and said nothing say the ATV guys. Jero goes racing after on the ATV while the guy yells after him.

Renata is driving Jero’s car back from the beach. She’s crying. [And what is that ballad of broken love? Anyone know it?]

Ewww - Dr RS is drinking again. He starts to trash his house! Now he’s crying into his bottle. [ Why don’t we feel sorry for him? What a disgusting, pathetic Rapey-Snake!]

Jero makes it home driving the ATV and runs inside the house calling for Renata. Matilde hasn’t seen her. Oh if she’s not here - she must be with her friend “Don Agustín el guapo!” declares Matilde. Jero leaves in disgust.

El Guapo himself is walking his vineyards with Ezequiel. “Is everything ready for the wine harvest?” Agustín is going into town to pick up his invitations, and he has a very special one for Renata. He wants her to do him the honor of being the first to tread on the grapes that were Jeronimo’s and are now his!

Agustín and Areli are walking out of Cruz de Amor when Jero drives up. Renata isn’t there, Areli tells him. “Wasn’t she at the beach with you?” asks Agustín. “Yes, but she left in my jeep and she hasn’t returned to La Bonita” answers Jero. “Are you and Renata fighting again?” asks Areli. Agustín tells her not to ask such a stupid thing. It’s obvious they were fighting since they went to the beach together but she returned alone. “It must have been a bad quarrel, right?” Jero drives off.

Oh no! Renata had a bad wreck! The car is upside down and she is half out the door with bleeding from her nose and mouth! She was so upset driving, that when another car honked at her, she swerved off the road! She’s lying there, half choking, barely conscious, weakly calling for help. This looks really bad!

Previews - Both haciendas organize a massive search for the missing Renata. Jero is devastated.

Audrey- You are an amazing recapper. Thank you for getting this up so fast.

Man oh man, Jero ticked me off. Things were going so well at the beach. I actually think it wasn't just distraction. Nata looked like she was having a heart incident when she swerved in front of that car. Meaning that Jero is breaking her heart both figuratively and literally! Ugh!

Love Laz and Kari. She needs to get a divorce pronto (I don't care what the priest says) and jump into Laz's strong arms.

We know Nata can die, but she did look really bad. I hope they find her soon. Glad that Jero is suffering because she's missing though.

Sorry, meant to say we know Nata CAN'T die...

Thanks to Sylvia for being available to post it the moment I emailed it to her! Wow!

I did most of it ahead of time - a nice benefit of a weekend without TNs. Thing are getting really busy around here. We're trying to head out a week from today, and there is still so much to do!

Audrey

Audrey, I know you are in the midst of preparing for a road trip so thank you for being the guest recapper tonight. You're right, a lot of things happened tonight, definitely not a dull episode.

Jero's fantasy totally fooled me. I like how he even had Nata's shapely rear honk his car's horn. Now that's a guy who has a very detailed fantasy!

Blanca has everything under control except teetering around the boat in her high heels.

I couldn't decide whether I hated Honorio's striped shirt or loved it.

We've identified the broken love ballad as being "¿Qué nos está pasando?" by Manuel Carrasco.

Somehow Doc Rapey Snake just doesn't look that threatening in his white leisure suit. Egad he's a creep.

Oh no! Renata really got into a terrible accident. It looked like she was having a heart attack or something. Is she going to be out there all night? Bleeding from her nose and mouth is not good.

Audrey, I enjoyed your Antonio rants. Poor guy is trying very hard but he is a bit clueless. Can't he tell that Regina is just not that excited about his plans?

Audrey, thanks for the wonderful recap, vocabulary and bullfighting link. Do we think Antonio will have a percance and get himself cornada?

Vivi, I didn't see your comment when I posted. I see we both thought Renata was having some sort of heart episode, poor thing. I like your comment that Jero is breaking her heart both literally and figuratively. He's such a jerk!

I like Augustin's idea for his party but I have a hard time believing he would actually let people stomp on the grapes he intends to use for his award-winning wine. Ah well, this is make-believe so have at it Augi.

Audrey, thanks again for doing the recap. I can only imagine how busy you are. I hope you can check in with us from time to time when you are on your trip.

Oh don't worry! I may not be able to catch some of the episodes on TV or have the high-speed internet connection to watch them on-line, but I'll be reading the recaps and comments every day! I'm hooked!

I'm certainly ready for Antonio to have a percance in the ring! LOL! [You made me look it up!]

Audrey

Splendid, Audrey. Great recap and excellent long list of vocabulary, with a link even!

I totally agree with your thoughts on the bullfight, but you said it better than I would have. Antonio is so self-absorbed he doesn't remotely see that the romance he's trying to force isn't hitting its target. Also, what kind of idiot says to wait a few days so he can focus on something else when the one he supposedly loves says she has something important to tell him? Wouldn't that just make him spend the time wondering what it was she was going to say? Oh, not at all, because he isn't really interested in anything she has to say. That right there would be reason enough to dump him.

How long is poor Renata going to lie there bleeding?! That driver she swerved around didn't stop to help? They didn't even make an anonymous call to emergency services?! Jerks.

I love how you can see Laz fuming and seething even when he isn't moving much. He seems inclined to pound Dr. Death even though Kari asked him not to, but I hope he channels that energy into getting her a lawyer instead. At least now she has an army of witnesses to her wicked husband's abusive rage.

Audrey, you rock! A fantastic recap with an extensive vocabulary list. Gracias. Have a great trip!

Jero, Jero, Jero. His fantasy fooled me completely. Too bad he didn't do anything to make the fantasy into a reality. When Nata said she was through with his rejection, I believed her. Pobrecita has a (literal) broken heart and probably lots of other broken things too now! Fingers crossed that they find her quickly. Nata is the last person who deserves more pain and suffering. Jero, on the other hand, needs to agonize for awhile about how he's been treating her.

"Que nos esta pasando?" never fails to make me misty-eyed. Gosh that song just hits me where it hurts. That tune playing combined with Nata's accident sent me over the edge. Err..no pun intended.

I agree with you hands down about Honorio's shirt, Audrey. He's usually a pretty sharp dresser but in this case: say no to the stripes, man.

I'm counting the days until Doc's liver flops over like a dead fish and relieves us of having to deal with this goon. Que horror!

The ax hanging over Antonio's head just keeps slipping closer and closer. He is a decent guy but he's going about this the wrong way. Pressuring Regi will not yield a healthy relationship between them. This bullfight has disaster written all over it.

Amy

Audrey, I echo everyone's sentiments. This was great, and the vocabulary list! And getting ready for a trip...Wow!

I agree with you whole-heartedly about Antonio and the bullfighting. And he didn't in the least pay attention to the fact that Gina had something to say or seemed not her usual self. Another notch in my "don't like you" belt.

So Matias' plan has back-fired big time. Will he cave to a wedding or admist he lied about the bebe? Will Nata's accident change thins up on this plot line too?

Nata's accident was such a surprise(thank you preview guys - makes the impact so much better)and let's hope this makes Jeers feel oh so very guilty. This has to be a game-changer of some kind - but how...can't wait to find out.

Audrey! Thank you!! Not finished yet - off to work but am big time enjoying the recap so far. This piece is full of stalkers: Selene, Blanca, Antonoio (in his loving way). . .sheesh! "I love you so much baby, ahma kill a bull for you!" I'm with you, Audrey, doesn't exactly get my hormones flowing. And Blanca, why don't you show you're the best for the job by staying ON the job, not breathlessly begging to accompany the boss and then spewing your home-wrecking, selfish philosophy of cualquieridad...uuuuuf! Can't stand this heffa!

Can't wait to read the rest, not sure if Renata was wanting Jero to "take her" right there on the beach. If so, this weakens her stance as wounded wife for me at least. How can she expect him to make love to her under the bright sunshine when he wouldn't even do so on the second night of thier marriage in the privacy of their marital bed? Que the hell?! But they made up for it by wounding her later. Thanks Audrey!

Lila

Home-wrecking, selfish philosophy of cualqueridad! ROTFLOL! You nailed it there Lila! Good one.

Audrey

Excellent recap...Audrey you are a natural.

Oh no! Are we heading for coma and memory lapse.

Good for Renata bolting, enough is enough.

The writers would be highly taxed to go on another 60 Capitulos with the snipping between Renata and Jero, and I'm not sure I could have watched it.

Boy, when they find Renata poor Fina is going to have to do her motherly duties...oh, this ought to be good, Fina making pretend nice to Renata.

A in Baraboo

Great job Audry. What a complete vocabulary list as well... wow!

I guess I won't be trying to find a striped knit polo shirt like Honorio was wearing. I thought it looked very stylish and sporty. Maybe that's why the Lovely Linda prefers that I leave the purchasing of my shirts to her... and I thought she was just being sweet.

Lila, I'm guessing at this point, Renata is ready to have sex with her new husband just about anytime... anywhere.

Poor Matias, he is so screwed.

I was so hoping that they would have turned Matilde loose on the Dr. Now that would have been fun.

So what's it gonna be for Renata? Coma? Paralysis? Amnesia? Whiplash?

Whatever, I look for Agustin to be very attentive.

Carlos

Lila, nice rant amiga! That was world class and bears remembering.

I thought Renata was being very resourceful by suggesting a public place for some fun. Remember, she doesn't really know Jero's tastes yet, he could be one of those folks that digs the danger of possibly being caught. Oh well, guess it didn't work out like she hoped but I give her points for trying.

Boy did they ever fool us -- both with the fanatasy (there's an appropriate misspelling!) -- and with the accident which was so unexpected & so NOT in the previews. I did have a fear for Renata when I saw the doc getting trashed in the middle of the day. "Oh no!" I thought "not another too drunk to operate occasion!!" No way Auggie is going to let him touch Renata though.

Ditto ditto ditto --all the comments about Blanca, Antonio & Dr. Rapeysnake. How clueless can Antonio be?

We could be in for quite a few life hanging in the balance scenes and sad sighing faces at bedside & in the hospital chapels.--Renata, little Andres and quite possibly Antonio.

Audrey, thanks so much for a quick and thorough recap. Your vocab list is superb. Hope the road trip is wonderful.

Great title, awesome vocabulary (above and beyond, my friend) and the phrase "force feeding romance on his terms" was a winner.

Deftly written and I appreciate you doing the extra research on "faena". That one blew right by me. Perhaps because I go into a coma myself whenever Antonio comes on the scene (sorry Bonnie Churros...I know you like him).

Really enjoyed the writers pulling a fast one on us with the car make-out fantasy. Well done. And who can do suffering better than Silvia Navarro? Those weak, desperate "ayudas" were tearing my heart out. And sure 'nough, her inherited heart defect, triggered by the stress of Jeronimo's rejection, is in attack mode.

Action is getting hot and heavy in this one, but wish it were a little more on the romance side rather than the tragic. Ah well...miles to go before we reap.

Audry...thanks so much. And enjoy your trip and taste lots of lovely wine for us, amiga.

Audrey--gracias, I could never do what you did for us and get ready for a trip at the same time.

Here sits another fooled by the fantasy. I should have known something was not quite right with Nata sliding over and neither of them had safety belts on and in the non-fantasy they were securely belted in.

Blanca must have something else on her mind. Hon is a good guy, but he lacks something, IMO...sex appeal He may have had it at one time, but he's a comfortably married man and hasn't put himself out there to be attractive to anyone but Connie. Maybe that's the point of the striped t-shirt.

The vendimia is approaching. Unless it is another fantasy (or another year), we see Nata participating, so her accident just can't provoke paralysis or too many broken bones. Temporary amnesia seems most likely if we have to go that route.

So Jero is beside himself over Nata's disappearance? He brought it on himself, el tonto. If he is so distraught over her accident once they find her, will she even notice? He's managed to hide his feelings exceptionally well.

Loved how Areli and Augustin needled Jero over his matrimonio. Jero didn't stay around to defend himself. Bingo! They are 100% onto him.

Audrey--before you go, please stick an "l" in your vocabulary word inolvidable. We know what you meant--but for posterity's sake.
NOK

Oooo! Looks like a little fairy already snuck in there and fixed it. Thanks much!

Audrey

Thanks NOK, I fixed 'inolvidable'.

I'm guessing the blissfully happy grape stomping we see in the intro is another year. (Or another fantasy) Roberta is included in the group of lovelies and I just don't see her showing up for this year's party.

Yep, pretty funny how both Arely and Augustin gave Jero a hard time. They both (A&A) are now interested in Jero and Renata for their own reasons.

I've always found it hard to believe there's only one doctor in that town, but...how far is it to the next town? Real hospital? Please, anyone but Dr. Rapeysnake for poor Renata.

Since Renata's heart condition seemed to be a factor in her wreck, I'm hoping a competent doctor will diagnose it...and maybe Jero will mention it to his dear friend Regina.

Is Gonzo ever going to get suspicious that Fina is only "sick" when it's convenient for her? Will he notice that she isn't actually dying? I wish she actually would get a tumor.

I half suspect that Fina's punishment will be to actually get a brain tumor. Then we can go through one of those "but I really DO have a brain tumor (now)" scenarios.

Audrey

One would hope that by now everyone knows what a loser the Doc is and not get her anywhere near our Nata. And like you said, Guera, Augie of all people would not want that.

Agree with you all that Jeers may get his light-bulb to go on regarding Nata and how much he really cares for her. Too little too late? - I don't see our girl jumping back into his waiting arms just because she got hurt. Personally, I'd like him to stew in his own juices for awhile. If he hadn't been treating her like dirt, she wouldn't have gotten in the accident. I just worry she'll start moving towards Augie instead...ah, the tangle web...

I could easily see Renata moving toward Augie. Unlike us, she hasn't seen the bad things he's done. He can really turn on the charm and that's all she's seen so far. I know I would be tempted.

Julia, they seem to be close to Ensenada and surely there is a hospital and many doctors there. You know how these shows are though, one disco, one doctor, one of everything.

Lunch break yaaaayyy!! Audrey, girl, thou art mahvelous! I could actually get fluent with vocab lists like this! Ayyy! Pobrecita de Renata! Yes! It IS her heart! Does anybody even know she has a heart condition? I don't think so -- that "muther" of hers lied about which girl was sick and I think, never got Renata any medical attention. Since Renata is already dead to the wretched Fina, I can't imagine her even faking concern. . .she'll probably stage an attack or have Roberta feign one. Words cannot express the contempt I feel for Fina and Berta! Will Gonzo go to Renata's side or accept the puppet mistress's hand up his backside once again? Renata's crisis should provoke some deep thoughts and revelations! (word verification "funnale" - NOT)

Nata's accident could change the game in many ways...
Jero could change his mind about the revenge or just tell it to Nata straight...
Nata could think this was intentional on Jero or that it was his intent (remember he almost killed them both on their way to the beach)
The Monterrubios will definitely realize Nata did not end up at the 'paradise' they thought she did... and including Matias who might back up on his commitment to Roberta...
the inherited heart condition could make Jero care for her personally and this could soften Nata up again.
Augie or his girlfriend could say something to compromise Jero.
Carlos could 'have enough' and tell all to Nata himself...
who knows... even Roberta could snap and tell everyone that Jero was the daddy... (paternity tests would not rule out Jero completely since he is the half uncle anyways)

Oooooo yeah! The possibilities! I would just love if Jerko would turn down the jerk factor. . .let's have this poor girl be shown some love by somebody, please. . .like maybe her husband! We need some passion here, Laz? and some tenderness, Jerko, want to redeem your galan-hood? (Sorry if this posts twice, blogger actin' weird).

Thanks all for the info on Augustin, the actor. He's adorable when he's not being all evil and stuff.

Godd thing Augustin is there to take care of Renata (in a super secret location that no one finds until the end, and she doesn't tell because she has amnesia or something), because Jero will be in jail for stealing the ATV.

Kellly--I'm worried about the ATV, too. If this were Alborada, the patrones would eventually pay the folks who loaned Vicente the mula. I hope this is the case here. Those beach boys need the money AND their vehicle back.

I forgot completely about the heart defect. That's going to be it!

Both girls have it and Fina was surprised when she found out Berta had it, too. She had pretended from the time they were little that it was Roberta and everyone had to tip-toe around her because she was weak.

She denied Nata medical care, hoping it would send her far, far away to the next world and leave only Berta to inherit from both Roberto and Gonzo.

Hello Caray Gang!!! I’ve missed you all. Well, I gave up on trying to catch the eps up before commenting (I’m behind about 14)—where I left off (until last night), Jero had decided not to sell the hacienda, he and Ren had a romantic dinner with the theme song boys, and Honor had just met his “downfall”.

So I waited months for this new SN novela, checking the schedule on a regular basis. The ONE time I missed checking for a couple of weeks and they sneaked in nine eps before I realized. The ever awesome Caray recappers and commentors caught me up, but between trying to get through a Babylon 5 watching project and my other regular shows, including DAYS, I just watched a little bit of CME each evening to see if I wanted to invest in it. It only took an ep and a half to get hooked, but by that time I was several eps behind. They’re all recorded so I’ll get them watched eventually.

This is my first TN without FC. That was kind of strange. OT: I’m sure you all have discussed this in recaps/comments I’ve yet to read, but can anyone tell me if there is any new updates on the possible FC/Luc/SN/Estrada TN?

Now on to last night’s ep.

Not surprised to see H with what’s Blanca. Looks like I missed Mat and Adri moving to the next level. I missed Gonzo kissing Regi?!!!! Can’t wait to see that. What’s up with Jero and Ren? No kissing—though she tried hard enough.

Just read the recap. I thought Jero and Ren were married because he referred to her to the ATV guy as Senora and I saw her wearing a ring. Whew!!! I missed something big there. Daisynjay: So Matt had a plan? Extra glad I didn’t delete those unwatched eps.

I was thinking the same thing about Antonio re: perhaps getting killed in the bullfight. Probably, he’ll get permanently disabled and Regi will feel to bad to leave him.

Carlos: I have a confession. I kinda liked Hon’s shirt.

Hi Robey, welcome back. Thanks for the support. I've certainly worn worse looking shirts.

Martaivett, the DNA testing would definitively rule out Jerry as Roberta's son's father. It will show that the baby's father and Jerry have the same mother.

Carlos

Carlos: Thanks.

And Audrey: I forgot to tell you how great your recap was.

Welcome back Robey. I'm glad you checked back in with us. It's hard to play catch-up, isn't it?

This is your first TN without Fernando Colunga? I fear our galan in this one will be a huge disappointment. The heroine, however, is first rate as you know. Thank goodness for SN!!

Hey all, back from the dentist. Have to go back tomorrow to replace an old loose filling. But my reward is coming back to these great comments.

My dad would totally wear Hon's shirt. To me it spoke middle aged man. I had no problem with it. I was glad to see that Hon was in no way responding to Blanca's flirting (unlike Con, who DOES flirt with Chema, although innocently). He was not in agreement with her life philosophy of anything goes, no commitments, etc. Does Blanca remind anyone else of an older Salma Hayek?

Welcome back Robey! Yes, a lot has happened in the past few weeks. Nata married Jero and moved to the hacienda; Agatha died; Hon was revealed to be Adri's dad to all; Matias took responsibility as Berta's baby-daddy (he thinks it's Jero and that only he and Berta know the truth-- but it's all a Fina plan); Fina is pretending to have a terminal brain tumor; Gonzo and Regina kissed; the Doc raped Kari; and Matias and Adri tried to have a relationship. And many more things. Wow! A lot has happened.

Although Aggie is dead, it's so nice to see her words to Nata and Adri have lived on. Both ladies were going for self preservation over trying to continue in a doomed romance last night. Viva el jocoque!

Sorry i'm late to this party but great work from all of the recappers and i have caught up with all of the recaps.

Vivi i can't believe that Blanca is the actress who played Delfina in Mi Pecado?

I see some other familiars actors from that show Roberta who played Renata in MP and Selene the stalker who played Blanca in MP by the way Mi Pecado is being shown on Telefutura at 9 am in the morning i find that interesting since it just ended last year?

Vivi think it was you who bought up these are the same writers from ENDA and Mi Pecado so for those who don't like abusive storylines it's going to be a long summer of this. The writers are good but just a little heavy handed with the way they present abuse in their dramas.

Yes this can go several ways but Jerko's attitude is playing right into what the Monterubbio's think of him as a jerk not deserving of Renata.

Once Regina discovers Renata is her long lost daughter she definitely won't want him for her daughter.

I see both spare girl and Auggie using the bickering between Renata and Jerko to their advantages. But someone will eventually come clean about the carving on the tree probably spare girl can't see Auggie doing this or he just might saying that Jerko thought she was the woman who his brother fell in love with and died over to break them up and it will explain his behavior to Renata causing her to end it for good with Jerko.

Alfosina i can see how she might also play into Jerko's marriage of gossiping about Renata if she sees her in the company of Auggie she has a guilty conscience of being with Dr. Rapeyshake so she needs to excuse away her actions by pointing out maybe the infidelity of Renata to others.

Diego is eventually going to come back again and possibly expose Roberta.

Trouble times ahead for Hon and Con's marriage and with the evil bobbsy twins trying to hurt and get even with Con doesn't bode well for them.

Don't blame Adriana for breaking it off with Matias at this point hope she doesn't fall for Daniel.

Gonzo disappointed me with suggesting Matias marry Roberta does he even think before she was all over Jerko and upset he is with Renata now she is supposedly in love with Matias? Now if he was smart he should has asked the Dr. how far along is she in her pregnancy that would give him a clue that the father is not Matias.

Well... Late on parade as usual, but:

- Audrey, bless your heart, what a great recap! The others estan correcto, you're a natural.

- I wanted to give Renata a stern safety lecture for riding the ATV with the long, loose scarf that could have blown on to a turning wheel or axle. Besides, why wear a scarf to the beach?

- Honorio likes Serape by Ralph Lauren. I guess.

Love Sylvia Navarro i don't know if it's the scripts she is choosing or the writers write her part like this but once again i am enjoying her performance of showing a strong intelligent independent young woman who doesn't always cry in a corner non stop wailing woe is me life is so unfair to me boo hoo how ever will i cope?

Sylvia: yes, I do miss FC. I was bummed when I found out they were showing Alborada again. I really wanted to see that one, but can only committ to one TN and I've been waiting forever for SN's new one.

Vivi: thanks so much for the updates. I figured the doc must have raped Kari when Audrey kept calling him Rapeysnake.

Here's hoping there will be a new FC/Luc/SN TN down the road and I've gotten the impression from a lot of the commenters that Estrada is a pretty good producer.

Robey

Blusa, currently Regina thinks the world of Jeronimo. In fact she helped persuade Nata that she should go through with the wedding because Jero is such a great guy. On the other hand, if she gets an inkling of what a jerk he has become perhaps she will change her mind.

I'm afraid Blanca the stalker will make Honorio feel less of a fuddy duddy and more like a youngun' again. Drat.

Yep, Gonzo should know better than to force his son into a loveless marriage.

HI Mike!!! You're back!!

OK, I had to look up Serape by Ralph Lauren. Yep, I think that's it. Admit it Mike, you've got a polo shirt like Honorio, don't you??

Sylvia, I only wear John Deere by Ralph Lauren! ;-)

Mike, you have introduced me to a world I never knew existed.

You oughta see him in his Li'l Abner Motel tee shirt - from Natural Bridge, KY. We stayed there in April...

Emilia, I'm sure it's a real fashion statement...of some sort.
