MI CORAZÓN INSISTE - VIERNES

I'm really liking the actor portraying Rodrigo. My only complaint is lo mío de siempre. I wish he'd shave. I like beards. Hate stubble.

Anyway, Rodrigo basically kidnapped Andrés, in handcuffs, and showed him the reasons and told him the reasons Lola chose to marry Rugeles. And, after all, she believed him dead.

Andrés finally sees the light.

Debora is caught by Marcelo gloating over Laura's jewels. He tries to blackmail her into continuing to have sex with him while married to Andrés, but she is not intimidated and blackmails him right back.

Dr. D gets Lola and Etelfina out of the house to pray for his recovery so that he can have the rest of the spy cameras installed. Unfortunately for him he's too cheap to put them outside. Andrés comes to apologize to Lola and to tell her it's not too late to get out of their respective marriages and be together. Because of Rugeles' strategy in feigning serious illness, Lola feels she must stay with him. Plus, she hasn't forgiven Andrés for how cruel he was before.

The will is read, giving Andrés and Sofía the real control in the family business. Andrés tells them all he's going to have the finances of the business audited. He calls a board meeting for in the morning. Looks like he's taking no crap whatsoever from Marcelo. During this meeting, Debora calls him, standing in front of what looks like a 20 room mansion, saying she's found their dream house.

Lola goes to visit her mother, and Dr. D. finds her there, not dressed in the matronly clothes he's bought for her, and erupts.

He's living in the 19th Century and seems to think she needs to ask his permission before leaving the house. Unfortunately, Lola doesn't seem to notice the fact that he's in the hospital, dressed for work, and grabbing her - as strong as a man 40 years old. She does get right in his face, telling him he will NOT tell her what to do, where to go, or how to dress. She softens a bit, telling him that if she were going to leave him she would have done it when Andrés came the night before. Instead she's staying. This viejo is getting nowhere trying to order her around.

LOS HEREDEROS - VIERNES

The disgusting Nacho is drunk in El Gavilán bragging about "making two sisters his". He leaves out the part where it was rape, not seduction. Efraín and the other guys who work in the bar get all over him, in essence saying the dicho: Un caballero no tiene memoria. He gets in really big trouble leering at Lupe and Beatriz when they arrive.

Lucas arrives after Nacho is knocked down for this behavior. As usual, he's not the brains of the Del Monte brothers and can't see Nacho for what he is. Nacho makes a phone call to someone about getting more pills for Rosario. Apparently there are two kinds of pills.

The two idiot sisters Consuelo and Rosario are in Consuelo's little casita NOT telling each other the truth about being raped. When their mother arrives, they continue to lie to her.

Julieta has gone completely to the dark side, threatening Pedro. And, at last, Pedro has had it with her, telling her that he thought her evil behavior was the tumor, but now realizes she was always devious. He also overhears her manipulating Juan, telling him she doesn't have long to live. She knows full well that the tumor has shrunk and she has a good chance for survival.

I'm not sure what deal Sofía made with Esteban at the spa. But José, when speaking to Esteban, seems to think he convinced her to get Paula to take the money.

Paula tells Sofía that she will never lie to her child as she was lied to. She tells her mother she doesn't trust her or believe her.

On Telenovela World someone commented (not sure if true) that this will run until the second week of July. Sigh.

LA CASA

I guess I'm not on the bandwagon with this one. Out of the three evening TNs on Telemundo, this is the one that stays on the DVR for me.

I loved Alguien te Mira. And there may never be another on Telemundo as wonderful as La Reina del Sur. But this replacement for these two leaves me cold.

I don't like one single person. I know that's the point, but still.

HEREDEROS-

Thanks, Novelera, for the succinct summary of Friday's episode. This had to be one of the worst episodes with a mind-numbing combination of no action and amazing character stupidity.

Why would you develop the characters of the two sisters, Rosario and Consuelo, to be so different and then have them both behave in exactly the same way when they are raped?

I did like it when Julieta slapped her doctor for telling her that she might survive. I bet that wasn't the reaction he expected.

And, of course, does Pedro go and tell Juan that the wacko he married is lying to him about her chances of surviving the cancer? No, that would be too logical. He goes and gets drunk.

At least we don't have to see Beatriz whining and sniveling about losing custody of Simon any more.

LA CASA DE AL LADO

WARNING!!!!!

Some idiot just posted a huge spoiler on Telenovela World. Don't read it if you are enjoying the suspense, because it will totally ruin it for you.

Mi Corazon Insiste:

Thanks for the excellent summary, Novelera.

I laugh every time Debora comes on the screen. She's evil, but in such a guileless manner that I keep bursting out at her antics (like that house). I also liked how she reminded Marcelo that since Andres has the money, and she's his husband, they could kick Marcelo out if he doesn't behave.

Rodrigo is a great guy, but since he loves Soledad, it'll be difficult for Sofia if Soledad gets her mind back (which I assume she will), since Sofia seems to love Rodrigo.

I've always loved Kati Barbieri (Vicki). She was so funny when she left for her tennis match, without taking her racquet! Too bad Renato caught them. Wonder if he'll use that gun.

Chabela is not too consistent as a ghost. Once she made a bottle of water fly around, spooking Etelvina. But why would you see that, but not her clothes? Also, wouldn't it be nice if she used her invisibility to actually help Lola find out stuff? But I guess she's really like Lola's conscience, and can't interfere with the lives of the living.

I'm hoping that Daniel eventually comes to the good side, maybe helped along by cute Adelita. Right now, Danny's being a big baby about not getting enough of the inheritance.

I liked the grafitti painting that Andres and his compas made for Lola. He doesn't deserve to win her back too fast, but this was a nice first step.

LA CASA DE AL LADO:

Novelera, I agree: I don't really love anybody on this show. But the fact that I keep changing my mind makes it fascinating. I agree, it's not on the level of Alguien or Reina, but it's a different animal. It keeps us guessing (and fortunately I didn't go to that site with the spoilers - thanks, Kayzie).

Here are some things which intrigue me:

1. Has there ever been an affair where the woman feels so guilty, so impassioned, so lost, and is so punished by her husband, but all they've done so far is 2 quick kisses? Pilar's struggle with her feelings and loyalties is riveting.

2. Ignacia is so wild, so changeable, so smoldering, that I can't stop watching her. Of course, now she's kidnapped, and I guess she won't find out that Javier's behind it. Or will she?

3. And what's with Leonardo? You tend to have sympathy for a guy in a wheelchair who can't talk much or control his movements, but is he telling the whole truth when he has those little outbursts, such as "Adolfo's not dead" or "Ignacia killed Adolfo" (I'm not sure her really said both of these, but I definitely don't trust him).

4. Javier is rich. No, not his wealth, his blatant self denial, as he has two amantes, but says it's all Pilar's fault! Rich, as in sickly funny, if you know what I mean.

5. Rebeca is another "descarada" or brazen woman, who cares not a fig that she's going after both Gonzalo and Javier, and was quite amused when they started duking it out.

But there is one character I like unreservedly (so far). Hilda.

LA CASA DE AL LADO:

Even though Miguel Varoni's character is a jerk, which he also was in Mas Sabe El Diablo, I just find him fascinating and funny. not that he's trying to be funny, but he just cracks me up with his evilness and arrogance.

MI CORAZÓN INSISTE:

I too like Rodrigo, novelera. love his eyes, and like you, not too crazy about the 5 o' shadow.

LA CASA

The offensive spoiler was pretty quickly taken off the Telenovela World forum. I hope that few people saw it.

MI CORAZON INSISTE:

So Ramon caught his wife Vicki in bed with the tennis pro. He got out his gun, and started shooting. He also kicked Vicki out of the house and burned all her Italian clothes and expensive pocketbooks. The good? He actually was arrested for discharging firearm, and possibly other charges. Usually there are not consequences to this type of behavior in novelas. The bad? Even though Vicki had an affair, she can receive support or alimony, and would definitely not be out on the street with not a penny to her name, in real life.

The funny thing, though, is that it looks as if she will be living with her daughter Debora and son in law Andres, right across the street from Lola and Dr. Diogenes!

LA CASA:

Emilio has amazing computer skills, having tapped into the City security grid, and bringing up the video of Ignacia being kidnapped. He later gets the hard disk from the camera and finds the license plate of the culprit. This is too late for Gonzalo, who finds Ignacia unconscious on the floor, and the culprit holds a gun to Gonzo's head.

Earlier, Carola got drunk, got naked and tried to share a shower with Gonzo, who quickly got her out of there. Eva remarked that Carola did the same thing with Adolfo, causing problems.

Nibaldo tells Karen they have to stop their affair, he can't keep lying to Yolanda. Karen says not so fast buddy, break up with me and I'll make you PAY!

And Javier follows Pilar to Gonzo's apartment (he wasn't there), and confirms that something's up between Pilar and Gonzo. Only Rebeca's quick actions save Pilar from another physical beating. Rebeca also helps out when Andrea tries to call out Pilar. Pilar may want her to leave, but Rebeca's actually helping her sister.

HEREDEROS:

What should a girl like Consuelo do after she gets raped and tells no one? Why, dress up like a prostitute and walk through the town. Yes, that's logical.

Lucas has such trust in Nacho's pills for Rosario. Forget taking her to the doctor, trust Nacho, after all, he's a psychologist.

I liked the musical number with Lupe and Beatriz. Even though they just have the two girls singing with the guy on guitar, I heard a very prominent accordion.

Yes, I'm enjoying this show a little more, although I wish they'd stop showing Juan, Paula, Julieta and Pablo/Emilio. Here's a case where the side plots are more interesting than the main one.

MI CORAZON INSISTE:

pretty amusing that they're gonna be living across from each other (Andres/Lola). Debora and her mom are hilarious - I loved both actresses in Fantasma, and now in this.

thank heavens Andres was smart enough to know about the files being a sabotage, and that he's got a tech geek/ally in the company.

this is why i like t-mundo novelas - it's not your typical wait-for-weeks/months-til-the villains-are-uncovered-or- unsuspected.

MI CORAZÓN INSISTE

Thanks, Hombre and Shallowgal for comments on last night's episode. I am liking this one more and more. I like the protagonists and, other than Tía Chabela's ghost, there isn't anything too weird about the plot.

Even though she pitched a fit, Lola loved the graffito Andres ordered painted.

Rugeles goes to see the priest and tells him it's the Devil making him do it; i.e. have this uncontrollable passion for Lola. He clearly wants the priest to help him control her, perhaps with some mumbo jumbo. When the very sensible priest refuses, he threatens him with reporting him to the bishop.

Then the imbecile makes her think he's taking her out for something she will enjoy and tries to get her involved in church volunteering with people 40 years older than she is!

Rugeles also doesn't want her to meet with Rodrigo, who's acting as her parole officer. This is when she really gets in his face, saying she can't breathe with all the control. He even tries to go along!

Yes, that was a big relief when we found out the company's data was stored online off site. Thus, Marcelo's plan to have his geek install a virus to destroy all evidence of whatever malfeasance he's been doing is thwarted.

I'll say this much for Debora, she does love her mother.

I suppose they will buy the house in front of Dr. D. This should prove veeeerrrry interesting. Rugeles may really develop a severe heart condition.

HEREDEROS - LUNES

Gaspar slips up in front of Juan, letting him know he's planning to be unfaithful.

Adela is supposed to be innocent and evading Gaspar's clutches. But there's something about the way the actor plays the role that makes me think she really likes all the male attention coming her way.

Rosario is practically in a coma, but IDIOT Lucas insists she just needs rest and Nacho Knows Best! I doubt it will happen, but I'd like Rosario to tell Lucas to get lost when it all comes out. Nacho even texts Lucas while he and her parents are standing by her bedside, making sure he's giving her the pills.

¿Que? Pedro is now hot for Berta. Talk about them pulling crap out of you know where to extend this mess!

I can't remember if I posted this before, but the actor playing Nacho also played Juan Primito in Doña Bárbara. What a difference! From an uneducated, superstitious simpleton to a well-educated rapist!

Consuelo's behavior is just awful. Lucas deserves to lose Rosario. And Consuelo deserves to lose Johnny.

Gaspar continues being a jerk. He gets all worked up over Adela, and then needs to jump Lupe's bones in such a way that it's obvious he isn't really thinking of HER.

Paula is finally fed up with Sofía and is talking about their living separately. But she was (illegally) turned down for a job after revealing her pregnancy. She could support Sofía in style suing this company!

José knows Pablo is really Emilio. I suspect he's going to try to kill him off some way so his scheme to get the inheritance remains alive.

LA CASA - LUNES

Well, it doesn't seem like there's much of a mystery. Javier is behind nearly everything that happens. In a ludicrous plot development he has Ignacia kidnapped to punish Gonzalo for spending time with Pilar.

Pilar lets Javier tell her he won't replace her cell phone. Please.

The only appealing thing that happened was the rather touching scene of Yolanda telling Hilda she had been saving the money in that box for a facelift to hang onto her younger husband. So much for our suspicions of what was going on with that box.

HEREDEROS:

One more funny thing was when Jose called a lawyer and asked, "What happens to your inheritance if the guy you're inheriting from isn't really dead?" Do we really need an expert legal opinion to know THAT?!

HEREDEROS- Thanks for id-ing the actor who plays Nacho. Usually, I'm pretty good at recognizing an actor I've seen before but Nacho only looked vaguely familiar. This character is quite a change from Juan Primito on DB.

That was funny when Jose called the lawyer to ask what happens to the inheritance if the person you are inheriting from isn't actually dead. He's clearly interested in remedying that problem.

MI CORAZÓN INSISTE

and just like that, in one episode, Marcelo and Ramon are fired; Debora/Mom are moved into the new home; Diogenes is back at work; Andres' tia will now be working w/ Diogenes. love it (x3).

what next, i wonder? apart from the probability that Debora and Mom are gonna annoy the heck out of their neighbors.

LA CASA
Thanks for the Monday summary, Hombre.

Novelera, no big surprise that Javier was responsible for Ignacia's kidnapping. But the big mystery to me is why Gonzalo was so lovey-dovey after she awakened. Was it only in service of the plot --so that Pilar could see them? Later when he and Pilar kissed, he looked like a schoolboy in love. What gives?

Interesting that when Carola accused Ignacia of murdering Adolfo (for the umpteenth time), she asked whether it was because she had already fallen in love with Gonzalo and was trying to get rid of Adolfo. So that means that Ignacia must have known Gonzalo well before Adolfo died. I am still waiting to find out what their backstory is.

About the latest murder -- it definitely looks like Emilio did it because he proclaimed to Gonzalo that he would do anything for his family. And he looks really guilty. But if he did it, why would he be stupid enough to use his mother's garden tools --especially someone who is so savvy about everything else. Could Eva have actually done it? or maybe it was Carola, who seems to hate her mother and was setting her up. Eva seems to dislike everyone --except Ignacia and Emilio.

About the scene with Javier and Pilar in the hotel room --OY!!!! I seem to remember that Pilar is supposed to be a psychologist and works in a clinic. It is really giving psychotherapy a bad name if she is a psychologist. It's one thing to be an abused wife and afraid of your husband, but she is always so deer-in-the-headlights with everyone else too. Her interaction with Ignacia was the first normal behavior she has manifested with another adult. (She is pretty appropriate with her children. Who could blame her for being angry with the bad seed daughter?)

Novelera, you're right. It is very hard to like any of these people. However, I am sucked in by wanting to find out what's going on.

MI CORAZON INSISTE - Martes

Shallowgal, I also thought it was funny that Sofia just happens to get a job at Diogenes's clinic!

But the funniest was Etelvina's triumph! After overhearing Diog admit to the other Doc that he's been faking his illness, Etel forced him to give her 1/2 of the house, put her in his will, and stop humiliating her. You go, girl! Of course Lola still calls her "bigotes" (mustaches). BTW, I think the portrait of Etelvina's sister is just about the most hilarious portrait I've ever seen, especially the way she's holding her hands. Take a look next time they show it and you'll see what I mean!

LA CASA DE AL LADO - Martes

NJ Sue, here's my take. Both Pilar and Gonzalo half want to have an affair, but half want to preserve what they have with their current spouse. They keep bouncing back and forth like ping pong balls. Pilar gets horrified by Javier's cruelty, but then he gets all nice, and she thinks, should I try to save things? We, of course, say NO! Javier is sort of bipolar, and seems to really see himself as a good guy, as preposterous as that looks to us. So Pilar doesn't know what to do, and this accounts for her constant look of shock.

As for Gonzalo, I think he really cares for Ignacia, really loves her. However, he suspects she has something to do with Adolfo's murder, and this puts a bit of a damper on things. But his concern when she was kidnapped was no act. On the other hand, he also has strong feelings for Pilar. But is he really doing the right thing in continuing to try to get her to be unfaithful to her (admittedly horrible) husband? I'm not sure.

BTW, I do think Emilio killed that kidnapper. I don't think Eva or Carola would have the physical strength or stealth, nor did they know where he lived, as did Emilio.

But I was almost sure that Gonzalo would be arrested for the crime, as he has a good motive, and access to the scissors. This would be music to Javier's ears, as he'd love to put the screws to Gonzalo for something that Javier actually started!

MI CORAZÓN INSISTE - MARTES

Hombre, I also loved Etelvina turning on Dr. D. When he rejected her advances and said those horrible things to her, I was thinking: "Hope she gets him but good". I didn't have to wait long.

What? Diogenes has told the Church Ladies that Lola is pregnant? When the women first said it, I thought Dr. D would faint cause, if they thought she was pregnant and he was unaware, he'd die of rage. But no. He's the one who came up with it. The only thing I can conclude is that he thinks he's going to get her in the sack, and soon. And that he has the sperm motility of an 18 year old.

It looks like Marcelo's plan, after being fired, is to convince Daniel that Andrés is his enemy and to manipulate Daniel to do his bidding within the company. We should have known it wouldn't be so easy to cast off the two crooks.

There was kind of a creepy thing that happened. Rodrigo and the others are investigating the murder of a young girl. Then the next scene is Daniel again trying to force Lola's friend (forget her name) to have sex with him in the car. Hmmmm.

HEREDEROS - MARTES

Boy, José sure brought the evil talking to Pablo/Emilio. The actor feigning paralysis did a good job of expressing grief, post stroke.

FINALLY, Juan stood up to Julieta about needing to contact Paula about the inheritance. The "poor me, I'm dying" didn't work this time, and he insisted she needed to respect him.

Gaspar apparently raped Lupe. I can't see how these two can find the way back to a good marriage. I see similarities between Gaspar and Javier in La Casa. Gaspar isn't quite so evil. However, he feels that he can cheat but is pathologically jealous of his wife.

Sigh. Sofía doesn't appear to ever reform. She was hinting like mad against Paula's wishes about the baby when Juan was in that apartment where they are staying (Adela's?).

I'm SO sick of people begging Rosario to tell them what's wrong. At this point I'd like her back in a semi-coma.

I'll leave the commenting on events to the rest of you. But, NJ Sue, I totally agree on the "OY" regarding the hotel room scene. I can't stand the bug-eyed fear that Pilar projects.

By the way, Eva has the worst case of "trout pout" from collagen injected lips I've seen in quite a while.

I'm done with Gonzalo as well. He's cuddling his wife and seeming very much in love, and then one scene later he's throwing lip locks on Pilar. Ugh!

MI CORAZON:

Novelera, I agree that Dr. D. is really taking a chance bragging that Lola is pregnant.

And I'm also not happy with the way Daniel forced himself on Lola's friend (Adelita).

LA CASA

I've been enjoying everyone's comments. I'm trying to keep up with the show when the local Telemundo station cooperates -- it has an annoying habit of going off-air from time to time.

Yes. Definitely an unpleasant bunch. And no one's perspective is to be trusted so the viewer feels off-balance somehow. Our perspective is distorted. We compensate. And then BAM. The perspective shifts and we're off-balance again.

Still, I'm intrigued by Gonzalo. He has me wondering whether he has a hidden agenda. We don't actually know that he had a relationship with Ignacia when Adolfo was still alive -- that was just Carola's spiteful accusation. But we do know that he married Ignacia while secretly holding on to his bachelor apartment and concealing from her his inability to father children. And even though I don't LIKE the character, I enjoy watching him. What indeed is he up to with the apparent duplicity others have commented on? Does he really have feelings for Ignacia? For Pilar? Or is he using one or both of them in a plan we don't yet understand?

I enjoy Catherine Siachoque's Ignacia. She kind of reminds me of the 1960's Italian actress Monica Vitti -- cool, almost affectless, incredibly sexy. Pilar is harder to watch. I'd like the actress to turn down the twitchiness a notch. And Rebecca -- I'm having a hard time believing in the characterization. I keep thinking I'm watching an exercise in an actor's workshop.

Who killed Ignacia's kidnaper? My money's on Javier. He had the motive: once Gonzalo had seen his face, the guy was a threat to him. And he also wouldn't hesitate to shift the blame to Eva by using her pruning shears and gloves.

But hey, there's no dearth of suspects and I rarely guess right on these things.

LA CASA - MARTES

Nice to hear from you, NovelaMaven.

I also like Catherine Siachoque's portrayal of Ignacia very much. She manages to be sexy, portray lots of neuroses, and keep us constantly guessing about whether she's a goodie or a baddie.

I also was thinking Javier killed the sleazy guy he hired. He was livid when he found out Gonzalo had seen the guy's face. He had to be sure the guy would rat him out if captured.

And I agree 100% about the actress playing Pilar. I'm at the point of being annoyed every time she shows up because she has no courage whatsoever. That wall-eyed look she gets all the time is getting very old.

MI CORAZON INSISTE - Miércoles

When Débora and Vicki (love when she calls her daughter güerita, or blondie) insisted on buying that house, Andrés kept saying no, no, no, but didn't give the reason (that Lola lives across the street). Now the sh*t's about to hit the fan, as the big party brought everybody out of the woodwork. It was a bit stupid for Ramón to show up with his suitcase, saying that since he was fired, he's "on the street". Don't these people have bank accounts?

But the best part of the episode was that we saw Débora's best friend, who's coming to town, and it's that beautiful dark haired girl who played Milady on El Fantasma! Since I don't trust Daniel with Adelita, could "Michel" and "Milady" eventually hook up again?

LA CASA DE AL LADO - Miércoles

Wow, whatever one thinks about this show, you can't say it's boring. Every day, tons of things happen, and it's hard to keep track of it all. It's a bit like a trainwreck, where you can't look away.

When Gonzalo confronted Ignacia, demanding to know who was the father of her baby, she wanted to flee. He had her keys. So she took another car (either her father's or Renato's). She then had an accident and lost the baby. But someone had let out the brake fluid. But they weren't trying to kill Ignacia, since it wasn't her car. I think?!!?

Javier does something with Pilar's phone when he intercepts Gonzo's message to her.

Karen lets out the air in the tires, and probably does other stuff to force Nibaldo to go back to her.

Both Carola and Rebeca corrupt the morals of a minor (Andrea), offering her booze and friendship.

And of course Yolanda saw Leonardo or Adolfo, walking around!

It's a thrill a minute!

MI CORAZON INSISTE - Miércoles

it seems Daniel isn't such a jerk after his hook-up w/Adelita. but who knows.

and yes! 'Milady' is a welcome addition to the cast.

MI CORAZÓN INSISTE - MIÉRCOLES

Thanks, Hombre. Sounds like you're enjoying MCI as much as I am!

Lola puts her foot down about any more bingo evenings.

When Dr. D. hears her call Rodrigo and say they'll meet at Pepe and Adelita's trailer, he decides he's going to get someone to steal her bike to further restrict her movements.

Adela is falling for Danny hard and doesn't listen to warnings from her abuelo nor from Lola. Pepe wisely says an honorable novio would come in to meet the folks.

Lola tells Chabela that she's going to turn into a momia de Guanajuato. I saw those mummies in Guanajuato in El museo de las momias. They are a major tourist attraction. The soil where they buried bodies in the past had some sort of preservative in the clay soil. Apparently, if you didn't continue to pay upkeep on your departed family members in the church plot, they'd dig them up and put someone else there. This is how they discovered the mummification of many bodies.

Slimy Marcelo hints to Sofía (after she's told him to pack and leave) that she probably always had a thing for him. And he'd be willing to accommodate her! What an ass! She turned him down with complete scorn.

Daniel comes to work and (having had poison dripped in his ear by dear old dad) accuses Andrés of stealing from he and his father. After Andrés throws some documents at him confirming the fraud, he looks slightly doubtful, but still sticks by his father.

Rodrigo can't make it to meet with Lola, but he sends a couple of cops (wonder if the taxpayers of LA know about this errand) to deliver a used laptop and a cell phone. Yay!

That party scene was hysterical! Debora's plan to cement her role and Andrés' corporate wife totally blew up in her face.

I didn't see El Fantasma, so I won't know whether Debora's friend will be a positive addition to the show or not.

CORAZON - WED

I meant Dobora's plan to cement her role AS corporate wife.

HEREDEROS - MIÉRCOLES

Smarmy Esteban tries to make Juan think he and Paula reconciled, and that that's why he's showing up at her apartment. After Juan leaves in a bad mood, Sofía tells Esteban that Paula can never know that Juan came to see her because Esteban was NOT supposed to be there ever again.

Does any TN woman ever carry her baby full term without at least one threat of a miscarriage to supposedly make us worry?

Esteban looked like he just ate something sour upon finding out Paula was pregnant. TN guys love to impregnate, but hate their rivals doing so.

Julieta gets even more outrageous, basically telling Juan that he can't be with Paula after she dies and that his memories of her will be all he needs for the rest of his life. Right!

Apparently the guilty secret Berta has is Victoria's Secret. She flashed her red bra at Pedro as if it were the same thing as pornography. Completely ridiculous plot element #25.

Gaspar and Lupe overheard José and Esteban's conversation about getting Paula to accept her inheritance, of which the lion's share is to go to José. They also saw a heated conversation with some guy. I suppose this is the one he owes money to. Gambling debts? Don't think they ever said why José owes anyone money. At least Gaspar finally knows what a rat his brother is. But it seems way to soon for him to really tell Juan about José. Something will cause this to be one step forward and two steps back.

They left us wondering if Paula was going to confess that she was pregnant and that the baby was Juan's. This probably means she'll cook up a lie. Also, if Juan tells Julieta, she'll come after Paula with a machete.

LA CASA AL LADO
Great summary of last night's events. Certainly an action-packed episode.

Can Javier be any more of a slime -being so obviously happy that Ignacia lost her baby and his because it otherwise would have been "inconvenient." And when he tells her that she's young and will have other children, she obviously is thinking that
Gonzalo can't have children. Ignacia is neurotic, but you have to feel sorry for her. Or maybe eventually we won't.

Wasn't there something about the wife of Igor Mora wanting revenge. maybe that explains the brake fluid in renato's car. By the way, what ever happened to Javier's plot to get rid of igor Mora?

Can't wait to see what other surprises are in store for tonight.
I have said from the begining that Leonardo is probably Adolfo. It is loking like Adolfo is alive.

HEREDEROS - Jueves

I haven't seen Wednesday's episode but Thursday's opened with Juan (hatless for once) ecstatic about the fact that Paula is pregnant. Since Paula was sharing a room with Esteban ostensibly as husband and wife, it would have been logical for Juan to at least ask how Paula is sure that the baby is his but if he did, I didn't see that part.

When asked why she hadn't told him, Paula replied that it was the Julieta situation.

Folks are now zipping between the capital and the pueblo where La Arboleda is located in no time at all. Juan is home for dinner.

Gaspar tells Juan about the Jose/Esteban conversation. Meanwhile, Jose and the gang he can call on whenever kidnap Pablo and Adela.

Miguel finally decides to get the pills they are giving Consuelo analyzed.

Rosario, meanwhile, dresses up like a hooker and tells her parents that sex is power. She goes to El Gavilan bar and dances with Nacho and then ditches him to dance with a woman.

The idiot Beatriz keeps rejecting Efrain's avowals of love. Lupe asks Beatriz if she still is carrying the torch for Jose. Beatriz appears to indicate that she is. Lupe predicts that Jose will come to a bad end and that Beatriz should wise up. There is no indication that she will take this good advice, though.

MI CORAZON INSISTE - Jueves

Debora and Dr. Diogenes decide to team up to help split Lola and Andres. Plan A: Both couples show up at the same restaurant.

Sofia realizes that Rodrigo only wants her as a friend, and the reason is that he's stuck on Soledad, Lola's Mom. I don't think Sofia knows Soledad is Lola's Mom yet, just that she's Diogenes' mother-in-law (hah!). Sofia also has figured out that Soledad is faking, there's nothing physically wrong with her, and she responds to banging a plate behind her head, which apparently a "real" catatonic schizophrenic would not do.

I was happy to see Ramon carted off by the cops again, although I doubt anything will happen to him (again).

Daniel continues to walk the edge between good and evil. Andres shows him proof that the company (which is a shipping company sort of like Fedex) is in trouble, and seems to show evidence that Marcelo and Ramon took money. But Marcelo then convinces Daniel that Andres is tricking him. However, if the company needs money, tell Andres to sell stock to investors. Daniel agrees to suggest this.

Marcelo and Ramon speak of a mysterious man to whom they owe lots of money.

LA CASA DE AL LADO - Jueves

The cops arrest Eva for the murder of Efraim, the guy who kidnapped Ignacia. Eva might have not been arrested if she kept her big mouth shut. Renato says to Javier, who's going to defend her, "Eva is innocent. She wouldn't hurt anyone. Well, except for that one time, of course. But that was long ago."! They also suspect the "wife of Igor Mora" is trying to get "revenge".

Emilio gets lots of action. Andrea sneaks into his room to leave a teddy bear and a card, but he doesn't appreciate her cuteness. However, he really appreciates Hilda's cuteness, and they have sex in his room (her first time, I think).

Yolanda finds Leonardo's room empty, and she and Hilda find him on the floor in Ignacia's workshop. Did he walk there, or did someone put him there?

Javier threatens Ignacia, helpless in her hospital bed, with an iron fist to her throat if she "betrays" him and tells about the baby.

Rebeca organizes a coming home party for little Diego, who is enchanted. Pilar wants to kick Rebeca out, but both Andrea and Diego love Rebeca now, so Pilar has to back down.

Rebeca also has a proposition for Gonzalo. Give me sex, and I'll give you information. Gonzalo, who just signed the paper with Renato receiving stock shares as long as he stays married to Ignacia, is really torn. He really wants to stay faithful to Ignacia now, or maybe even start something with Pilar, but definitely NOT Rebeca. But she has all this info!! And she decides to give him a freebie. Guess who the father of Ignacia's baby was? she tells Gonzo. Javier!!!

MI CORAZÓN INSISTE - JUEVES

Thanks, Hombre, for the well-written mini-cap.

I enjoyed the scene with Adela and Pepe. The actor did a great job as a concerned grandfather who just can't get his granddaughter to see what a jerk she's hooked up with.

I thought Ana (Debora) looked great in her corporate party finery and with her hair up. She was excellent in the scene where her mother slaps her and makes her realize that, if she goes to Andrés in anger, she will give him the excuse to divorce her.

I also very much enjoyed the scene with Lola and Andrés when he cuts off her motorcycle. I think these two are just great together. And Carmen perfectly portrays Lola cycling back and forth between her intense love for Andrés and her anger that they're in this position because he wouldn't believe her. He admits he's having sex with Debora. She fires back that she's doing the same. But, of course, he comes unglued at the thought she could do such a thing after having been with him. Men!

I thought the Santacruz business was an importing company. When Marcelo tells Ramon that "the guy" called him last night, he said that "he" had found out they'd lost the importadora. My guess is that they were importing something illegally for this guy (drugs?). Somehow they owe him money.

Etelfina does a lineup of potential maids. She picks a really homely and sneaky looking one.

I also enjoy the scenes with Lola and Rodrigo. She was reviewing the case of the murdered girl on his laptop, something she'd apparently done before. He was only mildly annoyed though. He seemed to appreciate her input. Are they maybe leading up to her becoming a cop?

Danny Boy must really be dumb. His slimy father tells him the company was doing great until Andrés took over. What? He's been there a week, and the thing is almost in bankruptcy? And Danny appears to buy this. I'm not sure how the issuing of more stock is going to get any money in the hands of Marcelo, but I'm sure that's what's behind it.

The only reason I can think of for Soledad faking her illness is that she feels safer in the hospital from the guy in the limo. But it's a pretty rotten thing to do to Lola, in my opinion.

HEREDEROS - JUEVES

Thanks for weighing in, Jean. I'm beginning to feel like the Lone Ranger on this novela.

Cimarro was very good in his reactions to the pregnancy. I especially liked his touching her stomach and speaking to the baby directly. It may be a cliché, but it gets me every time.

Consuelo is now unrecognizable. She was always a handful, but the saving grace was loving Johnny and her family. Now she's scorched earth all the way. She did have a point about Julieta, though. That character has worn a beige sweater the whole novela, except for the time she wore Paula's sexy dress.

Gaspar FINALLY tells Juan about José, but it sort of looked like José was trying to brazen it out after Juan grabbed him.

I admit I was surprised that José had Esteban hire two thugs to kidnap Pablo/Emilio. I thought they'd be going after Paula. I'm wondering if Esteban is planning to keep Paula's whereabouts from José forever. José already accused him of really siding with her.

Julieta is so annoying now, maybe the most annoying character of all. Her husband has a serious problem, tries to get away from her to deal with it, and she whines and whines and accuses him, with no evidence, of going to see Paula.

I don't dislike Beatriz as much as you do, Jean, but I agree that her telling Efraín, a perfect father, that he could never be Simón's father again and insisting that the José is the father is very stupid. And she admits to Lupe that she still has feelings for him. She demonstrates the classic type of dumb female who equates masculinity and male attractiveness with aggression and overt sexuality. Efraín is a mensch and she seems incapable of appreciating him.

MI CORAZON:

Novelera, I checked my tape, and the name of the company is Exportex. The logo looks a little like fedex, and says "Delivering Solutions" (in English). I think the company does all kinds of shipping, and you're probably right that they may have received shipments of drugs, as they could deal in all sorts of packages.

Also, thanks for all the other excellent points and comments. Unlike in past shows, I don't take notes or use captions for this show, so I only mention the things which stuck in my mind.

CORAZON - JUEVES

Hombre, I got in the habit of jotting down a couple of notes during La Reina del Sur. Otherwise, I can't come up with a single cogent thing to say!

Mi Corazon Insiste,

I think that this is only my second comment on here but I had to comment on the fact that MCI is a great show.

Jencarlos and Carmen have great chemistry. I can't wait for them to get together for real (not in real life, just to have an official relationship).

I REALLY hate Diogenes. The actor does a great job of making me dislike him. He just seems like a pervert.

Soledad has to come out of her "coma" sometime soon. Her story needs to move. The mystery behind the black-limo guy is already forgotten.

I can't wait for more. Love everybody's comments!
