El Mundo de Telemundo, Week of June 20, 2011: Discuss Amongst Yourselves

¡Hóla a todos! Happy midsummer! It seems like the folks that are watching Casa and Corazon are enjoying them. Thanks for the recapettes. I'm only watching Herederos right now. Let the discussion begin!

HEREDEROS - Viérnes

Juan, Gaspar and Jose are about to come to blows about whether Jose is trying to steal his brothers' inheritance when Berta comes running in with the news about the kidnapping of Pablo and Adela.

Juan drops the bombshell that Pablo is his biological father. Since Jose knows that Pablo is Emilio, he is really taken aback by this news.

At the lair of the kidnappers, Esteban's accomplices want to get paid. Esteban tells them that it's Jose who has the money, he is an employee like them. Adela and Pablo are locked in a room and Adela promises to continue Pablo's therapy.

Consuelo is missing after having left the bar with Nacho. Everyone is terrified when a body of a woman is found but it isn't Consuelo, It's a waitress from the bar. Consuelo turns up unharmed much to everyone's relief and exasperation because she still has her personality disorder.

When Paula hears about the kidnapping, she and Sofia show up at La Arboleda. Juan tells Paula that he loves her and doesn't want her to leave his side. Paula brings up the Julieta complication. Julieta meanwhile, is taking full advantage of being an 'obnoxious person with a fatal brain tumor' by accusing Juan of going after Paula every time he leaves the house and scolding him for not telling her that Pablo is his biological father.

Jose reveals to Pablo and Adela that he is their kidnapper and tells Pablo that he knows that he is really Emilio and that he will hold him hostage until Pablo signs over all of his property to him.

That was about it.

LA CASA
Hombre,I am not convinced that Gonzalo is in love with Ignacia and is confused. And I am completely in the dark about why he decided to sign the paper Renato previously presented for the company shares in exchange for Gonazlo's promise to stay with Ignacia. Why now? Does anyone have any thoughts about that? Is it like a revenge for her affair with Javier and pregnancy by him?

Emilio and Hilda: After their night together, I thought I saw a tiny television scene of their having sex. I then thought that perhaps it was not part of the program, but the kind of thing you see in a coming attraction. Then on Friday, Hilda saw it in what looked like the picture frame? I was surprised, as I thought Emilio really was sincere about liking Hilda, and was needing her as an antidote to all the family's craziness and recent events. If he really is such a voyeur and perv, then maybe he did kill Ignacia's kidnapper (although I'm still thinking that's a red herring).
Leonardo/Adolfo: Obviously Adolfo is still alive, as he's been seen by Yolanda. I think her treatment of Leonardo is the only positive and kind behavior we are seeing on this program. Carola seems to have forgotten Leonardo and her plan to remove him from the house of horror. She's too busy drinking and going out with the "girls."

I must say that the writers deserve credit for adding mystery upon mystery, and rarely giving us any answers, but keeping us wanting to find out what's going on.

MI CORAZON INSISTE:

Lola was outraged that Dr. D. would tell everyone she was pregnant by him, and was just about to leave....when she happened to see Andres kissing Debora (actually she was kissing him) in the window across the way. So now it looks as if Lola will pretend that Dr. D. DID make her pregnant, to get back at Andres.

Veronica (formerly Milady on Fantasma) is on the scene as Debora's best friend. But she needs a guy. First candidate? Camilo, Andres' cuate. I'm still thinking she and Daniel will find each other at some point. Adelita really likes Daniel, but I'm not so sure about him.

Sofia now knows that Soledad is Lola's Mom, and that Rodrigo is stuck on Soledad. But Rodrigo feels bad that Sofia got her hopes up with him. I'm wondering? Can Soledad and Sofia share him? Guess not. Of course, we know nothing about Lola's father. Maybe after a long time, he'll reappear, and get back with Soledad. Or is he the one who is terrorizing her? I'm not too clear on this part.

LA CASA DE AL LADO:

One thing seems clear. SOMEONE is hanging around the house, spying on people, doing stuff. Leonardo says it's Adolfo. But how could he be alive (unless he IS Leonardo?) Didn't someone die after falling out the window? Didn't they bury him?

I think Gonzalo signed the agreement because he loves Ignacia, but... Can you love somebody with a big but? (no, not a big butt!)

I currently don't think Emilio killed the guy who kidnapped Ignacia. Why, because he said he'd kill the guy who killed the guy who kidnapped Ignacia (if that makes any sense). I think it's our mystery person (Adolfo?)

Javier was not too please when Gonzalo confronted him about being the father of Ignacia's baby. But although Javier also accused him of killing Adolfo, that doesn't seem possible (especially if Adolfo is alive).

I do think Emilio is a perv, since he taped his tryst with Hilda. But sometimes pervs are not all bad. I think Emilio is an "edge" character, walking the tightrope between bad and good. Actually, in this show, there are a lot of characters like that. As Emilio said to Gonzalo, "we all have our secrets, don't we?".

Mi Corazon Insiste:
I thought Soledad ran away from an abusive household and took her daughter with her. Lola never calls her "mom" and is closer with the aunt, so I figured Soledad left her for sometime so they could not be found. I up until Friday loved this TN, but in the previews when she says she's pregnant, my hopes got dashed. I hope they stop this quickly and move the storyline, Lola is smart they already showed she can be a detective, and Andres is not an airhead, why not take this into that direction instead of I'm pregnant, no I'm not...

HEREDEROS
Please give me some peace Consuelo and her sister this rape storyline is nauseating, let's get it over with.

LA CASA
Sorry but from day one I thought there was more to Gonzalo, I don't think he's as "nice" as everyone thinks and have cast him as the true villain (I hope I'm wrong). I thought Carola would be the heroine in this one, but then everything went sour. Difficult to watch this one, so I leave it up to you guys to keep me informed. Excellent job by the way.

LA CASA DE AL LADO -- viernes

Hombre, I like your idea of "edge" characters. This novela is sure loaded with them. Maybe Emilio (like the voyeur Mauricio in ALGUIEN) will turn out to be a good guy with a tragic flaw. Maybe not.

I agree with Nellie that Gonzalo is the one to keep your eye on. He may or may not be THE villain but he is definitely hiding something important.

NJ Sue,
Why did Gonzalo sign the documents? Well, first of all, Ignacia begged him to do so. And she was so needy -- recovering from the accident, the miscarriage and the kidnapping, and so appealing to him, he didn't have the heart to say no. And second, he has nothing to lose by signing. If he leaves Ignacia, he loses the properties which puts him back where he started. Big deal.

LA REINA DEL SUR

Yes, you read correctly.

A friend sent me a link to this article in the LA Times about Telemundo's efforts to get an Emmy for the show and for Kate.

HEREDEROS - VIERNES

Thanks for the capette, Jean.

Really, these people are beyond annoying.

At least the reason why José went after Pablo/Emilio instead of Paula was revealed. He's planning to cut her out of the inheritance as well by getting "Dear Old Dad" to will everything to him. After which, P/E's life expectancy drops dramatically.

I can't STAND Esteban. Every time he smirks I long to punch him in the chops.

Rosario thinks her sister may have been killed by Nacho and she STILL keeps quiet? Consuelo was so madly in love with Johnny she went to live in a primitive cottage, but now she tortures him all the time?

Do we think Nacho killed the other girl? And was she that waitress he was flirting with before Consuelo arrived at El Gavilán?

I'm surprised anyone on this show can keep from slapping Julieta. Pablo is coming close.

Paula is an idiot. She swears to keep away from Juan. She's supposed to be resting because of the "almost miscarriage". But then jumps in the car and goes to La Arboleda. Of course she won't lose the baby. Heroines almost never do. It's often the villainess who is lying to the hero that it's his baby who has a miscarriage. Then she wears a fake pregnancy pillow and steals the heroine's baby.

CORAZÓN - VIERNES

I'm enjoying the acting on this one, but they're using the whole hackneyed bag of tricks to keep Lola and Andrés apart. I knew Lola's leaving Dr. Pervo was not going to result in the two of them walking off into the sunset so soon. But I did hope she'd leave. It pushes a lot of my personal buttons when a woman is controlled by a man. I've been able to smell guys like that from a long way off my whole life. While Lola is still pretty feisty, I can't stand her being there, putting up with the mi diosa's and getting watched by the hidden cameras.

One thing pleased me. So far it doesn't appear Sofía is going to go to the dark side in her treatment of Soledad, even if she is her rival.

And, I repeat, I'm annoyed at Soledad for not snapping out of it. She's selfishly keeping Lola in the clutches of Dr. Pervo to avoid facing up to her fears.

LA CASA - VIERNES

I think Gonzalo accepted the shares in the hotel business because Ignacia pleaded so desperately, lying there in her hospital bed. As NovelaMaven said, if he breaks his word, they take back the shares and he's in the same place where he started.

I was happy to see Gonzalo tell Javier about knowing it was his baby. For once, Javier was completely unable to wiggle out. He's caught out drinking by Carola and his daughter, looking really bad. He's obviously terrified about a couple of things: that Gonzalo will tell Pilar and/or Renato. For whatever sick reason, he wants to keep Pilar, while jumping every female that takes his fancy. And he's also afraid, per Gonzalo's threat, that he'll lose the Conde legal account for seducing Renato's daughter.

I felt like throwing things at the screen when Javier told Pilar SHE was the only one who'd not been completely faithful. The Dog!

It probably won't happen, but I hope Hilda stays far, far away from creepy Emilio after seeing he'd recorded their lovemaking.

NJ Sue, they showed the usual scene of Emilio and Hilda making love, with the discreetly draped sheets. Then the camera pulled back from the closeup and showed his video camera running with the tiny screen showing the two of them.

I still think Javier killed his hired kidnapper because Gonzalo saw his face.

The Adolfo/Leonardo thing is intriguing. I had been thinking Leonardo was the one who got buried and Adolfo was taking his place to get revenge eventually. Have they ever said what the illness is supposed to be? MS? Lou Gehrig's? If it's Adolfo pretending to be Leonardo, then that accounts for his being seen upright through the window by Yolanda. Do we have any evidence that both of the twins are alive?

LA CASA
both Novs:I understood the surface reason for Gonzalo accepting the shares, but really am unsure why his character decided to do it. He was so adamant at the beginning, and felt insulted that anyone would think he would have to be bought off to stay in his marriage.Ignacia wanted him to sign from the very beginning. I still think that he feels sorry for her is not the explanation. We'll see.

Novelera; I have been saying from the beginning that I think that Leonardo is really Adolfo, and that Leonardo is the one dead and buried. Don't forget they are identical twins.

Probably everyone is right: Javier is probably responsible for killing Ignacia's kidnapper. It's probably true that emilio is a perv, but not a killer.

Tonight it looks like there's forward movement on the Gonzalo/Pilar relationship --and my word verification is "boing.:

Herederos - lunes

Well! We certainly got a boatload of revelations last night as we entered, "ultimos capitulos."

Modesto told Juan that he and Paula were 'hermanos de sangre,' or half brothers/sisters as we would say. To make Juan believe him, Modesto also had to tell Juan that Pablo is Emilio. Naturally, Juan was grossed out to the point of vomiting by the news that he had had relations and fathered a child on his half sister. His attitude to Paula changed radically and she wondered why.

Miguel got the results of the analysis of the pills that Nacho gave them to give to Rosario. He and Rosa were devastated to find that the pills contained arsenic. They want an explanation from Lucas.

Dumb old Lucas lets Nacho take him to some girlie club. When Lucas innocently tells Nacho that the Millans had the pills analyzed and then goes to the john, 'chemical' Nacho put something in his drink.

Consuelo still won't tell Johnny what is going on with her and she leaves him to return to her parents' house.

What a disappointment Lupe is! Gaspar forces her to have sex with her again and physically restrains her and when given the opportunity to denounce him before his brothers and Paula, she weezes out.

Pedro asks Berta to show him what is under her blouse while she is cooking! If that is his style of romancing, no wonder he hasn't gotten anywhere with Julieta.

Julieta is as nasty as ever and still pretending that she is dying of cancer.

We have to do a time jump to when Paula's baby is born. I wonder how they are going to do that. Awkwardly, I bet.

MI CORAZON INSISTE:

The highlights for me were: 1) Veronica in her underwear, 2) Lola in her underwear.

There was also something about moving to Spain, but that seemed silly to me.

Also, Chabela disappeared, saying Lola will "never have to see her again". We'll see if this lasts more than one episode.

LA CASA DE AL LADO:

The mysteries continue. Both Yolanda and Renato were knocked out by the intruder, but neither got a good look at him/her. Emilio's camera caught a figure with head covered, but it could be anyone.

Pilar and Gonzalo finally made love, but unfortunately Javier's right outside the door, having been alerted by his new little spy Andrea.

Now that Hilda has rejected Emilio for taping their tryst, he's going for Andrea, and invites her out.

Rebeca takes advantage of Javier's distractions to make points with Renato and possibly get Eva out of jail. When Renato says I didn't know we had a new female lawyer at the firm, she responds "Right, and a beautiful and smart one to boot" (my paraphrasing). She sure doesn't lack in self-confidence.

Okay, here's my wacky theory. 1) Javier didn't kill the guy who kidnapped Ignacia, and neither did Emilio. 2) I agree that Adolfo is not dead, but Leonardo is, and Adolfo is pretending to be Leonardo (several of us think this). 3) The mysterious intruder is.....Nibaldo! Okay, I know it's a stretch, but he seems like the least likely guy to be doing all this stuff (which makes me suspect him more), plus I don't think he's ever been spooked by the intruder, whereas everyone else has. I'm sure I'm totally wrong on this, but that's my guess (I promise you I have not seen any spoilers).

LA CASA

Hombre, I never thought of Nibaldo...Karen wouldn't surprise me though. And it even crossed my mind that it could be Pilar. I am really wondering about Pilar. She seems to have a screw loose. Why would she go to see Ignacia in the hospital with flowers, offer herself as a psychologist rather than a friend and then try to grill her on who exactly is the father of Ignacia's baby? Then she makes a beeline for Gonzalo's bed. To me, her behavior is not normal --especially for a psycholgist.

Hombre or Los dos Novs --I am curious if anyone remembers when Gonzalo found out that the baby was Javier's. Could his signing the paper for the shares be revenge for Ignacia's two-timing him with Javier of all people? I am still not buying that he felt sorry for her. (Although I am beginning to feel sorry for Ignacia. You could really see her angst when she was alone in the hospital).

I am even feeling a little (very little!) sorry for Javier who is becoming unglued.
He's not only evil, but was pathetic in last night's episode. He really was out of control when he heard Pilar and Gonzalo were together.

Good for Hilda!! Bad for Andrea --although I like the fact that you got the feeling she is guilty and crying because of what she's doing, or at the very least upset by what she found out by spying. Bad for Emilio, too. I don't hate his character because I feel his pain underneath, but I really hate everything he does. What a group of sickos! But it does make for an interesting novela.

MI CORAZON INSISTE - Martes

1. Chabella is back (gone for one day)
2. It looks as if Lola's NOT going to Spain.
3. Partially because Pepe (Adelita's abuelo) may have been killed in a truck accident. If so, will ghost Pepe join ghost Chabela?
4. Veronica is through with Camilo (not enough money), and Daniel is through with Adelita (sex was good, but he's not ready to get married). So it's more likely that Daniel and Veronica (Michel and Milady) will get together. They're both sort of bad in this show, too, which could unite them.

LA CASA DE AL LADO - Martes

Secuelas = after effects. This is a new word I learned, since it was on twice last night. Renato used it in explaining to Gonzalo what happened with Igor Mora. Igor invested in one of Renato's hotels. A defalcation was discovered, Renato turned in Igor, Igor got 15 years, suffered a stroke, wife left him, he ended up with nothing. But he was innocent! So Renato (maybe accidentally) ruined Igor Mora's life, and there were lots of secuelas.

We've got a new suspect! Super computer whiz Emilio instantly finds out who was sending threatening emails to Diego. It was Ricardo Morina (sp.?). Diego doesn't recognize that name, but Pilar sure does!

Javier tells Renato that Gonzalo is being unfaithful with Pilar. No proof yet. Next up, will Gonzo tell Renato that Ignacia was unfaithful to him with Javier?

We keep seeing Adolfo or Leonardo walking and talking, but it's often someone's dream.

Karen had the picture of Gonzo kissing Pilar developed and sent it to Gonzo. Carola (I think) just saw it slip out of a book. But wasn't that same picture sent the other day to Pilar, BEFORE Karen had it developed? Did two people take the same picture, Karen and the mystery person? I'm really mixed up here (but intrigued).

LA CASA:

NJ Sue, Gonzalo found out from Rebeca that the baby was Javier's, about two days ago. But I think it was after he signed the agreement (not sure, though). He later came back to Ignacia and was mad at her.

Speaking of Rebeca, she did get Eva out of jail in one day. I like her, although she's a bit evil.

LA CASA DE AL LADO martes

Thanks for the skillful capette, Hombre.

I actually thought Karen had sent the first photo to Pilar. Now she's trying to expand her customer base. (!)

So last night, Yolanda caught Karen and Nibaldo in a compromising position. I have a hunch Karen will talk her way out of it. (BTW, why is it that the most obnoxious people on TNs use the most Spanglish? Remember the sKanks on El clon? Every English word out of Karen's mouth is like nails on a chalkboard to me.)

We learned a little about Pilar and Rebecca last night: They are half-sisters -- same father, different mothers -- and Rebecca has always been jealous and resentmentful of Pilar and Pilar's mother. So I guess we have yet ANOTHER character trying to compensate for a narcissistic injury.

AL LADO:

Yes, NovelaMaven, the mother of Pilar and Rebeca apparently left Rebecca's father and went with Pilar's.

I thought it was funny that Karen, who throws in her English whenever she can, couldn't really speak it in the photo shop, and the sales clerk had to wait on her in Spanish.

AL LADO:

Correction, the father of Pilar and Rebeca left Rebeca's mother for Pilar's mother. I'm so confused!

MI CORAZON INSISTE>

I was reminded last night of the super-deep voice of the evil half brother of Gonzalo in Mañana es Para Siempre when the evil drug lord or whatever he is was shown from the back on the telephone as he spoke to Marcelo. Marcelo continues to play Danny like a fiddle, convincing him to suck up to his brother and get control of the shares. I wonder if this plot to squeeze out Andrés will work.

Gosh I sure hope Vicki's plan to get Debora to "slip up" on the birth control doesn't work. I'm SO VERY TIRED of the villainess becoming pregnant, often with someone else, to hold onto the galán. I will admit that Ana is the funniest villainess ever, even likeable at times.

I know it won't happen. But I wish Rodrigo would just tell Andrés he is his father instead of making him suspicious with his paternal lectures. I know, I know, people in hell want ...

LA CASA

Well it appears that the bulk of the comments are about this one.

I'm having a hard time with it because there are no likeable characters, except maybe Hilda and Yolanda.

I suppose Javier got a little pushed out of his comfort zone last night, but not enough for me. I'm sick to death of his pushing everyone around and Pilar bug-eyed with fear. What's wrong with this woman? Her reactions are like those of a poor peasant woman in the 19th century. I must save my family. Please. She doesn't want to save her family enough to keep from going to a man's bachelor pad to show him an incriminating photo. If she had a brain in her head, she'd meet him in a coffee shop. What could Javier do then? He's nuts, but she could say that a coffee with a neighbor was harmless.

Andrea is an impossible brat. I know we're supposed to feel her pain when she cried, but she's rotten to her mother. I'm sure Javier doesn't give a rats patootie about the kid, but manipulates her by telling her what a great kid she is spying on her mother. Ugh.

OK, I think the best thing to do is stop commenting on this one and likely stop watching at all.

Mi Corazon Insiste

I just want to say that I hope the sister-in-law (I'm really bad with names, I know she's is called Mustache by Lola)has a chance to really stick it to the doctor at some point on this TN.

Herederos:
Can someone please punch out Nacho, rapes women, poisions them, and then takes pictures of their loppy boyfriends. I can't believe this is the same actor who was on Dona Barbara, and played dimwitted. He's given an amazing performance going from a good character to one that is loathed. I can't wait to see him get his dues.

I don't understand the dynamics of Pedro and Berta, why would anyone be interested in a pervert?

HEREDEROS - MARTES

Nellie, I agree 100%. I also cannot wait for Nacho's getting his. It was so frustrating that Miguel found out the pills contained arsenic, but Lucas still wasn't told about it.

There also was an odd continuity thing that happened. Consuelo packed a bag and said she was leaving. Then the Millán household was shown with no sign of her. And the next scene she's in bed with Johnny. What?

LA CASA
novelera -- please don't leave us. We need your insightful comments.

Hombre; thanks for the recapette. Nut what is a defalcation?

I think the man who is e-mailing Diego is probably the man that javier accused pilar of having an affair with at her clinic.

And why --once again-- has Pilar showed up at the hospital to see Ignacia??

LA CASA
Hombre, I meant to write "But" and not "Nut" what is defalcation?

LA CASA:

NJ Sue, a defalcation is another word for a misappropriation, which means stealing money from the business where you work. I'm sure for Igor Mora, it was on a much bigger scale (except that he didn't do it).

MI CORAZON INSISTE - Miércoles

"Dispositivo" is a false friend. It doesn't mean dispositive. Un dispositivo is a device, in particular it was used to mean an IUD or intrauterine device, as Debbie's gynecologist asked if hers was working. She said, yeah, but take it out, Doc. Uh oh.

Since Etelvina told Andrés that Diógenes and Lola never had relations, he decides that "the baby" is his, and wants to sue Lola to keep her from taking his baby to Spain (or course, there's no baby anyway).

By the way, the trip to Spain is off, since Lola wants to keep Adelita and Pepe (fortunately not dead) company.

Veronica's trying to get a job at Andrés's company. She tells Camilo it'll help her career. Camilo thinks her career is actually women's "oldest profession", and she's after Andrés. She very unconvincingly denies this.

Rodrigo sees Soledad cry when he says he'll miss her when she goes to Spain. But by the time everyone else comes in, the tears are dry, and no one believes him.

Daniel demands his "inheritance". Andrés says no, Mom wanted me to make sure you'd be responsible first, and you're only 21. But Marcelo tells Daniel to keep trying, Andrés is too nice to refuse. Soon, gloat Marcelo and Ramón, they'll have the controlling shares, and can pay back the mystery mob guy.

LA CASA DE AL LADO - Miércoles

Movin' up: Rebeca, who, having gotten Eva out of jail in one day, is now Renato's personal assistant and lawyer, instead of Javier. She also sees what a slug Javier is, and sees why Pilar wants to stray.

Karen: Successfully denied her affair with Nibaldo when confronted by Yolanda. When Rebeca finds the camera and accuses Karen of spying, it turns out not so bad, as Rebeca offers to buy the pictures.

In a holding pattern: Pilar, who along with Gonzalo goes to Ricardo Merino's house (a former patient with whom Javier thought she was having an affair, and who is apparently sending all the threatening emails). They see tons of pictures of Pilar, Diego and Andrea on his wall. But there's one problem - he apparently died a year ago!

Not doing so well:

Hilda, who after finding out Emilio was taping their sex, is now fainting. Could she be pregnant this fast?

Ignacia: Home from the hospital, but both Gonzo and Javier are mad at her.

Having a really bad day: Ja Ja Javier, who lost Renato's confidence, lost Rebeca's confidence, hasn't really proved Pilar's unfaithfulness, is just about to have his unfaithfulness come out, and is reduced to going to a girlie bar and paying the dancer to pretend her name is "Pilar"!

HEREDEROS - Miércoles

Rosa tells Rosario about the arsenic in the pills Nacho "prescribed" for her. Does she tell Lucas? No she does not. She runs to her sister's casita.

I had SUCH high hopes Julieta was going to die soon! But the chemo shrunk the tumor. Maybe one of those gorgeous black horses will rear up and bash her skull in with their hooves. Does it show that I don't like Julieta much?

Consuelo has backed away from the ledge vis-a-vis her marriage to Johnny. She really heard what he said about how her going out to a bar alone hurt him.

The scene with Consuelo and Nacho was very good! He shows up at her casita and starts coming on to her, wanting to continue what he thinks they started the night she went to the bar. There's a big clue in what he says to her about how lucky she was he escorted her home and that another girl was raped and killed the same night. This guy is going down, and soon!

Nacho basically admits he raped her, calling her something I forgot that included blind in it. The penny drops. Consuelo has an inspired thought and turns around and comes on to HIM, telling him he needs to be a stud and give her what she needs. He doesn't like this one bit, telling her she needs to be scared and crying. Guess the sicko can't function with a willing woman.

Rosario enters and they kick and beat him for a while. Consuelo tells her sister she was raped, but Rosario STILL can't directly name Nacho.

I see a big problem with José's plan to get Emilio to sign a new will. I don't see how he can present the will and kill his father at the same time. And if he lets him live, he'll repudiate the forced signature. Esteban has gone 100% to the dark side and tells José they'll have to bump off Emilio and Adela.

Paula runs off to La Arboleda leaving her mother in charge of monitoring the computer for incoming messages from Adela. Paula, it's a laptop! Take it with you!

MI CORAZON INSISTE

I can't decide if Sofía is playing straight with Lola. She was pretty quick to say it would make no difference in Sole's treatment to move her to Madrid. And she definitely shot down Rodrigo's claims that Solita cried while she was talking with him. Is she trying to get rid of her to try for Rodrigo or is this her honest medical opinion?

Every once in a while Dr. D. lets his mask slip and lets Lola see what a rotten guy he really is. Luckily Lola takes no crap and really rips into him when he tries to force her to go with him.

Yeah, Hombre, the removal of the IUD from Debora is definitely bad news.

Now Andrés has TWO scheming women after him.

LA CASA - MIERCOLES

Thanks for saying you'd miss me, NJ Sue! I'm not going away on the other novelas, but my comments on La Casa will likely be sparse.

I did enjoy Javier's loss of Renato's legal business. There are times when I like Rebeca. But she appears to be up to no good getting that photo and/or the whole camera from Karen.

I'm very sick of the dream appearances of Adolfo. Come on, they're crying wolf way too many times. I'm also pretty sick of scenes of Carola and her punching bag. I've got no use for her. The last straw was telling her recovering sister Gonzalo was getting it on with Pilar.

LA CASA DE AL LADO -- miércoles

Hombre, I loved the way you set up you capette today (Movin' Up, In a holding pattern, Not doing so well)

And Novelera, I'm with NJ Sue -- I'd hate to lose your perspective on this kind of goofy but, for me anyway, intriguing show. (I confess I do often read your and Jean's comments even on shows I'm not watching because what you ladies have to say is worth the trouble.)

So. Javier is sweating bullets and I'm delighted.

Pilar, Pilar, Pilar. Such a problematic character. Maybe not if you're a guy and can just enjoy looking at her. But honestly, where are the writers taking us with this beauty queen/professional psychologist who hasn't gotten the memo about evolution of sex roles in the past hundred years (or more)? This wide-eyed trembling faun who goes all by herself to confront a crazy man in his boarded-up house? Or keeps toggling between Gonzalo and his wife? I understand why Javier hangs on to her: she's the ultimate trophy wife for him. But it makes no sense for her to stay with him... unless there's something we don't know. Hah.

LA CASA
Thanks Hombre for the 'recapette" and for an explanation of defalcation. I couldn't decide whether it was English or spanish and didn't know where to look it up.

Agree with all the comments of La Dos Novs. I can't tell whether the problem with Pilar is her character or the actress who plays her --to me so unbelievably. For someone who looks like she's scared to death, she certainly takes a lot of risks.(For example, when Gonzalo told her to wait outside, she followed him into Merino's boarded up house.) Maybe her problem is that she is generally playing a character, but not the moments of the part and story.

Anyway, I am also getting tired of these miserable character. But I am still hooked because every episode sets up another mystery, and we still don't know enough to know what really is happening.

MI CORAZON INSISTE - Jueves

Pepe is out of peligo - whew! Lucky for him, when he was about to walk to the light, Chabela jumped in and pushed him back. Thanks, Chabela.

Nice guy Andres agrees to give Daniel some management responsibilities, and if he does well, in a month or so he can get his inheritance.

Lola says she's going to tell Andres the truth, that there's no baby. We'll see. But in the meantime, Debora isn't waiting, she's already told Lola that she, Debbie is expecting (a lie).

I loved when Debbie got all weirded out that her Mom Vicky was getting a rubdown from the young guys. What about you, Debbie, with Marcelo?

Etelvina has discovered Dr. D's den is actually a peepshow headquarters. She's glad he's included her room (oh, you naughty Etelvina!), but she's going to keep this info up her sleeve until she needs it.

And that sneaky Veronica is playing everybody, cleverly getting a job as assistant manager in Andres' company, while pretending to agree to spy for Debbie.

BTW, just as in El Fantasma, I think just about every female character has a new outfit each day, especially the rich ones, but I don't think Lola has repeated yet. I'm going to try to keep track of how many outfits Debbie and Veronica wear.

LA CASA DE AL LADO - Jueves

Wow, things look bad for everyone now. I'm glad I don't live there. Gonzo has lost (for the time being) both Pilar and Ignacia, since he didn't tell Pilar that Javier had the affair with Ignacia. Javier has just been hit with the realization that Pilar knows, too. Plus, getting fired by Renato has apparently left him jobless (doesn't he have other clients?). Eva, though, counsels Renato to take Javier back, since he knows their secrets, whereas Rebeca doesn't.

Yolanda's marriage is on the rocks. Hilda is pregnant, and Emilio doesn't look happy about it. Karen was taken down a notch when Rebeca tore up the photo (after paying for it) and tore into Karen for spying.

Diego and Andrea are unhappy their parents are fighting. Carola is mad at herself for telling Ignacia about Pilar and Gonzalo.

Ignacia was so upset she walked into the ocean. Lucky for us, she walked out. Pilar is so upset she may actually break out of her deer mode.

Even new nurse Teresa, who is giving Leonardo physical therapy, is berated for letting Ignacia escape (and where were the guards?), and I think Teresa is in for something bad (don't know what, just that she's a minor character, like that gardener at the start).

I'm dumping my Nibaldo theory. My latest theory is that the body they buried when Adolfo was "killed", was really Ricardo Merino, Pilar's patient! He's been dead about 9 months, isn't that about how long Adolfo's been dead?

MI CORAZÓN INSISTE - JUEVES

Thanks, Hombre, great capette! I like that you're keeping track of their clothes. The thing I mostly notice is how much tummy Lola is showing, actually because I'm green with envy at the sight of that perfect stomach!

Yes, indeed that Veronica is SO sneaky. She's going to drape herself all over Andrés every chance she gets.

Glad to see Adela completely reject Danny Boy. I think he does care about her in his own way, but his father's snobby example has caused him to treat her badly.

I also liked Chabela escorting Pepe back from the tunnel of white light! Well done!

Soledad looked around for a moment, reacting to either Rod or Lola, I forget which, after they'd left. And the nurse caught her looking less than catatonic.

Is there ANY chance Lola is not going to believe Debora about the pregnancy? Telenovelogica says she'll believe her and reject any overtures from Andrés.

LOS HEREDEROS - JUEVES

This thing has SO jumped the shark. They keep bringing more and more ludicrous stuff into the plot.

Julieta still wants to kill Paula, so she goes to some brujo who gives her a list of things to obtain. I suppose it's hair from a hairbrush, fingernail clippings, like that.

Instead of lascivious behavior in the cabin (how many cabins are there in this hacienda?) in her sexy underwear, Berta is doing some kind of white magic or new age spiritualism to help the Del Monte family. Idiot Pablo interrupts her ritual. He's now gone past lust and seems to have fallen in love with her. He grabs her and kisses her and eventually she kisses back. Darn it! I like her relationship with Modesto.

Predictably, Sofía could not manage to reply to Adela on Paula's laptop - the one she should have taken with her.

FINALLY, Paula tells Juan she may not be a Del Monte. She doesn't understand his reaction, expecting anger that he'd been deceived. Instead he's relieved and pleased at the possibility he may not be the expectant father of a product of incest.

OK, Jean, now I'm 100% in your camp about Beatriz. I hope Simón got his brains from José because he's going to have a rough life if his IQ is comparable to his mother's.

Somehow José manages to continue to evade responsibility for his actions. Gaspar STILL continues to partially believe José was trying to make Paula and Sofía pay. Lucas is a waste of space on the planet and doesn't get it either.

Julieta defends José because all she wants is to blame everything: high fuel costs, global warming, tornadoes in North America, all, all on Paula. She gets so shrill and crazy that Juan actually gives her a reproving look. Please die, Julieta.

LA CASA - JUEVES

For the first time Pilar showed a tiny bid of backbone. I'm afraid it's too much to hope for that she'll throw Javier out. And her hysterical reaction is a bit much considering that she just got it on with Gonzalo.

Rebeca destroyed the photo and threatened Karen, so maybe there's some sisterly feeling there after all.

Let's see if I have this right. Hilda has sex with Emilio, and two days later she's feeling faint. That's some amazing zygote!

LA CASA DE AL LADO -- jueves

Hombre, very ingenious your theory that the body in Adolfo's tomb may be Ricardo Merino. You could be writing this stuff!

Novelera, I was also glad to see Pilar finally showing a spark of life. Maybe we'll be leaving the Bambi phase permanently in the past.

So Rebecca and Carola both have a love/hate relationship with their sisters. Both are consumed with envy; both seduce their cuñados; and both rush to the defense of their sister when an outsider threatens to harm her.

Hombre, I think you're right about nurse Teresa. She probably shouldn't be making any long-range plans right now. She's bumbling her way into too many secrets. There's Leo, for example. It's likely that Leonardo's leg muscles were surprisingly toned because he's faking his disability. The more she imposes her 'therapy' on Leo, the more of a threat she becomes to him. Well, maybe Teresa will luck out and just get fired.

LA CASA --a few minutes to go until the next episode.

Hombre - you might be right about Merino being in Adolfo's grave. Maybe Javier was getting rid of two "birds" with one stone. It seems as though Gonzalo thinks Javier killed Adolfo. But I think Adolfo is alive (and really Leonardo).

I really felt sorry for ignacia last night. That actress is doing a good job, unlike the Pilar actress...
