Teresa Wed 6/1/11 #69 More from our deliriously happy newlyweds...

Hey everyone! Today’s recap is going to have to be somewhat condensed. I am up to my eyeballs in boxes and still have so much to do before I leave. Aaaaand on top of that, I watched the DVRed episode and then promptly (accidentally) deleted it. I could go to youtube, but to be honest, I am short on time so I am going to write from memory. I will do my best to remember everything! Please fill in anything I miss!

We begin with Teresa walking in on Pathetic Paloma and her pathetic play for our hottie profe. Pathetic Paloma leaves and Arturo asks Tere if she slept with Mariano. As usual she evades the question and calls him out on not trusting her. He basically chases her to up to her room and almost bangs the door down when finally she opens it. They will go to Mariano’s and ask him in front of both of them because Arturo believes him more than his own wife. (Her idea. He calls her bluff.) Meanwhile Luisa and Juana are worried and wondering what is up.

Mariano and Martin are at dinner and talking about Teresa and the boda disaster. Martin asks Mariano if he every thought of Aurora as the hot babe that she is. Mar basically says they are just friends. Also Mariano pays for dinner because Martin will help him get contacts. Oh also Arurora called Martin, then sent Mariano a text message.

The happy newlyweds go to Mariano’s and first his padre says that he is not there, but then he pops out of his room anyway. He doesn’t answer the profe’s question but says that if he had married Teresa, he would only be worried about their future, not her past. Mar’s dad is there throughout this whole conversation and it is awkward. After it all happens and they get home, Teresa makes a big stink about how she will not be sleeping in the same bed as him because of the way he offended her.

Then there was a scene with the Caceres. The girls were working hard and Ruben was trying to distract them, they are working too much, because he doesn’t want them to see how he has been hemorrhaging her money and using it for his own things. Also when her mom leaves, Aida and her dad fight about Mariano.

Teresa talked to Juana about everything and asks her not to say anything about the whole Mariano in her past thing. Teresa has also been telling everyone that it was Paloma’s fault that she and Arturo are fighting.

Aurora
seems to be really trying with Martin as there was a scene with flowers and her joking about kissing him—which she does. Mariano told his dad something about missing his opportunity with Aurora—she was single all that time and he was caught up on Teresa.

The next day Teresa has gone to the hospital to thank Mariano for not spilling the beans about their hot noche before the boda. He is short with her and she leans very obviously on the clear door to his office. She runs into Aurora on the way out and pretends she was there to see her. She basically begs her not to say anything that might cause problems with Arturo (who btw was upset that she had already left when he got up.) Aurora points out that this means going along with lies, which is why Paulo left her, does Teresa really want to do that again?

Juana and Arturo go to the vecindad. He talks with Refusio and she is her usual self (annoying), and actually asks if they came back from the honeymoon because Teresa had already been with someone else. (Which she overheard Cutberto saying to Mariano’s papa—standing out the door holding her heart looking like she might have the big one.)

There is a scene where Mariano comes to the Chavez’s door and talks to Refugio and all I could think about what someone’s comment from the other day about Refugio wishing she had Mariano for herself. This scene felt like an amicable break up scene. It was weird. And I swore there was one moment where she looked like she wanted to kiss him. (Was I the only one who saw that? Was I imagining it?) Perhaps I’m exaggerating but they did hug at the end of the conversation.

There was also a scene where Ruben was trying to convince his accountant to tell him everything even though Aida will not have power of attorney. I seem to remember him not getting his way.

And the last scene I remember was two of our manly men (Fernando and Arturo) sippin’ tea and talking about ladies. Well, lady. Teresa to be exact. Fernando says Teresa is the bees knees, smart, super beautiful, etc. Arturo should not let Paloma get in the middle, and that if he doesn’t treat her right, there will be plenty of other man-hunks willing to do it. I also remember missing Fernando’s facial hair.

Of the previews, I remember passionate red love-making with Teresa and Arturo and then a(nother!) forbidden hug between Teresa and Fernando.

Also, this is a reminder that I will not be able to recap next Wednesday... I may not even be able to get to a computer to post anything up here, is there anyone who could do the posting for me? Let me know if you can, I would appreciate it!!!

Muchas Gracias :)

Ahhh its 3am I can't sleep anyway Sam funny recap.

I've defended Refugio a lot in the past finally she did something that was undefendable she ask Arturo if he canceled his honeymoon because he felt (looseness) slipped right into Teresa hahahaha NO SHE DIDN'T that's completely none of her business.
(She had this look on her face like saying it wasn't tight enough?)

And as she is overhearing Cut and Mars dad talk about Tere not exactly being a virgin she looks like shes ready to reunite with Rosita I couldn't help but laugh gurl please who the f"?6;cares if she gave it up to Mariano how lame that news like that could possibly effect her health.

Ok so Refuge finally even irked me other than last night she hasn't been too terrible (big deal she calls Art Licenciado)

Ok I really like Artie Labou but man oh man Mariano was spot on about Arturo he is an "imbesil" what an idiot what did he possibly have to gain asking Mariano if he slept with his wife in the past what a jackass!!!!!

If Mariano says yes Art looks like a dumbass and if he says no Art really looks like a complete dumb ass Teresa was right about him "que tonto" I would say que PEND3JO.

Wow Art may have millions and may be an awesome lawyer racking up big $ but in this battle of hotties MD Mariano is so the Victor and the better man he handled last nights meeting beautifully & made Art feel like a total dumb as well he should.

I love that he didn't answer the question at all he just looked directly at Teresa dismissing Art and letting her know had she chosen him he would not have questioned her past because that is "HER PAST"

Marianos dad was great last night as well straight up asking Arturo are you really asking my son to ventilate your wifes sexual past and Art still didn't have a look of shame or stupidity and before they left Mars dad firmly tells Arturo not to provoke his son and for these two dumb asses Teresa & Art never to come to this home again AWESOME!!!

Art acting like a love sick dying jealousy teenage loser even Mariano at his worst when he was in his early 20's was all aggressive all over protective of Teresa pretty much always had just cause.

Arturo is acting stupid and he is like 35-38 years old how embarrassing but more embarrassing is the fact he thought these were legitimate questions to an ex boyfriend of his wife life has taught this man nothing.

Arturo has been out of the game far too long. He really blew it this time except in the sense that Tiburoncita needs to know that he's not the fool she's taking him for.

At least not para siempre.

The Arturos of the past versions were old men; this would be a lot more believable if he were. But I'd rather look at Sebastian Rulli.

Sam- Great job in the midst of all your packing for your cross country road trip! Good luck with the move.

Did someone step forward yet to take on next Wed's recap, or should we post a discussion page that day?

I'm not going to be so hard on Art because it was Teresa who suggested they go straight to Mariano. He was calling her bluff because in the past he hasn't and gives in to her immediately after she makes such a request. He would have looked like a fool if he had given in to the bluff too, like he has in the past. So it was a lose (give in to Teresa's bluff and not try to find out the truth), lose (have Mariano confirm that he and Teresa did the nasty, and right before she married him), lose (no confirmation from Mariano and looking like a jealous fool) situation. He wasn't going to come out satisfied in any of these scenarios. But this result just gives Teresa more weapons to use against him.

Teresa was REALLY pleading with Mariano with her eyes in that scene. LOL! Lucky her.

I have to re-watch the Refugio/Art scene. I didn't find her offensive in that scene. Just annoying that she asked again if it was marital problems that brought them back to DF. How many times do they have to tell her is was business. But other than that, I found her tone with Art to be gentle once they were sitting down and talking. She even moved towards him when she saw how upset he is.

However, Juana and Luisa were getting on my nerves butting into Art and Teresa's business when they were in the middle of a fight. Speaking to them separately, later, fine. But Juana demanding that Art tell her why he was upset with Teresa while he is following after her just ticked me off. He doesn't owe her an explanation.

One thing in the recap that was likely a typo-- Mayra and Aida are taking away Ruben's power of attorney over Mayra's businesses. That's why he's begging the accountant to still tell him what's going on. Good for the accountant for saying no. Ha!

Glad to see Mariano is realizing that he missed the Aurora boat when he had a chance. He still has a ways to go before his heart is Teresa-free, but he's getting there. It was so funny that he was so peeved that she only sent him a text message after calling Martin and asking him to come over. You snooze, you lose Mariano.

Sam, thank you for the recap, you hit the important points. Good luck on your trip, how exciting!
I do remember a funny scene with Mayra and Aida happily planning something with the company and Ruben looking on horrified, like the Coyote watching as the Roadrunner escapes and his ACME rocket heads right for him. I was wondering what they were doing. Thanks Vivi for revealing that.

Since I was watching with one eye on my work laptop last night, I love the recap review of all the high points. With everything going on, this was just right in giving us the highlights! Have a great trip to your new digs!

I agree, Arturo is getting both manipulated by Tere (her idea for the Mariano trip - backfire!) but he's so nuts in love with Tere, I think the writers are trying to make the point that she has the ability to just take intelligent men and make children out of them.

At least we have Mariano seeing the light of day - both in realizing Toxic Tere isn't worth pursuing, and the woman he should have pursued is Aurora.

I would have to rewatch the Refuse-to-stick-her-nose-out's talk with Mari - but I'm the one who thinks that deep down, she may wish she had someone like a Mariano in her life. I sometimes think her insistence on embracing her poor life is to make herself feel better that she never had the chance to escape like Tere wound up doing. I have seen parents that actually resent the better life their kids attain to with volunteering I've done. Sad but true.

If there is one thing that cracks me up in this TN it's the way everyone listens in to everyone else's conversation...or if they don't hear what's going on, they just come right out and ask like they deserve to know.

Miss Fer's facial hair too. And I agree UA - I'll take Sebastian over someone else anyday - we need our gratitous abs moments (and this TN does supply those thank the heavens to central casting!!)

OT (sort of): I'm active on an etiquette forum with an off-topic folder where we discuss things like entertainment and pets. Of course we also post photos and one of our threads is specifically dedicated to hot male celebrities.

Most of the photos I've posted of our galans have shown most of their assets. Therefore, a number of people have said they always click there first when they see my name as the latest poster. ;)

BTW, word verification for this is: seshedog

Good morning everyone!

I'm going to come down on the side of our early morning Anon, Arturo made a very serious mistake......he has permanently tarnished the reputation of the future mother of his children. (His call, not ours!) This little scene will be the talk of the vecindad. Teresa is a shark, but not a ramera. Mariano was right, her past, a limited one at that, is her past. Unfortunately, now Teresa will bite back, Arturo will really have to pay for this "dumb" mistake.

We haven't talked about this, but what is Teresa wearing these days? She looks a little like a saloon girl from Gunsmoke. Giving Angeligue her due though, she has a beautiful figure, tiny waist and all!

Thanks Sam, you hit the high points using only your memory, great job. Thanks for being so responsible and dependable under duress, you will do well with your new plans.

I've missed Mariano's dad and was glad to see him back. He is such a calm voice of reason and a good person. Liked how he told Refugio that there's no point in her trying to get Armando to be his friend again as Armando will always take Tere's side and he'll always take Mariano's side. Armando's loss. He also called Aurora (or Aurorita as he says) an angel and pointed out how Mar missed an opportunity with her. He liked Aida but was not happy to learn she is the daughter of that good for nothing cheater who deceived Espe and fired them both.

Teresa tarnished her own reputation with that big scene at her hown wedding. She slipped up big time when she decided to go through with the wedding by not having a contingency plan for Mariano's arrival at the iglesia.

The problem with being a chronic liar like Tiburoncita is that you need to spend too much energy keeping track of what you said to whom.

No wonder she hasn't been working.

Excellent recap. I can't believe you got all that from memory. Well done.

I was totally thinking the same thing when Refugio and Mariano were talking about sex and hugging. She totally wants him! Can't blame her, exactly, but weird to watch.

I think Arturo is right to want to clarify things, because the issue is NOT whether Teresa has been intimate with Mariano, but whether she's been lying to him. However, the way he's going about it, making a big public spectacle, is rude and makes both of them look bad. Mariano seems to have turned a corner and is acting like a gentleman, refusing to comment directly and trying to distance himself.

What's wrong with Luisa and Juana? Why the heck would anyone want to get involved in someone else's marital discord? I'd have left the house immediately when they came in fighting. Both those ladies have other places to live; there's no need for them to be there so they should steer clear.

My standards have been so lowered by other telenovelas that I'm now actually surprised when a galán does anything smart. When Teresa was evading, I thought, "Is Arturo going to realize she didn't answer the question?" And then he said, "You didn't answer the question!" Egad, what alternate universe is this?

Call me crazy, but I loved seeing Art mad as h*ll.
Finally, his character is showing some personality. And I find the raging madman quite sexy....
Hope he scares Ter straight. Not too soon though, I still want to see more "steaming" Arturo! Jajajaja

Diann

If no one wants to do a full recap next Wednesday, I can do a summary.

Sam great job from your memory and hope everything goes well with your trip.

ROFL from all of the great comments today.

Why can't Refugio leave well enough alone.

Vivi excellent comments i was LOL from Teresa's dear in the headlights look towards Mariano. Loved that Mariano realizes what he has missed out on with Aurora and i too picked up that he wasn't happy getting Aurora's text after watching her call Martin and talking to him. News Flash Mariano is that Martin is her boyfriend you're not.

Also loved Ramon's response during the confrontation and asking about Aurora and finding out who Aida's father is.I'm getting a strong feeling if Ramon ever hears psycho Aida going off on her rants especially about Espe he'll definitely warn Mariano about trying to have a relationship with her. Didn't he learn from his past toxic relationship.

You have to give Teresa credit she does managed to escape for now being fully caught.

Glad i'm not the only one who misses Fernando's facial hair surprisingly after seeing all of the men on TDA with their week old scruffy looking beards which is turning me off. I did like Fernando's look.

She is definitely losing Aurora because isn't buying her lie about Mariano being so crazy about her and can't forget her crap. That's why he showed up at her wedding and then she told Aurora how much Paloma is causing problems in her marriage and she warned Aurora not to tell Martin what they talk about because he's friends with pathetic Paloma.

Yay! Thanks for volunteering Julia. Blu, I hear that you also might be able to do a quickie recap on Wednesday. If so, I'd be happy to post for you if you e-mail to me.

If Sam is not able to continue recapping once she's settled in NY, we may need to decide on a permanent Wed solution. I really hope Sam can continue because her recaps are wonderful (even from memory).

Thank you for the recap Samantha! I hope everything goes well for you in your new place.

Julia:

"I think Arturo is right to want to clarify things, because the issue is NOT whether Teresa has been intimate with Mariano, but whether she's been lying to him."

I completely agree. This is not a tiny lie either, this man interrupted their wedding and has told Arturo time and again that Teresa does not love him. The posibility of Teresa lying to him about being with Mariano can also open a posibility of Mariano's supposed lies being true and that means his whole marriage would be a scam (which unfortunately for him it is).

Arturo knew Teresa had a past and he didn't care about it, that was covered in his conversation with Fernando before. What he is afraid of is the kind of past that would nullify their present by illustrating that his beloved wife does not return his feelings and trust.

This is a man who has not had a relationship in many years after he was left at the altar by a fiancée. He may look well from the outside but it is obvious his wounds were never all that healed inside.

Was it okay to go to Mariano's to find out the truth? No, but Teresa was the one who suggested that, they wouldn't have gone if she hadn't. So she is part of the blame if her reputation is tarnished by that: for playing with Mariano and Arturo, for lying about her relationship with Mariano and for suggesting visiting Mariano as the way they to resolve things.

Jarocha

Samantha, thanks for the recap. I thought Refugio was looking at Mariano as the son she'd never had. But, hey, Mariano is one smoking hunk so you never know...

On the vecindad showdown between Arturo, Mariano and Teresa, I just think it is terrible to march your WIFE (the future mother your children, his words not mine) down to some neighborhood and demand answers to a sexual question. Things like this need to be settled at home, not in such a public manner, it doesn’t matter who made the first suggestion. Through the years I have learned to roll with the punches, but I’d have a hard time forgiving something like that. Like we say of Teresa, it isn’t so much what she does, but how she does it, that goes for Arturo as well. That was no way to ferret out a lie. Yes, Teresa is a liar, but not a ramera, she comes off as both in this! I agree, both of their reputations are tarnished. Oh well, this dern novela is FUN!, isn’t it.

Fernando is pacing himself. I thought it was funny that he basically told Arturo , if he doesn’t treat her right, there will be plenty of “man-hunks” (thanks Sam) who will! Fernando, know any volunteers?

On Mariano, when does he plan to stop saying that Teresa “is the love of his life”? After all she has done, he needs to put her in another category, perhaps the “mistake” of his life. I’m glad he is turning toward Aurora though.

I can’t sub on Wednesday. Blu, I reminded Vivi about your hilarious Mi Pecado recaps, but if we have Julia, no need to worry about it, maybe another time.

Thank you Samantha for the recap and especially having to do it from memory. At first, I wondered would Refugio tell Arturo, "I warned you" when she asked if they returned from the honeymooon because of marital problems.

Pathetic Paloma is still trying to figure out a way to break up Arturo's already strained marriage. I wonder will Arturo take Fernando's advice. From the looks of the previews, Teresa and Arturo kiss and make up (wow those scenes looked hot that is unless it's Arturo's fantasy) and yet is beginning her slow seduction of Fernando.

Loved the Mayra/Aida scene where they are going over the finances and giggled (not for long when they find out how he's been bilking her money) all the while Ruben sulked.

Diann, I'm still firmly on Team Arturo. When he looked at Teresa with his eyes blazing, I needed a fan LOL.

Samantha, a recap from memory, wow...what an excellent job. And with a pending move, you have gone above and beyond, thanks so much.

When Fer was talking to Arturo, he seemed to be fudging some answer regarding Teresa. Because he knows full well what she does (seductive looks and words with Fer)) behind Arturo's back. So in the previews, it looks like Tere may be thinking of movin' in on Luisa's territory with Fer.

Again, why is Juana staying with Tere now that Tere and Aruro are married? I know Arturo wants Juana there so Tere doesn't have another reason to visit the vencidad.

I am enjoying all the comments as well.

LOL I have way too much time on my hands but I just found out on twitter that Televisa is paying the reporters so that their shows get better ratings than what they are truly getting and to lower the ratings for the other networks. This means that their novelas have even worse ratings than what everybody thought and a novela from TV Azteca called Cielo Rojo is actually beating Televisa (with TDA) in the "horario estelar" for the first time in who knows how long. I'm glad because I'm loving it and the production deserves it and I'm glad Mejía is getting a reality check. Plus, Edith González's acting beats Victoria Ruffo's anytime.

Jarocha

Jarocha is this just for Mexico? Because i wouldn't think that's possible in the U.S. with the FCC and the Nielsen ratings that is used over here?plus i believe that would be violating the FCC laws over here too.Considering some of the crappy shows on American TV nowadays the networks bigs would have a field day if that was possible to bribe getting better ratings for their crappy shows.

Vivi thank you for the offer but i believe Julia is going to cover Wednesday.

Sandy thank you for the recommendation too.

Thank you for the recap! Wonderful job, and all from memory!

I didn't know what to think of Professor Hottie and Teresa going over to Mariano's house. I know that Professor Hottie did it because he was spitting mad and also because it was an honesty issue, not about whether Teresa had a past. (He doesn't strike me as that kind of hypocrite.) But it was such a trainwreck and so embarrassing!

I too miss Fernando's facial hair. I didn't expect that, as often the scruffy facial hair thing is not an asset with most men, but it really worked for him.

Blu: Yes, just for México. The rating is messured by IBOPE which is a Brazilian enterprise that gives informs of ratings to all of or at least most of the countries in Latin America. However, they don't publish the ratings, they just deliver their reports to their clients. Reporters and network executives are the ones that make those numbers public. Since Televisa owns most of the publications that run in México they can decide what to put in them for public knowledge.

Jarocha

I once read that Nielsen could get true ratings through cable companies because they could set up their equipment to measure everything being viewed or recorded at any given time. All they would need to do is get demographic information from every household they serve. That would lay a lot of questions to rest.

However, this would probably mean that anyone who doesn't have cable doesn't get consideration.

Samantha: Thanks for the dedication and a terrific blow by blow from memory!

Urban the Nielsen ratings are gathered not from the cable companies but from a electronic chip installed in some TV's. Once that TV is bought from a customer it picks up the signals from TV's in a certain radius of the TV set . The chip capabilities is that it can determine what each TV is watching at any given time.

Thanks everyone for the nice comments. Today has been a crazy day, busy busy busy. I did my best from memory but just before I was falling alseep last night I remembered a conversation between Espe and Mar about how the hate their former lovers (Rub and Tere) but they could not forget them.
The move is so soooooon!!!!! And I should be able to recap when I get over there, I can't see why not?? Either way I will keep you all updated.
Thanks again for volunteering next wednesday Julia!

Blu, I know how it's done. I also know that the household and demographic samples -- while representative in percentages -- are very small. This is probably one of the reasons that ratings numbers are what they are.
