Alborada, 7/28/2011. Cap. 42

Today's episode is covered in Melinama's Recap #14, Thursday segment, at this link.

On YouTube, haguilar78's clips for Cap 42 start at this link.

Thank you, Carlos, for today's picture. And look! Rafael moves to the palace and right away he gets a new toy! A shoe! Lucky kid.

Carlos's caption: "See?... Uncle Diego DID NOT put a scorpion in your shoe!"

Paula,

I'll offer up a suggestion for a caption for this picture:

"See?... Uncle Diego DID NOT put a scorpion in your shoe!"

I just started watching today's episode... a duel between Diego and Cristobal? Bring it on.

Carlos

Thanks to our hostess Paula and our photographer Carlos. Good caption, Carlos. It is always a good idea to check your shoes when you are in hostile territory just to be on the safe side. In ''Dona Bella'' , a character killed her pesky, rich, old hubbie by putting a scorpion in his bed. Ewwwww. Hip's lines : ''Who are you ? Who am I ? Where am I ? ''

Every time Luis goes out of town sth happens to Hipólita.

Great picture and perfect caption. Thanks Carlos.

Yes, a duel between Cristobal and Diego! Regardless of what Clotilde said I think Cris could take Diego with one arm tied behind his back.

It was funny watching Rodrigo squirm while Diego fondled the girls. He's got to be wondering what in the heck he's gotten himself into.

The Captain of the Guard is a crook. I'm pretty sure he was among the soldiers that stole Rafael from Hipolita on the trip. I recognized his voice at the time.

Paula, thanks so much for posting these!

Is Manuela the only servant that goes into Juana's rooms? Surely, there must be some other maids that go in there to clean up who can gossip with the servant guys and tell them Juana's hiding a baby. The servant guys will add one plus one and share the news with Luis that his mama stole his baby and had his woman beaten into a stupor. And both are in the house.

Did I hear right that Juana is planning on moving Rafael to a new location? What is her end game with the kid? Does she plan on raising him in secret and then springing him on Diego and Luis 18 years later as the new/future Conde?

Vivi, they ar emoving him to the new location to make believe he was kidnaped. Gasca is to write the ransom note. then Juana is going to "Pay" the ransom and tell Gasca when to bring Rafael back. You have to give it to Rafael he's a hell of a kid. No normal child stays as quiet ashe does even when being kidnpaed by a bunch of strangers.

gracia to Paula and Carlos

Carlos, good caption! I added it to the picture (finally).

Already the servants know. Thursday Cirilo (Luis's valet) was gossiping with Mirtha, and Mirtha told Espy about Hipo. But didn't Cirilo also tell Mirtha that Rafael was there? Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Sylvia~~~Yes, the guards who took Rafael met the Captain and handed him Raf. Then, the Captain handed him off to Gasca. During all these transfers, Raf never made a peep. Amazingly creepy. You'd think that the always unsmiling Back in Black Gasca would scare any kid witless.

Susanlynn, one of the soldiers told Gasca that he slipped the kid a mickey (té). Either he or Gasca (I can't remember which) said he hoped he didn't overdose him.

Carlos

Yikes. Thanks, Carlos. I hope that nobody did that to the little actor in reality. He seemed so calm and relaxed. I'd be a little skittish if guys on horseback were passing me around in the middle of the night.....Okay...I know what you're thinking...not if the guys were Luis and Marcos. Heh.

The servants only seem to know about Hip being in the palace, although they know the baby was taken. I think Gasca is the only one who knows Rafael is in the palace. Thanks for clearing up the plan for the fake kidnapping and ransom that Juana and Gasca are hatching. I was only half paying attention to their scene.

Little Rafa must have been really comfortable with the cast (and the horses). My friend’s 1 year old is like that. Totally at ease, independent, and can have a good time without needing to see mom or dad in her line of vision. A kidnapper’s dream.

Oh my, I totally missed that the kidnapping soldiers said they drugged the child. I know back in olden times it wasn't totally unheard of to slip babies a touch of laudanum (in certain situations) to keep them quiet.
