Triunfo del Amor #159 7/5/11 Just FF>> to the end....trust me.
- Maria tries to convince Fer that Cruz loves her and she shouldn't be pushing him away. Fer says no. Ever since the recording career started things have been different. Hardly home, stopped coming with her to therapy. Fer says she even saw Fer and Diana-ho kissing.
- Millie gets the word about the operation. Jarochas come back from someplace with the gossip rag. Millie mini-freaks.
- Cruz storms into Diana-ho's office. He's peesed.
- Os is leaving the house. He has no other choice. He tells Vic she has every right to be happy. Vic is confused. Os says she won't forgive him. She says no, she's forgiven him. She forgave him a long time ago and just didn't realize it. For her part everything is forgiven (srsly? We put up with all that crap and you say you forgave him a long time ago? grrrrr. Damn you TdA...I can't quit you!) He was right, she can't be forgiven if she is not capable of forgiving. Os asks if she has forgiven him with all her heart. She's not just saying words into the wind? Yup she really has. No bitterness or anything. She doesn't remember how much he hurt her (or something like that.)
- Cruz is still fussin'. I don't pay close attention to what Diana-ho has to say. She slimes on him. She tells him she can make him a big star or ruin him. His choice. He gives her the stink eye, pushes her away and leaves. Diana-ho tells herself he will eventually fall for her "charms." pppht.
- Maria asks Fer is she's talked to Cruz. She says no. Maria holds up her story with Max as an object lesson. Confront and Clarify is her motto....yeah...riiiight.
- Don Tonto Joel and Jarochas while Chente convinces Napo to declare himself to Millie.
- Os asks about Dr. Voice. Vic is happy when she's with him. Warm fuzzies blah blah blah. She's just not sure if it's love. Os won't stand in her way if her happiness is with Dr. Voice. (I'm Team Os....just sayin')
- Vic flashes back to the good times and the bad times with both Os and Dr. Voice. She decides to go talk to PJP.
- Dr. Voice is thinking of Vic. He lerves her. He cancels the rest of his appointments. He's gonna....
- Napo is still muy pollón, but he wants Millie to marry him. She has to think about it.
- ....take a walk and remember his first wife who conveniently told him to find someone after she goes. Since his wife died, he hadn't found a woman that could make him feel the way Vic did. I think he's gonna make her choose between him and Os (I'm team Os, this means Vic will end up with Voice.)
- PJP tells Vic to let her heart guide her.
- Voice is back home after his walk and Leo comes to visit.
- Gui is whining to Burnie about Os screwing up his premiere. Gui kinda has her by the you know whats because of the DVD. She sort of hopes he goes to jail and gets a taste of what she suffers. She hates traitors like him. Gui reminds her about her role in the kidnapping. Burnie finally dismisses him. Gui makes a threat as he leaves. Burnie just says they'll both go down. After he leaves she tells her letter opener that no one can destroy Burnie de Iturbide.
- Max visits PJP for some counsel too. Max is torn between his two moms. They talk moms for a bit. PJP says we've both got crazy moms, but we need to be grateful they gave us life.
- Leo whines to Dr Voice about hurting Max and her problems quitting alcohol. She tells Dr. Voice he doesn't understand what it's like. He says he does because he to was once duhn duhn duhn an alcoholic!
- We get a random scene with the thugs who have a phone video of Linda-ho's "accident." He's talking about it 'cause he saw a girl that reminded him of Xi (but she was disguised, right?) He says he would totally remember/recognize her if he saw her.
- Speaking of Xi. She and Gui blah blah in the parking deck. She gets all "how was the premiere?" He pulls out the dagger that is supposed to be a prop. Xi cuts her self, bleeds. They get turned on. Ewww.
- Dr. Voice helps Leo with her affirmations so she won't be a drunk anymore.
- At a magazine stand, Max sees the article about Diana-ho and Cruz at...who conveniently walks up. Max yells at him. Cruz says it's a lie. Max reminds Cruz that the whole Linda business was a direct result of fame. People will prey on Cruz. Max will not stand by and watch his sister suffer like his mom did. Cruz says he's headed over to get everything cleared up if Max wants to come along.
- Burnie hears about Os' accident on the set. She says it's divine punishment that he deserves.
- Max and Cruz are in the magazine offices and they want a retraction. The editor tells Cruz Diana-ho was the "source." Cruz wants them to print that he is happily married to his florecita. Later, Max asks Cruz if sacrificing his happiness with Fer is worth the fame.
- Vic and Fer are gabbing in the hospital. Max brings Cruz in and asks Vic if she will give them a little privacy. Fer asks who's side Max is on. Max says the side of truth. Before Max leaves, he tells Fer not to be impulsive and to listen. Cruz tries to explain. Fer sings her "I'm a cripple" song. Cruz begs. Fer tells him to leave. He leaves. They each cry on opposite sides of the door.
- After the commercial break, Nati and Maria are talking on the phone. Nati is telling Maria that Cruz is packing and getting ready to leave forever. Maria repeats this info... that he's leaving for Rancho Childe (?) Luckily Fer eavesdrops and hears that part before Maria continues the convo outside Fer's room. Fer drags herself out of the bed and into the wheelchair. She dresses and sneaks out of the hospital. The takes a cab to the bus station. We see her begging to get past security. She is denied, but a passenger with a question distracts the guard. Fer wheels her way to the terminal where Cruz is sitting in his bus waiting for it to leave. Of course, he doesn't see her. She keeps screaming "Cruz!" She decides to get up out of the chair. Several minutes of struggling, falling, crawling and me sitting on the edge of my seat screaming inwardly "Cruz!!!! Look!!! Loook!!!!" (Hubs was asleep, I couldn't yell out loud.) Finally Cruz turns around and sees Fer struggling. Several minutes of Cruz begging the bus driver to open the door. I'm screaming too. Finally Cruz gets of the damn bus and runs to his florecita. Smoochies, mi riqueza and love talk. I'm squeeing and ginning like a fool.
- Vic is gonna triumph
- Max and Voice face off
- The cat fight we've been waiting for!!

I'm on Team Os, too! I want Osvaldo to end up happy - it's interesting that producers are that influenced by public opinion. I'm glad I can enjoy the character without knowing anything about the actor's personal scandal.

I had a great discussion with Jarocha on the Teresa page about meh-jia and it seems as of right now he has only made a pilot of the remake pf CDL with William Levy and that one might be in a holding pattern for now. Two straight bombs and they want this same guy to handle one of the all time favorite classics of a novela? We'll see how this turns out.
If Televisas was smart i wouldn't let Meh-jia near any type of primetime novelas ever again if he wants to continue to produce his crap have it schedule for the afternoon or the midnight hour.
As one who has had to miss so much of this TN, right now, there just seems like a huge disconnect from what we saw in the beginning and what is happening now.
It could be just me and the fact that I have had to miss so much, but in all seriousness...what happened?!
My fondest hope is that we will see that HANDSOME Diego in a TN near us very, very soon.
Susanita
Now there's a hint he might put Vic with Dr. Voice based on a poll? I think wild horses would have drag me to ever watch a novela produced by this man ever again in my entire life.
I suggested to Jarocha earlier in our comments on the Teresa page that Univision needs to go back to putting lite and comedy novelas back into the 7pm slot and let the more drama adult theme novelas have the primetime slots. My suggestion i know it's too late but i would have moved TDA to 7pm timeslot when Llena ended it's a comedy anyway even though it wasn't meant to be one.
Kept Teresa at 8pm followed by CME and perhaps they would be getting better ratings.
What i still find unbelievable is that those who have watched FELS still say that one is worst than this one OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How worst can you get from this? never mind i forgot we're talking about Meh-jia that says it all.
That fancy dagger will reappear.
I think that one of the themes of this novela is personal growth through learning from one's mistakes. Either you grow or your die. The following characters experience growth:
-- Osvaldo
-- Victoria
-- Maria
-- Max
-- Fernanda*
-- Juan Pablo (should have happened sooner)
The jury is still out on Leonela.
These folk never will:
-- Bernarda
-- Guillermo
-- Ximena
-- Roxana
-- Diana
I haven't figured out what will happen to Roxana, but I'm dead sure that Diana will lose her job.
Here's hoping somebody at the bus station took photos or a video of Cruz and Fernanda and sends them pronto to Televisa and that Osvaldo helps Cruz raise hell over Diana.
*Back in the beginning I never thought I'd be rooting for Fernanda; remember we called her "the Ferbeast"? What a brat she was. Despite the many flaws of this series, Livia Brito has managed to change our minds about her in her first major part. Bitchiness, a wheelchair, a fabulous galan, and now a catfight... some chicks have all the luck.
Why we (or I, anyway) watch novelas: the last ten minutes with Fer roaring through the bus station, reuniting with Cruz and walking again. If that doesn't float your boat, even in the middle of this mess, you have been ruined by too many bad, bad novelas. I was glad to see that I hadn't gone over to the really dark side as a result of Mejia novelas.
By the way, in EPDA, the daughter does NOT walk again. I thought at the time that was a brave way for a novela to handle the issue. More realistic in many ways and more in keeping with general theme of forgiveness.
I also think this was a meatier role in TdA despite other factors.
And last night's shot of William Levy involved a significantly defined six-pack. He must have been working out (more than usual).
Thanks Sara. As usual, you're on top of your game with this (relatively) unrewarding episode.
My vote is still with Oz. He's acknowledged his mistakes; he's paid for it a thousand times over. He can't end up with Leonela as that would simply be a step backward. He's advanced so much in his own life. The TN rules say he should be with crybaby Vic, but I don't see Vic's personal growth anywhere approaching Oz level of growth.
Agree that Brito has done an excellent job with her character.
Now...for the silly complaints:
JP: needs a shave so we can see that beautifully chiseled face of his (Oz has a lovely chiseled face, too)
Fabian: what happened to his story line? Doesn't he deserve more than ending up with Lucy who just throws in a few words now and then?
Maximiliano: Looks so nice in that kayak, but also looks like he is in desperate need of a bath; shave, and an improvement upon the bedhead look.
JP: Please...let us see more of Diego in the future!
Leonela: Why is she still hanging around? Wasn't she only to be on for not more than 15 or so episodes?
Padilla: Does anyone know he is dead?
Blockhead JuanJo: I read in one of the recaps that there are going to be little BlockHeads?! PUH-LEEZE! Who cares?! What a waste of a part for Nathi to get stuck with the national football hero...A WASTE!
Eva: I'm not clear on what has happened to her plan nor am I clear on exactly what is going on with Fausto. This story line seems to have taken a detour.
So, now we are in ultimos capitulos. Does it not seem that there are still a lot of loose ends?
Oh...one more question: I saw the Roxana woman on Daily Motion speaking like she had her jaws wired shut. There was a clear difference in how the actriz was speaking. What happened to her?
Susanita
Gimmee an "S"!
Gimmee a "V chica"!...
...GO TEAM O-S-V-A-L-D-O!
And GO TEAM S-A-R-A! Thanks for the terrific recap.
As Traveling Lady says:
" Why we (or I, anyway) watch novelas: the last ten minutes with Fer roaring through the bus station, reuniting with Cruz and walking again."
UrbanAnthropologist, I really liked your "grow or die" analysis. And I'm also looking forward to the 'bofetada heard round the barrio' tonight. I suspect the replay button will be getting a little bit of a work-out.
I love The Voice but in this case I'm on Team Os. He has learned his lesson and earned his happiness. And Vic has forgiven him, did so a long time ago but didn't realize it. i suppose that is plausible.
Turns out The Voice was an alcoholic. How plot convenient is that. To be honest in that flashback scene before his accident I wondered about that. I wondered if he was really asleep when his kids came to wake him up or if he was passed out but I don't remember seeing any bottle and it wasn't mentioned. I guess the alcoholic driver in the accident was The Voice himself.
So PJP tells Max they both have crazy mothers - well what took him so long to figure it out. Now if he would just forget trying to save her and let God mete out her well deserved punishment (which will come as a terrible shock to her) life will be good.
And we have the bitch slap hear around the world to look forward to. Bring Fer.
Susanita- I love the list. It really brings home the fact that there are still so many loose ends!
But even more annoying is that I have really, really enjoyed this basura laden ride. I just couldn't (and can't) stop watching. I can already tell I will miss it. *sniff*
Livia Brito is amazing and she really portrayed the growth of the Fer character amazingly well.
I'm on team Os also and i don't see any personal growth on Victoria's part so maybe if she does end up with Dr. Voice he deserves her then.
Padilla is dead set up by Bernie and Eva and killed by the cops.
Fabian character wasn't supposed to last this long so i feel the Lucy character was a thrown in to pair him up with someone at the end.
JJ and Nati's story don't care what a waste of a brilliant mind on that dope.
I don't get what Eva is up with her revenge plans and it makes no sense why Bernie is loose and Fausto is locked up.
I don't know why almost every man in this novela had the unshaven look but it is so much a turn off and not attractive in the least. They all need to shave darn it probably a memo from clueless Meh-jia go with the unshaven look women love that.
The actress playing Roxana i can't figure it out maybe she is having dental work or perhaps her dentures are slipping as she says her lines.Something is going on in there not sure what it is?
Yes the Leonela character in this has overstayed her welcome but she did the same in EPDA.
It now looks like "La fuerza del destino" will follow TDA, can't be soon enough for me. "Dos hogares" apparently will follow TDA in Mexico.
Any idea when Teresa will end?
Maldito, I slept through Fernanda standing, but I'm sure it will be repeated tonight, I hope.
I guess I am on team Os but in a different way. I don't want him to stay with Vic. He has suffered so much at her hand and I don't think that deep down she has ever forgiven him. She is the type that would be forever waiting for the next anvil to fall. She would never let him forget what "HE" did to her. He deserves so much better than anyone we have seen. Maybe the perfect mate is just around the corner for him.
I loved the old Fer finally coming to the surface.
Rosemary
I like Leonela; I hope she cleans up and ends up with someone good, preferably Herberto. I want Os to go with Vic. I don't dislike her as much as some of you, probably because I tuned in late and did not see how mean she was to Maria.
I agree with all the comments about the male unshaven look. I shudder every time the poor Fer actress has to kiss the Cruz actor. Her poor chin must be raw.
Cindy
BTW, yesterday when I was shopping I saw something much worse than the unshaven look on this series' galans: Shaved face, shaved head, but the guy left the sideburns on.
Yuck.
I saw the Sweet William and the Kayak clip last night. Am I seeing things? He's wearing his ultimas semanas haircut, so should I assume we aren't seeing the handsome athletic galan from the beginning? He looks bored, tired and not really into any of it--as are a lot of us.
NOK
Sure, she is super bright and was in a rigorous study trajectory, BUT, I think she was buried in her studies because she didn't think any one would ever fall in love with her. Her family depended on her and she would have to make her own way in the world.
Secretly and not so secretly, she envied Linda and Maria and was thrilled when Maria got pregnant.
When the relationship with Fabian didn't go anywhere, and JuanJo finally responded to her, she was ecstatic. I could almost picture her throwing her books in the air and shouting--I'm going to be a bride--a wife--and a mother.
It's nothing to be ashamed of, many of us have kind of done that. (I was in college in the 60s and it was the sort of career track most of us were in--go to college, find a husband.)
Later on, that college degree came in handy, when families needed two-incomes to stay afloat and women could have meaningful careers and started to pierce the glass ceiling.
I don't think Nati's degree (I guess she'll have to finish, though) will go to waste. After all, JuanJo's legs could give out any time now and what has he to fall back on?
Excuse my rant. It's over now.
NOK
I just hope David Zepeda shaves.
I don’t understand why me? I only posted few times and I always respected everyone’s opinions, I know I’m a TN rookie I still don’t understand why TDA is different than others TN. I guess I will learn soon or later

UA: Thanks for the infos and for the mental visual on the man you saw yesterday. Could not stop laughing!
Blusam: So appreciate those updates. :)) Truthfully, I'd rather see Oz with someone else. Cry Baby Vic doesn't deserve him. He has stood by her so many times; has helped her so many times, and then, out of the clear blue, she tells him that she has forgiven him? I don't know...somehow...I just don't trust her on this one. Thanks, too, for confirming that I was not missing the boat on Roxana. She really sounded strange.
Vario: You sre TOO funny! Agree...David Zepeda had better shave! I don't mind a little five o'clock shadow. When done well...it's quite the sexy thing, but Cruz, Maximiliano, and Padre JP just look like they need a bath...yesterday! When you know more about the new Padre JP TN, please let us know. I do not want to miss it!
NovelaMaven: Amiga...I, too, am waiting for the BOFETADA heard round the world!
Susanita
My vote would be for Vic and Os to end up together.
Rosa- Almost all telenovelas are addictive in some way. The drama, romance, and the villains are great to watch. So do not feel bad if you are enjoying this tn. I find that the first tn you watch always holds a special place anyway.
What makes this tn a not so great to bad tn, in comparison to ones that are considered good to great, are many things:
- Main characters that continuously make bad choices.
- Lack of good/juicy dialogue.
- Lack of continuity of storyline (all the loose ends and dropped storylines people mention).
- Storylines that drag with no real plot development.
- Over the top characters and storylines that are not amusing or entertaining.
- Abundance of throw-away plots and/or characters.
- Bad actors/acting.
- And perhaps the biggest sin of all, remaking a favorite/popular tn, and committing all the errors above.
