Teresa Mon 7/18/11 #99 Tere Takes Art to Heart and Learns that Aida Got Mariano to Play Spouse; Cat and Mouse with El Bigote Reaches Stage 2

Capítulo 99

As Viewerville returns to continue their television trek through Europe and once again vicariously  enjoy the sites of gay delightful Pareeees, Teresa has taken full measure now not only of Arturo’s wallet, but of his masculine ...er...savoir faire; she’s finally taken Arturo to heart and to her bed.  (Sigh...Viewerville will never look at those male bottoms in a pair of form-fitting jammies the same way again.) Mariano who??? If anybody knows how to make those satin sheets steam and sizzle on his own turf and terms in the city of luhhhhvvv, it’s Art.

The next day the newlyweds continue sight-seeing.  So does Viewerville, who is admittedly a bit jarred to note that in the font of fashion, somebody’s dressed Art now in a retro ‘60’s schoolboy parka while Tere looks like she just walked off the set of a remake of Germinal.  Again, plaudits for Teresa’s making it  through twelve hours along those cobble-stone plazas in spiked CMF boots.

Half-way around the world, Pati and Johnny pay a visit to Mariano and Aurora at the hospital.  They have decided it’s time to move onto the next stage in their marriage and actually consummate the darned thing.   They are interested in proper methods of birth-control and safe sex it would seem.  FF>>

Meanwhile, back in Paris, Art gets a worrisome call from the office about Saenz’s case.  He tells Teresa it’s not going very well. Tere tells Arturo that she doesn’t want history to repeat itself.  She’s more in love than ever now with him, she says, since coming to Europe, and they’re finally on the honeymoon that Saenz scotched for them the first time.  He promised her they’d be in Europe several months in order to salvage their marriage--and then this again, she wheedles!  (Damned right!  What do you have employees for, Art, if they can’t handle things while you’re gone!)  One kiss and poor Saienz can (and probably will) rot in jail for all he cares now.   !Viva las luna de miel!

Back in Mexico, Vanessa worries that Aurora isn’t taking enough time for herself.  She seems to work all the time and has no social life.  Look what happened to the ex-hubby, Hector, after all.  Aurora promises she’ll work on it.  FF>>
Aeeeeda has gone high-tech and, a proud member of the jet set, prints out Mom’s divorce papers on her new ink jet.  She instructs Mama not to let Ruben know about the secret audit they’re having done.  In fact, she says, just tell him that she’s so depressed over the whole Espe and divorce situation that she hasn’t been in the mood to take a look at any of the boxes of documents she had brought home.  Mayra agrees.  Then, Genoveva stops by for a chat at that point.  Mayra says she’s decided not to go back with Rube.  They’re splitsville.

Back at Aurora’s, Vanessa and she mention that Juana refuses to see Hector while Vee is staying there.  Vanessa says well that’s Juana’s problem.  She should know better and try fighting for the man she loves.  Aurora asks why her mother’s chosen the word “luchar” [to fight] in this case.  Does this mean she’s planning on trying to get back with her daddy, because he’s in love with Juana, FYI.  Vee hints broadly that at times she’s been hopeful, but then quickly changes the subject and the two of them head out to go shopping.  FF>>

Aeeeda brings Mayra the divorce papers to sign.  Gen is secretly elated.  “--Oh, so you’ve finally decided to divorce him?”  “--Yes!  I should have done it the first time you suggested it!”

Across town, Ramon and Mariano eat breakfast together.  Mar tells him that, out of the blue, Aeeeda suggested they move in together.  Ramon doesn’t understand how young women today can be so forward when years ago they’d slap your face if you brought something like that up.  They agree that times have changed.   He asks why move in when Mariano and she could just get married.  (Works for me!)  Mar doesn’t want to get married now, he says, since he doesn’t have anything really to  offer and he’s learned he’ll need to have a small fortune socked away, anyway.  Ramon says, well not every girl is like Teresa!  Aeeeda’s a perfect example.  (I wonder if those blinders Ramon wears are permanent biological appendages or not.)  He cheers up and says, well then Mariano might as well move in and get to know her better!  It will give him a chance to know if he wants to take the next step or not.

That night at the Alcazar’s again, Aurora gives Hector a sweater that apparently Vanessa had chosen for him.  She doesn’t understand what went wrong and why Vee left if she cared so much for him.  He says obviously she didn’t or she would never have left.  Even if that were true, it’s too late.  He loves Juana and will continue to try to make her see she’s wrong about him and to accept him back again.

Time passes.  Teresa and Arturo continue their travels through Europe.  Espe gets out of the hospital.  Aida and Mariano continue dating.  El Bigote continues begging to be forgiven and Mayra continues to throw him out of her house on his miserable ass-etts.  Vee and Aurora enjoy their time together while Hector seems to enjoy the sight from a distance.  Johnny continues doing work for Fito.  Hector continues to show up at Juana’s and to get the stink-eye.  Espe becomes emotionally closer to Hernan her Galan.  Johnny and Pati gradually acquire the minimal necessities in their apartment.

Springtime. Tere and Art have to return to Mexico.  He promises to bring her back to Paris every year.  Teresa’s thrilled.  Art was a slow-learner but has finally figured it out.  He gets big, sensual smoochies instead of gold stars now for his efforts.

Espe tells Pati that she’s now 5 ½ months along.   Today she’s going for a sonogram and will find out the sex since she’s been dying to know.  She and Pati discuss how Juana’s feeling really down these days.  Pati tells her that Cutberto has been writing to Johnny, but nothing for Juana.  She doesn’t know what to say to Juana, if anything.  Johnny runs in all excited just then about something.  They’ve just gotten a second hand fridge for the apartment.  (It’s the little things, you know?)  Once they get the stove they’ll be able to live like a regular married couple. ( I say not if Refugio has anything to say about it!  No wonder Teresa’s been so mentally screwed up!!)  FF>>

At the hospital, Mariano tells Aurora that the pediatric wing is finally finished. Happy, happy!  Joy, joy! They need to let Martin know in case he wants to be there for the opening.  Aurora doesn’t really want to be the one to tell him, though, since they agreed not to talk to each other again (while she was undecided about him).  Mar smiles at her.  (huh?)FF>>

Across town, Luisa and Fernando are cuddling on the couch.  He wonders, since Tere and Art return the next day, if Lu will continue living there with him or return to Arturo’s.  (Does she ever use that apartment Art bought for her?)  Nando wants her to stay with him forever and always.  (Then get a friggin’ ring, dude!)

It’s night time in Paris.  Art and Tere have been making up for lost time, it seems.  A bit later she’s thrilled that she’s dreaming about him.  He ‘s thrilled that she’s thrilled and says they should only dream and think about one another.  He flashes a sexy smile.  There’s more passionate lip-locking as t.v. screens throughout Viewerville continue to fog.

Art and Teresa return to Mexico City with their bags full of gifts for everyone.  She tells Lu and Nando that she’s now the happiest woman in the world and she owes it all to Nando for convincing her to go to Europe with Arturo.  Both couples kiss, but Tere can’t keep herself from peeking over at Lu and him while everybody else has their eyes closed.

Mayra, meanwhile, gives the bad news to Aeeeda: Papi really is a swindler!  He’s stolen millions of pesos from Mayra--all of his princesa’s inheritance, or nearly!  There’s plenty of solid proof to put him behind bars for years.  Yeah, Tere may come from the wrong side of the tracks, but at least her family is honest as the day is long.

Tere heads first to Juana’s with gifts.  Juana tells her that Pati is now her assistant which frees her up to water the plants around the vecindad.  Why that when Mariano used to do that job?  Well, seems Mar doesn’t live in the vecindad any longer.  He’s moved out and moved on, rather, moved in, with that cheeky chica.  No matter!  Who?   Really???

At the hospital, Mariano is muy pleased to tell Aurora that Rubigote’s kept Martin well-informed during his absence and that no, he’s decided not to return for the opening of the children’s wing.  (Something tells me that Aeeeda’s being used as a place-holder for Aurora, the poor little rich girl.)  Mar looks like the Cheshire cat.

Tere needs to know!!  With whom and where has he gone to live????  Juana says why does it matter so much?  Well, anyway, she says, he’s now living in a luxurious apartment somewhere in the city.  Tere backs off a bit and says she always figured he’d stay in the vecindad, though, it doesn’t make sense now that he’s got plenty of bucks to spend on cars for Ramon and such--all thanks to her goosing him along all those years.  What section [zona=zip code, suburb]?  Strange he didn’t take Ramon with him!  You said he’s living with somebody.  Who?  Juana finally lets out with the details and tries to smooth over the obnoxious news as best she can.   “--That what’s-her name I always see him smooching and holding hands with...that gal, Aida.”  Oh!  Well, says Tere, no need to talk about that now.  I’ve reconciled with hubby in Europe and am deliriously happy!  Juana tells her it’s terrific that she was able to work things out with him.  Yes!  He won me over with all his considerate gestures and gifts!  “--That’s as it should be when an intelligent man loves his woman!”  Hugs and kisses.  Oh, how the two have missed each other!

Back at the hospital, Mariano advises Aurora that it’s time to sk!tt or get off the pot with Marti.  He wants to get married and says he’s not returning unless she agrees to marry him.  She can’t keep giving him false hopes of there being a relationship if there really’s no there there.  It’s not fair to either of them.  (I wonder if he meant himself or her and Marti?)  Aurora guiltily agrees that Mariano’s got a point.

While Juana pours tea, Tere asks why Juana never bothered to give her the scoop on things re: Mar, Aurora, Vanessa and Hector?? No reason to disturb her wah there.  It was her honeymoon, so why start sparks [lumbre = fire, the idea being start fireworks and ruin something by causing an unnecessary problems again].   Anyway, talk turns to Hector and Vee still there and keeping them apart.  Teresa advises her not to let that woman steal Hector from her, if that’s what’s she’s got in mind.  Juana says no, Hector keeps coming around.  Juana knows he might still have feelings for his ex, and also she admits that Aurora seems to be very happy with her mother there now.  The last thing she wants is to upset that applecart for Aurorita.  Why be the fifth wheel?
Aeeeda and Mayra mourn the loss of those millions.

Tere gives Juana good advice.  She can live like a queen with Hector and Aurora can still have her bio-mom around.  There’s room enough for all in Aurora’s life.  It’s possible but only if Juana fights for it.  She’s got to go after Hector!

Aeeeda convinces Mayra that the time has come to put Papi behind bars.  “--He asked for it!  We have got to report him to the police.”

At the same time, Gen and El Bigote share a couple of tragos while discussing the progress of Luna Torquesa.  A couple of model apartments are ready now to be shown so Gen plans on going to Cancun and then trying to sell a few.  With money rolling in from down-payments, they can easily return the funds to the proper place, says Rube without Mayra or Aeeeda being any the wiser.  And BTW, he’s just so anxious to finally ditch the dame and enjoy a gal who’s still got it goin’ on like Gen!  He’s had his fill of begging the b1tch like he’s had to all this time.  Well, says Gen, that was just a tactic until LT condos were ready to go on the market.  Now he’ll be free and the two of them can go public and raise his baby together.  Seems Gen and he have totally disregarded the H factor, here: Hernan the Galan.  Hernan may just have a thing or three to say about this idiotic plan of theirs before it’s all said and done.

During the sonogram, Espe learns she’s having a boy.  Hernan tells her he’ll be their son.  They kiss and he asks her if this means she’s giving him the go ahead.  She smiles broadly at him and says yes.  She likes the way “our son” sounds.

Teresa and Juana are still discussing Aurora’s mother and Juana’s chances with Hector.  Talk turns to Espe.  She’s getting a sonogram.  Art walks in with more gifts.  Tere looks lovingly at him.  What a switch!  He’s there to pick up Tere and join her for a nice lunch at Mom and Dad’s.

They are happy and Refugio tells Armando to shut it.  Out come the gifts.  Tere’s saved the best for last: a rosary from Paris.  A happy foursome.  Yawn!  FF>>

Aurora stops by to see how things are going for Johnny and Pati in their “new” apartment.  Now that they have all the necessary appliances, they can move in together and have a real “wedding night”.  Pati blushes.  She’s nervous and wants it to be perfect.  They want to wait to have kids.  Aurora says that’s important because kids shouldn’t be an afterthought.  She’s never known whether her parents wanted her or not.  Doesn’t matter, says Pati.  They’re there and that’s that.   Double yawn.  Z-z-z-z-z.  FF>>

Esperanza and Hernan visit Mar at his office at the hospital after the sonogram and she asks him what sex he thinks the baby might be.  He tells her that he hopes that it will be a beautiful girl.  However, Espe answers that he’s mistaken because it will be a boy!  Aida hears the conversation without their seeing her and starts crying.  (Somebody tell me again why I should care.)   Hernan also has news, he says.  He and Espe are now a couple!  Congrats all around.  All the more reason for Aeeeda to mope.

The Chavez’s chat it up with Tere and Art about the trip and how Art’s promised to take her back to Paris every year.  She’ll learn French for the next time.  Armando tells the two of them how he’s progressed with his training and Tere and Art agree he’s deserves another raise.  FF>>

Johnny tells Pati he’s a bit nervous about making the break with Refugio this evening, but tonight’s the night to tell her.

Aeeeda cries on Mar’s shoulder over Espe’s having the boy that Daddy always wanted and about daddy’s coming disgrace.  Mar figure’s she’s got to get over not being the only child.  She should be happy about the little one, having a cute little brother, but she’s not.  (Yeah, her papi's already a disgrace and this is just the cherry on top--at least for Team Teresa!)

In Hector’s office Aurora says well, if Juana has rejected him, then Mama is there waiting in the wings,  Might want to think about giving her another chance.

Aeeeda, meanwhile, tells Mar she knows she should be happy about the baby, but all she can think is that it means her daddy'll start sniffing around Espe again and forget about Mama Mayra.  It seems he’s only been coming back to Mama because of the money he stole.  And, being the lawyer she is, she’s bound and determined to throw the book at him for all the hurt he’s caused Mama!  Mariano says she can’t be serious?  No way she should go through with this!

Amadeo meets with Tere and brings her up to date on the Rubigote blow-up.  Like a fine wine, she wants to savor each and every stage of the process.  He’s afraid of having to testify.  She says not to worry.  As we leave her, Amadeo is watching with awe at the way she’s enjoying the thought of Mayra getting ready to report hubby to the authorities.

Great recap, Jardinera -- I watched it twice, and I still enjoyed reading about it!

This was my first experience with the "by the way, it's several months later" transition -- it was a little abrupt, but it was nice to advance the plot. And at least we were spared the experience of yelling at the screen, "No, no, no, Mariano! Don't move in with Aida!" Sigh.

As always, I enjoy your retelling of the episode so much more than just watching the episode.

"I say not if Refugio has anything to say about it!"Oh my that can go so wrong tonight - but honestly, if that much time has past, what the heck does she expect. I normally am so Blech! on Johnny/Pati - but have to say it was rather cute how exceited pati was about the simplest things and having the place ready to move into. For a girl who came from bucks, she does rather have her head on right - too bad we can't say the same for her spouse.

For the sake of our TN, good to see out little Terror hasn't soften too much since flitting all over Europe. Nice to see that she is, well for her, seemingly in very deep like/boprderlinje lurv with Art.Not sure she'll ever be in real love with anyone but herself. I thought she'd explode over Mar/Aeedddaaa...just wonder if she buried that, or honestly no longer cares and Fer is the only one she has yet to conquer ( yeah, that little side glance said it all).

Don't get Ramon - weird advice for a son, but like someone said the other day, as long as it's not Tere, what the hey. I want to see this new pad? Did I miss that?

Can I admit I hate the Aurora/Vanessa moments? I love Aurora - but......

And yeah - Espe/Hernan. Now they are all happy, per TN law, the bad stuff will now commence happening to them.

Loved the recap Jardinera. So Teresa talked Arturo into staying for two months in Paris. Yes. It seems they were making up for lost time in bed. Now she's dreaming of him Ooh laa laa. This whole business with Saienz seems to definitely be foreshadowing and especially since Arturo mentioned that the case isn't going well.

Was Hernan sweet or what. I think Esp is falling for him and I love that he loves the baby as his own child. Are there any Hernan's in real life?

I can't believe that Mariano actually moved in with Aida. I really don't see that lastng long with how continual hatred for Esp and baby.

While Teresa and Arturo were gone it seems that Fernando fell back in love with Luisa. While Teresa opening her eye to watch them kissing while she kissed Arturo, I guess her plan to conquer him is still on.

Check your local listings for tonight because where I live Teresa will be airing at 7:00 and not at its usual time.

I'm still hoping Saenz will turn out to be Vanessa's partner in crime...maybe she came back to try to get him out of jail...!

Great recap, Jardinera, loved your comments as always.
The time passing montage was hysterical, don't you think? Scenes of Espe's stomach growing, Luisa and Fer walking and laughing, Ter and Art in Europe, and in the middle of it Mayra beating the cr@p out of Rube with her bolsa and shoving him out the door.
Yeah, Vanessa is creepy. Do you notice the only two low maintenance chicks in the TN, Juana and Aurora, are not dating?
Love your comment DaisynJay-"per TN law, the bad stuff will now commence happening to them."

So I guess I missed it, is it official that Mariano is indeed living with Aida, or did he just move out of the Vecindad to a new apartment?

How did Hernan and Esperanza get together? If Espe is 5 months pregnant, then she was obviously very involved with Ruben 5 months ago. As far as I could tell, Hernan has been crazy about Esperanza all during her pregnancy and even to the point of buying her gifts and offering to pay for her medical expenses.

Not only that, for him to be so close to her that he wants to raise her kid, fathered by someone else, as if it were his child - that's a BIG committment - how in the world did he fall that deeply in love with her that quickly, especially given her relationship with Ruben?

I know I came into this telenovela really late, but wow, that just seems crazy.

It is at this point, Sharkbyte, that all good TN watchers must put on their beanie-the small imaginary hat that shields us from reason and sensibility so that the story seems credible. I have to credit this TN, I hardly ever have to wear the beanie.
We all missed Mariano moving in with Aida, I am not positive that he actually changed residences, he was living with his father after all and may be just staying with her.

OK, thanks for clearing that up Emarie. I wasn't sure if there was a background story or if, like you said, for this storyline you just roll with it.

Jardinera, thanks for the fun recap. My favorite line: "Art was a slow-learner but has finally figured it out." Yes, indeed Paris and lot and lots of gifts will do the trick. My guess is Teresa loves Art now as much as she's capable of -- maybe as much as Mar -- but she will never be satisfied with any one man.

I'll give Aeeeeda credit. At least she didn't run into the room shrieking when she overheard the baby is a boy and instead just had a quiet cry.

SharkByte, Hernan has been in love with Espe practically from the moment he met her, when he was protecting her from Ruben's angry tirades at the hospital. I guess my beanie is on tight because I'm buying it.

Great recap, Jardinera. I always enjoy your take on the action.

Sharkbyte, Hernan has been interested in Esperanza for years, since they first met when her little brother was seriously ill. She was dating Ruben at the time, then they broke up. Hernan let her know he was interested, but she wasn't over Ruben and didn't think it was a good idea to date someone new then. She started working as a nurse at the hospital around that time, so she and Hernan saw each other a lot. Espe and Rube had a brief reconciliation during which she got pregnant, then she found out even more what a hideous excuse for a person he is and they were splitsville again, I hope for good. By this point Espe and Hernan were good friends, and he helped try to convince the Caceres clan that the baby was his to keep them away from Espe. Only worked for awhile.

All this time, Hernan made it clear he was interested in Esperanza and would be willing and eager to treat her child as his own, but she didn't think she could ever reciprocate. He even left for awhile, but recently returned. And it looks like he's finally won her over.

So, once again Ramon gives terrible advice. I know he'll do anything to keep Mariano away from Teresa but how can he not see what Aida is like? It's sort of creepy how he keeps trying to hook them up.

I'm hoping tonight we'll find out the details of Mariano's living situation, and also that maybe the thrill of having mommy back will have worn off for Aurora and she'll start demanding some real answers.

I too hope to get a glimpse inside Mariano's "departamento de lujo"!

SharkByte:

Hernan has been in love with Esperanza since the beginning of the show, 4-5 years ago, but she's only seen him as a friend until last night's episode.

Jardinera as always a fun filled with LOL recap and thank you.

I agree what terrible advice Ramon gives Mariano about Aeeeeeeeeeeeeda.

Finally our little terror is starting to warm up to Arturo but she has to ruin it when they get back to Mexico to check and see how Fernando is kissing Luisa. Not good.

I guess we all should resigned ourselves but it seems Juana is dead set on Buttberto. Poor Hector he deserves so much better.

Gen did get a kick out of gullible Mayra is finally divorcing Rubigote. Boy it does look like he's been embezzling for quite awhile well before the Luna Turquesa came about. He practically stole all of his princesa's inheritance.

So do not care how Aeeeeeeeeda is affected by Espe's baby being a boy too bad it's not twins.

Was i the only one who caught Mariano making googly eyes at Aurora. Sounds like the boy was not only talking about Martin but himself too. So for those on Team Teresa hopefully we'll get are wish granted real soon and he'll dump the harpy for the woman who has always been there for him through think and thin.

Just in case for those on the east coast tonight and tomorrow Teresa is on a hour early at 7pm. Due to the soccer game it follows CME which is also on a hour early. Thursday all novelas are preempted for the Premios award show. Then on Friday regular schedule for CME at 7pm and Teresa at 8pm followed by the Pequenos kiddie show. For those who live in a different timezone please check your local listings. For some unknown reason Univision wants to prolong the agony of TDA go figure? But that ends as it's been advertised August the 1st.

Jar, perfecto como siempre! Gracias! Love the line about Art being a 'slow learner'. Oh Art...do you realise how many women in Viewerville are ready, willing, and able to 'educate' you! :))

For the briefest of moments, I thought there might be hope for Tiny Terror, but when she was glancing over at Fernando and Luisa kissing, the girl regressed at least 3 steps. Frustrating...

When Hector the Director was in his office, I saw fotos of Vanessa on his desk and right behind him. Have those fotos always been there? This is the first time I have seen them. What does this say about Dr. Director? I could be way off, but I think those are new. Juana has been in his office (I think) and surely, if they had been there, she would have seen them.

Would appreciate some clarification from Viewerville.

...and Fer's mummy? What surprises is she planning?

How long can a PSA about safe sex (The whole Pati/Johnnys storyline) last?! I still do not understand why Refusio did not want them to consummate the marriage. Would appreciate clarification on that point as well.

Teresa's mannerisms are grating on my nerves. They are becoming more pronounced.

She is going to leave so much collateral damage in her wake, but I think she will walk away untouched. She has a cold and calculating heart. I'm not sure that she feels anything now, but she is an interesting subject to observe in action.

Gracias, Jar!

Susanita

!Gracias a todos! To clarify, I summarized the chat between Tere and Juana over a couple three scenes regarding Mariano's move to the new luxury digs, but she was definitive that he moved out and moved in with Aida. Someone else can review them and tell me if I misinterpreted, but that's the gist of what I got from the CC's:

"What section [zona=zip code, suburb]? Strange he didn’t take Ramon with him! You said he’s living with somebody. Who? Juana finally lets out with the details and tries to smooth over the obnoxious news as best she can. “--That what’s-her name I always see him smooching and holding hands with...that gal, Aida.” Oh! Well, says Tere, no need to talk about that now. I’ve reconciled with hubby..."

Susanita i think i can clarify on why Refugio didn't want Pati and Johnny to consummate their marriage right away. One word Johnny who in their right mind would want to procreate with that idiot? Can you imagine how their babies would turn out acting and looking like their daddy scratching their head with a permanent confused look upon their mug.

Thanks for your recap Jardinera. Just when I was trying to fool myself that Ter wants Art, she pulls that stunt while Fer and Luisa are kissing.

On a positive note, most of you saw what I didn't regarding Mar and Aurora. And last night's interaction with Mar and Aida alluded to the fact that their positions about her Dad may break them up again.

Blusam: You are SO RIGHT!!!!! and I am laughing all the way!!!!

Susanita

Great recap Jardinera. I wish there was an Hernán for all of us. He really is the perfect galán. I'm glad Esperanza wised up.

And yeah, we started this novela before Teresa started college and that's when Hernán met and fell for Esperanza. The poor guy has been waiting for her all along.

Oh, Teresa. You can just forget about Fernando and everyone else and concentrate on being happy with what you have instead of trying to control everything and everyone. But then we wouldn't have much of a novela.

I do agree though, that a big part of the change in Mariano and his desire to grow has to do with Teresa and how he push him to succeed. He would probably still had been a taxi driver if it wasn't for her. But he also allowed himself to continue helping his community instead of forgetting about them like Teresa wanted.

Blu: I agree about Refugio wanting to stop Paty and Johnny from having children. They didn't even have a home yet and if she had gotten pregnant who knows what would have been of them. Now they have their own place (soon with a nice second hand stove) so they can at least not worry about the basic necessities. Something tells me that a big part of Teresa's ability to coldly plan her actions comes from her momma. They may not agree on most things but they are both practical thinkers.

Jarocha

Man, I forgot about all those years with Hernan talking to Espe in the halls (never working, it seems) all the while Espe was seeing Rube-oops. He still fell hard and fast for her.

Jardinera, thanks for the scintillating recap, love your style. "Germinal" practically made me dump my glass of wine; too funny and absolutely perfect fashion analysis. I also liked the "H" factor, go Hernan!
