Teresa Tue 7/19/11 #100 Vanesssssa shows her fangs and Odiosa Oriana returns

Was able to catch the East coast feed, so tonight's entry is early but did wait until West coast feed was finished. I combined a few scenes.

CASA BARRERA: Teresa tells Amadeo the two phases of her plan: get the proof and file charges. She’s happy to hear Mayra is planning to file charges against Ruben today.

HOSPITAL: Aida can’t understand why Mariano’s surprised at Ruben’s actions. She reminds him that aside from cheating on Mayra, he stole millions from her. Mariano doesn’t agree that she should be the one to file charges against him. She knows it won’t be easy but she’ll have to be strong for her mother’s sake. She shudders to think of the ensuing scandal. Why, it’ll be worse than the scandal at Teresa’s wedding! Mariano reacts to the mention of she-who-shall-not-be-named. She’s convinced there’s no other way and her family will be a farce (comedia). She has to continue with her parents’ divorce and the proceedings that will end with her father in jail. She refuses to listen to Mariano’s speech about this being her dad. He deserves everything he gets. He didn’t think of anyone but himself.

CASA CHAVEZ: Johnny and Pati announce to Juana and Refugio that they are now ready for their wedding night. It’s been months right? Yeesh FF>>

CASA BARRERA: Luisa tells Teresa how much she missed her. She tells her how wonderful Fernando has been and how he even had someone from his construction company (constructora) redesign the closet to give her more room. She was nervous at first but found they have more in common than she first thought. He makes her feel loved, cherished. Teresa says the same happened with her and Arturo. She asks if Luisa is planning to move back home now that she and Arturo are back.

CASA CHAVEZ: Juana and Refugio talk about Johnny & Pati and how wonderful it is to be in lurve. Refugio asks if she’s thought more of giving the good Doctor another chance. Juana says yes! Woohoo!

CASA BARRERA: Arturo tells Fernando of his efforts to win over Teresa. He had to start at zero and it was all worth it. Everything was cool as long as they were traveling but now that they’re home, he’s concerned. He spent a lot of money and got careless with the Saenz case (are we ever gonna meet this guy?) If he loses this case, he stands to lose mucho dinero because he’s Saenz’ aval (bank guarantee). They have an agreement that goes back many years. He just needs to organize himself. He has money but he needs to control the spending. Much of his money is invested in Luna Turqueza. Fernando tells him the project is going well with Geno in charge of the upcoming presales. Arturo is relying on the sale of those condos, he doesn’t want to borrow money at today’s interest rates. Fernando mentions increased costs due to the loans they needed but feels the project will still pay off. Arturo asks why loans were needed but they’re interrupted before Fernando can answer. Luisa and Teresa have come in and Luisa and Fernando invite them over for dinner. Teresa begs off and they postpone the homecoming dinner for the following evening. Arturo also asks if Luisa is planning to return home. Luisa and Fernando explain they’re so happy and they will continue their living arrangement.

HOSPITAL: Hector tells Aurora that the love he and Vanessa once shared no longer exists. She asks if it’s possible to rekindle that love. Hector is adamant that there’s no use. She feels he’s full of resentment and asks that he at least consider it.

Genoveva’s House: Geno is overjoyed to hear that Espe’s baby is a boy. She catches herself before Aida notices. Aida points out the irony of her mother having gone through countless procedures in an attempt to get pregnant again because Ruben wanted a boy. Geno feels this news will be important to Ruben. Open your eyes Aida!!! Aida thinks of Mayra and how she’ll react to this news. Geno feels Mayra shouldn’t be told yet. She seems so overwhelmed (agobiada) lately. Aida has told her the divorce will take its time especially if she’s to get her half, which is rightfully hers. Geno’s not happy to hear this and believes Mayra shouldn’t vent her anger (ensañarse) and take Ruben’s money in revenge. Aida responds, “It’s not revenge, it’s justice. And that’s not to mention…..” she catches herself before she says too much and covers by talking of the embarrassing scandal that will take place.

CASA CACERES: Mariano has come to call on Mayra and takes his turn at playing buttinski. He’s come to talk to her about Ruben and lets on that he knows about the fraud. Mayra’s very unhappy Aida’s told him since they had agreed to tell no one. Mariano’s concerned about Aida sending her father to jail and asks Mayra to reconsider her plan. Mayra wonders if he’s really concerned about her daughter --- or is his concern really for Esperanza. He assures her this has nothing to do with Espe and besides, she’s distanced herself from Ruben. Mayra doubts it, considering that baby will bring them further together. Mariano tells her it’s all in the past and he doesn’t want to talk about Espe. His concern now is Aida because she has a deep resentment toward her father. Mayra comments that the resentment is justified and Aida wants to take the case. He’s concerned of the guilt she’ll feel in the future. He asks that she reconsider and tells her he truly is interested in Aida.

CASA BARRERA: Teresa returns to her Teddy bears. She thought bubbles about the bear statue they saw in Spain but she picks up the Mariano Teddy and wonders why she’s so concerned he no longer lives at the vecindad. She wonders when she’ll see him again. ¿Cuando, cuando? Gee, that didn’t take long.

VECINDAD: Oh no! Avert your eyes! Johnny and Pati are alone in their apt. He loves her, she loves him. They toast to their health. They talk of how much they think of each other. FF>>

CASA ALCAZAR: Vanessa asks Aurora if she told Hector she still cares for him. Well, no, she was supposed to be discreet and says he’s still resentful toward her because she left. Vanessa understands. They were very young and she loved him but she didn’t always behave as she should have. She’d understand if he doesn’t wish to forgive her but she still has to try. Don’t you think, hijita? Oh, look at the time! Aurora has to leave for her rounds and Hector walks in. He quickly excuses himself but Vanessssssa stops him, inviting him to join her for dinner so they can talk. He doesn’t understand what she wants to talk about. Nothing she has said so far seems relevant to him. DOORBELL!! Maid walks in with Juana, all gussied up. She’s come to invite Hector to dinner and he accepts! He leaves Vanessssssa standing there as she says to herself, “Estupida, you will not ruin my plans.” AHA! The proof I was waiting for. So she is mala.

Speaking of Mala, Arturo and Teresa are in bed. He whispers sweet nothings in her ear about being happy forever and growing old together. They continue to kiss as he slips a shoulder strap off and…..hold your horses, cowboy. Teresa’s so tired, she just wants to sleep. Back to her old ways.

Hector and Juana are at dinner and he asks what changed her mind. She tells him Teresa convinced her to fight for him and to understand that the only reason Vanessa is in his home is because she’s Aurora’s mother. He nervously tells her he prefers she not be in his home at all but it makes Aurora so happy. She thinks her mother loves her and didn’t leave her voluntarily. He knows otherwise but doesn’t wish clarify that for Aurora’s sake. Juana tells him she’s happy he told her Vanessa left him for another man. This shows how brave he was to go on with his life and raise his daughter by himself. He agrees he’d do anything for his daughter. But enough about Aurora, let’s talk about us. He’s missed her so much. She’s happy to hear that and smiles broadly.

Morning at Vecindad: Johnny & Pati wake up in bed….Ugh. They talk of the sacrifices they’ll have to make, blah, blah FF>>

FERNANDO’S Apt: Luisa nervously awaits the arrival of Teresa and Arturo. Arturo arrives alone after having been to the office. Just as he feared, the Saenz case has become complicated.

Outside, Teresa arrives at the apartment complex and runs into…..Mariano. They give each other the once over, each saying they’ll never forget the other. She assumes he’s followed her. WRONG! He tells her he now lives in this building! Is she surprised a poor taxista could live here? She never had the patience or the will to wait for him to achieve his goals. Fortunately, there are others who believe in him. “Like Aida?”, she asks. “Is this her apartment?” He tells her this is his apartment, paid for with his earnings. She asks again if he’s living with Aida. Before he can answer, Aida walks up saying the air was cleaner while she was gone but now she’s back and all is ruined. After accusing her of coming to beg for Mariano, she warns her not to come here anymore. Teresa says if Aida’s worried she’ll lose her BF, then he better move cuz she’s got friends in the building. They banter back and forth like this over Mariano while he just stands there. Ladies, please, show some dignity. He finally suggests he and Aida get a move on.

Later at dinner, as Arturo talks of their wonderful trip, Teresa is very pensive. She says it’s just that now that they’re back it’s as though nothing has changed. DOORBELL! Oh goodness Oriana the Terrible arrives and starts in immediately to insult Teresa. Teresa greets her warmly enough but Madame O tells her it’s good Arturo tried to expose her to some culture (cultivar) although that won’t change her origins. Teresa fights back, saying her origins in the vecindad don’t make her any less worthy than her. Madame O, not to be outdone, tells her that’s what you people say to console yourselves. Arturo steps in telling her she’s offending his wife. She feels she’s only stating the truth. If she doesn’t like it they can leave, it’s a free country. No one needs to stay where they don’t want to. Stunned looks from everyone and Teresa is close to tears. What kind of a freak is she? Didn’t she learn any manners where she was born?

CASA ALCAZAR – Vanesssssa the Viper sees Aurora coming and puts on the sad sack face. She tells Aurora dinner last night was a disaster. Hector and she were settling down to dinner but the moment was shattered when Juana arrived. She’s not sure he loves Juana. Yesterday, she got the feeling Hector still cares for her and she plans to fight for him. Aurora thinks that’s not possible if Hector loves Juana. Vanessa sets her straight and tells her she’s sure he still feels something for her. Otherwise, why would he have lasted 20 years without finding another woman? She’s not accustomed to losing. She philosophizes that in life one should always go after what one wants. That’s what Aurora should do about Mariano. She asks her to invite him over so she can get to know him better.

GENOVEVA’S HOUSE: Ruben is toasting to his son. He’s so happy after so many years of trying, he’s at last going to have a son! Geno agrees everything’s turning out better than they had planned. He reflects that he never thought Mayra would react so badly over everything that’s happened. She was always so submissive and shortsighted. “And she doesn’t about the fraud yet!”Geno interjects. She tells him he can’t really blame her. She was so in love with him she lost all perspective and how could she have guessed he would cheat on her and end up with a son. She toasts to their being parents again. He takes exception to that but she reasons that once that baby is with them everything will be perfect. He toast to his son. And to Mayra, who without her poor character and naiveté, they wouldn’t be there. What a pair.

Ruh-roh! Mayra’s arrived at the police station sporting gigantic sunglasses as a disguise. She’s there to press charges against her husband for fraud. The officer tells her this charge can result in imprisonment, is she sure she wants to proceed? ABSOLUTELY! Score one for the naïve, submissive Mayra!

FERNANDO’S APARTMENT: Fernando tells Madre del Diablo that Teresa’s not going anywhere because she’s his guest. Arturo chimes in and says that although he’s always thought of her as a second mother, Teresa is now the most important person in his life. If she continues to disrespect her, he will have no choice but to break off his relationship (with Odiosa Oriana). Teresa takes the high road and tells Arturo he shouldn’t break off any relationship for little ol’ me. Arturo doesn’t want to back off but she insists saying Oriana is correct in saying they’re from different social spheres and have a different outlook on life but in time she’ll come to understand her (Teresa). Fernando points out Teresa’s elegance (nobleza) and that’s considering she’s not a blueblood (de sangre azul). Oh, ok, you twisted my arm. Madam Odiosa agrees to give it a try. Teresa’s happy to hear this because these are the people they both love the most. Madam O proposes a toast and orders Arturo to serve her some champagne. He gets an ok nod from Teresa. Teresa then gives Odiosa an evil stare that seems to say, “Stay out of warm waters.”

CASA CACERES: Mayra’s back and Aida asks where she’s been. She’s angry when Mayra tells her she’s already pressed charges against Ruben. They were supposed to do it JUN-TAAAAAAS! Apparently Mayra’s followed Mariano’s advice and didn’t want Aida involved in the criminal case. Mayra insists she stay out of it because Ruben will always be her father and later, grandfather to her children. Aida’s very angry to have been left out and refuses to consider dropping the charges. Very well, but Mayra insists on having another attorney take the case, and that’s that. She tells Aida it was Mariano who convinced her and she’s sure he did it because he really cares for Aida. Aida’s all, en serio? Hmmmmm

FERNANDO’S APT: Let the toasting begin. Luisa toasts to Fernando landing a new project in Acapulco. Fernando toasts Luisa for the happy times they’ve spent these past few months and hopes to continue to be happy forever. Oriana, being the uncouth slob that she is, jumps the gun and offers her wedding band as an engagement ring, saying it’s a family heirloom, etc. etc. Time’s a-wasting! She proposes they toast to their engagement. Everyone looks uncomfortable.

But, Fernando comes through. He pulls Luisa up from her seat and asks if she wants to marry him. She’s flustered and says yes but only if he really wants to. He assures her he does and as he’s already said, he wants to spend the rest of his life with her. Teresa toasts to their happiness but Arturo feels this is a bit rushed. Fernando agrees but that doesn’t mean he loves his sister any less. Oriana tells them to enjoy! Teresa’s happy for Luisa because she is like a sister and for Fernando who’s always treated her as a great friend. They all toast to the happy couple. Cue the Jaws theme as Oriana watches Teresa who seems to hesitate as she drinks her champagne.

CASA CACERES: Aida breaks the news to Mayra that Espe’s baby is a boy, what her father always wanted. Mayra is predictably upset and thinks of all the times they tried for another baby because he was never satisfied. She’s glad she found out now about the fraud, otherwise he would have been enjoying her fortune with that Gata and their baby.

FERNANDO’S APT: Luisa can’t believe it. Neither can Fernando. Until he met her, he never thought he’d marry. But she made the difference. Her passion, her interests, her beauty, all combined to steal away his heart little by little. He loves her and she loves him. Kissies. Fernando tells Arturo he won’t need to worry as much now because now there will be two of them to care for Luisa. Oriana says she’s the best daughter-in-law anyone would want and now she’ll have the grandest wedding of the year. She’ll have to invite all her educated friends and obviously her society friends as well. Teresa suggests Luisa and Fernando should decide on the type of wedding they want. Oriana reminds Fernando that in families such as theirs, there are certain obligations which must be met. Arturo feels they’ll decide what they want to do and they can count on his help. The important thing is that Luisa be happy. He and Teresa decide to leave. As Teresa hugs Luisa, she can’t help but get a dig in saying, “It may have taken his mother’s needling, but Fernando finally asked you to marry him.” Que mala.

EL HUARACHE VELOZ: Johnny meets up with Fito and updates him on family matters: Espe’s baby is a boy and the babydaddy is a scoundrel. Fito offends Johnny by saying he used to think of Espe as a Reina but now that she has a baby it’s a different matter. Johnny gives Fito a 400 peso payment on the loan and Fito at first declines saying it’s nothing on what he owes. Johnny convinces him to keep it.

GENOVEVA’S HOUSE: Geno’s giving Ruben the latest on Luna Turqueza: DVD presentation is complete, potential buyers are lined up, and Tower 1 is nearly complete. Ruben is very, very nervous. He hopes the sales go quickly because he doesn’t want Mayra to have one single peso of the profit. She wants half of Luna Turqueza but he’s not about to give it to her. He thinks she’s appeased for now (HA HA) and he thinks he can convince her (not to take Luna Turqueza profit). Geno comes back to the subject of “nuestro hijo”, wondering who can help them. Ruben repeats that this could be very dangerous and wants to leave that as a last resort. He thinks he can convince Espe to give him the baby (what?). Involving anyone else is too risky. Geno rolls her eyes.

FERNANDO’S APARTMENT: Oriana’s the last to leave. Gee, why am I not surprised? Fer walks her to the door alone and she asks what’s bothering him. He scolds her for her rudeness toward Teresa, especially in his home. They all agreed to leave it in the past, she says. She’ll make an effort to get along with her. He hopes so. Otherwise they’ll never be a true family. She must think of Arturo and Luisa. Oriana reluctantly agrees to try – at least until Arturo realizes what a good-for-nothing that woman really is. He also tells her he’s none too pleased that she obliged him to propose to Luisa.

HOSPITAL: Mariano tells Aurora he can’t believe that his and Teresa’s paths continue to cross. Aurora’s more surprised that it still seems to bother him. He denies it bothers him but he’d just prefer not to see her again. Besides, running into her showed him he really doesn’t feel anything for her anymore. Aurora hopes so because she talked to Teresa after her return and she said her relationship with Arturo is on the mend and their troubles are in the past. Besides, isn’t he happy with Aida? He responds that she’s lovely and he’s giving it his all. His lips say yes but his eyes say nope, nothing there.

FERNANDO’S APARTMENT: Fer complains about his mother always trying to run everyone’s life. Luisa agrees but says she didn’t say anything to avoid conflict and she knows his mother means well. Then she pulls off the ring and tells him she doesn’t want to get married like this. Fernando is impactado! Guau.

Comments:
So Vanessa is a Mala Hembra. I was still on the fence, thinking the writers were trying to fool me but she has finally bared her fangs! This is gonna be gooood. I just hope Juana is ready and up for the challenge.

Kudos to Mayra for sticking it to Ruben! I thought the policeman/detective was going to talk her out of it for a second but she held fast. She was so brave to do that. It seems she's been protected from life all her life. Geno was right in saying she was so in love with Ruben, she couldn't see what was going on. But no more! Can't wait to see Ruben's reaction. This will definitely spin his wig!

I can't go to sleep without commenting on Oriana. Calling her a snob is insulting to snobs. She's also rude, crude, and vulgar. "Why, If I weren't a lady, there's no telling what I'd call that varmint!" [GWTW]

Paquita: I didn't get to see tonight's capitulo, but with your wonderful and so thorough recap, I feel like I didn't miss a thing! Thank you so much. :))

Very, very interesting that our dear Art is now worried about money. He's not the bottomless pit that Teresa thinks he is. There is something about this Luna T business that just doesn't sit right. First of all, it still has 'Paloma' written all over it. Secondly, Big Hair Geno is running things?! Can this really be so?!

As repulsive as Oriana is, I'm glad that there is someone to give Teresa a run for the money.

Three cheers to Juana! I am stunned she asked Hector the Director out to dinner!

I'm also glad to hear that Mayra is getting stronger, but it upsets me the way she and Aida speak about Espe. They seem to assume that anyone from the Vecindad is trash. This kind of attitude can eventually backfire in the worst way.

The one I am really proud of is: LUISA! Very, very good...VERY good!!

Susanita (who cannot believe she is up so late!)

I don't understand why everyone is getting on Oriana for how she's treating Teresa. I mean Teresa treats people the exact same way. But Oriana is more up front with it and Teresa is more sneaky and snarky.Oriana is a snob that doesn't vaule or respect poor people. Teresa grew up poor and can't stand poor people either. What's the difference between the two? None that I can see.

So sick of this whole Johnny and Pati thing. Get married, get busy and shut up.

So proud of Mayra!!!!! But I wonder how she will react when she finds out her BFF has been with her husband.

Paige

Paquita what another excellent recap and thank you.

Susanita i can't believe that you're up this late either!!! If you want to catch missed episodes try Daily Motion.

Paquita another excellent call on Oriana this woman is beyond rude and a snob. As for that look well i took it to not mean "stay out of warm waters" but b!tch it's on!This the one thing those who have put down Teresa have never learned is the more you insult her the more it's challenging her to get back you by any means as possible.

Sad that she really can't appreciate what a great man she is married too.

Poor Arturo it doesn't look good if he's experiencing financial difficulties.

The loan is this because Ruben and Geno asked that the Luna Turquesa project be sped up so loans had to be taken out to cover the cost.

Not surprised about Vanessa she didn't seem sincere.

Aeeeeeeeeeda you are so going to be disappointed enjoy it while it last but you're another one who is not picking up that Mariano cares for you but he doesn't love you rebound girl.I can't wait for this to happen so Teresa can rub your nasty nose in it. The real Gata is your mom's BFF and your almost mother in law. Can't wait for you to discover that one also.

Ruben and Geno these two are beyond delusional and creepy.Bring on the police.

I wouldn't put much faith in the police at this stage. As odious as Oriana was to Teresa (who deserves it for reasons Oriana still doesn't know) I wanted to tell that cop to get a reality check. The nerve of him passive/aggressively attempting to talk Mayra out of pressing charges against Ruben!

I can easily imagine this same cop in another 10 episodes asking Esperanza if she really wants to file kidnapping charges against Ruben and Genoveva when they could better provide for the baby.

Vanesssssa tambien tiene veneno en sus labios. I wonder how many friends she alienated over the years.

Tiburoncita is back to her old ways and they're only going to get worse as soon as she finds out that Arturo's finances aren't what they think they are..

Luisa is smart. She knows that Oriana will be the Suegra de Infierno to any woman Fernando would marry. Can you imagine how she'd be later? The second they'd come back from their honeymoon she'd be saying "Ok, so much for the fun. Now, whelp!"

Yish - Theme of the night was "Mothers" and not always as a good thing.

Vanessa and Oriana must have known in each other in a former life. This whole "our kind" is like being in a 19th century costume drama - snob doesn't seem to do thier attitude justice. And apparently, being so much better than the poor folks means you can be as nasty, manipulative and bossy as you want and it should be allowed.

After all this time, apparently Vanessa doesn't believe in working for her keep. So is poor Hector having to support this leech? Loved Juana taking the risk and going after Hector, but boy this could get ugly if Vanessa plays like we think she will.

I feel bad for Aeeeddaaa, but I'm starting to get like Mariano and tiring of her. Thought her slip about the wedding was a tad insulting to the boyfriend who was sitting right there. Wish we could cut down on the Rube/Blondie scenes - man those two just make me nauseous.

I have a feeling Fer won't take no for an answer now from Louisa. (But gees, go get a ring that wasn't your mothers.)

I agree, Daisynjay -- watching Ruben and Geno together is like touching a toad. I feel all slimy afterward.

Meanwhile, I continue to wave the tiny flag of the Cutberto Fan Club, population = 1. Give me a goofy singing man any time. ;D

Paquita, you were right on the money with your side comments, Just what I was thinking. So nice to find the recap waiting with my coffee...

If you really want to kill any romance in your relationship just be the officially approved suitable and sensible mate by the dominating mother of your boyfriend. Good for Luisa for turning Fer down under the circumstances!!

It seems to me Geno and Rube are not only stripping Mayra but they will impoverish Arturo at the same time, am I wrong? And then they expect to snatch Espe's child and live happily ever after?

Espe is the ONLY person who knows about the Geno and Rube love affair-which puts her in danger. She should tell someone, quick.

It would be so ironic for Tere if Mariano ends up rich and Arturo ends up poor, and Tere can't get Mariano back.

I am so not getting (and not caring about) the Johnny/Pati no sex after you get married thing...I have heard of no sex until marriage...weren't they supposed to get married by a priest first before consummating their civil wedding? I am so confused.

Good point about the police, Urban.

There was definitely a theme of Arturo's star falling, while Fer's star was rising (Fer got a new deal that they were celebrating). All the talk of the money troubles due to the Saenz case that he has been neglecting to save his marriage, and the Luna Tuquesa money sink hole, for sure means major money troubles to come for Art. Which means major marriage problems to come. Teresa will always want to keep Mar dangling, but I think she will go after a BIG fish after she sees that Art won't be able to provide the life she wants, and that big fish is Fernando. This will serve two purposes-- 1) get her the life she wants, and 2) get back at Oriana in a big way.

I was proud of both Luisa and Mayra last night. Good for them!

We finally see the real face of Vanessa. Aurora needs to get her head out of the sand and open her eyes to who this woman really is. Notice how the bad women like Ter and Vanessa often give the meaker women the same advice we have been shouting at them? Fight for Mariano, Aurora. Does that say something about the advice we're giving?

Emarie- The point of Johnny/PAti waiting was not to wait till the church wedding. It was 1) for them to get to know each other better; 2) to see if Pati really could live a life in the vecinidad; 3) for them to figure out how they would support themselves financially; and 4) for them to have enough time to find and furnish a home so that it was livable. All of those boxes have now been checked so Refugio had no problem with them moving in and moving on with each other. I think they didn't have the church wedding so that if all those things above didn't work out, they could easily disolve the marriage. Not so easy with a church marriage.

Right, Vivi. And to Fer, Tere will be this forbidden dessert that his mom will hate, and Tere will have no qualms about snatching Fer and hurting Luisa.

I don't think tha scandal at the wedding Aida was referring to was Mar breaking in to the church, etc. It was Mayra screaming her head off at Ruben and Espe and slapping her. So it wasn't an insensitive dig at Mariano.

So, is Mariano really over Teresa? Hmmm.... I still have my doubts, but I guess we'll see when she shows up at his apt tonight. The previews looked intruiging.

Thanks Frances. I loved everything about your recap, but got my biggest chuckle out of "Odiosa Oriana", so true!

Oh dear, the engagement scene with Fernando and Luisa was a mess...I've never quite heard of the suegra-to-be taking her ring off and handing it, body heat and all, to the novia, what a yucky, yucky move. I was proud of Luisa for putting a stop to the "styling" of that engagement. What will she say tommorrow, I wonder!

We watch such bad behavior in novelas, it is a joy to see the good sometimes. Watching Mayra rise above the occasion and do what she thinks is best for her fortune and still try and preserve the opportunity for some type of relationship between Ruben and Aida was a joy. It was best to take Aida out of the equation on the nitty gritty part of the divorce/embezzlement filings.

I think the thrill is going for Mariano and Aida too, it is just a matter of time.

It looks like Luna Turquesa might be the Waterloo for several of our characters. Ruben, and now Arturo have sunk a bunch of money in the project, those condos need to start selling!! On Arturo's finances, it isn't helpful to have to "buy" your wife back with such an extended and luxurious trip to expensive cities like Paris and Madrid! Yes, I see financial problems ahead for Arturo while Mariano's star continues to rise. That will really roil the waters for out little sharketta.

Blusam: I know! I cannot believe how I am following not one, but three, yes THREE TN! I know it's because I've had months and months of what seems to be non-stop work. The TN clear my head, if you know what I mean (insert 'wink' emoticon here). :)) It's not like I am sitting on my hands now, but have to make time for the likes of Sebastian and Juan and Oz.

Vivi: Appreciate the clarification re the Pati/Johnnys delayed gratification. Honestly, that whole story line bores me so much that I missed the reason behind Refusio's edict.

I am feeling a sense of impending doom and sadness for dear Art. In thinking that the only way he would win back Teresa was with THINGS, he's missed seeing who she really is. Now, because of the utter selfishness of the Evil Twins, Rubigote and Geno, Art is the one who stand to lose so much.

I asked this question the other day and I'd really like someone to fill me in: have those fotos of Vanessa always been on Hector the Director's desk?

My beanie moment continues to be Aurora. The way she has accepted Vanessa's abrupt entrance into her and her father's lives just astounds me. To even suggest to her father that he consider picking up where they left off just boggles my mind. At this rate, Aurora is going nowhere fast.

Susanita

Susanita- The only photos on Hector's desk that I have always seen there are Aurora's photos. I've never seen photos of Vanessa on his desk. Are you sure they are of her? I'll have to look the next time they show his office.

I would love to see Mayra hire Teresa as her lawyer.

Thanks for the recap Frances, it was wonderful. I was also cheering on Mayra for starting the process with Rubén. I think the police man was just making sure she wouldn't back down once the process started because we know what comes next.

I don't mind Oriana, I like her snobby ways. She is someone I would absolutely despise in real life but she makes the telenovela fun. I did feel bad for poor Luisa, I don't think any girl dreams with that kind of engagement. Girls tend to prefer sweet moments with the guy in one knee or something like that, way to spoil the romance Oriana.

I think Aurora is just feeling a bit needy right now. She has yearned for her mother all her life, she has yearned for Mariano's love for years and sentimentally she hasn't been truly happy. What can she do? In her mind, after she confessed her feelings and he focused on Teresa, Mariano won't love her. She tried to move on with Martín and it was worthless, the only thing she gained was hurting him and feel guilty. Now her mom is here telling her she loves her and all the things she dream about probably since she was a child so she is taking comfort in her presence.

Jarocha

Vivi: Would you look again the next time there is a scene in Hector the Director's office, please? I just remember feeling huge surprise at seeing the fotos. Wowsers. Maybe it was Aurora and maybe I had just seen a Vanessa scene and my brain was playing tricks (which is very plausible). Gracias! I appreciate it!

Susanita

Susanita- Just went back and looked at the scene in Hector's office. I captured screenshots of the pics. They are fuzzy, but you can tell they are of Aurora: http://www.flickr.com/photos/65450998@N06/show/

I guess that means they did a good job casting Eugenia as Ana Brenda's mom.

Jarocha

Vivi: Thank you SO much! Just a little detail I had to clear up as I could not believe Hector would be the deceitful kind. Vivi...you're the best! Gracias!!

Susanita

Jarocha: ITA with your comment. :))

Susanita
P.S. Initially, I had no interest in seeing a TN about a selfish, manipulative, social climbing woman, but the whole TN has been an excellent study about characters, people, and their development (or lack thereof).

The interesting thing is that I have no feeling for Teresa one way or the other. She could have any ending and I think it would be a satisfying end. It's the other characters that seem to matter most. I've never felt that way before about a TN (and not that I have that many TN under my belt). My .02, for what they are worth.

Jarocha ita i think right now Aurora is going through what a lot of kids go through when their parents separate and divorce wishing and wanting them back together. It seems being abandon by her mother was very traumatic to Aurora and as someone mentioned the other day hector was very lenient to her helping her cope with this type of abandonment.

Aurora hasn't fully grown up yet despite her adult relationship with Martin she needs to see and realize the type of person her mother is. This process will finally make her become a full adult and move on and hopefully make her be more decisive with she really wants in her life. Like she did with Teresa finally letting her know she wasn't going t be fooled anymore by her and her games. She needs to do the same towards her mother.

It's funny how for awhile she has been sending Mariano subtle signals that she wants him and he's too dumb not being able to pick this up from her. Now i think in his way Mariano has been doing the same towards her feeling her out about how she feels about Martin is she going to give him a chance again or keep things as they are? She has been so swift picking up what Mariano has been really trying to say to her in his roundabout way.

OMG Ebony, fantastic idea! Teresa as Mayra's lawyer -- I wouldn't want to miss a minute of that...

This TN has been so great, it's hard to imagine what I will watch when it is over. I will be counting on you all for a recommendation. I like them urban, fast-paced, with lots of dialogue -- unfortunately, I don't go in for the cowboys.

Blusam: You make some excellent points re Aurora!

BlueLass: Why not start watching 'Cuando me Enamoro' that is running right now? Urban, fast moving, with excellent dialogue. It is one excellent TN. The scenes in the vineyards of Baja California are simply gorgeous.

Aurora and Mariano are not ready for each other yet:

Aurora is meek and passive. Mariano is a studly, hot, young doctor on the rise. He's got at least 4 women on the show panting after him (Teresa, Aurora, Aida & Magda). Sharkitas like Vanessa, Genoveva & Teresa pray on meek & mild women like Juana, Aurora & Mayra, and when they spot weakness they go in for the kill and don't think 2 seconds about hurting the meek woman. They should have fought back, but they didn't, so oh well...they rationalize.

If Aurora was with Mariano, being as meek & passive as she is, she wouldn't be able to keep him, because a Sharkita would come along and snatch him away.

Aurora's got to become stronger before she can be with Mariano.

Mariano needs to truly understand what love, unconditional love is all about. Hot sex + sweet whispers do not equal love. Teresa does not love or care for Mariano. Otherwise she wouldn't disrespect him, play with his feelings, make him feel bad about himself & his surroundings, dis his hopes and dreams etc. Aida*'s love is conditional: I'll love you IF you get rid of Esperanza; let's move to MY side of town, etc.

Aurora's been pretty straightforward with her opinions to Mariano; she doesn't back down but she does exoress herself in a caring way. She's willing to take herself out of the picture if that's what would make Mariano happy.

They're not ready for each other; they have to get ready.

*Aida has to get ready for another guy (Curlz?). Aida is very insecure (probably learned from Mayra & reinforced by Ruben) when it comes to relationships. She needs to become more secure within herself so she doesn't have to cling to a guy or blare all over him.

As far as Mariano/Teresa is concerned, the attraction might always be there but that ship has sailed forever. Unless Mariano won Powerball of the World and became richer than Fernando, nothing he offers Teresa will ever satisfy her. She has been living in the lap of luxury for at least 4-5 months, hobnobbing with rich people and even richer people. If you've grown used to driving/riding in Mercedes & Lexus, you won't be satisfied going back to a Toyota Camry, no matter how many extras, bells & whistles the Camry has.

Sorry Mariano, the best you can hope for from Teresa is a little afternoon delight b/c she'll never leave the lifestyle she's become accustomed to.

Duh @ Arturo having money problems...with all the money he's spent on Teresa he SHOULD have money problems. I hope he bought Luisa's apartment outright...with how the Luna Turquesa/Saenz deals might go he may need to move in there.

Aurora was giving Vanessa the WTF? look when Vanessa was telling her she's not accustomed to losing (re: Juana)

Thanks for the rec, Susanita. I don't have time to watch two, but I will need my fix when Teresa is over...!

From the 10-15 minutes of CME I catch when I turn on the TV, it seems like a good story, although not quite "citified" enough for me. (Too much rolling around in the dirt.) But I just had my first exposure to he whom others call "DOCTOR VOICE"...and wow. I may make an exception for that lovely bass-baritone.

Loved the recap Frances. So as we suspected Vanessa is up to no good and her plans involved getting Hector to fall back in love with her. I wonder when will we find out about the mystery man she left Hector for.

Oriana was truly disgusting with her snobbery last night and coercing Fernando to propose to Luisa. Not cool. The stare Teresa gave her suggests that she's going to continue with her plan to conquer Fernando just to stick it to the mean woman.

Once again, Teresa is clinging onto her Mariano bear and missing him as well as using the "I'm tired" excuse to keep Arturo, the energizer bunny, from having relations.

We also learned that Arturo's money is tied up in this case that's not going well and he's worried about all the money he's spent so far on Teresa and the gifts. Not good.

FYI, Check your local listings for the time to tonight's show. It comes on at 7:00 in my area.

Anon207: Really excellent points re Mariano/Teresa, etc. Excellent!

BlueLass: You are welcome! I think you will really like CME.

Susanita

Thanks for your recap Paquita. I was pleasantly surprised Luisa turned Fer down. Another reason this TN is so great is that characters often do things you would not expect.

Anon207 - though ITA w/your assessment of Aurora and Mariano, I am so ready for his relationship with Aida to be over!

Great conversations today!

Thanks Pirate Babe.

Schedule on West Coast shows Teresa at 9:00 tonight, preempted tomorrow and back at 8:00 on Friday.

BTW, I missed yesterday's broadcast and tried to grab it later on Daily Motion but couldn't find any Capitulo 100. Fortunately, they had it on Youtube.

Aeeeeeeeeeeeda has always shown she is needy and desperate so in this respect she really does take after her own mother.

When she was with Paulo i think deep down inside she knew that she was Paulo's second and very reluctant choice. He still wanted Teresa i believe that's why she couldn't move on and be happy with him after she got him. Also why she was constantly attacking and putting down Teresa.

Whenever she went on her usual ad naseum Teresa rants, Paulo let her know right away he didn't want to hear this 24/7 and to cut it out or he was leaving her.

Aeeda of course back down and placated to keep him by her after all she was and had been in love with Paulo all of her life. But she wanted to control him just as she is trying to do with Mariano.

With paulo it was Aeeeeeeeeda conspiring with his mother to get Paulo to shape up and finally wash himself of his Teresa obsession.

Now with mariano she wants to make hi over into her ideal man but once he must meet her criteria never giving a thought about his wants or needs. She of course is being assisted by bad advice Ramon.

If she truly cared about Mariano she would make a effort to accept his background and the people he is most concerned about and loves and that includes Espe.

Include also Aeeeeeeda off putting personality, bossiness, disgusting rants. Being a shrewish harpy and outright snobbery this chick has a lot of issues to get through. Most importantly her daddy issues. She has taken out all of her deep rooted frustrations concerning this main issue on Teresa trying to replace her father's love by the boy she thinks she is in love with Paulo. But he of course falls for Teresa.

Tries to get back at Teresa by using Mariano but eventually falls in love with him because of the type of person he is.Still not happy with him as he is.

In order for Aeeeeeeda to really love someone else first she must learn to love herself and self examine why her relationships aren't working out?

As much fun as she does have even then when you see Aeeeeda sometimes you see there is a sadness about her she is not happy about either who she has become or the way she acts. Best things Mayra now can do for her daughter beside taking her off the divorce case and filing charges against her father for fraud. is to get her the necessary professional help she really needs.

Just as Aurora has to grow up and accept who and what her mother is she hasn't let that ruin her life completely or be so obsessed she ranting and raving every five minutes about a person.

Anon207, loved your analysis of Aurora and of Mariano's and Teresa's toxic relationship.

Our parents give us birth and some might raise us and in some instances shape who we are and become as adults. But that shouldn't define us as a person sometimes we have to accept that some parents aren't great or even good parents or role models to look up too.

At a certain point in ones life it is up to the individual to determine who she or he want to be in their life. Granted you're always going to have some influences by and from your parents if they have raised you. But that doesn't mean you have to become a mini version of your parents either.

I like the writers for this novelas because they are giving us a paralell of two characters who are sort of experiencing the same situations and how each of them are dealing with it.

Aurora abandon by her mother and Aeeeeeda emotionally abandon by her father why he was around as she grew up she has never felt they were close like she wanted them to be.

Now both are in love with the same man Mariano and speaking of him i think he has been gradually maturing before our eyes and he is ready for Aurora now he just needs the ok that she has gotten over Martin. A lot of mixed signals here.

The fact that every time Aeeeeeda brings up moving in together or being in love with him he gives a non committal comment says all there needs to be said about this relationship. She was nothing nut his rebound girl. but she isn't someone he fully wants to make that big commitment with meaning marriage.

Aurora discovering who and what her mother really is i think will be the final process in her letting go of her little girl fantasy of having mother returning and having her loving family environment. This will be the maturation of Aurora and perhaps we will no longer see her indecisiveness and being a pushover for anyone anymore and her going after the man she loves.

Just like she had her eyes opened to who and what Teresa was really about and she let her know she's not going to be used by her anymore. I think the same needs to happen with her mother.

Anon207, I agree with the others who have complimented you on your thoughts on Aurora and Mariano! Well said!

Aurora and her Mom remind me of the parable of the Prodigal Son. Good son (parent Hector) is neglected with the return of the prodigal son, (Vanessa). Honestly, I think it is a common phenomenon in real life!

Yes, Blu, I agree with you, Aurora needs to grow a little more. She is living her childhood fantasy...her parents together at last.  When she has a family of her own she will look differently at the actions of her mother and the  appreciation of her father's lifelong commitment will grow.

Frances: another fun read, amiga! Again, the detail is much appreciated as I don't have time to review like I used to and did miss a couple of important things you filled in. Thank you!

Oriana is definitely Odiosa--Tere is playing her part around her very well and close to the vest. I was amazed to see the way the old battle-axe's remarks stung and caused the tears. Somebody needs to beat the old broad at her own game and I can't wait to see how she gets her comeuppance.

Anon.207: spot on about Mar and Tere.

ViviDC: you really have a talent for breaking things down into understandable packets! Thanks for the review of Rufusio's reasoning.

Thanks for the great recap Paquita.

Does anyone recall if there has been any previous explanation of who Saenz is and what this case is about?

Also regarding Aurora & Mariano, I generally agree with what others previously said. However, I think the single biggest impediment keeping those two apart is the fact that Aurora outright said to Mariano more than once that she does NOT have romantic feelings toward him:
(1) She told Mariano on the day she “confessed” to him that she once had feelings for him in the past, but that she flat out no longer feels that way about him now. (Recall that this incident was the catalyst for things going awry with Martin.)
(2) She outright told Mariano that she had no romantic interest in him at Johnny and Patty’s wedding; then proceeded to go crying into one of the bedrooms, telling Mariano it was because she missed Martin.

So even if she has her moments where she looks at him googly-eyed and seems to like him, guys tend to take women at their word. If she says she doesn’t have romantic feelings for you, then unless she directly does or says something to retract those words, a guy is probably going to instead hook-up with a woman who actually does show interest in him. Hint: Aida sticking her tongue down his throat qualifies as showing interest. Men tend to find that kind of “interest” extremely fascinating. So as long as Aida continues to show “interest” in Mariano, he’s probably going to stay involved with her until someone better comes along or he gets tired of her.

Shark, Saenz is Arturo's mysterious client who has been in some type of serious legal conflict for several weeks or months now. We haven't seen him and know little about the nature of his problems. Saenz's legal needs abruptly stopped Arturo and Teresa's first honeymoon, he rushed home to help him and as you can imagine, Miss T wasn't too happy about that.

SharkByte, it has not been my experience that a man will take a woman at her word when she says she is not interested in him. Not at all. Gosh no.

Of course I am from a different generation, and my experience is outdated. ;}

Paquita, great recap."Ladies, please show some dignity." - lol. For Mar I suppose these two sparring over him never gets old. Nice of him to intervene with Mayra, but now Aida probably thinks Mar is truly in love with her. Aida said "I love you" a long time ago and Mar still hasn't responded with anything but deep silence.

Cheers for Mayra, Luisa, and Juana. You go, girls! Of all the three, Juana asking Hector out was the biggest surprise to me. Turboncita does give good advice.

ITA on why Aurora is so passive now, but it still hurts to see her like this. Can't wait for the day she confronts Vanessssa.

Blue Lass - I'm not saying that a woman telling a guy she is not interested in him is going to stop the man from continuing to be interested in her, nor will it necessarily stop the guy from continuing to try to gain her interest. I'm saying that if she tells him she's not interested, and then someone else (whom he finds attractive) comes along and DOES show interest, he is likely to go toward the one that appreciates him.

The point being that if Aurora had told Mariano from the outset that she had feelings for him, Aida may not have had a chance with Mariano. As it was, Aurora gave Mariano no reason to say no to Aida.

Blusam: Good job, Amiga!!!
