La Pola - August 29, 2011 - The Treachery Goes On, Discussion Page
Labels: LaPola
It was hard to see the patriot army taking all those hits last night. I'm almost afraid to see what happens to them tonight, especially with Rodriguez and his wounded ego gunning for Nariño from within.
At Alejo's farewell visit to María Ignacia, she asks him if he has gotten married yet and makes a point of letting him know that she hasn't yet taken her vows.
During Pola's most recent encounter with the rich and handsome 'comerciante', he asks her if she is married.
Apparently the romantic challenges and entanglements aren't over for our couple. Too bad Pola didn't let Alejo find a sympathetic priest that night. They'd be married by now and wouldn't have to fight admirers off with a stick.
Sámano relieved of his command for Ineptitude, Theft and Cowardice -- Hah! I wouldn't be surprised if that were the motto on his (Royal) family shield. But we all know -- he'll be baaaack!
We rewound twice last night to watch Francisco getting putting out on the street and having the door slammed at his back! Finally!!!! LOL
Yes, anon, that was a delicious moment!
I must admit to tearing up at Domingo's deathbed farewell to Cata. I almost forgave him myself.
How sweet was Francisco's comeuppance? My only complaint is that I would have liked to see him squirm a bit more but that is simply not Gaspar's style.
I like the new guy and it looks as though Pola will as well.
I thought that Nariño was too harsh with Gaspar... he's going to need all the friends he can get.
So Pola is going to learn how to manufacture aguardiente? This should be fun.
In LHdM, I was certain that Emiliano would end up wearing Rosario's daddy's suit... just not this soon. Isn't her mom beautiful in a tired, world-weary way?
Carlos
I thought Nariño was a little hasty myself with Gaspar.
Yup - I thought that suit would end up on Francisco/Emiliano, too. I'm waiting impatiently to see it.
I loved Mark Tacher's facial expresions when he was listening to her 'chat' with the landlord.
another character who got her due or at least began to was Gertrudis. Pola and Cata ignored her, and at her insistence that they had to provide a place for her in their plans, Cata told her off... priceless!!
I love the exquisite tact Rosario uses to persuade Emiliano to borrow the precious traje -- he'll be doing HER a favor by giving the suit a chance to sing one more time.
In fact, now that I think about it, I love the way these two interact in an elaborately courteous dance, each trying to be kinder and more self-effacing than the other. Often, when people behave this way, they are being manipulative and insincere. The difference here is that we feel these two people are being completely genuine (at least on an emotional level; once Rosario finds out all the lies Emiliano was forced to tell... well I don't even want to think about it.)
