Cuando Me Enamoro #105 Thursday 9/15/11 It’s BBQ night in the DF. Tonight’s entree: Berta Brochette

Ahoy all, I got home late from the theater so there are bound to be some comprehension errors. Please let me know if you have a different take on anything or if there are any glaring mistakes.

Last night we were impressed that Doc Tatarrific tells Jero he should go to the DF. She senses he has doubts and the only way to dispel doubts is to confront the situation. He says she is a unique woman, she’s marvelous.

Chema thanks Adri for meeting him, is it because she feels something for him? Don’t deny it, he says, there is something between them. She says she loves Matias and Chema had something going with her daddy’s wife, so it’s all a bit weird. “Didn’t my kiss provoke (induce) anything?” he asks. All he knows is that he likes her. So much so he provokes her with another kiss. She eventually pulls away saying she’s not sure about Matias or Chema, and so she hobbles away.

Over at EM, Hit-N-Run Spare Girl pays a visit to ias. She gushes that she’s happy Adri is doing better and she whips out a couple of cheap trinkets as a testimony of her relentless and omnipresent regret. She mentions, again, how thankful she is for his friendship. She’s gotta run and gives him a cheek peck, pausing mid beso just long enough to intrigue him. Sap.

Cool. Hons and Cons are drinking champagne and nuzzling. She’ s not wearing a pink suit, but rather a single-sleeved black number. It’s gonna be a special night; he suggests a second honeymoon and she tells him she’ll love him until the end of the world. The one he’s gonna rock tonight.

Adri arrives home to find Nata crashed out on the bed. She gently covers her friend.

Heh, Roberta’s lit up at La Mentira, griping to the bartender that her mom is revolting. (Es un ASSSCOOO. I had to do a double take, it sounded like A**Hole.) “All this time my life has been a huge lie. Give me another drink.” More slurring about Monster Mom and whiny demands for more booze. Her phone rings and she tells it she HATES her mom.

Malafina (who has been trying to call Berta) yells at the maid for not knowing Berta’s whereabouts. She mutters she doesn’t know what she’s going to do with Berta.
Grumpías arrives at Coni’s and Adri tells him Nata is in the bedroom sound asleep. He gives her the trinkets and she’s happy, thinking they are from him. He rudely tells her they are from Hit-N-Run, here is her telephone number, call her, good-night. Jerk.

Next morning Coni finds a cheerful note from Nata that she’s off to do some things, thanks for letting her stay, and she’ll see her later that day.

Nata and Gonzo have an affectionate and happy reunion. They have so many things to tell each other. He starts right in with the news that he is going to marry Regina. Nata frowns but sees he is happy, so she is happy too. He tells her now it’s her turn. She has a favor to ask him...

As much as Gonzo and Nata are happy, Fina and Berta are bitchy. Breakfast is on the table and Fina comments that Berta doesn’t seem to have an appetite. “I just lost it,” grumbles the hell-spawn. I don’t blame her, the food looks like white glop. They gripe at each other. Fina: You’re a thankless wretch. Berta: You only used me as a pretext for your own ambition. Fina: Fine, then take care of your own future, economical and emotional, because if you want nothing from me then that’s what you’ll get.

As much as Fina and Berta are cold and rude, Adri and Cons are pleasant and loving. Adri is thrilled that Cons and Hons are back together. Mopías strolls through long enough to kiss Cons and snub Adri. Yes little man, we see you are trying hard to make your point. Adri denies to Cons that something is wrong between them. Adri limped with her cane last night but this morning she is in very high spike heels. It’s a miracle!!

Hons meets with the bank manager Luciana to thank her personally for the bank’s support during his rough patch. She gets a call and has to step out for a moment. Hons peeks at her laptop and sees a folder titled “Jeronimo Linares” just as Luciana loudly exclaims “See you later Jeronimo.” Que??? He asks does Jeronimo Linares bank there? Claro, he’s one of their most important clients.

Berta’s in bed nursing her hangover when Daddy calls. He wants to see her right away. He’s sorry that she doesn’t feel well he wants to see her NOW! “For what?” she thought-bubbles as she rubs her aching temples.

Ezequiel, the servant that satisfies, strolls amongst the vines in deep thought. He recalls last night in split screen. On the left he’s about to get horizontal with the house-guest. On the right Augi is warning him against biting the hand that feeds him; he remembers what happened to Alvaro, doesn’t he? Ez hisses at himself for being an incredible dumba**, then whines a bit about Alfonsina, then wonders about Berta’s particular interest in the vine cuttings. She had asked him how could a vine cutting be so valuable, one that is worth gold? She heard Augi threaten someone because he replied “with your life if anything happens to it”. Ez wonders, could it be true what the señorita said, that the patrón has a valuable cutting? Because that would be very odd.

Ines and Isidro are having a tense breakfast. He says he’s glad they are alone so that they can talk calmly, but then he immediately jumps down Inez’s throat because he wants her answer about Guadalajara. How calm of him. She doesn’t have an answer yet and he gets all bent out of shape, saying her silence pains him. Dude, do you have a brain tumor or something? What happened to Mexico’s perfect couple of yesterday? Maybe he’s going through manopause.

I didn’t understand this next conversation and I probably got it wrong: Ezek approaches Augi with something on his mind. He’s been thinking they should reserve some cuttings in case they get hit by the plague. Augi tells Zeke that he knows better than anyone that the only cuttings worth a fortune are the ones from La Bonita. They are the only ones worth preserving. Ez says somehthing and Augi tells Zeke he has very tiny mind.

Carlos and Mati visit El Padre to ask him to marry them.

Laz joins Kari on the beautiful patio that overlooks the wine country. He starts to get a little romantic until she shuts him down by reminding him she is still in mourning. This guy is a saint. He says he understands tradition, however he can’t help dreaming of her. Chica, are you human? I would be so all over that bad boy’s bones right now. In fact I need to get a glass of ice water just to cool myself off a little.

Speaking of ice water, Sulkías who is all Mr. Happy Face because Renata is in his good graces again, hugs his “sis” and exclaims how happy he is to see her. Adri comes in and Nata rightfully forgets her bro in her gal pal excitement. Nata mentions she’s happy A&M are in love but then it’s weird trips incorporated as A&M glance at each other guiltily.

Over at Chez Garce (that’s French for B**ch House) Berta’s dressed and ready to go to the showdown. She’s still pithed at mamacita who says if Berta is going to papa for money she is very wrong. “No you’re the one who is wrong,” snips Berta, not knowing she’s about to be skewered by the rest of the family. Fina warns her not to reveal her diabolical secret or Berta will regret it the rest of her life.

At the Regina Center Coni gets a call from someone and she plans to meet them at a nearby restaurant. Chema joins her in the kitchen and apologizes for inconveniencing her. Well, maybe not her but her husband. He gets a bad headache which worries Cons, she says she feels he is like family, but he reminds her, yet again, he’s not a kid and leaves.

When Berta gets to EM she is rude to Beth. She goes into the conference room and faces the firing squad of Matias, Nata and Jero. Pop asks why did she lie about Jero being the baby daddy? “Because it was the truth”, insists Berta. Jero accuses her and says he knows that the baby daddy was...his brother Rafael!

Berta bares her bodacious chops at him and denies all, but Jero offers of the proof that shows what kind of woman she is. Nata pipes up that the record shows Berta did NOT lose the baby as a result of falling down the stairs. Berta says their having her record is illegal, but oh, right, Jero got it as a result of wallowing with La Doctora. Gonzo is very disappointed in Berta. “So you’re against me too Papa?” Gonzo says he is on the side of truth. Matias with his apish stance has been chomping at the bit, dying to spout off in anger and he does, saying Berta is a demon. No argument there. They all glare at each other.

Laz and Ezequiel talk about the plague and Ez says he doesn’t think he’ll be working at Cruz de Amor much longer. He messed up by gettin’ jiggy with Renata’s sister.

Alfonsina and Kari are shopping for a dress that will hopefully drive Ezequiel wild.

Back at the family BBQ Berta is just about medium-well. Nata says that both she and Jero believe that Fina was in on these lies from the beginning. Matias is gleefully enraged, “damn you both.” No, damn only mom, insists Berta. She says she’ll tell the truth, Fina is the one who concocted everything and made Berta comply with her plot. Fina is at fault for everything, blah blah blah boo hoo for me. Jero asks why didn’t Berta just refuse? She says she was between the sword and the wall. Matias calls bull**it on Berta and Nata agrees. Berta had a choice.

Ez swears he didn’t mean to boink the Berta but he couldn’t say no. Laz totally understands and Ez admits he now has an inkling of what happened with Alfonsina. Some discussion about Augi being engaged to Renata but also doing Berta, blah blah blah. Laz asks, does Nata know about what’s going on between Augi and Berta? Oh hell no.

Fina pulls out some documentation about Gonzo’s life insurance and sees that it pays out double in case of accidental death. She cackles as she happily recalls the other ‘accidental’ deaths that she caused, Roberto’s and Rafa’s. Hee hee hee, Gonzo is worth more to her dead than alive. She’s got to take advantage of the situation before he changes his beneficiary.

Aw jeez, Gonzo is still ripping on Berta and he’s in overdrive. Enough of the tribunal already. He screams at her on behalf of Matías and she tells him that his lawyer changed their marriage contract because Fina asked. Fina manipulated everything. Nata yells that Berta was responsible for her own deelio. Jero takes a turn too, then apologizes to Matías for the breach in their friendship. He also sincerely apologizes to Renata for his prior craziness. He excuses himself and leaves Berta at the mercy of the heavy breathing Monterrubios.

Jero runs into Hons at the elevator. They discuss the coincidence of their banking at the same establishment. Hons becomes suspicious.

Ez is in the vineyard instructing the workers to fumigate with the magic anti-plague concoction provided by La Bonita. Augi approaches and is not happy but Ez tells the workers to move out. He then tells Augi that Jero isn’t even around because he took the first plane to the capital. “To the capital?” asks Augi. “Yes, to the capital”, assures Ez. Let’s say capital just a couple more times. Augie juts out his lower jaw as he realizes that Nata is in the capital too.

Berta gripes to her family about the doctora’s lack of professional ethics but they stay on track with the fact that Berta and Fina are liars. Gonzo tells her to get out, it’s all over. She begs him not to abandon her. He says after what he did to Matías, Nata and him, she gave up everything for ambition, envy and hate. He leaves and she gets the Fina look on her face. Back to the dark side for you missy.

The kilt-clad Nata catches up with Jero in the garage to thank him for his part in revealing the truth. She says they have a lot to talk about and they have the usual “it’s too late for us, you’re engaged, you have another girlfriend” conversation. She tells him she hopes he finds in Marina that which he could never find in her. He wishes the same for her but Augi is not the guy; please look for another because Augi’s not the man she thinks he is.

Avances: Fina tells Berta that Regina is Renata’s real mother.

Grito de Dolores a todos!!!!

Good work. I don't often have the time to comment on this series, but I had to now.

Berta's goose is going to continue to cook until the end. She shouldn't be able to get away with attempting to impersonate Regina's lost daughter; doesn't Regina know that Pepa's daughter was named "Roberta"?

The glop on her breakfast plate did look unappealing, but so did Roberta playing with it like a disrespectful child. Which is, of course, what she is.

I've asked this a couple of times: Do people in Mexico really say "en el capital" instead of "En D.F." or the name of the state capital? This sounds so weird. In the US we say "D.C" or the state capital name.

Good morning, Sylvia! Your recap is splendid as always. I don't have much time to comment yet but I have to applaud your nicknames for Matias. They gave me a good laugh before I have to rush off for class. We should call him Mopías from now on.

Amy

Great recap, Sylvia. You've got some great zinging lines today. A few of my faves:

"Aw jeez, Gonzo is still ripping on Berta and he’s in overdrive. Enough of the tribunal already."

"Adri limped with her cane last night but this morning she is in very high spike heels. It’s a miracle!!"

"Dude, do you have a brain tumor or something? What happened to Mexico’s perfect couple of yesterday? Maybe he’s going through manopause."

I didn't notice Adri's miraculous recovery, but had very similar thoughts about the others.

Then of course on your own personal note there was:

"Chica, are you human? I would be so all over that bad boy’s bones right now."

Cute.

Adri made an astute observation about Chema always hitting on women who are already in a relationship.

Roberta has a very good case against Dr Delicious. (I saw our very own Dr. D again yesterday while making rounds... she smiled, but drat... she was wearing pants).

I was disappointed that Jerry failed to bring up Berta's relationship with Augie.

If he didn't want to pile on Robi, he could have just mentioned Selene... I'm sure Roberta wouldn't mind throwing Selene to the wolves.

I want Renata out of Augie's clutches.

Strange that when Gonzo was burbling about his engagement to Regina, she didn't mention her engagement to him... or maybe not so strange.

Carlos

Urban, I always enjoy your very astute observations on the human condition. Yes indeed, Roberta is a disrespectful child. She respects no one, least of all herself.

As to your question, last night was the first I recall hearing someone say "en el capital". Usually they refer to Mexico City as the "DF" or just "Mexico". I was actually surprised they kept saying capital.

Amy, I must thank our Carlos for the inspiration for Mopías.

Carlos, thank you for pointing out Adri's comment to Chema about him going after women in relationships. He should know that about himself.

Yes, I noticed Nata did not even mention Augie. I figured it was because 1) She didn't even think of it (preferred reason), or 2) She thought dad might not be entirely on board with it.

The final scene with Nata and Jero was rather sad. Regarding his final statement to Nata, for once I agree with Jero (and our Carlos)...Renata needs to get out of Augi's clutches NOW.

Cap'n! I'm dying laughing at 'Sulkias, Chumpias, and Mopias'! Rather like the Three Stooges, no?!

Wonderful recap as always, amiga!!!

I felt sad at the very end...I felt sad because of the avances showing Tatariffic so happy that she 'finally' has Jero and that Dr. Carlos' Matilde is happy right along with her.

What sayest thou about that, Dr. Carlos...YOUR Matilde in favour of Tatariffic. Oy.

Anyway...it felt sad to me for we all know what Augie really is and we know his plans for Nata if he were to marry her.

I hope Nata remains firm and questions her true feelings for the Windbreaker Specialist.

I just hate to see Nata take a beating with Augie while Tatariffic strolls down the street with Jero...who really does confuse me with his loving comments to Tatariffic, but yet says he is in love with Nata.

He is a very confusing man.

Lastly...Roberta deserved every bit of what she got with the firing squad, but I didn't see it coming with Gonzo telling her to get lost. That did surprise me.

Susanita

Cap'n...almost forgot! Thank you so much for the link to the Grito! Very informative link to history!

Susanita

Aye, aye Cap'n! Holy smokes you are cooking with this rollicking BBQ episodio. I am so glad you got to share your expansive humor on this roast worthy night. I too was howling at the miracle of the stiletto heels, they actually cured her limp, imagine. Poor continuity there. Roberta played her poor me, I'm okay you all are not and I'm going to run that nasty truth telling DocTata right out of town. How dare anyone tell the truth about me!

Carlos, thanks for the catch about Blue-eyes always going for the women who are spoken for.

And the servant who satisfies, another classic naming, Sylvia, along iwht grumpias, mopias, et.al. for our petulant Matiaas. He almost deserves the boring H&R girl. Adriana is so special, but I know she is so wonderful she will tryto rehab him and give him back his personality inspite of the evidence that it won't be worth it. I still think Carlos is who deserves her but he is hopelessly gone over headbandgirl.

I am so glad that Lazaro and Zeke are on to Augie's dirty tricks with the sisters and with the upcoming theft of the vine shoots worth gold.

I will check in later, there is so much substance to last nights revelations and yes I cried through the garage scene with Renata and Jero, so much sweeter and loving than the one the night before with Renata wincing form Augie's grasping kisses. Oh well, it isn't our lot to see even a brief reconciliation of kisses but at least this is a deep reconciliation of their hearts.

Willa and her buddy Cisco are lobbying for a walk down by the Rio Grande so catch you later. And again, thanks for your wonderful writing iwht wit and humor, Sylvia, you are a star!

Amazing re-cap this is great!!! Back to the dark side with you!! Love it Love it Love it. I think that Berta and Fina are about to become a real problem. I am wondering if Berta and Fina are going to survive to the end of the Novela or are they going to have a cell together in prison.

Auggie needs to be exposed, soon I think that Ezek might be the one to get the ball rolling!!!

Susanita, I, too, was surprised at Gonzo's rebuff of Roberta.

Darn, I missed the advance about Dr. Tatarrific. Oh well, I can't blame her for going after what she wants. I shan't comment on her taste in men however.

Ah Cheryl, I am jealous of you and the doggies going for a walk along the Rio Grande. As for me I am off to work so I'll check in with y'all later.

Thanks for the comments everyone. I look forward to hearing everyone's take on last night's events and revelations. Aside form those of you already in Jero's camp are we starting to soften up on him? We saw a new side to him last night but I am still mad at him.

Jules, I just missed your comment. I am totally with you in that Laz and Ezek should be key in exposing Augustin. He treats them like peons so I would like to see them give some back.

Just got off the most boring 4 hour conference call in history and I thank you for saving my sanity with this fab recap. What an episode and the title is perfect!!!

I'm with you Susanita, Berta deserved what she got. But her constant refrerence to how they got the info makes me think that our good Dr. Tata might be in a tad of trouble soon. Gonzo really let her have it and that is probably what will make her go to the dark side more than anything. His disappointment in her pretty well dries up her lifeline. Not like she wants to go out and get a job like anyone else.

Speaking of Gonzo, I would say hiring a full time bodyguard may not be a bad idea? Better not hurt our senior galan.

I will give the directors a pass on the Adri miracle...they've been pretty good on realism. She was probably sick of the chair, cane, whole bit. We may need her more mobile soon, who knows.

I will finalizing my order today for my "I heart Laz" tee. That move in for the kiss, and then it was just a sweet gentle on-the-forehead job, I was toast, Kari should have been a puddle of mush on the ground!

Hate when they show those quick shot previews - who was the male body - cat got in front of me and I misseed who and what that was all about.

Forgot to add - was rather impressed by Jero's behavior in the confrontation and the scene with Nata - that was a killer on the emotional richter scale.

Hopefully Nata will realize since he was on the level about Berta, she'll start thinking twice about Auggie Doggy. Too bad she's in Mexico, maybe Laz would spill the beans...

Maybe he’s going through manopause.

Hmph! I'll have you know there is no such ailment.

If there is, it's caused by crazy chicas doing crazy chica things thus driving men crazy.

So there.

Hmph and double-hmph!

:^)

I had to stop in the middle of reading the recap to comment. Girl, the names you are coming up with for Tantrum Boy are a hoot!!!!

Robey

Rewinded and paused my DVR last night. The body is Dr. Nasty!!!

Isn't someone going to notice Nata's wearing an engagement ring?

Robey

Thanks for the great recap Cap'n, you are awesome! It really helped fill in details for me as I missed several scenes.

Hmmm, methinks Sharkbyte doth has his Mathilde headband on a tad tight.

Splendid storytelling. I love the title and the BBQ theme especially. Berta sure did get grilled; about time.

I vote for Isidro as Mr. Inappropriate. Qué the heck? He won't let Ines talk, then snipes that her silence is hurtful? I get that he wants to move but he won't even let Ines talk about her concerns? Have they only been happily married this long because she's always happened to agree with him about everything?

That breakfast did look revolting. What was it, lumpy gruel? Childish of Roberta to play waterfall with it, but I would have cheered had she just thrown it at Fina.

Hilarious recap Sylvia! I too loved the names for Matias. That boy needs a good slap across the face. And just when one of our solid senior couple is back on track, they start messing with Inez and Isidro! They can't move away, darn it. They and Hon&Con are the only ones close to finding out the truth about Pepa/Fina. Perhaps for that very reason the writers WILL send them away?

I did not feel one ounce of pity for Berta during that grilling. It's far less than she deserves, and she has been getting away with crap for too long.

The parting between Nata and Jero was very sad, but I think they are on the right track. The anger, resentment and mistrust between them seems to be gone. That's the first step towards them being able to find their way back to each other. I'm sure at some point he will have to rescue her from Augie, cementing his galan status.

I think Kari is melting a bit. When is this darn luto period over? She's not wearing black at least.

Will Zeke fall for the red hot dress on his red hot wife? At least he acknowledged to Laz that he understands her a bit more now.

Hi Ms. Sylvia. Can finally get back on the computer now that the library carpet has dried(heavy duty steam cleaning). Great recap..."Berta Brochette" is a dilly, ditto for Chez Garce.

The final scene between Renata and Jeronimo broke my heart. Soooo much yearning, soooo much unsaid.

Now a fashion carp. AWFUL AWFUL OUTFIT for Miss Renata. She has a great figure but you wouldn't know it with that lumpy gray jacket, unfortunate belt, stupid skirt/shorts/skort whatever...Put the woman in a grownup dress please! Or back to the folklore gowns. But no more of these dreary fashion mistakes.

See...I nurse the heartbreak with fashion trivia. Works for me.

And welcome back Lila! We DID miss your rollicking comments.

Oh, and I noticed the sky high heels on Adri the say after the cane too Sylvia. It's a miracle! I figured the actress earned it after weeks of a wheel chair, crutches and a cane. Plus, maybe people felt it was kind of mean 'cause it looked like they were mocking Wendy Gonzalez who lost the Adri job due to knee surgery, when she could have stayed on and just hobbled around in her cast and crutches? :)

Sylvia thanks for your wonderful recap. You claim you were sleep deprived but this one was pure gold. Like UA, I often can't watch or comment on this show but your recap is a show stopper. Starting with your hilarious names for Mathias.

I was shocked Roberta did get BBQed and I think it will cause her to return to Demon-Mom.

Sylvia, I love that "servant who satisfies" line! Among others, to be sure. Why do I get the feeling that no one like Matias anymore? Poor baby Matias. Sic semper guys who can't be bothered to shave, ugly toad-boy.

Also love the BBQ ref - a true grilling fiesta! And I'll stop there, though one thing I love is good BBQ.

Daisynjay, profound sympathies on the conference call. In my experience, more than three parties guarantees a waste of time. I've know guys to punch their 'mute' button and go to lunch and never be missed.

Sharkbyte, you're right. And why o why can't these women realize that, yes, men have feelings and hopes and dreams. Honestly, you'd think they regarded us as, as, as, well... PIGS!!

And, Sylvia, special thanks since we tuned in at the usual time and missed the first ten or fifteen mins. Really appreciate your catching us up.

Sylvia, as always, a great recap, thank you.

In Texas we call Roberta's grilling a Donkey BBQ.

Rosemary

Wonderful recap and a special shout out to yesterday's conversation translations! Such pro's!!!
Now from the Lone Defender...Matias has been burned by love at least three times in this same novela.
Renata: I love you...but not that way
Roberta: I love you...but for what you can do for me
Adri: I love you...but wait, I'm lookin around
I don't blame Matias for his toughening up. Yep, there's some anger there with Adri; afterall she was seeking him out when he was stuck on Renata and caught in the snare of Roberta. Now.ow.www he's suppose to take it blindly? Like Antonio??? Bump that to the curb Matias! Hitandrun Sis let's have dinner again.

About Renata's mode of dress, I'm thinking moma MalaFina probably told her she looked like a ramera when she wore anything that showed skin/legs/chest. Roberta could do no wrong and Renata could do no right.

After reading the reactions here to Lazaro's gentle kiss to Kari's forehead... perhaps a little detail that Jerry might well have considered to punctuate his little garage speech with?

Or would that have brought our show to a premature conclusion?

Unfinished business:

Tony's missing wife and daughter

Is Dr. Doofus really dead?

Gitana's visit from the vet

Renata's appointment with the cardiologist

Chema's spells

Carlos

Cap'n Sylvia, you are on fire in this cap, girl! Whoa! Very appropriate given your presiding over a BBQ! Too many right on, howl out loud moments to mention! Thank you! I think Berta will return to momma recommitted to a new level of bitchdetude. Just cannot see them doing the, "you're Regina's real daughter" thing. Not only due to Berta's "character" but there is no way Regina won't demand a dna test be done on both girls. . .and why wouldn't Fina end up in jail? I totally don't get it. Goin' back to read comments: you guys always have such great analysis.

Cheryl, thank you for your kind comments yesterday! Bless you!

Lila

Wow, Carlos, forgot about Mr. Lack of Expression's family. Dang, please don't let that mean he'll be coming back.

Good points on the others. I think on Chema, they are building to something. Poor guy...a feel a sacrifical lamb roast is in the making. Sniff!

Mike - oh this call was the worst. Global team "all hands call" to go over the next phase of our special project. Basically six people were talking in NYC (and could barely hear two most of the time) and we didn't get to questions until two hours in. Working from home made it less painful...I got a load of laundry in during one particularly bad spell that had me dozing.

Thanks JudyB for the welcome! Can't wait for tonight. One thing. Anyone else think they sometimes give away too much in the previews? Maybe I should, quick, cut the tv off right after the song! This show still surprises me but I don't think they have to give away so much to get us to keep watching!

Lila (word verification "thousap" -- seems we could thus address a few of our friends in this little story. . . ;-D )

Ahoy all and TGIF!! Thanks for all the fun and hilarious comments. You folks are a scream not to mention very astute in your observations of our show and its characters.

I admit I was totally channeling SharkByte will all the Matias nicknames. I almost accidentally threw Doofberto in the mix.

Robey, oh I definitely noticed Renata's ring last night and so did Jero when he kissed her hands. He got all sullen and buggered off after that.

ITA that Isidro is Mr. I for last night.

Rosemary, aha!!! I have seen a boat named Donkey BBQ. I was wondering what in the heck it meant. Thank you.

Bonney, good for you for defending Matias. You make a strong case for him. Basically he is a good guy but his timing is off.

Lila, sometimes I don't bother watching all the previews. They are either too much or completely deceptive.

Um, so I had a BBQ chicken sandwich for lunch and I'm marinating lamb chops to BBQ this weekend.

Sylvia, a Donkey BBQ translates as an A$$ Chewing. What a funny name for a boat. I guess there was Donkey BBQ when he purchased the boat!

Rosemary

That must be it. How funny! I'm glad I finally know what it means. I'll seem very smart next time I see the boat and can pipe up as to its meaning.

I guess Renata couldn't admit to herself, or Jero or even Adriana that her "engagement" to Augie is a sham .She does admit that she wonders if she is engaged to revenge, pity, fear, and probably a few more reasons. She should stop to consider that if after this amount of time, she dreads his very touch, it aint gonna get any better. She acts like a switch will be flipped and she will suddenly want to jump his bones but I think she is getting vibes of some of Augie's darker characteristics, chiefly the pathological control freak ones. At least she and Jero seem to have disolved the anger and blame for each other and can begin to build a new more adult relationship.

Sylvia, I'm late to the dance once again... I loved, loved, loved your recap - waaaaay better than the actual episode. Thanks mucho...

Donkey BBQ! Never heard that but I can't wait to use it. Am I the only person who kinda felt sorry for Berta? That was quite a grilling. I'm surprised she remained standing.

I know Matias is supposed to be one of the good guys but I just can't feel warm and fuzzy about him. Perhaps when he grows up? Adri deserves so much better then the current version of Mat. (but not Chema - he's toast after all)

Hey Emilia, better late than never and our parties go on for a loooong time. I'm always glad when you and Mike are able to pop in. He was quite the card earlier.

I did feel a teensy bit sorry for Berta, especially when Gonzo shunned her, but I'm sure I'll reverse my opinion shortly.

In this episode Matias reminded me of an ape the way he kept puffing up in anger and lurching around.

Exactly. If he rips his shirt open, I'm heading for the hills!
