Do you take something for the migraine? I hope you feel better in the morning. Lots of coffee should help.

Ivan has a lot on his plate now and he is going to really let Gerry have it tomorrow night. At this stage this secret benefits nobody. But I still feel bad for the child once he finds out that Maripaz was his egg donor.

So Saul knows about Carmen's daughter; I wasn't sure up until this evening. I'll bet he doesn't give her a centavo for her.

Love Bruno. He must be related to Duke of the Bush's Beans commercials.

Hijo Bastardo....

Saul bumps into Carmen and tells her he will try to win her over again, Carmen tells him that if her brothers find out he is her baby daddy they will kick his a$$. Saul offers to give her money in exchange for a friend with benefits type of relationship. Carmen brags about maybe not needing that since now they are part owners of El Socorro. She spills the beans about the land now belonging to Camilo.

Ivan and Lucia kiss and make up, he tells her he would like for her to go to the US with him and that she would be free to visit her family anytime.

Saul tells Juan Jaime that Camilo bought the land from the Curiel’s, Juan Jaime calls Lucrecia and starts to go off on her about her selling the land he had wanted to buy. . Lucrecia tells JJ that perhaps Carmen lied. Later Lucrecia asks Lucia to talk to Ivan and ask Ivan to lie to JJ about the land. Lucia refuses to be involved in any more lies.

Lucrecia asks Lucia for Ivan’s number so she can call him and ask him to lie, she refuses so she calls MP and gets the number from her. Lucrecia then calls Ivan and asks him to lie about the land deal. Ivan doesn’t agree or disagree to do what she asks.

Antolin assures Carolina that he has found the person behind the blackmailing and has put a stop to it. Carolina asks him to leave the type of life he lives behind him and to do something more on the up and up. Antolin promises to be careful.

Iván goes to Gerry’s house, but Gerry is not there Alex is home alone and opens the door. Ivan and Alex make small talk, Alex tells Ivan that he has never been to the beach and may not get to go because Gerry’s business isn’t going so well and they don’t have the money. Ivan tells him he has a house on the beach and perhaps he can visit.

Saul informs Antolin that he can now borrow money from Camilo being that Cam now owns part of El Socorro. Antolin is impactado.

Iván tells Gerardo that he still thinks Alex is his son, Gerardo once again denies this. Iván tells Anthony about his plan to take Alex on vacation and do a DNA test while there. Anthony asks if he and Carlota can join them.

Juan Jaime and Iván are dining, Juan Jaime is insisting Iván finance the hydroponic system for his ranch, Iván says no again. Juan Jaime then asks about the sale of the stake in El Socorro, Iván tells him the land was his and he donated it to Camilo, he explains that he was Teodoro Curiel’s grandson and it was willed to his mother. He tells JJ his mother was a servant and that her name was Alicia Villagómez that ended up pregnant by JJ.JJ pretends to not remember Alicia saying he slept with many women.

Juan Jaime arrives at his house and stands in front of his mirror then throws something at it. It breaks and Saul and the maid come out to see what is going on. The maid hides behind a wall and listens as JJ informs Saul that Ivan is his bastard son.

Esther and Judith come in and see the maid cleaning up and ask what happened, they get her to spill the sopa about Ivan the bastard son.

Lucrecia tells Maripaz she no longer is part of la familia Curiel, Maripaz says it is her that denounces them as her family.
Iván tells Lucía that his motives for justice are no longer valid he insists in believing Alex is his son. Lucía asks him if he would separate his son from a family that loved him, Ivan says perhaps not, he says he could accept that he may never find his son and asks Lucia if she would like to have a son with him, she responds, yes.

Gerry is doubling down on the cowardice. And Carolina needs to get a grip. Bad move on both of their parts.

Why did Lucrazia disown Merry Piece?

I laugh every time they show the closing credits. Everyone else is talking to someone or in a pose. Merry Piece is swallowing down some alcohol. Heh heh heh.

Gloria hope you feel better.

Urban Anthropologist, I didn't realize Saul knew about Lichita either. I'm with you I don't think Carmen will get anything, I think Saul was just looking for someone to knock boots with.

Bruno has a magnificent dog whiperer in his trainer, he has already mastered floral deliveries.

Hope you feel better, Gloria!

Gerry really really ticked me off last night. Ivan was being quite calm and just wanted the truth. I think Ivan was still in a frame of mind to be grateful his son was in a loving home.

I can't wait to see how they play out that plot line. It's been mentioned several times what affect the truth would have on Alex. I want to see what the writers will do. IMHO the best for Alex is not necessarily living with Ivan.

Oh Antolin, how do I react to you? You are so tender and almost vulnerable with Carolina and yet such a sleaze-o with everyone else!

Feel better, Gloria. Few things worse than migraines.

I must say that DZ is exceptional in his depiction of rage. You can see the veins popping! I'm glad that he is modulating the rage in some of his conversations with the people who have done him so much dirt over the years. Loved the conversation with Gerardo last night. Too bad that Gerardo didn't see this as an opportunity to do the right thing.

I hope that they all get to the beach: Ivan, Lucia, Bruno, Alex, Tony and Carlotita. Tooo cute and a DNA test in the offing to boot.

Feel better Gloria!

Thanks so much for the min-recap rubycantu!

Sara- Ditto. I was so ticked at Gerry last night. Ivan was being calm and reasonable. That would have been the perfect time to come out with the truth. But, no! The man lies and lies and lies.

Now Alex has heard part of a conversation that will leave him extremely confused.

And JJ with his ridiculous lie that he doesn't remember Alicia or Ivan was just funny. Deny, deny, deny. He did say that IF Ivan was his, he would be proud to have a son like him. I think that might have been a little true.

So much for keeping Camilo's part ownership of Socorro under wraps. That Carmen is something else. I can totally see her and Saul as a match now. Poor Lechita, to have such horrid parents.

Funniest conversation of the night was when Lucrezia found out from CArly that Ivan was still in Lucia's room and got owrried that they might be doing it. Carly's saucy answer was they probably aren't because we're in the house, and if they are, more power too them! Maybe Lucia will get pregnant and she and Ivan will get married and leave us all behind. She was all giggly about the possibility. Lucrezia, not so much. Later when Ivan asked Lucia if she would like to have his baby and then they started sucking face, I thought they might be taking Carly's advice. :)

"Why did Lucrazia disown Merry Piece?"

Anon207- I think it has been coming for a while. The fact that MP got her apartment because she was balckmailing her own family and has NO qualms about it at all is the biggest factor. Yet, here she was begging for their help to get HER out of a blackmail situation. Now she says she doesn't need them (since Antolin is her new protector). If she can't respect her family, and she doesn't think she needs them, then Lucrezia is giving her just what she wants. I think Lucrezia is pretty sure that MP won't be able to survive without them and that it will just be a matter of time before she's begging to come back home.

And speaking of Antolin, like you Sara I had conflicting emotions watching him with Carolina. So tender, so romantic. Flowers and hand kissing and declarations about her making him a better person. And then next he's plotting with Saul.

Thank you so much. I too was confused as to why NOW Lucrezia was disowning Maripaz. Thanks for putting all the pieces together.

I have to wonder with Gerry being so nauseating and not able to stand up to the truth, if he is going to commit suicide, since he can't handle the truth? Just wondering.

I am probably the only one that is not a fan of Ivan and Lucia. I wish there were some other girl out there. Lucia knows everything Ivan has gone through, yet she can't give him some kind of peace, really - Ivan just walk away.

Feel better Gloria, I truly feel your pain-I suffer from severe migraine as well; thank you Ruby for stepping in with your fab recap.

Nellie, you're not the only one that's not liking the pairing; I'm ambivalent as well because I think that Ivan deserves better than the Lomelis PERIOD I like Lucia as a person and she was a lot stronger at the beginning but ever since the reveal that Theo was Ivan's grandpa; she's been acting immature and omitting important things from him and I bet you a whole quarter when Ivan finds out her knowing that Alex was his son; this will not be pretty. Thus far, Ivan has been on the up and up with this relationship the only negative that I personally don't appreciate is when he's all riled up and start shaking the beejesuz out of Lucia ESO NO ME GUSTA PARA NADA other than that besides Bruno, Ivan is still my first love.

Gerry lies lies lies and lies some more. JJ denies denies denies and brakes his precious mirror.

If Maripaz was my daughter, I'll disown her myself a long time ago. I bet you a whole nickel she'll be back graveling at her family because she got herself mix up on some stuff.

I change my mind, I love Bruno, Ivan and now Alex. I think he and Ivan will be the (bestest) father and son once the dust settles on this debacle.

Vivi, I love love Carlotta giggling reaction at the prospect that the vanster and Lucia might be doing the horizontal mambo jumbo. I was cracking up so much.

Antolin is still intriguing to me. I know that he'll become the better son to Celia than the rest. At least he's brutally honest about who he is and knows his limitation. I can't say the same of Carmen and Camillo.

I'm disappointed in Judith; this is the second time she refers to Ivan as "el hijo de la sirvienta" in a very condenscending way. I had a feeling she was above all that stuff; perhaps not!

Myo-

Gerry's penchant for lying about Alex isn't going to make Alex's life any easier, especially now that he's overheard part of this conversation.

Of course, this novela would be only 10 episodes if Gerry had fessed up from the start. Then Ivan would thank him for rescuing Alex, build a big house, marry Lucia, and they would all live together happily ever after with Lucia telling him in the finale that she's embarazada.

Gloria I hope you feel better.

Thanks Ruby for your recap and Vivi for that tidbit on Carlota and Lucrazy. Carly is hilarious.

Nellie/Renata - I completely understand your ambivalence (or dislike) toward Lucia. While I do like her, she seems to be able to excuse the horrible things her family does quite easily. Last night when she took the "would you take Alex from a loving home" argument, I was greatly vexed. Why does Ivan have to sacrifice knowing his son as his son. Alex is well adjusted and though this won't be easy, he will survive.

In keeping Alex from an orphanage, Gerry did what was best. But now that his father is back and wants to know his son, he and Carolina need to get a grip and tell him. If they had been upfront with Ivan (yes UA the TN would only be 10 episodes) I think Ivan would have no problems staying close to them so they could see Alex grow up.

I'm actually concern Carolina might be dumb enough to try to run away with Alex with Antolin and leave Gerry behind.

Carmen just gets worse and worse.

Gerry will now have to lie TO Alex about Alex.

Then when Alex finally discovers the truth, he won't want anything to do with Gerry or Carolina...he will want to run straight to nuDaddy Ivan.

Then Gerry & Carolina will blame IVAN for the discord in their home, when all they had to do was tell Ivan the truth from the beginning and he likely would have left Alex w/Gerry & Carolina and said nothing. After all, Ivan did tell either Toni or Lucia that obviously Gerry/Carolina were doing a good job of raising Alex because he was healthy, smart & thriving.

But, I don't know why Ivan expected Gerry to tell the truth when Gerry couldn't even tell the truth about bringing the flowers to Alicia's grave (which if he had told the truth about at least the flowers from the beginning Ivan probably wouldn't have thought twice about it because Gerry was always nice to Alicia & Ivan).

I don't hold Judith looking down on Ivan as the "son of a servant" against her because her whole world thinks that way. Was Ester THAT upset JJ cheated on her or is she more upset that JJ has an outside child, one by a servant no less?

Argh, Gerry's digging himself a very deep grave. So many chances to tell the truth. So obvious that Ivan can find out the truth on his own if he decides to get a DNA test. So obvious that Ivan wants the best for Alex and doesn't want to cause upheaval in his life. And yet Gerry persists in lying. What an idiot.

Why does Antolin keep bringing Carolina flowers she can't see? Roses don't smell all that good. Why not a fancy candle or something, if it's just to smell?

I'm in agreement; best moment of the episode:
Lucrazy: What if they're...YOU KNOW?!
Carlota: OJALÁ!

I like how the secrets are revealed so quickly. So JJ now knows Ivan is his son...it will be more interesting to see how that plays out than it would be to spend months seeing near-misses with JJ almost but not quite learning this bit of news. What a tool. He's had so many women, he can't possibly remember one he knew he had a kid with? As if. And his wife knows he tomcats around and has no issue with that, only is mad that one of these flings with a servant, ew, led to the natural outcome? Where in heck is he getting all these supposed women/girls who are willing to knock boots with him? Does Alamos have a sprawling red-light district we haven't seen?

Rest up and feel better, Gloria! Such a bummer to have a migraine!

Julia- Have you ever smelled a Sterling rose? One of the best flowers I have ever smelled! But I agree. So many other flowers would be better than most roses. Jasmine, perhaps.

I have not ever smelled a Sterling rose. I wonder if one of the local florists has one I could sniff during my lunch break.

My uncle has something in his garden called night-scented stalk. It really does only have a scent at night, but it smells SO GOOD. That's my favorite. Jasmine is good, too.

I'm surprised Carmen hasn't been getting any money out of Saul all these years. He doesn't want anyone to know Lichita is his; Carmen has no sense of decency...

I'm not surprised about Carmen not getting any dinero out of Saul. If the child were a boy she would, but females are disposable to jerks like JJ and Saul.

I don't think he actually cares about Lichita, but I would think Saul would worry that if it got out that he had a child with Carmen, his chances of marrying someone like Lucia wouldn't be so good, so he'd want to keep it quiet. Carmen seems the type to take advantage of that.

"knock boots" "horizontal mambo jumbo" I'm learning new expressions in both languages!
I'm seeing a parallel with Gerry - Lucrezia browbeats him, and he takes it for much of his adult life
Carolina insists she doesn't want him to tell the truth, they'll have to run away with Alex, and Gerry caves and lies to Ivan (in spite of his guilt and anxiety)
He and Ester should get together; they'd be nice to each other and about the same level of wimpiness so one of them wouldn't have to be the doormat. She's Ivan's step-mom sort of, so it would all be in the family.

Thanks to all the recappers! I could not make it without your wonderful translations!
I am sorry to disagree with some of you, about the Ivan and Lucia situation. I think that Ivan does not deserve Lucia! I think Ivan has one emotion! Anger!
I do not think there is any chemistry there!
