Teresa Wed 9/14/11 #138 Broken Hearts, Shattered Lives

REPRISE
Luisa stops by Mariano’s office to find out why he came over to her house earlier. Was it really to see her or to cause trouble between Teresa and Arturo. If that was his motivation it worked: they’re getting divorced.

Mariano warns Luisa not to trust Teresa. She is not as she seems. He drops the bomb that Teresa is hooking up with Fernando to secure her monetary future.

Luisa scoffs at the absurdity of his claim. After all, she’s about to get married! Mariano matter-of-factly informs Luisa that, for Teresa, that is not an impediment. He recounts how he too once thought he was going to marry Teresa and that nothing would change their minds. Arturo entered the picture and Teresa preferred money.

Again Luisa scoffs at Mariano. Mariano says he is embarrassed to reveal this to Luisa, but he and Teresa made love the day before her wedding, she promised to escape with him, and Arturo knows about it.

GUIJARRO HOME
Fernando and Arturo run into each other in the foyer as Arturo is leaving for court. Arturo shares the news that Teresa asked him for a divorce and left the house. Fernando gives Arturo the “Bro Stare”, a deep look into a bro’s eyes that’s supposed to reveal if he’s telling the truth, (usually only effective after several drinks) and asks if he’s got something going on with Lucia. Arturo flatly denies it. Look, that Lucia chick is hot, he says, but Teresa is a very special piece of tail. How could he want anyone else?
For Fernando, that answer does not compute, but he is interrupted by a phone call from said piece of tail, and Arturo runs off to court. Teresa and Fernando make arrangements to talk later.

MARIANO'S OFFICE
Mariano assures Luisa he’s being straight with her. The only thing that matters to Teresa is money, and Arturo no longer has it, but Fernando does. Luisa angrily cuts him off. She doesn’t know what Mariano’s game is, but she is sure his ulterior motive is to get Teresa back. Poppycock, Mariano says, his heart belongs to Aurora. He just finally realized Teresa’s true nature. He tells Luisa to mark his words; she’s been served notice. Luisa is dismissive and warns Mariano not to come sniffing around the house for Teresa, as she gets out of Dodge.

Luisa pauses in the hallway and has a flashback to the time when she recently caught Teresa and Fernando in a tight embrace. Her expression turns to worry, as she begins to fear the possibility that Mariano’s words have a basis in truth.

ESPERANZA'S HOSPITAL ROOM
Esperanza is venting to Aurora that she’s losing her mind over her missing child. Aurora has an idea how she can help.

MARIANO'S OFFICE
Aida enters Mariano’s office like the wind has been let out of her sails. She’s actually not screeching. (Yes, you read that correctly). Aida is down in the dumps about Aurora and Mariano being “novios”. Although she held out hope that Mariano would get back with her, Aida feels she should leave the clinic project, as she gives Mariano a pile of project records.

Aida is shocked to discover Rodrigo was kidnapped. She also learns Esperanza is in the hospital due to a nervous breakdown caused by the trauma of the kidnapping. She thinks it’s absurd that anyone would suspect Ruben. She points out Ruben may have fought for the right to see the baby, but that’s a far cry from stealing a child; “What kind of human being would do that?” she asks.

DOG PARK
At the Dog Park (thank you for that one Paquita, hahaha) Fernando and Teresa greet each other with a passionate hug and kiss. He tells her Arturo was devastated by her leaving and asking for a divorce.

Fernando is now very reluctant to hurt Luisa. He admits he has not spoken to her yet. Teresa works her mojo. She snuggles her pectoral fins (boobs) against Fernando and reminds him it will hurt Luisa more if he waits until the wedding day.

In between passionate kisses and boob scraping she tells Fer that Mariano found out about them in Zacatecas and threatened to tell Arturo and Luisa. He was about to spill the beans to Arturo when he got into a fight with him at Esperanza’s house. Ter feels it’s best to get ahead of the game and come clean with them now.

GUIJARRO HOME
Luisa pensively walks in as Lucia is finishing up some work. Obviously something is wrong. Luisa discloses her conversation with Mariano: Teresa wants to take off with Fernando. Lucia’s jaw drops to the floor.

Luisa’s doubts about Fernando are percolating as she recounts the time she caught Fer and Ter hugging. Lucia says that sort of thing can be easily misconstrued – look what happened when she hugged Arturo. She suggests Luisa remain calm and discuss it with Fer when he gets home.

DOG PARK
Mighty Excalibur! Our dog Fernando has a bone (so to speak) and is ready to hump Teresa’s leg. It must be Humptoberfest time. Teresa pulls away as Fernando is cocked n’ loaded. :^) Fernando angrily yells out, “Teresa you’re just PLAYING WITH ME!! You and I WANT this! DO NOT DENY ME ANYMORE; I WANT YOU TO BE COMPLETELY MINE NOW!!!” (That’s quite a romantic gesture, Fernando. Just what every woman wants to hear.)

“Here?” Teresa coyly responds.

Teresa is saved by the bell – her cell phone rings. It’s Luisa. She doesn’t answer but takes the opportunity to coax Fernando into talking to Luisa now. She will do the same with Arturo.

ESPERANZA’s HOSPITAL ROOM
Mariano walks in and Aurora gives him the cold shoulder. She won’t even deal with him and leaves the room.

RESTAURANT
Ruben tells Aida it is Esperanza’s fault that Rodrigo was kidnapped. If Rodrigo had been with him, none of this would have happened. He claims Arturo and Teresa are both determined to incriminate him.

DOG PARK
Teresa, ever the expert at manipulation, dangles the promise of horizontal recreation if he calls off the wedding now. Fernando reluctantly agrees. It's like he's taking the apple in the Garden of Eden all over again. Chicas...sigh...

Teresa grins like a Cheshire Shark as Fernando calls Luisa and tells her they have to talk. Teresa does the same and calls Arturo.

CACERES HOME
Apparently Mayra is going somewhere because Aida says she will miss her. Mayra counsels Aida not to keep grudges. This falls on deaf ears, especially when it comes to Teresa and Esperanza.

CHAVES HOME
Refugio’s and Armando’s wedding anniversary is coming up. FF>>

PENTHOUSE
Teresa and Arturo meet to discuss their marriage. Teresa tells him “it is a fact” that they are getting a divorce. Arturo wants to know the real reason their marriage is ending.

ESPERANZA’S HOSPITAL ROOM
Mayra drops in to visit Esperanza. She offers her support; she too is a mother and knows this is a tough time. She gives Esperanza a check and says to use the money to find her son. She could give it to Ruben, but knows he would make bad use of it. Mayra asks Espe not to tell Ruben about it.

PENTHOUSE
Arturo goes on an angry rant as he accuses Teresa of being in love with another man. Teresa insists she fell in love with him. Arturo yells “No, Teresa! Mariano was right. You fell in love with what I had, what I could give you! How could I be so stupid?”

Teresa swears she fell in love with Arturo. He cuts her off and completely loses his temper. He roughly grabs her by the shoulders and SLAMS her to the couch, SCREAMING at the top of his lungs, “LIES!! THIS IS A VILE LIE!! YOU ARE THE MOST CRUEL OF ALL WOMEN!! You only PLAYED with me and had it all figured out!!”

She again insists that she fell in love with him. She felt like an idiot and was a fool to stand by as HE put her through one test after another to prove her love! She is sick of how he did not want to regain their standard of living, tired of his drinking and fed up with his ABSURD JEALOUSY!!

Arturo continues to rough her up. He yells that his jealousy was more than justified. All the times she told him that she wanted him were LIES! Teresa rebuts and says after the Europe trip, he became the most important man in her life. Arturo quips, “Oh, yeah? So at what point did you STOP loving me? WHEN I RAN OUT OF MONEY, OF COURSE!!”

Arturo slams her against a loveseat and pins her down. He shouts, “I married you believing that you loved me and we’d be together for life. I dreamed of growing old with you.” Teresa replies, “And life is not made of dreams, but realities.” Arturo angrily snaps, “Well yes, of course, in MY case, the only reality is that the man YOU’VE always loved, Mariano, FINALLY WON THE WAR!!”

She screams, “Not because of Mariano!!” and blowing his stack, he shouts, “ENOUGH TERESA, say no more; no sense trying to justify yourself!! It is very clear that I had to buy you, otherwise, you never would have been my girlfriend, much less my wife, and that is the worst thing you could have done, because I’ve never had a woman in exchange for money, well, at least not consciously, because I swallowed that story that you loved me!! I don’t want someone who will only love me in exchange for money!! Your love is WORTHLESS to me!! TAKE OFF WITH WHOEVER THE HELL YOU WANT, GO NOW!!! GO!! Beat it Teresa!! GO TO MARIANO, he’s the one you want to see!! GO TERESA!!”

Arturo throws Teresa’s purse at her and rushes her out the door, brutally slamming it behind her as he collapses into a near fetal position, his soul shattered, and in tears. On the other side of the door, Teresa is sobbing and clinging to the door.

GUIJARRO HOME
Fernando begins breaking Luisa’s heart. He tells her he cannot marry her because he doesn’t feel the same way about her. Luisa begins to stagger about. She is horrified and in disbelief.

PENTHOUSE
Back at the Penthouse, sadly, Arturo begins to drink heavily.

GUIJARRO HOME
Fernando apologetically asks Luisa to forgive him. She’s losing her composure and aghast. She can’t believe it’s true what he said – he’s not going to marry her because he doesn’t feel the same??

HI-RISE ELEVATOR LOBBY
A tearful Teresa spots Mariano waiting for an elevator. Mariano sees her tears and begins to lecture her. She quickly tells him to shut up. He says, “You and I were very happy Teresa. You didn’t know you were wasting true love, and that cannot be reversed. For your boundless ambition betrayed me, lied to me and I ended up totally disappointed in you.”

Teresa says, “I don’t follow.” Mariano tells her, “If you really fell in love with Arturo you have to fight to fix your marriage. Show that just because he has no money, you don’t want to look elsewhere, and forget about Luisa’s boyfriend.”

Teresa snaps, “Stay out of my life.”

Mariano says, “At least I have to tell you that if you’re still always looking where there is more money, nothing will ever be enough.”

Teresa rationalizes her ambition and hooking up with Fernando by saying Mariano’s mother died for lack of money and Rosita died under similar circumstances. Mariano says that isn’t true. His mother’s illness was incurable and money would not have prevented Rosita’s situation.

Teresa says, “What if life is now going to give me what I deserve, Mariano, and nothing is going to miss me.” Mariano says, “Are you sure you’ll have love?” She says she has it to spare – Mariano, Arturo, and Fernando all love her. But Mariano points out, maybe she doesn’t really love anyone.

GUIJARRO HOME
Fernando explains that he thought his wavering feelings were just a temporary confusion, but it was stronger than him. Luisa asks if he was only marrying her because of pressure from his mom. Fernando denies it. Luisa demands an explanation – when did things start to change!! Fernando says it was just out of his control, he swears he did not want to hurt her.

Luisa cries, “You’re breaking my heart!! You were the love of my life!! I believed in you!! You promised me if anything went wrong YOU WOULD TELL ME!!! She screams, “TELL ME THE TRUTH!! TELL ME!!

Fernando cowers and meekly says, “Luisa, I’m in love with another.” Luisa is stunned and heartbroken. She can barely speak but says, “Is it Teresa?

ANSWER ME!!”

Fernando says, “Yes, it is Teresa.” She says, “Then it’s true what Mariano told me – that you and HER...!!” Luisa ERUPTS WITH ANGER. She starts WILDLY swinging at Fernando, hitting him repeatedly as he falls on the couch, saying, “YOU ARE AN A$$HOLE, YOU WRETCH, YOU FOOL!! YOU MOCKED ME AND WENT AFTER THE WIFE OF YOUR BEST FRIEND, YOUR BROTHER!!!” Fernando says he didn’t mean for this to happen. Luisa shouts, “SHUT UP!! I DON’T CARE WHAT YOU MEANT!! YOU’RE A HYPOCRITE AND A DAMN BLOODY TRAITOR!!!”

Fernando tries to stop her as she storms out, but it’s no use. She’s gone.

PENTHOUSE
Arturo continues to drink heavily. He stares at his wedding picture, sadly embraces it, and breaks down in tears as he reminisces about better times in Europe.

HI-RISE ELEVATOR LOBBY
Teresa calls Fernando and they decide to meet to talk things over at Juana’s apartment.

Teresa begins to cry. She says under her breath, “Arturo, why? We could have been so happy. I sacrificed so much to be with you, and now, now that I love you so much...I have to leave you.” She fights to regain her composure and says, “Enough. I have to control my feelings; I have to be, I am.”

CHAVES HOME
Juana and Zilchberto have returned from Zacatecas. Refugio tells them about Rodrigo. FF>>

ESPERANZA’S HOSPITAL ROOM
My girl Aurora joins Hernan and Espe and turns on the television. A community service bulletin is broadcast asking the public for help finding baby Rodrigo. The baby has a gold medallion. A reward is being offered for information. They post a picture of baby Rodrigo who’s got a WTF deer-in-the-headlights look on his face.

The scene cuts to Fito sitting at a cantina watching the announcement on the bar’s TV. He jots down the contact number and remembers he has the baby’s medallion.

Hernan and Espe thank Aurora for her help in setting up the broadcast as she leaves. FF>>

JUANA'S APARTMENT
Teresa is at Juana’s place and Fernando arrives. Fernando says he feels terrible. Teresa and Fernando start to get kissy-kissy on the couch, and just as Fernando is heating up – BLAM – the door opens and Juana and GritBerto have arrived. Fernando and Teresa hastily get unstuck from each other. Teresa explains she is there because she’s getting a divorce from Arturo.

Cutberto points to the door (yes, I said Cutberto) and he tells that dirty dog Fernando to GET OUT!! (I really like that he did that, so just this once, I will not call him Zitberto, Scourgeberto, Bugberto, Cowberto, Gookberto or even Splotchberto).

MARIANO'S APT
Mariano is on the phone, apparently ordering some white roses for Aurora again.

There’s a knock on the door, and it’s Arturo, absolutely drunk as a friggin’ skunk. He mumbles some drunken banter about his wedding and says he’s there looking for Teresa.

Arturo proceeds to stagger around Mariano’s apartment shouting for Teresa.

Mariano tells Arturo to calm down; that he is looking in the wrong place for Teresa, she’s not with him. Arturo says, “Ah, no? (hiccup) Then, who? With whom, Mariano? (hiccup)”

Mariano firmly says, “With Fernando, Arturo.”

Uh-oh. It’s gonna hit the fan now. Plus, Arturo looks like he’s about to puke.

...And now you know what happened in episode 138.

Comments:
Thanks to a very early start to the day I was finally able to catch up on recaps and episodes this morning. My goodness, things have really progressed, or regressed depending on your point of view.

This is a terrific recap and your screen shots are amazing. The one of a tormented Fer with Teresa grinning in the background is classic.

Mayra giving a check to Espe...a nice gesture but just a bit weird.

Arturo's got some serious anger management and physical violence issues. I kinda don't blame Teresa for dumping him even though that's not her reason.

SharkByte, thanks for your hilarious recap. You even called __berto by his real name!

Also huge thanks to all you Teresa recappers for your continuing clever and snarky masterpieces. Even though I can't comment every day I eventually read and enjoy everyone's recaps.

Cap'n Sharkbait, I also love that Cheshire-Shark grin. It is a classic.

I wonder if Fito is going to use the medallion to demand ransom for the baby he doesn't have. Could be interesting.

Sharkbait, you are the BEST !!! I mean really, the BEST.

I keep harping about Arturo's violent behavior. It's so totally unacceptable. And Fernando wasn't too nice either when he wasn't getting what he wanted. Do some women WANT to be pushed around?

Ok, so another subject, qué the hell is going on with Teresa's eyebrows?

My dear Mr. Sharkbyte...absolutely stellar with the most wonderful fotos!

Once again, I could not bring myself to watch this capitulo, but I feel that I was there. Just excellent, Sharkbyte!

I am not lying when I tell you I literally felt the pain of these characters.

Not actually seeing Mariano, I am only guessing here, but he sounds so strong now. He sounds clear in what he knows and believes.

That foto of Teresa in the background with that smile was sickening. I'm sick of her plastic face; her plastic hair; her goofy eyebrows; her voice, etc.

It seems so very unbelievable that she could even say she loves Arturo when one sees that horrible smile on her face when Fer has his back turned.

The most difficult part to read was about dear Luisa. We all know that this is really for the best for her. In fact, this will change Luisa forever, but that will be OK. She will have come out from the shadows and a new and stronger Luisa will emerge.

I honestly don't know what I feel for Teresa, if anything, but this has to be the first TN that I have ever seen that I have found to be so upsetting on so many counts.

Sharkbyte, you said it perfectly: "Broken Hearts, Shattered Lives".

Thank you ever so much.

Susanita

Wow, SharkByte, what a great episode to have all those pics for. I didn't see it last night, so it was a real pleasure to read your pictorial rendition. Actually, I'm not even sure I could have handled watching the original again. It's been months, but did you bring it back loud and clear!

Audrey

Blue Lass, I wondered the same thing when Fito copied down the phone number. Fito is slimy but at least he enthusiastically pursues his interests. I am enjoying his character.

Susanita, sometimes I think that Teresa is a cartoon character instead of a human.

Cheshire-Shark, LOL!!! I love it.

Great recap SharkBait. I loved the pictures. I think Ter looks just like a chipmunk in the park with that smile on her face. I am also very tired of her shenanigans. She is so ruthless and incredibly selfish. She convinces herself that she loves Arturo but you can't love someone and treat them like that. She only loves herself. She deserves to be left alone and penniless but we all know that she will just pick the first sucker to come along. In a sense she is already alone, with her bears, even they aren't real.

Poor Luisa, she was such a sap, she believed all the lies
Ter told her all these years.

Arturo is a little too violent for my taste, even sober! I don't find Fer attractive at all. The best deal is definitely Mariano.

I wonder how the evil witch of a mother is going to react to this. I don't think there are enough capitulos left for a Ter/Fer wedding but that's the only way Ter will sleep with Fer so they will probably have a quickie Vegas wedding. That would be funny watching Ter in Vegas with all that
glitz.

Am I the only one that thinks they could have hired a better looking baby? It's actually hard to find an ugly baby but they managed.

Chuchi: I am LAUGHING and ROLLING on the floor at that baby comment! I thought the SAME THING! What an utterly ugly child! Well...let's say that foto didn't do him any justice, but my word. Just look at those lovely tikes that were on TdA. They were adorable. The child bears no resemblance to our lovely Espe! Even Rubigote is not half bad! LOL!

Cap'n Sylvia: Cartoon character is right! She reminds me of a character out of a "Flintstones" 'toon...you know...the ones you can see on the Boomerang channel.

So, the dreaded part of Luisa finding out is over. Maybe I can watch this tonite.

Susanita

When I saw Fito copying down the number, I figured he was going to try to collect the reward money by turning in Ruben/Geno or use the medallion to blackmail them for more money. Maybe both.

Oh I definitely see Fito trying all of the above and maybe one or two other tricks we haven't thought of. I know he will eventually meet a dreadful end but I love how he gleefully torments all the characters who deserve it.

Great work, SharkByte. "Cheshire Shark Grin", "Pectoral Fins", and the title are stellar.

Mayra giving Esperanza the check is a bit weird, but this must be an acknowledgment that Esperanza is as much Rubigote's victim as she was. He kept Espe dangling for ages, then stalked her as soon as he knew she was embarazada, and after the baby was born. They will both be well rid of him at the end.

Fito is probably about to overreach himself. I can see him calling the number and saying that he found the medallion near Genovenom's house. He probably thinks that will get Genovemon arrested and he keeps both her money and the reward Hernan is offering. Dream on, tonto; the police aren't so dumb as to not wonder what you were doing in her neighborhood.

And that is an ugly baby. Not at all like little JPito of TdA.

Tonight will be the Slap Heard All Over D.F. when Fernando tells Mama Shark of his "love" for Tiburoncita. She will not stand for this. If I were Oriana I would give Luisa a nice, fat check to cover two years with a shrink and a trip 'round the world and tie up Fernando's inheritance until he's 60. I wonder whether she could find a lawyer in Spain who would agree to this.

I hope Arturo listens to anything Mariano will try to tell him tonight.

I wonder where Arturo and Luisa are going to live now. I doubt they will want to stay in the mansion or the penthouse - which are both owned by Fernando.

Although, Arturo was so drunk he may not even remember that Mariano told him about Teresa and Fernando.

Wowsers, Sharkbyte! Stupendous recap and pics! LOLx2 at "pectoral fins" hahaha. Also the WTF deer in headlights look of Rodriguito. Poor baby - let's not pick on him, this was not his best look. He is a kidnap victim after all.

Oh, Fer and Ter, what can I say other than they deserve each other. As in GWTW, "If I weren't a lady, what wouldn't I call them!" He's a pig - he kept saying that he had given up his playboy days yet when he first saw our hoochie mama on the beach, it was all but over, remember? Can we give him credit for waiting this long, until Luisa was completely devoted to him and on the brink of marriage? nah, didn't think so. He is now a Creepasaurus! His aggressiveness at the Dog Park is IMO an ominous indication of his darker side. Teresa better be careful, he may not hold back as Arturo did.

As for Arturo manhandling her. I can't for a second approve of this behavior but I will give him credit for throwing her out before he could do more harm. Wow, and that scene at the door! You could hear him moaning! Such drama.

Teresa is definitely a nutcase. I'd like to see her end up in a nuthouse, thinking everyone around her is in love with her. haha! 20 years from now she'll be on Real Housewives of D.F. with even more plastic surgery and crazier eyebrows.

ITA with Susanita about Luisa - she will emerge from this a much stronger, confident woman. It may take awhile, but she can overcome this.

Great TN -- I love it!

I have to say this again: I am still stunned that Sebastian Rulli lost the Premio. Stunned, I tell you!

Susanita

Mayra giving Esperanza the check is a bit weird, but this must be an acknowledgment that Esperanza is as much Rubigote's victim as she was.

Excellent observation UA.

UA your commentaries are always so cool and sophisticated, and make good sense.

While you come up with smart, throught-provoking remarks, I usually come up with stuff like:

"Gee, I hope Arturo pukes all over Mariano's bedroom! That would be epic!"

Or something involving bikinis.

You are definitely needed on this blog to balance out the crap I dole out!
:^)

Thank you SharkByte for the recap. I couldn't make out some of the dialogue btw Art & Ter during their fight. Thanks for clearing it up. Not only was Teresa crying at the door, Arturo was also crying and Teresa was hearing him and I think we saw her real self there when she was devastated hearing Arturo at the door.

She is some kinda crazy! How long does she think she's going to be able to hold off Fer and give in? Finally I saw some realness in Fer telling her she's a tease and she has to give it up because they are not kids and he's tried of her games and it is now.

I am hoping when Oriana finds out about all of this she will keep Fer's inheritance away from him and leave him poorer than Arturo is right now. Maybe that will knock some sense into Teresa's head and go back to what her heart tells her. That she stays with Arturo.

I hope there is some kinda "cold water slap in the face get your act together" event for Teresa. Because she and Arturo belong together. They are each others media naranja.

This story is ending fast and I hope it's not a sad ending like in Gone With the Wind. There are so many plotlines that need wrapping up and it's running out of time. They better not leave us hanging with any of them. All better be resolved.

JAROCHA-----> after the finale, could you please post the links to the other 2 endings? I need to see all 3 endings as I'm sure others do to. And I am waiting to find out from you which ending they gave us when the time comes. The Mexico, Venezuela, or Peru. ( I think those were the 3 countries you told us about)

These last 2 weeks are going to be really hard to watch and I will not appreciate the weekends when we have to wait days for the next Cap.

Diann

Superb recap Sharkbite! Thanks a billion.

I liked Auturo mucho before realizing his fatal flaw. Even though Art is heading toward splitsville with Teresa, his inner demons (the jealousy lurking within) seems as if they will someday somehow eventually rear up in a very destructive way- and from his past actions, he seems to direct this destructive anger toward Ter. (Far from being innocent herself, but even so, like Lucia said… no woman can live with such jealousy.) All I can say is uh-oh.

Hub and I were driving past Google's Silicon Valley corporate offices yesterday…(Imagine Google: 10-12 HUGE square glass buildings-built like Coscos on steroids, with Chihuahua- sized, 3-D Google colored logo letters drivers can see a mile away. Google-colored "S" shaped bicycle stands line entrances, with matching, multihued Google "retro" bikes! ). Anyhow, an attractive young woman with dark hair was crossing in one of the Google crosswalks with a short, thin, kind of nerdy appearing fellow with thick glasses checking his phone as he walked, just ahead.

"Hmmm…That girl kind of looks kind of like Teresa," I joked, "Where's Fern?" Hub smiled and glanced at the man near her. "Dumped. I hear she's now working her way through Google..." : )

Lady Lisa de Saint Helena

Sharkbyte, wonderful, wonderful, wonderful! That was kind of you to give Cutberto his due, he did try and boot Fernando out of the apartment! Your screen caps were right on as well. Thanks for your hard work! And by the way, we love all your crap!

Susanita, that is what I thought as I watched the episode last night, how could FC have won over Rulli, it is unbelievable!

I think we are seeing the beginning of the redemption for Aida. She was softer as she came into Mariano's office, more thoughtful, less screechy. I give her kudos for finishing her duties at the clinics, given the circumstances, a lot of people would have left Mariano in the lurch.

Yes, Teresa has become a cartoon character. The worst of it all is her eye-rolling. Early on in the novela I never heard Mariano tell Teresa that he had plans to do more than be a clinic doctor caring for the poor while living in the vecindad, but I have to give him credit for calling Ter out on putting ambition (money) before relationships. Also, he called her on her memory, both her sister and Mar's mother and Espe's brother died of things that had little to so with money and healthcare.

Mayra is a victim, but Espe is a perp/victim. She knowingly slept with a married man with a family and as a heath care worker should have known to use protection. She even wore the key to their secret apartment around her neck. Espe has been nominated by the writers as a good girl and is being treated as such! Oh well, she is suffering now, poor thing!

UA, loved your cast for Dark Shadows. I didn't see Sergio Goyri. Can't you add him somewhere? He is the COOLEST villain.

Very entertaining recap, as usual. I loved the Cheshire Shark bit, too.

I like the idea of Teresa ending up in a manicomio thinking everyone's in love with her and her magic-markered-on eyebrows. She really does have a superinflated sense of her own attractiveness. Maybe in the vecindad it was easy to be the hottest thing around, surrounded by older, tired, overworked people with no money to glam themselves up. But out in the wider world, smart pretty women are a dime a dozen, and a lot of them aren't so rude and greedy.

I am REALLY looking forward to tonight's episode.

OMG!!!!!!! What a episode and loved the recap Sharkbyte. I thought Arturo was going to kill Teresa for a moment there and Luisa let Fernando have it.

Arturo is already bursting at the seams and now that he knows that Teresa and Fernando are together I think he's about to give his BFF the a$$ whooping of his life LOL.

I too loved Cutberto throwing Fernando out. He could tell everything wasn't on the up and up with that scenario.

Poor Luisa. She's better off without that loser.

It seems like the more Teresa uses herself to seduce men for their money the trashier she looks.

SharkByte, thanks for the rollicking recap of a rollercoaster capitulo.

Now that Luisa knows, I can rest easy. I'm just sorry that when she smacked Fer he landed on the couch. I wanted much more whacks. On the other hand, Art is a total mess roughing up Ter like that, although I did enjoy him tossing her out the door. Tossing out, good. Roughing up, somebody call the police. Maybe Luisa can help Art get it together. Though her heart is breaking, I think she'll go into survival rather than self-destructive mode. She’s always been protective of her big brother.

I think Rodriguito in his little hoodie and medallion is soooo cute! I have a friend who's daughter looked like that when she was a baby and now as a tween she's a real beauty.

I knew eventually Cutieberto would do something to make me proud.

Ter, look in the mirror and see what you've become. You've destroyed a brother and sister who only gave you love, trust, support, and gifts and now you're about to bang a man that you don't even want to kiss.

I agree that Sebastian Rulli should have won. He was robbed. His acting is so powerful in this novela. You could feel Arturo's pain when Teresa shattered his soul and he's barely hanging onto his sanity as it is.

I think Lucia will be the calm he needs in his life and maybe she can get him to stop drinking.

Sharkbyte-great recap, perfect screen shots as usual. I was glad you pointedly refused to abuse Cowberto's name seven times.

Chuchi: I don't think Tere will even give it up for Fer IF they get married.
ITA about the baby, I was thinking what happened to the cute baby in the incubator??? That picture they showed on that Amber alert looked like a baby mug shot.

Regarding all the remarks about Art's violent behavior, I would agree in the real world. An alcoholic and abuser-never put up with it. But, this is TN world. I think the idea the writers had is Tere sent him back to drinking and is destroying him. The blame here is on Tere. And, if Art pukes all over Mariano's apartment, that will be Tere's fault, too.

Now come on, Sandy in TN, you know those TN girls never seem to use birth control, and yet all of them are really surprised when they turn up pregnant!

As always, making my Wednesday with your funtastic recap, complete with fotos.

In meetings rest of the day (but current call is really boring, so I'm commenting with one ear to the phone - me bad). Agree with all the commentors that Teresa is one major piece of work - capturing that insidious smile of hers at the Dog Park really captures what she's all about. She wouldn't know "love" if it jumped out and bit her.

Love Mariano's cool demeanor towards her. Now just need Aurora to get the message!

And Susanita - right there with you on Sebastian. Say what you want about the character of Arturo, but how Sebastian plays him and the emotion he throws into the role, I realized I was holding my breath thru some of that scene with Teresa. Maybe we can give him an honorary Emmy. He amazes.

And are we all enjoying Fer getting the crap beat out of him - man, don't mess with Louisa when she's angry. Looks like our sweet girl is definitely Art's sister. And tonight, Mama gets some good swings in.

Fito gets more villanous all the time. His evil chuckle is pure perfection. I'd like to see him in something else someday.

I agree, Sandy, that Aida did show some self-awareness last night -- she even admitted to Mariano that she had behaved very badly at Aurora's. But how long will it last?

Diann, how common is it for TNs to leave storylines hanging? There does seem to be an awful lot to tie up, and I don't see how they're going to manage...

Teresa's eyebrows are truly ESPANTOSAS. If I saw a woman coming at me with those, I'd get out of the way fast.

Sharkbyte - FABULOUS RECAP;
FANTABULOUS pictures of an
intensely heartbreaking episode
as the directors juxtaposed
the pain of the inherently good
and kind siblings, victims of
others' greed, ruthlessness and lust. ..and there is yet more to come... As I mentioned a few weeks ago, I agree with all who believe that SR was robbed of his Premio. His acting was superb and depicted intense suffering. His interpretation was incredible.

I too have been most distracted by Teresa's eybrows and started comparing hers to the other gals.
Aida's are a similar color which goes with her hair, but not so
with Teresa; they do indeed look as if put on by a marker. The other gals look fine.

Sandy, I completely agree that Espe should have known better, but her character reminds me of many girls who can be easily duped by a smooth talking guy with whom they are convinced they are in love.
I think her portrayal is realistic; I also really like her looks.

Susanita, I got the video
of El secreto de sus ojos at my local library. Thanks for
recommending this terrific film!

Still have a few months left of Destilando Amor. Love it. The actress who plays Luisa here plays the sister of the protagonist there. It's a nice role, and again, she has a completely different look.

Don't really enjoy novelas with insane killers as in CME, TDA,
Nombre de Amor. With LVO the killer was a mafioso type, so
in my opinion justified. Much prefer the intrigues of callous people who destroy lives in a different - but largely non violent way. Come to think of it,
that doesn't make me sound like a very good person - but let's face it; these are the age old plot lines which continue to fascinate.

Thanks to all the recappers.
I do not blog often but truly appreciate your hard work. I continue to enjoy all comments each day.

Didn't know where to post this, for all you Eva Luna fans, the actor who played Julio Arismendi, died today.
Jorge Lavat.

Just wanted to say thank you - I truly enjoyed your moments in this wonderful novela.

Teresa's makeup has taken on a gaudy clownish look. Actually, it's starting to look like the Bride of Chucky IMO. Maybe it's to show how materialism can make a person appear fake and plastic.

I have to thank the recappers, too.

The action is moving so fast now that I'm having trouble following everything.

BTW: I do not think most of the clothing on this show looks as trashy as the wardrobe for Eva Luna. Some of the clothes appear a size too small, and make the girls look like 10-pound sausages squeezed into 5-pound casings, but most of the dresses aren't short, strapless, AND tight at the same time ... the true recipe for trashy.

Lo siento mucho por Jorge Lavat.

Esperanza's little brother didn't die, he just moved out of town with her mom, other brother & stepfather.

Living arrangements: Arturo bought Luisa her own apartment at the beginning of the show. Does she still own it or did she sell it when they lost the money? If they still own it, they can live there until they regroup.

I think Mayra is trying to make amends with Esperanza. She sees Espe isn't the temptress she thought her to be, but rather a victim of Rubes.

The elevator doors closing on Teresa/Mariano truly signifies the end of their relationship, IMO.

Now Teresa will have to deal with Juana & Refugio finding out about her dumping Arturo for Fernando & his money.

And I'm actually more afraid of Luisa beating down Teresa than I am of Arturo beating down Fernando. Luisa doesn't take too kindly to people hurting her brother....I think Luisa is the emotionally & mentally stronger of the two siblings. Luisa is the one who took care of Arturo when he was messed up after Paloma.

And what Teresa did to Arturo is so much worse than what Paloma did to Arturo. Luisa was ready to lay the smackdown on Paloma; her wrath will be worse with Teresa.

See, Teresa & Oriana think Luisa is this meek, timid girl afraid of her shadow, but she's not and she never was. She was ready to throw down on Paloma. Teresa can dismiss Luisa as being "weak" (as she did last night) but she might be finding out tonight that Luisa is gonna be doing some BOOM BOOM POW on her ass, and this time there will be no Fernando or even Arturo to hold Luisa back.

Sandy in TN-I meant the girls in Telenovela's never use protection and are always surprised when they are pregnant.

Daisynjay-I have always thought the recap blog should have annual awards-and definitely SR deserves one.

It does seem like too many loose ends to tie up in 14 more episodes.

Thank you, SharkByte. I try to make sense out of what happens in these crazy stories and I tell you, if my Spanish were better I'd want to write them.

You made a great point about where Art and Luisa will live from now on. I would recommend they move to Cancun for a while until Art's divorce is signed, sealed, and delivered. Followed by a good vacation for both of them when Luna Turquesa begins to pay.

Blue Lass, loose ends are very rare in Televisa novelas. All the nice single folk are matched up in the end, the evildoers are punished, mostly in a karmic way, and there is usually a gorgeous wedding. Other networks' novelas can -- and do -- have loose ends and some villains getting off lightly. That bugs me.

Luisa's apartment was sold when Art's financial problems happened, so that's gone.

Finally, I think we were a little rough on little Rodrigo. Average-looking to ugly babies can still become attractive adults. Given a choice, that's how it should be.

Pirate Babe: I wish we had a series of fotos to see Teresa's clothing and physical appearance 'transformation'. That would be most informative!! Maybe Mr. Sharkbyte could put that together for us. I, for one, would love to see it.

daisynjay and Sandy: Amigas...I truly feel for Sebastian. I'm sure he is over his disappointment, but one really has to question why he was robbed of that Premio!!

Floridia: I am SO happy that you got to see "El Secreto en sus Ojos"! Wasn't it just wonderful!!??

Nellie: Thank you for letting us know about Jorge Lavat. That truly saddens me. I loved him in "Eva Luna". Perhaps he was ill and this would explain why he was not on the 'debriefing' show that Don Francisco had with the cast. If anyone should have been there, it should have been him. I think he enjoyed his role 100%. Vaya con Dios, Senor Lavat.

Susanita

diann: I second your request to be able to see all of the endings for this TN. I really fear that this will be a sad one. Maybe the only happy ones will be Juana and her Cutberto.

Bravo Sharkbyte. Wonderful recap and fabulous pictures. The scenes with Arturo and Luisa were so good that I was annoyed when they would switch back to Teresa. Like, yeah, yeah, you love him, it's all his fault, you'll dominate your emotions, blah, blah. Now get back to people with REAL emotions who are actually interesting to watch.

Fantastic recap and pics SharkByte! You always get the big confrontational episodes and you always do them justice. Thank you!

Off to watch the fireworks!

Jarocha

Diann, sure, I'll bring the links.

Jarocha

Thanks Jarocha!!

Diann

This was the pivitol episode where both sibs are destroyed by Teresa and your recap was perfect with some much needed humor. The screenshots capture the big moments as well Now both siblings have been left at the altar. I hope Luisa recovers and never meets the male equivalent of a Teresa. Hate to see that repeated again as well.

GinCA

FABULOUS recap! I too agree that this was one of the only instances in which he deserved to be called Cutberto and not Buttberto [one of my favorites] as it calls to attention his facial characteristics!

I also look forward to your recaps because of the screen shots you include! Thx again!

thanks sharkbyte and all of this week's recappers! i haven't been able to watch this week except monday, and you have all kept me well-informed. the pix are especially nice, so that i can keep up with Ter's eye-rolling ways ;-)
