El Mundo de Telemundo, Week of October 23, 2011: Discuss Amongst Yourselves

¡Hola a todos! Bienvenidos á una semana nuevo de discusión de las novelas de Telemundo.

I'm running a little late today so I'll post this and do the recap of Corazón later. So over to you.

MI CORAZÓN INSISTE - viernes

In this episode, Andres is the hapless tool of an over-zealous lawyer and a scheming female. The police blow another chance to find Soledad.

Lola is freaked out by the order requiring that she and the baby have DNA tests. She accepts Ángel's offer to be her lawyer. Lola's dress as she prepares to meet Andres and his lawyer at Exportex is exactly what I would have chosen to wear if I were going to a meeting with a lawyer who was looking for grounds to contest my fitness as a mother.

Diana is not present at this meeting but she comes slithering up to Lola after the meeting and Lola gives her a right hook to the face. Yea!!!

Andres is uncomfortable that the lawyer supplied to him by Diana has dug up all of Lola's unsavory past including the deaths of her former husbands and her stint in prison but he doesn't do anything about it.

Camilo opines that the only thing that can bring Andres and Lola together is Chabelita and the feuding couple do have an almost tender moment when the baby is brought in.

The police identify one of the phone numbers on Débora's or Ramon's cell phone, I forget which, and it turns out to belong to an old person in a house in foreclosure. I have no idea what that means but Rodrigo appears to think that Soledad might be being held in one of the foreclosed homes in the area.

Camilo and Sofía continue their path towards happiness together.

Félix is going crazy cooped up with Vicki and Soledad. To keep them quiet, he ties them up and gags them. He seeks some diversion in a girlie bar and is spotted by the police. In spite of having the whole area sealed off, he manages to escape.

Ángel, who was driving over to help Félix, is stopped at a roadblock by the police. Rodrigo calls him Mr. Coincidence. Rodrigo and Mora decide to follow Ángel but he knows they are on his tail and simply goes to a mall and buys presents for all the residents of Lola's house.

Diana has persuaded Andres to let her move in with him to get back at Lola and Ángel. Diana manages to arrive at the house with Andres just as Lola is taking Chabelita out for a walk. Lola is upset especially when the maid reports on the huge amount of luggage that Diana brought.

Andres the dodo, thinks that this is all a show for Lola's benefit and puts Diana in the guest room. Even he realizes that he has made a mistake but not as big a mistake as he apparently makes when Diana shows up in bedroom in a lacy teddy.

FLOR SALVAJE

Another amazing scene with Rocio and Mariano. The girl playing Rocio is just beautiful, those eyes are amazing. When Rocio was surprised to see Mariano in the house, the anger was intense. You could hear her breathing faster and faster as the scene evolved, wow.

Zhara is beautiful, but she'd look better if she'd cover up that lift kit. The unnatural cleavage is hard to look at. Nice legs though ;)

Why is Rafael's main man such a stooge? This guy Rufino is a complete putz. Did you see him waving the rifle about and trying to get some shots off while they were getting ready to burn down El Cabaret? haha, too much this guy.

And why is Rafael driving an old beat up Nissan pickup?? Wouldn't this guy be in something full size and about 15 years newer?

I don't really feel bad for Alicia. She's not that smart to begin with, and she took the money. Prometida o no, she could have talked with Enrique about everything first.

Piruetas has sunk all the way to the bottom. At first he was just a clown, now he's a lowlife too.

Is it just me, or have you noticed that when El Gringo Mr. Peter talks, he's always making contorted faces??

So we see Rafael discovering that his old trusty Nissan pickup has no brakes and next thing we see is the truck falling off of a cliff some 150' to the bottom and then bursting into flames. I suppose on Monday we'll see him bailing out of the truck just before it goes off of the cliff cause nobody survives a wreck like that...unless it's Analia ;)

La Casa De Al Lado --Friday
Mucho movement....
1. Javier moves into the Conde house and leaves his children in their "casa de al lado" with Karen watching over them. (She protests tht she doesn't want the responsibility, but Javier could care less and rushes off for his tryst with Ignacia at the Conde house.) Diego who wants his mother finally resolves his situation by slitting his wrists. While Diego is bleeding to death, Javier is making out with Ignacia, until Adolfo shows up --with a gun and threatens to kill both of them. Javier begs for his life, crying, etc. Adolfo points out to Ignacia that this is the man she loves. In true Ignacia fashion, she goes up to her room and cries. Oh woe is me!!!

Gonzalo is running around and doing damage control with Rebeca (???). He tries to feed her her antibiotics and calls her "bebe." She begs him to let her out, and he has the nerve to tell her that she is better off there because of all of the problems --including Pilar's--on the "outside." She spits in his face. Later, Carola (aka Nancy Drew) follows him to the house and when he leaves tries to open the door to the basement. Gonzalo returns and intercepts her. But Rebecca (who is bound and gagged) is able to push something (I forget) that makes a noise. Gonzalo tells the unconvinced Carola that it was a rat. He also explains that he bought the house to start a new life with Pilar and kids. He certainly doesn't seem to be involved in helping the jailed Pilar, and Sebastian has tried EVERY lawyer in town who refuses to go against Javier Ruiz. He is desperate...

Javier, po'd that Adolfo has tried to kill him and has shown him as the weeping coward he is, offers to sell the Conde house to Mabel --if she delivers Adolfo to him. She is not inclined to do so, and when he taunts her for being a bad parent, she throws it right back in his face.

Nibaldo accepts Javier's job. Yolanda sticks by Eva and tries to shore her up emotionally. Hilda starts to work for Sebastian. Eva sells the family silver and offers the money to Renato so they can move forward. In a poignant scene (even though the Eva actress was not very convincing) she tells Carola how lonely she is and Carola gives her real emotional support. I think Carola is on her way to becoming a mensch, and will save Rebeca.

Pilar -- Javier visits her in prison and tells her that she is going to rot in jail because of her denouncing him for physical abuse. She makes her usual face or two and still feels she did the right thing by murdering Ricardo Merino.

That's about all I remember a day later.

LA CASA DE AL LADO:

Excellent summary, NJ Sue. I think the item Rebeca knocked over was a lamp. Lucky for Gonzalo he had just gotten mad at Rebeca and gagged her, since she wasn't gagged before. I don't think Carola will be able to save Rebeca yet. It's too early, and Rebeca knows too much. I sort of thought (and this could still happen), that Gonzalo would imprison Carola, too. And one by one, members of the Conde family would come to investigate, and one by one, they'd get imprisoned by Gonzalo in the basement. And at some point, Hilda (my choice for the heroine, since her name starts with H) would save the day. Okay, it's a stretch. :)

MI CORAZON INSISTE:

Thanks, Jean. I agree about the appropriateness of Lola's dress for a paternity conference. Very professional. :)

The cops are getting closer, though. I think they're still in the middle of canvassing foreclosed houses in the area, so they could find the right one. And Angel has been very threatening to a number of people, not just Andres and Rodrigo, but Camilo, and maybe some others. At some point, he's gonna slip up.

But in the meantime, Lola and Andres continue to be babies, despite all the good advice from their friends.

Daniel also made a few more points with Adelita, give her some chocolate, for her sweetness. She pretended to pooh pooh it, but after he left, she smiled.

LA CASA:

BTW, Diego tried to kill himself before, and the cuts were minor. But this time it really looks bad. I can't imagine him dying, though. The characters on the show are getting more and more desperate.

MI CORAZON
Anyone remember a couple of weeks ago when Sofia begged off a social engagement, saying she was feeling poorly? Well, on Friday when Sofia was having dinner with Camilo, he joked that she should pay the bill because she ate more than he did. She said "are you saying I'm putting on weight?" And he said, "well, you do look a bit more...."
That screams PREGNANT to me, but am I right in remembering that Sofia never slept with Camilo?
J in Oregon

MI CORAZON:

J in Oregon, you're right that Sofia never slept with Camilo. But she DID sleep with Rodrigo!

MI CORAZÓN INSISTE VIERNEX

Whoever said please don't send Mora to do any police work was right! He spies Félix. But, instead of waiting until the backup arrives to storm the "gentlemen's club" Félix has gone into, he goes right in and tries unsuccessfully to look inconspicuous. Thus Félix escapes.

It was funny when Andrés told Diana they'd have separate bedrooms and she thought bubbled: "Que ingenuo eres, mi amor". She didn't waste any time trying to jump his bones.

MI CORAZÓN

Whoops! Viernes, not Viernex!

FLOR SALVAJE - VIERNES

I agree, Rand, it's odd Rafa drives such an old pickup.

The only reason Rafa has selected Ana for the night is to try to get info about Flor's whereabouts. He offers her lots of money and an expensive watch, but she tells him doesn’t he realize she’d tell for that much dough. And she would. This gal never fails to disappoint. Unfortunately for her, Rafa still has the ED and blames his failure on her, going so far as to tell her she better leave the 4P as NO man will ever want to be with her. What a guy!

Alicia is rapidly getting drunk in the bar, but she still manages to twig that Mina is trying to get info about Flor. She asks her for whom.

Things seems to be going fairly well for Sacramento and Amanda. (Guess I’ll switch to Amanda again – as long as she stays away from NE.) He’s helping her learn to read from a workbook the nun gave her. He buys her a new dress. She tells him she wants to be the good woman he wants, and he tells her she always has been.

Gabriel has run away and is hiding in Dudi’s store. When he and Dudi are in the street the next day, Correcaminos and Zahra find him together. CC tells him she almost died of worry; the kid says too bad she didn’t so he’d never have to see her face again. I know this kid will come around; but it’s painful watching the way he treats CC.

Piru asks Alicia how much lower a person can sink. She’s pretty drunk, but she tells him just look in a mirror.

Zahra knows about the ED. She tells Olga she hopes he doesn’t take it out on Ana.

I meant to say and keep forgetting: I like all the music in this novela. Most of the Ps seem to have theme music. When Alicia tries to sing and dance drunk, she’s singing that very sad song that’s hers. Piru has to drag her off stage. They argue in her dressing room, and she threatens him with a broken bottle. He pretends to leave, and then lunges toward her. In my opinion, getting the bottle in the gut was his own fault.

Cat comes up with a good one. She tells Rafa: Ni piensas a buscar por Flor Salvaje porque a esta florcita otro esta regando. (Regar = irrigate, hand water).

Enrique sees the newspaper with the Ps on the front and looks sad. Tío Francisco, now that he has Enrique back in the capital to run La Verdad, is planning to move to Nueva Esperanza. He meets with Mr. Peter, who tells him the oil fields here are the richest in the continent and doubtless the town will prosper. Tío makes an offer on the hotel.

As Rand described, Rafa went off the cliff in his pickup. For sure, he's not dead; half the plot would be gone. Will he appear Monday burned and disfigured? Will he have jumped clear and show up without a scratch on him?

FLOR SALVAJE - Thanks for the recap, Novelera. I agree that Rafa isn't dead. I thought maybe he might pretend to be dead. He could have the odious Rufino hide him and then he could spy on what people are doing. On the other hand, sneaking around isn't really Rafa's style.

FLOR SALVAJE

How about if Rafa did get badly burned? He could do the rest of the novela in a Phantom of the Opera half mask and a nice black villain's cape.

Corazon

Excellent catch J! If only they would put Andres and Lola in a secluded mansion and let them stay there until the end of the TN, I would be so happy. Lola can show Andres how she stretches infants t-shirts to make her clothes, that would fit the IQ of both of them.

Ununsual for a TN, if Sofia is pregnant they have taken so long for this to unfold. Usually the girl is pregnant the next day. I guess they are going to wait until the rescue, to give it some oomph at the end.

And if Anhell dies, will he die with that smile on his face? Will Felix commit suicide just to get away from the two ladies?

MI CORAZON:

Nellie, I know what you mean about Anhell and that smile. Actually, the actor can play different parts. In Sin Senos No Hay Paraiso, he played the young, earnest boyfriend of the lead, Catalina, who was played by the actress who plays Lola! He just about never smiled. He did have an affair with Catalina's mother (played by Catherine Siachoque, who plays Ignacia on La Casa de al Lado) and got her pregnant. In El Fantasma de Elena, he played Montecristo, a super evil half brother of the main lead, and was sort of like he is here, always smiling his evil smile, although he was much rougher in that show. And in Los Herederos del Monte, he played Gaspar, who was always upset and whiny about his dead mother, and who abused his humble wife. So while he does seem to have that Eddie Haskell smile all the time in this show, I'm hoping someone wipes it off his face!

MI CORAZÓN:

Idiot me finally checked the home page for the new weekly thread.

Does anyone else here use English and/or Spanish subtitles to follow along? The ability to get subtitles for free over the air (no Fios, cable or satellite subscription) in the D.C. area has varied greatly over the past few years. I have 2 analog TVs with converters and 1 flat screen. When all local stations except Telemundo and Telefutura went digital, Telemundo's analog signal improved greatly and the flat screen picked up CC3 English. When Telemundo went digital, CC3 came in beautifully on the converters. Suddenly on Sept. 12, CC3 only showed Spanish. Service 2 briefly showed English, then switched to Spanish. Telemundo's website used to stream wonderful 15 minute weekly recaps with English subtitles, but that seems to have stopped also. :-( Just when the scheming is getting really diabolical, I'm missing all the action and nuances while hunting for words that look English or French. So I am very grateful for these witty recaps!

Like everyone else here, I'm disappointed with the inexplicable infidelity of Andres and am wondering if Diana is actually drugging him with some obedience potion. As awful as Debra was, Andres only cheated on her when he thought they were breaking up. Even though he is a spoiled hothead, he's a caring, loyal hothead. It makes no sense now that Andres is free and just proposed to Lola that her mere disapproval of vixen Diana would be enough to send him into Diana's clutches. And why didn't Adelita confirm Lola's claims about Diana? Or did I miss that? Moreover, Andres doesn't seem all that attracted to Diana. He looks more dazed, as opposed to dazzled by her. Initially, because he loves being helpful and rescuing people, he came across as flirty, and Diana has been milking that with her pouty problems. But then Jencarlos has a very expressive face, and he may just be confused by this annoying out-of-character plot twist by the writers. Rodrigo's affair with Sofia made more sense -- Sofia loved him since her teens and Soledad might never return.

Vicky's attempt to distract grumpy Felix with a seduction was really funny and she deserves an irate visit from a ghostly Ramon for that.

MI CORAZÓN INSISTE
Hi Mary- I just went from cable to FIOS and now I don't get the subtitles in English anymore. There is nothing on cc3 but cc1 still has the Spanish titles. I believe the titles depend on the local station so you might contact your local station and complain.

Subtitle woes:

Thanks, Jean! I did call several offices of my local Telemundo and even spoke to one technician who admitted tweaking their transmission the weekend before English captioning disappeared. I'm not getting English on Univision either, but they might not provide it on most shows anyway. Telefutura has too weak a signal to bother with. I googled the lightning fast and unreadable Service 2 English and learned other viewers have encountered this and believe it is caused by encryption errors by the captioning company. I also left a message for the captioning company listed at the end of Mi Corazon Insiste. Watching non-English programming takes great concentration and is a guilty pleasure while the dust bunnies in my place multiply like, well, bunny rabbits. Perhaps the disappearing English is a plot by the local pay TV services to make me become a subscriber, but with the digital changeover, I now get more than 40 free stations in the DC-Baltimore area.

Corazon
Hombre
Thank you very much for rundown on actor who plays Anhell, did not know much about him, so nice to know.

I thought Monday's episode was by far a better one than I have seen lately, except of course for the last 5 minutes with the convenience of a "shush" talk with a door left ajar. But it was better than what I've been viewing, and for once Lola's bib, matched the event.

MI CORAZÓN INSISTE: lunes
I did a recap of this episode but I didn't manage to post it before I went to a meeting in Newark. I will post it when I get back this afternoon eastern time.

LA CASA DE AL ALDO

NJ Sue, tnx for the recap

Hombre, I don't think Hilda is going to be the prot. she never showed any interest in such problems.

Carola almost discovered the truth (and told it to Gonzaki! but not anyone else). let's see what will be Gonzaki's solution. maybe somehow he will convinced her. THE FAKE INAKI IS COMEBACK! LOL

MI CORAZON INSISTE and general:

Mary, I'm so jealous of you, that you can get all those channels over the air. I live in Baltimore, and can only get about 10, all local, none in Spanish. If you go to cable or FIOS, don't expect the subtitle situation to be much better, especially if you use an HDMI cable with your flat screen. HDMI doesn't carry captions, so they only work if the local station "adds" them to the box. The end result for me, with my big TV, is I really don't get any captions without going to the service menu, which is a big pain. Fortunately for me, I don't need them anymore. After 4 years of studying Spanish, I can understand just about everything.

BTW, when I was using analog, Univision only had spanish titles, while Telemundo had spanish and english ones.

There's absolutely no way to get Telemundo in HD in Baltimore. But when I visited my daughter in NY, they had it. And of course, Washington DC has those over the air stations. Guess I'll just have to move!

LA casa de al lado-Monday

I still can't believe or understand why Gonzaki doesn't kill Rebeca. Does anyone have any idea? And how stupid is Carola that she spills her "hipotesis" to Gonzalo? If you think someone is a murderer or whatever, wouldn't you keep that to yourself?

Javier seems to be really guilty --if not deeply concerned-- about Diego's attempted suicide, and decides that Pilar should be sprung so that she can take care of that mess. In his usual sadistic manner, he doesn't tell her what happened to Diego. So she is hysterical (wht else is new?), but doesn't know what to think. In the meantime, theidotic
"ployglot" Karen is still left with the responsibility.

On the other parent front, Mabel decides to hand Adolfo over in return for the house. We now learn that her motivation is to give Renato back his house. (with her by his side?)

It looks like the new "good" guys are Carola, Sebastian, and Omar. Since Hilda is working for Sebastian, I think she'll become part of their team --and maybe Emilio will too.

I felt sorry for Renato. When he went to speak to Gonzalo and asked for proof about Rebeca's robbing his money and disappearing, Gonzalo nicely sidesteps --even when Renato accuses him of being an accomplice. Then Ignacia comes and asks Gonzalo for a divorce. When her father points out that Gonzalo signed an agreement, ignacia --not very respectfully-- points out that he is ruined and has nothing. After she leaves, Gonzalo asks Renato to leave in a not very respectful way. Without money, the elderly Renato is treated without respect. I really felt sorry for him.

Adolfo knows Mabel is delivering him to Javier, who has his gun ready. And in the coming attractions, Gonzalo looks like he is totally freaking out.

Is anyone watching??????

LA CASA:

NJ Sue, I'm watching, just not on Mondays (football), so thanks for the recap. I'll probably have more to write tomorrow.

LA CASA DE AL LADO

nj, Gonzaki seems to have some feelings for Rebeca: 1)being Pilar's sister, 2)being Gonzalo's the only friend who helped him in many ways.
Pilar, Rebeca and Mabel are the 3 persons that Gonzaki has feelings for them + Diego and maybe Renato to some extent (not sure about the last one).

LA CASA - LUNES

Thanks, NJ Sue. Excellent recap!

Carola's actions are just inexplicable. She brings Omar along when she follows Gonzaki to his Body Stash Squat, where she really doesn't say anything specific. Then she goes alone to tell him he's Iñáki Mora!

Another odd thing is Mabel wanting to give Renato back his house. This woman has zero feelings for her children, but she's using a boatload of her own money to give back his house to a man who was her lover, what, 35 years ago?

I'm glad Pilar will be getting out. But she'll probably still be believing everything Gonzaki says until the bitter end.

Pilar did a great thing getting Hilda that job. She seems to be coming out of her depression. By the way, where is Hilda living? She didn't move in with the Condes, I don't think.

MI CORAZÓN INSISTE LUNES

Just as I suspected, the heroine never willingly goes to bed with another guy. So Lola chickened out at the last moment. At least Andrés knows she chickened out.

I enjoyed the scene in Daniel's bedroom. These two are very believable as brothers. Unfortunately, the witch overheard. I have no idea what she's going to do to keep from being asked to leave. They've still managed to make her behavior ambiguous. It's not clear to me if she's following orders from Ángel or really just that stalkerish crazy about Andrés.

LA CASA DE AL LADO

Oye, NJ Sue, -- and Hombre and Alex -- I'm still watching! And NJsue,I really appreciate your recaps. It's just that I don't feel inspired to write about the show right now. The plot contrivances are getting sillier with each episode.

I wouldn't be surprised if they brought in a new femme fatale to shake things up, some plastic wondergirl from the Telemundo players (bets on Aylin Mujica, anyone?)

The character of Mabel is presented so inconsistently that her behavior often makes little dramatic sense. That said, I confess I enjoyed hearing her stick it to Javier on Friday when she called him out on playing at being Renato although he'd never measure up to him (no le llega ni al tobillo de Renato). She asks him if he's planning to grow a moustache and buy a pair of glasses, too. Javier may live in the house and pretend that the office is his own, but the distinct 'huella' of Renato persists.

I have no idea how the writers are going to get themselves out of the Gonzaki-Carola-Rebeca mess without a lot of bad, bad stuff happening. Ah well, we'll see.

FLOR SALVAJE - LUNES

Tío Francisco seals the deal to buy the hotel in NE.

Zahra to the rescue! She manages to get Alicia to slow down the pity party and put away the bottle. Alicia tells her she was happy with Enrique until Tío Buttinsky showed up. Zahra gets a pensive look at finding out he ruined Alicia's great love.

Enrique's mother is pushing for an early wedding and presents Enrique with his grandmother's engagement ring to give to his fiancé.

Rocío has challenged Mariano to a public debate, and the notice appears in the papers. Mariano is furious; he doesn't like public speaking. [And he wants to be mayor?] Rocío tries to enlist Ana, who is predictably not interested in anything except Ana.

Lourdes tells Mariano she'll coach him, but he can't refuse to debate.

Zahra tells Olga she's fed up with men. ¡Deberían agarrarlos a todos y meterlos en un cohete y mandarlos directo a la luna! (They should all be put in a rocket and sent to the moon.)

Rafa walks away from the truck crash and manages to also walk to the petrolero to try to choke Cat. The board members sit there with their thumbs you know where letting him do it. Eventually he passes out.

Tío comes to tell Zahra he's staying and puts a move on her. This guy has it bad! She very coldly tells him he's come at the wrong time; these are not her work hours. He has been told he's just another john! I love it!

Amanda calls the bar and Ana answers. Unfortunately La Mina is lurking right there. I used to like her, but not any more. Ana finds out where Amanda, Sacramento, and her sisters are living but doesn't give anything away to Mina.

A guy at Sacto's workplace wants him to price a night with Amanda. He fights the guy and is fired.

Ana tells Zahra and Olga that she heard from Amanda, and she also tells her that La Mina was veeerrry curious. Zahra figures out in a heartbeat that La Mina is working for Rafael.

Cat calls Mariano, scared about what Rafa did. Lourdes is furious. This actor is very good in her role. After Mariano tells Cat there could be a forensic examination of what happened to the car, Cat admits she had the brakes tampered with. Mariano says he'll help her, but I suspect there will be a price.

I think CC needs to tell her son that he either lives with her or goes to an orphanage. He seems to be under the mistaken impression that he has a choice.

Piruetas is back on the air and does a suck-up announcement of "poor" Rafa's accident. Amanda overhears and shows up at his hospital knife in hand. He's unconscious.

MI CORAZÓN INSISTE lunes

Rodrigo tells Lola that she and Andres should stop behaving like children. Maybe if Lola weren't wearing those stretched out baby tshirts and didn't have to spend all her time moving carefully so she doesn't display her private parts, she might think more clearly - but then Hombre would be sad. Naturally, Lola rejects Rodrigo's advice and throws his affair with Sofía back at him.

Vicky overhears Félix complaining to Ángel that not only is he going crazy with the 'dos viejas,' he needs a woman big times. Ángel tells him that relief is on the way.

Vicki meanwhile hatches a plan. She will seduce Félix and when he is fully involved as it were, Soledad can phone the police. Her plan works, too except that the relief goon squad catches Soledad making the call.

Rodrigo's boss tells him that he is wasting money on following Ángel everywhere since Ángel appears to be a model citizen. Rodrigo begs for 3 days more.

Diana tries to put a big order for computer equipment through without the approval of the technology guy. Diana accuses the computer guy of being incompetent
for not wanting to update their systems. Andres tells her that the computer guy has recommended the same upgrade but large purchases such as that can't be made in their current financial situation.

Angel confesses his love for Lola. She asks for time. She want to find someone else but it is hard when she has loved one person all her life.

When Lola goes home and sees Andres arrive at his house with Diana, she decides to do something stupid. She calls Ángel and invites herself over to his place. Andres watches her leave and figures out that she is going to make a big mistake and since he is an expert in making those kind of mistakes, he follows her.

As was noted in the earlier comment, the 'good' woman in an novela cannot betray her true love so she doesn't go though with having sex with Andres. Fortunately, I guess, at least if you aren't interested in more screaming fights, Andres realizes that Lola hasn't had sex with Ángel.

Andres goes home only to be interrogated by DIana about where he has been. Then she is astonished when he protests extreme fatigue to keep her out of his bed.

Andres wakes up Daniel to share his troubles. What - no beer? Unfortunately, Andres doesn't close the door of Daniel's room all the way so Diana overhears their conversation. Andres tells Daniel that bringing Diana to his house was a big mistake. He knows that Lola hasn't betrayed him and is determined to get her back but Diana's presence is a big problem. He decides that she has to leave.

Rodrigo decides to wait until the next to try and find Soledad.

LA CASA DE AL LADO

wow! NovelaMaven is here! welcome back :-)

"This woman has zero feelings for her children, but she's using a boatload of her own money to give back his house to a man who was her lover, what, 35 years ago?"
having zero feelings for her children, could be exactly because of her feelings for Renato. she didn't like Igor and had been depressed about her life. Igor's jailing shock made her depression so bad that she left her children. as a matter of fact, only a sick, deeply depressed mother may leave her children that way. it's not the matter of being bad or good, it's a mental problem.

CHISME

I know we're not supposed to do it, but I can't resist. My Spanish class buddy gave me a copy of TV y Novelas. There was a small piece in there saying that Kate del Castillo and Iván Sanchez (El Gallego) are an item. I'm not surprised. Those two were incredibly hot together in La Reina del Sur.

Chisme

Cool! Incredibly hot they were indeed.

LA CASA:

Didn't Gonzalo say at the end of the conversation with Carola "Your brother is Inaki Mora"?, meaning Emilio. Yes, this is hogwash, but it provides some doubt, so Gonzalo can let Carola go, at least for now. But as for Rebeca, she's going to have to remain prisoner for a while, I believe.

We now have Ismael/Adolfo locked in a car with Mabel (I didn't know the driver could control the front seat locks, not in my car), and Javier walks up with a gun. I don't think for a minute that Javier will kill Adolfo, though. Usually, in these situations in this show, something (or everything) goes not according to plan.

As for where Hilda is living, I thought for a bit she was living in Gonzalo's apartment, when Diego, Pilar and Andrea were there. But since they went home, I think the writers forgot Hilda has to sleep somewhere. I like her secretary dress, though.

MI Corazon:

Too bad Soledad didn't blurt out Angel's name, in the few seconds she had. I liked Vicki in lingerie. I think if I were Felix, I'd have let Soledad go, and let Vicki seduce me :)

LA Casa

"Your brother is Inaki Mora"?, meaning Himself. He thinks he is their brother. Also, enjoyed cast on Christina. The kissing scene with Javier y Ignicia on Friday was the funniest. She obviously got a rise out of him by surprise. Good thing the actors are married.

Mi Corazon
Jean, thanks for the recap. I agree there was way too much annoying screaming last week. It was incredibly frustrating watching Soledad waste her time on the phone..."Mi Amor, is that you? Is that really you? I can't believe I'm talking to you. Yes, it's really me..."
Sheesh, get on with it! She could have told him at least the first names of the men who were holding her prisoner.
Meanwhile, Kati Barbieri (Vicky) was a scream as the vamp trying to seduce Felix!

MI CORAZON INSISTE and general:

Well howdy, neighbor Hombre! I was born in Charm City and now live in Greenbelt, MD, which sometimes picks up Baltimore stations clearer than DC stations. Don't be too jealous of me -- some of my channels are just for weather, kiddy cartoons, and ancient sit-coms! There are some guilty pleasure treasures among all the sub-stations though, like MHZ Bollywood shows, figure skating, and decent movies. I experimented with ever more expensive hybrid antennas and now get good results from a folding 3-panel $40 one from Target.

"Sin Senos" made me a big fan of Carmen Villalobos and I read somewhere that NBC was considering an English language version. I keep hoping that will happen and that they'll add a better ending. I really
hated the ending, then read an intriguing comment by someone who lives in that Columbian town and knows the real Cata's family. The real Cata turned out somewhat better -- she was still alive but living with another drug lord and she got revenge on Marciel and pregnant Yessica by sending them to jail. "Mi Corazon" would also make a great crossover series.

I'm confused about Soledad's call because it looks like she called dead Ramon's number, not Rodrigo's.

Why didn't Andres save himself some jealousy by warning Lola that he rescued Diana from "nice guy" Angel? Of course, he didn't warn Rodrigo about the car bomb either.

Since I don't know Spanish I won't attempt to describe Tuesday's episode of "Mi Corazon", but Diana is really creeping me out -- she's now stalking Sofia by making an appointment for her "little brother" whom Adelita and Sofia presumed to be her son! Now I'm wondering if she's Angel's estranged wife which would explain their office tiff. She could also be a secret daughter of Marcelo or even be representing someone we thought had died but didn't.

MI CORAZON INSISTE martes

Man, the bad guys had it all their way yesterday due to the incredible stupidity and ineptitude of the good guys.

Andres continues his discussion with Daniel and they decide that Andres will ask Diana to leave the house the next morning. Of course, Diana is listening to this conversation thanks to the door that is ajar. Diana scurries back to her room and calls whomever she is communication with about this and tells him that they have a big problem.

The next morning she has her bags packed when Andres comes downstairs. While Daniel shakes his head in disbelief, she says that she will leave in such a way that our befuddled hero begs her to stay for another two weeks.

Angel reams out a new one for Felix for incompetence. He says that they will have to find a new place for Soledad and Vicki. Soledad, meanwhile writes a note to Lola id'ing Angel as the bad guy. She doesn't do a very good job of hiding it, though, just letting it drop behind a piece of furniture.

The police are all over the neighbhorhood where Rodrigo believes that Soledad is being held. The bad guys take notice and bundle the women out in a van. Soledad manages to kick the door open and Mora sees her. He gives chase.

There is a commercial and the next thing we know, Soledad and Vicki are in some warehouse and Mora is back with Rodrigo searching for the house where they were held. How could the van have escaped with the police right behind? Why didn't they call for backup? Did they get the license number? Nobody seems to be that upset that they have lost Soledad yet again due to incompetence.

Angel goes to the house where Soledad and Vicky were held to wipe his fingerprints off of stuff. He finds the note Soledad wrote, of course.

Adela's chocolate eating may not only be because Daniel gave her the candy. While walking on the street, she is assailed by hunger for tacos and wonders if she might be pregnant. Yah think??

Camilo brings the documents for Lola to set up her foundation with Tiberio's money. She is about to sign them when Angel comes in and sees his chance of getting Tiberio's money going out the window. He bamboozles Lola into letting him 'review' the papers for a few days. He's a lawyer, too, he points out with his toothy smile while Camilo fumes. Camilo is sure racking up the 'I told you so's.'

Diana asks Andres for permission to take time off for some personal business related to her upcoming move. However, she shows up in the hospital with a little kid whom she calls her 'hermanito,' her little brother. Diana is bringing the kid to see Sofia because he doesn't talk except to her. So where has this kid been all this time? He hasn't been in Diana's hotel room, that's for sure. And who is this kid?

Unluckily for Diana, Adela is wrapping up her treatment with Sofia when Diana arrives. Adela tells Diana that Sofia is Andres' aunt, which she apparently didn't know.

In the closing the barn door after the horse has left department, the police find the house where Sofia and Vicki were held. They are going to search it for evidence. Will they find evidence that Angel was there? -probably not.

I think that was about it.

MI CORAZON - Martes

Thanks for a great recap, Jean, and Mary, you had excellent comments. Diana sure is a mystery. Maybe Marco (the little boy) will tell Sofia something about Diana. Then of course, Sofia won't be able to tell Andres, due to "professional ethics".

Yes, the police are really bad in two key areas. 1) They always give away their raids with a huge assemblage of cars, all with lights blazing and sirens blaring, giving the bad guys too much warning. 2) They can't seem to follow anybody. They've lost Felix, Ramon, Debora, even Vicki, when they were right behind them. Mora is the worst cop ever, although he's nice. Fulgencio had some brains, but look where it got him.

Now the cops say they found all sorts of hairs, saliva, etc. in the bathroom, and DNA could help them identify the bad guys. I'm going to guess that this will actually work. Even though they can't follow a car, their high tech equipment will identify Felix, Soledad and Vicky, but probably not Angel.

Mary, I don't think Soledad called Ramon's number, he called WITH Ramon's phone, which had his number. Debora had also used that same phone.

MI CORAZON INSISTE -
I forgot the part where Rodrigo when into the house and determined that Soledad had been there by her scent. So I am sure you are right, Hombre, that the police will identify the people they already knew were in the house and no one else.

LA CASA DE AL LADO - Martes

Okay, Javier is standing outside the car in which Mabel has locked Adolfmael. Javy has a gun. But Mabel has second thoughts about betraying her son, and drives away, leaving Javier cursing her. So much for returning the house. This sort of surprises Adolfo, who, in a little boy voice says "I was always your favorite, wasn't I?" He also is pretty sure Mabel has a thing for Renato.

Gonzalo has told Carola that Inaki Mora is "your brother". Turns out this is quick thinking, as he means the fake Inaki which Mabel hired, and introduced to Renato to protect Gonzaki. This new "revelation" knocks Carola for a loop, and she later confronts her Dad, along with Ignacia, and Renato "confirms" his son is Inaki Mora. So much for Carola's hypothesis. They want to meet the guy. Gonzalo says (to Mabel) no way, but Mabel the troublemaker tells the fake Inaki to go to the dinner party.

Pilar is out of jail, thanks to Gonzalo's filing a motion for bail, and Javier's not challenging it, he having been upset about Diego's suicide attempt, and realizing that Diego may need his mother. Pilar's out on bail, but I bet they forget all about any charges or trial.

Gonzalo is haunted by Igor Mora's ghost, saying, "What are you going to tell Pilar? What will she say when she finds out her lover is a murderer?" He almost loses it, goes down to the basement, points the gun at Rebeca, saying "it's over", then points it at his own mouth, but doesn't end up pulling the trigger. Rebeca, who probably hasn't been able to go to the bathroom for a week (hair and makeup still look good, though), can only open her eyes wide with fear (she's still gagged).

Since Gonzalo had to come up with some reason for the house, he had told Carola he bought it for Pilar. Carola, never one to keep secrets, runs into Pilar, and asks her about her new house. Of course, Gonzo never told Pilar, so he now has to take her there. He wants to take just a quick look and leave (it's really dusty, my love, let's come back later), but she wants to know. What's behind that mysterious door (to the basement). WE know!

LA CASA

Alex ... awwww! :)

Hombre, great job. And what a night for our crazies. We have Gonzaki pointing his gun at the quivering but -- as you point out -- perfectly made-up Rebeca; then he turns the gun on himself in an attempt to silence the voices in his head. I'm a monster! he wails. Cut to commercial. And the scene is ... gone!!! Way to resolve a dramatic crisis!

I guess it's better to imagine Rebeca with no bodily functions than to have to deal with -- well, the alternative.

Seeing Ismael disappearing into the desolate darkness of the streets, I almost felt for him. Or not.

So Emilio doesn't have two dimes to rub together but he still has a fancy tablet for a Dish Latino plug. Nice.

MI CORAZÓN INSISTE - MARTES

Wow, Jean, that was a great recap indeed! And the rest of you are bringing the A game as well.

I also could not believe Mora lost the black van after Sole was clearly seen inside it.

Boy, Diana played Andrés like a fat trout. Got two more weeks to wreak havoc and display fancy teddies.

I don't think Diana had any idea that Sofía was Andrés' auntie. She said she got a recommendation from someone. Whatever's up with this kid, I don't think she wants Andrés to know about it.

The writers can't write a smart cop for beans, but they sure can write a smart a**. Camilo had great lines last night, both spoken to Andrés. When he tells Andrés that he shouldn't be so sure Lola won't be in Ángel's bed: Lola está rifando un par de cuernos y déjame decirte que tú le compraste todos los boletos. (Lola is raffling off some horns and you bought all the tickets.) And the second great line was when he described what happened when he tried to get Lola to sign the documents he'd prepared. hasta que él entró con sus alitas de murciélago. (Meaning all was fine until Ángel flew in on his little bat wings.) He does kind of look like a bat, always dressed in black.

FLOR SALVAJE - MARTES

Amanda wasn't planning to stab Rafa with that knife they showed the night before. Instead she cut the line that delivers painkillers to him intravenously. Right away he starts to squirm. She tells him he doesn't deserve calmantes. She wants him to suffer as much as Pablo did. She pushes on him to make the pain worse, and he wakes up. Even though her face is a mask of hatred, he says that she has returned to him. The guy is delusional. He grabs her and kisses her, hard. She tells him that, if he wants her that much, he's going to suffer because he'll never have her. I think she made a mistake showing up there. It just fed his obsession. Of course, this is a reveal to us that he doesn't plan to kill her when and if Rufino finds her.

Poor Enrique has been completely trapped and bamboozled. His social climbing mother gives him granny's ring to give to Diana, the daughter of the bank president. When he meets her in the restaurant she has styles of wedding invitations all ready to show him. She also grabs the ring out of his hand before he has a chance to even open the box. And the snooty mother is crouched nearby with photographers to capture the society page photo. And to top it off, the novia insists on setting the date herself. One month!

Ana is an idiot. She thinks they should go see Rafael in the hospital. Rocío reminds her of what he did to her sister. This doesn't faze her a bit.

Gabriel has locked himself in the bathroom and has to be lured out by Dudi. He tells Dudi he knows what his mother does and this is why his aunts and uncles wouldn't take him after the abuela died. Again, someone needs to tell the kid it's CC or an orphanage.

When Amanda returns from the "bedside visit", Sacto, having been fired, is sitting there. He asks her where she was in a suspicious tone. She tells him that she thought he wouldn't mind her going out since she wore the dress he bought (as opposed to the short shorts and open necked halter). After she chews him out for his attitude and for losing a job because they talked about her, he replies that it's his way of loving. He says he never had anything that was his. And now he has her, his wife, his life. This does not bode well, in my opinion.

Zahra, having learned the barrio in Timotes where Amanda and Sacto are living, takes a bus there from the hospital. Rufino follows her, but fortunately she sees his reflection when she powders her nose. She gets away from him and visits Amanda and Sacto. Zahra avoids Amanda's questions about Ana for the most part. When Amanda opines that he might forget her if he got another "slave", Zahra lies to her about Rafa, telling her he's with everyone and no one in particular. She doesn't seem to want her to know he's impotent now with other women.

Mariano taunts Rafa on the hospital gurney and suggests to José María that it might be a public service to let him die on the operating table. Our noble doctor won't hear of it, of course. But Rafa is taking no chances, he tells JM that if he should die during surgery, Rufino has instructions to put a bullet in JM's head.

LA CASA - MARTES

Wonder where Rebeca buys that long-lasting mascara? It's survived days in the cellar, a gunshot wound, lots of sweating from a high fever caused by an infected wound, tears, etc. Maybe Gonzaki touches it up during his visits and we just haven't seen him do it.

I'll be very interested to see what the Bio-Mom of Carola (forgot her name) has to say to Eva this evening. Perhaps it will resolve her ambiguous character. Up to this point we don't know for sure if she's after some Conde money, meaning she thinks there is some. Or whether she really cares about Carola.

I don't know how this will work out, but Sebastian appears to have a bulls-eye painted on his chest. He keeps sticking that chest out and confronting first Javier and then Gonzaki, alternatively, saying that HE'LL be the one taking care of Pilar.

LA CASA DE AL LADO

"...I'm a monster! he wails. Cut to commercial. And the scene is ... gone!!! "

the dinner party with the fake Inaki and the real one must be interesting tonight. though I don't know why Renato invited Gonzaki - that is not his son in law anymore.

FLOR SALVAJE

I haven't finished Tuesdays show yet let alone todays but I had to comment...

So Rafael survives the 150' off the cliff crash? Then walks away and somehow makes it to the meeting back at the shop? hahaha. Then when he's choking Catalina, Mr. Peter who's about 2' taller than Rafa says "stop it man" but doesn't do anything? Why wouldn't he put one of those size 20 boots in Rafas backside to break the choke?

Oh wait, isn't this the same Rafa that went through town with his six shooter peeling off rounds at Sacramento in front of all the townsfolk?? lol.

This guy really is too much. Ties Zhara up at the stake and sets fire to the club and walks around covering his six shooter full time like he's about to "draw" on somebody! lol.

This one's getting a bit hard to watch lately....

LA CASA DE AL LADO -- miércoles

Once more Gonzaki thinks fast. What better way to move Pilar away from that damned cellar door, out of the house and into the car than to tell her yes ... yes ... yes. He’s no Molly Bloom but yes, he says, yes he wants to marry her. How does he explain his decompensation before her very eyes, the eyes of a mental health professional? He’s not what she thinks ... he’s afraid ... he’s weak... Ah! How Pilar has longed to hear a man say those words after Javier the Jorrible’s reign of terror. She melts.

The black clouds gather over Omar’s head:
First -- Emilio is enraged by Omar’s sweetly flirtacious manner with Hilda at Sebastián’s office. Something bad is likely to happen to Omar and Emilio is likely to get blamed.
Then -- even though Carola tells Omar she’s no longer worried about Gonzo, the big O declares his readiness to follow through on his own. Uh oh, O.

Javier is terrified of the Casa Conde – hell, who wouldn’t be? The viewer knows that Ismael has snuck back in and is waiting to strike.

Javi entices Ignacia back to his bed, then dreams she has jumped out of the window to her death. He goes out to her taller and screws up his courage to unveil the painting on her easel: It’s Gonzo! Damn the bitch! And then Ismael shows himself – this night has really soured ...

Meanwhile --
Pilar asks Sebastián to shrink Diego. (No boundaries. These people have no boundaries.)

Nibaldo fails to impress Yolanda with his new Hummer but Karen thinks it – and Nibaldo – are incredibly sexy.

Carmen’s visit to the new Conde digs leaves Eva feeling jealous and aggrieved. So what else is new?

The Conde kids come at fake Iñaki so aggressively that Renato rescues the guy and sends him away. But now Eva and Emilio also know the truth -- Iñaki is Renato’s only biological child, fruit of a brief affair with Mabel. Eva demands DNA proof that fake Iñaki is Renato’s – they can’t trust Mabel’s word.

Oh Omar...
While Gonzo has been an uneasy witness to the Condes’ verbal assault on fake Iñaki, Omar has stolen into the killing house. He sees a light under the cellar door and then hears strange noises. He pries the door off its hinges, looks down the stairs and sees Rebeca, bound, gagged, unable to walk, but immaculate and perfectly made-up. He takes her in his manly arms, and carries her up the stairs.

When Gonzo gets free of the Conde convo, he rushes to the killing house, sees someone has broken in and then is horrified to find that Rebeca is gone. Meanwhile, Omar takes the opportunity to hide himself and Rebeca in the back seat of Gonzo’s car.

Gonzo gets back in his car and drives like ... well ... a madman. Then Omar pops up and tries to overpower him. Gosh. I wonder who will emerge the victor in this struggle. I guess we’ll have to wait until Friday to find out!

LA CASA: Lunes-Miercoles

Oye, NJ Sue. I’m watching right along with you faithful few. :-) As mentioned, the melodrama can be a lil’ uninspiring at times—and I’ve been a tad busy…

I too think that Rebecca may have been Gonzaki’s close pal--a BFF co-worker kind of thing; his concern for her may be the “sister-of-Pilar” thing too. Wasn’t it interesting, Tuesday, to hear Javier tell Ignacia why he would never marry her? I missed the first few episodes of this novela, so I kept asking (aloud) why Javi and Pilar don’t just divorce. Qué prick…

I thought for sure Carola was a goner. That may still be possible, but now I’m on the edge of my seat for Omar and Rebecca.

It looks like las etapas culminantes/los capítulos finales won’t be for well into November. That’s unfortunate because I re-enlisted, and will be leaving for training in a few days. No access to a tv or my laptop through the holidays! I’m so hooked on La Casa, I don’t know if I want to continue reading recaps (on my phone, hopefully) or wait until I return home next year to watch the videos on Telemundo’s website (I like surprises and am not fond of spoilers). Decisions, decisions…

Sin embargo, I enjoy reading everyone’s recaps each week. I’m sure I’ll watch the videos first, then catch up on reading here when I’m home for Christmas and after the New Year.

LA CASA DE AL LADO

what an exciting episode! should we say goodbye to Omar? if not then it means we'll have a shift in the story entering a new phase.

Ignacia is painting Gonzaki's portrait?? surprising! (but what an awful painting! it was too difficult to guess who it is - but not as difficult as guessing what is in Ignacia's mind!)

a DNA test, and Ismael in Javier's house... too much to waiting for the next episode.

LA CASA DE AL LADO:

Super summary, NovelaMaven! I thought you were taking time off from this :) It certainly was another wild show.

I agree, things look bad for Omar. Earlier, Omar asked Carola, "what is it you like about me?" Her reply? "Just that you exist." Maybe not for long. Isn't it also too bad Omar's finances were so low he had to give up his cell phone? Oh well. And I agree, Emilio will be blamed. Rebeca probably will be imprisoned again. The only other possibility, if Omar and Rebeca do escape, is that Gonzalo would go on the lam, like Adolfo. But I think it's too early for that.

I was surprised Ignacia drew Gonzalo's picture. I was actually expecting Adolfo. But it's funny that nobody wants Ignacia, not Gonzalo, Adolfo or Javier (except for sex), whereas EVERYBODY wants Pilar (Gonzalo, Sebastian and the late Ricardo Merino).

Yes, Pilar is a pretty bad therapist, not recognizing psychotic symptoms in Gonzalo's behavior (I agree with all your criticisms, NM). She even let him drive when he was clearly unstable. Don't they usually offer someone a "calmante" in these situations?

Carola was funny, acting as if she was asking fake Inaki stuff, when she was really TELLING him things, like "How come your brother Adolfo killed people, even your other brother Ivan?" and "Do you want me to list all the things your family has done?" They didn't let him get a word in, other than "I don't really want to talk about it." Still, Carola doesn't trust him.

The DNA test can be faked, with Gonzaki supplying his own.

Yes, we've got a long way to go.

MI CORAZON INSISTE

We got some plot progress last night.

Lola and Andres had a non-screaming conversation that clarified their positions.

Andres tells Lola that Diana means nothing to him. She is just staying in his house until she can find an apartment.

Lola replies that she doesn't care about the that. She still loves Andres but they can't be together because he wasn't loyal to her. He slept with another woman and threatened to take away her most precious posession - her daughter. Andres acknowledges that he made mistakes and says that he is very, very sorry. Lola replies that just isn't enough. You can't betray your true love and then expect everything to be ok with an apology. Andres doesn't have a response to that. Way to go Lola but of course, we know that they will get back together eventually.

Andres runs off to whine and complain to Rodrigo about Lola and Angel. Rodrigo tells him that he doesn't have any proof against Angel and if he tries to warn Lola about Angel, she will assume that Rodrigo is acting on behalf of Andres.

In spite of saying that it would be counter productive to warn Lola against Angel, Rodrigo does it anyway and Lola reacts just as Rodrigo predicts.

Felix and his goons get set up in their new hideout, which I think is the back of an empty store. Angel comes to inspect and give them clean cell phones. Angel gives Felix Lola's phone number.

Vicky is bitter that Soledad blew her escape opportunity but Soledad insists that they have to keep fighting to survive.

Surprise, surprise, Adela is pregnant with a "Lopecito". Everyone is happy.

Sofia tells Diana that Marcos is a very intelligent child. She suggests that it might be helpful for the other members of his family to participate in the therapy. Diana nervously agrees. Sofia must be the only doctor in the world that starts treating without taking a history.

Sofia then breaks every rule of medical privacy by blabbing to Andres that Sofia's little brother is her patient.

Andres tells Rodrigo that Diana lied to him and Rodrigo suggests that he hire a private dectective to find out about Diana.

Now we meet Diana's mother. Almost immediately, we learn that Marcos is Diana's child, not her brother. The Mother urges Diana to tell the kid but there's no need; he's listening.

Diana calls her mysterious contact and says that they have to meet right away.

Angel tells Lola and Camilo that he reviewed the legal documents that Camilo prepared and he only had a few minor suggestions.

Then we see why Angel gave Felix Lola's phone number. Felix calls Lola and tells that if she gets rid of one penny of her inheritence from Tiberio, Soledad will die. Lola is impactada. She tells Camilo about the call and Camilo calls Rodrigo.

The police identify the fingerprints and DNA evidence of the people who were in the abandoned hideout. Those present include: Vicky and Soledad, Tiberio, Ramon, Felix, Debora and an unknown person. The unknown person is their target. [At least in NJ, lawyers have to be fingerprinted when they are admitted to the bar but maybe not in California.]

Finally, Andres comes back to his hotel room and there is Diana. So we were right in speculating that she is in cahoots with Angel. Since they start kissing passionately, it is reasonable to assume that Angel is the kid's father as well.

Just a thought on the fact that Diana didn't know that Sofia is Andres' aunt. She might not have known that but when Debora was shot, Diana, Lola and Andres were all at the hospital and Sofia was there, too and as I recall, it was pretty obvious that Sofia knew Andres and Lola. So if you wanted to get psychological help for your son and not have anyone know about it, it would have made sense to go to some other hospital. As Mora said to Rodrigo - LA is a big city - except in novelas.

LA CASA DE AL LADO

"nobody wants Ignacia, not Gonzalo, Adolfo or Javier "
Adolfo maybe likes her. he said to Ignacia "you should have stayed with me".

I thought they would have an accident, but the car was stopped. so most probably Gonzaki wiill shoot Omar.

LA CASA DE AL LADO:

We have to remember that when Ignacia was married to Adolfo, he supposedly committed suicide, by throwing himself out the window (in reality, he and Gonzalo killed Ivan). He then pretended to be "Leonardo" in the wheelchair. He and Gonzalo were plotting to kill everyone in the Conde family, and that included Ignacia for sure. You can't really tell with crazy Ismael, but I think he'd enjoy killing Ignacia much more than marrying her, even though he was willing to "give her a child".

MI CORAZON INSISTE:

Diana's secrets are out (to us). 1. Marco (Marquitos) is her SON, not her little brother. 2. She IS in cahoots with Angel, and is his lover. 3. She wants lots of money to give her, Marco and her Mom a secure future, even though she never spends any time with them. What we don't know for sure (but we suspect) is that Diana has an arrangement with Angel that if she helps him marry Lola, by seducing Andres, Angel will give her lots of Lola's money. We also suspect that Angel might me Marco's father, but we don't know that.

We also now know why Angel wanted to check those papers of Tiberio. He ended with almost no changes. Then why did he have to hold them for 1 day? To gain time. He needed to meet with Felix and have Felix call Lola, threatening to kill Soledad if she transfers that money, which belongs to "them" (the crooks, Tiberio's gang). Lola was just about to complete the deal with Camilo, and it would have been too late. By Angel's keeping the papers overnight, he set everything up.

One bit of good news is that Sofia tells Andres about Marco and the mother. Andres now knows Diana was lying about not having a family, and is going to hire a detective to find out what's going on. Things are looking up, by we have to wait until Friday to find out what happens next (Billboard Mexican Music Awards are tonight).

MI CORAZON:

Also, Adelita's pregnant (by Fulgencio). She, Lola, Etelvina and Pepe are ecstatic!

MI CORAZON INSISTE:

Jean, excellent recap. I wrote my comments before seeing yours, but they really don't overlap much.

BTW, in Maryland, lawyers do not have to give fingerprints.

LA CASA -- miércoles

I was surprised Ignacia drew Gonzalo's picture. I was actually expecting Adolfo. But it's funny that nobody wants Ignacia, not Gonzalo, Adolfo or Javier (except for sex), whereas EVERYBODY wants Pilar (Gonzalo, Sebastian and the late Ricardo Merino).

Both Adolfo and Javier are still turned on by Ignacia. Arguably, Javier is actually in love with her. But with his negocios son negocios mentality -- one that he shares with his new lackey, Nibaldo -- Ignacia just isn't wife material for the great Javier Ruiz.

But Gonzo really can't stand Ignacia -- ni en pintura -- so of course he's the one whose portrait she is painting so obsessively, if ineptly, just as she did with Adolfo when she thought he was her true (lost) love. She loves being the tragedy queen. If anyone ever treated her with respect, fidelity and love she'd take refuge in the arms and bed of the nearest man-whore. Oh that's right, she's been there, done that.

Pilar is the prom queen, the Miss America candidate who gives a speech about world peace. She is the trophy wife that they all want on their arm and in their bed (or maybe they just want her head on the wall over the mantel in the den).

It's true, Hombre. I'm weak. I watch and my fingers itch for the keyboard:)

Erin -- Godspeed! Come back safe.

Alex -- I'm thinking you're right about Gonzo's fate but like Hombre, I'm hoping Rebeca survives.

NJ Sue -- I never welcomed you back from Italy. I hope you had a fabulous time. Are your mixing up your Italian with your Spanish now? :)

Actually, Jean and Hombre, I believe the police DO HAVE Angel's fingerprints! Remember when Lola peeked at Angel's file on Rodrigo's desk? I'm pretty sure I glimpsed prints that were probably taken when he was questioned about shooting Tiberio. Why didn't the police then suspect him of being a rival gangster? If Lola hadn't blabbed about this file to Angel, he wouldn't have been wiping away his prints at Tiberio's. Anyway, I predict that Rodrigo will, on a hunch, have Angel's prints checked against the ones in Tiberio's lair. I was also expecting Angel to con Lola into appointing him as CFO of her foundation so he could then siphon the funds into Cayman Island accounts, then flee the US with Felix.

Diana's calls to her accomplice were confusing because she was probably calling both her mom and Angel. Perhaps, she's also playing Angel for a third party gang. Maybe Tiberio murdered her dad, so she and her mother are plotting revenge. Maybe, she is also someone's half-sister, like Daniel's or Lola's, from an affair or rape by their scoundrel dads. She was also hiding her shy son before Andres came along, kind of like Soledad hiding Lola from Tiberio. If she was another of Tiberio's queens, she may have hidden the birth while away at school. Or maybe she and Angel cheated on Tiberio and passed their kid off as her mom's.

NovelaMaven, excellent comments on Ignacia (& Pilar). I can't agree with you more.
and Gonzaki's desire for Pilar may be because of her motherly character.

Thanks for recap. I was a bit confused as to why Anhell was prepping Felix for the phone call. Didn't Anhell just do a big misstep - I mean who else knew that Lola was giving away the money, it didn't seem like it was a constant topic?

I also have to ask, the cop who can't find the quarter on his nose, is he just stupid or do you think he's in with Anhell? Just too many times that he allowed them to get away.

I did like the scene between Lola and Andres.

I loved when Vicky told Soledad she spent too much time telling Rodrigo lovey dovey stuff to blurt out where they were. Now that was amazing.

FLOR SALVAJE

No recap today. Wednesdays are not very good for me as I don't get home from Spanish class until close to 10 pm. And last night my son came to sleep over. Sometimes he does that when he has to be at work very, very early. His workplace is close to my house, and he gets more sleep that way. I don't watch telenovelas in Spanish when my favorite son (the only one!) is around because he has no Spanish at all!

LA CASA DE AL LADO
Grazie --I mean Gracias, Novelamaven. As usual I was totally confused between Italian and Spanish. Glad to be able to speak English, a language I'm pretty good at.

I am hoping that Omar and Rebeca escape, and try to stay underground for a while --driving Gonzaki even crazier as he tries to figure out where they are. I can't believe that after all this they would kill Rebeca off. About Omar, I'm not so sure....

For a professional woman, and psychologist, to boot, Pilar certainly always finds a man to take care of her problems. I really hate her character. I think Sebastian is in peril --between Javier and Gonzalo.

It was interesting to me that in an earlier episode Javier almost picked up the sheet to look at Ignacia's painting, but after thinking about it decided to respect her work. This time, when he was angry and feeling rejected, he couldn't control his need to see. When ignacia felt rejected by everyone, she said that she would go back to her painting which in a way is the only real thing in her life. (I am saying that, she didn't). I think her painting Gonzalo is a way to work through her feelings about their divorce and feeling rejected by him.

I got the feeling that Carmen was sincere.

Good luck Erin!!!

It's nice to know that quite a few people are watching. Things seem to be getting interesting again.

One last thought --the old Conde house still remains a
character," but so does Gonzalo's empty house feel like another charcter.

LA CASA DE AL LADO:

It's amazing these characters can even speak to each other, with all the sleeping around that's occurred. Here's a short list of who's slept with whom (I'm sure I'll leave out some).

Gonzalo: Ignacia, Carola, Pilar

Ignacia: Adolfo, Gonzalo, Javier

Carola: Adolfo, Gonzalo, Omar, some guy who was killed

Pilar: Javier, Gonzalo, Sebastian and Ricardo (long ago)

Adolfo: Ignacia, Carola, that girl who he ran over with his car and earlier scarred

Javier: Pilar, Ignacia, various bimbos

Renato: Eva, Mabel

Eva: Renato, Matias, maybe Igor

Rebeca: Javier, Matias

And all these people live in two houses next to each other!

LA CASA

jajaja! What we think about when we should be doing something else ...

ok, let's add "Rosa Munita Yen" to Adolfo's list.

And I suppose the odious Nibaldo has started a list of his own: Yolanda and Karen.

It's funny that Carola and Javier, who are both, shall we say, not very discriminating, never seem to have been attracted to each other.

We don't know for sure that Ricardo and Pilar were ever lovers. Too bad viewers can't request una prueba de ADN on Diego...

LA CASA DE AL LADO - MIÉRCOLES

I'm grateful for the Billboard Show being on last night. I was able to catch up a bit.

Only in a novela! Omar and Rebeca have successfully gotten out of that cellar and Gonzaki doesn't know where they are. But are they behind a big bush on the property watching him drive off? This is Miami. Even though they've emphasized over and over that the house is a bit isolated, it's not in the middle of the Everglades. I don't see any alligators. Why couldn't more than fit Omar run somewhere for help? Gak!

FLOR SALVAJE - miércoles

Just a couple of quick ones.

Sacramento and Amanda have done the deed and appear happy with how it went. Susana and Beba come back from school and find them together. Susana knows what's going on and is trying to hide a smile. Beba wants to get into bed with them! She's quickly discouraged from this by the other three.

Mariano Guerrero looks like he's planning to switch horses. He's in Cat's house (her bedroom?) musing about how SHE is a real lady and how great the Hacienda Lazárrabal is.

Ana has spent the night in Rafa's hospital room and grins at him with affection. It's pretty obvious he's going to use her to get Amanda in his clutches.

Alicia is staggering around with a bottle in her hand and decides to pay a call on Tío Francisco. She tells him he ruined her life. She seems to have gotten her point across. He offers again to give her the money. She doesn't want it. He is the picture of guilt.

Enrique escapes from the overbearing mother and goes to a rather seedy night club. There's a blonde bimbo dancing, but he imagines that she's Alicia.

Gak, indeed, Novelera! :)

"Why couldn't more than fit Omar run somewhere for help?"
they didn't have time to get away enough. Gonzo could catch them easily. but I admit that they should have shown it.

LA CASA

*sorry, I meant "could have caught" :)
