Una Familia Con Suerte #19 Mon 10/31/11 the point of this show...

... is the ride, not the plot. I enjoy spending time with the characters and don't really care what happens. A way-too-long rehearsal kept me away from home till the show was half over tonight, and nothing much happened in the second half:

Pancho is still flirting with "La Rebe" over fancy food. They almost kissed, and he asked at his shrine-of-Laurita if she (his dead wife) was ok with that...

Pina invited a lady wrestler, Ana María Torres (La Guerrera) on her show to show how to punch a misbehaving husband...

Lupe is going to a museum with the kids and with Alex...

Tomas invited one of his flash gals into bed with him...

Candy and Chela don't like Rebeca...

Thanks! Heh, plotwise, a few paragraphs was all this fluffy-but-fun episode needed. I hope we at least get to the field trip tonight but kinda doubt we will.

I wondered what was the point of having the wrestler on Pina's show. Maybe these segments were meant to promote other Televisa shows and events from eight months ago.

Hey Melinama- I didn't see this last night, but noticed the picture of La Guerrera. She made many appearances in Gancho as La Monita's rival in the ring. She's a famous female boxer (not a wrestler) I believe. Good to see she's still getting work in tns. I'm glad the Lupita Alex date didn't happen yet because I want to see it. Perhaps I will set this up to record on my dvr now.

I think Vince is really funny. I love his talks with Enzo.

Happy to hear la Guerrera made a return appearance. Like Vivi, I enjoyed her time on Gancho...she truly looked menacing...and is!

Like your point, Melinama, that it's the ride not the plot development, in this one. If you have the time, relax and enjoy it...and pick up some new vocab. Works for me.

Love the silliness in this one.

Another fun episode. The table manners tutorial was silly, predictable and thoroughly enjoying.

All those post-it notes on the car! Didn't we see that on another telenovela? Do people really do that when they have a crush on someone? Seems like a waste of paper to me but maybe I'm just being cranky. Well, Monica liked it and that's all that matters. She looks like she's got it bad for Pepe, heh.

La Guerrera! She looks much more pleasant when she's smiling than when she used to snarl at Valentina in Gancho. I believe she is the current WBC world champion in her division. I'm glad to see her getting some air time in the telenovelas. I guess the point is basic promotion.

A question, when Pancho was hugging Lupita why did Ana look so sad?

Hi Melinama,

Carlos here with another shout out for your picture of la Guererra who frightened and thrilled us as Monita's professional rival and Coni's part-time adviser in Gancho. She is scary-looking but has a droll sense of humor and was a lot of fun on Gancho.

The post it's were in MEPS, Vladimir stuck them all over Priscila's car. I would have killed him & Pepe.

I'm enjoying the ride.

Cap'n Sylvia Sharkbait: Pancho was telling Lupita how much he loved her. Ana overheard and seemed to get a case of sister-envy, though of course Pancho's a great dad and doesn't have favorites.

I liked the sticky notes on the car. Monica seemed to like it, too. Now ordinarily I might disapprove of Pepe's pursuit of her since she's so insistent she's going to marry the rich dweeb, but since I'm not REALLY watching this show (haha) I am not invested in any character doing the right thing, I just enjoy the few bits and pieces I do watch.

(Okay, I will readily admit that 90% of the reason I record this is that I kinda have a thing for Osvaldo de Leon. He was so dreamy in Niña de Mi Corazón.)

Anyhoodle. I'm totally kind of serious about cutting back on my television viewing, but I can't stay away from this one completely and I really appreciate the recaps, which are the only way I have any clue what's happening. And sometimes kicking back and enjoying something fluffy and silly just seems necessary.

LOL Julia, "totally kind of serious about cutting back on my television viewing" - I can relate. I am totally watching less prime-time TV, but seem to be making up the difference in ancient reruns. Most of them are sitcoms that I only half pay attention to while doing other things, but I don't really know why I'm watching them at all.

After the Destilando rerun ends in a few weeks I'll be back down to just this one telenovela, which is plenty for me. At first I couldn't imagine it going on for 8+ months, but now I'm completely hooked and in no hurry for the end yet!
