La Fuerza del Destino #95 Fri 12/16/11 Sound the Alarms!
Labels: Fuerza
Muchisimas gracias for this witty recap and for all the others you have provided us. It has been a true weekend treat for me these last months.
You know, JJ and Carmen are a perfect match in many ways. She'll totally sass back at him, but she won't leave because of the lifestyle he provides her. I can see him spoling Lichita rotten though. She's already in danger of becoming a materialistic brat through her mother's influence. She'll turn into a downright monster in the hands of JJ, who out of lonliness and old age is now clingling onto whatever love and devotion he can get.
I too was kind of annoyed when Camilo called Lucia just after seeing her. To me it seemed like he was trying to instigate a jealousy fit from Ivan. I'm glad Ivan asked him straight up what his intentions are and seemed to believe Cam that he has let Lucia go. But I think Ivan's right that, with as obsessed/in love as Cam was with Lucia, they can't just jump right into being bffs right away. It's not healthy. Cam needs some time away from Lucia.
I thought it was interesting that Tony is so understanding about Alex not warming up to MP because of the way she treated him, yet he keeps pushing Ivan to forgive JJ despite the way he treated Ivan as a child. Does Alex get a pass because he's a kid? In another 10 years, will Tony be pushing Alex to forgive MP and accept her in his life?
I got the shivers when MP was hovering over Perla's crib. If I were Lucia, I'd move into Ivan's house and come visit the ranch to see my mother and grams-- leaving Perla in Ivan's care back at home. She is jealous of everything Lucia has. Lucia has her own kid AND MP's, in MP's view. I could see MP wishing Perla away to hurt Lucia. I'm not going to go as far as to say I see her actually doing something to the baby, but I wouldn't put my hand in the fire for her.
The last day is 12/26, I guess there isn't one this coming Friday?
Amazones de las Alamos -- perfecto!
As we near the end, I have to say that the veteran actors have been perfect in this novela. JJ is wonderfully played, right down tot he smirk. All the others are very good as well.
The drunken kidnapper - yikes! This novela's criminals are certainly buffoons, if exceptionally mean ones.
Lichita jumping on the bed. Poor Celia!
Hope that our favorites stay safe through the ups and downs of the next week.
I mourned the loss of STuD 'cause it was pretty gripping (for me.)
I actually mourned the loss of TdA because I felt so cheated.
With this one I'm just kind of meh, but it was still a good one thanks to MP, Antolin and Caro.
I do have a concern, tho. They killed off Gerry and really he was a good guy. At the end Cam has turned out to be a good guy so I suspect he really is doomed. I hope not, though. I would like to see him happy.
Am I crazy...wasn't there a scene where Anto returned home and Caro told him she was preggers?
By the advances, it doesn't look Like the Carmen JJ relationship will last past Mon night.

======
Don't know if there'll be an episodio on Friday--if so, yeah, I'll be recapping, but I think the couple of nights prior to Christmas Uni presents Xmas movies and specials.
Juan Heil Me not so much. He has given up. I can't see Carmen and Lichita staying with him for long. I think if he had really changed he would have kept trying.
I was happy about Antolin and Carolina. They must have taken 5ft's advice about the less talk more nookie. lol.
It must have been the night for technical glitches. In my recording, after Antolin announced the disappearance of Carmen, it went back to the Lucia/MP argument and repeated everything from there until time ran out.
Carolina will probably now think "You see! Worrying works!"
I think MP is still dangerous. This "Lucia has MY life" mentality will be her doom if she doesn't stop.
Cam needs to heal from his obsession (Lucia) and that means stopping contact for a while. And though Ivan does have his faults, Cam needs to back off.
ITA that Bernice will use her controlling nature for good.
(Word verification: appeed, or what we wish Bruno would have done at some point to Maripaz's shoes. Or clothes. Or hair.)
Carolina's pregnancy, I guess, wraps up her and Antolin's stories. There's no way they'd do anything worse to him now save banging him up a bit and sticking him in Corazon Sagrado for a few weeks.
And Carmen moving in with J3 and MP's apparent fixation on Alex seem to be two paths that go to the same destination: comeuppance. Carmen needs a splash of reality in the face about her baby daddy, and Lucrecia still needs that kidney...Saul's BSC plot should fulfill both objectives nicely, if perhaps not with (nearly) as much "STFU!" as we'd probably prefer.
Do we have time for anymore evil doings by MP? I don't think so since we have Alex's kidnapping coming up & the fin de Lucrecia y JP. Hadn't thought of it before, but instead of any of the hunks, maybe MP will be the one to save Alex. She's trying to get close for some sort of TN plot development.

I am still scared for Alex.
Somehow I think that MP will be an unwitting accomplice in the kidnapping of Alex. I am anticipating a very long fall for her in view of her ongoing resentment of Lucia. I also got the creeps when she was staring at Perlita.
JJ has probably realized he can't do a damned thing to redeem himself to his children. He has screwed up in his upbringing of Saul and has emotionally abused Judith and David as well as their mother. They have managed to recover from it by about 75% (which is pretty miraculous) but Saul is a lost cause and JJ knows it. I think he might see Lichita as a shot at redemption, but Carmen is only looking to get more $$$ out of him. Time has run out for him.
I suspect that Camilo will be sacrificed. That is an old Televisa cliche. Not fair, but these never are.
MP isn't serious about changing. She's afraid to be alone. That's it. She hasn't given any thought to what she's done to earn her exile.
Are you re-entering any time soon, or still hanging tough? I've managed to pick up a bit too much work this past month after the longest drought in (my) history. After a couple of years of disorienting unemployment and disability, it's knocked me silly. I have no illusions the economy is turning itself around considering the unprecedented, astronomical debt and global repercussions, but there is a small deviation happening right now, and I'm riding the wave as far as it will take me. To UA, I can only say, "hang in there, honey" Kudos to all us older people who have to work like 20-somethings in this treacherous environment.
I really need to win the lottery.
1. She was nice to Cleto instead of being rude, like in the old days.
2. She gave Carlotta a hug and told her she would never steal again. When was the last time she did that?
3. She actually looked happy shopping for Alex and bringing the stuff to him, even though he rejected her and rightly so.
4. She hasn't had a drink.
5. She hasn't hooked up with anyone.
This is why I think she might be reevaluating herself and wanting a relationship with her family and Alex. I think maybe she either tries to stop the kidnapping of Alex or she donates a kidney to save her mom. I don't know if she will ever realize how much she hurt Lucia, her grandmother or Alex not to mention Ivan and Camilo or if she is even capable of doing so. I just think she is trying to change, because she knows the alternative is having nobody and no love ever.
Which won't happen.
Lucrazia is the only person willing to trust her and that is almost par for the course because she's her mother. Her willful blindness with regard to her is what makes this possible.
You have me laughine out loud so many times, "well-meaning Gloria whose neurons don’t quite spark with a full charge, asks him if the Sra. is going to die and then leave her (fully adult) daughters orphaned" was the first (but not last). I love your fire, your spark, and always present great humor and wit.
I'm happy Caro's pregnant but it's overshadowed as I fear Karen's comment about MP: "This "Lucia has MY life" mentality will be her doom if she doesn't stop" may well come true.
My thoughts and prayers go out to all of you (LXV, UA) searching for a job in this terrible economy. Jardinera, I'm sorry you had to move and I wish you all of the very best that you deserve.
Diana
Didn't realize that your move was related to job searching. I'm so glad that you found something, but what a trek to get there. Does this take you further or closer to your new grandbaby? My best to you and all people terribly affected by this economy. It touches so many people. My earlier comments were from one who dreams of retirement, but can't afford to do it! Instead I feel lucky to have a job.
I am glad that recapping was a diversion during the job hunt. You have a great talent for capturing the essence and the fun of our favorite form of art.
Good holiday wishes as you get settled.
Counting down -- 6 more episodes now?
Jardinera, And I would read that book. You write s-o-o-o well. And it's a topic I can certainly identify with.
Looking forward to tonight's episode. I'm kind of hoping the writers will break a rule or two. This novela has been less than formulaic, all told and I wouldn't mind a surprise. The despicable characters have been my favorites (JJ, MP & Saul, even Carmen) in terms of their acting, with the exception of Antolín (he's not despicable and he is my favorite). The one thing I won't miss is those humongous chandelier earrings Lucia always wears. They distract me and look uncomfortable. And, speaking of uncomfortable, David Z. was a poor choice for this role (IMO). All the love scenes have just made me nervous. He's much better as a villain.

Traveling Lady: I moved into the same metro area as my nieto so I lucked out!

I marvel at the way these actors--especially the "more experienced" ones make their characters more interesting by incorporating certain quirks. "JJ" has been my favorite that way. Marcelo Cordoba is just such a babe magnet and Kika has done so many varied challenging roles so well! I've enjoyed the novela.
In order of preference

FELS is not even an honorable mention (horrible) In fact I shouldn't even mention it.
Haven't figured out where Familia fits in yet, but I love it.
Looks like I'm turning into a novela junkie.
