El Mundo de Telemundo: Week of February 13, 2012 -- Discuss Amongst Yourselves

¡Hola a todos!

Novelera continues her brilliant chronicles of Flor Salvaje, now in its últimas semanas and Corazón Valiente starring Adriana Fonseca is in the wings, waiting to step in. By the promos, it looks as if Ximena Duque hasn't quite worked the Carola Conde out of her system. Might be worth checking out though ...

For a while, Novelera and Hombre de Misterio were hanging out with me at El Talismán. Now that ET is generally agreed to be a serious contender for the worst telenovela ever made, (Ever. By anyone) they are back here. A clear win for Telemundo fans and a loss for Talismaniacs. Oh well. De gustibus ...

Una Maid and Relaciones Peligrosas both have their fans here -- here's your page, amigos. Enjoy!

Comments:
GENERAL, then Relaciones Peligrosas:

One of the aspects in which Telemundo shows differ from Univision shows (with exceptions, of course), is that on Telemundo, we're often not certain what's going to happen, and who is good and who is bad. They keep us guessing. Alguien te Mira kept us guessing for a long time. On La Reina del Sur, we could never tell who would live and who would die. Even in La Casa de Al Lado, we were guessing (often wrong) right up to the end. And in Flor Salvaje, I STILL can't tell who's good and who's bad. Maybe it's just not that simple. But in El Talisman, don't we just KNOW that Camila will marry Pedro, and Don Gregorio will suffer a horrible death?

This brings me to Relaciones Peligrosas. Once again, we have multiple characters "on the edge", who have good aspects and bad. Certainly, the main guy, Mauricio, is not all good. For one thing, he's 17, and he won't stop pursuing a 27 year old teacher, despite the fact that their relationship could ruin both of their lives.

We find out what Sofia and Cassius were up to. He's created photoshop composites (montajes, in Spanish) of all the teachers, including the principal, half nude! They're all posted everywhere, of course. Teresa had just fired Miranda, but when these new photos come out, everyone "realizes" that Miranda's was fake, too, and Miranda gets an apology. Teresa's job is in even more jeopardy for all of this. One student, Violeta, is quietly analyzing the composites, and may determine that Miranda's is real. But for now, this storm has passed.

Mauricio has agreed to run drugs for $5000 per week. Oh, right, he doesn't know what's in that cleverly disguised brick he has to deliver. Sure. He's told Sofia everything, but as a loyal sister, she's with him. I think she's even going to help him raise money to pay off Oliver's extortion, possibly by selling her car. She wanted to go to the cops, but Mau pointed out that would ruin Miranda's life. So for now, they're playing along with the bad guys.

Oliver, in jail, has a mentor on how to terrorize and extort. The only bright side is that Joaquin is observing all of this.

Santiago is working on getting Patty to loosen up, but she's still a bit wary.

But JP hits the jackpot when he takes Miranda to a secret place. Turns out he volunteers at a program for underprivileged and abused elementary school kids, and he takes Miranda there. Miranda teaches the kids dance, and sees the kind, giving side of JP.

Diego wants to keep quiet that he got beaten up by Mau (after spreading the photo). Even though Alejo took him to the hospital and stayed with him for hours, he doesn't thank Alejandro.

Rich man Andres terrorizes his son, other companies and even the school. LeoMax is worried about investing the $10 million his father wants him to manage.

And Mau's Dad still thinks Mau is gay!

RELACIONES:

Thanks Hombre. I'm glad to see that the photo situation has been fixed, for now, for Miranda. That was good thinking on Sofia's part. Too bad she can't loan Mau some of her brain cells. Since I have been drawn back into La Que No Podia Amar, which Uni is throwing on at 10 this month, I only get to see the last 2 minutes of this. I saw the bad guys are following Miranda and JP and that Miranda is in a LOT of danger. It still seems to me that without real proof, Mau shouldn't be bowing to Oli's balckmail. And where do Mau and Sofia's parents think their expensive toys (motorcylcle and car) are going?

To stick up for Uni/Televisa a bit, it just isn't fair to compare the WORST tn I have ever seen (El Talisman) to anything. Plus, you didn't see Teresa, if we're talking about characters who are not black nor white, and unpredictable endings. In fact, they had THREE different endings for that tn. All made sense because it could have gone any way.

I appreciate both Telemundo's more cynical fare, and Televisa's/Uni's more optimistic fare. Both can have quality and both can have shlock. But, boy oh boy is El Talisman bad! :)

FLOR SALVAJE – VIERNES – Part 1

Rafael doesn’t believe what Abel says about being his son. Meanwhile, Sacramento talks to Zahra. She tells him what a great guy Abel is. Sacto tells her he just talked to the guy who was sent to beat up Rafa in his cell. When he tells her it was Arsenio who paid the guy, Zahra thinks this means Abel is innocent. Sacto asks her how she can be so blind.

Johnny comes in the 4P for a drink and tells Abelardo that the boss is nervous. Alicia tells Enrique she’s going to move this thing along and ask to meet the boss.

Abel takes Rafa to see the fake grave with Rafael Rios written on it. He tells Rafa Zahra suborned the doctor so her baby would not be aborted. She pretended to be going to care for her sick mother. After he was born, she abandoned him to come back to Rafa.

Alicia goes to the bar and gets right in Johnny’s face. Abelardo tells her he’s dangerous, but Alicia just scorns this. Johnny raises his hand, but when she stands right up to him, he backs down. She reminds him he was ready to kill her, but apparently the big boss decided I was of some use – probably more than you. Then she breaks a beer bottle and puts it to her neck. She says she might stick it into her neck and say Johnny did it. He looks really scared. She tells him she’s tired of wasting time. She wants to meet the big boss and right away.

Rafa tells Abel he can’t be his son, because his son would not be such a coward. Then he bashes him in the head with a big rock. Flor shows up screaming at Rafa for what he did. She tells him she thought he’d changed but he is a terrible person. Abel, unfortunately, is not dead. He tells Flor he set this up so that Flor would realize that she could not be with such an animal.

Mariano shows up at the hacienda very drunk and goes into Cat’s room, where she’s sound asleep. Rocío drags him out of there. Apparently the alcohol has loosened Mariano’s inhibitions. The actor does a great job in this scene. He gets maudlin and tells Rocío he just wants someone to love. He wants someone who looks like her, talks like her, thinks like her. He says he went crazy when she went to bed with Emilio and when he found out she’d been with men at the 4P. Rocío now sees it. You killed Emilio not because his mother was an Indian but because he was with me. He tells her yes, because he doesn’t want anyone to touch her. He only wants her for him alone. He almost kisses her, and then grabs her in an embrace.

Alicia tells Enrique she’s got Johnny where she wants him. He’s going to arrange a meeting with the big guy. Enrique finally is worried and wishes he hadn’t gotten Alicia involved in this.

Rafa shows up to confront Zahra. He tells her the worst day of her life has come. He looks positively murderous. Sacramento isn’t going to let him touch her. Zahra asks if Rafa killed Abel. He said he left him bleeding and dying. More great acting. Rafa is almost trembling with rage.

Flor is dabbing cotton ineffectually on Abel’s cuts. He starts up again bad mouthing Rafa, telling her she should look in the mirror. Rafa is with her just as he was with Zahra and won’t let her be happy with anyone else.

FLOR SALVAJE – VIERNES – Part 2

Rocío tells Mariano that what he feels for her is sick. She wants him to leave her in peace so that she can love someone. He again tells her he doesn’t want anyone to touch her, even to look at her. He wants her in his heart and in his life. She finally embraces him and says OK. Go to sleep and we’ll talk tomorrow.

José María tells Manuela he’s going to leave Nueva Esperanza. He can’t bear to be around, seeing Rocío and knowing he can’t be with her. He’s lost her forever.

Rafa tells Zahra he wants and explanation. Who is this Abel Torres? He must be her lover. She slaps him. He thinks it must be a game between she and Abel, because the story the guy told him only Zahra and he knew – about the abortion. Zahra says it is your son. His real name is Rafael Rios. Rafa loses it, points a gun at her, telling her you don’t do something like that to a man. While down on the bed with a gun at her temple, she tells Rafa that the doctor was paid double not to do the abortion. She went to supposedly care for her mother. She loved Rafa so much that, rather than stay with her son, she came back to NE to win him all over again. She only saw him again at age 10. But she knows it’s him.

Rafa tells her he always wanted a child, and it had to be him.

Rocío comes to see Quesada. She tells him she trusts him and wants his help in unmasking Mariano. She tells him about Mariano’s killing her boyfriend Emilio, that he killed the 4P woman Silvia, and she’s pretty sure he killed Lourdes. He tells her he’ll help. The Governor doesn’t trust Mariano either.

Flor tells Abel he shouldn’t have confronted Rafa. He tells her each blow was worth it to protect her. [This is nauseating.] She thinks there’s some other reason they fought besides her. He insists it’s because he doesn’t want Rafa to hurt her. He moves in for a kiss. When he tries for another, she tells him she hasn’t forgotten his aggressive behavior at the river. They both fall asleep. Sacto comes in the next morning. Abel tells him nothing happened. Sacto tells him he looks pretty beat up, rather like Rafa did after he sent that guy to his cell.

In the morning, Mariano is all huffy because Rocío isn’t there. He more or less says she behaved better when she was blind! What a jackass! Then he orders Cat to pack his bags, Rocío’s bags and her own. If Abel Torres died, they’ll have to disappear. [The colossal nerve of this guy. She’s supposed to leave her home and go somewhere with him?]

Rodolfo wants to make a calendar of Mina and a video of Corre dancing. Joy all around.

Piru comes to the hacienda to try to grope Manuela. Ave looks on. Hit him again, Ave!

José María is trying to work drunk. Rocío shows up saying she doesn’t need the doctor, but the man. She tells him they have something to talk about. Now this is hopeful!

Rafa has gone to the fake grave and is crying. Zahra comes there and he tells her he knows that Abel is their child. But he also knows he hasn’t come to reconcile with them. He’s come to seek vengeance and he wants to see the both of them dead.

We are now in últimos capitulos.

RELACIONES:

Vivi, you make some good points. Of course I shouldn't judge all of Univision from El Talisman. I'm just a little mad that after waiting and waiting to get back to Univision, with a show at 8:00, a) they moved it to 9, b) made the 7:00 show 2 hours, which is too much for me, and 3) the new show was so bad. I just don't like their games. I'm still mad from when they moved Dinero to the afternoon, and Corazon Salvaje to midnight. Can't they just let things be? :)

FLOR SALVAJE:

Thanks again, Novelera, excellent summary. That Mariano really is bad. I didn't know about those other killings.

Things are starting to come out, now that Rafa knows Abel is his son. And I'm also glad that Rocio went to Jose Maria.

I'm really getting to watching this show at an exciting time (although I probably missed lots of earlier exciting stuff, too :)

FLOR SALVAJE

Great recap Novelera!

The scene with Mariano and Rocio was very powerful, we've said it before but I have to say it again, these are two really good actors.

Seeing Rafa as more of a good guy with a conscience has been nice. This guy is talented as an actor, too bad we had to wait almost till the end of the novela because his act as the bully was tired after the first couple of weeks.

So Abel plays the big tough guy the whole time, even putting a bullet in a defenseless Francisco and then when it comes down to his mano a mano with Rafa, he drops his hands so he can take a beating? And then he asks to be killed? You have to be kidding me. Really bad writing here guys. His whole plan for revenge is seemingly thrown out the window as he pleads for Rafa to shoot him...please. He never could sell it as a badass anyway.

FLOR SALVAJE

Rand, I think Abel's revenge goal has been a moving target. At first he wanted Rafael to rot in jail for Francisco's murder, killing two birds with one stone. He'd get to deliver a terible grief to his mother and hopefully blame another murder on his father.

Then, when the coroner's verdict came back that the body Rafa had led them to was one of Sacto's ranch hands instead of Pablo Aguilar, his plans changed. And, Rafa was also able to convince Quesada that he had nothing to do with Francisco's murder.

And, we need to keep in mind that Abel did not know Rafael and Sacamento were going to show up at the 4P to call him out. But once he knew he had to face "daddy", more or less on the fly he came up with the idea of meeting him on the riverbank very near the gravestone Zahra had set up to mourn her hijo when she thought he had died in an accident. She showed Abel that spot a few weeks ago, so he knew where it was.

And, Abel told Arsenio, the bodyguard, that he had a secret that would prevent Rafa from killing him. So he never thought he'd be risking his life meeting Rafael Urrieta alone. And his new goal was to get beaten up by Rafa so that Flor would turn to him. That seems to be working like a charm, so far. At least Flor is very angry at Rafa for what he did.

But, I still think some instinct about Abel keeps Flor from really being attracted to him.

FLOR SALVAJE-

Thanks, Novelera, for the great recaps and the interesting analysis of Abel's behavior in Friday's episode.

Rocio and Mariano's scene together was great. I can imagine Rocio trying to control her disgust when Mariano hugs her - submitting to that to be able to bring her brother down.

Unfortunately, it looks like your least favorite toothy actor, Fabian Rios, is going to be on Corazon Valiente.

CORAZON VALIENTE:

I happen to like Fabian Rios. I first saw him in Sin Senos No Hay Paraiso, where he played a very noble character. He also had short hair. In the last three novelas, he's had long messy hair, and pretty much played villains. I think he got his hair cut short for the new show. Does this mean he's good again? We'll see.

CORAZON VALIENTE

I like Fabian Rios too, Hombre. It's Aylin Mujica that worries me:)

CORAZÓN VALIENTE

NovelaMaven, you and I are on the same page. I really don't like Aylin Mujica.

I didn't see Senos, so my only impressions of Fabian Rios were in Herederos and Mi Corazón Insiste. In the first, he was an annoying jerk who occasionally abused his wife, although not an outright villain. And in the second, all teeth, as Jean remarked.

I'm willing to reserve judgment in case he really is watchable in a different role.

FLOR SALVAJE

Holy Complex Characters, Batman!!

Mariano's and Rocio's scene was an absolute heartbreaker... Gregorio was amazing. As much as we love to hate him, he showed such vulnerability and brokenness (and "sickness")--such a tragic character for a villain. He'll still get his comeuppance, I'm sure, but as a tn newbie, this doesn't seem like the typical black hat/white hat formulaic stuff we seem to get most of the time.

Rafael has proved to be quite complex, and I even have a tinge of sadness for Abel. Almost all of the characters in this show are so layered and multi-dimensional (except for Mina and Corre, the happy hookers), it's been quite a roller-coaster ride to see how things are going to play out!

By the way, anyone else find JP annoying as heck? The brooding is getting old, and there's something about his look that makes him seem squirrely.

Corazon Valiente
Wasn't Fabian Rios also in Fantasma de Elena? An evil character with the long greasy curls, as I recall. Looks like this program will also have Katie Barbieri, one of my favorites. I may have to give this one a try.

FLOR SALVAJE – Part 1

Zahra refuses to listen to Rafael's warnings. He tells her that Abel came to see him when he first arrived and threatened him. Zahra says her child would be incapable of killing them. It’s normal that he feels some resentment. He felt abandoned. He tells her he’s pretty sure Abel killed Francisco. Slap! She says she knows him; she visited him for the first 10 years of his life. She finally says that, if he tries to hurt Abel again, he’ll have to kill her first.

Mariano comes to see Abel in Flor’s bedroom. After Flor leaves, Abel chews him out. It’s all right if they are seen together in the 4P, but he doesn’t want Flor to think there’s anything going on between them. Mariano is worried about Abel (and the bribes, of course) since Rafa is out and about. Eversmirk tells him that he shouldn’t worry about Rafa. If he didn’t kill him last night, he won’t ever do anything. Mariano thinks the gals at the 4P are loyal to Rafa. Abel says prosti’s love money and he has more than Urrieta. Mariano should just make sure his truck gets through.

Rats! Rocío has not come to make up with José María. She tells him she knows he didn’t marry Ines. But that doensn’t matter. She doesn’t want him to come looking for her, not even for friendship.

Avelino jerks Piru off the sofa where he was trying to seduce Manuela. They start to fight again, but Manuela pulls a gun and orders them out.

Cat is worried about Sacto being mixed up with Rafa and his problems with Abel. Sacto tells her he has to be involved because he wants a better town for his family. He also tells her he overheard something odd between Olga and Zahra, something about, if Rafa found out, he’d kill Zahra.

Mariano tells the P’s that they must be together for a literary discussion, then laughs at his own joke. He wants to spent some time with Corre. When they are alone, he pushes her rather roughly on the bed and shows her a LOT of money. He wants to be pleased.

After Rocío congratulates Alicia on the record deal, Alicia can’t hold it back and tells her she can’t enjoy anything because she and Enrique are in mortal danger. She ends up telling her everything, including Diego’s death. Rocío promises to keep quiet.

Zahra shows up to see Abel. “Let mommy kiss your boo-boo, baby.” Flor sees Zahra kissing Abel’s hands. When Flor ask what’s up, Zahra babbles something about being grateful he kept Francisco’s body in NE. Later Abel comes up with a line of BS about Zahra having lost a child, and his having lost a mother. Blah. Blah.

Enrique speaks to his mother over the phone. He begs her not to close the newspaper now. His reasons are not for Alicia, but for the good of what a newspaper can do. He says he’s on a very important and dangerous story, and it’s to be a kind of memorial to his father and to his uncle.

FLOR SALVAJE – Part 2

Sacto and Rafa talk at the hacienda. Sacto asks what happened with Abel. Rafa said he tried to finish him off, but couldn’t do it. Sacto says it’s better you didn’t. You’d end up back in jail. Rafa laughs a very cynical laugh and says he ought to have killed him and then put a bullet in his own head. When Sacto asks what the heck he means. He tells him that he beat him to a pulp, but it wasn’t enough. Abel Torres gave him a blow from which he can’t recover. Sacramento tells him he found Abel beaten pretty badly, but in Flor Salvaje’s bed.

Enrique goes to see Zahra and tells her they need to finalize the inheritance and what they agreed on about her buying out his mother’s interest in the newspaper. Then he brings up the subject of Abel Torres. Zahra says he’s a great person. Enrique tells her he’s surprised she’s so sure of that, since he just arrived in town. And, since he arrived in town, there have been a lot of unsolved crimes. He’s pretty sure there’s something illegal in his activities. He says it’s rare for someone so young to have so much wealth and power. A few hours after he arrived in town, his Uncle Francisco was killed. Someone beat up Rafael in his cell, and a body appeared floating in the river. Zahra gets angry and tells him that the only thing she thinks is that he’s been talking to RU, who is the only person who hates him. Enrique responds that she’s the only one defending him. And, if it turns out that he’s mixed up in these crimes, she will be tarred with the same brush.

Sacramento asks Manuela about which of the two guys she wants. She says it’s Avelino. Later Manuela is brought to the medical office, where Avelino is on the examination table with an IV. While Sacto and José María listen in, Avelino tells her he loves her. JM has given him a mild sedative so he has the guts to propose. He does so, on bended knee and Manuela positively shouts ¡Si, Si, Siiiiiii!

Enrique has had some effect, because Zahra takes the key to Abel’s room from reception and finds a small box with silver bullets inside. The tears fall. Later she tells Olga that she found a box with silver bullets, and Olga blurts out “Like the ones that killed Francisco!”.

Flor falls asleep again beside Abel. He kisses her. She wakes and tells him she doesn’t want to raise false hopes for him. She can be his good friend, but not his woman. She doesn’t want to be anyone’s woman. No smirk at all from our pesky boy.

Correcaminos comes in to the bar, where Piru is getting drunk. She gleefully waves around the big wad of money that Mariano Guerrero gave her. Piru remarks that public servants, like the Mayor, don’t usually have that kind of money to throw around. Arsenio listens to the whole thing at the other end of the bar.

Abel manages to plant one more kiss on Flor. This time Rafa is looking through the window. Later he comes to drink at the 4P. When Flor tells him she thought she 86’d him out of there, he tells her he thought she was with Abel. And by the way De tal palo, tal astilla. (a chip off the old block). When Flor asks what he means, he rises to his feet and says “Because Abel Torres is my son.”

Una Maid
Why, if Bruno is mad at Sara over her plan to engage Victor's "help" and all that entails, does Bruno continue to carry out his assignment for her; ie, seduce Bruno and now, it seems, also Amelia? Bruno is a shifty character, and a naughty, naughty boy, but it's hard to hate him.
:o)

Una Maid
Oopos, in my previous, I meant to say "Bruno's assisgnment to seduce Tito", not Bruno.

FLOR SALVAJE-
Great recap, Novelera. The scene with Manuela and Avelino was so cute. I didn't think that Avelino had a problem expressing his feeling for Manuela but that every time he tried, something, usually, Frigida, interfered.

I was terribly afraid that Mariano was going to kill Correcaminos like he killed the other prostitute but it seems like he was just showing how unreliable he is as Abel's ally.

UNA MAID:

Bruno is naughty, and he's mad at Sara. But he's always been like that. No matter how many times Sara disappoints Bruno, he keeps being her puppy dog, because SHE is his real true love.

Corazon Valiente:

Yes, Fabian Rios was "Montecristo", a nut with long hair, in El Fantasma de Elena. He's very intense. Kati Barbieri is also one of my favorites. I'm excited about the show because of the characters, although I have no idea what the show itself will be like.

FLOR SALVAJE:

Novelera, thanks again for a superb recap. I was also disappointed that Rocio didn't encourage Jose Maria, but they should eventually reconcile. It was nice to see Avelino propose to Manuela. Maybe those two couples will end up with a double wedding.

Mariano sure is flashing around that cash, which might eventually lead some to realize he's working with Abel.

Now that Rafa has told Flor that Abel is his son, that really opens things up. And Zahra finding those silver bullets may make her have at least a tiny inkling that her perfect son isn't so perfect.

And Alicia also was able to tell someone her problems (although I don't see how Rocio could help). Yes, in these final weeks, we're getting all sorts of revelations. But we still have no clue as to how it's all going to pan out.

I felt sorry for those two little girls who hoped that Sacramento could get back together with their big sister Flor. Is this even remotely possible? I know Catalina would be left out, and would have to raise a baby on her own. But what if Rafa and Abel took each other out? Could Flor actually end up with Sacramento? Or can Rafa ever be so redeemed that Flor ends up with him? Or could she end up with no man? She did tell Abel she doesn't want a man at this point. We'll see.

RELACIONES PELIGROSAS:

Another sexy episode, with a shocking ending. We see a vision of Ana Conde, the stunningly beautiful teacher, taking off her swimsuit cover, and then maybe her top, purring as she climbs onto Santiago. Whoops, it's a dream of Ana's husband Gilberto. He's sure Ana is having an affair with Santiago.

Actually, Santiago is trying to get Patty to melt. They're at his place, ostensibly to work on the drug report, and he suggests he paint her portrait. He said nude, she says nope. But she puts on a big shirt over her underwear, sits in an artistic pose, and he draws. Later, they get closer, they start kissing, and she freezes! She flashes back to some therapy where she told her shrink that just at the moment of truth, she gets very frightened (she doesn't tell Santiago this, though). She calls Miranda, who will come pick her up.

Mau is getting threats from Oliver, including guys riding by in a car holding up a sign that says "bang"!. Oliver has told Mau that he can't tell Miranda what is going on, or it'll be WORSE for her. So somehow he has to stop her from getting hurt without telling her. Not easy. Yesi tells her brother to find out what Oliver's doing. Yesi loves Mau, even if he doesn't love her. Joaquin tries to listen in to the plans between Oliver and "Gato", but the end result is the other prisoners beat him up!

Gonzalo has fun at the beach with Liz. He has a little more money now (says it's from washing cars, but I think it's from drugs), and she's impressed. Gonzo also wants to get in on Leo's $10 mill that has to be invested. Uh oh.

Sofia breaks up with Leo, and warns him not to bother Cassius. Cassius draws a portrait of Sofia's face and sends it to her.

Alejandro now seems to be drawn to Diego. That'll never work. He's also arguing with Nora constantly, while Sebastian doesn't notice. The three are going to give speeches at Rodrigo's funeral tomorrow.

JP sees an ominous red car and thinks it's Olivares. He can't see inside the tinted windows. He calls Marta, the sister of Laura, and she says Olivares is there in Mexico. Actually, the red car has the thugs Oliver send to scare Miranda. After waiting a while, JP follows the car, which is following Miranda's car, which is going to Santiago's house to pick up Patty. Gilberto is also going there, to confront Ana for her "affair" with Santi (Ana was just working late, and thinks it's weird Gilberto left lots of messages on her cell).

So when Miranda goes to pick up Patty, she's standing outside. The thugs fire a warning shot. And it appears to hit Gilberto!!!!

RELACIONES:
Thanks Hombre. That was quite the ending!

FLOR SALVAJE – MARTES – Part 1

Rafa tells Flor the whole story about Abel. Meanwhile, Eversmirk gives a soliloquy, telling himself that a few more days of Flor curing his wounds, and then he’s going to show her that he’s the man for her.

Arsenio comes to tell Abel that Rafa is talking with Flor in the 4P, causing the smirk to fade. He also tells him he’ll have to keep an eye on Mariano. He’s throwing money around, gave a bunch to Correcaminos, who is telling everyone about it. Abel says he’ll deal with Mariano. If he doesn’t shape up, he’ll have to send him on a trip or perhaps for a swim in the river.

Zahra is completely unhinged, denying that the silver bullets mean Abel killed Francisco. [Has she forgotten the vicious things he said to her when he admitted her was her son?] Olga wants to turn the matter of the silver bullets over to the cops to sort, but Zahra practically yanks her arm off.

Rafael Urrieta has become a sort of Cassandra. No one believes him (except maybe Sacto) about how evil Abel is. He tries to convince Flor to talk to Zahra. Maybe Zahra will listen to Flor. He’s sure Abel plans to harm Zahra.

Mariano comes home with a necklace for Rocío and a ring for Cat. He says he feels like he’s in a family here. Both women are appalled but have to pretend to be pleased. Later Rocío asks what Abel does for a living, and gets a very suspicious reaction from Mariano.

Flor goes to see Zahra and asks for the truth. She tells her that Rafa told her Abel was his son. She hears the whole story and then asks why Zahra never told her and why Abel kept quiet. Zahra asks if Rafa is manipulating her again. Flor says: “What manipulation? Abel lied. He said his father didn’t want him born, but he didn’t say that his father is Rafael Urrieta!”

Rodolfo is having dinner with Enrique and Alicia. Enrique gets on the kick again of paying for Alicia’s recording. Rodolfo keeps insisting that Abel wants to “evaluate” Alicia and insists on doing the recording. Alicia puts her hand on Enrique’s arm, warning him to back off. Later on Rodolfo gets very drunk and says it’s not healthy to be on Abel’s bad side.

There’s a scary development when Arsenio tells Abel that he found out that Diego wasn’t really being undercover for the police, but for the newspaper, specifically the one owned by Enrique Losada’s family. Abel comes to the conclusion that the one on their trail might be Enrique.

Back to Corre dancing in the 4P. You know, I love this show. But how in the world could the same patrons of the 4P bar continue to wildly applaud and carry on every time the women do the very same song and dance number over and over again? Piruetas is also getting drunk. He seems to be suffering over Manuela, but this seems like a continuity error because they haven’t shown him finding out he’s lost her.

Rafa comes to see Abel and tells him that he told Flor he was his son. Abel is very annoyed and asks why he did it. Then he goes on to tell Rafa Flor is his woman. He’s sleeping in her bed and giving her more pleasure than Rafa ever did. Abel tries to shake off what will happen with Flor, saying he’s nothing like Rafa. Rafa tells him people around here put more stock in blood than in setting examples. Rafa tells him they both know he came to NE for vengeance. But he asks him not to get Flor mixed up in this. Abel sneers. Don’t tell me you fell in love; you who feel nothing. He goes on to brag about how hot she is in bed.

Rafa isn’t biting on this stuff. Flor comes in then and unfortunately only hears the part about Rafa telling him to keep away from her and not the part about bragging about bedding her, something he hasn’t succeeded in doing. On his way out, Rafa tells her she will someday soon repent of her attitude toward him.

FLOR SALVAJE – MARTES – Part 2

Sacto tells José María he needs to snap out of it and fight for Rocío. Sacto is a lot nicer guy now that he’s not hung up on Amanda. But JM is doing a role reversal with him, whining all the time and now drinking heavily.

Mariano suspiciously asks Rocío why she was asking about what Abel Torres does. She tells him it was just curiosity. Mariano says she shouldn’t be curious like a cat. She doesn’t have seven lives like a cat. He tells her he’s saying this out of affection. Then he says he has some business to take care of, and he expects to find her here when he gets back. Lately she’s out and about too much. If she plans to go out she needs to tell him where she’s going. [How does she keep from bashing him over the head with a hammer? I couldn’t.]

Abel puts on the “poor little me” act, saying he’s glad she arrived just in time to hear Rafa threaten him. Flor isn’t buying. She gives him a scornful look and tells him she can see that he enjoyed it. She doesn’t know which thing matters more to him: getting justice for the town or watching Rafa suffer. He starts to whine some more about wishing he’d had a good father. She tells him that with all this sad story of his childhood, he forgot one detail, that Zahra and Rafael are his parents. He says he didn’t want her to think badly of Zahra. He now wants to thank her for putting RU in his place and for being on his side.

She tells him: “Not so fast. I want you to leave now. You made me think you were different, but no. You are a liar like all the rest.” When he comes up with the protect Zahra crap again she tells him that the problem is not Zahra but Rafael Urrieta. He knows what happened between she and Rafa, and he is his son. He keeps insisting he’s not like RU. She tells him this may comfort him, but it doesn’t help her situation. She can’t have anything to do with him.

Mariano comes upon Quesada and his police stopping and searching trucks. Mariano asks whose idea this was; Q tells him the Governor’s. Mariano is now very nervous. I’m hoping they stop Abel’s truck, but Mariano manages to finesse Q, telling him they don’t need to search every one.

Abel apparently hasn’t learned that begging and pleading for someone to want you in their life has a minuscule chance of succeeding. He desperately says she must still love Rafa. She tells him she doesn’t trust him and feels that he approached her just to hurt Rafa. When she tells him again to go, he tries a little wobbly step or two to get her to ask him what’s wrong. She finally says that it’s Zahra’s house and she can’t throw him in the street. But SHE leaves! Whew. I don’t think I could have stood it if he’d manipulated her into staying.

Sacto and Rafa talk at the hacienda. Sacto innocently asks if he might try to reconcile with Abel. Rafa says that what he will do is give his life to prevent Abel from doing more harm. Oh, dear. More foreshadowing than I wanted.

Mariano comes to see Abel and is crowing about outwitting Quesada. When Mariano makes some quip about the money, Abel tells him he’ll get money when he learns to do things right. He tells Mariano he’s not ready for his business. People in town are learning that you’re throwing money around.

Rafa and Rufino arrive on Abel’s property to have a look around.

Flor comes to the hacienda to see her sisters. She wonders what some of Rafa’s guys are doing there. Sacto tells her he’s staying there. Flor is aghast. She starts to rant about Rafa deceiving her about taking her to Pablo’s grave. Sacto tells her that Rafa did think he was taking her there; it was Rufino who made the body switch. Finally!

FLOR SALVAJE – MARTES – Part 2 text is teh same as Part 1. Please correct this.

FLOR SALVAJE:

Thanks, Novelera. I'm glad Flor is no dummy, and is able to see through Abel, at least a little.

Mariano sure was lucky he showed up just in time to not have the drug with the drugs searched, since they searched the two before it. But he's getting a little lesson from Abel for his wild spending. How can he think he'll sucdeed with Catalina when just yesterday he paid big money to go with a prostitute?

I like the idea of a calendar with Mina. In fact, I'd like a calendar with all the actresses, on sale to the real life public :)

Avelino took Manuela to a place with some beautiful stars. That was nice.

I think Zahra initially suspected Abel had something to do with Francisco's death, but either he talked her out of it, or she talked herself out of it. The silver bullets are making her doubts grow again, even if outwardly she's in denial. I feel terrible for her, but she's going to have to realize how bad Abel really is. I was glad when she asked Olga to swear not to tell about the bullets, Olga refused to swear, although I don't think Olga is going to rush to the cops either.

So Abel is suspicious of Enrique, but so far, not of Alicia. Maybe Alicia will be able to find out his secret. But I'm worried about Enrique. And I think Rodolfo's drunk remark about how dangerous Abel is means Rodolfo is in fact completely aware of what Abel does.

FLOR: The TRUCK with the drugs!

RELACIONES PELIGROSAS:

Sure enough, Gilberto was hit by the bullet from Oliver's thugs. He's rushed to the hospital, and fortunately the bullet went straight through w/o hitting any major organs, and he'll be fine. He apologizes to Ana for his jealousy, and she agrees to give their marriage one more chance.

Joaquin is taken to the same hospital. A distraught Yesi calls Mauricio to take her there. So of course Miranda sees him in the hospital, comforting Yesi, and thinks they're novios. Mauricio has decided to totally do the drug dealing. He does his first delivery, to an address that doesn't exist, to a guy with a gun and a knife. It was just a test, but Mauricio passed. Gonzalo is now out of a job. I think he actually WAS washing cars at the place the drug dealer owns, so he's mad. He comes to Rodrigo's funeral high, which disturbs Leo.

Leo and he have decided to invest $2 million of Dad's money in a Chinese computer chip company. Andres' assistant tells him. Andres says, Leo doesn't know what he's doing. Don't buy the stock, but tell him we did. Hmmmm.

Carmen, the Mom to Mauricio and Sofia, knows Mau's in some big mess, but neither kid is talking.

We learn that Santiago used to use drugs, but he tells his father Armando he's been clean for years, and no one has to know of his past.

JP is still convinced that he ex father in law, Olivares, was behind the shooting. He's wrong, of course.

Joaquin was really hurt, broken ribs, punctured lung, but he makes it through the night, and will be okay. He tells Yesi that the thugs in the jail were not after Mauricio, but some woman!

UNA MAID EN MANHATTAN

I really liked last night's episode. Marisa's speech to Victor at the end was really powerful. I think Victor feels trapped by Sara now, but I really hope he stops the custody battle. It's really, really stupid of him to think he could actually take care of Lalo. I also liked the dancing, even though it did seem kind of random. It was nice to see Cris loosen up and get out of his comfort zone for a few minutes. I'm glad Cris and Marisa are still together and they haven't broken up again yet. Actually, I think this week's episodes have had way more action than we've seen in a while, so it shows that Marisa and Cris can be together but the show can still have drama.

FLOR SALVAJE

"Back to Corre dancing in the 4P. You know, I love this show. But how in the world could the same patrons of the 4P bar continue to wildly applaud and carry on every time the women do the very same song and dance number over and over again?" -- Novelera

Yeah, I always giggle a little at seeing the same extras every night in the 4P. My favorite bit of paltry soap budget rearing it's poor little head was in an earlier storyline where ALL of Nueva Esperanza went on strike -- all 10 of them. I mean, you really want a cast of hundreds for those strike scenes or the riots, but a soap just can't afford them.

I do think the soundtrack for this show is pretty strong. There must be about 8 songs and probably 4 or so musical themes, and the music is usually strongly attached to individual characters and emotions. I don't know, but I'm guessing these songs were probably written specifically for the show. They can get repetitive over 150 episodes, but are by and large effective, I feel. I mean, one of the most devastating moments on the show for me was when Alicia was at her lowest point, having just discovered Enrique got married, and she was lying in bed in a squalid room, strung out on drugs, and she softly started to sing the same song she wooed audiences with on stage so many times -- it was just a heartbreaking scene, a moment I'll always remember.

Interestingly, judging from pics at Jonathan Islas's twitter page (and don't visit it or any of the actors' twitter pages if you don't want to be spoiled as the actors give away a heck of a lot in their photos), the scenes of the 4P girls visiting the beat up Abel in Flor's bedroom were filmed on the last day of shooting, January 31. Those scenes added pretty much nothing to the plot and really just seemed to be time fillers, so why were they shot? Also interesting, the first scenes of Jonathan Islas in his beat up Abel make up were shot the first week of January. So why did the show decide to shoot filler scenes to insert into what should have been already finished episodes on the last day of filming? Purely speculation here, but I think the scenes of beat up Abel filmed the first week of January might have had a sex scene with Abel and Flor that the producers decided (rightfully, IMO), to cut, and the scenes of Flor just going to sleep beside Abel and then with the other girls visiting him were shot to replace the sex scene and aftermath and thus, still get the episode to proper length. But all that is just me playing twitter detective.

FLOR SALVAJE

Sorry about Part 2 of the recap being in there twice. I mislabeled it and thought I put the incorrect one in the garbage can on the site, but I guess not.

Hombre, I'm worried about Enrique also. He's really in over his head and doesn't seem to realize it. I think he somehow feels his newspaper connections can protect him from the cartel violence. He should pick up a Mexican newspaper to get a reality check! An alarming number of reporters and publishers are afraid to write anything about the cartels at all.

Also, Hombre, regarding Mariano's time with Correcaminos, I don't think Mariano thinks his visits to prostitutes count at all. When the novela first started, he had a regular squeeze at the 4P, named Clara. This was beyond outrageous because she was giving him all her earnings from the 4P to use to run for mayor. Then he just up and married Lourdes. Clara thought he was going to marry her, and committed suicide. Basically, he has less morals than an earthworm.

Argee2, thanks for dropping by. I agree with you about the music for Flor Salvaje. I like all of it. I'm pretty sure there are different themes for each couple: Rafa/Flor; JM/Rocío; Enrique/Alicia; and Cat/Sacto.

Love the music on the Flor Salvaje soundtrack! It's all available on itunes for download... I've got the entrada theme and Cat/Sacto's theme ("Pensando en Ti") playing regularly! I wish the entrada to La Que Podia was available somewhere... been trying to find that one online for months :)

FLOR SALVAJE – MIÉRCOLES

At first Flor doesn’t believe Sacto about Rufino moving the body. But he tells her he overheard Rafa furious with Rufino for what he did, realizing how it would turn Flor against him.

Rafa and Rufino arrive outside Abel’s drug lab. Mariano Guerrero is just coming out after getting his hindquarters chewed by Abel. He looks stricken to see Rafael there. Rafa says “Why doesn’t it surprise me to see you here?” He tells him he’ll be in hot water if people find out he’s using his office as mayor to do favors for Abel. He also tells him he should be glad Rafa didn’t kill him because, if he had, Mariano would be running like the rat he is. Abel is furious to find out he’s there and comes out asking him what he’s doing there, papa? Rafa asks why he’s holding a meeting with the Mayor in a pigsty like this one.

The P’s discuss why Abel is paying for Alicia’s disk and the promotions for the other P’s. They think maybe he’s doing it to appear like a prince in front of Flor

While walking away from Abel’s drug lab, Rufino tells Rafa he’ll kill Abel and get him out of the way. Rafa grabs him by the throat and tells him that, if he does it, he’ll be the one in the grave.

Flor locates Rufino and he tells her that he moved the body. He also lays some insults on her. His hatred of her is quite irrational.

Abel tells Arsenio he’s not going to move his lab. It would cost an arm and a leg. He tells him he’s going to meet Alicia. Arsenio asks if this won’t be a problem because of Enrique. We get that small, sadistic smile again, and Abel says that the dead don’t talk and they don’t publish newspaper stories.

Zahra calls Quesada about the investigation and sneaks in a question about the silver bullet that killed Francisco. He tells her that only a professional killer would use that type of bullet.

Mariano shows up at Corre’s house and tells her she has to service him for free from now on because she opened her mouth about how much money he gave her.

Flor tells Ana she hopes Abel has gone far, far away. She then tearfully tells her that Rafa made a genuine sacrifice of love, and she didn’t believe him. She also tells her she doesn’t love Abel Torres, plus he’s Rafa and Zahra’s son.

Rocío tells Cat she needs to wear the ring Mariano gave her. He needs to believe they’re on his side. She tells her that a “friend” told her about a drug operation coming to NE, and that she thinks this is what Mariano and Abel are up to.

Rafa and Sacto talk. Sacto is surprised Rafa isn’t going to see Flor. Rafa appears to now be disillusioned with Flor. He tells Sacto that all of them: Pablo, Sacto, himself, even Abel, all thought they were stronger than Flor Salvaje. He now thinks she just plays with men. Earlier he told Rufino maybe he needed to be the Rafael of before. Wonderful acting by Tony Dalton.

Olga has advised Zahra to talk with Abel about her worries. He comes to see her and seems fairly affectionate. In this scene there isn’t one smirk, so I’m not sure if he’s being sincere with her or not. She asks if he loves her. He says there was a lot of resentment, but he does feel some instinct of being her son. She then tells him she went into his room and found a bullet like the one that killed Francisco. She holds it up and asks him why he had those bullets.

Novelera,

The scenes as of late with Sacto and Rafael are some of the best in novelas. You're right about the great acting by Tony Dalton, too bad they waited this far into the novela to show us more of his range.

FLOR SALVAJE:

Thanks for another great summary, Novelera. More and more people know about the father/son relationship. I think even most of the girls at the 4P know. And just when Flor realizes that Rafa WASN'T tricking her with the gravesite, HE seems to give up, and says it's back to the old Rafael. Oh well.

Mariano sure is suspicious of what Quesada and the Governor were discussing (him). Hopefully, not enough to wriggle out of all his sordid dealings.

So Enrique, in addition to being a reporter, is a fashion photographer? It was funny (but not too original) when he told Mina that the reason why his posing instructions for her sounded like what her "clients" say, was that she should be "making love" to the camera :)

I expect Abel will find a way not to lose his cool with Zahra, and convince her that the silver bullet doesn't mean he's bad. But maybe not. What if he admits what he did, such as kill Francisco. Could Zahra's blind mother love forgive even that?

I got a new TV a few months ago, and Flor really looks beautiful in closeups. I just wish she could be happy!

FLOR SALVAJE

Tony Dalton is a very interesting person. He was born in Laredo, Texas. I'm pretty sure his mother is Mexican and his father American. The bio says that he grew up in Mexico City. But he also went to a private school in Massachusetts. He's perfectly bilingual in English and Spanish, and he studied at the famous Lee Strasberg Acting School in New York City. He directs as well as acts.

RELACIONES PELIGROSAS:

I know hardly anyone is watching this, but I enjoy doing the mini recaps, so I'm going to continue. One thing I forgot from yesterday is that we now know that Santiago has a wife (maybe ex-wife) and a daughter, that he lost custody of because of his former drug habit. Patty tells Miranda that Santi is a sex maniac, which Miranda fortunately doesn't believe for a minute. The two have some tequila and bond, neither telling the other much, except that Miranda liked JP's volunteer work at the elementary school.

Mau tracks down Ignacio, the one armed kid who was working for Olivares. JP is right behind. He threatens Mau to stay out of his private life, and Mau apologizes and agrees. JP also threatens Ignacio with Ig's own gun, better not work for Olivares any more.

By working as a drug runner, Mau gets his moto back. The first big run is tomorrow, and the cargo is very risky. The previews make us think something goes very wrong. But Mau needs the money. He even tells Miranda, before their first tutoring session, that he'll sacrifice everything for her, sort of like Tristan.

But he doesn't know Oliver's plan. Oliver has learned from Gato, that first you scare them, second they pay up, then you really DO kill them! In other words, after Mau gets the money for Oliver's lawyer, he's going to have Miranda killed anyway!

Yesi tells Mau that Joaquin said Oliver was after a woman. Mau won't tell Yesi the truth, even though he has told his sister Sofi everything. Yesi is a bit hurt.

Sebastian and Nora realize they shouldn't go together, it was just a reaction to the shared pain of losing Rodrigo.

Ana wants Teresa's job. She's mean to Leo and Gonzo by giving a pop quiz on their first day back from suspension. Gonzo wants to attack Ana, or attack Cassius, just do SOMETHING. Leo says revenge is a dish best served cold, i.e., they need to think carefully about what they do.

And Violeta, Gilberto's niece, blows up the photo of Miranda, and sees the initials M.B. on something in the background. That's Mauricio Blanco! The nude photo of Miss Miranda was real!

FLOR SALVAJE:

When I first watched Tony Dalton as Rafael, I thought, not a good looking guy, I can see why he has to play the villain. But strangely, his commanding presence makes one forget the initial visual reaction, and I can see why he can actually appear handsome. His amazing acting can transform him from bad to good and various shades in between.

Relaciones Peligrosas:

Thanks for hanging in there with this one, Hombre. Uni's insane schedule change threw me off my shows for a bit, but it sounds like this show's been consistently good in its own uniquely cracked-out way, particularly with the growing snowball that is The Picture.

Sounds like I'm not the only one who's torn between LQNPA and Relaciones Peligrosas--I'm watching or Tivoing RP for now, because LQNPA is available on line (maybe a little late, but available). And RP is kinda crazy, but in a good way! Wish they'd swap El Talisman and LQNPA--El Talisman is just really poorly written. :/

FLOR SALVAJE – JUEVES – Part 1

Wow! What an amazing scene with Zahra and Abel! Poor, poor Zahra. First he snarls at her for going through his room. He asks her if she plans to use this bullet against him. “At last you have your son just like he is in front of you.” He gives that psycho smile and tells her he did it. He put a bullet just like the one she had in Francisco’s head. Zahra begs him to take it back. He says: “I did it. And I enjoyed it more than anything ever in my life – killing your love.”

Enrique has a guy install a listening device in Abel’s room.

Now Abel changes tactics. He starts almost crying. He says he doesn’t know why he did it. He’ll give himself up. He says the child inside him began to say why him (Francisco) when he never had a second of his mother’s love. Now he starts to cry in earnest. Begs her forgiveness. The rotten SOB did it in cold blood, and he’s gotten Zahra to let him get away with it. Just to show for sure there’s no real emotion there, he asks about Olga. Won’t she turn him in. Zahra at least lies and says Olga knows nothing. Later Abel tells Arsenio that he cried because he hates with every fiber of his being the woman who gave birth to him.

Rigoberto almost declares himself to Olga. They have so much in common.

Mariano comes to the hacienda bitching and moaning. Just when he thought the world was Mariano’s oyster, this happens. Rocío asks him what’s up and responds yes when he asks if he can trust her. He tells her the Gov and Quesada are conspiring against them. Plus, he’s sure that Cat is the one spying on him and giving them information. Also, Flor is out to get him. He looks positively unhinged.

At a meeting at the Petrolera, Rafa signs over the land that was disputed to Sacramento. He tells him that Frigida forged his father’s signature. He doesn’t want the money he paid Frigida. He thinks the proceeds from the land will help Sacto make up for all the workers he’s lost to Abel Torres.

Corre asks Piru to help her with some dance moves for her video. He is pouting because he isn’t getting his big chance. When she tells him that Mariano is really into her right now and she fears for her life, he softens and agrees to help.

Dudi distracts Manuela, on duty to watch them, by having her give Ave water. He then sneaks a kiss with Susana.

Enrique and Alicia lie together in bed. They both have a bad feeling. Enrique suggests they pack some bags and leave the country, when the phone rings. It’s Abelardo. The meeting is set for that day.

Later Enrique is listening to Abel in his bugged room talk to Arsenio about preparing for our dear visitor, Alicia. Enrique yanks off the headset and runs to try to stop Alicia. I think this is because, if he knows who the head guy is already, why does Alicia need to take the risk. But he’s intercepted by a couple of Abel’s armed thugs and forced into a car.

FLOR SALVAJE – JUEVES – Part 2

Rafa comes into the 4P, dances with Mina and then takes her to bed. Flor is absolutely miserable. Her lovely sister Ana comes up to rub salt in her wounds. Grinning like a chimpanzee, she asks Flor if maybe Rafa can now “perform” with someone besides her sister? And, it’s not my fault he stopped loving you. I guess Ana isn’t going to change.

Sacto and Cat are talking about Rafa’s giving back the land. He kisses her hand and notices the huge rock on her finger. When she tells him it was Mariano, he tells her his patience with the Mariano situation has limits. MG comes in just then and says he also has limited patience. He’s tired of coming home to “his house” and finding Sacto there. Sacto says he’s actually glad to see him so he can do this face to face. He has Cat give him the ring and he holds it out to MG. When MG asks him who he thinks he is, Sacto lets him have it. He asks who MG thinks he is, installing himself in a house that doesn’t belong to him and behaving like the owner. Plus you think you can give gifts to Cat as if she were your woman. Mariano looks positively murderous. Cat asks Sacto to leave because it upsets her when they argue. Sacto goes, but he tells Mariano to watch out because he’s got his eye on him.

Meanwhile, Rocío was searching MG’s room and found the briefcase with money in it. But she hears Mariano roaring: “What game are you playing?” at Cat. She goes out to intervene, telling her brother she won’t permit him to treat a pregnant woman that way. Cat says that her brother isn’t capable of understanding that Sacto is the father of her child and that she loves him. Mariano tells her they have a “deal”. Does she want him to say it right here in front of Rocío. Cat says she’s fed up with his threats. He looks a bit like a cornered animal.

Rafa apparently excelled in his performance. But he tells Mina women are just good for sex and betrayal. She tells him that Flor is a good person. She’s kind to the P’s. Plus, she’s heard there isn’t anything going on between Flor and Abel. When Mina goes back to the bar, she extravagantly tells the whole room how great Rafa was. Flor says she must be a bit overheated after her efforts, and throws a drink on her. Later Mina says she did that to wake her up. Flor obviously loves him, and they should try to patch it up.

Johnny has taken Alicia to a spot and blindfolded her. Then a car picks them up. She’s in a room with two thugs and Johnny and getting impatient after they take off the blindfold. Abel comes up behind her. She turns and realizes who the big boss is. He tells her he always knew Alicia had strength. She’s going to be the boss of all the distributors. Johnny says “Wait a minute! That’s my job!” When it looks like Arsenio is going to take him out and do away with him, Alicia says he’s useful and tries to keep him alive.

Abel then tells Alicia about Diego. Diego was a spy. He knows that Alicia didn’t send him, but Enrique did. He tells her Enrique was just using her to get stories, manipulating her. He didn’t care about her as a woman. Alicia tells him she never told Enrique anything, plus she’s not really interested in him. She was all ready to end it. Just then they bring in Enrique gagged, with his hands tied behind him. They sit him in a chair, hand her a gun, and tell her to kill him.

FLOR SALVAJE- Fabulous recaps, Novelera. I haven't been able to watch an episode since Tuesday so I will catch up this weekend.
Concerning the music on FS, I posted this before in response to a question but maybe no one saw it:

A little checking on the internet revealed that there is an album on iTunes of much of the music used on Flor Salvaje. It is called 'Flor Salvaje,' no surprise there and the music was written by someone name Marco Flores and is sung by someone named Eli. I don't know if the music you are interested in is on the album but it probably is. Check it out and thanks for giving me the opportunity to find it. I like a couple of the songs on the novela.

As for the girls at the 4P singing the same songs over and over, that's typical novela. They pay for a few songs and that's it. Remember in El Clon, how the same song was playing in the bar for 25 years? And I think in Herederos, they used music from El Clon in a bar scene.

Novelera, thank you for all your wonderful recaps! As soon as I found this site I read through all of the "Flor Salvaje" ones, since that's the novela I'm watching.

argee- I also noticed that the 4Ps at Abel's bedside was filmed way after the original Abel beatup scenes were filmed and it's a good theory that they actually cut out a scene where he beds Flor. Jonathan Islas actually tweeted a pic where he and Monica Spear were on a bed and she was in a bathrobe so it fits. I think it was a good choice to cut it (if they did).

I'm surprised at how much this novela has picked up recently. I am going to miss it when it ends. And Novelera- talk about too much foreshadowing indeed! when Rafa said he'd die stopping Abel.

I had no idea the music was on itunes, thanks for the headsup to everyone who mentioned it, I'll be looking it up!

FLOR SALVAJE:

Exciting recap of an exciting episode! Thanks, Novelera. I'm guessing that the gun Abel gave Alicia to shoot Enrique is not loaded, and this is just a test (which she'll probably fail) to see her true feelings. I feel terrible for her. I also liked her black wig.

Mariano is also getting in more and more problems (Good!). The danger is that when a bad guy gets cornered, he gets desperate, and someone could get hurt. Unfortunately, he's going to be very mad when he realizes his own sister, whom he idolizes, is betraying him.

Zahra told Abel, I lost my husband, I couldn't bear losing you, too. This makes some kind of wacky sense, or does it? So we have a contrast, between Rocio, who WILL turn in her evil brother, and Zahra, who WON'T turn in her evil son. In real life, you often read headlines about mothers protecting their murderous sons, so it's not that far-fetched. But a son who killed the mother's true love, just after they got married?!!!

RELACIONES PELIGROSAS:

Mauricio and Sofia's parents, Manuel and Carmen, have a long talk. Carmen tells Manuel that she appreciates his hard work, but since it takes him away from home so much, the relationship with the kids has suffered. He can't just be strict, he has to try to understand.

Mau has a nice tutoring session with Miranda. They almost accidentally kiss at the end. Then he goes to keep Yesi company at the hospital, where Joaquin has taken a turn for the worse. Next stop, his drug deal. He picks up the ominous package from Willie or Billy, the dealer, and zooms off on his moto to some dark scary building. He's followed by a van. He finally gives the stuff to the recipient, and rushes out, stumbling down the stairs, cutting himself several places on his stomach. In pain, he zooms home, followed by the van, and by his parents! He quickly changes his shirt to hide the blood, and tries to convince his parents nothing was wrong.

Ana Conde is unrepentant about giving Leo and Gonzo a pop quiz. She tells Teresa that Terry is too soft. SHE'd give random drug tests!

Mau makes up with Diego for beating him up after Diego posted the nude photo. Alejandro, who seems to be attracted to Diego, makes a face.

Violeta asks Ana and Gilberto, did you know it's a major felony for someone over 24 to have sex with someone under 18? That girl is going to cause trouble!

So are Leo and Gonzo, who decide how to repay Cassius. They slip drugs into his power drink. He initially is happy, runs super fast in a race, but later, gets a little weird, takes off his clothes, and is wandering naked in the halls of the school, spaced out. Santiago sees him, but also sees Teresa coming from the other direction!

FLOR SALVAJE- I agree, Hombre, that in real life mothers do protect their murderous sons but are they sons they haven't seen since they were 10 years old and with whom they never had any adult relationship? To me, this is more the standard novela trope where blood ties are the most important thing.

RELACIONES PELIGROSAS

Hombre, I'm reading your recaps of this show, even though I only watched the first week. Good on ya for persisting in the face of few comments!

So - the 17 year old galán is selling drugs? That's gotta be a first!

From what I read, it sounds like this fictitious school has absolutely no safeguards against vicious bullies. I thought schools in the US were hyper aware of bullying and stopping it in its tracks when they found it.

My only child is way past high school, and he was strong, athletic, and popular. So nobody bullied him. He also had a kind heart. He took a girl who lived in a foster home to a prom and paid for her dress!

So I'm wondering if the bullying portrayed in this novela is realistic in today's high schools.

RELACIONES PELIGROSAS:

Novelera, that's great that you're reading my recaps. Thanks.

Mauricio certainly didn't want to sell drugs (he's really just "delivering packages", but he was desperate, saying he'd sacrifice himself to save Miranda. Supposedly, he's now gotten enough money to send to Oliver so Oliver can pay his attorney. Mau thinks it's over, and he can stop doing the drug runs. I doubt it.

As for the bullies, when I was in junior high in 1964, I was bullied. My "best friend", a really popular guy, made me carry his books and do things for him, and if I didn't, supposedly I'd get beaten up by this big tough guy. Although that never happened, I was terrorized. But of course I never told my parents, teachers, or anyone (except maybe my brother). I have a feeling that even with all the press against bullying, it's still widespread, just that the bullies are not as brazen. In Cassius's case, the school did suspend Leo and Gonzo for 2 days. I don't know if the school will find out they dosed his sports drink.

It wouldn't surprise me if the dosing somehow went by the wayside, at least publicly; either way it'd just be one more black mark against Team Douchebag. (That said, considering some of the stuff the show's done so far, I'm almost scared to consider how they plan to recycle karma for those two.)

And as for Mauricio...it's one vicious twist on the whole "Galan tries to do good by his love, but somehow screws it all up" novela cliche, innit?

Hello, I found your website by accident and I enjoy reading them all. Hombre, I am watching Relaciones Peliigrosas, but i missed a couple of episodes, so thank you for posting. I can catch up when I am not home. I also enjoy Wildflower. I haven't figured out all of the characters yet, but I like what I see. I like reading everyone comments.
