Una Familia Con Suerte #105-106 Wed 2/1/12 aghast again

Once again my son failed to finish his recap, so I'll put it up for you! - Melinama

Enzo and Vins are grumbling via cellphone about communist Pancho, who for some reason cares that many people will lose their livelihood if his plan to expand the business falls apart (evidently they've run out of money mid-project). Panch himself drives up to Avon and Vins hops out of the car to follow him and dive into the same elevator at the last second.

In the Elevator Vins taunts Pancho like a kid. They bicker like boys in front of the sign that says "the company for women." They take off their jackets and throw some of those Univision patently fake punches. Pancho bleeds from the mouth but gives Vins a quick knee to the crotch and a fist to the face.

Haha, their little fake fight cheered them both up. They immediately straighten each other's suit jackets (so cute!) and look like normal for the people standing outside the elevator (except for the blood dripping out of their noses).

Beto is back in apocalipsis mode. Everyone is in the meeting. At the meeting, everyone's fretting over the injuries, but the two children play it off. Pancho's solution for the liquidity problem is to borrow money from a bank. The rest of the participants are stunned! Beto declares him a genius! Only Rebe has the idea that that's what businesses do.

Vins: CARAY. He and Pancho almost come to blows again, but sandra shows up just in time with a plate of cookies for each. More chocolate, less war!

Temo has a scene, with his hair in full something-about-mary mode... que bonita es el amors. but the kiss. BAAARF

Now Lupita is looking ill, and even worse, she is starting to accept the idea that Freddy might be ok. Melinama is delighted with Freddy shows up at Casa Los Lopez with a uniformed big Banda Los Recoditos, swaying in unison in brightly colored uniforms, and two singers! The maids are both swooning! Freddy really scores some points, especially with music-lover Ana.

The band is really cute after the song; the singer asks for maybe a sandwich or a game of soccer. Freddy to Ana: the only important thing is that you smile.

Pina has something in the works... she's trying to set up a dinner with Vins. Vins tries to get out of it with the normal excuses.

Candy is ready to set her own apocalypse into acting, waiting anxiously at the corner for Vince to drive up. Just as he turns up she pretends to be happily chatting with somebody and then grabs him and kisses him wildly as Vince looks on aghast.

This is her "first love" who's now just a really good-looking friend helping her make Vince mad so he'll reject her (this is the promise she made to Preggers Pina).

Vins tells her to go to hell. She falls to pieces, then calls Pina to say the deed is done. Pina whispers to herself: everything's falling into place.

Candy goes home and runs to Lupita for consolation, and the girl steps up to the plate (literally), coming down to dinner for the first time since she was widowed.

The doorbell rings, Pancho answers it (expecting an apoogetic Vins), but instead gets "Menso," ie Rinaldi. Enzzo is a) is peeved about the constant mispronunciations and b) wants to see Chela. Pancho: aghast again.

Whoah! Menso is coming to throw some dogs at Chela and admits as much to Pancho. They yell at each other. Pancho doesn't think he has good intentions. Chela shows up and she yells at Pancho. He came for me, so don't you think I should choose whether he can come in?

Aww, Pina gets shot down again. She greets Vins with a rose in her mouth, and he tells her it's a bunch of silliness. I hope she just tears him up! She's bullied him into a dinner, but he's finnicky... he keeps wishing she'd stop smiling (he kinda knows something's up) and she's enjoying it.

Pina, very excited about her powerful piece of news, doesn't let herself be discouraged by Vince's rejections. When he says he's going upstairs to be alone, she insists he eat or he won't get the news that will change his life. When he refuses, she threatens cheerfully to take away your stocks. She keeps reminding him not to call her Josefina. Instead he calls her Pinis.

Finally she gets him in his chair, gets Ado to pour the wine (which pregnant women shouldn't drink) for a toast. By this time Vince can't take it any more and gets up to leave. He's almost gone when she says "You're going to be a papa." We watch his slow-mo dizzy twirling faint.

Desperate to get the ecstatic reaction she'd hoped for, Pina begs: Image a mini-Pini with long blond hair, with my face, imagine her telling you you're the handsomest pop. Instead of ecstatic, he looks a bit constipated and demands furiously: who gave you permission to get pregnant? lol. He firmly tells her he hasn't wanted (loved/cherished) her for a long time, that their marriage is in a hole and he's going to sleep in the guest room. She's crushed and, sobbing, blames this all on his being Candy's lover.

Back at los Lopez, Chela rushes away from the dining table to save Enzzo from Pancho's harangue. She tells Pancho to stuff it. She sweetly tells Enzo: she can't hang with him right this moment, it's dinner time, but she'll see him at the gym. I bet she will, ;)

Chela and Pancho yell at each other. She admits she likes Enzo. Pancho's the picture of spitting indignation remembering all the awful stunts Enzzo the Pesketeer has pulled. She's utterly furious at Pancho's childish and self-centered idea that she's doing this just to make him jealous (of course, to be fair, last time she invented a suitor for exactly that reason).

He stupidly tells Rebe (who calls mid-scene) about all this trouble, and she's very displeased to hear him sounding jealous, and reminds him she never wants to hear this blah-blah-blah about Chela, and hangs up. Great, now he's in trouble with both of them.

Chela goes to the dining room and announces to everybody that she likes Transeti. There's a lot of yelling but the best of them say she can live her life as she pleases. She's in empowered mode, it must be the new clothes and schooling. All the kids swiftly turn to Chela's side. Even Temo points the finger at Pancho: "You made my aunt cry. That's not what you taught me."

I'm glad you mentioned "The Company for Women". If it's a company for women, then why was there only one woman at the meeting? Sorry if that is a subject that was already talked to death earlier. I'm not sure what has or has not been discussed.

I liked the Banda scene. Having never seen the Fraudie side of Freddie, I like him and I hope he wins the girl.

I'm still completely torn with Pina. Yes, she deserves to be angry and I guess she did have the right to lay into Candy, but I don't see her as the long suffering "did everything for my man" wife. Last night didn't she say to Vince that if he kept calling her Josefina she would take his shares away? I don't know the full history, but it feels like Vince was more her pet and she held money over his head and that's why he never left. She can say it's love, but it doesn't sound like it. And now she wants to turn her baby into a Mini-pini?

I love all the different registers Arath uses when he says his lines and his laugh makes me grin...but again, I haven't been watching very long.

Thank you Ezra for his great recap.Oh, Pina I feel so sorry for her. Sara-Pina married Vins when they were both young. He is the love of her life, her first love. That's why she can't beleive he doesn't love her anymore. He has been having affairs for years now. You could feel the pain of Pina last night. You could really see the pain in her face and the sobbing. I don't like the way he grabbed her chin when he told her he didn't love her anymore. Vins looked like he was about to pass out when he found out Pina is pregnant. I think Pina will get her revenge, everything is in her name after all.

That Damian that Candy was kissing was so handsome. It was nice he went along with it, but poor Candy. I know she knew Vins was married but I really thought she wouldn't do the deed with him until he seperated from Pina. I think Candy and Vins really love each other. Now they will both pay the consequences.

The nerve of Pancho. Really!!! He wanted Chela to move on with her life, and now that she is trying he wants to stand in her way. I am glad Chela stood up to Pancho and the whole family. She has slowly transformed herself and now Pancho puts his foot down. I don't think Pancho is jealous, he feels he has to protect her, but still let Chela make her own decisions. She has better judgement than Candy did. I really love that she called Enzzo by his name and even corrected Pancho when he kept calling him Transetti lol. Even Rebe asked him on the phone if he was jealous that Chela had found someone.

Loved the Banda scene too and that Freddy called Ana "Mi Amor". He is really serious about Ana. I think now I will stop calling him Frauddie. I think he is also changing.

Glad Lupe joined the family for dinner and that she is so wise beyond her years even before the death of Alex. Lupe really gave it to Pancho too. I am glad she stood up for Chela as did Pepe.

I can't wait for tonight's episode. In the previews Chela and Enzzo kiss. I can't wait for that.

I'm looking forward to it too! Tho I was impressed with Enzo's technique. The advance wasn't too flattering.

Again... C'mon y'all, In real life, how many times have a woman got pregnant to save a relationship. It happened back in the day, more than it happens now.

We got Oprah now, and Oprah says, if the man don't want you, "leave him the hell alone then". Go buy a new outfit, and head down to the club and get you another man.

The movie, "How Stella Got Her Groove Back" deals with loosing a man after a long relationship. If this telenovela is representative of the modern day Latin culture, they don't get Oprah, Dr. Phil, or Racheal Ray shown in their TV market.

Other tell me how to live shows like; "The View", and "The Talk" has no spanish translation either. This TN is an escape from reality show, because many of the plot line, seems to go backward in time. Not many women today will get pregnant to keep a man...

Ok, with that being said, I was upset that Queen Violeta did not have any segments, last night. I did not tune in until 7:10, so maybe I missed her.

Chela & Enzo is a joke, because who would want to date someone that had you and your family thrown out of your house. *side note, Chela is cute and sexy, Rebe may have good reasons to be mad with Poncho. (I love the way Rebe talks with her hands, when making a point).

What is the actress real name that plays Violeta? I need to see if see has a photo layout on the Web, like Rebe (Mayrin).

By the way, good recap, CC3,has it just about the way you recap, except,CC3 says Pina calls the un-born child a "creature". Who refers to an un-born as a creature...Go Figure

Anon 11:54, "criatura" is a very common way to refer to a fetus in Spanish.

I just have to say Anon #1, Enzzo was kicking out Pancho and his family on orders from Fernanda, so she could get Pancho to work for her and move into her house. He told this to Vins and Arnold the other night.

Thanks Chapel Hill,
CC3 spelled it like it sounds... creature

Thanks for doing the recap.

I really enjoyed Chela setting Pancho straight, and the kids backing her up. I think that was the first time I ever liked Temo, when he reproachfully said that making auntie cry isn't good manners.

Really, could Pancho have been more rude, not only to Enzo but to Chela? All that yelling and insulting and hovering over them like a vulture while they tried to talk...how exactly does he think he has the moral high ground here?

The band was great. I wonder what shenanigans were going on during the filming...a few of the musicians were having a really hard time trying not to laugh. Kudos to Freddie for paying attention...okay, Ana doesn't like flowers, what DOES she like? Music. Well done, Fred.

Great recap Ezra. I also enjoyed the banda scene a lot. Good job Freddie. I also like that Lupe was up and about, and still being the most level-headed person in the family.

Sara- Vince was the one who put all the property in Pina's name for a reason we don't know (probably to cover his own fraudulent activities). And it was only the other day when he and Inez brought Pina into their scheme to get more Avon shares. She has never used the fact that the properties/money are hers as a weapon before. And it's only been recently that she has had the shares as a weapon, but she really leaves the biz stuff in Vince's hands. Although Vince has been hesitant to divorce her because he would lose his money, we have never seen Pina make that threat. She is really in love with him and values her marriage and the vows she took so long ago.

Anon 1- I would love to think that women around the world have gotten to the point when they realize that they don't need to be with a man who doesn't love and value them, but I hear stories everyday that prove that isn't true, and I've heard of plenty of rocky couples who thought a baby would solve their problems. It doesn't surprise me one bit that in a more conservative culture, like Mexico, where marriage (especially Church marriage) is seen as a sacred thing, that a woman like Pina, and of her generation, would work so hard to hang on to it. Actually, as I'm writing this, I remember one of my best friends from high school who is Mexican. He dad had multiple affairs, two that ended up with out of wedlock children, and my friend's very sensible mother stayed with her father. They've been married 40 years and have 5 kids.

Madelaine- Enzo was trying to kick Pancho and his family out even before Fernanda came into their lives. Fernanda then had Enzo speed up his eviction process to pressure Pancho into the presidency, but their bad blood with Enzo precedes that.

Thanks Ez, I truly enjoy your recaps and your clever way of describing events.

The banda scene rocked. Those guys are really good. They sounded perfectly in tune the whole time.

I'm not sure why I enjoyed watching Chela light into Pancho. Maybe because of all his rude yelling as Julia pointed out.

It's painful watching Pina work through her anguish. Early on in this show it was intimated that she is a very bright woman and her role models included Margaret Thatcher and I can't remember who else but it was impressive. I want to see her get rid of Vince and start doing things for herself.

Oh, and great title!

Thanks Vivi, I had forgotten about Enzzo trying to kick out Pancho and his family before Fernanda had him speed it up. Enzzo has been so nice lately, I had forgotten lol.

Thank you Vivi. I did not know this information and as I've said, I don't have the stamina to go back and read recaps.

While I'm not sure where I stand with Pina, I lovelovelove the way she is being played. Daniela Castro (right?) is doing a great job. I just adore her "amors".

Not a problem Sara. I was actually always surprised that Pina never really used the threat of taking his money to scare Vince straight. She really adores the big jerk. I so want her to kick him to the curb and become the fab, successful star she is so capable of becoming. She has such a big personality; it's perfect for the spotlight. She needs to stop letting Vince stifle her light, and break out on her own.

Well if this show really is going to last til October there will be plenty of time for that to happen lol.

Thanks Ezra, and thanks Good Mom Melinama for finishing it up and posting it.

Aghast again is going to be one of my all-time favorite titles.

Daniela Castro is doing an amazing job of being simultaneously comic and tragic. She makes me laugh and breaks my heart, all in one sequence. Candy and Vins seem very lightweight in comparison, but that makes them a better match, I guess.
