Abismo de pasión #14 3/29/12: Elisa gets some hope, Gabino cops a grope, Augusto’s still a dope.
Tonight: Florencia Landucci calls Fina from Mexico City. Fina is unnaturally pleasant and insists that Flo call her Alfonsina, not Senora Alacrán, err, Arango, and to tutear her. They’re both so darn excited about the upcoming boda! (Yuck my teeth hurt.) Flo’s looking for Damian who is not around. She wonders if he’s planning to come to the DF. Dunno, Fina will have him call when he gets home. Flo tells dad she didn’t get a hold of Damian but she spoke to mom who sends Papa Landucci many warm greetings, nudge nudge wink wink.
Carmeany is on the verge of telling her huge mentira to Elisa but Disgusto shuts her up, he is the only one who has the right to tell her! But does he? Nope, he just says Elisa reminds him too much of her mother. Wimp. Elisa doesn’t believe him. How could this cause his indifference toward her? She is his daughter! He rebuffs her and leaves her pitifully crying and calling for her papa. I hope he eats a hundred habaneros tonight and enjoys his morning tomorrow. Poor Elisa, she’s still a little girl at times.
Augusto and Carmeany have a fight about him not telling Elisa. Car says Elisa is a woman, not a little girl, she should hear the “truth”. Augusto says he doesn’t know if Elisa has Rosendo’s blood, the only thing he knows is that he is a coward. (Damn straight estupido!!) He prefers to live in doubt even though this doubt is killing him slowly (for the past 15 years, a$$hat). He doesn’t want to lose Elisa like he lost Stef so he lives with the hope that she is his daughter. Dude, get a paternity test!! Carmeany continues her onslaught, Stef doesn’t look a bit like Augusto! He retorts neither does she look like Rosendo. Augusto tells Medusa that one word from her to Elisa and he will kick her out of the house. Why wait I say.
Back in the DF in a super luxe house some guy tells Flo he’s happy about her upcoming marriage because the Arangos are loaded. OMG, it’s Luigi Lombardi from La Fea!! Cool, I like Sergio Mayer, I wonder if he will be good or bad in this one? But I digress, he is Paolo Landucci, Flo’s uncle, and seems kinda slimy. Flo insists she is madly in love with Damian, money has nada to do it. He wonders about her hooking up with a millionaire who lives in the middle of nowhere. No prob, she says, they won’t be living there, and no, they don’t intend to ask MamArango about it either. He asks for a loan. She doesn’t want to cough up money AGAIN but he manages to weasel some out of her for his very young date. Last time...promise. (NOT!)
Antonia tells Damian he’s changed a lot (which is why she can no longer tutear him). He used to be a simple kid but now he’s an elegant man. She mentions about mom sending him away to separate him from Elisa. He says he never forgot Elisa, there are things one can never forget, but he tried to stop thinking of her because it hurt less. “La niña Elisa,” he whispers, with a pensive smile on his face.
Night falls. Begoña and her little sprouts visit Fina at the big house. Begoña thinks Enrique should go upstairs and play with Damian. Enrique stalls (remember they never liked each other) but the moms push so...
Damian doesn’t recognize Ricky right off the bat and acknowledges they weren’t the greatest of friends, but the guys are civil. Ricky comments Elisa turned out to be a real knockout, too bad about her rotten reputation, eh? And she hangs out with Gael all the time who acts like he owns her. Damian suggest they’ve just been friends for a long time. “Where there’s smoke there’s fire*,” retorts Enrique.
Lolita finds Elisa crying outside. She thinks it’s because Damian didn’t recognize her but no, Elisa says she can’t stand living with dad and creepy crazy tia, she wants to get out of this place! Lolita asks why doesn’t she? When Elisa gets married she can start her own family. Elisa sadly states that’s never going to happen because nobody takes her seriously. What about Gael? asks Lolita. Aw, he’s my best friend, like my brother, insists Elisa. Lolita tells her she’s not sure Gael feels that way. Elisa moons about Damian and asks what would he see in a village girl (pueblerina) like her? She tearfully admits he’s the handsomest guy she’s ever seen in her life.
Damian and Ricky go downstairs where Dam is the height of chivalry, re-meeting Begoña and telling her of course he remembers her, she is unforgettable. (Eh? He must have seen her beauty mask. That was pretty unforgettable.) Ricky’s daughter Sabrina gets one look at Damian and jumps up to give him a welcome kiss before mama Begoña reels her back in. Begoña talks about Damian returning to work to head up La Anita which makes Fina a little touchy. She kicks out the visitors so she and Damian can “eat and catch up”. Dam wants to call Florencia and this is the second time that Fina pulls him away from returning her call. Mami dearest is kind of a control freak, no?
Back in the noise and lights of the DF, Flo gripes about not being able to get in touch with Damian. Pops says they probably don’t have good cell coverage there. Exactly, that’s why I called his mother’s house, she responds. Pops says well maybe he’s still out with his old pals having a good time. Precisely, Flo retorts, he’s out having a good time and not thinking about me, boo hoo. More conversation reveals that Pops was late for their dinner reservation because of a “little work problem” that he doesn’t want to discuss. Also, Tio Paolo cancelled on them and insists on acting like an adolescent with his constant flirtations.
Cut to Paolo in some hotel room with his current project, name of Kenia. He wants to get down to business but she’s not comfortable with his reputation as a womanizer. (Honey, you are naked and in bed and NOW you have this conversation with him?) She wants to make sure he’s not just playing with her. He promises to meet her mother next week, “but let’s just get the boinkage out of the way now, eh chiquita? “
Gael visits Elisa to make sure those street brats didn’t bother her any more. She says she’s used to defending herself after all these years. He says truthfully he’s come to talk to her about her dad...
Lolita and Antonia run into each other on the church steps where Antonia nastily asks if Lolita was praying for a husband, then she snipes that she hopes Lolita is enjoying her single life. Lolita coolly responds that if she wanted a good match she could have one, but luckily for Antonia she prefers to remain single for now. Antonia bitches about Lolita staying away from Braulio, HER husband and the father of HER son. Lolita calmly tells Tonia not to worry, she’s not like Tonia; she does not make a habit of stealing other women’s men.
While this is happening Braulio brings a report to Gabino in his office. Brau says it’s late and shouldn’t Gabino be heading home? Brau says Gab should have a woman at his side, someone to go home to. Gab the sadist invites Brau to take a seat and smarmily tells him he’s got plenty of women. Brau wonders where he’s hiding them. Gab says there is one in particular and he’s sure Brau knows her, but he won’t kiss and tell. Poor Braulio hasn’t a clue he’s the mouse in this big cat’s little game. Gab brags he’s got PLENTY of women, but there is one is particular that he’s on the point of getting, he has always liked her. Well good luck with that then, says Braulio good naturedly. Ouch, that scene hurt.
Carmeany puts her big bubbly pink poppers in Augusto’s face and tells him she wants to go dancing. “No money,” he grumbles. “Well then we can take a romantic walk through town,” she giggles insanely. “I’m tired,” he grumbles. “Well then let me dry hump you for fun!” Grumble grumble grumble. She says she’s never met a more boring man in her life. (Ding, ding, ding! Give the girl a gold star.) He always took Stef to cool places and bought her jewelry but he never touches or kisses Carmeany, only rejection. More of her usual griping, same old same old. She spitefully growls that he will always be the greatest love of her life. Egad these two are pathetic.
Begoña and the sprouts get home and brag to papa that they were just at Hacienda Arango to welcome Damian home. Doc gives his daughter a warm welcome and then sneers that Enrique and Dam were never friends, right? So why the visit? Mom hems and haws and Dad just looks disgusted. Enrique, in a vain attempt to impress papa, proudly announces that tomorrow he starts his new job at the procesadora. “No me digas,” Doc suspiciously responds, “and how did you get that job?” Poor clueless Ricky thinks it was because of his education and resume. Dad snidely says he hopes Ricky works harder at this job than the others that didn’t work out for him in Guadalajara. And we have yet another dysfunctional family in La Ermita.
Over at the yerberia Ramona is in a rage because Paloma got a job with Doc Tovar. Paloma doesn’t understand why Ramona is so mad about this. Is it because she’s working for a medical doctor? Precisely, says Ramona, she doesn’t want Paloma picking up bad habits from that medicucho...plus she’s afraid that she (Ramona) will pale in comparison when Paloma sees what the doc can do. Paloma says she’s very proud of her granny for everything she does and knows, and gives her a sweet hug. She loves her granny a lot. Ramona is surprised, “You never said that to me before.” “But I’m saying it now abuela, I love you mucho.”
Gael growls (maybe it’s just his voice) that Elisa’s father has problems. He (Gael) proposed improvements to the biz but Aug doesn’t want to hear it. Gael goes on to say he knows Ugh is sensitive about Stef’s land but it is Elisa’s land too, her inheritance, and Gael hates to see the land barren and unused. Ugh always says he won’t cultivate the land for monetary problems, but Gael doesn’t buy that excuse. Now Elisa is getting excited, she’ll investigate to see if she really does inherit the land. She runs off leaving Gael alone and wishing he could escort her home.
Gabino swaggers up the steps of Rancho Castañon and rings the bell. Carmeany rushes out, shocked at his boldness. They sneak away to hide and talk. Away from the house they whisper that they need to meet somewhere more private. Gabi clicks his tongue and suggests the little house they know so well. Oho, Elisa has returned home and hears their plans to meet early tomorrow morning. She runs up, missing the chance to ID Gabino, and asks who was Auntie talking to? “What did you hear?” demands Tia. Elisa says nada and Tia says it was just about business and dad was already in bed. Elisa tells Tia that she knows she’s hiding something and she wants to know what it is. Tia’s big crazy eyes pop out bigger than her boobies and she demands solitude.
Over at Hacienda Haranguo Fina asks Damian how it went with his old pal Enrique, they were such good childhood friends. Not really, says Dam, mom knows his best friends were Gael and Elisa. Oh right, says Mom, and have you seen them? He says Elisa was the first person he saw when he got into town. He was struck by her beauty. “Have you talked to your girlfriend?” asks mom, changing the subject, “call her right away.”
Back in the DF Uncle Paolo has gotten his rocks off and is already back at the bar picking up two more hotties. Uh oh, big brother sees him and scolds him for leaving the office early. Again. Paolo excuses himself so he and big bro can talk. Guido tells lil bro that the business is having big problems and he needs Paolo’s help. Paolo points out he’s not good at business. Guido says when their parents died he promised to take care of Paolo as if he were his own son, but he’s tired of “keeping” Paolo and paying him a salary for not working. Basically Paolo is a parasite.
Paolo brings up Damian and notes that this rich kid will make a great marriage for his niece and could solve all their problems. Guido denies this motivation but Paolo says don’t act stupid, their future depends on the generosity of Guido’s old and dear friend, Alfonsina Arango. Oh I DO hope that Paolo gets to meet Alfonsina. That ought to roast his overactive habaneros.
Otra vez la burra al trigo**. Carmeany slinks into Grumpy’s office and tries to lure him to bed. They talk about the difficulty of selling his peppers to Santa Maria. She suggests maybe they can change clients. “Not that easy” he grumbles. She says the Arangos are very unfair for not buying his peppers. “Life takes many funny turns, (muchas vueltas) ” she says optimistically.
Elisa recalls and considers Gael’s words about replanting Stef’s lands. She remembers a happier time when she strolled the greenhouse with Stef and they proudly inspected their superior habaneros. Their habaneros aren’t just for salsa, mom says, they are used medicinally for curing infections, depression, stomach problems, a mountain of things. Stef hopes one day they can export their peppers all over the world. “Gael is right!!” exclaims Elisa with renewed hope. Shoot, that scene almost made me cry.
Next morning Antonia brings breakfast to Damian and is surprised that he doesn’t seem interested in the Procesadora. She says all the habaneros are blooming and are beautiful. Why doesn’t he ask his old friend Gael to give him a tour? Gael is now working for Don Augusto and knows the area better than anyone. Damian says surely Gael won’t remember him. Antonia scoffs and mentions that Gael tried to call him when he was in Italy. Funny, says Damian, he never got any calls or letters from anyone. Not possible says Tonia, Gael wanted to call because he claimed Damian never answered any of their letters. However she couldn’t allow him to call from their house because Tonia was afraid Fina would fire her. “Where is my mother now?” demands Damian, with a look of growing awareness on his face.
Elisa goes down to breakfast and tells Lolita she couldn’t sleep all night. Last night by chance she found Carmeany with a man outside. She doesn’t know who the man was but it was weird because she heard them say they would rendezvous in a place they both knew very well. She understands that dad and Tia don’t get along, but it’s not right that Tia sneak out either. Elisa says she won’t say anything to dad because he won’t believe her anyway so she’s going to investigate things for herself.
Gael is in the habanero field when he sees Damian arrive with a smile on his face. Damian looks happy and hopeful, Gael not so much.
Avances: Confrontations! Rivalries! Damian and Gael confront each other. Then they shake hands. Are they going into battle or agreeing to renew their friendship?
Dichos of the Day:
*Cuando el río suena, agua lleva = where there’s smoke there’s fire (Lit. when the river is noisy, it’s because the water is flowing)
**Otra vez la burra al trigo - she’s doing the same old thing (Lit. once again the she-donkey goes for the wheat)

I liked your:
My teeth hurt,
Why wait, I say,
Eh? He must have seen her beauty mask,
Honey, you're naked and in bed, and NOW you have this conversation,
and,
Well then let me dry hump you for fun.
I wonder what will catch Damian's interest and cause him to consider the processing plant.
Gabino sure is a sleaze. Braulio seems quite a bit bigger than him. Is he sure he wants to taunt him?
Damian and Gael - guess the arm wrestling scene says it all.
Thanks for a fun and funny rip through this episode.
David
Speaking of whom, one thing struck me last night was that the relationship between Highlights and Dweeb isn't all animosity like we've seen in the last couple episodes. Seems like there must be some horizontal action going on, though not enough for Hot Pants. And the scene in the office was pretty civil, they talked like a normal married couple. Very scary actually.
Saw that lightbulb coming on over Damian's head after talking to Tonia. Still head-scratching how letters could get intercepted--does his mother own the post office? had to laugh when he showed up at the end to see Gael-they really made a point of presenting Damian as the polar opposite of Gael ( at this point anyway). Those sunglasses!
Not liking Enrique for some reason. I get a "don't trust him" vibe. The daughter I'm betting is going to get all into Damian and cause problems. But I kind of like the smarmy uncle Paolo. Comic relief and maybe someone who is going to yank Fina's chain. I can go with that.
I would love for Elisa to take that land that her parental unit won't farm and ask if she can do something with it, and then have it be a boon with Gael's help. (Is it wrong of me to want that guy to just make an enormous success for himself and show everyone up? )
I had my EWWWW moment with Highlights and Dweeb last night, but we may have to now deal with her and Gab tonight? Bleh! And why is Gab now all about Tonia...did his little shriveled heart realize she was "the one"? And I really didn't understand TOnia's in your face to Lolita. 15 years later girl you are still justifying this? Tonia went down a few pegs with me on that.
So tonight it's "Let the Rivalry begin". Heck with "take the gloves off" to start the fussing and fighting...I say "Take the Shirt off" and let's get going!
Such a wonderfully snarky recap. I love all the lines David pointed out.
I really like the direction Elisa is taking. If Stefi's land is hers, I would love to see her become a successful rancher, with Gael's help.
Tonia was always kind of snotty/underhanded about her pursuit of Brau, even when he was Lolita's. I think it was her insecurity in probably knowing that Lolita was/is Brau's biggest love that made her so bitchy to Lolita. Plus, if Brau finds out the kid is not his, her whole house of cards crumbles-- no husband, reputation in town will be shot, and Alfi would probably fire her for appearances sake. I love how cool Lola was during that whole confrontation.
As for the letters, all Alfi would have had to do was tell the boarding school, don't deliver any letters to my son that are not from me, and don't mail any letters from him that aren't to me. Easy.
The Laducci's look like they will shake up not just Damian's world, but Alfi's as well. Both brothers might make a play for her...for the money. However, Flo's dad seems to really like Alfi, and Flo seems to really love Damian. I want them all to come to La Ermita! Bwahaha!
Damian has a really subtle dry humor. When he called Begonia "unforgettable", I heard the irony in his voice, which no one else in the room picked up on, except probably Alfi. Heard it also when he told Ricky that they weren't bffs as kids(meaning, I hated your guts back then). I also don't think he believes the worst of Elisa. He was defending her to Ricky.
I hope Gael gives him a chance and doesn't let his jealousy over Elisa, and his anger over Damian not being in touch all these years cloud his judgment.
Augusto’s still a dope.
amen to that sister!!
and vivi, i think in the flash previews i saw Damian and Gael shake hands after Gael claimed Damian never wrote back or contacted them... so Damian must be coming clean/clear with Gael tonight and explain he tried to write/contact them... that is my take from the previews.
ita with:
I love how cool Lola was during that whole confrontation.
such a cool way to say 'better alone decent than with company you stole...'
yes i saw that too... and his defending Elisa to Ricky...
Fina is unnaturally pleasant and insists that Flo call her Alfonsina, not Senora Alacrán, err, Arango, and to tutear her.
(interesting this is the first character that Fina seems to be willing to 'be nice to'... )
nudge nudge wink wink. LOL!! (absolutely!)
Wimp. Is right! …the only thing he knows is that he is a coward. (Damn straight estupido!!)
nuff said, girl!
I hope he eats a hundred habaneros tonight and enjoys his morning tomorrow. Poor Elisa, she’s still a little girl at times.
With the kind of trauma she l ived at such early age, who blames her for wanting to feel like she is still a little girl and wanting him to coodle with her?
Uncle Paolo knows his people… Flo is after Fina’s money… will Flo have to move to the middle of nowhere town?… No prob, she says, they won’t be living there, and no, they don’t intend to ask MamArango about it either.
Well, Flo, you still don’t know whom you are marrying and who will be boss at your ‘house’, do you?? this should be good when Flo gets there…
Very cool that Damian defends Gael’s closeness to Elisa as ‘been friends since little kids’… and does not think badly of either of them… I have a feeling that if he comes clean with Gael about attempts to contact them, it won’t be until Gael realizes Damian falls for Elisa that the frictions and sparks will start up good… (then we will get the arm wrestling and then some!)
Gab brags (to Braulio) he’s got PLENTY of women, but there is one is particular that he’s on the point of getting, he has always liked her.
I seriously doubt he means Medusa so he must be referring to either Lolita or Fina, my money is on Fina… but Flo’s dad and Paolo will give him a run for the money when they get to town and spice up the party…
especially when Flo's family business seems to be going downhill from the conv Paolo and her dad had...
And let's not forget: "Tía's big crazy eyes pop out bigger than her boobies". Brilliant!
So far I'm really liking the way the jump forward has been handled and I'm enjoying the actors very much.
I like the writing too. It's true we have the good:
(Estefanía, Elisa, Padre Guadaloupe, Gael, Paloma, Damián, Ramona, Braulio, Lolita, Lucio, Blanca)
the beyond redemption bad:
(Alfonsina, Carmina and Gabino)
the bad who weren't always bad but have caused so much suffering they might as well have been:
(Rosendo and Disgusto)
and the morally ambiguous:
(Antonia, victim who shows her claws, Doc Tovar who chose to hide the truth about Carmina's "premature" baby, who is ethically-challenged professionally, but who hasn't really declared himself in general terms.)
Then there are the various lightweights with a sense of entitlement:
(Begoña and the sprouts, the Landucci clan... undoubtedly there will be more and the Landucci brothers will be more fully fleshed out.)
I really enjoy the play of light and dark. It's not going to be one of those dour melodramas that just leave the viewer depressed. And it looks like the comic relief may actually be comical and not just an excuse to use the Fast Forward control on the remote.
I absolutely can not imagine Alfonsina's armor cracking, even with pressure from the Landuccis (either or both brothers). But I can't wait to see them try.
Vivi, here's hoping they all go to La Ermita; that town could use some shaking up.
Marta, "better alone decent than with company you stole", that's a great way of summing the situation up. Lolita was around when Gabino seduced Antonia and everyone in town was talking about it. I wonder if she has ever suspected that Tonia's kid is Gabino's instead of Braulio's?
daisynjay, re: Enrique, I don't have a good feel for him yet. So far I've seen a kid who is desperately trying to please his father but to no avail. Last night we learned he has been unable to keep a job and that he and Damian didn't get along as children. Other than that he seems like an OK guy. I'm wondering WHY Doc Tovar is so hard on the kid. Maybe he was a creepier little kid and wastrel youth than we've learned so far? At any rate, I think he being set up as another rival for Damian.
David, I'm also wondering what will attract Damian to the procesadora. Last night he was notably uninterested. I wouldn't mind a couple of flashbacks to those great scenes with him and dad.
Whatever happened to those plane tickets? Are they still in the desk?
Novela Maven, I agree that so far the writing is just super. I'm also enjoying watching how the teams fall into place. Damian and Gael's friendship/rivalry has the potential to be very interesting. Best buds as kids so a deep love there (I hope), rivals for Elisa, and if Gael manages to help get Elisa's production off the ground then they will both be important to the town's economy.
great point Sylvia!! in that sense they will be 'equals' in Elisa's eyes... Gael handling a business closer to her, even if Damian's business is higher scope/bottom line...
I really hope Damian, even if he falls for Elisa and they get together, will have the sense to acknowledge that Gael has been there for her, defending her and showing face for her all these years and will not push him away as a plague.
ROFLOL!! Stop it!! You made me choke on a lemon cookie! … good thing I had not taken a sip of coffee yet. I would never have come up with that one!
Pathetic couple indeed!
And ‘Begoña and the sprouts’… ‘And we have yet another dysfunctional family in La Ermita.’ Amen to that sister!
Tia’s big crazy eyes pop out bigger than her boobies … those huge eyes with the black eyeliner seemed she was done and ready for halloween!! All I could see was the glowing white of her popping eyes and her teeth!! LOL!!
Oh I DO hope that Paolo gets to meet Alfonsina. That ought to roast his overactive habaneros.
ROFLOL!!
“Gael is right!!” exclaims Elisa with renewed hope. Shoot, that scene almost made me cry.
Ditto. SOMETHING to give Elisa a smile and hope for future !...
**Otra vez la burra al trigo -… first time I heard that was Mark T himself saying it in LHDM in one of the funniest scenes there (Fer: …antro-pellemos a este!) right after one of the nastiest (Fran to Soto: …te pregunte que fue lo que dijiste! A mi mujer la respetas, cabr__!!).
Elisa may be the heir to Estefania's land*.
Digusto still craves a connection to Estefania which is why he won't kick Elisa to the curb even though she's Rosendo's kid.**
Antonia is very insecure about her marriage to Braulio (and Braulio thinks everything is just fine). Antonia must have played some dirty tricks and games to snag Braulio...even though Lolita dumped him, they may have been able to reconcile before Tonita got in the way.
Damian is attracted to Elisa and Alfie knows it. So while she was lukewarm on Flo, she'll be full fledged Team Flo to get rid of Elisa.
Flo's family is having problemas de dinero and see Damian as an ATM.
Flo is insecure about Damian's past connections/friends in the pueblo.
Alfonsina shut off any form of communication b/w Damian and the pueblo except communication from her.
Enrique & Damian were not friends as kids. Look for this to continue as adults.
Dr. Tovar doesn't have a high opinion of his son for some reason. Yet didn't he set up his daughter with a beauty salon? Why couldn't he have done that for Enrique? Or is Enrique really his son? (Nah, Begona would have gossiped on herself)
*I wonder if Abuelo Bouvier gave the lands 100% to Estefania or 50/50 to Estefania & Carmina?
**We all know Elisa is NOT Rosendo's kid and Disgusto knows that deep down too IMO. It's just easier to punish Elisa for looking like Estefania if he can believe she's not his child.
Enrique & Damian were not friends as kids. Look for this to continue as adults.
i wonder if that will put Ricky and Gabino on same team vs Dam.
is Enrique really his son? (Nah, Begona would have gossiped on herself)
ROFLOL!! good one!
i agree. i think he knows she is his kid but just because of the slight chance Carmina is right he won't take the chance to be totally devastated if he finds out she is not his kid.
I think Gabino is after higher stakes than Antonia - maybe Carmina. He tried Alfonsina but was rejected as beneath her dignity.
Why, oh why, doesn't Augusto get a DNA sample and have a paternity test done?!? Maybe the time frame of this telenovela is before they were readily available? After all, have we seen any cell phones? Telephones? SUVs? Computers or Internet? Maybe that's why Damian couldn't text or email his mom to tell her he's coming home …. erm… 'Mom… I sent you a letter via Pony Express but apparently the horse ate it.'
DID ANY OF YOU EVER WATCH "FULL HOUSE" back in the 1980s? Begonia always makes me think of DJ's friend, Kimmy Gibler. Ack.
Does grown-up Elisa own any tops that button higher than her waist??? I'm so tired of seeing the highway between her boobage…..
daisynjay - I'm getting those same "don't trust him" vibes about Enrique, too. No me cae bien.
marta i - I think Gabino wants Carmina because 1) he can have her so easily, and 2) just for plain ole nastiness.
yes, and all her skirts are shorter in front pointing up in same direction as her top, last night she had one with a bow at the center front lol... she would DIE for J-Lo's famous green dress
Kimmy from Full House, had not thought of that but you are right.
Pasofino and Doris, true Antonia doesn't really have much to offer so maybe Gabino was talking about Carmina. He was just so smug about it to Braulio that I felt he was really sticking it to our good guy. Carmina is definitely an easier target, and now that she needs Gabino for something she's willing to negotiate. But Gab has shown he still has an unhealthy interest in Antonia, probably just to torture her.
Hee, I had to look up Kimmy because I didn't remember her. The likeness is incredible. Good call.
They talked about a DNA 15 years before and Carmina brought it up again. She knows Ughusto won't do it because he's a coward. Flo called the hacienda from her cell phone but spoke to her father of the poor cell phone coverage in La Ermita being the reason why Damian (says) he's not using his. And I don't think he wanted Moomy Dearest to know he was coming home, since it's the last thing she wanted.
But like he told Carmina last night, he is 1) a coward and doesn't want to know and 2) Elisa is the last thing connecting him to Estefania. If he loses Elisa, he loses Estefania.
I wonder if Disgusto would try to block any love relationships Elisa might have, because once Elisa marries and leaves, that's it.
hmmm so many twists this could take... if Elisa and Dam start seeing each other in hiding, that would sort of follow the pattern Medusa has been planting on Toadhead about Estefania... so won't be good for Elisa... he will definitely go after Dam with a shotgun...
if Elisa and Gael start dating, well, ToadHead might be against it just because ... just because... like you said, it would be losing Este all over again...
if ToadHead keeps thinking Elisa is Rosendo's child he will DEFINITELY have reason against Elisa/Dam having any relationship...
then i wonder if the Gael origin fact would come out to spoil the Elisa/Gael situation as well...
If Disgusto doesn't think to impede Elisa's plans then Carmeany most certainly will. She is cruel and crazy enough that sticking it to Elisa is the only excuse she needs.
