Weekend Discussion: Crimes of Fashion

One of the things inciting constant comment here is the fashion felonies committed by many female characters in novelas (or by the fashion consultants for the shows).  It seems that femme fatale rivals and villanas are the biggest offenders, although heroines can be guilty, too.  For our purposes today we will cover the villanas, particularly since we have such a stunning example in our current prime time.

Weekend Discussion: Villains; They Who Make Our Flesh Crawl

Dirty Dozen # 5 The Sleazebags

These are the evil men who are not accepted in polite society.  They mostly lack the social skills and the minimally acceptable-to-excellent appearance of their higher-born and higher-educated brethren in evil.  They normally cannot enter parlours or drawing rooms.  They usually dress badly, are often less than hygienic, and usually have no family ties or any other kind other than to their paymasters who are usually the mastermind villains.  They happily do all the low-level tasks the others are unwilling to do as long as they are paid for it.  They sometimes initiate evil acts of their own, but frequently they aren't clever enough to always assess risk vs. reward.  They are usually expendable once their dirty work is done, but sometimes clever enough to outwit their masters.

Who is the most evil of them all?

Abismo de pasión #161 Gran Final 11/5/12: POR FIN!!

Prologue (by Sylvia): If anyone watched the “Rumbo”, which aired an hour before the Final, they would have been pleased to witness another heavenly visit by Guadalupe in glowing white and positioned next to the cenote, warning us: “Passion is like the wind. Able to put everything in motion. And human passions are not in plain sight. They need the warmth and locked darkness, like the bottom of an abyss, an abyss of passion.”

A bit later we get the shirtless arm wrestling at last! More or less. With the voiceover: “In a hot country like this, the sun makes your blood boil, moisture penetrates the skin, the air stifles night senses and awakens instincts. There is no respite for lovers who fall into an abyss of passion.” (But that last part about lovers, the camera had left our boys and traveled to Carmina and Rosendo. In case you were worried.)

And if you think those explanations can make up for all the craziness that Fluffy and Co. have inflicted upon us you can think again. The only thing that helps out is a rowdy happy hour out on The Patio of Lowered Expectations, watching this nonsense with a group of crazy, like-minded friends, nerfazos in hand, drinks on the table, and habanero poppers on the way. As they say at the Drive-In: And now, on with the show...

Does anyone know what happens to "Por ella soy Eva" tonight?

I know that passion pit (I chuckle to myself every time I think of that clever translation) has a big finale tonight. TV guide says Abismo for 7 to 9, but there's a big gray block between 9 and 10.

Anyone know if Eva is on tonight?

Thanks!

Abismo de pasion #160 11/2/12: Paluka, I AM Your Father! Oh, And Other Mysteries are Solved!

Love Shack!  Baby Love Shack!  Gabino dramatically grabs Paloma and sniffs her long hair.   He reveals to her that although he is only 5 years older than her and ten years older than Vincente, he is also her father.   Welcome to the most dysfunctional family EVER.  I gave you life!  Give daddy a hug!  As expected, Paloma doesn’t take the news as well as he’d hoped.  Paloma’s can’t hide the expression of distain or disgust on her face.  Paloma yells that Gabby is a liar.  You can’t be my father!  You’re a total HOTTY!  Gabby grabs her and has to physically restrain himself from performing his trademark pelvic rub on her leg.  Let me go!  Let me go, she yells!  She won’t feel pity for him like Vincente; she hopes that he rots in jail.  Gabby thinks that she’ll feel guilty for putting her father in jail.  Let me go!  Let me go, she yells!  Vincente picks up something medal and clocks Gabino in the back of the head with it.  Vincente grabs Paloma and yanks her out of the house while Gabino falls to the floor.  Gabino struggles up from the floor and jumps into a pickup truck.  The chase is on!

Abismo de pasión #159 11/1/12: La Hermita celebrates Día de Los Culpables

Refrito: Clearly Damian did not go to the Fernando Colunga school of snakebite cures. More’s the pity.

Lo Nuevo:  We're going into Día de los Muertos and we didn't get one dead person tonight! We were robbed. Oh well, on with the show...

Oh man, this is gonna be good. The Orange-Brown Recluse confronts the Black Widow in the dark yard of Hacienda Arango. She assures Alfie that Dam and Elisa are going to meet the same fate as Rosendo and Stef. Alfie calls Carmina a Dirty Rotten Ho and Carmina retaliates by explaining, in great detail, that Rosendo was always putting the horns on Alf because Alf was so lacking in the sack. Ouch! Do we think Alf is gonna back down? Oh hell no. She spits back that Carmina is guilty of killing Lupe, shooting Augusto, she has a witness, and long before the kids get back from their honeymoon Carmina’s gonna be in jail paying for all her crimes!

“Have you seen Gabino around?” asks the Recluse, “Cause he’s out taking care of business for me and you’re going to know the pain of burying your kid just like I did.” OK, that one got to Alfie.

Abismo de pasión #158 10/31/12: Ghosts of Murders past keep wrecking havoc for Carmina, but Gabino might be the one to benefit from her bad night... the Arango brothers have a nice night... Gael has a revealing morning, but Murphy's law just won't leave Elisa and Dam alone

Refrito:
At the rather chaotic wedding reception/celebration: Elisa confronts Carmina about the lies she told Augie about Elisa not being his and Carmina’s own baby not being his… Alfie urges Carmina to respond to Elisa’s statements. Carmina denies, denies, denies… Ramona says no lie, Mrs.. IIF a woman like you can be called a Mrs… Alfie goes to the punch line, tell everyone that you were my husband’s lover, not Stefie!! Carmina brings up the plane tix as proof, Alfie says I found out long ago those tickets Gabino gave me were fake!! Also, when Augie and I went back to the quinta that night, your bags were packed!! … Dam adds that he saw Rosie leave the blue house one night, quickly followed by her. Lucio adds in that the blue house was never Stefies, only Rosie’s and Carminas’. Carmina continues with her denial, denial. Ramona reminds her you can’t run from the truth or from destiny. Either you finish the story or I will do it for you…
Lo Nuevo:
Suddenly among the crowd, Carmina sees Loopy next to Elisa and Nina next to Damian and in front of Lucio urging her to ‘tell the truth’. Suddenly she turns another way and sees Augie alone staring at her and it seems to be enough… Carmina goes beserk yelling NOOO!!! Several times and runs out of the gates of the hacienda… only to have Loopy dressed with his priest attire standing by her again… just staring at her, no words… Now she is wabbling down the town center street sidewalk listening to Loopy’s words at their next to last meeting ‘divine justice does exist, Carmina’… and she is yelling to no one around her to leave her in peace… Again Nina shows up to spook her with her own final words ‘hypocrit, fake, you have no morals or decency!’ … Carmina yells she had nothing to do with her death and yells at her to shut up, keeps wabbling and running, suddenly Paolo comes in her direction and yells at her what he yelled at her before he raped her ‘I will teach you what I learned at the jail!!” … Carmina runs and ends up believing herself at the cenote… hearing Augie’s words ‘you are a good actress, but your performance is over… I now know the truth’… Carmina yells at him to shut up as she falls in the water… once in the water, she believes she is struggling again with Kenya… Carmina puts deer in the headlights eyes… suddenly she is outside her blue house and Ingrid is waiting for her outside the house to continue the spooking (so on point with tonight being Halloween)… Carmina desperate runs into the blue house only to face another ghost from crimes past… her own sister Stefie, who tells her ‘what hurts me the most, you were capable of building that lie and blame me, allowed Alfie to blame me, knowing that the guilty one was you… what kind of sister are you?’ … Carmina gets under the covers in her bed only to hear Rosie, another ghost from her crimes past… ‘I too would like for us to spend more time together, you know you have me going crazy (for you)…’ … Carmina cries saying Rosie’s name… falls on side of bed…
At another Arango house in town… Paloma is so ‘hot’ she is out of words (wow! At least Gael is giving us a break from her constant nagging by keeping her mouth busy)… Gael himself is telling Paloma not to say anything… (YES!!!) … and they get busy with their own hanky panky…‘ (seems someone wrote a song about ‘living the romance as a passion pit’ LOL…
At blue house Gabino arrives to a very scared shaken Carmina with her hair looking like someone dumped a bucket of water on her head … She tells him about the ghosts who won’t leave her in peace… and that Elisa married Damian Arango and she could not stop them…. Also that Alfie knows the plane tix he gave her are fake… He is in disbelief… Carmina tells him about everyone accusing her of all her crimes… Gabino wants to know that she did deny deny deny everything… She tells him Elisa warned her she would dig and dig the past until she found the whole truth… She can’t stand Elisa. Why didn’t I kill her? I could have drowned her in cenote like… (Gabino catches up with this ‘who did you drown at the cenote?’ and you can see his brain gears at work suddenly amongs the migrains) … Carmina keeps mumbling that Elisa’s happiness is her worse punishment/disgrace… That Elisa should not keep Damian… Gabino can’t get why it is so important for Carmina that Elisa marries Dam… Why can she be happy and I never could enjoy anything?? … Gabino swears to her that there is still a way to fix all that. That they just have to take out the problem from the root… between you and Dam you all have to forget her (Elisa) and I can help you (get rid of Elisa)… Carmina takes his word ‘are you saying you can finish her off for me?’ …Carmina is willing to give him anything in return… Gabino says… wait for it… wait for it… I want you to marry me ojitos. Deal?…  Yup. Deal. [Sealed with a sloppy kiss…]
At Arango hacienda Alfie, Lucio and Lolita are saying goodbye to Dam and Elisa and sending them off on their honeymoon… (funny how Alfie said she did not want the past to be an ‘anchor’ weight on the happy couple) Make her happy.. will miss you, son.. blah blah (for crying out loud, Get going already!!!) Elisa thanks Alfie for the party and tries to apologize for Carmina spoiling the party, Alfie says no need to apologize.
Whoa! The pickup that Dam and Elisa left on is followed by another pickup… not quite a late luxury model, it is Gabino!! … Dam wants Elisa and him to concentrate on themselves and forget the town and everything else for a while.. he has a surprise for her (the place they are heading to).
Ramona gets home… notices all the herbs and jugs missing, whispers curses for Gabino… Suddenly she gets a visitor … The black widow of LaErmita herself (wait, no, that would be Alfie)… more like the Orange female mix of Dr Lechter, JASON, Jack the ripper and Elmer Fudd… shaken, not stirred… Ramona doesn’t think they have anything to talk about… Carmina says of course we do… you were the only one that was completely certain of my guilt… but it was all a lie… Ramona says don’t even go there, don’t bother trying to fake it. You are right, I am certain of Stefie’s innocence… Carmina says Augie once told me you were there at the road the night of the accident… Yes, I was there. And I got to hear Stefie’s last words before she died… a phrase I thought was ambiguous back then and took me years to decipher, but I have it very clear now… she locked you in your room to prevent you from going with Rosie, then she caught him at the road to tell him you were not going with him, that is why they were coming toward town when the car crashed… Carmina figures out it was Ramona who had told Augie… Ramona says yeah, it was me who told him, and he could not handle the truth. Augie could not take the pain of knowing he had hated for so many years a woman who had loved him so completely… Carmina keeps blaming Ramona for her fate and warns she will prevent Ramona from fillng any more lies into anyone else… Ramona says I am ready to leave this world, but you, don’t you fear what will happen to your soul?...Carmina says I never believed in that… Ramona says living with hatred, bitterness, and cruelty is the true hell… for people without soul like you, living is a much worse punishment than death itself. (with this Carmina quietly leaves …)
And the secret honeymoon place the groom has chosen … the beach where he kidnapped her to a while back. … this time she is more willing of course… Gabino has followed them and is planning the next move.
But before they can get to hanky-panky, Elisa wants to clear up what happened at the cenote… Dam gets the wrong meaning and thinks she meant about her and Gael stopping at the cenote before the wedding, Elisa says that is not what I meant, I meant you and my aunt … she warned me about it… I never imagined in my worst nightmares that you would allow her… no I never let her… ah no? first at the stables at your hacienda, then at the cenote naked and caressing each other. I can’t erase that image from my head… ah! There it is! I now understand why you have been so miffed at me… he apologizes…  He tells Elisa the story of what happened at both the stables and at the cenote… SURPRISINGLY, Elisa believes him. He is thankful for that. Elisa feels like putting her own cards on the table too so she does clear up to him that she never was with Gael, that Dam is the first and only man in her life. She says she was very hurt and jealous of Flo and it was not until she read Flo’s letter that she understood, then she tried to explain with her kisses and caresses to him that he was her only man, he says that day he was sick and drugged, so he could not see through his jealousy of Gael. Elisa notes now you are not drugged or feverish… you are in luck, I do feel like explaining it to you all over again…  Then they get (FINALLY!!) to the hanky panky with ‘junto a ti’ as background… (Surprisingly, Univision showed more than I had expected of their wedding night scene)
Morning at beach… Elisa is at the edge of the water, Dam wakes up, gets a bit scared that he is alone, but quickly realizes she is at the beach, joins her… they get ‘going’ again….
At the other Arango lovebirds nest, things are not much different, Gael is very charming cuddly with Paloma… they share impressions of the best night since their wedding (since their wedding? I would say since forever, since the first two times it was a more one-sided affair).
Elisa nad Dam are touring the Yucatan landmarks, with the huge tourist/cruise ship docks under construction. (ok, Dam, cut the cheesy comments…  do your commercial script reciting and move on…)
Back at the beach, Gabino is buying a very tiny think venom snake (la coralillo)… he has a little picnic basket surprise for Dam/Elisa… the guy tells Gabino that you barely feel the bite… but it makes you lose your breath slowly and then the end comes… Gabino is very careful handling the picnic basket, even stretches his arm as far as he can from his body ...
meanwhile Elisa and Dam continue touring the area… (they are at ‘manglares’ which reminds me of a place in Puerto Rico just like that in the southwest town of Guayanilla) Oh, now Elisa joins ins the duet regional tourism promo pitch script…
Night of day after wedding, Paloma is cleaning up and, as her usual nosy self, she opens the folder that Loopy left Gael. Gael comes and asks her ‘what are you doing, ‘mi amor’?’ (is this first time Gael calls Paloma that way?) As he tells Paloma it is papers Loopy gave him before he died, Gael gets a nostalgic facial expression that is priceless… Paloma tells Gael that he should read the papers, it is the last will of his father … of Loopy? … no, of your father, Rosendo Arango. (Gael is confused/ surprised).
Tonia has again asked Braulio for help since Chente did not come home to sleep… She really is annoying with her whinning… Braulio suspects Chente is with Gabino who is staying at the hotel…
At the hotel, Chente is indeed in Gabinos’ room. Gabino arrives back from the road with his huge migraine which has returned… Chente wants to know where Gabino was since he was on road all day… Gabino  refuses to tell him, then tries the ‘recipe’ that Chente fixed for him, but Gabino can tell from the taste it is not the right recipe, ‘if you can’t do this then I have no use for you, I will go back with Carmina!’… Chente wants Gabino to take him with him. Gabino refuses, so Chente wants Gabino to give him one last shot at the recipe.
Gael goes to Lucio’s with the folder including the will from Rosie… Lucio is surprised that Gael has it. Loopy gave it to me before he died, he asked me not to open it (and there should be a reason for that, right Gael?) but Paloma opened it accidentally and told me that it was my father’s will. Lucio wants to know if Gael’s name is in it. Did he leave you anything?  Not exactly, but it does state that he leaves everything to all his ‘heirs’ in equal parts… so I guess I would get half of all the Arangos own. Lucio laughs happy, what do you want to do? … that is why I am here, to see if you know of a lawyer who can give me some guidance… Lucio is happy to provide him with contact info for a lawyer he knows… (wait, Gael, do you really plan to ‘claim’ your part of the Arango fortune? Didn’t you say a while back that none of that mattered to you?  Why don’t you rather ask yourself … what would Loopy do?)
Elisa and Dam make it back to the beach hut (Dam tells Elisa he bought the shack from the fisherman so they can come back there anytime they want…) … Elisa goes right to the basket wondering if Dam is hungry… The snake bites Elisa right away… Dam opens the basket and realizes it is a ‘coralillo’ (well, for having spent most of his education years in Europe and being here only a few months, Dam knows a lot about venom snakes, and that a coralillo is very dangerous…) Dam rushes Elisa to the truck to go get help since he knows that snake’s venom is very dangerous…
At Arango hacienda gate, Alfie is standing pacing very nervous (maybe having a feeling that something will happen)… Carmina comes to scare her saying Dam and Elisa are going to have the same fate Rosie and Stefie had, they will die…

Abismo de pasión #157 10/30/12: Why Everyone in La Ermita is Birdbrained; A Wedding, and a Long Awaited Denunciation

The makeshift stage is empty. At one end of the Patio of Lowered Expectations a backlit, tightly stretched white cotton sheet serves as a screen. There is muted conversation as Patio regulars wait for the great man to appear. From the right, he enters behind the screen, leading with his stomach. As he moves toward the center of the screen, the silhouette becomes an old, but well-remembered outline—The sloping forehead, prominent beak, receding chin and thick double chin. He pauses, holding the pose and waiting for our recognition. The denizens of the Patio giggle, murmur and then applaud. In a gait that could be placed somewhere between a waddle and a strut, the bird makes his way from behind the screen to the standing microphone placed in the center of the stage. The applause swells and fills the Patio. Cap'n Sylvia introduces our guest. “Hello! Tonight I have the 'privilege' of introducing the Director of ‘Abismo de Pasion’, perhaps the best known member of the bird clade Columbidae film directors, Alfredo Paloma-Hitchcock.”

Mexico’s most famous near-passarine artist clears his throat.

“GOOD EVENING.” He says in all caps.

“In tonight’s lecture we will explore the history and themes of ‘Abismo de Pasion’. Although this show was inspired by the work of my Great-Great Uncle, the human English Film Master Alfred Hitchcock, this work has been a collaborative and inter-species effort, one I could not have completed without the creativity and lateral thinking of our simian writers. Fluffy and the Chimps, who have a table of their own, clap and scream loudly for banana Daquiries.

Dry coughs are heard on the Patio. Doris says, “Hey, DaisynJay, this is going to be a long night. Pour me another tall one, will you?” The bird continues speaking, “ I invite all of you to join me in expressing your feedback on tonight’s episode using avian metaphors. Blue Lass grins and says—“Now this should be fun.” The bird drones on. “My uncle first took up the bird theme in his 1963 classic horror film, The Birds…” “Just roll the tape!” orders Cynderella.

Scene One - Blue House of Shame
Carmina and Elisa face one another down. After luring her niece to her lair with the promise of giving Elisa Stef’s long-lost wedding dress, Carmina begins to torture Elisa with words.

“No me parece..” she begins, “It seems incredible to me the love you feel for Damian. You should forgive him for what happened between us.”

“I hope you understand,” replies Elisa, “That there is nothing you could do to separate me from Damian. I am going to marry him today and only death could prevent it.”

Carmina mumbles, “Don’t worry, nothing is going to happen, I’m here. I’m putting this dress in your hands.” She gives Elisa the wedding dress.  “My sister would have liked you to marry Damian. I’m doing it for her, you know? I loved her a lot.” Elisa responds by accusing her aunt of hypocrisy.

Abismo de pasión #156 10/29/12: A Tale of Two Parties

RECAP BY CATHYX

Damian welcomes wife #1 and Carito to the engagement party that Alfonsina is hosting. Flo and Alf glare at each other. Alf grabs her arm and pulls her aside, wanting to know how she could show her face in Casa Arango after what sheʼs done. Flo says she wouldnʼt miss seeing Damian having control over his own life again, and Alf fires back that he is only  getting control because sheʼs letting him.

Alfonsina announces to the group that Damian and Elisa are to be married. Seated are Braulio, Lolita, Lucio, Doc Tovar, Enrique,Carito, and Florencia. Damian, cutting a very fine figure in his well fitted gray suit, and Elisa (who cares what sheʼs wearing) stand and he pulls out a new ring that doesnʼt yet have bad luck attached to it. He puts it on her finger saying that it represents the culmination of all his dreams heʼs had since he was a child. Just now, I see Paloma and Gael behind Damian. Did they just arrive? Not sure. As he talks about his life long love of Elisa, even the cold unfeeling botox queen gets choked up. Next to her, Paloma is doing the happy dance because her arch rival is finally going to be off the market and finally, finally, Gael will give up the notion of getting her back. (Not!)

Abismo de pasión #155 10/26/12: The Bastard with Dreams of Greatness

Casa de Castanon:  I’m still a bit woozy from having to be revived by the paramedics with smelling salts.  It seems both Elisa and I passed out from shock when Alfonsina said that she would not oppose a marriage between Dam and Elisa.  So, you can see why I became light-headed.

Elisa, like me, is confused.  Alfonsina has just complimented Elisa on her business skills (that’s when Elisa hit the floor), and said that Elisa wouldn’t make a bad co-owner in the company.  Elisa comments that the procesadora really must be desperate if Alfonsina is willing to take Elisa’s money.  Alfonsina insists Elisa is wrong and tells Elisa that she is able to save the procesadora without Elisa’s help.  Alfonsina says that she can’t continue fighting Damien on everything.  Alfonsina knows that Damien will give up all for Elisa including his inheritance and his last name.  He’d even cut ties with his own mother for Elisa.  That’s what she’s trying to avoid.  She’s willing to tolerate Elisa (the daughter of the woman who she believes killed her husband) as both a business partner and daughter-in-law.   I’m feeling a bit dizzy again.

Hacienda Arango:  While lounging on his bed, Damien removes his Elisa bait (aka amulet) and puts it in the top drawer of his night-stand.   Alfonsina enters the bedroom and tells Damien that she told Elisa that she will not stop a marriage between the two of them.  Oops, another one bites the dust.   Damien just passed out too. Luckily for you, I’m willing to take one for the team and give Damien mouth to mouth.….OK, he’s back.  OK…maybe not.  Please be patient, this might take a few more minutes of making out and feeling his chest…I mean mouth to mouth and chest compressions…to revive him.

Alfonsina tells Dam that she went to ask Elisa to marry him.  Translation:  his mommy asked Elisa to marry him.  Damien doesn’t believe her.  Alfonsina tells him that she will no longer interfere in his affairs.  He has the right to live his own life.  She admits that she screwed his life up.  Translation:  his mommy has weaned him from her breast milk. He can eat solid food now.

Abismo de pasión #154 10/25/12: Damian rejects, Carmina reflects, Gael neglects, and Elisa connects with Carmina’s face.

Refrito: Who knew there was a piranha in the cenote? Certainly not Dam, but he knows now.

Lo Nuevo:  Fina visits Lucio. (Great eye roll gramps.) He wonders why she’s there. Last time, he says, it was to talk about Blanca and Stef. To her surprise he also knows about the plane tickets, but he says patooey on them because they could be fake just like the DNA results that Carmina once falsified. Fina sighs and says she lost the only person who could help her, her brother. That’s why she’s come, she needs Lucio’s help. They are seeking the same thing, the truth. She wants to talk to Lucio about his doubts concerning Blanca’s death and to put Gabino Mendoza behind bars until the end of his days.

The Citrus Octopus tells Dam that she heard Elisa tell Lolita she wasn’t going to meet Dam at the cenote. She suggests they get it on, “Let’s kiss, let’s cuddle, let’s go to hell together.” (Direct quote, no paraphrasing I swear.) He calls her Señora and says the only thing she provokes in him is lastima y verguenza. She looks like she’d like to have a knife, gun, or rock in her hand right about now.

Abismo de pasión #153 10/24/12: some truths/evil deeds unveiled, but the bad guys are not done... Horacio is dead man walking...a serenata for Elisa... ah! and Gael walks away from a fight and comes home in time for dinner... UN BE LIE VA BLE...

Refrito:
Braulio and Damian compare notes/theories about Horacio and whether or not he is a cold blooded murderer… Dam not believing Horacio is a murderer. Braulio says Horacio told him while in jail that he was forced by Gabino to go after Lucio and got Nina. Gabino comes into the bar, and Dam comes to stand behind him when Gab asks bartender to let him know where Horacio is. Dam spills to Gabino right away that he knows he was behind Nina’s death.
Horacio scares the eyeballs and boobies out of Tonia. Horacio needs to talk to Alfie, Tonia is sure he trumped the Padrecito.  She goes on a freaked out (as usual) shouting that he is a murderer.
Carmina teases Elisa that she can seduce Damian just to get at her…
Lo Nuevo:
Gabino tells Dam that Alfie ordered him to go after Horacio. Just like she asked him to go after Ingrid when Ingrid showed up in town (of course in comes Gall to hear that last juicy detail). Gall grabs Gabino by his plaid shirt neck, suddenly missing his mommy a bit, asks Gabino not-so-nicely what he did to ‘Miss Ingrid’… Gabino says you know Ingrid was my boo… Don’t cry for the bad mother life handed you. She never cared about you, and if she left town, it was to avoid going to jail.    Dam prevents Gall from beating the teeth out of Gabino. Gabino takes his leave. Dam and Braulio agree that they can’t prove anything against Gabino. Braulio leaves to meet Lolita for dinner. Dam invites Gall to a drink, but Gall suddenly feels the need to report home to his lovely wife in time for dinner.  Dam asks the bartender for the trio musicians…  (he doesn’t have a wife to come home to for dinner… so he is coming up with an alternate evening plan)
Tonia tries to beg Horacio to leave. He won’t leave without his Lolita. Tonia asks him to swear if she helps him he will go away WITH Lolita. He swears.
At quinta, Carmina continues to tease Elisa about Dam needing a woman like her (Carmina). Elisa warns her ‘don’t go near Damian’. Elisa is certain Dam would never do the tango with a woman like Carmina.
A while later Carmina and Gabino pace anxiously at blue house. They brainstorm ideas of where Horacio could be hiding after fleeing their house, he could have killed them. They argue. Then Carmina gets a lightbulb moment. If they scare him by taking Lolita, it will remind him why his best move is not.to.play.
Lolita is cooking some yummy chicken breast fillets for Braulio at his house… he teases her to do some eating up each other in bed instead of eating the chicken… But Lolita, knowing her husband is alive, is feeling very uncomfortable because she is, after all, still a married woman.
At Lucio’s Elisa receives a serenade by Dam and the trio musicians… they play ‘contigo aprendi’
(With you I learned…that there are new and better emotions…
with you I learned… to know a new world of illusions/hopes…
I learned… that the week has more than 7 days… (I learned) ..
to make bigger my few happy moments…
and to be joyful, I learned with you…
With you I learned to see the light at the far side of the moon…
with you I learned that I would not trade your presence for any other…
I learned that a kiss can be sweeter and deeper…
that I can leave this world tomorrow… (because) …
the good things I have already lived with you…
and with you I learned… that I was born the day I met you…)

Morning at hacienda… Dam meets Alfie at table for breakfast, Alfie immediately questions him about coming home late… another meeting with your childish friend?... yup. I don’t mean to ruin your breakfast but I suspect that my status with Elisa will be settled sooner rather than later… (Alfie insist Elisa is unstable in her feelings/decisions)… You realize nothing you tell me has the same effect it used to anymore?... I know my decision to marry Elisa is not in the top 10 of your christmas wish list for this year. But answer me something. In case I marry Elisa, will you disherit me as you have warned me? If that is the case I don’t want to wait and will leave the hacienda. (Alfie puts up the pitiful me victim act and brings up the recent death of Lupe,’ so would you leave your threats of abandoning me for later?’) I am no longer willing to put my life on hold for you or for anyone… (Alfie asks if what he is aiming is at hurting her, why not go for the home run and leave on the anniversary of her husband abandoning him for ‘una Bouvier!’) … (Dam gives up sitting in same room with her, but before he leaves he asks her about Horacio’s whereabouts… he thinks she hired Gabino to find Horacio before police does, (she claims she hired a pro P.I.)… by the way mother, there are suspicions that Gabino and Horacio are responsible for the death of Don Lucio’s wife!...( A hidden Tonia impactada)…
At quinta, Lucio, Lolita and Elisa arrive to remove the ‘for sale’ sign, Elisa is elated to have recovered the quinta FINALLY!!… they are quietly observed by Gabino from outside the gate.
Tonia brings Horacio food and questions him immediately on the Nina incident she just heard about….Now she believes him even less… if you outed Dona Blanca, surely you also outed Padrecito! (Horacio has to get rough with her and begs her again to help him… if Gabino finds out that Dam and Alfie know about Nina’s death, then Lolita will be in grave danger… he has to get his wife out of this town before Gabino hurts her… begs Tonia to help him… Tonia nods yes.
Alfie in her bedroom, remembers when Horacio telling her that he was responsible about the horse accident where Dam and Flo fell off the horse.  … then remembers when Horacio warned her to be careful with Carmina… that both she and Gabino are not only business partner, but are together in other ways, including holding each other’s secrets. They cover each other’s back.
Dam goes to get his horse… Carmina basically assaults him there in the middle of his memory of the first kiss with Elisa…  (Horacio watches the scene from behind wall)… Dam has to push her away hard to break the vacuum seal of her fish-plunger kiss… She continues to believe she can turn anyone on, but Dam tells her all she inspires in him is sickness (asco) and above all else, a bit of pity on her. … Dam leaves. Carmina remembers her smooching with Rosie right at the same spot.
Inside, Horacio scares the eyeballs out of Alfie in her studio. He tells Alfie he is desperate, my Lolita is in danger… Alfie refuses to give him a peso… you deceived me!!.. you swore me more than once that you are no murderer, and it was not true!!... (Horacio confirms he killed Nina, but how it happened, that he meant to kill Lucio and he did not realize Dona Blanca was inside)… and my brother? (she decides to fill out an application to play the quiz show game… ) Did Gabino order you to kill him?... (poor Horacio will never touch a knife again in his life, after everyone remembers that little boo boo mistake he made)…Did Gabino kill my brother? …  Horacio tells her Gabino did not kill Loopy but he was also there… (aaannddd her third and final chance/guess)… Did Carmina Bouvier?... yes ma’am! It was her! (Alfie can’t believe it…)  Horacio warns Alfie that Gabino is a timid white pigeon compared to Carmina Bouvier. Alfie still doesn’t get it… why would they do that to my brother… Horacio has to explain to her that Loopy always suspected / knew about Carmina. He was sure Carmina had killed Augie… And it is true, I was a witness to that too. Alfie asks why didn’t you denounce that woman?  Because she knew I had outed Blanca, and she would say I also outed Augie… It would be her word against the word of a runaway criminal. Alfie yells at him that you had the choice but you were a coward!! Horacio not willing to go back to jail for the rest of his life. (STOP the film!! I, the caray editor/recaper, have to say here that I have to agree with Horacio here, not even an all- star suite to include Perry Mason, Petrocelli and Matlock putting their heads together would be able to get Horacio out of this mess alive and free) Alfie says you will turn yourself in and say all you know. He refuses. Maybe his life is not worth much but he has to protect Lolita, if he talks her life is in danger. Alfie (shallow headed as she is) says Lolita is not guilty of anything, and she won’t allow him to flee with Lolita. (Horacio pulls a gun and points it to Alfie, who, by the look in her eyes, believes he is very capable of putting a bullet between her popped eyes.) Alfie tries to convince him that his best move is to talk so Gab and Carmina will end up in jail before they hurt Lolita. Horacio says no, that won’t stop them, besides Carmina is now going after your son, just saw her kissing him outside.  He asks her for 5 mins leadtime and then she can call police. She threats him she will find him no matter where he hides.
Gabino is alone at the blue house, grunting in pain… Carmina comes in, he asks her where have you been?... Carmina acts offended, you are not my owner… did you do your job about Dolores?... they both start shouting to each other… Carmina is super paranoic about what Horacio could do against them.  Gabino did not see Horacio, he just saw her niece (Elisa), the crippled old man (Lucio) and the maid (Lolita)… and followed them to Lolita… Ay ojitos… they played you for a fool. Your niece bought the quinta!
Dam visits Elisa at quinta, he is very happy she was able to get her quinta back… She admits it was a bit dirty but there is no other way with my aunt… He agrees and asks her to meet him at cenote in a couple hours… he teases her for a little sample ahead of time, but she leads him to door…
Enrique visits Flor at DrT’s office and asks her to work on a second chance for the both of them to grow old bored together (aburrirnos juntos), but this time with no lies… Flor more than happy to oblige… (boy, I still think these two are the only ones with a chance of a long lasting relationship, besides Lolita and Braulio)
Elisa tells Lolita she is heading for the cenote… As Elisa is leaving, she runs into Botox-queen at the door… Alfie is looking for Carmina, and when Elisa says she does not live here anymore, to look for her at the blue house, Alfie is ready to leave. But Elisa wants to talk to her… she gives her a very sincere ‘I share your pain for Loopy’s death’. Alfie asks Elisa what Loopy was doing next to Stefie’s grave when he died… Elisa tells her Loopy arranged for a meeting with her there, was going to tell her something about her mother and the past…Elisa also tells her his last few words for her and Dam, about them staying together to be able to face the evil.  Alfie whispers ‘he knew’, but won’t share the secret with Elisa just yet, and gives Elisa instead her final word of wisdom for the day, mentions to her she wants Carmina to tell her why she was kissing Dam at her hacienda stables…  Elisa impactada…
Flor and Enrique keep smooching out on the street outside DtTs clinic, will meet for dinner at a restaurant… Flor goes back in clinic, Gall catches up with Quique and confronts him about quickly finding a replacement for ‘my wife’… Quique won’t take that quietly so he tells Gall he is better at respecting/accepting/stepping aside when a woman tells him all she can be is his friend… oh by the way, did you read the latest headline??  Elisa and Dam are now 50/50 partners at Dam’s procesadora, Elisa did that to save it from bankruptcy.  And whether you like it or not, that will be a long term bond between them… Got that?
At quinta, Carmina barges in… Lolita blocks her right away.. Carmina ‘orders’ Lolita to go get Elisa… Lolita just laughs at her face… Elisa is at cenote… and now just leave, this is not your place anymore. Carmina warns Lolita that Elisa, herself and that darn old hag woman (Carito) will pay for what they did to her.
Outside Carmina leaves but not before leading Gabino to do ‘his thing’ with Lolita… she will not help him because she could not control herself (from outing Lolita for good), she has something else to do…
At cenote, DamGoodInBlack changes into DamGoodinBlackUndies… and walks into the cenote… Carmina gets there before little red ridinghood and whispers to herself that she will hurt Elisa where it would hurt her the most… Carmina gets naked (whoa!! Did she steal an undie short from Elisa? I did not know she likes same style undies)… and gets in cenote  approaching Dam from his back so he has no chance to see her coming… she hugs him from behind and he has his eyes closed so he thinks it is Elisa and lets her go at it… When he finally opens his eyes and pushes her away with a sickened face, it is too late, Elisa has seen them together, of course believes the worst, and has walked away crying.
At quinta, Gabino puts Lolita to sleep with a cloth to her face and carries her away…
Previews: Carmina has taken the place of Elisa to hurt her… but… Elisa confronts Carmina for ‘lo que es mio’ (what is mine)… and a slap fest/hair pull fest ensues…  Elisa seems to be up to the challenge (after all she had practiced with both Alfie and Flo and even Kenya … oh no wait!, that was Paloma… I got carried away)…

·      In the street, Gabino smacks Chente upside the head for being too obvious in Operation Destroy El Yucateco

Lo nuevo:

Carito and Elisa think fast:
Carmina surprises Elisa and Carito in the midst of an affectionate hello at la ProCe El Yucateco.  "How do you happen to know each other?" The conspirators come up with a plausible explanation:  Carito introduced herself to Elisa the day before after Carmina told her Elisa owned one-quarter of the quinta.

Abismo de pasión #151 10/19/12: Gall, Eliar and Dam Adorable Go on a Date without Palobotomy

Sorry the post is so late.  Some of this may not be a part of the first 10 minutes of the show, but I included it anyway.  I will be back on line tonight (PST) if anyone would like to chat.  I have to do homwork at Barnes and Noble. P.S. This is long and has not been editted yet.

Elisa wants Don Lucio to ask the lawyer to draw up some paperwork for her partnership with Looks Hella Dam Gorgeous in Black (I tried not to lick the screen, but I was unsuccessful).  Don Lucio is elated!  He knows that she’s only doing this because she’s in love with Damien and doesn’t want to see him go down in flames.  Elisa agrees, but she would also like to see Alfonsina drop dead of heart failure when she learns that Castanon-Bouvier is part owner of her precious procesadora.

Hacienda Arango:  Damien tells Alfonsina that he’s found an investor.  Alfonsina wants to know where the money is coming from.  Dam gives her a cryptic answer about recovering something that he lost long ago.  Dam Fine tells his mother to stay out of the company’s business.  He’s in charge now and any decision that he makes is to keep the company out of bankruptcy.  Alfonsina points out that it’s a family company and she doesn’t want any riffraff involved.   Dam excuses himself by saying that he has to take a shower (Please let there be a shirtless scene!  Please let there be a shirtless scene!).  Dam’s got plans tonight!  Alfonsina doesn’t appreciate being abandoned.  Dam offers to hire a nurse or a male escort (I don’t make this stuff up, folks!  OK, maybe I do…so what’s it to ya?) so that she won’t be alone.  Dam says that he has a right to have a life outside of these walls.  Alfonsina says that she needs her baby.  She wants to know who he’s going out with.  Elisa is his date, he says and he plans on marrying her.  Get used to it, sister.  Alfonsina says that if that ever happens she will make Elisa’s life hell.  If what she did before wasn’t making Elisa's lifehell, I don’t want to see her definition of hell.  Goodness.

Abismo de pasión #150 10/18/12: when serpents bargain for the right to squirm

Como dijo Marta: At la quinta… Carmina is making holes on the floor pacing around. Gabino gets a 34mm migraine from watching her and listening to her shouting. Carmina is getting paranoic that Horacio is alive and can tell all to the police. Gabino knows well if Horacio sings, they both can end up in jail… Gabino grunts in pain… Carmina tells him they have to find a solution..(continue working on the casualty list, what else??)
Lolita is crying a river at Lucio’s… Horacio comes around her and tells her ‘I did not do it, Lolita. I did not kill Padre Loopy’.

Lo Nuevo:  Lolita begs Horacio not to hurt her. Her words wound him. He’s not capable of harming her. She doesn’t believe anything he says and lists his recent crimes, escaping from the police, faking his death, etc. “Hey, I did it all for you!” he swears, “To protect you.”  She demands how could he have stabbed Padre Lupe in the back? How did that protect her?

Out in the plaza Braulio runs into Elisa and expresses his concern that the murderer Horacio has surfaced. He’s worried for Lolita. Elisa’s not so sure he’s the guy that killed Lupe. If he was the murderer why would he show up at Alfonsina’s with blood on his hands? Braulio’s got a theory or two but Elisa makes the “Hmmmmmm” face with her pointy chin in her hand. She’s not convinced. Nor does she seem at all concerned about Lolita. Meh, it’s not about her yet.

Abismo de pasión #149, 10/17/12: Emotional funeral for Pa'padre... But deep inside everything stays the same... except Ramona is ready to sing the opera!! needs a formal request from Queen Botox, though

Refrito:
Paloma seduces Gael in bed… and just when he is getting into the game(he is tired of the ‘let me play hard to get’ and joins her in the ‘operation skinny sheet-ing/nos estorbo la ropa’ game)….. RRRRIIINNNNGGGG!!!
Dam tells Gael they have to return to LaE. Gael immediately suspects something happened to Elisa (how original!!) but Dam clears that it is Lupe, Tio Lupe is dead!! (Gael gets instantly pale and unbalanced)
Elisa and Lolita barge into la quinta accusing Carmina that she killed Lupe…
Lo Nuevo:
Carmina(faking surprise to hear Lupe’s dead): ‘yo no se nada… yo llegue ahora mismo… y algo paso… yo no estaba ahi!!’ (sorry couldn’t resist, that is the lyrics of a song my dad loved… ‘I don’t know anything… I just got here and something had happened… I wasn’t there!’… anyway, back to the show) of course I deny it.
Elisa won’t stop there and also accuses her of killing Augie… Of course Carmina shoots back that Elisa killed MY son… Elisa says she is witness of Carmina kicking Lupe out of the quinta, and Lolita jumps in saying she is witness that Lupe suspected her of killing Augie… Carmina keeps denying denying… Elisa says don’t bother trying to convince me, you will have to convince the police… Gabino comes in saying ‘eeepale Caballo!!’ which is odd since Gael used to call Elisa ‘potranca’ (mare) himself. Anyway Elisa asks the cops to arrest Carmina but the cops tell Elisa they are not there to arrest Carmina but to tell them that they already have a suspect, Horacio, whose prints they found on the knife. He was also seen all bloody at the Arango hacienda. Lolita is in disbelief totally taken aback.
Braulio arrives at Inmundo/Enrique’s house to tell them Lupe was killed and will be watched at the church.
At Ramona’s we hear a door knock… (ok, it is a TN, it is a TN, why can't they be original and have someone arrive through the window on a parachute? or down the chimney)… it is … wait for it… wait for it…. The ANGEL of Lupe!! But Ramona does not know this… He is dressed in white (no blood anywhere), he gets confused at her whinning that she does not feel good, worried sick that Galoma won’t work as a marriage… Loopy tells her don’t loose the faith, there can be a miracle… Loopy won’t sit down, he seems in a hurry but has a very important task to assign Ramona. He is leaving town and there is nothing that can stop that train… but his mission must be completed… and he delegates the completion of his mission to her, ‘la elegida’ (the chosen one). She has to take the light of truth to the others, she has to clarify what happened… the only one that can do it is …you. (another knock on the door and Loopy is gone… Inmundo comes in to tell her about Lupe being killed). Ramona is totally taken aback. Elisa mad at Carmina that Gabino is there in same bed she shared with Augie… Carmina says mind your own business… Elisa says I don’t know your way of loving, you destroyed my father ever since you married him, turned him into a wasted drunk with your lies and the bitter life you gave him. Carmina pulls her ‘get out of jail free’ card, accusing Stefie, Elisa’s mom… The moment she ran away from here is the moment our lives turned for the worse. Elisa wants her to shut up. She won’t take her lies anymore, she is convinced Stefie is innocent and is growing convinced Augie did not kill himself. Carmina changes tactics and accuses Elisa and Lolita of bringing a murderer in ‘this house’. What if it was Horacio who killed Loopy? (Lolita looks scared at even the thought but she reminds Elisa the cops found his prints on the knife, and also he excaped prison to avoid his sentence, even Loopy suspected him… blames herself ‘es mi culpa mi nina’… Elisa tries to convince her of the contrary, takes Lolita away).
Carmina goes to bedroom… Carmina asks Gabino what will we do?? She is breaking the limits of loudness and that is enough to set off the migrains in Gabino. Gabino assures Carmina he cleaned the knife of her prints but does not know how Horacio’s prints got on it… Carmina tries to bring him into the equation as an accomplice.. Gabino says no you won’t take me down with you… Carmina assures him they all have info on him as well… Gabino gurgles/grunts in pain…
Damian and Lucio arrive at hacienda and a hysterical Tonia tells them about Horacio having been there and told Alfie the truth about Loopy. Tonia believes Horacio killed Loopy. Lucio gets startled, where is he!!!!?? Tonia says she called the police. Dam runs to find Alfie. She begs Dam to tell her it is not true, but after he confirms the tragedy, she assures him Horacio did not kill Lucio or wanted to hurt her, he only came to tell her about what happened to Loopy and that he could not do anything to prevent it. On the contrary, Horacio knows who killed Lupe but did not have time to tell her who it was. Where did it happen? How?? Dam won’t tell her because her heart can’t handle the truth. Alfie says she is fine, her pittpatt can handle it. Dam has no choice but to tell her Elisa and him found Loopy stabbed by Stefie’s grave. Alfie is devastated.
The funeral service at church. Everyone in white, you could easily run a detergent/Clorox commercial with this video… Ramona walks in a packed church, then Maru/Lucio/Carito, then Elisa and Lolita with Braulio.
Outside, Dam and Alfie walk toward the church… Alfie not a happy camper when she sees Elisa by the coffin, asks Dam ‘quitala!, he was my brother, it is my sorrow’. Dam responds ‘it is the whole town’s sorrow, mother’. Elisa walks away and Alfie approaches the coffin, which has a nice framed picture of Loopy on it. Dam sits down, crying a river, Alfie tells Loopy she will miss him (me vas a hacer mucha falta).
As Gael and Paloma make their way to church, Gael remembers some of our favorite scenes, when Loopy consoles kid Gael when he was upset he had no family, that even Paloma had her grandmother. But not him. Loopy says you got ME, mijito! (lets remember this, it will come up again later in episode when Dam/Gael talk). Then another scene where Gael asks Loopy how he will afford his school supplies. Loopy tells him leave that to me. And the playful hand games they played… (we come back to current time with Gael upset, but holding back the tears and managing to walk ever so slowly toward church).
Paloma comes to hug him from behind ‘I am here with you and won’t leave you alone. You have to say goodbye to him.’ Gael agrees. Gael and Paloma approach the coffin, Alfie is still there… Gael has one final memory scene, where adult Gael told Loopy that ‘you have not only been the priest who picked him up at the door of the church, you have been my ‘papa, the best papa in the world’…
Gael approaches the coffin, tells Alfie ‘Senora, would you allow me? I know he was your brother, but he was everything for me… he was my papa’’. Alfie is moved enough to nod yes and walk away… Gael finally lets out the tears and leans onto the coffin… devastated… Dam watches him and continues to cry a river.
Ramona suggests to Paloma to go join her husband. But on his way back out he grabs Elisa’s hand and tells her ‘my papa died!’… Paloma is hurt by this… Elisa hugs him but whispers to him that Paloma is there, that he should go to her. Gael lets go of Elisa and goes to embrace Paloma who caresses him in support.
(Have to say I applaud the acting here… everyone… Mark, David, Blanca, Livia, even Angelique… were great)
The procession to the cementery begins…the new priest followed by the coffin carried by the obvious: Dam/Gael/Lucio/Enrique and huffing and puffing Lucio and Inmundo in the back, followed by the whole town in white with yellow flowers… A very emotional goodbye with Gael throwing the soil on the coffin… hmmm Gael and Paloma both are wearing their amulets…
Flo talks to Dam, sharing her support… Enrique approaches Paloma (who has Gael just a foot away from her), asks her how her marriage is going… Paloma says not the best moment to talk about that. Paloma walks away and Flo invites a reluctant Enrique to get a coffee… (I still say these are the two with the best chances of making a long lastin relationship).
Dam: You have to be strong, brother. We all hurt by losing uncle Loop but you must be the one carrying the worse hurt. IF Loopy fought for anything it was for us two to have a close relationship as brothers. (Gael has a cold insensitive face to what Dam is saying, for all he cares Dam could be giving him a sales pitch for a brand of spray starch) … We cannot let him down. I know how all this is affecting you, and believe it or not I too am very affected by this. I too will miss my uncle as you cannot imagine.
Gael: You think life was so unfair with me. But not so. I did not grow up at the hacienda surrounded by wealth and luxury… (Dam changes demeanor, realizes Gael is still very hurt and very cruel/rough with him). But if we think about it, life was more unfair with you Damian. I had my dad… I had a dad who tucked me in bed every night, who gave me advice. Who reprimanded me. Who worried about me. A papa who always had the table ready to eat with me. And I would not change any… ANY of that for having the Arango surname. So if you think about it, even with all those millions, the procesadora, the hacienda and all that jazz, the loser here was you, Damian. (Dam is serious in his glance, but somehow seems to acknowledge what Gael is saying is true). Gael walks away, very sad. Dam rejoins Alfie… Alfie wants him to leave her alone by the grave. She shared the funeral with the whole town, she wants to be alone with Loopy. Take your time. When you are ready to leave, I will be sleeping under the tree… working on a looong long beard.
Paloma and Elisa hug (I can’t believe Elisa is wearing black boots… can’t she toss the boots away even in this occasion?) They comfort each other… Elisa had never seen Gael so sad in her life. Paloma says now I am here to support him, and I am sure with our baby coming it will be some consolation for him. Elisa agrees. Elisa is sorry they had to cut short the honeymoon. How did he treat you? Very good! (LIAR!!!)
Gael comes to get Paloma. They have not slept and she needs to rest for the baby. Elisa likes his worrying about Paloma, but not enough to avoid being left alone with him. She embraces him and he won’t waste a moment to remind her that she is still in his head and his heart (I don’t know if he is the one with the bigger head issue or Gabino with the bullet in his head). (And I thought you had made some strides… Are you EVER going to grow up, Gall??)
Enrique and Flo comment how the whole town turned out to such a moving emotional goodbye. Enrique can only think that Gael is the one with the woman he loves. Sorry I hurt you with that. Flo says don’t worry. Want to be your friend and want you to torture me with those statements. But time changes people. Look at me. I thought I would enjoy Alfie’s sorrow, and that I would feel payback for losing my dad, but I felt sorry for her. Btw, where is your mom? She was not there. Enrique thinks his mom was just sick. Flo walks with him to check on his mom.
Ramona catches up with Alfie at the grave. ‘You won’t find the answers you are looking for just standing here’. Alfie tells her she was right, life is collecting on her mistakes… but her brother’s death is too high a price for her to pay. Ramona tells her ’I might have the answers you are looking for. When you can put your ego/pride aside and want to get the answers, you know where to find me. By the way … just for the record. I am so sorry for your loss. It is not only a great loss for you and your son, for the whole town of LaE.
Enrique and Flo do not find BeGoneYa, they find the phone pulled off the hook. Enrique notices the family portraits are gone… he runs upstairs. Flo finds a letter from BeGoneYa on the dining table. Enrique reads it.
‘My dear Enriquito. Sorry but I can’t take it anymore. Overnight I lost everything. Your dad, your sister fled, you, the light of my eyes… even my untouchable reputation.. suddenly I am the talk of the town. All my friends turned their backs on me and I can’t deal with that. I went to my sister’s in Guadalajara for a while.’
At la quinta… Carmina is making holes on the floor pacing around.
Previews: Apparently Lolita tries to grab the phone and Horacio has to yank it off the wall… Lolita tells Lucio Horacio swore he did not kill Lupe. Carmina suggests to Gabino to flee before its too late… Dam asks Elisa if she wants to get back with him, and in comes Gaeloma. The awesome foursome sit down at same café table. Elisa tells Gael she is back with Dam. Gael says he can’t believe it is true(of course with an annoyed face). (DANG!!!! The plot thickens!!! And at same time it stays the same forthe four ‘leads’. Every other character in the novela seems to be going through more interesting stuff than the ‘main’ foursome)

Abismo de pasión #148 10/15/12

RECAP BY CATHYX

Senior writer Fluffy, his son Fluffy Jr, and the rest of the monkeys have worked up a doozy of an episode tonight. Since they have no sense of how humans react and behave, being simians after all, they bring us some outrageous scenes that make little sense to us. So if you put your beanies on and watch this through the eyes of an ape, it will all fall into place.

Fluffyʼs show notes:
-14 more episodes to go.
-Ideas on how to stretch this out. 1.Kill off every character in the show one at a time. 2.Introduce new characters. 3. repeat old story lines.
-Let Fluffy Jr. write some scenes and dialog. Give him a minor character, probably will give him Horacio.

-Plan el gran finale party. Put Mrs. Fluffy on that job. Televisa bosses love her parties. Have her provide Tostachos® to please the advertisers.

Abismo de pasión #147 10/11/12: Yo ex padre, is there an amulet for that?

Tonight's recap brought to you by J.A. Henckels.

OK folks, we’re all settled on The Patio with our yellow bandanas and pitchers of Harvey Wallbangers. No more of that noisy chair scraping please, however comments and howls from the peanut gallery are encouraged. El mesero will be passing around baskets of overripe bananas for our throwing pleasure.

Let’s see, where did we leave off last night? Marta, remind us please: “Gabino visits Alfie and fakes being happy she is fine after her crisis. Gabino reminds her that they have a pending deal, he still wants to be associated to the procesadora. Will do anything to get that. Alfie asks how far would he go to get it. Gab offers to make Elisa stop breathing.. (and stop crying too?? That does not sound THAT bad)”

Gracias amiga, now on with tonight’s tonterías...

Alfonsina flips her fan at Gabino in disgust. She will take care of Elisa on her own, sola. Gabino claims all his years of being head guy at the ProCe will be of help to her. He can break Elisa and bring Alfie back to the top. Bah, she sniffs, he just plays dirty and his liabilities outweigh his benefits. Gab pulls out his big gun. (No, you dirty-minded girls at the back row table. Not THAT big gun.) He tells Fina if she doesn’t deal with Elisa then she will lose everything. She will lose Dam to Elisa the same way she lost Rosendo to Estefania. (Huh? But Dam’s not her...oh never mind. Hand me a banana.)  She will end up with nada. Fina fanatically  flips her fan and says she’ll think about it.

Lupe is still wearing all white like he’s practicing to be an angel. Elisa and Lucio show up and she blathers annoyingly about the gift of Estef’s fancy new grave. Lupe says he has many Very Important things to tell Elisa in front of said grave. Not important enough to tell right now of course, but important enough to put off until 4:00 this afternoon for reasons only a monkey can fathom. The Patio is in an uproar and Blue Lass starts hammering out  sympathy cards for Abismart.
