Una Familia Con Suerte #151-152 Tue 3/6/12

Lupe visits a badly bruised Tomas in jail. Things are not going well. She wants to know what *really* happened. He's lucky that Chela spoke some words in his favor, because she is sweet to him (horrifying face and all). He presses his advantage, and lays it on her... All I want is to be with you forever. Fortunately, visiting hours end.

Chato seems like he'll be leaving. They're having a going away party... He gives a sweet goodbye speech and everyone claps. Sandrucha is suddenly much nicer. Chacho has been a very positive influence. They have a kiss, and everyone watches with wide eyes and mocks them... "se quieren, se quieren..."

Mike is back, our favorite dorito-colored jerk. He wants Beca to come on a vacation with him. She's wearing fluffed-up pink crepe paper. God, he's awful. That face he makes....

Since Ana lost her contract, The family has decided to sell them on their own.

Vins is extremely unhappy that Sandrucha is dating Chacho, and calls him a "chayote de campo!" Chacho stands up for himself, briefly, but then Vins threatens to fire her.

Chela kisses Pancho and sends him off with some lunch.
Beca will go to Miami with Mike. She admits that Pancho is the love of her life, but wants to keep living. Mike: *I* was the love of your life.

Pancho and Enzo are quite nice to each other about Chela.

Candy flogs the cd on her show. And Oh, God, I hadn't heard her sing lately. I'm not even sure she's not lip-syncing. It doesn't sound like her. We're treated to shots of folks all over Mexico singing along, dancing, and tapping their steering wheels. They're even listening in jail. It doesn't help his case with the thugs (one of whom is 4 feet tall)

Ines, in a silly blue suit/dress and hat, comes to Vins to... talk about Mike! But that's not all. ... Vins lets her know that Pancho could inherit everything. The combination of that and the whiskey just about gives the old bag an infarto. They connive convincingly. She reveals that the merger is crucial to her revenge... She's still sticking to the story that the only reason for the feud is the dead husband, but I bet there's more.

Chela is also hawking the disc at her Avon party.

Pepe is not making much headway helping Moni with calculus (or is it the other way around?).

Pancho overhears Rebe telling Arnold that she's going to Miami. Pancho makes a face. Arnold, on the other hand, is delighted. He's been telling her to do it.

There's a gross, gross kiss between Pancho and Chela. God, it looks uncomfortable. Temo walks in and is delighted. The brat runs off to tell the rest of Mexico and they get back to it.

Fernanda and some old dude are happily strolling through some small-town historical museum (are they on exhibit)... they can't believe they're together after all this time. The old dude proudly mentions that it used to be a wealthy mining town (18th century? Mexico? look how this old dude happily reminisces on the misery and abuse of indians). Ahhh, it's Doctor Octop--Octavio. That's a little creepy, dating your doctor. Haha, they dance in some randomly empty dance studio.

Candy is becoming more and more like Pina, yelling at the maid and succumbing to paranoia. But in her case, there is a real conspiracy - Napoleon. Napoleon's hot agent Deborah drops by to point out how crappy it must be to live in a house owned by Vins, AAAND propose to Candy in Napoleon's name with some threats of consequences for proposal.

She tells Vins, and he demands to meet this Napoleon character.

Mike comes to pick up Beca, who is ludicrously squeezed into a tiny red swimsuit of a dress. Mike is speechless... he comments that he did not know so much beauty could fit in one woman. That's also an awful lot of boob to fit in one micro-dress.

Pancho announces that he's taking it up with Chela. His family pretends to be shocked (Temo already told them)..

Good night, friends!

Thanks for the fast and snappy recap. Loved the "dorito colored" quip. Since you mentioned mini thug: is Tanque really that tall?

I am not liking these new relationship developments. Really can't wait until Pina's return. Did I understand correctly? Will she be somewhat pivotal IRT the merger? That would be interesting.

Ezra, thanks for the fast and very funny recap.

I am really tired to hearing Ana and her singing. Could she at least change songs?

I think Pina owns a giant block of shares and her vote could make the merger go either way.

Rosemary

Thanks Ezra for the rapid fire posting. Your keen wit also makes this painful phase go down so much easier. Are we going to run out of yellow/orange junk food names to call Mike before we get to jettison him to Miami? I can't wait.

Maybe Inez is going to trip up Vicente or he is fully capable of tripping up himself regarding the Mother and Child reunion for Fer and Pancho.

The Chela/Pancho kisses make them both look like maybe the other person has really, really bad breath and they just don't want to hurt each other's feelings.

Candy is going to need a redo, I think Pina is going to get Vicente back if she will have him.

Thank you Ezra for this fast recap.
Poor Tomas, his face is soo messed up. I feel so bad for him, and Lupe fighting for him is so great. I like how she went and told Pancho and he called the lawyer. I hope they get the proof of his innocence soon. Who knows how long it will take Elena to fess up to being with Christian.

I liked the talk with Pancho and Enzzo. I think it put a little doubt into Pancho about Chela. Enzzo truely is a wonderful guy and very noble.

IckyMickey is a real jerk. I really hope Rebe changes her mind and doesn't go to Miami with him. Did Mike give Rebe her old engangement ring he gave her before in the rose? I hope she doesn't accept it.

I have a theory about Ines. She hates Fer for having an affair with her husband, so maybe Ines' husband is the father of Pancho? Maybe that is why she had a cow when she heard that Pancho is Dona Fer's son. I really hope Pina nixes this merger.

Poor Candy, this Napoleon really wants her bad enough to send this ninja with an engagement ring. Poor Candy had no idea that that apartment is in Enzzo's name, and that Vice was offered money for her. I really hope he doesn't sell her down the river.

The kids really didn't look surprised by the announcement of Chela and Pancho, but the only one to seem happy was Temo. The other kids didn't look so happy. Especially Lupe. I hope she talks some sense into the two of them.

Seeing the advances it looks like Rebe and Pancho have a moment. Maybe Pancho will snap out of it.

Can someone tell me who the Mexican composer was whose picture was on the piano? The music was sort of haunting and I loved how Dona Fer and Dr. Octavio were dancing with those ghostly lights.

Madelaine, the composer of that song you like is Agustín Lara, a famous and prolific Mexican songwriter. The song we hear in this episode is called Amor de Mis Amores. Isn't it wonderful?

Ezra, thank you for your peppy and funny recap. Pancho + Chela = cero a la izquierda.

Mike looked even more orange in this episode! How is that possible? I'm sure we'll have many good nicknames for him but one thing I will NOT call him is Flamin' Hot Cheetoh. I might call him a Cheesy Poof though.

FYI to all: Veence told Candy about the apartment being in Enzo's name a couple of episodes ago.

Pina, Pina, please come back and breathe some dramatic, smart and funny fresh air to what's become a dime store teenage romance story.

Thanks Ezra...loved your descriptions of Rebe's outfits..."fluffed-up pink crepe paper" and "Beca who is ludicrously squeezed into a red swimsuit of a dress".

I've been trying to figure out why she is so ridiculously wooden during this telenovela and have concluded that it's the impossible outfits they're wedging her into.

Fast, funny and to the point. A perfect recap. Thanks.

Good recap Ezra.......I didn't see the show last night, and with all the college b ball tourneys on, it may be a minute before I can watch. But your description of Rebe and the painted on red dress will send me to Univision.com

Vivi in DC, we now have a host of Amazons on this TN.
Violeta-Still Queen of the Amazons (just crazy as hell)
Debra-Napoleon's Athletic Amazon
Hot Pants-Iky Mikey's secretary & ex lover

Honorable mentions;
Rebe, Candy, Chela, Sandrucha and yes, even Pina is Amazonian in her own way...

But the story line still somewhat predictable. These Amazon, Glamazon big T and A females are to keep the males watching, and it's doing a good job......

These recaps let me know when the Amazons are out and about, and it's time to tune in.... lol

Oh Vivi by the way, I hope your cold is better....and the pictures of your trip are fantastic......That just ain't the best part of the world for an American right now. Glad you are home.

Thanks so much Ezra. I have the episode playing right now in the background as I missed all but the last (icky) half hour last night. I was asleep half the day due to a cold. I can't believe Chela and Pancho are announcing their noviazgo like that. Only Temo looked happy about it, and Lupita looked the least pleased. If Chela isn't careful, Cheeto's assistant (don't know her name yet) might snap up Enzzo before she's snapped out of her Pancho fantasy.

Poor Tomas. I still want to see him prove himself more before he and Lupe start a relationship again.

I know that Vince tampered with the DNA results, but is Fer continuing the search for her son? Has Enzzo thought of telling anyone in the Lopez clan what he knows? And did Pancho ever know he was suspected of being Fer's child? Does he know he was adopted?

I also think it's possible that Pancho is the son of Inez's dead husband. Meaning (in this universe) he's heir to the majority of both Avon-Mexico and Belle Face shares. Inez should be worried!

Thanks Anon#1. I don't feel as bad as I did yesterday, but I must have picked up some super bug on my flights back. My co-workers banned me from coming in to the office today (in a nice way). One of them has a newborn and is not keen to be exposed to any germs. So, here I am at home again.

Cap'n Sylvia thank for the name of the composer. His music is wonderful. They had something of his on LQNPA not too long ago. It was very lovely.

Vivi-hope you are feeling better soon.

Vivi, if more folks stayed home when sick, less folks will get sick....Handshaking is the number one culprit for spreading illness.....more so than riding a crowded plane.

I don't think bumping elbows will catch on.

Ezra, mil gracias. Your descriptions of Rebe's constricting clothing make me want to put on a sweatsuit. So funny.

Vivi: Cheez-it's assistant's name is Lidia. Pancho knows that Fer thought he was her son, and that she got a DNA test, but it was negative. I'm pretty sure he knows he was adopted.

So, he had a party and everything. Are we now FINALLY rid of Chato? Bring on buddy #3 to hang with Chacho. I hope it's someone better. Could not believe the way Pancho and Chela were chanting and teasing Chacho and Sandra. Neither of them has matured at all after 5th grade.

I'm glad Lupita is on the case, but I wish she wouldn't try to talk herself into someday falling in love with Tom again. Lupita, let me introduce you to options C and D.

That convo in the lawyer's office was making me crazy.

Lupita: I think we should get the hotel security video.

Lawyer: I suppose it might be possible to get the security video.

Pancho: HEY! What about getting the security video?! Security video! HAHAHA blah blah blah yak yak yak nasal hysterics security video!

Lawyer: Probably I can get the security video.

Pancho: More screaming about the security video!

Lupita: The security video might show that Tomas wasn't there.

Lawyer: I will try to get the security video.

Me: Why are you still talking about this?! Go get the security video, like last week!

Thanks for the recap. I was gone last night and don't particularly want to spend time watching it today. Recap saved the day. Will miss the rest of the week too - having company. So glad I missed the Chela/Pancho kiss - they make me squirm. There kisses are so sisterly-brotherly. No passion.

Ezra, thanks for a fine recap. My favorite lines: "Gross, gross..." and "ludicrously squeezed into a tiny red swimsuit of a dress…"

I can’t take much more of Pancho and Chela going at it. I get that Chela has longed for Pancho for 20 years, but Pancho is ridiculous settling for convenience and safety because he has too much pride to go after the woman he loves.

Poor Candy. She used to be so daring. Now she's crying all the time. Plus her boobs don't need any extra help from a too-tight dress. Vince is a rat but he loves Candy – I don’t believe he would sell her out.
