El Mundo de Telemundo - week of June 4 - Discuss among yourselves
Labels: relaciones, telemundo, valiente
In their cell, the Rat’s accomplice, Halcón, tells Juan Marcos he should leave now that his release on bail has been arranged. JM should start putting together some money, and he’ll be in touch with the name of the woman responsible for all the murders.
Estéban’s ex-wife, Guadalupe, accuses him of never spending any time with their son, Nicolás. She threatens to tell Sam about his obsession. Jefe loses it and tells her he’ll cut off the money if she does.
Ángela tells Horrible Josefina (HJ) that her custody is provisional, and that she’s not taking Génesis anywhere. HJ says they’ll see about that. Emma asks her what I’ve been wondering. Why now? No interest in either Isabel or her granddaughter for years and years. She doesn’t answer.
Evil Estela [she’s gone past estúpida for me] comes to Sammy’s apartment, not to tell her that Despicable Dad arranged her kidnapping when she was a child, but for a vicious attack. Sam is groggy from Jefe’s drugs, and EE tells her horrible things, even saying she caused Willy’s death because he left on his trip in a disturbed state because he and DD argued over both being in love with Sam. She also told her Perla was just a fling for Miguel, and Sammy doesn’t even know who her father is.
Vikingo’s girlfriend, Corazón, starts talking him out of turning over the video to the cops, saying the Reptile is dangerous.
The Reptile tells Vicente she’s come up with a new plan to destroy Ángela. [Is this Reptile Plan Ver. 18 or Ver. 19?]
DD calls to tell Ofelia he’s not coming back. He says poor Fernanda. He and Ofelia know better than anyone that an amor prohibido is a bad thing. Hmmm. More incest hints.
The Reptile and HJ exchange barbs. HJ remarks how ugly she was as a girl and surgery does wonders. The Reptile replies that she’s right and that HJ needs some!
Sam tries to call Ángela but passes out from all the Sleepy Time orange juice. Jefe shows up and tells her to forget about Ángela; he’s taking her somewhere safe. He gets her to drink a bit more, then makes Arturo leave, so that he won’t be locked up with no food.
Unbelievable!!! The Reptile suggests a double wedding with JM/Angela and she and Vicente. Ángela looks aghast, but we don’t find out if they’ve agreed to this.
Estéban/Jefe lifts up Sam and carries her out just as Willy arrives, driven by Lorena. They’ve rented a car.
Jefe brings Sam, unconscious, to some clinic where he knows the guy who runs it. He says only the two of them can know Sam is here. He spins a tale about her having been one of his best bodyguards and that she was the novia of Willy del Castillo, whose plane went down. He had to give her some sedatives, and he’s afraid she’ll try suicide. He wants her to stay there, sedated and well cared for.
JM tells Ángela about meeting Halcón and that Violeta was not making things up. Luis was the one who killed Tamara. He didn’t die on the boat, but rather later – in an explosion.
Willy finds Sam’s apartment empty, and assumes she’s left him. He tells Lorena he feels completely alone.
Sammy wakes up and fights two nurses until they shoot her up with drugs. Estéban tries to force her to write a letter to Ángela telling her she’s gone on a trip and won’t be able to make the wedding. But she doesn't do it.
Willy and Lorena show up at Casa Arroyo. JM and Ángela are stunned to see him. Angie tells him that Sammy searched and searched for him, and she wasn’t going anywhere without telling her, Angela. Willy tells them that Bernie was the one who had Sam kidnapped all those years ago. He says he overheard DD telling Estela (I thought it was Ofelia.). Angie wonders why her mother didn’t tell her about that. Willy says he told his father he was going to tell Samantha about his having her kidnapped, and that’s why his father tried to kill him.
The Reptile and Vicente come to see Vikingo, who tells them about the flambéed Rat.
JM and Ángela tell Willy about how distraught his father was at his supposed death and that he’s disappeared.
Sam gets up and is looking out the window trying to orient herself. The female nurse makes her lie down and gives her a pill. After the nurse leaves, Sammy spits it out!
Peralta comes in and says the Jefe is on his way. Willy says he doesn’t want this guy to know he’s alive. [¡Yo tampoco!] He can’t say why – call it intuition. Peralta protests, but finally agrees. Lorena and Willy go upstairs. Jefe arrives and asks if they’ve heard anything about Willy. When they say no, he tells them Sam was in a bad way and maybe she needed to be alone.
Sam’s door at the clinic is not locked, and she’s maneuvering around the halls.
Guadalupe wrecks Estéban’s lair where he had all the photos of Sam. She leaves him a note saying she won’t let the two of them be happy together.
Gabriel has the cojones to show up and tell Emma that he’s incurred a lot of debts for the exhibition of her paintings that didn’t work out. I’m ready to scream, but Peralta returns to the kitchen and says he found out who painted all over the walls and her paintings and that it was Gabriel! Yay!
The Reptile puts on her leather gloves and takes out the gun she says she used to kill JM’s parents. She tells Vicente she has another genius idea. She’s going to blame her crimes on Ángela!
Ángela tells Willy Sammy has to know that he’s alive. Lorena looks disgusted at this.
Sam enters an office in the clinic and calls Ángela’s cell. For once the right person has their cell phone and Sammy speaks to Ángela.
Thanks Novelera for the recap. I kept waiting to see if Luis was going to survive that car bombing somehow. It felt somehow like we got cheated, they way they killed him off so quickly. Don't you think we could go phonetic and refer to Isabel's mother as JJ? (Jorrible Josefina). She really gives me the creeps! I wonder if the writers on this show all hate their mothers?
:o)
J in Oregon
Thanks for the recap, Novelera. I'm sure it won't matter, but Fernanda only put on one glove when she was cleaning the gun she's so lovingly preserved from killing JM's parents. Her fingerprints got all over the case. But as I said, I doubt this matters.
I was sure Sam was going to fake taking that pill. Go, Sam! And also, Arturo the dog seems to have tracked things to that clinic. Maybe he can help Sam or Willy.
I still think Luis is alive. One of the characters even remarked he's very hard to kill.
Here are the rest of the episodes to bring this series current.
In the new police procedure of put every criminal in the same room and see what happens, Andrés and Gonzalo yell at each other across a little table. Gonzo accuses Andrés of murder, Andrés says Gonzo's a nobody, a drug addict, and he's jealous of Leo's wealth, and ashamed his Mom is a servant in his best friend's house. Gonzo starts losing it, and lunges at Andrés. Guards restrain him. This didn't prove anything. But at the drug hideout “discovered” by Pedro García, the police find the body of Freddie, the kid Andrés killed, all sorts of blood, and Andrés fingerprints everywhere. He's in deep doo doo now! He's just finished telling Nena how unfair all these lies are, when Orlando comes in with this bombshell. I think Nena knows the truth for sure now.
Leo asks Liz if Gonzalo raped her, which he sort of did. Liz doesn't confirm or deny, but Leo suspects. Liz says be careful with Gonzo. But Leo says he holds an ace up his sleeve. Way back when, he taped Gonzo partying drugged out with Rodrigo and that other kid. He swore an oath to Gonzo that erased the video. But he didn't. He goes to see Gonzo, and tells him lay off Liz, or I'll show Orlando this video. Now Gonzo's REALLY mad. Leo stole HIS girl, and broke his oath. But he calms down, tells Leo that 1) he already told Orlando he gave the drugs to Rodrigo, and 2) once Liz finds out that Leo's Dad had her parents killed, does Leo really think Liz will want to be with the son of her parents' killer?!
Joaco had that Mexican standoff with Victor's henchman. He won't say anything about the tape until he sees Yesi. The henchman calls Victor, who finally shows up with Yesi, crying and tied up. He points the gun at Yesi, says he'll kill her unless Joaco puts his gun down. Joaco does. Then he says he'll kill Yesi unless Joaco gives him the dvd. Joaco did actually have it, gives it to Victor, says now let us go. Too bad, buddy, you trusted me, smirks Victor. On your knees! He holds the gun to Joaco's head and is about to press the trigger. Yesi pleads, and finally Victor gives Joaco an out. He must NEVER mention that dvd, and he has to find and KILL Henry the chauffeur in three days. And Yesi will remain Vic's prisoner until the job is done. Joaco says he was in jail for robbery, not murder. Vic says too bad, take it or leave it. Joaco agrees.
Pati is worried about Joaco. She did reach him on the phone while he was waiting for Victor and he told her not to worry. Meanwhile, she goes to meet her Mom at a luxury home or hotel, and who should surprise Pati but Augusto, the guy she left planted at the altar. He has a cane. He explains that he has a terminal illness, and will die in three months. He just wants Pati to marry him, and he'll be happy for those three months. He even has the doctor's certificate to prove his illness (I bet it's faked). Besides, he'll also give Pati his millions, and she can start her own lab. Despite this ridiculous telenovela setup, Ana Layevska does a brilliant job here of portraying anguish, guilt and confusion, fumbling that she never really loved Augusto, tears streaming down her face. So far, she hasn't mentioned Joaco.
Olivia is also in tears, furious at herself and at Mauricio for having let him get the tape. Orlando reams her out for losing this key piece of evidence. She's sure Mauricio has it. In a halting voice, she tells Orlando this, who realizes she's been less than professional.
But where is Mauricio? On the boat with Miranda. They spend a beautiful night together, in each other's arms. He's sworn never to reveal the secret that she's expecting his baby. But both of them are reveling in this one night, when they can let out all their passions, even if it'll never happen again. I have to admit I was moved to tears of joy with the beauty and intensity of their love.
This show is like a hot razor, it's burning with danger! Every scene is intense, as we get closer to the gran final.
Of course Miranda denies that Mauricio knows the baby is his. Of course JP isn't satisfied, and stalks off. He meets Olivares, and says he wants some microphones to put in Miranda's bedroom to find out what she's saying to Mauricio. At the end of the episode, Olivares gives him the mikes, and JP tells him, today I'll know the truth.
Lots of other people know some of the truth. After Julia watches Ana drink more coffee, telling Santiago her stomach hurts, but caffeine has always been good for her, Julia says to herself, if she only knew it was poison! Santi insists on taking Ana to Doctor Hector (Diego's Dad). So Julia flags down Diego, says, hon, could you get me an appointment with your wonderful Dad, the best doctor in town? After she leaves, Nora says, do you still think Julia wanted to kill Armando? I'm sure of one thing, she hated her father-in-law. Maybe everyone does, says Nora. Well, you don't hate MY Dad, do you? queries Diego. I'm a little scared, would he want to deport me if he knew I were illegal? Alejo comes up, and Nora kisses Diego and leaves. Diego (who apparently isn't totally denying his attraction to Alejo anymore) tells Alejo, lets meet, but outside of school. Alejo tells him he's not some dog you can just call when you're ready. But he apologizes.
Teresa is burdened with grief over Ricardo's death, and guilt and anguish over how she could be a mother again, especially since Liz hates her. A lawyer tells Liz that her Dad left her $3 million, but Teresa has custody. This enrages Liz, no way! I'll kill myself before living with that woman. The lawyer later tells her that the documents is iron-clad (he says blindado, which is the same word you use for an armored car). If she doesn't live with Teresa, she's gets nothing, and will be out on the street.
As will a number of other people. First of all, Monica. She's just found out that the Court froze Andrés's accounts, and her transfers were reversed. She's got nuttin'! (what about that slinky bod, beautiful face, and the modeling career?) Victor says he's leaving the country, but he'll send her money (oh yeah, right). Andrés may also have nothing, as his accounts are frozen, and Nena says we can't even pay the lawyer. Both Nena and Leo visit Andrés, and even though he blames everybody he can, Victor, Nena, Gonzalo, Nena and Leo remind him that HE's the one who caused his own downfall. Nena's upset that all the papers are bad mouthing their wonderful family name. Leo is upset his Dad may have ordered the death of his girlfriend's parents! Orlando tells Liz that Andrés is the prime suspect, and of course, she tells Leo she never want to see him again, he's got the same blood as the man who made her an orphan!
Victor tells Joaco he has to find and kill Henry. He then ties up Joaco and Yesi. But after he leaves, Joaco gets free, and frees Yesi. She realizes she made a mistake with Victor, but he seemed so nice, and she was tired of being poor. She's shocked to find that the evidence on the dvd that Joaco gave Victor said that Vic was responsible for the death of Liz's parents! What? She didn't even know they were dead. That Victor is a monster! The siblings discover that all the guards have left, and they can get out. But Joaco still thinks he may have to kill Henry, although of course he doesn't want to. They agree not to tell anyone about this.
Gonzalo tells his Mom that when he gets out, which he thinks will be soon, Leo and Liz will PAY! Benita tries to tell him that won't solve anything, but he's not listening.
Olivia confronts Mauricio, you can't lie to me, you were with Miranda, and you took that dvd! Mauricio says of course I wasn't with Miranda, but yes, I did take the dvd. I had to, to save Yesenia. Victor has her kidnapped! Olivia is shocked at this. Mau continues, Joaco said I had to give him the dvd, to save Yesi. What would YOU have done? Olivia says that was extortion, you should have let the police help you. What if we lost the key piece of evidence, and Victor STILL kills Yesi!!? And now I know you've tampered with evidence, which is obstruction of justice, a crime. I have to turn you in, or I'll be an accomplice. Mau says I'll be solely responsible, you can turn me in, I don't want you to be in trouble (which of course makes Olivia decide NOT to turn him in). But Victor might be trying to flee the country, so we need to act fast.
In the meantime, the police need the one last witness, Javier. This would help clear Gonzalo if he admits he put that wallet in Gonzo's room, under Victor's orders. Victor tells his guys to kill Javier, but the police arrest him. But isn't that cop García leading the arrest? He's working with Victor. Javier may be in trouble!
So may Pati. Her mom tells her she has to marry Augusto, not just out of pity, but look at this report. Because of la crísis, our family is in ruins! You need to marry Augusto, when he dies you get his money, and then give it to me, and save your family. You don't want your Mom in the street, do you? And then you can marry your lowlife Joaco. After Pati leaves to think about it (she tells Miranda, who pretty much says no way), Ivana (Pati's Mom) calls someone, find out all you can about Joaquin Rivera!
Miranda's getting emotional with the Angel de la Guardia that Mau gave her. She tells Mau he was taking a big risk, but he says he can't help it. He can't stop loving her. Ever!
We finally get a little humor, although it may just be that I'm a little warped. Sofía is on her laptop, tells her Mom, look at this cool internet page, you can apply for scholarships (they show the actual page), just as Mau did. Well, honey, do you want me to help you? No need, Mom, I already filled out the form, and in a few days, I 'll probably be accepted for scholarship at Yale! (that's some webpage!)
Then we have Gilberto, poor Gilberto. Teresa has told a resistant Liz that even though the two of them are like oil and water, they're going to have to live together, Ricardo's Will was a legal document which can't be broken. Yesi had told Liz it's not so great to be a kid on your own. She and Joaco are orphans, and Joaco was “on vacation” for 2 years. During that time, if she got sick, there was no one to feed her medicine, no one to talk to when she was down. It was rough. So maybe Liz will understand this.
But since Liz is going to live with Teresa (and they've also been ordered to sell Ricardo's house immediately (sure, why not?), Teresa tells Gil he has to leave. By tomorrow. This puts a serious kink in Gil's plans to seduce Teresa and get her money (he's lounging around with his shirt open, showing his skinny chest, when Tere says “button up”. So what's a scrounger to do? No prob, says Julia, we need a little accident. Oh, I don't want to hurt Tere. Not her, dummy, you. Get me a hammer. Huh? She tells him hold out your hand, I'll smash one of your fingers, and Teresa will be forced to let you stay. Gil freaks, will it hurt? I can't look. Then close your eyes. One, two, she slams the hammer down on his HEAD, leaving him bloody and dazed. Wha...why...but... Then she pushes the huge bookshelf down on him, breaking his arm, and sending him into shock. There. That'll do it. Just tell Teresa you were trying to move the bookshelf the way she always wanted, and it slipped. She'll have to let you stay. Now here's the phone, call 911. Gil groans into the receiver, help, I'm dying. “See ya, toots!” whistles Julia, and struts out, grinning like a Cheshire cat. (I know she's bad, but to me she's just so damn sexy. That red bare midriff outfit she wore to school so inappropriately just did me in!
What's the latest in jail. Javier has been picked up, and his story exactly matches Gonzalo's. So Gonzo is telling the truth, and Andrés is sinkin' fast. In fact, Orlando tells Nena, with Andrés killing Freddy and being behind the death of Manuel, he has no choice but to request the death penalty! Nena wants Benita and she to stay friends anyway. Leo is so mad at his Dad he can hardly control himself. Dad, if it's proven that you caused the death of my girlfriend's parents, and she leaves me, I'll NEVER forgive you. Leo also tells his Mom the two of them will get jobs (she's selling her dresses since the accounts are frozen), and start over. Gonzalo is actually released, and Benita is overjoyed, except that Gonzo wants revenge on Liz and Leo. He tells his Jefa to tell Nena he'll never forget all her help (Benita finds this a little weird), but he's gotta do what he's gotta do. Uh oh!
This time, JP's plan works perfectly. He installs little microphones in Miranda's bedroom, opens the window Mau likes to come through, and while Miranda's in the shower (this is a very clean cast of characters you know, always showering), takes Mir's phone, texts Mau come over NOW, you know the window! Mau was busy being lectured by Olivia how he's getting 10 years for obstruction of justice for stealing the dvd, but he leaves instantly, driving Olivia crazy. She tells Carmen she's sure Mau is with Miranda. She wants to turn him in, she HAS to turn him in or she'll be implicated, but she just can't, she loves him more than anything in the world. Carmen begs her not to turn in Mau, and the two of them then figure out that Miranda may be pregnant, and maybe it's Mauricio's baby. No, this can't be happening, wails Carmen.
Meanwhile, Mauricio scoots over to Mir's house, bounds through the window, surprising her, just out of the shower. Here I am! But I didn't call you! Yes, you did, look at this text. But I never sent a text. Next door, JP and Olivares are monitoring this. Maybe Mir and Mau will smell a rat. Maybe not, as Mau agrees to leave, but not before rubbing Miranda's tummy, talking to the baby, saying I love you, my child, and kissing Miranda. Well, THAT secret's out. And JP is hotter than Tabasco sauce. NOW how do you feel? Olivares turns the screw a bit. See why you should kill them? JP's tempted, but tells Oli he's got a plan, which will make them suffer way MORE (the baby stealing plan). He'll bide his time for now, even though he's a cuckold.
Joaco and Yesi show up at the trailer, and Mau and Olivia (this was actually earlier) greet them joyfully. But Olivia wants that dvd. Yesi tries to take responsibility to protect her bro'. But Olivia isn't buying it, and informs Joaco he could get ten years for obstruction of justice, just like Mau. She wants that dvd back in 24 hours. Somehow, she's not even moved by Joaco's super body after HE takes a shower!
Joaco still thinks he has to kill Henry the chauffeur to save Yesi. Victor is trying to leave the country. Gonzo's out for bear. Pati's Mom and ex are plotting to make her marry Augusto (Ivana gets a report on Joaco I'm sure she'll find fascinating). And we KNOW Andrés isn't going down without a fight. This show is heading for a climax, as it's reaching the boiling point!
Thank you for a great recap. I truly enjoyed the episode. Was so happy that Sam did not take that pill.
Silly me I thought the Reptile was setting up JJ for JMs parents death. When JJ was telling Reptile how ugly she used to be I thought okay you are done.
Now if Angela could get some of Sam's spunk. Now that Angela knows about her Mom I wonder how she's going to react.
Thanks so much for all your great recaps, Hombre.
I'll read them later.
I'm getting gussied up and then driving to San Francisco for a retirement party. Ye Gods, my friends are retiring from their jobs! This friend put in 25 years working for the State of California and survived all the purges during the economic crisis.
CORAZON VALIENTE:
Muchas gracias Novelera. I am glad that it looks like Sam's ordeal will come to an end soon, or at least like Willy will come out his stupid stupor and realize Sam needs his help. It's just sloppy writing that Willy would so quickly believe Sam would ditch him. Even in the moments when she was most disappointed in him, she NEVER stopped protecting him or risking her life for him. Makes no sense that he would just take someone else's word for it that Sam said she's too occupied to care about him being found alive!
It feels like they are throwing a lot of random stories and characters at us. It must mean it's time for a new crop of people to die. I'm hoping for Jorible Josfina or Evil Estela. I know the Reptile won't bite it till the end.
Thanks for the recaps! I've been a day behind all last week, so I couldn't post. We are officially in "una nueva estapa." They are throwing the new characters around left and right. Hate the story with the obsessed jefe and the mil from hell. Please, like she could get temporary custody of Gen in a matter of days......Everyone but the writers know that grandparents have no rights when it comes to custody issues.
Couple points from last week that still annoy me.
• JM, a criminal defense lawyer, comes into a crime scene and the first thing he does is pick up the murder weapon. I need to put my beanie on for this. Then, the cops don't question the night watch man, he declares a statement after the reptile gives him money. And, shouldn't there be some security cameras somewhere?
• Willy gives the video cassette of Manuel's confession to the dirty secretary to change over to DVD. Come on, they are in LA and he can't drop it off at some Quick Photo place himself. Well, the jokes on her, 'cause you can't drive the 405 and put lipstick on at the same time. What this a telemundo atempt at a PSA? Maybe she should have been texting behind the wheel.
• I too was a little mad that they killed off luis like that, these henchmen came out of nowhere. I guess we are suppose to figure Luis was a bad guy and was doing other bad guy stuff aside from he vengeance on the other cast members. I'll miss him, he was starting to be one of my favorites. Or his arms were...
Back to work. Jewels
One of the things which sometimes bugs me about telenovelas is that the good guys are always so stupid! The bad guys have all sorts of schemes, which usually work for a while, until maybe another bad guy messes things up. The good guys are always gullible, and if THEY ever have a plan, it fails miserably (usually because they told one of the bad guys what they were doing). Juan Marcos is typical of the stupid good guys.
One of the very few smart good guys I remember was Ricardo in Pasión. He actually figured out what the bad guys were doing, and outsmarted them. He also didn't hesitate to kill various bad guys, and always was one step ahead of the bad guys. In the end, the most evil bad guy was pretty much dismembered, piece by piece, which was very satisfying, and the main bad gal lost all her money and had to walk off, blind and penniless, and the other main bad guy pretty much had to work for all the good guys. Now THAT was a smart hero, to bring all that about (of course, it was Fernando Colunga in the role).
Actually, I may have mixed up a few novelas. But the fact remains, that was a smart hero. Isn't that the one where William Levy played a dumb stableboy, who had to "service" some rich blonde, and he had long blond hair, and rarely wore a shirt?
Ahh! Passion! One of my all-time favs! Lots of great actors in that one, including William Levy. Fina from CME was a good mom in that one. The wigs always crack me up. I like the historical TV and the short ones are usually the best. You get to cut out the sucky middle with all the new characters and plots that don't make sense just to lengthen the novel.
Jewels
Thanks, guys, for reminding me of Pasión. I think Colunga has script approval or something. He never seems to play a dumb galán. The baddies occasionally get the best of him, but it's never because he's too dumb to figure out who the bad guys are!
I remember how we female fans adored that scene of Colunga leaning on the rigging of his pirate ship!!!
Hombre, finally had a chance to read all your recaps, thank you very much. I'm enthralled with this TN, and I feel foolish for not watching it on a regular basis.
I am awed by the actors who play Olivia and now Augusto. I just can't believe it as I'm watching them now on Corazon Apasionado where they play teenage/young lovers. It's just amazing. These TN's are only 1 year apart.
LOL - I remember shouting out to William Levy to cut his hair, cut your hair. Love Fernando in this, but I think I was the only one who liked Daniela Castro. I was rooting for her.
The miserable jerk who runs the manicomio puts his hand over Sammy’s mouth and then hangs up the phone. The guy doesn’t know who he’s dealing with. Sam knees him in the jewels and runs.
Vicente tells the Reptile Juan Marcos will never believe Ángela is a murderer.
Gabriel denies everything that Peralta said about what he did to Emma’s paintings. Peralta says he arranged everything about the show to get money out of her. Emma can’t believe Gabriel would do that and asks Peralta if he said it because he was jealous. Big mistake.
Willy grabs the phone, but it’s too late for him to speak to Sam. He doesn’t understand what happened. Jorrible Josefina [it appears the majority prefer JJ to HJ] comes in and recognizes Willy from the news.
Sam is captured and four guys have a hard time holding her down. Larry (the head of the manicomio) calls Jefe and tells him he can’t have Sam here any more. She’s dangerous.
Jefe has an encounter with Guadalupe, his ex, in the street. She doesn’t want him with Sam.
The Reptile tries to get more money out of Vicente for her “frame Ángela” scheme. She wants to hire some experts. She promises to buy a gorgeous wedding dress after this is all over. But she doesn’t want to sleep with him; she wants to be a “virgin” for him on their wedding night. Please.
Willy doesn’t want to impose on Lorena any more. He tells her she can go home, but of course she’s already smitten and doesn’t want to go. She tells him he can’t forget Sammy, can he? He says he can’t. Lorena gushes on and on about how good Willy is even after Sam abandoned him. He tells her he’ll love her his whole life.
Willy calls the number Sam called Ángela’s cell phone from. Larry answers and says there’s no one here by that name. Willy keeps insisting. Jefe grabs the phone and listens, but he doesn’t recognize the voice. Peralta, using his head, says someone at the agency can find out where that phone number originates.
JM is anxiously awaiting the call from Halcón about a meeting place to find out who the “Jefa” is who arrange all the murders. Show of hands: How many think Halcón will ever tell the truth?
Jorrible Josefina comes in and says she’s leaving Casa Arroyo with Génesis. She got some kind of order from a judge that says she can take the child where she likes.
Peralta can’t stay mad at Emma. But she should have unquestioningly believed him.
Odd Ofelia tells the Reptile that Evil Estela knows a lot of things about Despicable Dad. The Reptile asks her straight out if she wants her to kill her or what.
Vicente says something to the Reptile about JJ that makes me think they were the ones who arranged for JJ to show up on the scene.
The Jorrible one has come to Génesis and tells her to pack; she’s leaving with her. The poor child is sobbing, saying she doesn’t want to go.
Jefe has an idea to calm down Sam. She’s restrained with leather handcuffs to her bed. Larry comes and tells her they found Willy’s body and he’s been buried. What a**holes!
I’m still not sure if JJ is in cahoots with the Reptile and Vicente. When JM begs her and asks what she wants to not take Génesis, she says she won’t do it if he and Ángela don’t get married. JM asks her if she’s completely crazy. But Abnegada Ángela agrees.
Cecilia comes to speak to Ángela. She tells the truth about the cell phone mixup and her pretending to be Sam when Lorena called. She said she wanted to go there and be the one to get Willy. But her brush with death made her change her mind. Willy overhears this. [I can’t believe that blue sequined skirt Ángela’s been wearing in the daytime for about a week!]
Willy has an ear to ear smile. He says: “Mi Navarro no me abandonó!
The Reptile hates Josefina Uriarte a whole lot. She tells Vicente killing her will be like a bachelorette party before her wedding. She then asks Odd Ofelia what DD knew about Josefina.
Ángela tells Violeta they must leave for a while and there won’t be a wedding. She apologizes for doubting her about the calls from the Rat. She tells her he won’t ever be back.
Sam gets free again and punches out the nurse. She puts on the nurse’s uniform. Willy shows up calling himself Nicolás Diblassi and that he’s looking for Samantha Sandoval Navarro. Larry is unnerved. He asks if he was the one who called and how did he get the address. Willy tells him he’ll search the whole place to find her. Larry orders him to leave. Willy says he’ll bring the police back with him
JJ tells the Reptile that JM and Ángela won’t be getting married.
Sam manages to get outside and finds Arturo waiting for her. There’s a joyful reunion, and one of the security guys of the place gives her a ride. Of course, this being a telenovela, Willy comes outside, but Sam doesn’t see him before the guard drives her off.
The Reptile pretends to be upset their wedding is off. She says that she and Vicente will wait in solidarity. She says she knows how to control JJ. While JJ listens, Fernanda tells JM and Ángela that her father knows lots about JJ. Did they know that Isabel was in a clinic with her face disfigured because of JJ? She did it because Isabel didn’t want to be in beauty pageants. She says that JJ shouldn’t care for Génesis or any other child. She’ll give all the info to the lawyers [Why is the Reptile helping so much??]
Sam asks to be left at the cemetery. She is looking for Willy’s grave.
The Jefe is furious with Larry. He wants to know how they let her escape. He tells Larry he better find her or he’ll kill him. I have a hunch Sam was too drugged to realize that Jefe is the one who brought her to the clinic. I don't think we've seen the last of his plotting.
JM says that he’s beginning to realize what Isabel suffered having Jorrible Josefina for a mother.
Willy finds the security guy and gets him to take him to where he left Samantha. Arturo runs up to Willy and then leads him to Sam. We see a very tender reunion.
Someone arrives at Casa Arroyo. He says he’s Camilo Martinez, the brother of Luis. Ángela appears to have heard of this brother. In comes a blonde, clean-shaven person identical to the Rat, with a pleasant smile on his face. Hmmmm. I laughed out loud!
great recap novelera !!!
no one uses phone books any more but I've noticed some of the ones I get have a section where you look up the number and it gives you the info.
wow, the Reptile lit up when she heard the name Halcón,
I'm thinking the Reptile is helping out,
because JJ will be the next victum,
with the "gun",
that Angela now has,
I didn't think Camilo Martinez had a pleasent smile,
this guy scares me,
(is this really Gabriel Valenzuela, he is so weird, at TW they mentioned that he and Aylin Mujica are seperated, but that their daughter's name is Violeta)

Novelera, this recap was excellent. I laughed out loud at seeing the Rat 2.0. But then I was totally creeped out. That color hair and eyebrows make him look like Chucky. This is totally the Rat pretending to be his brother. He survived the explosion somehow*. (We know that we will never see how he survived because the writers of this show can't be bothered with thinking up this stuff. They just jump right to the miraculous result without showing us how.)
I am so ready for someone to kill Josefina. I think I want her dead more than I want Estela dead. Please, please writers. Can we get the Reptile working on this? She seems to really be itching to kill somebody.
Novelera, thank you for your great recap. I love that you laughed out loud as I did to see Rat 2.0 enter.
Vivi, how did you do that, I was wondering what Rat 2.0 reminded me of, and you hit it on the head Chucky. Wow excellent.
And how many times has Angela told Violeta there won't be a wedding and/or that they are leaving the house the next day?
I wish we had a full one hour episode of Willy and Sam, or maybe in the future The Willy and Sam drama hour or please a spanish version of the Thin Man series!!!
Super recap, Novelera!!
I was happy that the separation of Willy and Sam was short. I agree that she will probably not remember El Jefe's involvement but Willy ought to be asking Jefe some questions like why he said that Sam was on assignment.
So you folks think this is Rat 2.0? Could be. It would be easy to find out if these folks had half a brain: comparing his DNA to Violeta's would determine whether he was a parent or uncle; the Rat was in prison - his fingerprints would be on file. Not to mention that no one has asked any questions about Rat 1.0's death. Was a body found in the car? Were the police called? Things like that. But I'm sure you are right, Vivi, the writers will ignore the holes in the plot and just leap to the next development.
I've never wanted anyone killed as much as I want JJ to die. Come on, Reptile, do some good by doing bad for a change.
Thanks for the recap, Novelera! Vivi, I agree, this is probably the Rat in disguise. I don't think we will need a DNA test. I think he'll say something to Violeta, but we'll see.
Yes, I agree Josefina has to be killed. While they're at it, couldn't Fernanda just take that whole generation (Josefina, Bernardo, Ofelia, Estela) on some trip, and leave them there?
Thanks, Deb. I never did get Bermuda shorts, but the beach was beautiful.
This was an episode of warnings, of threats. Not a whole lot happened, but they set up everything to come.
Miranda receives flowers from JP. He's mad as hell at her for telling Mau about the baby, but he's playing it cool for now (until the baby is born).
Miranda advises Pati on whether to marry Augusto when she loves Joaco. "Follow your heart." Okay. Pati says she loves Joaco totally, but if he ever hid anything from her....Also, if anyone knew where that dvd is, which caused the death of her beloved mentor, that person should definitely speak up.....I'm guessing Joaco may have problems here. Ominous.
Here's a threat. Victor's henchman calls Joaco, we found Henry, you have to kill him by tomorrow, or we'll take it out on Yesenia. More ominous.
Victor's on his way to Mexico, and JP hears from Pati the name of Victor, calls Walt in Mexico, and they're going to intercept Victor and take him to their drug lair. So Victor isn't as smart as he thought!
Gonzalo calls Leo, I'm coming for you, bro. Leo's not scared, he's got the tape. But Gonzo says he'll take it out on Liz. Don't you touch her! Gonzo says, I'll hurt you where it hurts the most! Another threat.
Then we have Diego meet Alejo in the forest somewhere. Alejo says come out of the closet. Diego give Ale a tender hug. Allright, says Ale, that's progress. But Diego also gives Alejo the book on how to "cure" homosexuality. It was written by a scientist, how could it be wrong? Later, Diego has dinner with his Dad Hector, Nora and Lupe (Nora's Mom). Hector sort of forces the kids to "announce" their "commitment". Both parents are up for this, Hector, since it'll make sure his son isn't gay, and Lupe, since if Nora marries Diego, she becomes "legal". The kids aren't to into it, though.
The paramedics come to rescue poor Gilberto. His arm is broken, and later, Hector says there may be nerve damage, he may not be able to play guitar too well again. WE know that Gilberto sucks as a guitar player, but HE thinks he's pretty hot, and gets outraged at what Julia did to him. Julia says, no prob, just sue Teresa. Ana is also sick, and Gil, always alert to trickery, susses out that Julia is poisoning Ana. It doesn't show up on the blood test, since Julia's too clever and is controlling the dose. But Gil tells Julia, I'm going to try to get the money from Teresa. But if Ana dies, you get ZIP, and I'll turn you in to the cops!!! Another threat.
Now for the biggest threat of all. Olivia and Carmen, suspecting Miranda is pregnant with Mau's kid, have come up with a master plan. Olivia (with Carmen sort of eavesdropping) tells Mau, I've gotten too emotionally attached to this case. I'm dropping it, and we're going to assign a new investigator. And by the way, you'll have to give the new detective all the info, and you and Miranda will have to take blood tests! (Say what?!) It's just routine, you know (mentirosa). Mau realizes that this could show that Miranda is pregnant, and that it's his kid. Miranda would go to jail, and lose the kid. This is precisely what Olivia and Carmen want! Mauricio tries to get Olivia to reconsider, tries to be nice to her, she even kisses him, but he doesn't kiss back enough. So she's going ahead with this.
This sets the scene for some desperate action. NO WAY will Mau allow tests to be taken, which could jeopardize his and Miranda's child. But how can they ESCAPE this? Tune in to find out!
Oh, and I forgot. JP also receive some weird package about the size of a painting, but thicker. I've no clue what it was. But at the end of the episode, he stealthily enters Miranda's room, sees Miranda and Pati sleeping in the bed, and approaches with a screwdriver in his hand!!!!!
I laughed out loud too at the Rat 2.0. The blond hair makes him look creepy, but I was thinking twin brother.
Glad Sam and Willy are back together. Hope the new girl doesn't make too much trouble for them. I'm just glad they did go the amnesia route with Willy.
Thought it was ironic that Cecilia (who I thought died) confessed to Angela about the phone call, but didn't mention Angie and Sam are sisters. I guess the near death experience will only go so far.
Why is the ex-esposa del jefe so against Sam? Is this the other missing daughter of Manuel? Does she even know Sam? Anyone but Sam is okay with her????
I can't even watch the JJ scenes. I don't think she has a connection with the reptile or Vicente. When she saw them at JMs house, I didn't catch any vibe.
Jewels
Besides asking El Jefe why he thought Sammy was on assignment when she was being held against her will in a psychiatric hospital, I'd be asking how a DNA test showed that a corpse was Rat when he wasn't actually dead?
It was too bad that the Reptile was right there when JM got the call from Halcon and said his name aloud. Her ears perked right up. It doesn't look to good for his life expectancy.
Good point Jean. Also, if Willy was staking out the mental hospital, why didn't he see el jefe coming and going?
Jewels
Jewels, I thought the same thing about Cunning Cecelia not coming completely clean and admitting what she heard/saw on the whole Miguel tape. Que?!
I also have no idea wife El Jefe's wife has such a chip on her shoulder when it comes to Sam, versus any other woman her husband might be obsessed with. And hey lady, he's obsessed with her. Not the other way around!
Vivi and Jewels, in the episode when Guadalupe, Jefe's ex, was first introduced she was yelling at Jefe that his obsession with Samantha was the reason their marriage broke up. She appears to have given up on their marriage, but she doesn't want the (in her mind) other woman to have him.
Jewels, Willy wasn't staking out the nuthouse. He only was there the one time, arrived, and immediately went in. This was when Jefe was still in his car, finding out over the phone that Samantha had escaped. Willy was only there a short while and left. So he never saw Jefe come and go.
Jean, I had to google twin fingerprints, thinking they might be the same. But you were right. They are more similar than other unrelated people, but still different enough that a comparison would prove that "Blondie" either is or is not the Rat.
Of course, if it is the Rat, he'll have to say he's Camilo's twin. We'll find out tonight if the Rat having a twin is a big surprise to Ángela or not. She did mention last night that she knew about the brother.
Also, did they ever say they found any "remnants" of the Rat? I thought it was just Vikingo who knew he was in the car and may have told the police.
It's not uncommon for an actor to play two parts in a TN. I still think it will be a brother and not the Rat 2.0. Should be interesting to see where this leads.
Everyone needs to put there beanies on for this. Even if they did a DNA test, how many times have we seen the test tampered with.
Jewels
We have just started posting weekly discussion headers for Amorcito Corazon (at the end of the week) and we are wondering how you handle the discussions.
Thank you for letting me interrupt.
Cap'n Sylvia, the only reason why there were lots of recaps of Relaciones in a row was that I had been on vacation. Usually I do one each day from the previous night.
Okay, JP doesn't kill Pati or Miranda with the screwdriver. The next morning, he surprises Miranda with a cute baby crib. Pati is excited, Miranda somewhat. At the library, JP leaves a card for Miranda, saying I know you don't love me, but at least I can try to make you happy. He keeps trying to win her over.
This is not received well by his brother Walt in Mexico. Yes, they've picked up Victor, but I was floored with what happened. Walt greets Vic warmly, and they both talk about opening up the drug trade in Miami. Walt says there's just one problem. I have an associate in Miami who is reluctant, and is hung up on some woman. I need him separated from the dame. No prob, says Vic, I know a babe who can seduce him. He shows Walt a picture of Monica! So Monica is going to have the job of seducing JP!!!!
Monica, meanwhile, calls Andres to tell him she's done with him, she only liked him for his checkbook, and now that his accounts are frozen, it's goodbye, buddy. She hangs up. Then Nena visits Andres, and he says at least YOU will support me, won't you? Nah. She tells him he's being transferred tomorrow to a maximum security prison, and he doesn't even anger, or pity. In fact, he's DEAD to her. She walks out, leaving him tearing his hair out.
Even though Gonzalo is a free man, Bob has reached HIS wits end, and tells Benita he can't raise Emily with Gonzo around. So he takes Emily away, bags packed, despite the pleas of Benita. Gonzalo tells his Mom he'll help get Emily back.
Leo wants to see Liz, but Yesi won't let him. Leo says Liz is in danger, but Yesi says Gonzo will probably take revenge on Leo. As usual, Yesi is wrong.
Mau goes to see a lawyer who tells him there are only two choices, keep things the same, and hope the new detective, if there is one, doesn't ask for pregnancy tests, or Miranda declares herself guilty, and gets three years. But if that happened, it would be unlikely that Mau would get custody, unless his Mom supported him (which she won't). Mau wants to leave the country, but the lawyer says that there could be extradition, and if something goes wrong, everything would be much worse.
JP has a new, and quite strange plan. He goes to Olivia, and tells her Miranda is pregnant, and it's Mauricio's baby. Olivia is shocked beyond belief. She suspected this, but why would JP come right out and tell her? She'll have HIM arrested, too, as an accomplice. He goes, why stop at that? I also erased the fingerprints on the window and destroyed love letters when you checked Miranda's apartment. Now Olivia's REALLY puzzled. What's your game? JP just says, I'm giving you total evidence to have Miranda and me arrested and jailed. Huh?
Teresa of course agrees to let the injured Gilberto stay in her house. After she leaves, Julia arrives, and says everything is going perfectly. Be her friend, seduce her, and we have the money. Gil agrees, but says promise me you'll stop poisoning Ana, or you don't get a cent. She promises. He says I hope it isn't too late.
Maybe it is, as Ana takes another sip of coffee, and faints, unconscious to the floor of her office. Santiago discovers her, Diego takes her pulse, and they rush her to the hospital.
Mauricio meets with Miranda a few times in secret to tell her how dire things are. But he still thinks they'll end up together with the baby. But outside her house, he runs into Olivares, and RECOGNIZES him! He knows that's the guy names Ignacio who came to the school and denounced JP as being some kind of fake. What's he doing next to Miranda's house? Mau goes in, and tells Miranda, have you seen a 50 something guy, white hair? Sure, that's nice Mr. Conti. No, I don't think so. Something's fishy here. This definitely will shake up the plans of JP and Olivares.
But as for JP, we find out his plan. He tells Olivia, you love Mauricio, and I love Miranda. But we've both lost them. There's no way Mauricio will ever go to you, even if Miranda goes to jail, he'll just wait years, and then they'll get together. So you can turn everybody in now, or we could work together. If you use my knowledge, and the FEAR of jail, maybe we can manipulate them to do what we really want. Olivia is awed. “I've known lots of criminals. But I've never known someone who can manipulate people as much as you.” She ain't kidding!!!!
I meant to say that NENA didn't feel anger or pity for Andres.
And one more shocking thing happened. Joaco goes to an abandoned warehouse, looks like the same place where Andres tortured Gonzalo. Victor's henchman says all you have to do is search this place, and then kill Henry. He leaves, Joaco says to himself, this smells like a trap. He searches around a little, opens a locker, and Henry's body falls out onto him. At this precise moment, Bad Cop Pedro Garcia comes down the steps saying, Joaquin Rivera, you're under arrest for the murder of Henry!!!
And ALSO, Pati tells Augusto she can't marry him, because she loves another man. Little does she know that man's just been arrested for murder!
Hombre, pardon the visual, but I almost snorted my wine all over my laptop.
Thank you Hombre, only saw the first 10 minutes of this what a powerful episode. So finally all the women have left Andres, long time coming.
I can't believe they are going to try to seduce JP, never would have imagined that. Almost forgot what a creep JP is, when I saw the crib. But I stopped and paid attention when I heard Pati screaming. I thought JP had mutilated something.
How many weeks left on this, 3? They keep announcing the new one starts in verano, I'm assuming they mean the first week of July.
Kind of a weird choppy episode. It was hard to take notes. I think a lot of this episode was adjusting the plot to accommodate the absence of Manuel Landeto, the actor who plays Bernie, aka, Despicable Dad.
Joyful reunion of Sam and Willy. Willy repeats over and over to the groggy Sam that he’s not dead. Then says, “Estoy muerto cuando me faltas tú,” “I’m dead when you are absent.” Sam passes out. Willy takes her to JM’s house and Dr. Lorena says that she has been oversedated.
JM and Ángela´s reaction to the appearance of Camilo [it is not clear that this is the resusitated Rat so for now, I will call him Camilo] was funny. JM just looked like a deer in the headlights while Ángela smiled mechanically every once in a while. Camilo tells Ángela that he knows the Rat treated her badly and he is sorry for that. Camilo is introduced to Violeta.
El Jefe comes to JM’s house. His story is that he put Sam in the clinic because he feared her grief for Willy was so great that she would harm herself. [No one asks the obvious question – why did you tell everyone that Sam was on an assignment? JM the lawyer should know how difficult it is to get an involuntary commitment of someone. Time to call the authorities about this ‘clinic.’] JM tells Jefe that Sam is in his house. Then Jorible Josefina tells him that Willy is alive.
Vincente tells the Reptile that he isn’t going to wait for marriage to have sex with her. He wants it now. She seems to have a mental flashback to all her previous lovers and agrees saying that it will be the first time she has had sex with someone who truly loves her.
Estupida Estela is in a bar crying into her drink and telling the bored bartender that she could have lived like a queen with DD. Her phone rings and it’s DD saying that his enemies have found him and he’s about to be killed. Then she hears an explosion and we see a boat exploding.
Vincente can’t get it up for the Reptile. So much for love.
Camilo comes to see the Reptile. The Rat told him to seek her out if he needed help. He tells her that he has no money and needs a job – a legal job.
Willy tells Sam that DD planned her kidnapping when she was a girl. Sam is impactada.
EE comes to JM’s house to tell everyone about her phone call. She collapses and handy old Dr. Lorena is there to minister to her. Jefe is there as well and he says that he will find out what happened. Eventually we find out that DD was in an explosion but he isn’t dead. He is in bad shape though.
Willy is pretending to have suffered amnesia about what happened right before the plane crash. He still thinks that DD was behind the plane crash and just in case EE is in league with him, he will pretend that he doesn’t remember what DD told him about the Sam’s kidnapping.
Jefe is still pretending that some guy named Taylor is after Sam but he is confused about what is actually going on and has his henchmen try and find out.
Génesis and Violeta hatch a plan to get rid of JJ. Génesis calls the police and accuses JJ of some horrible things. The police have been totally out of the picture for all the crimes that have happened lately – the most recent kidnapping of Sam; the explosion of Willy’s plane; the death of the Rat but Inspector Duval shows up at JM’s house in response to Génesis’ call.
Willy and Sam go to the hospital and guess what? DD is bandaged like a mummy so he can be played by another actor.
JM goes to meet Halcón to get the info on who is behind all the killings. Obviously, the Reptile has made this a part of her plan because Halcón tells JM that Ángela is the woman who was the Rat´s jefe and is the mastermind of all the crimes.
Great recap, Jean! Wow, never a dull moment on this show. I note that Genesis said to Violeta, do you think that could be your Dad in disguise? And Reptile called him Luis by accident a few times. So, there's still a strong possibility it is Luis. One might think that since Angela and Luis were married for years, Angela would have met his family even if they lived in Mexico, but I guess not.
Even though the doctors said DD would almost probably not last the night, it's pretty certain he'll be fine, while that substitute actor can be inside the bandages, as Jean said.
Just because Jefe is head of a bodyguard agency doesn't make him a cop. It's ridiculous how many laws he's breaking. He's really got to be stopped.
The catfight between Ofelia and Estela was amusing. Who won?
Thanks, Jean, great recap!
Hombre, you brought up a constant complaint for me. Why the heck do all fights with women in telenovelas show inept, quasi-comical hairpulling. Even when Sam went after Estela it was the same thing. This is the woman who we've seen deliver several knockout punches to MEN.
I'm getting bored with Lorena. They keep putting the camera on her face as she grimaces and looks disgusted at Willy and Sam's pleasure at being together again.
I was wondering if they'll go with someone else being under the bandages and DD having set up the whole thing.
I thought it was hysterical that Vicente was incapaz when his longed-for romp with the Reptile finally happened.
They're teasing us with Camilo. He told the Reptile he needed money. I'm waiting for him to ask for a wad of money (Luis) but he just asks for help in getting an honest job!
At some point in the episode JJ said she'd changed her plan. JM and Ángela can get married after all. I assume this is because of what the Reptile said about her disfiguring Isabel. She didn't react much, but the Reptile has Vicente working on getting the proof.
And why the heck doesn't Sam seem to remember that she was drugged, groggy and out of it for quite a while before El Jefe even took her to the manicomio?
Excellent recap Jean. Thank you.
They are toying with us as to whether this is the Rat 2.0 or his brother. I still say it's the Rat. I thought I saw a brief flicker as Violetta greeted him.
I feel sorry for the writers having to write around Manuel L's illness. However, this team of writers isn't known for their logical storylines anyway, so any twist is fair game (with no explantion or details given).
I also thought it was hilarious that after all these YEARS and iterrupted moments, Vicente can't follow through in the bedroom with the Reptile. Maybe his little friend has more brains than he does...
Thanks to you Jean for a great recap.
I think someone mentioned Isabel's sister Paula last night, chances are she will show up too? Also, when Sammy mentioned to Lorena how lucky that Willy was to be rescued by a doctor, Lorena said something like "actually, I'm a specialist in fertility".
Too bad about Landeto's medical problems, he was one of the main engines that drove the plot. But I'm confused about why Willy thinks Bernardo is the one trying to have him killed. Is that really true?
J in Oregon
J in Oregon, thanks for mentioning the sister. I had forgotten that. I'm looking forward to seeing her.
Willy's plane was sabotaged by the Rat, who thought he would be killing Samantha. She wasn't well enough to go thanks to El Jefe feeding her weird substances. So Willy was the one who went down, and Sam was not on board.
Willy thinks his father sabotaged the plane because, shortly before he was ready to leave on that business trip for the company in which the Arroyos and del Castillos are partners, he overheard his father telling Estela that he was the one who planned Samantha's kidnapping. He then angrily confronted DD and told him he was going to tell Sammy. Willy thinks his father tried to kill him so that Sam would never know what he'd done, something that would finish his chances with her.
Hombre, una pregunta. Is Augusto really going to die in a few months or is this a plot by Pati's evil mother to get her to marry him?
Augusto is such a fake! We suspected it previously, but now we know. Pati tells him, sorry, can't marry you, love another guy. Her Mom reams her out, but Pati's made her decision (however, see below). After Pati leaves, Augusto TWIRLS his little cane, so he's not even sick! He tells Ivana, don't worry, I'll trap the little one. After Ivana leaves, Augusto says to himself, I'll get both things, the girl I wanted, and her family's money! The doofus doesn't realize Ivana's in the poorhouse now.
So let's check in with our other characters. Ana fainted, presumably from Julia's poison. Hope, she's pregnant! Yes, despite the fact that she's STILL GETTING HER PERIOD, she fainted, and that is the scientific cause of pregnancy now. Who knew? Ooops, she doesn't know who the Dad is. It could be Santi, but she also had farewell sex with Gil around the same time 8 weeks ago. She tells the doc not to tell anyone. Later, she tells Miranda, and tells HER not to tell. Hasn't told Santiago yet!
Gonzalo comes into Liz's house, and she's terrified of him. Get out! Leo pops out of the woodwork, and she tells them both, get out! I don't need anyone! She calls Orlando, send a patrol car, I heard some noises! They go outside, threaten each other, and Leo (maybe) sends the video of Gonzalo giving drugs to Rodrigo and Osvaldo to all his contacts! At least he says he is, but we just see him press a few buttons on his phone.
Liz wants to fight Ricardo's will. She wants her money, but if not, she'll live in Yesi's trailer, anything as long as the old bag (she uses the word "tipa", or type) Teresa is out of my life!
What about Olivares being recognized by Mauricio? JP says don't worry, the only person who saw me at school that day was Teresa, who's destroyed by her ex-husband's death, and someone else who won't bother us. And I'm taking care of Mau. Besides, I'm going to Mexico, want to come with me? Olivares thinks this is a good idea. But after JP is alone, he tells Walt, let's ELIMINATE this guy when he gets to Mexico!
Walt's other plan, to seduce JP with Monica, sort of works. Walt tells JP to deliver some money to a contact named Monica. JP thinks this is weird, but does it. Monica greet him in lingerie, and wants to reward him. JP does have sex with her, and even agrees to see her again. But I think JP is so cold, he can easily separate this fun sex from his continuing feelings for Miranda.
He gives her another gift, a necklace with hearts, so he'll always be close to her heart. She still feels guilty about not loving him.
Pati and Yesi go to the police station where Joaco has been charged with murder. Joaco tells Garcia you must be a crooked cop, showing up 1 second after the body falls on me! But Pedro Garcia says he's a punk, and no one will believe him.
Yesi tells Olivia the truth about the dvd and the kidnapping, and that Joaco HAD to kill Henry. But he couldn't have, he would never hurt a fly. Pati realizes she's going to need BIG MONEY for a defense attorney.
Olivia has agreed to JP's plan. She won't turn anyone in, they'll both manipulate Mau and Mir. She tells Mau she knows Miranda is pregnant! She intimidates Miranda into admitting she's pregnant (but not by Mau). JP decides to announce the wonderful pregnancy at the teachers' meeting. So the pressure is really on. Mau is getting desperate, tells Miranda he, she and the baby should escape.
Pati overhears! Later, she tells Miranda, we're in the same boat. You married JP to keep a lid on the fact that you're expecting his baby. And I need money for Joaco's defense. I'm going to marry Augusto for the money!
But things REALLY get interesting when Miranda says Mauricio talked about escaping. Well, you could, says Pati. My family has houses in Russia, and if you want, you, Mauricio and the baby could escape to Russia, and we'll help you!!
I don't think they're going to Russia, but I do think there's only about 3 weeks left, so something's gotta give!
I meant to say "Nope, she's pregnant" not "Hope, she's pregnant".
Whoops! So now we have Miranda pregnant despite Mau's using protection both times, and Ana pregnant despite getting her period. Did I miss something in Sex Ed 101? Something to do with fainting?
Willy and Sam go into Despicable Dad’s hosptial room. They have gowns and hairnets but no surgical masks, which would be more effective in preventing the transmission of germs but also cover our actors’ faces. Willy wants answers from DD but since he is intubated, he’s not going to answer. Willy gets dragged out of the room shouting at DD not to die.
Halcón tells JM again that his novia, Ángela, is the one responsible for all the murders. JM refuses to believe it.
The Reptile tells Vincente that she wants to have a wedding right away even if they can’t do a double wedding with JM and Ángela. Vincente is understandably suspicious of the Reptile’s motives. He says that he feels like a piece in a puzzle.
Ángela is suspicious of Jorrible Josefina’s sudden change of mind on Ángela marrying JM. JJ doesn’t offer any explanations. She says that it’s a take it or leave it offer.
Lorena tells Willy and Sam that she has decided to forget the past, get a job and start a new life in LA. Willy offers to let her stay in his house until she finds a place of her own. Sam is not enthusiastic but she recognizes the debt that Willy owes to Lorena.
El Jefe tells Sam that Dr. Levin, head of the clinic where Sam was held, has left the country. Jefe tells his sidekick that he is lying to Sam because she must never suspect that he was involved.
Emma gives Peralta an ultimatum. She is packed up and moving out of JM’s house. He can come with her or not.
JJ comes to the hospital ostensibly to see DD but she finds the Reptile and says that she may be marrying Vincente but JJ suspects that she is in love with JM. JJ asks the Reptile to help her keep JM from marrying Ángela.
Sam tells Willy that she knows that he is a, “mujeriego impedernino,” a hardened woman chaser, and won’t change. She tells him to be careful with Lorena. He protests that he only loves her.
JM tells Ángela that Halcón accused her of the murders but that he doesn’t believe it.
The Reptile refuses to help JJ separate Ángela and JM.
Sam goes to the clinic where she was held but is told that Dr. Levin has left the country. She doesn’t leave, however.
Halcón has been busy flapping his jaw. He has passed on his accusation of Ángela to Inspector Duval. Duval tells JM and Ángela that Ángela is now suspect #1. He reminds them that Inspector Marshall also suspected Ángela. Ángela protests that she has done nothing and he will not find any evidence against her.
Willy tells Evil/Estúpida Estela that he doesn’t have amnesia and asks why Estela didn’t tell her daughter about DD’s confession that he was behind the kidnapping of Sam that led directly to the death of her husband Miguel.
Sam finds Dr. Levin in the clinic while he is talking to El Jefe on the phone. Levin wants to leave town but needs the $$$ from El Jefe. Sam pulls a gun on Levin and demands to know who brought her to the clinic or she will report him to the police. He is about to tell her when Jefe shows up and starts beating him up. It sounded like Levin told Sam that El Jefe was the guy but later Sam is with Jefe as if nothing happened. Weird.
EE tells Willy that she doesn’t believe that DD had Sam kidnapped.
Emma and Peralta tell JM and Ángela that they are moving out.
It’s Días Despues…
JM finds out that he has custody of Génesis.
Odd Ofélia blathers on to the Reptile about how nice it is that she is marrying for love. The Reptile tells her that she doesn´t love Vincente. This is all part of her plot to get JM.
Then we have the wedding of the Reptile and Vincente and the bride wears black. The Reptile imagines that it is JM waiting for her at the altar instead of Vincente. Ángela catches the bride´s wreath.
Ángela and JM are kissing outside wherever the wedding is and Ángela lets her wrap fall to the ground. The Reptile picks it up.
JJ overhears the Reptile telling Vincente that she killed Isabel. JJ confronts the Reptile and the Reptile strangles her with Ángela´s wrap. Well, we wanted JJ to die and she does but of course, this is part of the Reptile´s plot to incriminate Ángela.
Emma drinks too much at the wedding, which she shouldn’t do on her medication. She goes to some room and lies down. Gabriel follows her into the room and locks the door. Meanwhile, Peralta is looking for Emma.
Sam takes Lorena aside at the wedding (why was she invited?) and tells her that she is sure that Lorena is in love with Willy. At first, Lorena denies it but then she admits that it is difficult to be around a man like Willy and not fall for him.
Ángela goes looking for her wrap and finds JJ’s body.
Thanks, Jean, excellent recap! I think Dr. Levin told Sam the person responsible was "El", not El Jefe. Just "him". Later this was clarified as the mythical "Taylor" they keep saying is hounding Same. But this doesn't explain why, if El Jefe told Sam that Levin had left the country, and Sam then found he had NOT left the country, why doesn't Sam distrust Jefe at least one bit?
Duval is certainly a smart investigator - not! I'm sure Angela will now go to jail, at least for a while, since Josefina was strangled with HER wrap.
I liked when Vicente kissed his new bride, Reptile made some evil comment right to his face, pushing his face in the dirt, figuratively. Can't remember the exact words.
BTW, "Camilo" had some very ominous looks and music, further bolstering the possibility of Rat 2.0.
I won't give away the previews but yes, Camilo seems to be less than an angel.
I agree that Angela will be accused of murdering JJ and will go to jail and we'll probably have the usual prison fight scenes. At least Angela is trained to fight.
Really enjoyed your recap, Jean. LOTS happens in this novela every night, doesn't it?
I'm starting to think the range of IQ in the Los Angeles police department is from 70 to 90 points. Duval came onto the scene looking like he was at the higher level, but is dropping fast!
Yep, Blondie sure is starting to look way less innocent when the camera gives him a closeup. So I'm now on board with his being the Rat with a horrible bleach job.
What happened at the altar was, after Vicente kissed Fernanda, he said "Te amo." and she replied "Yo no."
Evil/Estúpida is getting on my last nerve. I suppose they won't kill her off because it would devastate our female lead, but she drives me nuts. She clearly heard DD confess to the long-ago kidnapping, but won't face the truth. And like most characters with cases of unrequited love in telenovelas, she insists she'll get him to love her. She should overhear him telling someone else how he seduced her to get the truth about Sam's parentage.
I sure hope Peralta makes it in time. Gabriel looks on the verge of rape, and Emma is too fragile for that to happen to her. I'm hoping for a major beatdown for our sneaky little Gabby.
Since she entered into her fantasy romance with DD, Evil/Estúpida has ignored her daughter and granddaughter. I suppose Angela would be upset if EE were killed but maybe not that much. I'm in favor of it though!
Novelera, thanks for clearing up why Willy thought Bern wanted to kill him.
But I am now puzzled about what motive Luis would have had for harming Samantha?
Oh well. I am voting for Camilo being Rat 1.0 (Luis).
And wondering, will Bernie make a death bed confession...and lie?
J in Oregon
hi J in Oregon...
it's easy to think of Willy and Sammy off on their own stories,
separate from the Rat and Reptile,
but if you remember,
Sam shot and supposedly killed the Rat while on the yacht,
I don't think there is anyone that's not on the Rat's hit list anymore,
except maybe his friend,
who I guess is still pondering what to do with the Reptiles taped confession,
or did I miss something here?
Thanks, Deb, for answering J in Oregon's question.
I don't think Bernie will make a death bed confession. Last night they said he was out out of danger. So I guess they'll keep him swathed in bandages until Manuel Landeta is well enough to return to the cast.
Thanks Deb! I had completely forgotten about the Rat being shot by Sammy when-- as I now recall--he had kidnapped JM.
Sheesh. I need a spreadsheet.
J in Oregon
I've fallen behind this week, but have really enjoyed the recaps ladies. Yay, JJ is dead. Yipee!!! Thanks writers. Now, about Estela...
The Rat has been bludgeoned, buried, shot, drowned, and blown up. Nothing keeps him down or kills him. Maybe we should call him the Cockroach?
This show is getting REALLY tense, as characters want la justicia!
Remember how horrendous Leo and Gonzalo were in the first half of the show, giving out drugs, changing grades on the computer, spiking the punch at the class party, humiliating Cassius, and who knows how many more things? Well, it's payback time. They already both got stomped by Cassius's cousins, but that wasn't enough.
Turns out Leo DID send the video of Gonzalo with the drugs to all his contacts! So everyone is school knows he caused the death of Rodrigo and Osvaldo. Nora and Alejandro lay into Gonzo, you piece of crap! You killed those boys! Then 10 tough kids show up, and stomp Gonzo some more until Santiago breaks it up.
As for Leo, former girlfriend Sofia lets HIM have it. You killed my father! No, Sofi, I'm not my Dad. I don't care, she says, you used his money to lord it over everyone, with your pompous and callous attitude. You're the same as your father. I never want to see you again!
As we know, there's a shortage of lawyers and doctors in telenovelas, so they keep using the same ones. Ana had asked Miranda for the name of a discreet doctor to hide her pregnancy. Miranda gave her the same Doc who she's using, whom JP is PAYING, unbeknownst to her, and who told Miranda the baby was from the first encounter (really, it was from Georgia, and is "legal"). Ana visits this doctor, who later calls JP and tells him this info. This means nothing to him, and he gets a little weirded out, but I'm sure it'll come in handy.
The other doctor is Hector. He's treating Gil. As soon as the doc goes in the other room, Gil goes on his computer, types in Ana Conde, and HE finds that she's pregnant! Now he wants to get that baby for himself, and immediately confronts Ana, who swears it's Santiago's baby. But Julia overhears as usual, she's done with slow poisoning of Ana, it's time for MURDER!
Speaking of murder, this may be Olivares' fate. He's accompanied JP to Mexico, and meets Walt (Gualtemoc) and the guys in the drug lair. They drink some tequila and light cigars. He's happy they're toasting to new business. Nah, they're toasting that they'll find caught HIM! He caused JP to be in jail for 2 years, even though he was later cleared. So he's a dead man. Since he's a dead man, JP tells him the truth. My real name is Gael Sanchez. I married your daughter under a fake name. But I didn't kill her. She caught me having sex with your other daughter, and decided to punish me, by killing herself and her unborn child. The child was the important thing. But now that I met Miranda, we've got another child coming, whom I'm going to steal as soon as it's born. Satisfied? Olivares is mortified.
Also mortified is Nena, when the helpful prosecutor calls in Monica so the two of them can chat in private. Huh? This is not the standard police procedure I've ever heard of, but it works great for our story. Monica tearfully (lying of course) tells Nena she had NO IDEA Andres was married. She thought SHE was the only one. Andres OWES her. So she considers the house HERS. And Clementina? She'll be out in the street!
Clementina then strides in to confront Andres, you pig! You had this double life. Now you've not only ruined your own life, but that of your son and me. We've all got nothing thanks to you. But Nena, he pleads. Don't call me Nena ("baby") ever again. I'm leaving! She stomps out (should have asked him if Monica knew he was married, but oh well) leaving him yelling after her "Nena! Nena! Nena!"
Okay, back to the lawyers and doctors. Pati needs a lawyer, and ends up consulting with Cortes (ALSO on JP's payroll). He tells her he costs $20,000 just to get started, especially since Joaco's case is so dire). And Joaco's case IS dire, since Pedro Garcia brings in a lowlife he knew in jail, who DID provide him with a gun, but not to murder someone! The lowlife is lying through his teeth, obviously paid by Garcia to incriminate Joaco.
Pati tells Cortes she doesn't have the money now, but should soon (after marrying Augusto!). After she leaves, Cortes calls JP, who tells her (essentially) take her money and let her brother rot! I'm not too happy with JP these days.
Olivia, tears in her eyes, tells Carmen, sorry to tell you but Miranda is carrying Mauricio's child! Carmen goes to confront Miranda. You're an abuser. Whose child are you carrying, my son's? Miranda won't admit it. But Carmen says as soon as your baby is born, I'll have a DNA test done, and the baby is Mauricio's, I'LL take the baby, while you rot in jail! Oh YEAH? glares Miranda. You will NEVER touch MY BABY! I'll defend MY BABY if it's the last thing I do on THIS EARTH!!! (All right, girl, you tell her).
Mauricio has taken a file from school, showing Olivares is really JP's father-in-law! He tells Miranda they have to meet on his Dad's boat, and when she sees this evidence, she realizes JP has been lying to her. The picture is surely kindly Mr. Conti, but he's JP's father-in-law, who accused him of killing his daughter, and now they're working together???!! Mau and Mir have no idea what JP's game is, but she definitely knows he's lying, and who knows what else he's doing.
So things are desperate for Miranda and Mauricio, and they're considering leaving the country, even though that would be crazy. On his Dad's boat, little do they know Olivia is following. Mau tells Mir they won't let anyone stop them, they'll do what they have to to protect their baby. He rubs her tummy, as Olivia's fears are confirmed. JP wasn't lying. It IS Mauricio's. As Mauricio and Miranda plan what to do, Olivia, face burning, hot tears streaming down her doll-like face, is RECORDING everything on her cell phone. Noooooooooooo!!!!!!
Wow, Hombre, really good recap! Have you considered a career as a screenwriter?
Finally, finally it seems Miranda is getting a clue about JP.
I've been watching Ojo por Ojo, and the actor who plays JP also plays Carmen Villalobos' love interest, Arcángel. He's doing a good job, so it was easy to get over his villain role to see him as a galán.
The novela (Ojo por Ojo) is a train wreck, and I keep saying every episode will be the last, but so far I haven't missed one.
I read on Telenovela World's site that the late and not lamented Josefina was played by Sonya Smith's (Isabel) real mother.

Something I don't understand, let's say Rat 1.0 is actually dead and Reptile believes this. The reason Reptile did not kill Angela was because Rat said he would kill JM or Reptile herself, right?
So, why hasn't Reptile killed Angela, she killed JJ at a party with people just inside why can't she just kill Angela in the same way?
News spreads through the party that Jorrible Josefina is dead. Officious Jefe examines the body and announces that JJ was strangled. The murder weapon, Ángela’s wrap or shawl, is not there. More on that later. Everyone has to stay at the party until the police come.
Inspector Duval arrives. He finds it to be quite a coincidence that Ángela always seems to be at the scene of the crime.
Camilo tells Estúpida/Evil Estéla that he didn’t see anything but he flashes back to seeing the Reptile strangle JJ.
The Reptile is somehow able to get Ángela’s wrap and bring it to her room without anyone in the house full of people seeing her and she isn’t exactly wearing a dress with pockets. She probably could have stuffed it under her boobs, though. She puts the wrap in a plastic bag in a drawer. Vincente asks why she didn’t leave it with the body and she replies that all the evidence against Ángela will be produced at one time.
Who knows what Gabriel was planning to do to Emma but when Peralta knocks on the door, Gabriel lets him in and the whole thing was a big tease.
The Reptile admits to Odd Ofélia that she killed JJ. Of course, OO isn’t going to do anything about that. Maybe someday, though.
The Reptile gives a moving speech to the wedding guests about how upset she is that this terrible thing happened at her wedding.
Sam tells Willy that she is going to investigate whether Willy’s airplane was sabotaged at the plane rental place. Although she isn’t part of the company any more, she knows many of the workers there and they were loyal to Darío. Jefe is watching their conversation so he hears Sam tell Willy that she wants to start her own bodyguarding business.
Oh no! Jefe put cameras in the bathroom! That’s gross. We see Sam get into the bathtub with modesty preserved by a flower. Then we see Willy in the tub with with her.
JM tell Ángela that he has called JJ’s other daughter, Paula. He tells Ángela that any of them could be the next victim and that after they are married, they whole family should go to Europe.
Camilo tells the Reptile that he saw her kill JJ.
El Jefe has his sidekick, Nuñez, call Sam and tell her that he is holding El Jefe.
Willy goes to work. He forgives Cecilia for pretending to be Sam but tells her never to get between him and Sam.
Jefe makes Nuñez beat him up. Then he calls Sam to come and help him. [Doesn’t Sam think this is kind of a lame kidnapping?]
Camilo tells the Reptile that he doesn’t want any money for not telling anyone that she killed JJ. He just wants a decent job and to be near his family. He says that he could have denounced her already - the Rat sent him the tape of the Reptile confessing her crimes. Camilo says that the Rat told him the video would be his salvation.
Lorena shows up at Willy’s office. Willy tries to call Sam but she doesn’t answer. Sam has gone to the address Jefe gave her and finds him beaten up on the floor. He asks her to never leave him.
El Jefe’s ex, I forget her name, comes to see Willy. She tells him that Esteban is in love with Sam and that he left her for Sam. [Why doesn’t she tell him that Jefe has a lair where he watches the object of his obsession?]
Emma and Peralta leave JM’s house.
Camilo tells JM and Ángela that he witnessed the murder but he only saw a woman with long hair [that pretty much is all the women on this novela!] JM tells him to go to the police with this information.
The Reptile tells Vincente that even if the video tape came to light, it wouldn’t matter. There is no proof against her. She says there will be lots of proof against Ángela.
Willy brings Lorena to Sam’s apartment and finds Jefe there. Lorena attends to his injuries while Jefe claims that it was Taylor’s people who did this because they know that Jefe is on their trail. Willy is doubtful. Willy take pleasure in telling El Jefe that Sam isn’t going to work for him any more. She is starting her own agency. El Jefe tells her that is a great idea and that he will help her.
Well it didn’t take long - Camilo tells Vikingo that he is in fact the Rat. So goodbye Camilo, hello Rat with a bad dye job. He tells Vikingo that he needs his help.
Duval comes to see the Reptile and Vincente and tells them to be careful. He believes Ángela is the murderer.
Emma and Peralta are in their new apartment.
Despicable Dad is conscious. He tell EE that he understands her. There's punishment for him. He'll have to listen to her blather on and on about thier love.
Sam asks if Willy is jealous of El Jefe. He says that he has reason - Jefe is in love with Sam and that isn’t only his opinion - El Jefe’s ex told him that. Sam protest that can’t be true but Jefe tells her that it is the truth.
The Reptile comes to see JM. He tells her that Camilo told him that he saw a woman kill JJ. The Reptile is impactada.
Thanks, Jean, excellent recap!
How quickly Duval has devolved for me from a fine papacito to an annoying imbecile!
Loved shawl tucked under the Reptile's boobs!
That was pretty disgusting that El Jefe watches Sam in her bathroom. But I liked that he had to suffer through a nude Willy getting in there with her and caressing her.
Yep, that was the lamest kidnapping plot I ever saw that Jefe cooked up. And what does he gain by doing it? He said he didn't want her to ever leave him, but that's dumb. He's supposed to be protecting her, not vice versa. And didn't he say that Taylor was out of the country now? This kind of removes the necessity for Sam to be tripping over him all the live-long day.
Jefe's ex is Guadalupe. That seemed like an odd name for a woman like her. It's usually a name given to a devoutly religious servant of the ricos.
I bet we might find Gabriel Valenzuela (alias The Rat) slinking around Miami with a ski hat on his head to cover up that awful bleach job.
I agree 100%, Jean, that Despicable Dad is suffering from the "loving care" of Evil/Estúpida almost as much as from being blown up on that boat.
Many thanks Jean. That was wonderful. We were right. The Rat lives!!!
Just throw Angela in jail already. Enough with the build-up. We know it's going to happen, and that she'll be out of jail soon after.
Novelera- Thanks for that pic. You can really see how much they look like each other when they're side by side.
