Amorcito Corazón Discussion #79-83 Aug. 6-10
ANOTHER FABULOUS RECAP BY KAREN :-)
I’ve consolidated the action so its not in the order we saw it. Let me know if I’ve completely or slightly misunderstood anything.
Isa grabs Wigsy, the police arrive, and thankfully arrest her. At the police station, Gimme refuses to tell where Leo is. To our horror, poor Leo is in a ditch and moaning.
Lucia visits Zoe and is worried about Willy (his operation, she’s in denial about being concerned about him). She admits she’s grossed out by what she overhead Beba and Horny saying in regard to Willie. They go to lunch and meet up w/Sabrina, who tells Lucia what Zoe told her early no man is perfect and Willy loves her.
Poncho goes on his blind date w/Mayela. Things appear to be going well, she gives him a cake and since we know he loves food he’s ecstatic. He then realizes she’s 14 months pregnant (he actually says 14 which is pretty funny) and leaves w/the cake, of course. Later he goes to Fer’s to find Doris for a hug. He tells her about his “date” and I’m concerned there may be another baby kidnaping based on the look in her eyes. Doris wants to get that baby and pass it off as her own. Though the end result is a lie, I hope they ask for the baby and don’t steal it (even though Mayela will be a horrible mother and we know is willing to sell her child)
Willy wakes from surgery and has a nice dream about being married to Lucia and them having a baby girl. When he actually wakes, he asks about Tuqueque. Meanwhile, Lala and her co-madre are talking badly about Beba quite loudly (icky Horny is there too). Lucia finally goes to the hospital. Willy has been asking for her and Lala urges Lucia to see her son as she can see him later in the day. The family gets the good news that both patients are doing well. As Lucia approaches the door to Willy’s room Horny is there. Willy is drugged and is asking for Lucia, Horny never states who she is and keeps pawing our hero. In typical TN style, once Horny realizes Lucia is there, she kisses him to Lucia’s and our extreme displeasure. Naturally Lucia leaves, running into the abuelas as she leaves. They notices she was acting odd but attribute it to Willy. Unfortunately they don’t know Horny is the true vampire not Beba. Willy talks w/his mom and she tells him about Lucia’s visit. He calls her and she thinks he’s in love w/Horny; Seriously, Lucia. When Horny visits him she asks why he is trying to get back w/Lucia; WITCH. He tells her regardless of their “agreement” he loves Lucia and will handle the situation in his own way. She reminds of their contract and how she will act crazy if he crosses her; Again I say, WITCH!
Doris, EWM and the two younger Mari’s are playing kiddie cards. Minnie returns and wonders what is burning in the kitchen. She reprimands Doris and EWM for trying to cook. The girls say they were dying of hunger and Minnie will make them some good grub (as oppose to whatever dear Doris was attempting to cook). EWM gets offended by Minnie, yeah, and goes to find Fer & Isa. Doris tells her the wrong way to go to find them.
Maristupid chats w/Knuckles, who telling her his life as a child (which is most likely a big ol’ lie).
Fer & Isa go to the ranch to look for her father. Sarita arrives just as the two are about to leave taking horses with them. I’m surprised Fer rides horses, he’s a city-sliker. What’s funny is that Diego is clearly pretending he cannot ride. The search party actually finds Gimme’s lover and to distract them he scares Fer’s horse. By nightfall they find Hector who tells them where he last saw Leo. Of course by the time they get there Leo is gone. Thankfully an older couple has found him and is taking care of him; this scene is a flashback to CME when Jero got found. Leo actually speaks and asks for his daughter. At the end of the episode, Hector is in police custody and keeps claiming he doesn’t know where Leo is. Isa & Fer vow to keep looking for him.
Ricky wants his antiques friend to speed up the restoration. When Ricky brings the artifact to Jorrible’s henchman, the latter refuses to pay Ricky for the work.
EWM goes to Jorrible’s and she tries to get a rise out of him by telling him Isa & Fer are together. He calls her on her obsession w/Fer and she leaves in a huff. Tomorrow - Isa & Fer might actually make a love connection.

The horse riding was funny. I love Diego Olivera, but he isn't very good at pretending he can't ride. He looked perfectly comfortable sitting on that horse. I loved the eye-rolly coaching Isa was giving him. I hope they find Leo soon, but at least he's out of Gimme-Wigsy's clutches.

columpio - swing (playground toy)
torpe - clumsy, awkward
and one that is an easy translation, but I didn't know before that it's used idiomatically the same way as in English:

I couldn't figure out why Marisolame was being friends with Knuckles, but I figured maybe I missed something. I don't remember from the comments...did we ever find out whether he really raped her, or if she just thought they had cositas? Why is she not avoiding him like the dirty plague he is?
He didn't really take advantage of her, but she thinks he did. If she thinks at all.

Not much today IMHO, which is sad considering 'Nando and Isa finally got busy at the cenote.
Main Events
Horny e Hija went down to the constructora and laid down the law. They are really taking over and claiming that EWM was pretty much on the same level as 'Nando. They want detailed reports from each dept. giving a run-down of their activities, personnel, accounts and goals for the next 6 months.
Drooly-Poldo is delivered safe and sound to the rancho by his rescuers. He is happy and is now talking a little more. It would seem he dodged a Gimmie bullet.
Jorrible delivers the statue to his client. Too bad the client later notices something fishy about the leg on the statue. I suspect it has to do with the paint and the "tostado" -ness of it. (Didn't the painter/forger guy say something about getting the color of the paint just right?)
Maristoopid acts giggly and super friendly with Knuckles. She is an idiot. Hello? Didn't you think he date-raped you last week?
Willy finally makes the "Horny-Lucia is mad at me" connection.
Barbwire kisses Juancho. He calls her Marisol and then feels bad about it. Dope.
Idrogo came looking for Beba. Beba tries to push the Olga/Idrogo relationship, but Idrogo is quite smitten with Beba. Awwww!!!!! He's so cuuute!!! He asked Olga to talk him up and help his cause, but Olga refused. Jorrible found out his mom is on an online dating site and acted like the jerk he is.
Doris is pushing Poncho to get her Mayela's baby.
'Nando and Isa did it in the cenote. She seemed to like it.

I won't even bother asking about "chílame" which I also swear was said twice. Crappy CCs with horrible misspellings sure annoy me.

Yeah Sara the only thing we can hope for it when they turn on one another as all villains do. I just keep hoping Horny catches EWM in her Fer obsession b/c that will bring things to a halt hopefully immediately.

Horny did call the constructora employees a bola de zánganos, pack of lazy bums. If I were them, I would write my report for Manny using as much technical and industry jargon as possible. Finally got caught up last night. I like that Olga -- first she tells Jorge that she won't take money for lying for him, because that's "corruption;" then she refuses to have anything to do with Idrogo out of loyalty to her mistress. I hope there's something nice waiting for her at the end...

The scene of Doris and Poncho trying to make a botarga was hilarious. Good thing no one really likes Doris enough to get close to her or touch her. And Poncho keeps offering to knock her up for real, and she keeps blowing him off. Come on, Doris...this guy knows you're nuts and is still devoted to you? She seems to really like him, too, just won't get off the one track she's on. At least she's anti-Manuela.

Et tu Sabrina? I was so hoping she would be good. But if she helps to reveal the true Felipe (the unfaithful man child) to Zoe, then ok. Cecelio is a way better choice anyway. Blue Lass thanks so much for this run down! I think all of us are baffled by Maristupid's turn from "I was raped" to "Let's be novios." Was the concern about Knuckles being missing somehow absolve him from drugging and pretending to rape this witless girl enough to make her think he's trustworthy?
I too hope Sabrina is not another baddie but its not looking good for her right now. She seemed to be trying to attempt F5 (not hard) and now she's taking a bribe from Jorrible.

The only possible explanation I can think of for Marisoloopy's behavior is that she believes Knuckles when he says he really loves her and that their, um, "contact" was consensual. She knew she'd been drinking, obviously, but I don't think she knew she'd been drugged. Anyway, all the teen plots are para dormirse.

Beba really smiled when Idrogo called Jorrible his future stepson. I foresee a difficult moment for him when he, the only police detective in the D.F., has to arrest the son of his beloved Beba.
I'm hoping Sabrina is just setting Jorrible up, too, although her behavior toward FFFFF doesn't look good. She says she just wants to live in the moment, but if she were good, wouldn't she do her in-the-moment living with someone who was NOT involved with one of her friends?

Knuckles is probably really lucky Fernando was all relaxed and happy when he happened upon him smooching Maristupid in the hallway. If Fernie hadn't been in such a good mood, Knuckles would probably have gotten his face flattened, which would have improved it immensely. Marisol needs to go to a brain surgeon and have a brain installed.
BTW, yesterday's epi was #82 of 206 total -- so we're about 40% in.

After watching Friday's episode again for vocabulary purposes, I realized I missed some important information about Jorrible's plan to have Ricky sabotage the office. Sorry.
Jorrible doesn't just want the office messed up, he wants it to look like its the fault of the construction company. Ricky suggests an electrical fire. Then Jorrible can sue for damages.

Boo, Sabrina. Why you gotta be like that? Does she secretly hate Zoe because of some old grudge from way back when?
I'm not sure if she came to town with the sole purpose of messing with Zoe, or if she is just so thrilled to finally not be the ugly duckling that she doesn't know how to handle it.
Ha ha, I had to look up "plafón," too. My little old lady dictionary says "soffit," which is a word I don't even use in English.

Sabrina does seem like she feels some need to prove she isn't the ugly duckling anymore. What better way to prove she's as attractive as Zoe than seducing Zoe's novio? Although that isn't exactly a challenge. I sort of get the feeling that back when they were young, Zoe's attitude toward Sabrina might have been harsher and more hurtful than she meant it to be or realizes. I think she does want to show up Zoe. She did go looking specifically for Zoe when she came back to town, even though it seems like Isa and Lucia are nicer to her.
Plafón was new to me. I actually do use the word "soffit" in English, so this might be useful to me. I wish they'd use more technical language at the constructora so I could learn more of those words. I love eavesdropping on the workers when I visit construction sites.

Plus, at one point Sabrina was talking to someone (can't remember who) about how she was always the ugly one, and they said something like "but you were probably the nicest" and she had this look on her face like maybe she was sick of having to be nice to make up for her lack of looks.
Definitely looks like we've got an antagonista in the making. And I had such high hopes for her being a good guy.
I can understand Sabrina in a way. Not about the man-stealing; I've no interest in that, but in how irritating it can be to be treated differently based on how you look. I used to be a lot bigger than I am now, then I lost a lot of weight due to an illness. All of a sudden I had all these people telling me I looked great, so much better, etc. But I'm still the same person. What I was hearing was that I looked terrible before. It was just as insulting to me as if I were still fatter.
