Por ella soy Eva #26 8/22/12

Por Ella Soy Eva – August 22, 2012We begin our show in Helena’s office. Helena has just watched the video left to her by Juan Carlos and finally lets her feelings out to Eva. She admits to Eva that she loves Juan Carlos and that if he were alive, she’d let him know it. Tough Helena is quite vulnerable at this point. Eva tries to comfort her and offers friendship and loyalty. Eva and Helena begin talking and getting along better. Helena lets Eva know about the problem with Diego Fonticoda. They talk about how hard it is to be a woman in a male dominated company and business. Helena offers a sincere apology to Eva. Helena then looks for Santiago and Fernando to offer them an apology and to ask if they could work as a team to find a solution to the problem they’re facing. At first, Santiago and Fernando are tough guys and inflexible. Leave it to Juan Carlos (Eva) to put them in their place, making them agree to be a team. Of course, he almost gave himself away by divulging secrets that only the three knew (Juan Carlos, Santiago, and Fernando). He covered his tracks though. Thanks to Eva, the four became a working team. Right when they’re about to get to work, Helena asks Eva to help her find a solution to the problem. Eva calls Diego and annoys the hell out of him. Nonetheless, she is able to get another meeting set up with Diego and Helena. Diego makes it clear that Helena needs to go alone. Eva has other ideas. At the same time, Adriano puts some pressure on Helena to have the signed contract on his desk by the next day. Marcela offers Helena help as well. At first, she offers to go with her to the meeting with Diego. Helena asks for an alternative. She asks Marcela to tell her all she can about Diego. Marcela confides in Helena that she knew Diego in her youth and that they were a couple at one point. At the homestead, Helena asks Lalito to help with some chores. He does but is somewhat cautious about it because if Eduardo were to see him, he’d get a scolding. Helena assures Lalo that it is good for him to be a responsible kid who helps around the house. Silvia agrees with and supports Helena. The Contreras storyline is an interesting one. Fernando continues to show a lot of jealousy and insecurity regarding his wife’s promotion and abilities at work. He feels as if she’s showing him up. His pride, and even his manhood, are being challenged. He also continues to be jealous or hurt over the fact that Marcela had someone else before him. Fernando gets home and lets Marcela know he’s hungry. Marcela lets him know that thanks to a bonus, she set aside a bit of money to invite Fernando and the kids to a nice restaurant for dinner. Again, Fernando is uncomfortable but relents. Another storyline that is interesting is that of Eduardo and Silvia. Silvia may have confronted Eduardo with some uncomfortable topics and feelings he may have about Helena and Lalito. Silvia theorizes that Eduardo is afraid that Helena will one day make her own life, marry, and take Lalito from the house. She pleads with Eduardo not to fight for the kid’s custody and argues that Helena has all of the rights as Lalito’s mother. Eduardo gets furious and insults Silvia, letting her know that she’s worthless and that all she’s good for is to keep the house clean. Silvia is frustrated with Eduardo. We then have a scene involving Antonia, Plutarco, and Rebeca. While Plutarco and Rebeca are in a Jacuzzi, Antonia calls to let Plutarco know how much she’s looking forward to their romantic evening. Of course, Plutarco dashes her hopes and dreams by letting her know that he can’t make it due to an emergency meeting. Antonia isn’t buying that story any more. She has a sixth sense that Plutarco is cheating on her. Heartbroken, Antonia calls Eva and asks her to come to her house. She needs a friend. Eva is in a hurry to go to Helena’s meeting with Diego but agrees to pay Antonia a quick visit. Diego calls Helena and changes things on her. His excuse is that the day got complicated and that he was not able to return to the office. He asks if Helena would mind meeting at his house. Of course, she says that there’s no problem. After all, Helena is all business and figures Diego is the same way. At Antonia’s house, Antonia shares her suspicions regarding Plutarco with Eva. Eva (Juan Carlos) knows Plutarco and knows what he’s capable of doing, but has to be calm and comfort Antonia. Antonia is encouraged to do some research and get proof before saying anything to Plutarco. Antonia is convinced that her sixth sense is always right. Throughout this entire time, Antonia continues to eat. Eva notices this and tries to stop her from overeating. At that time, Helena calls Eva and lets her know about Diego wanting to meet at his house. Eva freaks out and leaves to try and catch up to Helena. She has a hard time getting there. At Diego’s house, Diego does everything he can to turn on the charm and seduce Helena. She isn’t going for it and is pretty direct and tries to focus on business with him. Helena is smart and will have some ammunition to use on Diego, and that is whatever Marcela shared with her. Back to Plutarco and Rebeca. She plainly lets him know that she wants him far from Helena. She’s not happy and shows it. She demands a promotion, and Plutarco comes up with a lame excuse why that can’t happen. Plutarco is messing with the wrong gal here. Eva finally gets to Diego’s house, and she needs to find a way of getting in. She has some challenges, including some seemingly ferocious dog activity. Diego and Helena talk, and Diego continues to try his best to seduce her. She lets him know that she is only there for one reason and that he has no reason or right to try anything else. In fact, she warns him that she could get him for sexual harassment. Diego is also smart and uses the argument that people wouldn’t believe Helena, a female who came to his house on her own. In fact, Diego uses his reputation as a womanizer to strengthen that argument. He lets Helena know his conditions for signing the contract. In her own way, Helena stands her ground. She is actually very gracious and classy about it, and although Diego tries to mock her arguments, he’s taken aback. Helena lets him know that by abusing his power as a womanizer, he shows insecurity and actually denigrates himself as a man. And, although she remembers Adriano’s words regarding the future of the company being in her hands, Helena chooses to keep her dignity and self respect over having the contract signed by Diego. Diego ends up capitulating and asking for Helena’s forgiveness. She taught him a valuable lesson. He signs the contract. He seems sincere. Helena did it on her own…she got the job done. Poor Eva had to go through an unnecessary challenge. Back at Mimi’s, Juan Carlos and Mimi talk about the evening events. He tells Mimi that he’s actually grateful to this whole experience of being Eva because he understands women much better. At that very minute, Helena calls Eva and invites her over to her house for a celebration. Juan Carlos is thrilled and does his best to transform himself back into Eva. He wants to get to Helena’s as soon as possible. Mimi warns him not to let his emotions get the best of him. At Helena’s house, Juan Carlos almost gave himself away again. Helena wanted to have a toast, and Juan Carlos (as Eva) reminds Helena that she doesn’t drink. Helena pauses and asks how Eva knew. Eva comes up with some lame explanation. Helena also remembers something that saddens her. Eva notices her. I’m sure she remembered toasting with Juan Carlos. At Grupo Imperio, Antonia looks for Plutarco. He’s not there, but she uses his absence to begin looking for proof that he cheats on her. She finds some paperwork and jumps to the conclusion that Helena is the “other woman.” Someone’s going to need to cover the last scene at Helena’s house, because I got an important call that I had to take, and I didn’t tape the episode. I just saw something about a celebration and a mosquito. Sorry.

Thank you for the recap, JP. I like that you pulled out the bigger picture instead of just the smaller details.

Could you please tag it so it shows up on the Eva collection? Thank you.

When Helena and Eva met with Mutt and Jeff, Lucero got a bad case of the giggles at Camil's antica - she just couldn't stop!

Tuesday's show was about shifts in relationships. Tonight's show was about confrontations -
Silvia v Ed
Marcela v Fernando
Helena v Diego

I thoroughly enjoyed tonight's episode. I am amazed that it keeps that high pleasure factor show after show after show. And what a relief that the b!t@h is gone! I'm glad we only had to endure that for a short time, and now Eva will have a chance to be truly helpful to Helena.

DANG, I LOVE THIS SHOW!!!

Hey JP-- Great, snappy recap.

I am also glad that Helena is no longer being mean to Eva. Yay! But it looks like Helena is about to have big problems with Toni. And Toni does have the power to fire her. Yikes! By the way, the note Toni found with the chocolates is pretty incriminating. Helena thanks him for the wonderful day trip he took her on. It won't be easy to explain that away.

At the end of the episode, JC/Eva slaps her face trying to get the fly/mosquito and ends up slapping half his fake feminine eyebrows off. He goes to the bathroom to try to fix it but ends up ripping the whole eybrow off to reveal the manly dark brow underneath. Then he takes off an eyelash to see if that would work as an eyebrow. He just makes a big mess of it instead and whips off his wig in frustration, which then lands in the toilet. At the end he's decided he can't save the situation and that he has to come out of the bathroom as JC and reveal the truth to Helena. They leave us on a cliffhanger as he comes out of the bathroom ready to reveal all.

Since we had just seen Helena on the couch yawning up a storm as she waited for Eva to emerge, I'm betting she'll be fast asleep when he comes out.

JP- This isn't tagged/labeled. Can you go back and label it?

Thanks for a fine recap, JP. As does Paula, I love this show and enjoy seeing more action and less filler.

Silvia v Ed--what a despicable tyrant he is! When she points out "da truth" to him, he throws a plate onto the floor, breaking it and telling her to clean it up. Says she's only good for serving. Reason is not his strong suit. Nor empathy.

Nice of Marcela to be helpful to Helena. I was sure Eva would be the white knight rescuing Helena from Diego. After all of Eva's frantic efforts to do just that, Helena rescued herself! What a refreshing turn of events.

La Paloma

JP thanks for the great recap. I too liked the wider picture. I'm with Vivi, I think Helena is so tired after her great night, she will be fast asleep when JC comes out of the bathroom. I liked how Eva was going to rescue Helena from Diego, all his running from that dog, too funny.

Ruh Roh, poor Toni finding Helena's name on that gift. Now she thinks the worst of Helena. Too bad she doesn't know it is really Rebeca. I like how Eva was stopping Toni from eating, but I wish Toni would do this herself, before she ends up in the hospital again.

Eduardo has got to go. It's too bad Silvia just can't up and leave his sorry butt, move in with Helena and take Lalito with her. Eduardo the Bastardo doesn't deserve them. I think the Bastardo knows if he were to go to court he would lose. He isn't liking that.

Paula- so agree with you about the b*tchy Helena being gone. I am so glad that they are getting along so much better. They will be great BFF'S.

I can't wait to see the look on Adriano's face when Helena comes back with that signed contract.

Thanks, JP! I missed most of last night's show. Looks like I missed a lot!!

When Helena gave the gift to Pluto, she told him it was for him AND Antonia. If only she'd addressed the card that way too - or given Antonia a phone call to thank her. That would have prevented a lot of grief!

JP, thank you for the big picture recap.

I want to know what kind of pantyhose JC wears, they must be made of Kevlar!

Rosemary Primera

If only she'd addressed the card that way too ... That would have prevented a lot of grief!

Prevented grief for Helena? Yes. Prevented grief for Pluto? Not so much.

Ed keeps yelling at Silvia, "No seas metiche!" A metiche is a butt-in-ski - someone who meddles in matters that don't concern them. I'd say that if Ed wants to take his daughter's child, that's rather metiche. And if Silvia wants to protect her daughter, and talk to her husband about his life, that DOES concern her so it's certainly not metiche.

Right now Toni's not thinking clearly and I can't blame her. But.. how long has Helena worked at GI? Weeks. How long has Pluto been "working late" every night? Long time. Do the math, Toni.

In one way, Eva did save Helena from the big bad wolf (BBW). Eva told her that the BBW was extremely superstitious, and if she had problems she should invoke the zodiac, karma, etc. So I THINK (I'd have to check the CCs) she warned him that he was taking a great risk treating her that way. His karma would cause him or someone he loved to be victimized like that. That shook him up. Someone please correct me if I got that wrong.

Paula you are right, I don't have CC's but I heard about the karma and you are right about what Helena said to Diego. That sure made him pause. Did you notice the pyramid candle that was burning while they were talking? It has to do with luck I think and destiny. It sure worked for Helena instead of the other way around.

Paula: Prevented grief for Helena? Yes. Prevented grief for Pluto? Not so much.

True, but Pluto's grief is my pleasure! So as far as I'm concerned, there's no grief at all. I would love to hear the excuse he'd come up with for that one.

I was hoping Helena and Antonia would be good friends, but it seems not to be going in that direction. Man, life is going to become very difficult for Pluto if Eva decides to teach him a lesson about respecting women. You think Eva's dangerous with a handbag, just wait till she gets REALLY mad!

Thanks JP. This was a delightful episode and a great recap.

Okay, I watched the episode yesterday.

That old man, Ed is pissing me off for talking to his wife like that and threw a plate down on the floor over wanting his daughter's child to stay with him. He seriously has to accept this...

I can't believe Pluto cheated on Antonia with that girl...

I like the panty shot part when Eva (JC) is starting to climb up.

What if Eva do when he come out of the bathroom?.

A: Tell H she has to change clothes private.
B: Find something to make mask to hide the face.
C: Maybe leave.... and reveal it...

That's all I have to say.

Tips, if you have Dish, set 2 or 5 minutes late after the show ends on the guide so you can see the credits.

Thank you Univision for importing this awesome show from Mexico.

The most obvious follow-up to the cliffhanger is that Helena is asleep and Juan slips away unnoticed.

But what if they go a little less obvious. Juan comes out and sees that Helena is asleep on the couch. He puts a blanket over her and whispers to her, in Juan voice, how much he loves her, and all the other wonderful things he wants to tell her. In the morning she has a delicious memory of it but concludes it must've been a dream.

Paula,
I like that idea--Juan kisses her goodnight & gives her a lovely dream.

Güera

I have to say, as silly as it is, I get a big kick out of it when Eva hikes his/her skirt up showing off the pantyhose. Yep, tell it/show it like it is LOL!

Although I have to admit I haven't worn pantyhose or heels in years. Thank goodness slacks are considered acceptable today for even upscale affairs.

Thanks much JPCruzer and the rest of the recapping team. This show is really on a roll!
