Refugio Para el Amor #95 Mon 8/20/12 Gala Marks Her Territory With Fire; Julie Marks Hers With Booze; and Rosa Marks Hers With a Police Intervention and Plenty of Hand Sanitizer

Rod has just begun his wedding night with Gala by putting her clothes back ON—this is a marked contrast to his wedding night with Luci, which he spent trying to take her clothes off. Gala puts her robe on, but then drapes herself across Rod, begging him to make love to her. He gets up, grabs a blanket and pillow from the bed, says goodnight, and heads to the living room couch. Frustrated Gala knocks a few items around and says to herself how much she hates Rod. In the living room, Rod thinks of Luci and says her name.

The next morning, Gala heads over to her old place to bitch at Mama Julie about Rod, how he rejected her and how she’s sure he was thinking of Luci. “He’s never going to forget that damn maid!” Julie’s advice—it’s Gala’s job to seduce him and make him forget. Make him fall in love with her again. Anyway, he’s already hers since he married her. Gala says that sure as hell is right. When she signed that marriage contract, it was like signing a contract on PROPERTY—Rod is her property. Not even death will make her set him free. She’s going to make his life hell and will NEVER give him a divorce! (This sounds like hell for both of them, but Gala doesn’t seem to realize this.)

Julie advises her to play it cool and intelligently…and hey, your bags are packed and ready to go to your new house. But I really will miss you, now that you’re going to live with Rod. Gala doesn’t believe a word of this, given that Julie has had her in boarding schools (internado) her whole life. After Gala leaves, Julie admits that she really won’t miss Gala. She calls up Carola and tells her to invite the Italian and three other handsome studs for a big party at her place that night. Two studs for each of them!

The neighborhood maids continue flirting with Lorenzo and Fabian, when up comes Aldo with a shiny new bike for the guys—his investment in their taco business. The boys are impressed.

At the TL offices, Rod is complaining to Pato about his wife trying to sleep with him. Gasp!! Pato doesn’t get it either. She IS his wife, and they’ve already done it at least once recently…Pato knows the real problem is that Rod still loves Luci. Rod deflects that by saying Gala knows perfectly well that their marriage is just one of convenience for the kid. “Rod, this marriage is going to be a nightmare (pesadilla) for you. And you know what’s worse? Gala is never going to set you free. She accomplished her objective and she’s never going to let go. And not just for having gained you as a husband, but also for the money and prestige that you represent for her. And above all, for that ambitious/greedy mother of hers.”  Rod is smarter than we thought. He tells Pato that before they went to the Civil Registry office to get married, they signed a prenup. None of his properties or company shares are at risk. Pato then drops the bomb on Rod that he’s going to see Luci, and he intends to tell her HE will always be by her side, despite his family.

Luci and CL walk the streets of Het Het and talk about her A-pa Galdino and all he taught her, like predicting weather patterns by looking at the sky—until the long drought (sequía) came. They are interrupted by the Gossip Girls who get all flirty with CL and ask if he’s Madga’s beau (pretendiente). CL sets them straight and tells them he’s Luci’s papa. This leaves the Gossip Girls speechless, for once.

In Rod’s, now their, place, Gala searches for glasses and instead finds Luci’s weddings dress that Rod long ago stashed away in a sideboard cupboard. Gala reads then crumples the card. “Maldita domestica.”

Pato tells Max about his plans to go personally to deliver the foundation donations to San Francisco el Alto, while Rod glowers in the background. When Max worries about Pato going alone, he says his therapist Jorge is coming with, and so can Marcos. They leave tomorrow. Max is in agreement, but knows Rosa will raise hell about it. Pato couldn’t care less. Too bad if she disagrees; he’s going anyway. Plus, he wants to see Luci. Rod’s frown lines go deeper and he leaves the room.

Back in Het Het, Luci’s worried that now the whole town will know that CL’s her papa and will start asking about who Galdino really was to her. CL says you can’t avoid gossip. People will always talk, and not just about that. Soon they’ll be wagging their tongues when she starts to show. Luci says he’s right. Plus, she’s proud to have him as a papa. And when she starts to show, she’ll hold her head up high. She wonders when she’ll be showing; CL says likely in another three months and she’ll be lovely.

Over at Don Serapio’s, the Gossip Girls are already spreading the word to Procopio. Copio thinks Don Aquiles has to know this news! The GGs aren’t too keen, since they think Aquiles will be mighty upset. Copio thinks Don A’s bark is worse than his bite. (Perro que ladra no muerde.) Plus, Copio wants the pleasure of seeing Don A’s face when he realizes he can’t run roughshod over Luci anymore, now that she has a papa protecting her.  He runs out, and the GGs hear the ghost that’s been hanging out near the funeral parlor. Don Aquiles refuses to believe the news. He has a hard time wrapping his head around the Licenciado being his father-in-law.

On the Torreslanda lawn, two mamas without boundaries are discussing something that isn’t their business. Julie is reporting on Rod falling down on his husbandly duties in la cama to Rosa. Rosa doesn’t know what to do so that woman (Luci) leaves them in peace! Her presence is like a damn nightmare! Julie thinks Rosa HAS to do something about it, but short of standing over their bed and coaching them through the act, I and Rosa don’t see what she can do about it. Pato approaches and tells Rosa about his trip north for the foundation, and to see Luci. Rosa’s eyes bug out and she immediately jumps up and follows him inside the house.

CL and Luci have some yummy looking water-ice. CL asks why she hasn’t told Rod she’s preggers. Luci doesn’t know if she wants to tell him. CL says Rod has a right to know, but Luci says they are no longer anything to each other. CL says she’s mistaken. No matter what, Rod is the father of her child, and this will unite them forever. He asks her to think about it. Luci pouts and doesn’t look convinced.

Gala calls Rod at work asking when her dear hubby is returning home because she’s prepared a surprise for him. He rolls his eyes and says he’ll try to leave early.

Back at Casa Torreslanda, Rosa is trying emotional blackmail on Pato again. She should know by now that this only works on her eldest son. First she says he’s risking his health by going to see Luci; then she says he’s risking HER health by causing her to be anxious with worry. Pato tells her to understand it once and for all—she can’t, and he won’t let her, butt into his life. If she feels ill, then she can call a doctor, not to mention all her other enablers who will be there- Mati, Tia Connie, and Papa Max. Rosa tries the emotional blackmail one more time. “Just go then, and we’ll see what happens to ME!” Pato rolls right by her and tells her to save it; he’s not going to fall for it. “I’m going to see Luciana, period.” Rosa stomps out of his room. Mati tells him not to worry about her niña Rosa (did he look worried?). Mati will be here for her. Pato’s not concerned about her physical health; it’s her mental health that concerns him.

Rod arrives home to his loving wife (NOT!). Well, Gala is trying her best to appear loving at the moment. She says she has a surprise for him on the roof (azotea); the best place to view the stars.

In Vio’s place, Ofelia is telling Serena that tonight is her last night at Inferno. Serena thinks that if she speaks to Lastra, she’ll be able to cover more days for Serena, but Ofelia doesn’t want to steal her job from her. Vio comes home and doesn’t like the idea of Ofelia continuing to work at Inferno because she’s caught Lastra’s eye, and this gives Vio a bad feeling. Lastra’s interest in her goes beyond the job. Vio has worked at Inferno a lot of years, and she has never seen him take an interest in one of the girls like he has Ofelia. Only Luciana, and they know how that turned out.

CL brings Luci back home, and she is having a dizzy/nauseous spell. CL gets her water and sits down to have a chat with her. As much as he dislikes the TLs, he thinks Rod should know about the baby. Luci’s been thinking about it, but she’s not sure. She doesn’t want Rod to feel tied (atado) to her. CL isn’t buying that. He wants her to think about all he suffered (not knowing his child was alive). He says this doesn’t mean that Rod and Luci have to get back together or that her child has to have Rod’s name, but he should know that he’s going to become a father.  Rod doesn’t even need to provide financial support, because CL will do that as Luci is his heir. He’s not convinced that Luci’s going to tell Rod the truth. Luci looks at him with big, guilty eyes.

Up on the roof, Gala is playing like she’s being big enough to put aside what happened the night before and is not holding a grudge. She hands Rod a glass of champagne and takes one for herself, so that they can toast to the stars and the surprise she has for him. She then goes to the bbq grill and opens the hood. Sitting on the grill is Luci’s wedding dress.
G: I want to help you forget, but you also have to help Rodrigo. You have to forget Luci, forever.
She lights a match and throws it onto the dress. Rod looks at the grill in horror and rushes to it. Gala blocks him and has a cold, hard look of satisfaction on her face as the dress goes up in flames.

Luci is furiously sanding one of the ceramics pieces and trying to avoid giving CL an answer about telling Rod about her bun in the oven.  “I’ve thought about it. Ok, I’m going to tell Rodrigo. I’m going to tell him I’m expecting his child.”

Back on the roof, Rod has regained his power of speech and wants to know what the hell is wrong with Gala. Has she gone crazy or what?! Gala says she’s just marking HER territory and won’t let those rags stay in HER house. She won’t let him make a fool of her. Sure, their marriage is a contract, but a contract of harmony and respect! Rod says he won’t disrespect her, but he also won’t stand for her absurd jealousy. Gala says it’s not absurd to want to erase the memory of THAT woman! Rod tries to walk off, but Gala is spoiling for a fight. Rod tells her to do whatever the hell she wants, and leaves her standing there yelling after him. Once he’s gone, she smiles with satisfaction.

Mati brings Rosa her tea and water for all her mysterious medications. Max isn’t home yet, and Rosa knows he’s not still at the office, because she called there. He left early for a “business meeting.” Rosa downs some pills and wonders what’s more important to Max, his family or his work? Mati tucks her into bed.

At Inferno, Ofelia is serving up drinks and is really happy with her tips. Lastra slimes up beside her while she’s at the bar and looks her over. She escapes quickly, but Lastra starts talking to Vio about how Ofelia learns fast. She’s of another category. He continues to stare at Ofelia and Vio looks really uncomfortable. Just then, in walks another of Vio’s headaches. It’s Marcial, who walks by her and into the casino. Vio tells Polo she doesn’t know what to do. She’s asked Marcial a thousand times to leave her alone. She doesn’t want to see him; but on the other hand she loves him. (Poor Polo.)

At his “business meeting” (aka, the bed in his love nest), Max is telling his Muñequita Vicky how much she means to him-- but in the most menacing way possible. She thanks him while trying to hold back tears of fear. She doesn’t want to get home too late and make her father worry. She tries to ease out of his embrace/death grip, but he grabs her even tighter. “I want you to be at my disposal whenever I want.”  Vicky says she’s here, but… “But NOTHING! I want you to be mine, forever.” Their encounters cannot depend on Nicole’s or her papa’s needs.  Vicky whimpers that she needs to work. He grabs her face. “Well, then we’ll have to see how to solve this.” He gives her a hard, possessive kiss and makes her earn her keep again under the sheets.

Vio tries to serve Marcial his drink and run, but he’s on her like white on rice again. He wants to see her this weekend. He’s got a good lawyer helping him with his divorce case. Vio says that’s got nothing to do with her and she doesn’t want to see him or to be the cause of separating a father from his children. If he’s doing it for her, then he shouldn’t get divorced. Marcial plays the “if you can tell me honestly that you don’t care for me, then I’ll go” card. Vio of course can’t say that, and just walks away. He goes back to his friend (fellow officer?) at his table and says that Vio is driving him crazy. His friend wants to know if he’d really leave his family for that woman. Marcial sure as heck doesn’t look sure.

Paz and Magda have a late night whisper chat at the dining table. Magda hasn’t been able to stop worrying about Vio and that awful place where she works since she got back from the capital. Paz is hopeful that with Luci setting up a ceramics workshop (taller) business here in Het Het, they could lure Vio back home to work with them. Magda knows better. Even when she was a little girl, Vio never liked that stuff. Paz says they have to leave things in God’s hands, because He never makes mistakes.

The next morning, Magda, Paz, Luci and CL are enjoying a yummy breakfast when they hear the church bells chime. It means they have a new priest in town (to replace the one who died). Ariche rushes in, wanting them all to go greet the new priest. Even his mother has already gone. The ladies say they’ll go after breakfast, and ask if Ariche’s already had his. Yes, a humble breakfast of tea with milk and bread. Luci offers him some of their heartier breakfast. He accepts gladly. He’ll never say no to a taco! CL pulls him on to his lap so that he can further enjoy the meal, and feeds Ariche from his own plate. A very sweet family scene.

At the TL breakfast table, Max and Pato are talking about Pato’s upcoming trip to San Francisco el Alto. Hannah asks if he’s going to see Luci. Pato says yes, with a huge smile on his face. Rosa has a hissy fit and once again brings up the “danger” Pato is exposing himself to, going in his “condition.” Max shuts her down. She should be happy that their son is more independent each day and is remaking his life. Rosa says she’s happy that their son is so determined (although she sure doesn’t look like she means it); she just doesn’t want him seeing THAT woman who has done so much harm to their family. (EXCUSE me!! Uhm…isn’t that the other way around?) Oh, wait, Pato is already saying what I was thinking.
P: What do you say about all the harm WE did to her, Mama?  The humiliations that YOU subjected her to from the moment she came to this house? And all for what? Because she looks like Aurora Linares? Or maybe more because of her friendship with CL? Or all for committing the mistake of falling in love with Rodrigo?
R: Yes, it was a mistake. A grave mistake. Because she should have never set her sights so high!

Connie can sense the crazy growing in her sister, so she begs Pato not to argue with his mother. Pato wonders if just telling the truth signifies arguing. It looks like truth telling is prohibited in this house! Pato angrily excuses himself from the table. Max gives Rosa a “look what you’ve done now” look from across the table.

In Het Het, CL, Luci and Ariche are walking back from church. Ariche comments on all the people there and all the sins the new Padre will be busy pardoning. This makes Luci laugh and she cups Ariche’s face lovingly. CL does the same to Luci’s face and says this is how he always wants to see her—happy and smiling. They have stopped just in front of a baby clothing store, which Ariche points out. Then he asks Luci a delicate question. Is this baby just going to be hers or does it have a papa? Luci has him sit and explains that the papa is Rod. “Ah! Then it’s a gift from God so that you and my friend Rod will never be separated.” Luci smiles. Ariche then worries that once Luci has her baby, she won’t love him as much. Luci says she will love him forever, and when the baby is born, it will love Ariche as much or more than she does. Ariche realizes that means the baby will be like his little brother/sister! He going to care for him/her and teach them all he knows. They decide to go into the store to buy clothes for the baby.

At her office, Gala is reaming out her assistants because the photographer couldn’t work magic by making a somber funeral look like a happy wedding. She’s not happy with any of the photos. “Do you know who I am? I’m Gala TORRESLANDA, and these pictures need to be up to my high stature.” She tells them to do some Photoshop trickery and pass them by her before publishing them in the magazine. She drives home the point to her executive assistant that she is now a Torreslanda and should be treated as such. Her usually good natured assistant looks like she’s ready to shove one of those Gala signature sky high red pumps up Gala’s Torreslanda backside.

When the gata (or the Gala) is away, the middle-aged mice will play, and it looks like Julie and Carola have had a mega party at Gala’s old apartment (now Julie’s apt). We see the remnants of a wild party—streamers, balloons, booze bottles, and general disarray. The only thing visible of Julie and Carola are their slipper-clad feet peeking out over the top of the couch. Then we see the rest of them, splayed out on the couch, in their silk nighties, with ice packs on their heads. Now that Gala’s married off, Julie intends to party even harder with her handsome Italians. She also wants to inaugurate this new phase (etapa) of her life (meaning the mother-in-law of a RICH Torreslanda) by shopping for a new wardrobe (guardarropa). Carola warns her that she’ll once again be complaining when she can’t pay her credit card bills and gets cut off. “That was before, girlfriend. Now, everything that I spend is covered under the account of Rodrigo Torre$$$landa.”

At TL headquarters, Rod is checking in with Gabriel about the trailer trucks with the donated supplies being ready to go to San Francisco el Alto for Pato’s trip. Marcos and Pato’s physical therapist Jorge are going too. Rod wants to make sure everything is perfect and ready for Pato’s trip and wants to see him off. He envies Pato being able to go and be near Luci, while he is tied here to a woman he doesn’t love and will never love. Gabriel says that sucks, but Gala’s his wife and she’s who he should love. Rod says it’s impossible. Gala isn’t Luciana. (No sh!t Sherlock.)

CL, Luci and Ariche gush over baby clothes. CL wants to buy all the outfits Luci liked.

At their taco corner, Lorenzo and Fabian are once again surrounded by a crowd of mostly pretty maids. They’ve been running out so fast that they think they should start bringing a hundred more tacos.  They’ll be able to do it if they help Estelita out more with the cooking and preparation. They both thank God for helping them with this success. Lor is already thinking of them setting up a permanent stand/shop—their own taqueria. Fabian is totally on board with that dream. They both smile from ear to ear.

Unfortunately, Roselena Torreslanda is at that moment trying to derail that dream. She’s gone down to the police station to make a formal complaint about the unsanitary tacos de canasta sellers that have set themselves up in her snooty neighborhood (colonia). None of the good citizens of her neighborhood would dare eat there, of course, but their maids and servants have. And if those maids get sick, then they will likely spread their illness to their employers. In any case, these kinds of street vendors are not permitted in their fancy neighborhood. Rosa gives the police the address and Lorenzo’s name. Then she gets out her hand sanitizer to wipe away:  a) the police station grime; b) the filthy feeling the thought of Lorenzo’s unsanitary tacos brings; and/or c) the guilt she fleetingly feels over ruining the livelihood of a poor, hardworking young man. You decide.

Avances: Pato arrives at Luci’s home in Het Het!

Loved the title and whole recap Vivi, wonderful! Ah Rosa, horrible, rat of a woman. Hubby watched with me, and even he said she needs some divine justice on her head. This woman will stop at nothing to ruin Luci and her family! I hope Claudio comes back and helps Lorenzo and Fabian.

Oh, and Gagme, horrible rat #2. That beautiful wedding dress all ruined. I thought for a minute there, Gagme slipped something into Dead To Me's drink, but it was even worse than I thought. If she thinks he will ever sleep with her again, she is sadly mistaken. She is just as bad as the Champagne Queen as far as prestige and money go. She is Gagme Torreslanda by Dios and never forget! Oh Gagme please!

Loved the phantasma that showed up at Copio's lol. I bet it was Ariche having them on.

Don A sure looked pensive. I bet he thinks twice before he goes jerking Luci around again.

Ah Luci, just a sweet woman, compared to Gagme. Loved how she called Claudio Papa finally. Loved what she told Ariche about the baby. Speaking of the baby, I wonder if she will tell Pato tomorrow what is going on with her,and if he will tell her Dead to Me got married. I can't wait for tomorrow. Oh, and Hubby loves Luci. He hopes Dead to Me pays big time for not listening to Luci. I told him he is already paying in spades ie Gagme.

Madelaine- I am so glad your hubby is seeing well enough again to enjoy the show with you.

Yes indeed, Rod is living hell on earth right now being married to Gala. It's divine justice.

As Judy said this weekend, it may seem like the bad guys are winning, but they aren't. Their moments of triumph are short-lived, when reality comes crashing down on them. Rosa, Gala and Julie can't change the fact that Rod, Pato, Hannah and Melissa all LOVE Luci. There aint nothing they can do about that and it continue to drive them batty.

I also love that Luci has naturally started calling CL papa every now and then. Soon it will be all the time.

I also can't wait for tomorrow's episode. Both Pato and Luci have a lot to tell, but will they?

Vivi, love your title, recap and you for doing this.

I don't care what anyone says, Rosa is just plain evil. She knows exactly what she is doing. Pato finally has her number is not putting up with her nonsense any longer.

Luci is wonderful with that sweet little Ariche.

Dead to Me needs to stay married to Gagme until one or both of them die. I about fell out of my chair when I heard that he got a pre-nup before signing his death warrant.

Max scares me to death. I worry about Aldo and Vicki.

Tomorrow should be interesting.

Rosemary Primera

Rosemary P.- I think Pato has had Rosa's number for a long time. Unfortunately, he loves her and also worries about her.

Max scares me too. Vicky is really the only person who has fully seen the monster side of him. Poor girl has gotten herself into a deep mess with this affair.

I so agree about Luci and Ariche. She will be a wonderful mom. Gala, not so much.

Love it! I am trying to get caught up and have missed so much!

Vivi thanks so much for your recap. Loved the title and your commentary when poor Bobo said Gala is not Luci. Statements like that and the director making him brood don't help.

Add me to the list of those afraid for Vicky. I wish she had enough sense to leave the country or at least the DF. Get away from this man before he kills you.

I hope Luci and Pato do speak up. He'll be shattered when he learns what his mother did (and this is just the beginning). And I loved his rebuffing Rosa's blackmail attempts.

I too am with Karen about Pato. It was wonderful how he stood up to la loca! I love what he said about her enablers too, and put the kibosh on Connie and Mati, and what surprised me was Max agreed with him. I wonder if Luci will tell him everything, not just about the baby, but about exactly what la loca did to her. He already knows what Rod did to her, the not listening. So much could be said cause Pato knows that Dead to Me still loves Luci.

Add me to the list of being afraid for Vicky too. I can't wait for the anvil to hit Max too, as far as Vicky and the fraud is concerned. He is truly ruthless. I want Vicky to get away from Max too and hook up with Aldo and finally be happy. Hopefully, by the end of this TN this will happen.

Ohhh, and Gagme said domestica like three times this epi. I am trying to keep count of how many times she says it, even though Rod corrected her last epi I think to call her Luci. Gagme has said it now about 40 times. We could all be drunk from her saying this, if we took a drink every time she said it. lol.

Love your recap Vivi! And yes, since I was sure Dumbass had moved too quickly for a pre-nup, color me stunned to here there is one. Stunned too that Gala signed it!

Gagme was her most disgusting last night. And she thinks this is the way to win over Mr. Universe? I half expected him to either push her, or jump himself off that roof. And why does Rod have to pay for the Champagne Queen's lifestyle? I would love to see him refuse to pay her bills. Love to see her selling tacos on a streetcorner.

Speaking of which--Rosa is a spoiled brat. Period. She doesn't get her way, she just lashes out to the best poor slob in her path, and this time it's Lorenzo. There is no mental illness there--there is just years of getting her own way and being nasty when she doesn't.Cripe, a grown woman needs to be tucked into bed, and her sister again trying to keep peace by telling everyone else not to argue--but she won't tell Rosa to tone it down. Typical.

Which leads to our hero, Pato. Oh, how happy to see that bigger neck brace gone. And I'm guessing when he gets to Het Het all the truths will come spilling out. Wonder if he will be the one to convince Luci NOT to tell Rod about the baby. She has three months to show---little hint from CL that they can manipulate the truth over the next three months. THink Pato will claim the baby is his? But that makes me sad and happy at the same time--TN laws are never good to the poor 2nd great guys who tries to save the damsel.

I love little Ariche. I keep wondering if something may happen to his real mama, and Luci will wind up adopting him. Loved that breakfast scene.

Simply outstanding Vivi. The title was amazing - all inclusive and laugh out loud delicious. Your conversation translations and embedded vocabulary were much appreciated.

"two mamas without boundaries" and "Gala isn’t Luciana. (No sh!t Sherlock" were a few of my favorites.

Like this splendid recap, I enjoyed every single scene last night. Even the Gossip Girlz had me smiling away. Of course I hated Max's continued terrorizing of Vicky. Color me worried along with you, Rosemary, Karen and Madelaine.

If burning Luci's wedding dress didn't prove Gala is psychotic...

And now, for the highlight. Pato. I just love how he comes on the scene just at the precise moment his wisdom and honesty is needed! daisy, I was also happy to see his neck brace gone. But honestly? That coral shirt had me totally mesmerized. Hot, hot, hot. Whew! Excuse me while I fan myself.

Wonderful recap and comments. Happy Tuesday!

Diana

Excellent stuff, Vivi.

On the Torreslanda lawn, two mamas without boundaries are discussing something that isn’t their business. TN gold. This scene occurs in at least half the novelas I've seen in my life. It's great that Rosa has at least one of her adult children standing up to her even if he can't stand. I want to see Pato recover and walk out of that hellhole disguised as a mansion.

Gala is a true sociopath and she may be going down the same path of crazy as her suegra. Only the fact that Rod is technically the hero should have kept him from tossing her off the roof by her hair which (if TN justice holds) will go up in flames at the end.

When Rod gets Julie's credit card bill I hope he refuses to pay it. He should cancel her credit cards and make her go to work. Gala can find her something to do at the magazine. If Rod can work for his father, Julie can work for her daughter.

We still don't know the ultimate source of Rosa's crazy. I hope we find out soon.

Karen and Mads- ITA about Pato and about Vikcy.

Daisynjay- I really don’t get how Gala thinks she’s going to win over Rod with this attitude either. Being a flaming bitchy harpy is not the way to a man’s heart. Your description of Rosa as a spoiled brat is perfect. That’s exactly what she is. A big baby who throws tantrums and needs to be tucked into bed and get attention all the time.

Diana- Pato did look wonderful in that coral colored shirt!

Urban- I had to laugh when I watched Amor Bravio last night because I knew you would have to also recap a scene of two mothers inappropriately discussing the lack of intimacy between their two grown and married kids. LOL!

Yes, indeed. I think we're going to learn the source of Mama Dragon's crazy before Rosaloca's.

@VIVI...include me with all the rest who loved your title and all the zingers. You managed to work in every detail while maintaining a smooth flow for each scene. Great writing skills, amiga mia.

I think my favorite quip was when you wondered how Rosa could actually fix the lack of intimacy as Julie demanded. Stand there and coach them through each step?...Oh yeah, aside from the inappropriateness, knowing how Rosa shrinks from intimacy herself...well, it was laugh out loud funny. Wonderful all the way through.

Simply horrified by the burning the lovely wedding dress scene. Ugh.

Also, always wonder about these "never will give him a divorce" statements. As I understand it, they have express divorce arrangements in Mexico City where you can divorce someone even if they don't agree and don't sign. And apart from Muslim countries where the man can initiate divorce, but not the woman, nothing can impede a divorce forever. But...I know..makes for more drama, so bring it on!

See Rod? THIS is how you tell off your mother. If the guy in the wheelchair can defend himself then Mr. Universe shouldn't have a problem. Pato just gets better and better. I hope that Luci tells him the WHOLE truth, but it might be a little early for that to come out since Pato would be one to confront his mother and tell Rod what's up.

Rod, who is showing teensy bits of strength against Gala and will hopefully tell Juli to kiss off when she presents him with HER bills. The marriage contract was to care for Gala and the baby not Juli heathen lifestyle.

Speaking of, since when do orgies include balloons and streamers? Was is someones birthday?

Kelly

Vivi---I loved your title also. It couldn't have been better.

Fight fire with fire. If I had been DimRod, after the wedding dress burning, I would have walked over to Gagme's closet, took twelve of her best dresses and burnt them in the same BBQ. Take that Gagme!
the gringo

OMG Vivi your recaps keep getting better and better. The title sums it all up. Gagme is like an old African proverb that goes like this " a goat thinks he is messing up his master's wall, what he doesn't realize is the stain he see is his own blood." All her schemes are turning into double edge swords. The more she tries to damage Luci the more he loves her. Latest stupid move, burning the dress. Might as well burn his heart because that's the only way to get his attention. When he is dead. Connie and Mati should take lessons from Pato. What a man!! Unable to stand and yet stands as tall as a giant. Luci should take notice. Her sperm donor is dead to all, including himself. I bet it was Oscar who came up with the pre-nup. Ros is going to hell with very sanitized hands.
Thanks again Viv. Simply marvelous.

Olive

Judy- Yes, considering how Rosa feels about intimate relations with her own husband, I don’t think she’s the most adequate person to give Rod advice about that. As for the divorce, short of killing him, I don’t know how Gala thinks she could prevent Rod from getting one. Sure, maybe she could delay it a bit by making unreasonable demands, but with a pre-nup I don’t know how she’d even be able to do that.

Kelly- Rod needs to take lessons from Pato on how to stand up to your overbearing parents, and mean it. I also hope that he tells off Gala and her mama when they try to present him with Julie’s credit card bill. Or maybe Gala will lie and say it’s hers.

Gringo- I like your idea of Rod burning a bunch of Gala’s fancy dresses in retaliation. Bwahahaha!

Olive- So true about Gala. Her life would have been so better had she just moved on from Rod after he dumped her at the altar. She would have looked like the wronged party, people would have been sympathetic, she would have her pride intact. She would have her successful business, and would have found some other rich dude who’s just as materialistic as she is, and would have kept her mama living the high life. She could have had a man who really wanted her. Instead she’s stuck in a hellish, loveless marriage, with a baby on the way that she doesn’t want. Stupid girl.

Thanks for the recap, and the comments.

Luci's wedding dress was kind of scary the way it burned, and burned. Maybe Gala had turned the gas on in the grill in advance. Otherwise, that was the most flammable garment ever. If Luci had worn it to her wedding (that wasn't) and got close to a candle...

Emilia- LOL! Yeah, I assumed Gala must have doused it with lighter fluid the way it went up.

Vivi and Emilia- Oh I didn't think of lighter fluid for the burning of that dress. It did burn so fast and the flames were really high. I never thought when we recapped that dress being put in that credenza it would show up again. I think you and I recapped that Vivi, in the beginning of the TN.

Gringo- so loved what you said about the Gagme's dresses, he should have burned ALL her good clothes and told her to go and never darken his door again, but of course he wants to make sure the bebe is ok, otherwise I really think he would have done it.

Mads- I like that these writers don't seem to forget about plot points. They just save them for later. It was just perfect that the dress continues to cause Rod headaches, and in a way he probably never thought. I wish Melissa and Hannah could find out about the dress burning. They would probably get a kick knowing that something they sent to Rod to show him what a jerk he was being, would end up causing both Rod and Gala grief.

Vivi, stellar recap, so much fun. I enjoy your writing so much.
My favorites,
"This sounds like hell for both of them, but Gala doesn’t seem to realize this." and how!!
"Rod is complaining to Pato about his wife trying to sleep with him. Gasp!! Pato doesn’t get it either."
"...two mamas without boundaries..."
and best of all, "Julie thinks Rosa HAS to do something about it, but short of standing over their bed and coaching them through the act, I and Rosa don’t see what she can do about it."

I'm not getting what possible benefit Gala is getting from her own behavior. Time for the beanies.

And...yes, if these women were really having Italian men over for ...whatever, the balloons, ribbons and confetti are just...weird, right along with the chintzy set of the Inferno.

Thanks Vivi! I have to say that Julie and her friend Carola, WTH IS UP WITH THAT? She doesn't invite a guy over to celebrate getting rid of Gala, she invites another woman and 4 guys. WHAT A FREAK.

In a way Rosa's complaint about the tacos made me more angry than anything she's ever done. JUST SO MEAN. What ever happened to her brain scans and "estudios?" For awhile I thought they would find whatever in her brain was making her a monster, take it out and she would be nice!
