Amor Bravío #27 (Uni 22) Fri 9/14/12 A Moment of Truth for Dan; a Confession for Cam; and Possible Curtains for the Curate

Cap 27

As Daniel/D’Andres lends his arm to support a smiling Camila, now forever in his debt for talking her through her fears and getting her behind the wheel of a car again, Dionisio is inside Isadora’s private rooms of the main house complaining to Isssa that the three of them have gone from one major clusterf!%* to another with this land project.  Isssa says she’ll personally clean up their little problem at the hospital (cuz you gotta do it yerself if y’a really want it done right and right away).  Dio’s horns start showing as he says it seems this isn’t Isssa’s first time at the rodeo.

D’Andres brings Agustina and Cam to the hospital.  No change with Padre, says Amanda, but he did survive the night which is something to hang their sombrero’s on.  D’Andres takes Amanda back to the B&B to change, and Cam talks the doc into letting her see how Padre Baldemero is.

Meanwhile, Isssa tries blowing off Dio’s questioning gaze and insinuations.  He’s turned on now, totally psyched, and he grabs her, kissing her neck as he talks strategy.   He’s going to convince the chauffeur to come over to the dark side with them to make sure the guy keeps quiet about Padre’s so called accident.  “—Everyone in the world has their price.”  He’ll get D’Andres more involved in their day-to-day transactions cuz nobody wants to stay as just a driver.   Dio plans to pay him for odd jobs that are more and more incriminating, like intercepting the real death notice when it comes; thus eventually D’Andres will feel obligated to keep quiet.  Hearing this turns Deadly Dora on as well.  Ooooh! How she loves his determination!  “—You are gutsy!”  [Tener agallas=gall, guts, gills…er…gonads/aka, in the streetwise vernacular—ballsy!]  They demonstrate their mutual admiration by sucking face and simultaneously swallowing each other’s tongue….. (Bully for them!  ¡Salud!)

Down in the kitchen, Luz Maria informs Tío Leoncio that she heard Padre survived the night.   Grubby Tubbs warns her that he’s wise to what all she’s been up to, so she’d better watch her step.  Luzma throws it back in his face and says the one who’d better watch out is him so that the owners don’t fire his fat ass for drinking.  And, if they happen to try putting her ma out on the street along with him….well, she just won’t allow that!  Now he’s been warned!  He stares back at her and sneers.  Ha!  The only way he’s leaving that place is feet first.  (All of us here in this side of Viewerville are more than ready to oblige the stinking cur.)

Across the way at Buenaventura, Pablo and Mariano are chatting about the upcoming fiesta and the Stockman Association’s posthumous recognition of Don Daniel Monterde.  Pablo says it’s a shame that Camila Monterde’s married; she and Mario might have hit it off.  Naw, Ana is the love of Mariano’s life and he’s not interested in meeting anyone else.  They decide to head into town since Pablo needs to get something for Luzma.  Eliana, who’s been eavesdropping on them again, walks in and asks if she can go into town with them cuz she’s soooo bored there.  Pablo says sorry, maybe next time; but this is just man stuff.  She gets snitty and walks off in a huff.   Mariano tells his little bro that he was a bit rude to the gal.  Pablo says sorry, but if he’s seen in town with her there’d be Hell to pay with Luzma.  “--I’ll be divorcing before getting married!”  Eliana’s of course been listening the whole time and allows herself a triumphant little smirk.

Now Isssa returns to the hospital.  She is secretly disturbed to hear that Cami wormed her way into seeing the padre, but she’s also secretly relieved to hear Cam say he was still unconscious, and that there’s been no change really.

Once in the padre’s room, Cami prays and blesses him with the little picture of the saint and leaves it on the table in front of the monitor of his vital signs.  He reacts.  At least the squiggles on the screen he’s been hooked up to show he recognizes/hears her voice, but nothing more happens.  When Cam comes out, Isssa asks her what happened.  “—Did he speak to you?  Did he say anything about the accident?“  Again, Issssa’s silently relieved to hear Cam didn’t get more than a reflex response when she tried talking to him.

While Amanda gets cleaned up and eats, Dan heads over to Vivi’s place to catch Rafa and Viv up on the news.  Between the three of them they’ve figured out that Dionisio and Alonso are the ones behind Dan’s misfortunes.   It’s unbelievable, says Vivi, what people will do for ambition’s sake, just to get what they want!”  So, she says, apparently Alonso married Camila and now Dio is back, involving himself with this family and her mother, so he’ll have full control over all of it!!  Dan says he’s certain they were the ones behind Miriam’s death and want him dead, also!  That’s why they plotted to get that false death notice.  Rafa asks about Abraham.  Dan says the guy hates him and believes he’s the one who killed his sister.  No way could he trust Abe.  They’ll just have to concern themselves for the present with those in the immediate vicinity and be extremely cautious.  They see what happened to Padre B, he reminds them.  Dan then mentions that Don Daniel wrote him in that letter that Cami is a victim of her husband’s.

A bit later, Dio pays a visit to Alonso at the ranch’s office.  They have a nifty pissin’ contest.   “—I told you to call if you’re coming for anything other than wooing Agustina!”  “—And I told you to do things right and all you’ve done is screw up!  Anyway, it isn’t a social call!  We’ve got to protect ourselves!  I need a photograph of that imbecile, Daniel Diaz Acosta, no matter what!”  “--Good luck with that considering you told us the guy destroyed all his computerized files during the jail break back in Chile!”  “--So dig him up on the computer or something—anything!”  Al’s quick and dirty way is to go snooping at the rectory for Padre B.’s photo.  Dio is beside himself with frustration, having to strategize with that chimpanzee in a necktie across from him.  “--Nothing doing!  We’ve got no reason to be digging through his stuff!  It’ll raise suspicion!”   Al munches on his unmanly manicure while considering his alternatives.

Meanwhile, Rafa and Vivi finish reading Don Daniel’s letter.  They piece together the timeline and Rafa has a hunch, he says, that it could’ve been the news about Alonso’s plot that gave him that heart attack.  Dan grumbles that he wishes he could just off those murderers right then and there!  Rafa gets panicky after hearing that.  He makes Dan promise he won’t get his hands bloody for the sake of revenge!  “--Let the law handle this!”  Dan says fine, but no way can he stand around doing nothing [quedarse de brazos cruzados]!   Viv asks Dan if he plans to tell Cam who he really is.  “--Yeah, but not right away.”    He’s sworn to protect her for Don Daniel, since he’d asked him to take care of her in that letter.  “--I will protect her with my life if need be! The less she knows the better, for now.”

At the same time, Dio asks Al what he knows about his chauffeur and how the guy ever got hired.  How could a perfect stranger be allowed to work inside the house like he does?  Al says Natalie suggested him, but that hiring him was all Cam’s doing.  He’d have to ask her.   Dio, who is not a patient man, especially when dealing with…er…the lower species of the animal kingdom, gritches to the komodo dodo that he’ll just have to do some digging on his own to be certain he’ll get some answers for a change!

Back at Vivi’s place, Viv says she sort of feels that Cam should be told about this because knowledge is power.  Rafa agrees she’s got a point.  Vivi adds that Cam might feel betrayed if she learns he’s been hiding things from her.  Dan says they’ve got to realize that he and Cam are in grave danger from stone killers.  If they find out she’s wise to them, they’ll kill her just like they did with Miriam, and like they tried with Padre Baldemero!!  He’d rather she felt betrayed and was safe.

Rafa wonders then if they could somehow let Cami know that the others want to sell the ranch that she’d get the hint something’s up.  Dan says yeah, they can frame it like, hmmm, Rafa’s wanting to buy some land of his own; he tells Cam then that he figured hers was for sale because during the discussions he found out there was an offer to sell the M.Q. based on the assessment that was just done.  They agree that’s a  plan.  Rafa stops to ask Dan at that point if, now that they know Cami is not involved with the others, will it change his plans for Camila?  Vivi demands to know what he means by that!  Ruh-roh!  Dan’l swallows and breathes deep.  He knows he definitely has some ‘splainin’ to do!

Dio shows up at the hospital again, feigning concern; he and Isssa hold a between-the-lines conversation in which she signals that they’re still in the clear because there’s been no change in Padre B.’s condition.  The two convince Gussie and Cam to return to the ranch with Dio while Isssa tends to her “repairs” at her house.  Dora allows herself a sigh of relief once they’re all gone and makes a beeline for the nurses’ station, where she begs pathetically enough to talk the (errant) charge nurse into two minutes to “visit” the unconscious padre.

Rafa, meanwhile, is forced to give Viv the outline of Dan’s plan to seduce and abandon Camila as revenge for causing Miriam’s death.  Vivi verbally dive bombs at Dan, making it very clear that in no way should any man ever do that to a woman, especially when she’s his cousin and he isn’t sure she’s even guilty of anything!!  Dan swears to her that that was all before he knew better and was still blinded by his pain and thirst for revenge.  (OK.  In Dan’ls defense, Viviana didn’t live the nightmare Danny Boy did either.  It would definitely change anybody’s perspective from bright white to very dowdy shades of gray in my book!)  “—She’s your cousin; blood of the man your mother chose!”  Dan quickly defends himself saying he can’t be sure that she really is his cousin; and his mother never ever mentioned the guy to him!   That doesn’t matter to La Feminista Ésa!  Besides, his intentions should be honorable ones: either of affection or that due one’s cousin.

Out in La Malquerida’s back forty, now, the ranch hands are getting things set up for the bull match. (I strongly suspect we’re talking bull-riding rodeo here.)  This gives the grumpy, grossly grubby tubby Tío Leo another chance to bawl-out Rolando for something.  Alocolonso rides up a minute later in an ATV or some such and gives Scrubby a verbal drubbing for drinking again.  Al advises him against saying a word about their discussion from the night before since the blood money is on its way.

At about the same time, D’andres arrives at Sra. Amanda’s B&B to take her back to the hospital.  She goes upstairs to find her purse.  While he waits, Dan notices a picture of his mother and Amanda as young girls that is on the bookshelf and he sighs.   “—Mama!” Amanda hears that and sees how he’s handling the photo of Agatha.  She has her Aha! moment, finally putting two and two together, and notes how much he looks like his mother.  “—You aren’t D’Andres; you are Daniel!!  I should have realized!!”  Dan admits his true identity to her and begs her not to tell a soul!

Viv now has had a few minutes to mull things over and she suggests to Rafa that if he still is serious about a relationship with Cam, he better make his play.  Vivi says that Daniel’s flirtations have been working on Cam and Cam’s beginning to feel an attraction to the guy.  Rafa has got to turn her and win her affections, even talk her into leaving there for good, so she can forget Dan totally.  Does Dan know Rafa has feelings for Camila?  Yes, says Rafa, and he plans to open up to her about them as soon as he can.   Vivi’s worried for her.  “—Once she finds out he’s her cousin and a fugitive from the law, it will break her heart.  You tell her how you feel and I will do what I can to get her to stop thinking of Daniel.”  That’s a plan!

Dan, meanwhile, promises to give Sra. Amanda the details later that night. He admits to her that the padre knew who he was and that’s why he’s now in the hospital.  “—Oh, so Padre’s accident wasn’t really an accident?”  Nope.  He swears he’s totally innocent of everything and a victim of someone else’s ambition for power.  Amanda assures him with a warm and motherly smile that she never felt otherwise, and they share a big bear hug.  (Awwww! Doncha just love it???)

Now Isssssadora enters the padre’s intensive care room.  Just as she’s about to flip the switches on his life support system a doctor walks in and angrily demands to know who she is and what she’s doing there!  (Viewerville figures that Issssa has got to be silently cursing her bad luck again.  Maybe it’s all due to the photo of that saint lying up against the monitor.)  The doctor shoos the buxom broad out of the room and asks for an explanation.  “—Just p-p-p-praying f-f-f-or the padre.”  (Sorry, but Isssa does not do humble well at all!)  She’s reminded that absolutely no one is allowed in that intensive care room!!  (If I were that doc, my next stop would be the nurses’ station to tack a little bit of nurse-hide to the center of the wall just under the giant clock where everyone looks to get the time!!)

Dio arrives back at the M.Q. with Cam and Gussie.  Al’s with them and we get a lot of bunkum from him and Dio about how badly they all feel at the poor padre’s unfortunate situation.  Cami mentions how bad it was to see him in that state.  Al tries to put his arm around her to comfort her, but she flinches and moves away from him immediately.  The two mention they both have something else to do and go their separate ways. That leaves Dionisio, the silver-tongued scoundrel, to sweet-talk (and subvert) Gussie to his heart’s content.  Very shortly he gets to the real reason he’s there.  “—Tell me, if I can be so bold, how did D’Andres get hired?  I mean, a complete stranger is pretty dangerous to have working inside a hacienda.”  She assures him that he came with a wonderful letter of recommendation.  Dio asks if he can speak with the people who gave it to him.  Gussie sees no problem with that.  We get a little more innocent slobberingly stupid avowals of affection between these two.   FF>>FF>> (Get me a barf bag, somebody!!!!!!!!!)

Amanda gets back to the hospital and rescues Issssa, who has D’Andres drive her back to the hacienda immediately.
In the city there is now a new floor manager at Ximena’s favorite dress shop.  Stuff’s been missing, but not on this gal’s watch, there won’t be!
Speaking of the profligate, purloining and pilfering among us, Gussie calls Ximena to ask her down for the weekend to meet her new fiancé.  Ximena laughs condescendingly at the thought of mama and another man.  “—Well, if he’s a millionaire then you should be able to double my monthly allowance!  Bye!”  Click!

Al, meanwhile, hornswoggles Cami into writing him a check for the three million pesos by telling her it’s for the circus expenses and other rancho necessities.  Nat, while attending to her filing, overhears and is secretly flabbergasted at the amount.

D’Andres arrives back at the M.Q. with Isssa just as Dio is leaving.  He greets her in the driveway and signals through between the lines subtext that she was prevented again from finishing off the padre.  There’s always a next time; and he hopes she gets one.  Isssa goes inside and Dio takes the opportunity to approach D’Andres.  “—I have an interesting proposition to discuss with you.  Can you come by later on?”  He hands D’Andres his business card and D’An agrees to stop by.

Inside Cami’s office, Vivi stops by for a chat.   Cam mentions how grateful she is to D’Andres for getting her driving again.

In the kitchen, meanwhile, Natalie complains to D’Andres about having to locate a picture of Daniel Diaz Acosta for Alonso on the Internet.  D’An begs her not to do the search; he will explain things tonight at her mother’s, but for now just don’t.

Back in Lonnie’s office, Mama-Dora gripes to Sonnie about how close she came to killing the priest when the damned doctor showed up.  Al says he’s glad cuz he doesn’t want Mama guilty of killing a priest!  She insists in some sort of obnoxiously simplistic tone that they have to tie up all their loose ends.  “-Don’t tell me you intend to try again!”  Isssa says well, yes, and BTW, did you find the three million pesos they needed?  Al brags to her about the way he bamboozled Camila out of them and gloats that he’s not such an inept fool as she continually claims he is.  She sniffs that well, maybe once in a while he gets it right.  They make some agreement to put the money into her checking account (I think) so that they don’t raise suspicions by having a ranch foreman showing up trying to deposit his own three million pesos into a bank account.

After downing two or three much needed tragos of tequila (Is the sun over the yardarm yet?  I thought it was still morning…..) Cami is finally able to admit to her BFF that she’s fallen in love with D’Andres!  Hmmm.  Vivi and Rafa, it would seem, both have their work cut out for them.

Hi Jardinera,

Can't wait for your recap.

I've been noticing Isadora's facial expressions, she reminds me so much of Lucille Ball!!!....lol

Ann-NYC

Too many people are knowing about Dan's real identity:

Vivi
Rafa
Padre
Amanda
(soon) Natalia

We already know Rafa has loose lips, can Natalia keep her chismostic mouth shut too? (then again, Natalia's specialty is lurking in the shadows, gathering information...she could be useful to Dan for bringing Alonso down)

People suspicious of Dan:

Dionisio
Ivibora
Alonso
Leoncio

Who did Natalia tell about the 3 million pesos? That could be useful information for Dan.

If Padre dies, the #1 suspect should be Ivibora since she keeps lurking around Padre's hospital room. But being TN, they won't suspect her at all.

Finally watched the episode. Rafa and Viv will now connive to get Camila to fall in love with Rafa. Except they obviously don't know about TN rule #17, which states categorically that no person shall fall in love with another person after they have already fallen in love with a different person until said person has died or is believed to be dead. So it will be useless to try, because Camila has already fallen in love with Daniel, and he's still alive.

"Chismostic mouth" !!!!! Anon207, you kill me!

Hope you will have one of your famous lists up soon. :)

A. Lurker

Cathyx, love TN rule #17. Yup, Rafa might as well not even try. I'm glad that more people are finding out. I enjoy watching things unfold, especially when it happens without having to go through weeks of re-hashed scenes. This is a good TN. Thanks for the recaps, they help so much. Looking forward to reading this one Jardinera.

I also don't mind the good guys knowing the truth. This means they can team up and work together, which the good guys in tns almost NEVER do. That's why the bad guys pull ahead for so long because they work as a team till the end when they turn on each other. Meanwhile the good guys run around in circles keeping valuable secrets from each other until the end, when they work together and take down the bad guys.

It does make it more difficult to keep things under wraps, but they need to only/speak in some neutral, servant-free, guest-free space (like Rafa's place) where there is no chance of being overheard. The ranch is too dangerous for any discussions and info sharing.

..they need to only meet/speak in some neutral...

Thanks to all the recappers. I am looking forward to Jardinera's recap. I'm sure it will be wonderful as always.

Just had to comment on Dionisio playing kissyface with his "novia". What a hoot! Best scene of the show.

I fell asleep on the sofa watching Project Runway and when I switched over to Bravio, I thought I saw a scene in the hospital with the doctor telling Padre's friends that he was in grave condition and should go the ranch, where he could have better attention. Did I dream this? Or do I have to screw my beanie on tighter?

I can just imagine the "better attention" Padre will get at the ranch. Like a pillow over the face or poison in the IV!

Aleta

@Aleta: I think the doctor said there was nothing more that Padre Baldy's friends could do for him there so they should go back to the ranch. He also said that no one was permitted to see him (though he had allowed Camila to see him). The next morning Isadora begged a nurse to let her see him. The nurse gave in, of course. Isadora was about to off him when the same doctor from the night before came in and told her she was not allowed to be in there.

Vivi in DC wisely noted that "The ranch is too dangerous for any discussions and info sharing." Alas, that's why I'm afraid the Good Guys will continue to discuss the situation there. This IS, after all, a telenovela. :-)

JaneS: Sorry, amiga, but I finally decided just in case to delete your question because I double-checked the avances and no, that scene is not in them for Monday.

This one is coming at a great pace, IMNSHO, considering, and it has from the start. María Zarattini keep 'em comin' that way!

Thanks Jardinera, and I've got a barf bag for each of us. Aggie is such easy prey.

I think it's funny how Camila needs tequila to deal with her growing love for Dan. If it were me, I'd want a clear head so I remember every single detail.

Good work, Jardinera. I see I will have interesting things to write about in tomorrow's episode.

Alonssso will screw up again somehow. I hope he never can fix his other little problem.

Eliana doesn't really want Pablo; this is another one-upwomanship game. She's like Maripaz (of LFdD) without the booze.

Fabulous recap Jardinera! Loved all your nicknames for Leon, especially Grubby Tubbs. LOL!

I'm glad that Vivi is alarmed by the possibility that Dan and Cam are first cousins, and that Cami's feelings have been growing for Dan. Dan and Rafa have not seemed concerned enough about this, IMO. Hello! Major social taboo!

I agree that this tn has been moving along well. But now that most of the good guys are not living in ignorance and working together, how will they drag this out? The bad guys must rally and have a few wins to keep this going. Will Cami and Gussy be kept in ignorance till the very end? Otherwise, how is it that the bad guys don't get shut down right away? I know, I know. We'll just have to wait and see and trust the writers.

Cathyx- I really enjoy watching those scenes when Dio hoodwinks poor, gullible Gussy. I find them funny. Both Cesar (Dio) and Leticia (Isa) are playing their villains with a wink and a smile. Those are the kinds of villains I enjoy watching, because they so clearly enjoy being villains. :)

I'm not a drinker myself, but I like that we have a heroine who enjoys knocking back a tequila or two, just for the heck of it.

AnonOne: Welcome!
====
ViviDC/Cathx = yeah, I know those two veterans are enjoying these roles. They ham it up so well it makes it very easy to hiss (just the way they want us to)! Maybe I just can't handle poor, befuddled widows like Gussie. I like Cam's character cuz at least they've given her half a brain as the heroine. Viviana is quick on her feet also, but sometimes a bit too opinionated and assertive, aka, in your face.

Thanks for the great recap, Jardinera. The scene I was referring to was not in the avances, but in the opening credits which I didn't realize were in the spoiler zone. My apologies.

JaneS- A lot of times the scenes in the opening credits don't really happen in the tn. They just imply the relationship between the characters. So, that opening with Leon threatening the Padre implies that they have a bad relationship and that Leon will be a threat to Padre at some point-- which has happened.

Jardinera thanks for the recap. Points for using Curate in the title! I'm really enjoying this TN and think I must credit CdlF. I've seen him playing second fiddle but he's quite fun and charming as a lead!

ITA that while its unique the good guys seem to be together as a team but there a few good guy liabilities. First and foremost is Rafa. How many times and ways does it need to be explained to him that Daniel's life is in danger? And yet, he mindlessly calls him Daniel ALL THE TIME.

My peeve from Friday - was it really wasn't necessary for him to ask Daniel if the latter's plan to seduce Cami was still on? All that would do is make Vivi angry again and as Jardinera noted, if I had been through all that Danny Boy had I wouldn't be trying to break hearts.

And finally as someone noted this week, Rafa's potential jealousy over Cami being in love with Daniel could make him turn. I hope not but this guy has been exhibiting Alonso-like intelligence which makes me concerned for those on his team.

Natalia could be a liability as well but I'm hoping her crush on Dan will keep her mouth shut. But her potential jealousy (when Cami and Dan get together) may make her lips loose.

Vivi - I'm also happy your namesake has noted the bloodline problem. She hopefully will be the catalyst to make Daniel find out if he's Cami's primo or not.

I'm back in the game. Kudos to all the recappers whilst I caught up.

Anon207--Love your lists. Where do we stick Abraham and that Julian person who is in Chile right now.

So glad we all got to read Don Daniel's letter along with Dandres.

Please, can we get the first cousin thing out of the way????
It was Gussie who was a first cousin to Don Daniel's wife. He never had any children with her. If and of course we know it's a BIG IF, Dandres is the issue of Agatha and Don Daniel, he can never be Camila's FIRST cousin.

Anita, trying to get back on track.

Anita: Glad you're back in the swing of things, so to speak. Gussie's 2nd husband was Don Daniel's brother, and Camila's daddy, wasn't he? Her 1st hubby was that sheister who engendered Ximena with her, right?

Thanks Jardinera for a great recap of a lot of excitement. The novela appears to be moving fast but in true novela style, it has to build to the point where the bad guys reign havoc unmercifully on the good guys right up to the very end. So far Cami hasn't really suffered which is a novela requirement for the herione. In any case, I'm enjoying the journey.

Ann: Lucille Ball is a good comparison, ITA! LC is terrific with facial expressions on t.v.

No. Don Daniel's brother was Augustina's first husband. Her second husband was the con man who engendered Ximena, fleeced Augustina, and ran off. Ximena is younger than Camila and is no blood relation to Don Daniel.

This comment has been removed by the author.

Thanks for the recap, J. I sure had a couple of things wrong in what I thought was happening.

Cindy

Like Anita, I've been trying to get caught up. This novela doesn't quite grab me as well as LQNPA but I'm trying to watch when I can. If it wasn't for the work of all the recappers, I'd never have a chance. Thank you.

I too thought the scene with Dio and Gussie was hilarious.

Jardinera, "komodo dodo" ......LOL!!!

Komodo dodo is right. Alonssso is quite stupid. How did he ever pass the bar exam?

Urban has the family tree straight. If Don Daniel is Daniel's father (which I doubt) then he and Camila are first cousins because their fathers were brothers.

In addition, Dona Daniel's wife was Gussy's first cousin, so a set of brothers married a set of cousins. But Gussy's cousin never had any children, that's why Don Daniel saw Cami as a daughter since she was his only relative (until he found out Dan might be his kid).

Gussy's 2nd husband was a jerk and a con man, who gave Gussy a kid (Ximena), but stole all her money, cheated on her, treated her badly, and ran off.

Foxy: You're right that Cami hasn't begun to suffer the way most telenovela heroines must. (Altho' being married to the likes of Lonnie hasn't been exactly a picnic!) Let's hope the writers are creative on that score as they have been with most of the story line this far.

@Sue455: Thanks for setting me straight. Apparently, my command of Spanish is just enough to get me into trouble!

This TN is very interesting. I wonder if Daniel will play along with the bad guys for a while.

Aleta

Vivi/Urban A: Thanks for the family tree review. Haven't been able to keep it straight at all!
===========
Karen: ITA that Rafa's big mouth will get Daniel into trouble repeatedly. Dunno how, but it'll be sort of fun to watch.

I would say being the driver of the car that killed the love of her life counts as suffering.

Loved your recap Jard.

Gussy is a jerk herself. She's easy prey for just such a man like her last husband.

We know nothing will come of her relationship with Dio because he plans to grab everything without marrying her.

I'm surprised Cami hasn't realized her mom is such a pushover and hasn't tried to wise her up.

Ann-NYC

ViviDC: You got me there! I guess I was thinking inside the box and this tn is not the usual fare, is it?

Thanks, Vivi for cluing me in about the opening credits. That's just what I wanted to know--that they aren't to be trusted, even though some of them are actual clips. Now I can sadly go back to my despair for the Padre.

I have to say, I think the writers and the actor who plays Leoncio are doing a superb job of illustrating the chaos an alcoholic creates. I'm wondering what he will do when he remembers the phone call from Bratgirl. He's so unpredictable. And isn't 3 million pesos a bit high for a hit job?

Did you all notice that Alonso is always biting his nails? I think that it is interesting that sometimes, he has conscientious objections, but then his evil mama pulls him back down into the dirt. Maybe there will be a point later where he will defy his mama and come to his senses. It seems like he is wrestling with his own personality and feelings. It's like he feels that he had the potential to be an ok guy, but he doesn't know how to deal with his issues, he is always trying to please his mama, and his insecurities end up spewing chaos.

JaneS, that is a bit high for a contract murder; it translated yesterday to $235M US. My gut tells me, though, that Isssadora probably never expected to have to pay it out.

Or she was about as desperate as it gets. Leoncio would have settled for half a million pesos, an amount he would probably never see in his lifetime.

Netgirl, I always note when Komodo Jr bites his claws. He is massively insecure and (prediction, no spoiler) that won't get any better. I don't think he has any potential for redemption because I believe he has been embezzling from the estate for some time.

Jardinera: "Viviana is quick on her feet also, but sometimes a bit too opinionated and assertive, aka, in your face. "

I thought I was the only one who thought that.

This is the first TN I've seen with CdlF. He's not grabbing me. Don't know if it's his acting, the direction he's getting. Maybe it's because his character has to fly below the radar so he has to be subdued, but he's really blah to me as a hero.

Vivi and UA--Thanks for setting me straight on the family tree. I was concentrating on the the female line, forgetting about the male line. OK, I now agree--Dan and Cam will have to sort out their feelings and whether being first cousins trumps el corazon manda. Viviana and Rafael have vested interests in their being first cousins and off limits, or at least Rafael has the most to gain.

TravLady--A little more detalle on Cami's driving the night of the accident. Luis was drunk as a fish, true; Camila was insecure about driving on highways, true; but Luis was also getting amorous and distracting her, pulling her face towards him rather than letting her keep her eyes on the road. They were driftin over the line and it was too late when they saw the trailer coming at them.

First Cousins Marriage Facts here. It is not legally forbidden in Mexico although it would be socially incestuous in most cases.

Robey- I agree that CdlF is not the greatest actor in the world. But not many of our galan actors are. CdlF is extremely handsome and manly, and holds his own with the acting, IMO. Add that smile, and I'm in! It would almost be too much of a good thing if he were also a first rate actor! :) I also agree that his character is supposed to be flying under the radar observing people from the shadows. I kind of prefer that to all of our galans twho are constantly flying off the handle, having fist fights, and yelling at people-- all the while showing us their "acting" skills.

Jardinera - Thanks. Especially enjoyed the play by play on the scenes between Dionisio and Isadora and Dionisio and Alonso.

Wow, now Amanda knows Andres is Daniel. Secrets don't last long on this show.

The secret I want to see revealed is whether Alonso had a sex life before. Seems like if he'd had success with someone before, he'd look her up now.

I'm betting Alonssso has never been successful in that area. I can't wait for that fact to come to light.

UA-I believe you have the currency exchange reversed. 3 mill pesos is about $235,000 dollars.

Thanks to all of you, as always, for taking time to read and comment!!
We recappers would be nowhere without you opining for good or for bad, je-je!

In the ad business the M=1000; I should have used the K instead.

Robey: This has not bee his best role/direction. Or, maybe things will change once he gets involved with Cami.
