Por ella soy eva #43 9/14/12- Eva Gets A Promotion, Some of Silvia's Past Comes To Light,,The Putz Gets A Comeuppance
I always get the numbers in Spanish mixed up so please comment on the amount of the shares.
We start tonight with Marcela and Fernando in their office, and Marcela is going over some bills. She wants Ferni to pay the lights, the mortgage and a couple other bills and hands him Kevin's cell phone bill. Lots of calls and numbers. He takes the majority of the bills, not happy about it either and hands the cell phone bill back to Marcela and tells her to handle it, handle it. Marcela looks at the phone bill and doesn't recognize some of the numbers. She calls the number and gets the guy that Kevin was with yesterday, the guy answers, and Marcela hangs up. She looks very concerned.
Pluti and Rebeca walk down the hall, and Rebeca wants to know why he's there already, wasn't he taking time off? He says he is there for the reading of La Gorda's will, (Note to Pluti- Hope the anvil hits you where it hurts the most, jus' sayin'). Anyhoo, they pass by the desk of the Evelettes who are gossiping with other women at G.I., like Tablet Jeffe said, noone works!
Eva is in Helena's office and making some racket with the files, banging them on the table. She isn't singing and yelling at Helena today. She is giving Helena the silent treatment as far as her voice goes, but is banging things around. Eva bangs some files on Helena's desk and the Eiffel Tower too, lol. Helena can't stand the silent treatment and says sorry about throwing you out, but I think Helena says she has to be out by tomorrow, first thing. "Don Pluti" comes in to see Helena. Eva kinda listens over Pluti's shoulder and Cindy one of the Evalettes comes in and says that Eva will have to be at the reading of the will of Antonia. Well, Pluti is having a problem with that. Eva goes and then Pluti too.
Eva runs into Mimi and tells her, oh boy, the jig is up. Antonia probably left a letter with the attorney that says I am really Juan Carlos! Mimi is trying to calm Juan down. Mimi makes Eva inhale and exhale to calm down. Eva also tells Mimi the attorney is his Papa, Modesto. Eva is very, very on edge. Mimi continues with the breathing excerises with Eva.
Helena and Lucia at the hospital. They have come to find out what happened to Silvia all those years ago. The doctor comes out with the file and explains what happened to Silvia. She had injuries from factures and bruises and had a miscarriage. Helena is stunned.
Now we are at the reading of the will. Adriano and Modesto are at the head of the table, next to them is Pluti and then Eva is at the end. Modesto starts the reading, but Pluti interrupts and says he only wants the parts that concern Adri and him, never mind Eva. Well, Modesto says that Antonia made a DVD about the will and all three are to see it. Modesto hands the DVD to Adri who puts it into his computer, so they can all three see it. Modesto says it is totally legal and Pluti isn't likin' it. The DVD starts and it's the lovely Antonia and she greets all three of them. Her great brother Adri, her loving husband (NOT) Plutarco, she even does the kissy thing and her best friend in all the world Eva. Antonia says on the DVD these three are the most important people in her life. It's sad, really, she speaks mainly to Eva, thanking her for getting her self esteem back, putting her back on the right path, while ole Pluti is rolling those eyes, I wish they were stuck that way. What did Antonia leave them you say? We'll get back to that in a minute.
Meanwhile, Helena has gone home to talk to her Mama Silvia. She wants to know what happened all those years ago, and she won't let Silvia back out. She confronts her mother and says, you lost a child at your 5th month of pregnancy. Did you have a miscarriage and was it my Papa's fault? Silvia doesn't answer, but the tears are rolling down her face.
We leave that scene and it's back to G.I. where the Evalettes, Ferni and Rebeca, and Santi are trying to hear thru the door what the hay is going on with the reading of the will. Marcela sneaks around the corner and claps her hands, startling all of them. She wants them to get back to work and stop listening on this private meeting. Rebeca and Ferni mouth back at her, they wanna know! Marcela tries to pull Ferni out of there, but he's like hell no I won't go! She keeps trying to convince them and then Santi pipes up to listen to her Flaco and Marcela goes.
Back to the reading of the will. Antonia says she is of sound mind and body and freely makes this will. Pluti is listening intently here and I bet he's thinking, "I'm in the Money, I'm in the Money". Antonia continues and says she is leaving Adri their Mama's jewels and her hope is that he will give them to a future wife, she wants him to find a wife. Adri is smiling. Antonia says next her house and country house, her ojects d'art and all her worldly goods go to her hubby Plutarco, she loves him very much and lots of kissy faces. Now to her stocks with G.I., Pluti is like say what, I guess he was under the impression HE was getting all those. Well, Antonia continues and says she is leaving twenty of those shares to Pluti and twenty shares of the stock to the best woman in all the world who helped her sooo much. Eva! Eva has been crying this whole time, and I love what she says next, Que, Que What???? Pluti is too flabbergasted to speak, and Adri kinda laughs. Commercial!
Back to the reading of the will. Antonia wants all three to get along, she gives them many hugs and kisses and loves them all. She sends them all kisses on the DVD and that's the end. Pluti is having a cow. Modesto says there is a letter of authenticity stating that Antonia, in fact, made this will. Eva says she can't understand why Antonia left those shares to her, and Andri tells her it was because she was very important to Antonia. Now Pluti is piping up, pithed as all get out. Adri tells him to shut it, cause this is what Antonia wanted. Pluti is all pithed and tells Modesto he should be getting those shares and a letter and DVD are not worth a hill of beans. Modesto sets him straight and says, sorry bonehead, not really but you get the drift, it IS completely legal. She was of sound mind and body when she made the will. Modesto then turns to Eva and says he needs some I.D. from her to continue the paperwork for the inheritance from Antonia. He needs a picture I.D., like say a passport, an offical document. Eva say si Papa, and then backpedals and glosses over it, and Modesto doesn't have a clue. Eva says she'll get the I.D. Pluti is lookin' out the window, the blinds are down, so how can he see? He is trying hard to control his anger.
Back to Helena and Silvia. Silvia won't go into what happened, and Helena assumes it is her papa's fault. Helena is pithed at her Papa and she has had enough. Helena will never respect him again. Silvia tells her don't be like that, think about it. Helena has finally put her foot down and says I've had enough of the Bastardo and his withholding my son from me and his blackmail; no more. Silvia is telling her to really think about it. Helena says she'll never forgive him. Silvia tells Helena there are reasons she won't talk about what happened and Helena is concerned for Silvia, but not for Bastardo. Then Bastardo is yelling for Silvia. I guess she has to fix something to eat for Bastardo and Silvia wants Helena to go, so she calms down and thinks before she speaks. Silvia goes and Helena bangs her arms on the sofa.
Back to the conference room and Eva tells Modesto she'll be bringing proof of who she is. Adri walks Modesto out and this leaves are Putzy Pluti with Eva. He wants to know what kind of trick Eva used to get Antonia to leave her shares to Eva. Then Pluti stalks off. Eva gets on the phone and calls Mimi. She wants a meet with Mimi but not at G.I.
Modesto and Adri in the hall. They are talking about Eva being a partner in Grupo Impero. Wow! From assistant to a partner. Well Ferni has overheard. He goes and tells Marcela at the Evelettes' desk. Marcela is impressed.
Meanwhile, Putzy Pluti is back in his office, choking the pic of Antonia that is in his office speaking to Rebeca. She can't beleive Eva got Antonia's shares either. I think Rebeca suggested to Putzy Pluti to schmooze with Eva. The Putzy Pluti is just worried about Antonia's thesis. I think I missed something else here, please fill in.
Bastardo is in his room and Lalito and Helena come in. Lalito gives him a kiss and Bastardo tells him he is much better. Lalito goes and Helena tells Bastardo she wants Lalito to come to her apartment tomorrow. He is acting reasonable in a way, and has no threatening anything going today. He just asks Helena you wanna take him now, while I'm so sick. She says she wants Lalito to be with her at her apartment where it's calm and she WILL NOT put up with his blackmail anymore. She says all this calmly without raising her voice. She goes. He stares after her like ruh, roh the jig is up!
Marcela and Ferni are having lunch in the office and Marcela tells Ferni bout the phone number , she didn't recognize and called it. Ferni is pithed. See you shouldn't have gotten him that cell phone he says. He is almost spitting food at Marcela cause his mouth is full. I think Marcela says the guy is a teacher, that she called. Ferni calms down immediately. Now he wants a kiss, Marcela makes faces at him!
Juan still dressed as Eva is talking to Mimi. He is upset cause how is he gonna inherit these shares from Antonia when Eva doesn't exist? Mimi says, shut your mouth, Eva does exist and she's my cousin. Now he doesn't want to accept the shares, cause he needs these legal documents for proof of identity. Mimi says you should accept those shares and you could find out who really defrauded G.I. and don't worry about the papers, I'll get them for you.
Marcela is talking to the Evalettes and they are glad that Eva will be taking Antonia's place, and they all cross themselves, and Ferni comes by and starts to cluck like a hen, and I think he says he is sorry he broke up this hen party. Marcela is joking about presidents of Brasil and so forth and the punch line was the Prime Minister of England, Eva hears the end, and says he's stupid, it was too funny. He says no he's not, something about the ladies, but before all that he looked like he was going to kiss Eva's hand, lol. The Evalettes flatter Eva, who is very suspicious, and then here comes Rebeca and now she starts schmoozing Eva with let's go to the Spa, massages, and other stuff and Marcela is rolling her eyes, and Eva is looking her up and down, lol.
Eva goes to Helena's office and is talking to Helena who she thinks is there, but it's Putzy Pluti who wants to know why in the world his wife would leave those shares to Eva, and Eva tells him we could ask her, but unfortunatly she is no longer with us. Eva tells him maybe she was suspicious you had a lover, and that's why she left the shares to me, Putzy Pluti gets all irate about that and says it's a lie. He'll make sure she doesn't succeed in her coup d' etat. Remember his words well. Eva makes faces at him.
Helena and Eva are in Helena's office watching the last will and testament of Antonia. Helena says to Eva that Antonia was very generous to you. Eva tells Helena she doesn't know if she should accept the shares. Helena encourages her to do so. She reminds Eva of the machismo at the office before Antonia came there. Eva remembers, cause he as Juan was pretty macho. Helena tells Eva they need a good woman, who is a boss at this company. She would do well to accept, especially for the women of the company. Helena tells Eva ultimately it is up to her, but really think hard about accepting, and please do. Eva promises to think about it. Helena tells her about bringing Lalito to the apartment and Eva is happy about that news and says this calls for a hug, doncha think? Well they hug and Eva is hugging her so hard , I'm surprised she can still breathe. Eva has a very contented look on her face. In other words Eva's Juan side is showing.
Onesimo and Putzy Pluti is in his office. Now remember when the Putz asked Onesimo to investigate Eva's resume? Well, in front of the Putz, Onesimo is calling the companies listed on that resume. Onesimo is finding out that Eva didn't work there and the Putz is constantly interrupting him. Onesimo says, can't you tell I'm working, while the Putz is giving him the stink eye. So now Putzy Pluti knows that Eva didn't work at these companies.
Helena comes back to her office and finds what looks like an orchid on the table in her office. Lucia comes in talking about Renato. Helena is losing patience with her friend and tells her to get back to work. Lucia doesn't like it but she goes. I noticed one thing tonight, on the show. All the clerical staff, that would be the Evalettes included, wear that lite blue dress as a uniform. Putzy Pluti comes into to Helena's office and says the flower is in thanks for what she did last night, by listening to him talk. He says Antonia was the only woman for him, yeah right, and by the way did Helena ever have a grand love? She says she did. Not who, but that she did.
Mimi is at her pension and is on her Blackberry and yelling for Christian, her nephew, to look after the place. Onesimo comes in, pretending to be interested in a room, Mimi tells him it's a great place and they are very discreet here. What is up with Onesmio's tie? Was it made for the Jolly Green Giant, or something? Jus' sayin'. Mimi tells him to wait there while she gets Christan to give Onesimo a tour. Onesimo looks around and bolts for the stairs. There is a lady coming out of one of the rooms and Onesimo butters her up, and flatters the dickens out of her and also where is Eva's room. The lady points it out and she goes. Onesimo tries the door which is locked, so he uses the credit card trick and gets the door to open. He can't see in there, but there are pictures of Juan as himself and stages of his transformation to Eva on the wall. Onesimo has just barely opened the door. He can't see the pictures.
Adri and Eva are meeting in Adri's office. They are talking about Antonia's will and Eva says she never expected what happened to happen with the shares. Adri says he thinks he knows why Antonia did it, cause Eva made her very happy. Eva says that Antonia loved Adri very much. Adri agrees he misses his sister something fierce and now feels all alone without her. Eva tells Adri he is so not alone. They all like him. Adri looks at her. Then, guess who comes barging into the office, anyone, wait for it, of course it's the Putz. He actually says he is sorry he interrupted, but Eva pays him no never mind. So Putzy Pluti spills the beans that Eva has given a false resume to Grupo Impero. Adri just looks at her, and Eva is very verklept.

I know TN characters can be incredibly dense at times (plot armor?). But if Pluto doesn't get a grip, I wonder if Adriano will get suspicious about Pluto's marriage.

B. The loss of his sister is a very fresh wound, and Pluto's disrespect for her last wish must be particularly disturbing to Adri right now.
C. Pluto's tantrum in the meeting was ugly. And the more he rants about the will, the more it should make Adri suspicious about where Pluto's priorities lie.

Thanks Paula, I went back and fixed it to miscarriage. I thought she might have had a therapuetic abortion because the fetus was no longer viable from the beating that Silvia got from the Bastardo. Hopefully Helena can now get full custody of Lalito after this revelation and thanks for the percentage of the stocks. So now Eva and Pluti are equal partners at G.I.

Paula I think you are right about Pluti. Adri should be ways suspicious after that outburst from him during the reading of the will and insisting on just the parts that pertained to him and Adri. And the way he went on and on about the shares. He really thought he was going to be some big shot and G.I.

She could own up to falsifying the resume because it is so hard for a widower of a certain age to get a break in business...... etc. etc.

Eva had to find one large enough to fit her when she first came on as Helena's assistant. Marsela was told by Adriano to go buy new clothes befitting her new station as an exec and to stop wearing herblue uniform. It seems to be another example of the company machismo ethic -- a way of denoting status. Maybe Eva will rescind the policy when she becomes a partner.

Excellent recap, Madelaine. That was the kind of show that made me jealous not to be the one to be recapping. I love Eva's faces in her interactions with the villains, Pluto and Rebeca. When Rebeca fawned all over Eva now that she's part owner, Eva's response was to give her the up down. And when Pluto threatened that he'll unmask what Eva's hiding, she actually hissed at him!
I loved the scene with the recording of Antonia: Adriano smiling in fond memories of his sister, Pluto rolling his eyes and looking smug because he thinks he's getting what he's always wanted, and Eva looking wistful and crying because she misses her friend. I do hope Antonia comes back to give advice and haunt Pluto from the grave.
I don't think Bastardo caused the miscarriage. Actually, Madelaine, Silvia never said that it was his fault but rather that was all Helena guessing at what happened. Helena said they told her there were fracturas and golpes, but besides hit or strike, golpe can mean bruise. I thought Silvia's silence on the subject indicates there's a lot more to the story. And either she's a total doormat, which doesn't quite ring true, or the fault is actually hers or maybe even Helena's. Like maybe as a young girl Helena left a toy on the stairs and Silvia tripped over it. It would account for Bastardo's mistreatment of them both. Account for, not justify. He's still an ass.

Oh yeah, and I liked Pluto's look of horror as Rebeca suggests that he seduce Eva since he's so good at handling freaks.
Ithabill, I was thinking the same thing -- that maybe Helena accidentally caused the fall & that would explain Eduardo's hatred of her. BUT.... we first got a hint of this storyline a few days ago when Eduardo called Lalito mi hijo and Silvia reminded him that Lalito is his GRANDson. That day she looked Eduardo in the eye and said something about how he hadn't always felt that strongly about a son. That led me to think that it was Eduardo who had done something to an earlier son.

Ithabill, I fixed the recap to reflect the golpes. I am sure you will get a good epi with lots of stuff like last night. They don't always have good storylines on a Friday. I too liked the fact that Antonia made a DVD for her will. It was like she was in the room again, and I too hope Antonia haunts Pluti from the grave. It so serves him right.
Guera- I so agree with all your comments and the one about the uniforms. I really noticed it last night when I was watching. The little worker bees, that would be the Evalettes included all wear those little lite blue uniforms. I hope that changes and they can wear their own clothes.

Madelaine, thanks for the weekend recap, as always, it was terrific.
I just knew that Eva would get the shares, I was just surprised that she didn't get the full 40%. There was no other way to extend this TN for another 100 or so episodes without some sort of major conflict. The other is that they always made such a big deal about the shares. I like the 20% much better, I must say. The Putz was about to blow a gasket during the reading of the Will.
I really hate the weekend cliff hangers, i.e., Onesmio breaking into Mimi apartment. Just tell us already.

The DVD of her will could reflect actual legal practice. There have been TV episodes in the US where lawyers made a point of doing this with elderly clients to prove that they are of sound mind at the time of making out their wills. I think this makes tons of sense.
As for the story of Silvia's miscarriage/abortion, I am remembering what happened in Mi Pecado that fueled a deeper level of hatred that Rosario felt for Lucrezia. Lucrezia had her brother's religious medallion and Rosario tried to force her to give it up. She wouldn't, Rosario chased her and ended up slipping and falling part way down the stairs. Her baby died in utero and she blamed Lucrezia for this. I can see a similar scenario in this family's case, but with Eduardo actually being responsible.
If I were writing this I would say that he was looking to spank or otherwise hit Helena for some childish action. Silvia stepped in to defend her and ended up being on the receiving end of greater violence. Which Helena doesn't remember because she would have been sent to her room first.

Rosemary Primera- I agree with you about those cliffhangers, but I kinda like them, it makes me want to know more. :) I think you are right about those blue uniforms. I really hope they get rid of them.

Camil has truly studied the mannerisms of a woman, the sleeping on the couch was classic.

I don't get Sylvia. If it was an accident, why not tell Helena? If little Helena triggered the accident, no need to add that detail. If Bastardo Eduardo didn't trigger it, she shouldn't let Helena think worse of him than she already does.

Julia...good one! Has it been mentioned as a Miss Piggy voice before? Drives me nuts. Find myself wanting to fforward through those scenes, even tho' Jaime Camil is a favorite.
Querida Judy, someone suggested Miss Piggy when Eva was whacking someone (Pluto?) with her handbag and yelling at him indignantly. It was a perfect match!
