Por ella soy Eva #41 9/12/12 -Repost of Tablet Jefa's Wed. Recap.

There was some sort of technical difficulty with Tablet Jefa's recap of Wednesday's show. I have recreated it here, so people can read it and have a place to post in the morning.

The Paola Anvil Drops! You can teach an old dog a new trick.
Mimi’s house- Eva is ranting about Helena going to see Pluto because he is depressed. He is using Antonia’s death to get closer to Helena. Its pure theatrics!
Paola meets Adriano at one her dad’s favorite restaurant and she is complaining, you are not afraid that we won’t get caught? Adriano has no fears, they are together. Paola is turned off because he is too intense. (If I wasn’t translating this scene I would have fast-forwarded it-My eyes are hurting from the constant eye rolling in this scene) Adriano asks Paola to marry him? Which requires a yes or no answer. Paola looked like he asked her to define the Pythagorean theorem.
GI- Eva is addressing the company, (because as usual no one is working)- we are humans, we are united, and I want to ask you something. An impatient Fernando demands to know what?
Back to the restaurant- Paola is still figuring out what to say. Even Adriano tells her that it’s a yes or no answer. Paola tells him that he is the best, etc. etc but…
Adriano gives her more time to decide. He will even speak to her dad. (Is he crazy?) If anyone talks to her dad it will be her. She’ll think about it.
Pluto’s house- (Again, I felt like fast forwarding while, listening to Pluto’s babble about how Antonia didn’t love him equally. In a sense he is right, she loved him unconditionally and it wasn’t mutual.) Pluto had evidence that Antonia had a lover- he found his card in her things- Samuel De La Cavada- her college boyfriend. (When Pluto’s anvil drops –I hope that it’s my night to translate) He asked Helena not to tell anyone. Ooh, she doesn’t know what a calming effect her presence has on him. (Bull, cried the queen) (Yuck) Then he gives her a pervert hug. Here comes Eva and the Grupo Imperio cavalry, they have come to support him and cheer him on with a real rah rah rah!
Eugenia and Modesto’s house- as they are having their tea and coffee-Eugenia tells Modesto that she would have gone to the funeral but Modesto felt that it would have been too much for her, being so close to JC’s death. She can’t convince Modesto that JC is not dead. She quotes a saying about dreams from Shakespeare’s – The Tempest. Modesto gives her a gift. A cell phone- JC can call her, she can make calls, etc. She lets him know that she is going to return to acting.
Rebeca has another jealousy tantrum. She wants to know why Helena was there and why didn’t he just slam the door in her face. He is such a gentleman. Rebeca will be his next wife not Helena. (What is wrong with Rebeca? If he cheated with you, he will cheat on you- this is basic – Relationship 101) He tells Rebeca not to make a storm out of a glass of water. Rebeca warns him! When I’m good, I’m very good, but when I’m bad – watch out!
The blue dresses are impressed with the house and all of the luxurious things.
Fernando mentions that now Pluto will inherit Antonia's shares in the company. And he will be out of control. Marsela reminds Fernando to show respect. The other stooge, Santiago agrees with Fernando. Fernando was making jokes about not planning to die now( and I was ready to fast forward once again.) Santiago said that with Pluto in charge it would be party time at GI. Isn’t it party time now? No one works.
Eva tells Helena that she is such a good person for supporting Pluto, not letting him suffer alone. Helena tells her to remember when her husband died and to watch what her ugly, indirect comments. Eva has everyone gather around to correct herself.
At GI- Lucia is looking for Mauricio who went on vacation and is not due back soon. In the hallway, Lucia bumps into a real cutie who is going to interview for a job there. She is willing to give him a tour of the company and he introduces himself Renato Camaro. And once again she is in love.
Eva talks about her best friend and how everyone is there to support Pluto. Antonia’s last wish is that Pluto should mourn her and be faithful. Just like how she mourns for her husband and remains faithful. Both Pluto and Rebeca were very uncomfortable at the mention of the word faithful.
Rebeca wants to say a few words, because she too loved Antonia. (At that point, I thought it would start thundering indoors) They shared an office and so many other things (how disrespectful!!!!!- I wanted to jump into the TV and slap her)
Rebeca said that Antonia’s last wish was for her husband to be happy. (yeah in hell!) Yes, in the event that a good woman is near, maybe he will remarry as he looks at Helena and Rebeca cuts her eyes. Eva tells Pluto- to honor her friend-by being loyal and honest. Rebeca and Eva argue over whether he should remarry and Helena shuts everyone down and says that Pluto needs to rest. Eva lets Pluto know that she is watching him.
At Adriano’s house- he returns with Paola and Adriano is trying to be serious and let Paola know that he would like to be with her 24/7. After the restaurant question, he didn’t think that he would see her tonight. Paola doesn’t want to be pressured. He tells her not to be so childish. Paola told him that he was a little too intense. (Hello, Paola, he just lost his sister. Estupida)
Pluto's house- Rebeca is ready to move in and Pluto tells her not so fast. They were playing Ali Baba and the 40 thieves?? The doorbell rings- and Pluto goes to answer it and tells Rebeca (Snow White) to stay put. Rebeca tells Pluto to ask the maid to bring them something to eat, but the maid has the weekend off. No one is to see Rebeca there. She wants her waffles with syrup and Pluto tells her to make some for both of them. She is Snow White not Cinderella. In other words she doesn’t cook. (She’s more like the Evil stepmother to me) She tells him to hurry back, so that they can take yet another bath.)
Adriano tries to call Paola but she ignores the call. Jesus comes in to tell Paola that he is going out and why doesn’t she answer her phone. She wasn’t bought up that way. Oh dad, you are too intense, and I’m not in the mood. If you want to argue go and argue with one of your little chippies. Paola leaves the room and the phone rings again. Dad sees that its from Adriano and listens to the message. (I guess that there is no such thing as passwords on their phones) Dad is impactado and furious!!
Adriano asks how Pluto is? Adriano also can’t sleep, he still can’t believe it. Antonia was young and full of life. They only have each other now. Antonia was right, he needs to settle down and not die alone. Pluto just can’t bear to be separated from his wife’s ashes. (And the Oscar goes to??) Adriano goes to work and Rebeca wants to stay and bathe with Pluto. Pluto insists that she go to work so that no one gets suspicious. Rebeca makes fun and insults Antonia’s picture. (If I could only teleport myself into the TV)
Paola returns from her shower and notes that Jesus (her dad) heard her telephone message.
At GI- Adriano is at a meeting discussing the Mayagua Beach project will be in memory of his sister. And a furious Jesus arrives at GI and insists that he wants to see Adriano. (I’m guessing that GI does not have any security) Jesus is yelling Adriano’s name! Adriano walks down the hall and when he sees Jesus, everything goes into slow motion. Every blue dress and other employees from GI are there!! Everyone is impactado. (No one has the good sense to call 911, security, somebody? Que the heck? Does anyone work??) A crazed Jesus points a gun at Adriano!! We break for commercials.
Adriano tells Jesus to give him the gun. Jesus is upset because Adriano is sleeping with his 20-year-old daughter. Adriano tells his “friend” that his intentions are sincere and that Paola is 25. No, Jesus (her dad) corrects him. He doesn’t have any respect. Jesus- says that he doesn’t deserve to live. Adriano says that he loves Paola. Eva tells him to shoot the gun.
Silvia and Eduardo-Eduardo insults Silva yet once again and tries to deter her from studying, she is too old, blah, blah, blah. (I can’t listen to his babble anymore) Silvia is excited about finishing her studies and getting a job. Fernando, oops, Eduardo tells Silvia that she has to take care of him. (For a convalescing patient, he is pretty strong. He looks like he can take care of himself) Silvia tells Eduardo that he is using his condition to blackmail Helena and keep Lalito. His coffee is cold, he demands hot coffee.
Helena asks Jesus to give up the gun. He doesn’t. (Oh thank God for Eva, she gives them both a taste of their own medicine)- what a hypocrite you are, don’t you sleep with young girls? You do the same thing; your daughter is 20 and you bragged about having an 18-year old- what’s the difference? You dispose of the women that you have for a “newer” one. The women, oh no the girls that you make fun of, surround yourselves with, etc. etc. What the young girls that you are with are they orphans? They don’t have parents? We are sick of you old dogs, thinking that you are entitled to do what you want with young girls and treat us like objects. (Still no one has dialed-911) Then here comes Paola asking her father- what are you doing?? (Still no security, no one)
Jesus asks- if Paola feels anything for Adriano? Adriano tells Paola to please tell her dad that they have been together for moths, at first he didn’t know who her father was and that now they are in love and want to marry. Paola wouldn’t be caught dead marrying him. Paola only went out with him to teach her father a lesson. - to see how ridiculous you old dogs look with young girls! That he should forget about marrying someone young enough to be his daughter. Eva asked Paola to apologize to Adriano. He doesn’t have any respect. Helena told everyone to get back to work. Adriano asked Paola- if at any time did you love me? Never! (Talking about hitting below the belt)
Adriano asked for one last favor- Jesus to shoot him, because he is so ashamed. (Where’s Mimi when you need her? And still no security)
In Helena’s office- Helena scolded Eva for getting involved. She could have been killed. She was scared her. They felt sorry for Don Adriano. Helena- says that one day she may remarry, She is not ready just yet.
In the hallway- the two stooges sympathized with Adriano and Rebeca had the nerve to say something- they were talking behind Adriano’s back. Eva defends Adriano and dares anyone to say the contrary.
Adriano was in his office- he wanted solitude, but Eva came in and spoke to him. Adriano thought that Paola loved him. Hits in the heart hurt the most. Adriano remembered that Juan Carlos said that he was in love and everything that he did was for the love of a woman and he didn’t believe him. JC forgives him.
Adriano is going to give up on love and women, Eva told him that time will heal his wounds. Find someone not with your eyes but with your heart. He kissed the hand of an uncomfortable Eva.

Thank you for the recap, TJ. I loved your line, "She looked like he asked her to define the Pythagorean theorem."

What a spectacular episode tonight!!! IMHO it was the best episode so far. The Jesus/Adriano/Eva scene was downright operatic! The Eva/Adriano scene in his office - perfect choreography, perfect balance. And then the zinger at the end!

I liked Paola's subtle change in appearance at GI.

Tuesday's point of stupidity was the combination of oxygen tube and pillow suffocation. Tonight's point of stupidity was in the hallway. JL points the pistol at Adri, and all the people standing BEHIND Adri in the line of fire just stand there, transfixed. HIT THE DECK!!! All except Rebecca, immediately behind Adri, the most likely to catch a stray bullet. She can stay.

Lastly. Lucía's heart-throb of the week. I think his last role was as one of the marionettes in Thunderbirds, the 1960's Saturday morning TV series. He looks just like the Tracy brothers.

Thank you so much Tablet Jefa for this great recap, and Paula H for posting it. I loved the Pythagorean line too.

And I couldn’t believe all those people standing behind Adriano either, just squinting like somebody was going to pop a balloon instead of shoot right in their direction.

GREAT writing in this episode.

I saw something about a new time, but it was under the captions so I couldn’t read it all. Are they moving the show to another time slot?

I am sorry for the confusion, but for some reason I can not post correct
ly. I just started a new job and will have to review it later.
My apologies.

Thanks, Tablet J. I will post additional comments to the recap after I have a chance to read it over lunch, but for now I just wanted to add a HAHAHAHAHA high-five to Paula for the Thunderbirds comment. Too funny and too true!

3Thanks TJ for the recap. I loved your asides. Yes! Why did all of the employees stand right behind Adri as the gun was pointed at him? Kudos to Eva for placing her/himself in the line of fire & daring Jesus to shoot. Very brave but also dangerous as she/he proceeded to excoriate him & all old men who prey on nubile, barely legal young things. Jesus could have turned his anger from Adri to Eva.

I loved the showdown between Eva & Rebecca over how the widower should honor his dead wife -- and Helena's no nonsense way of shutting them down. That's at least twice in this episode where Helena was the only voice of reason.

Another hint of the Eduardo/ Silvia past -- when he calls Lalito his "hijo" and she references the past -- without telling us exactly what she is referring to. But Silvia seemed to get a moment of backbone -- before lying down in doormat mode again. I'm liking the slow way she is subtly changing. She'll be a force to be reckoned with when she grows the rest of that spine.

Oh- and the new guy at GI -- he's our favorite vegetable vendor and pink clad cougar stalker from CME. It's nice to see those eyes again -- not so sure about that hairdo.

Güera

TJ loved your recap, wonderful. I liked your little comments about does anyone work and where's security, lol.

Loved Eva this epi. She is very daring to stand in front of that gun and giving Jesus what for. And going to Don Pluti's house with the whole G.I. crew, too funny. I like the Don Pluti nickname. It freaked Eva out when Adri kissed her/his hand. What's Eva gonna do now if Adri is falling for her and not Mimi?

Oh, that Bastardo. Calling Lalito mi hijo. I think he really thinks of Laltio as his son and not his grandson and I am glad Silvia called him on it too. He treats her worse than a servant. I would have dumped that hot coffee on him and said oopsie, so sorry, had something in my eye. Hate the way he grumbles under his breath too.

Helena is the voice of reason here, but I hope Don Pluti doesn't buffalo her with his fake grief. He will use that to get closer to Helena.

I say we dub Lucía's latest heart-throb Scott Tracy (see the link). FAB!

How does this sound, for an analysis of Ed? He probably killed his son by voilence toward Silvia when she was pregnant. The guilt was too much to handle so he never faced up to that reality.

On top of that, you have projected survivor guilt toward Helena. She's the one who should've died, not my son. How dare she? She's clearly evil - it's her fault my son died.

When Lalo was born, Ed's brain flipped a switch: that's MY son. I didn't kill my son - he's right here! Ed Jr. That revised reality made the guilt and pain go away. Humans can buy into some very big lies to avoid unbearable pain.

So now, that evil one, Helena, wants to steal MY son away from me! Of course he pursues legal custody for his own son. Of course he rages, "Over my dead body!" Any parent would do that to keep his own child. Of course Helena can't take her "little brother" out for the day - she wouldn't protect him like I would as his parent.

What Ed is doing makes perfect sense if you start with the flawed initial premise that Lalo is his son.

Now that we know what Paola's motive was, what do you think? Do you hate her worse? Do you have a little compassion? Do you give her a medal for giving her dad what he deserves? Obviously the way she humiliated Adri in front of everyone was unforgivable. But what about her motivation for the "romance"?

And what about her change in appearance? She no longer looks like a cartoon character.

Tablet Jefa did post the recap, but it's not showing up in the feed because it doesn't have the por-ella tag. So a lot of people probably haven't seen it. Rosemary Primera and Urban Anthropologist have posted comments over there.

Now that I know what Paola's motive was, I can't say I hate her more or less because it turns out that she WAS up to no good. It was clear that she didn't do this out of kind intentions. It was more about humiliation and revenge.

I do have some compassion, but I would have more compassion if she had dealt with the problem in a different way and without dragging Adriano into it. It doesn't appear that she ever tried to talk to him about it before. Having an affair just to spite your dad is not only mean, but stupid.

And I especially hated the way she acted when his sister was dying. You have to have a pretty frosty heart to continue the charade through an ordeal like that.

Oh and I did not notice a change in Paola's appearance, but I can be really dense about such things. As long as the hair doesn't change much I probably won't notice anything.

ha, ha, ha. Thanks, TJ. That was a very funny recap, to match our show’s return to a mood of comedy. My favorites were that your eyes hurt from constant eye-rolling, naming Pluto’s pervert hug, asking doesn’t anyone work here at GI, and wanting to jump into the TV to slap Rebecca. (I’ve often myself wanted to jump into the television for varying offenses.) My favorite scenes were Eva and Rebecca escalating in their differing views on how Antonia would want the Putz to go on with his life, and Eva’s lecture to Jesus on his hypocrisy in being angry with Adriano. Oh, yeah, and Rebeca’s snipe to Eva, “Not another one of your lectures,” and Eva’s quip back about Rebeca dressing like a leopard.

I never much thought about Paola one way or the other. I don’t blame her for wanting to teach her father a lesson- Paula H called that one- but it was cruel to use Adriano in that way to do it. I don’t get how a person can be able to sleep with someone they’re not attracted to and make them think that they are. That’s too close to be able to do that much pretending. It sounds exhausting.

I am looking forward to Eva squirming under Adriano’s attention. I say that as long as we’re looking at stereotyped gender ideas, let’s look at them all.

Oh, yeah. My favorite part of the episode was Helena suggesting that everyone get back to work. Some people at GI might need more specific instructions because they never worked to begin with.

Does anyone else get the feeling that Renato Camaro (sounds like a sexy car) is bad news? Maybe it's just his resemblance to that Thunderbirds puppet, but something about him seems too good to be true. Perhaps he's a corporate spy (like GI doesn't haven't enough problems!).

Yes Julie, when I saw Scott Tracy I also thought corporate spy. Especially since Lucia offered to give him a tour of the company.

I'm sure Eva stepped in front of Adri as a human shield because he/she is the hero. But also because he has always been like a father to Juan. That made that scene, and the scene in Adri's office afterward, all the more touching.

Bill, as for Paola pulling off the charade. I adore Adriano, but he's such a dope. He proposed, chippie's face said "EWWW!!!" loud and clear, and Adri still didn't have a clue - he kept pressing for an answer. If he couldn't read that, I'm sure he couldn't read any other warning signs in their relationship.

I think Adriano has acted like a dope in general. He's been oblivious to a lot of things, not just with Paola, but also with his sister and with the business. (And with Pluto, but I don't blame him as much for that because Pluto is good at being sneaky.)

And he's still amazed every time a woman accomplishes something that isn't related to household chores, light clerical work, or sex. Hopefully, having that gun in his face will have inspired him to stop living in a fantasy world where everything is swell.

Ya know who Renato Camara reminds me of? Saul from LFDD. He doesn't have the stalker/rapist vibe Saul had, but he does look like a corporate spy. I think Helena needs to take Lucia in hand and stop her from always hooking up with the wrong guys.

Tablet Jefa - Thanks for a fun recap of some intense stuff. Enjoyed your commentary.

Paola is brutal. But then she's only 20 and doesn't see Adriano as a feeling human being, in the same way her dad doesn't see his young vessels as real people.

As usual, my favorite scenes belonged to Eva. Loved when she called Paola’s dad on his hypocrisy and needled Pluto to honor Antonia by giving up future women.

Good work on a wild episode.

Since Jesus was a client there was no reason to call security until he pulled out the pistol. I am still astonished that firearms are so easily obtained in Mexico.

As to why not call security at all, I doubt that anyone wants a public scandal and the loss of business that would ensue from that. This was all macho posturing with two naked emperors. JC/Eva saw that better than anyone else.

I love Otto Sirgo, but the idea of his character getting it on with an 18-year-old is beyond the pale.

Plutarco has no shame at all. I definitely want to see him pay and pay big for his treatment of Antonia. Of course I'm wondering whether Antonia died because the actress was tired of the fat jokes about her character because Antonia could have gotten some interesting revenge over the course of the series.

As for how someone can boink a person and pretend an attraction she doesn't feel.... we all know at least 4 Spanish words for what that is.

At first site of the gun I thought this is comedy?! until I saw Becca's position. Oooohhhhh PaulaH. I felt the same thing about Rebecca being in the direct line of fire. I feel so naughty.
Well I absolved myself and will go on to reading.

Thanks, TJ for the recap. Liked your zingers and your useful summary.

Way to go, Eva! Defend Adri and tell the old perverts the way it is! My favorite heartbreaking line is when Adri asked Jesus to shoot him because he couldn't bear the shame. That whole episode was (quoting Paola)intense.
Eager to see how things go tonight!
La Paloma

Great recap TJ! I didn't see the epi, so this was very helpful. Hopefully, this weekend I'll get a chance to watch.

I am watching tonights episode at the moment and see one of my favorite long-lashed actors Ferdinando Valencia--sweet toy boy Chema in CME; bad boy German in en Nombre del Amor, and Madelaine, yes it IS Saul from LFDD. Here he is much more air brushed and made to be a pretty boy.

Thanks Vivi, I just knew it was him, it was his eyelashes you see, lol. He has the prettiest eyelashes on a guy I have ever seen. The only thing that threw me was the hair. In LFDD he had sort of a crew cut. This guy is too pretty, what a hunk hubba, habba. Lol.

Mads- No matter how they change his "luke", you can't hide those beautiful eyelashes. He was also a tough guy with a tender heart in Dinero named Rizos (Curls).

Vivi, lol, I do remember him from Dinero, lol. I couldn't figure out it was him there either. He plays Jaime's cousin that chased Vicky's bros away, that was too funny, lol. I have been watching Dinero in late night. The finale is this coming Friday. I will miss it.
