Amorcito Corazón Discussion #124-128 Oct. 8-12

Okay, I'll start: why don't they just rename this telenovela "Choking On Nuts" and be done with it?

Also, why are they making Marisol look like a Vulcan? It's creeping me out.

Blue Lass,

You must admit that it was fun to see Horny lose her money and jewelry to the boy toy. I wish Beba would have been there to see it. I am sure Horny will never tell anyone what really happened.

It has also been fun to see the beginnings of the fortune teller's pronouncements come true.

Rosemary Primera

Yes, the fortune-teller was fun! Do you think she really stole Jorge's wallet? (And why can't a rich guy afford a better car?)

I have been watching this one from time to time and have gotten most of it, but does Fernando really have cancer, or did, is her name Doris, make him think he does, just to hang on to him?

Manuela told Fer he has cancer, but he doesn't. He's just sick from the kooky herbs she's been feeding him, presumably to make him dependent on her.

What a great episode! FOUR of our baddies suffered some misfortune! Hooray. About time. Yes, "Choking on Nuts" would have been a perfect title.

Hahahaha. I gagged when the scene opened to Horny and her plaything, but it was worth it when he stole her wallet and old-lady jewels. Skanky whoreboy, I heartily approve of you.

Of course Jorrible's car had to die. It's an Audi. Renault is the sponsor. Too bad it didn't go over a cliff while he was in it.

Why oh why can't Marisostupid dump Knuckles? Who cares if his dad's dying, if he's just using the situation to manipulate her. Let his thug friends comfort him. Knuckles...Juancho...Knuckles...Juancho... seems like an easy enough choice.

Thanks Blue Lass- I missed the epi's where she was feeding him herbs. My favorite scenes are with Willy and the nun. And their rap outside the convent, too funny. Willy sure can sing. The actor that plays Willy should do comedy alot. He is great.

Daniel Arenas is a scream. I particularly love his gym scenes. He always seems so happy there.

Blue Lass thanks so much for posting this!! I look forward to watching the epi later today.

from the avances, looks like Infielipe is busted at last. Ojala.

Infielipe...PERFECT!

Zoe, please dump his whiny childish cabooose ASAP and put Cecilio out of his misery...

Haven't had a chance to watch today's epi yet, but I was also pleased to see the witch's predictions start coming true right away. It even expanded to Horny, and she wasn't even there to hear the curse! Please, let Mani and Jorrible continue to have bad luck.

Why hasn't Fernando's doc felt the need to talk ot Fer personally and tell him he's being poisoned? What kind of treatment does he or the people at the clinic think he's going to be getting for his cancer? Does this make any sense, or am I missing something here?

I felt bad for a half second when Knuckles started manipulating Marisol and making her feel bad, but then I remembered what a little snot she has been on many occasions, and I felt fine about her getting some pay back.

I think the clinic is supposed to just be helping while Fer waits for the test results to get a diagnosis. Like, he's supposed to be removed from his usual stress and rest up and get proper nutrition and have medical staff there in case he has any episodes. They aren't trying to cure him of anything yet because they haven't confirmed what he has, they're just trying to keep him from getting worse, boosting his immune system, etc. Although since Mani told Fer's regular doc, I agree he should be talking to Fer about it.

JAJAJA -- Infielipe! You are too much.

So how much longer are we going to have to put up with that jerk? Zoe needs to give him the boot PERO YA.

Does anyone know what number of episode we are on now?

And what the heck is wrong with Infielipe and all the cheating? He just got his wife back and he's already cheating again? Geez, what a jerk!

Last week was #119-#123 so this week should be #124-#128

Thanks for the clarification Julia on the purpose of the clinic/spa. I was glad to see the Doc finally talk to Fer, but he didn't push hard enough in saying that he CLEARLY told Mani he didn't have cancer and was poisoned. How can he think someone could misinterpret that? Whatever.

Glad to see Jorrible's luck continue to be bad. Wish Isa would have let the cops drag him away.

Infielipe is perfect! I was almost ready to give him a pass on Sabrina, since she was so persistent and evil, and they slept together when he and Zoe were having troubles and separated. The fact that she is pregnant with his child is the only reason I was hoping they could recover from that and make it work. But now, there is no redemption. Zoe needs to be done with him and move on to Cecilio, the loyal. I'm sure Cecilio will be a way better father figure for her child anyway. Infielipe can be the fun uncle.

The actress playing the seductress, is currently playing a nice (if a bit dim) character in Refufio-- Valentina.

That's Refugio. :)

I am loving Jorrible's string of bad luck. Too bad Isa didn't let the cops haul him off, though. But now his business is going bad as well! Hee hee.

I wish Doris's fake pregnancy would end one way or another soon. That plotline has gone on long enough. I did not like Lucia's response to Mayela's comment about adoption. Some women really don't want children and would be terrible mothers, and I think Mayela is one of those. Why try to force them to keep their children if someone will adopt them? I didn't care for the anti-adoption message.

Zoe trying to talk herself into trusting Infielipe while he was snoozling another woman was just sad. She needs to leave for good.

One of my favorite parts was when Horny was all depressed and lying in bed, and Manwitch thought she was depressed because she's so old. "Cheer up, you don't need to be sad just because you're a dried-up old stick and you'll die soon!" or something to that effect. Heh.

Ha ha! And then she said, "Let me get you one of my pills" -- while thought-bubbling, "Or two -- coz if I knock you out, I won't have to listen to you anymore." What a charming family.

So Isa now knows what town Fer is in, and if she pays attention she'll probably figure out the company doesn't have any projects there. Shouldn't she start to wonder why Fer is staying there, away from his daughters, when it's close enough that Manwitch is commuting back and forth to see him?

Lo del Miércoles:

Doc told Fer he's being poisoned but he can go home and go about his life while taking the medicine. It will be a slow recovery. Mani tried to convince him that Isa (and maybe also her mom) was the one poisoning him, after he rejected the idea of Minerva doing it. He doesn't believe that, either. He say EVERYONE is a suspect, including Manuela. Obvio, she was very hurt and offended that he would suggest such a thing. Anyhoo, his family is thrilled to have him back, although Doris is not happy that he won't realize Mani is out to get him.

Mani gave Horny a big dose of sleeping pills.

Infielipe showed up with his item of the week at the same restaurant where Isa and Zoe were eating. He crashed into a waiter but his date managed to slip away without the ladies realizing he was with anyone.

ReIcky has been lurking around the casa hogar to find out about Mayela. He chatted up Adelita to get the rundown. Willy G and the dudes saw them and chased him off and tried to warn Adelita about him.

Adelita gave Willy G a pillow she made for him. At first he thought it was a gift ReIcky had given her and he was really rude about it. Then after she told him she made it for him, he felt terrible. He got her some stuffed animal or something as an apology gift. Lucia ran into him on his way to deliver it, and between that and Ade's swoony talk of Willy G, she still thinks Willy is flirting with Ade and of course Lucia is furious.

Lucia vented to Isa and Zoe and they said she is jealous because of course she loves Willy. Zoe dragged them all to a fortune teller, who said a bunch of stuff we already know.

Wow - this show has been pretty exciting this week! A lot happens every episode. Now I can't wait till tomorrow. In the previews I didn't quite get what Manuela said to Isabella when Isabella picked up the phone. Was Isabella calling the police on Manuela?

Julia thank so much for your Wednesday recap. We've had so many weeks without rIcky I'm sad he's back. Also sad that Fer still has not gotten his brain back.

What is up w/F5? Come clean and return to your playboy ways.

Lo del jueves:

Sarita brought a rice pudding upstairs for the girls. Fer wanted to try it, but Manwitch accused Sarita of poisoning him. SLAP! Sarita called Isa, who came over and was all "no one talks to my mama like that!" and SLAP again. Zoe said if Fer was poisoned, it was probably Manwitch doing it to control him, but as usual no one listens to reason.

Manwitch had run into Isa and Zoe at the bruja cafe where they went for fortune telling, so now she's using that as "proof" that they are behind the occult veneno.

Lucia continues to give Willy a hard time and forbid him from going near any of the casa hogar ladies, especially Adelita.

Doris went to find Mayela, but she was shanghaied by ReIcky and he and Jaibo levied death threats to get her to lure Mayela to meet them. Jaibo's demanding more money and none of it is to go to Mayela. Mayela fainted and Jaibo just let her drop to the pavement. Doris is freaking out but the thugs are impeding her from getting help. Fortunately they're outside at the basketball court, so maybe someone will come along.

Zoe is jealous because Cecilio has been meeting with Doris.

Thanks, Julia! I'm behind again. Sigh.

I must express my envy of the telenovela characters over pharmacies that deliver. Wouldn't that be nice when you're sick and need something, to just stay in bed and wait for it to show up? Here we have to trudge out in the cold and rain and spew germs all over the world to get medicine.

Well, to clarify, they WILL deliver here, but they're so slow it's pointless. If you're miserable enough to want medicine delivered, you probably don't want to wait six hours for it.

Julia,
I have a friend in a major city whose apartment building is erected over a major drug store (or the drug store is on the lobby floor of the apartment building?). As long as he can get to the elevator, make it down to the lobby, get back the same way, he's set.

Almost makes the idea of big city life palatable.

OMG!

Manny's lies are so blatant, and so obvious. But her "victims" are too stupid to do the basic checking. She has two witnesses - Isa and Sarita. All they have to do is tell Fer the threat (not apology) Manny delivered: stay away from Fer and she won't press charges. But no........

And, oh, I loved Isa's logic for suing Fer as well. Sarita couldn't reason with her. Conclusion - she's just as dumb as Fer, but then we knew that already.

Geez, Felipe, you have an addiction. I can't believe the risks he takes. Why does he want to stay married to Zoe?

Julia thanks so much for your recap. I really hate the thugs (rIcky & Jaibo) and hope someone rescues Doris and Mayela. And though she's a bad character, Mayela needs to realize her baby daddy is a very bad man.

Was it significant the EWM had a conversation with her dead sister and the sister called her a witch?

BL - I hear you as I am behind as well.

Audrey - Yes, EWM's stuff is very obvious and anyone with a brain would realize they need to check EVERYTHING she says. But alas our leads do not have brains.

And F5 needs to get a divorce already. What does he think is going to happen when Zoe finds out? I don't enjoy ballistic Zoe.

Lo del viernes:

- Manny accuses Isa & Sarita of poisoning Fernando and tells Isa she won't denounce her to the police if she promises to get out of Fer's life for good. Isa says enough already, she's suing Manny for slander. Isa calls Felipe and Manny calls Cecilio and it looks like it could get interesting.

- Adelita gets a bad cold and Jazmin makes her some spiked tea which gets her sloppy drunk. The girls are afraid Lucia will kill them when she gets home, so they corral Moncho into helping them sober her up. He ends up sweet-talking her, but she's lost her thick eyeglasses and thinks he's Willy.

- Felipe bickers with Zoe over Isabel's lawsuit and ends up in bed with Blondie again. When he wakes up there in the morning, he tries to get Ceci to lie for him and Ceci says no.

- Jaibo tells Mayela Doris isn't really pregnant and just wants to buy her baby to put one over on some guy. Mayela calls Doris and tells her the deal's off, but when Jaibo hears he smacks her around some more.

- Jorge gives Isa the money to pay back Fernando, and she quits her job at the constructora. When Jorge sees Manny, he tells her to lay off his novia or she'll really see his ugly side.

Thank you, Blue Lass!

Shouldn't the doctor have warned Fer that the poison makes him really gullible? That was mentioned as one of the symptoms. Now he's raving over how Mani's always there for him while everyone else is suspicious.

Drunk Adelita was a hoot, as was Moncho's reaction to her. He's so smitten...too bad she thinks it was Willy.

So Mayela has late-pregnancy dangerous high blood pressure and the doc's advice is just "avoid stress and eat less salt"? Should we start a Mayela deathwatch?

"Avoid stress? CAN'T YOU SEE THIS IS A TELENOVELA, MAN???"

HAHAHA!!

Indeed. Doc could see Jaibo and rIcky standing there, right? How does he think his patient is going to avoid stress if he sends her away with those thugs?

Thanks so much Blue. I just hope Cecelio doesn't get hurt as he has already figured out the one harming Fer is EWM.

Has anyone seen ads for the replacement for Sortilegio? I haven't and now have a sinking feeling that AC might go to two hours again :(

I laugh every time doctors in TNs lecture the patient to calm down/stay calm. Give me a break, LOL! Must be a nice doctor fantasy that their patient can begin to be calm.

All I can say is "Oooh NOOOOO!", but I suppose it was inevitable. Still, why now?
