ok -- so Daniel and Ximena have similar birthmarks. Agustina is Ximena's mother, Agatha was Daniel's. Does this mean Agatha messed with Ximena's dad -- while he was married to Agustina? And she stepped out on her husband with Don Daniel? Wow, Agatha sure got around.

Now we find out Pablo, Rocio's son, is related to Camila, Augstina's daughter and Don Dan's niece. Did Rocio step out on her husband with Gussie's first husband, Don Dan's bro?

My poor Gussie -- seems all her men just step out on her and scatter their seed everywhere. Dang!

Oooh! Paquita, you got a good episode. Thanks for giving us the wonderful play by play.

Dan didn't try very hard to tell Cami the truth, now did he? The kissing started and then his little brain took over. Well, at this point Cami is going to break up with him when she finds out the truth anyway, so he might as well "live their love" for as long as he can before that happens, right? They were very cute in the hospital, sneaking around saying I love yous, and then that stolen kiss as he wheeled her out. It was Cami who said thank you for the flower, without him admitting it was him. She knows her man (well, except for his real identity).

Bruno did take the check. He kind of lewdly ran it over Xi's lips, then took it and left, while demanding more. I wonder what larcenous Xi is going to do to steal more cash from Cami? Mariano has already noticed that one check.

Thanks for noticing the synchronized hand sanitation of Al and Isa. They were totally doing identical movements-- both sitting with their legs crossed in the same way, same body language, they both even tilted their heads in the same way at one point when Dio was being particularly arrogant and annoying. Great subtle acting by the two actors to show just how closely tied to mommy's apron strings Al is.

As for the relationships between Cami-Pablo and Dan-Xi, we've had a few discussions on this. Here's what we know:

-Both Dan and Ximena's last names are Diaz. It's not hard to figure out that they are related legitimately (no affairs since they both have their father's last name). So either their fathers are related (the Diaz), or they have the same father. Dan is much older than Xi, and his father was already out of the picture when Dan was a baby. So if they have the same father, it was not from an affair. He was likely just with Agatha and Agustina in different decades.
-Camila's dad was long dead before young Pablo came along. So if they are related, it's through Don Daniel. It does seem that Don Daniel was a bit of a DOn Juan, although Agatha was his one true love, and he never gave Agustina the time of day.

Dan and Cam's faces when whoever it is (Gussy?) yells good morning were priceless. LOL!

It was also cute when Cami told Dan that this isn't the first time she's made love to him, and that first time she went to sleep with him, but woke up with Maja. He asked how was he (his lovemaking skills) the first time, and her answer was "oof!" He didn't ask how it compared to reality, so he must be pretty sure of his skills, although he did add the caveat that he was affraid of hurting her because of her injury and the doctor's orders of rest. Speaking of those doctor's orders, I don't think sexual healing was on the list of prescriptions, but it seems to have worked wonders!
 

Thanks for the update on the Dan/Xi genetics. I haven't been keeping up with my blog reading so I must've missed the discussions!
 

Censorship is a bitch, isn't it?

Now Camila has to deal with Mama Metiche possibly finding out. However, I think Andres/Daniel will somehow pull a fast exit out the window or something to keep her finding out for the moment.

Rafael is starting to get on my nerves. Camila is just not into him and anyone around them can see that.

Ximeana has no morals, no couth, and no brains. No wonder Alonssso is into her.

Muchas gracias, Paquita, for a[nother] wonderful recap. Jardinera beat me to it--I would have cited the same lines that she did as being faves. I especially loved the rifs on Alonso's name (esp. Alonsoyesterday and Alonsonotmyson) and your vow about Leoncio, or, rather, "He-who’s-name-will-no-longer-be-used in my blogs." I also greatly appreciated your detailed descriptions of some scenes that went by me too quickly, as well as the way you blended the song lyrics into your description of the cabana scene.

Cindy, ITA with your statement about the see-though curtains in Camila's cabana. I had the same thought as soon as I saw them, and indeed I half expected that someone would see Cam and Dan last night. There seems to be a law in TNs against opaque curtains and doors that close all the way.
 

Agatha could have told Daniel that his father died, just like Amanda told Natalia HER father died, to cover up the fact that he left her. We already know the Diaz marriage wasn't all that because Agatha had the affair with Don Daniel.

When in reality, Mr. Diaz left Agatha and went back to Mexico to swindle Augustina, since "everybody knows" (per Bruno) the Monterdes have money.

Pablo could only be Camila's 1st cousin through Don Daniel, and not her brother:

Augustina's a widow of Mr. Monterde (Camila)

Augustina's 2nd marriage produced Ximena;

Pablo is younger than both Camila & Ximena.

Don Dan just died.

If Camila/Pablo are related it's thru Don Dan (primos), not Camila's dad (hermanos).

As much as I love seeing them together it bothers me that Danil/Andres keeps going back on his promises to Rafa and Vivi that he will back off until he Tells Camilla the truth!

I would like it to be Piedad who offs Leoncio. He destroyed her life by killing the man she loved, left her daughter without a father and then violated her daughter. Though I think any punishment is too good for him, I’d like to see him hanged, cut down while still alive and drawn and quartered. I’d like to see him die a thousand deaths, each one worse than the one before. Like an episode of Criminal Minds where the guy kept drowning his victims and then bringing them back alive. Only I’d prefer electrocuting Leo to drowning. And if I hear him whistle for Luz like she’s a dog ONE MORE TIME, I’m going to reach right into the TV and do the deed myself!

Felt very sorry for Rafa. All I can say is that it’s a good thing he’s a good guy. Any one else would have gone straight to Cam and told her who Andres was.

We’re going to have the same situation we had in MEPS when Fernanda found out Franco was Eduardo and he didn’t tell her before sleeping with her.

Not fond of CdlF’s acting, but I was impressed with that bit of business he did at the computer when he was with Luz—making faces, etc.

Looks like CdlF might have hurt SN when he kissed her at the hospital.

Love her telling the lamp to be quiet when she hit it accidentally.

Loved the little fall Pablo did when he was hugging Cam and accidentally hugged Luz.

Love that, even though she’s a meddling witch, Rocio’s seems to have helped raise sons who stand on their own to feet and won’t be told what to do my mama.

Poor Bruno. He’s one of those guys who think he can pull anything on anybody. He’s going to try it with the Evil Three and get squashed—especially by Dio.

Nanette- Agreed that CdlF is not the strongest actor in the world. But he's a joy (for me) to look at. It's hard to keep up with SN in a scene because she puts her whole self into it and throws spontaneity in too. I'm sure that shushing of the lamp was not scripted, for example, or the ow! she threw in as she and Dan made their way to the bed. She and Juan Soler had really crackling chemistry in CME and he was able to keep up and play along with her in most of their scenes. I think CdlF will learn a lot working with an actress like her. It's a different kind of acting style than most of the tn (non-comedy) ladies use.

The way I reconcile my feelings about the way CdlF plays Dan, is that Dan is a low key/low simmer kind of guy. He's a cerebral computer dude. He watches, he observes, and then he acts. Unless the person he cares about is in immediate danger, then he reacts immediately.

 

Paquita: Great recap. I love the part about not using you-know-who's name anymore.

Amor: I agree with you re Dan/Andres and his going back on his word to Rafa. Flaco and I are arguing about it. He says Cam doesn't love Rafa and never will and true love triumphs, etc, but I think one of the main reasons Rafa was upset was because Dan broke their agreement. Of course, I'm probably a little prejudice because I don't really care for Dan. I like Mariano for Cam--know it's not going to happen, though
 

Vivi: One of the reasons I don't like Dan, besides his "betrayal" of Rafa :) is that he's so hang dog all the time. Your description of the kind of man Dan is a big help. I can see it now.

Re: SN. She's one of those rare actors who has chemistry with everybody--men and women. Morgan Freeman is like that, too.
 

I don't think Daniel owes Rafael any promise to stay away from Camila. He owes Camila the truth.

My gut tells me that if the truth is disclosed in front of Rafael and Camila realizes he knew about Daniel/Andres' true identity, they're both screwed for at least 20 episodes.

I think we're going to be stuck with Bruno for a while.

As for Leoncerdo, I want someone to do a Lorena Bobbitt on him and the honor should go to Piedad and Luzma.

Can I just say to Cam y Daniel: CLOSE THE CURTAINS! We know she is ground level and anyone can look in.

And while I'm playing TN police... Bruno, NO SHOES ON THE BED! I swear no one in TN land has ever paid for a comforter to be drycleaned.

I loved the sneak-kiss while wheeling out of the hospital. Just adorable. I think the look on Cam's face was just shock that he dared to that.

That had to be a shout-out to CME when Daniel mouthed "te amo mas" and then repeated it again in bed.

And here's another reason why we love SN: when she crashes into the lamp she steadies it and tells it "shhhh". How cute is she?

Heated confrontation in the beginning with Rafa and Daniel. I even saw some flop sweat. Funny, I'd never even heard the term "flop sweat" until yesterday and then I see it twice within 24 hours. Rafa must see that Camila just ain't feelin' it for him. And Vivi just stands there. Waiting.
 

RlaO: It bothered me, too, about Bruno's shoes on the bed.

UA: we may disagree about the deal thing, but I'm with you on them both being screwed when Cam finds out--and they'll be lucky if it's only for 20 eps! Let's see: Vivi, Luz, Nat, Amanda--who else is also going to be in the doghouse?
 

Paquita--You got the best episode so far to recap. Wonderful narrative and description. I liked the synchronized hand sanitizing phrase.

I didn't think Xi gave Bruno a check. Bruno wouldn't have been that stupid. He would have wanted cash. Where is he going to cash a check that big (even though he thought it was kinda small). It would be harder for Xi to cover it up--she was smart enough to take one from the back, but Mariano and Nat both know something fishy happened.

Yes it was Cam who said thank you for the flower first...everything about the episode was perfection. Can't wait til tonight--there is no back door to the cabana.

Vivi--Your insight into Dan's personality is so accurate. Thank you for making it clear. Let's give him some slack. I'd rather be watching him standing there, hands folded in front of him taking, in the group mutual admiration session, knowing that Camila is already his, than watching Alonso, Mariano or Rafael in the role.

Anita- I actually liked the subtle looks that were passing between Dan and Cam when she gushed about Mariano. A bit of a jealous look on his part, and then calm after she gave him a look like, "You know YOU'RE the one I love, so chill."

That last line, I can keep seeing Agustina in purple with her grinning face!

Great recap PdelB and thanks much for the vocabulary. What about those sparkling mirrored and rotating stars used to censor. LOL.

Rosemary, you are so funny. The TN police. I think it sounded like Aggie coming to the cabana in the morning. I hope Dan dives under the bed.

Nanette, we all have our personal preferences and tastes about actors. I didn't like Juan Soler at all. He's not at all attractive to me and he was way too old for Sylvia in my opinion. I think we still have to wait to judge CdlF on his acting chops. He is still playing the meek and quiet chofer. Once his true identity has come out and he is portraying himself as Dan and doesn't have to act subservient, then that will be the time to assess his abilities, again in my opinion.

I thought that Xi did give Bruno the check and he took it. That explains the last scene with Mariano asking Natalia about the check that is missing from the back of the checkbook out of sequence for $20,000. My cc's said it was in dollars. He said that the checks jump from something like #504, and then the next one cashed for $20,000 was #549. (Not sure about the exact check numbers, but they were from different ends of the checkbook. I did see Xi writing on the last check.)

As far as Rafa's jealousy, he already told Cam how he feels about her and she told him she didn't feel the same way, and she just wanted to be friends. So Rafa needs to cool his jets with regards to them. Let their love bloom.
 

Oh man Urban. I really hope Cami's on the pill. Gussy would REALLY have a heart attack if Cami ends up pregnant by the driver, who's her maybe bastard cousin, while she's still married to someone else.
 

We have already seen a doctor who doesn't know enough to practice safe sex from Cuando Me Enamoro, so I wouldn't be surprised if Dr. Camila Monterde gets pregnant either.
 

In that case I hope Luzmamacita is not pregnant either.

Camila being pregnant now would be disastrous in view of her divorce/annulment because of the presumptive paternity rule.

It's so funny that no one's noticing how the chauffeur is tenderly catering to all Camila's needs. Crazy how Dion, Hisss, Al, and Xi can't imagine that D'Andres, the hottest guy at the ranch, could be The One.

I think Pablo deliberately hid behind the tree to overhear Luzma with pedazo de mierda. Hope he tells Mariano what he suspects.

 

Niecie- Yes, Pablo is doing what most good guys fail to do in most tns-- snoop. He both wants to be close to Luzma to protect her from whoever her attacker was, and find out who it was, since Luzma refuses to tell. I don't think it will be long before he suspects Leon, although I think it will be hard for most to imagine that someone could be capable of doing that to his own family member.
 

cathyx - since you force me to talk about CME again... I agree with you about Juan Soler. He does nothing for me. I thought Renata looked better with Matias, if only he wasn't her brother. lol

And how can we forget stupid pregnant Dr. Yellow Tatas? You know it only happened once, on a desk, with his socks on....

So Bruno, out in the campo with a laptop, maybe, is such a good and fast hacker that he's already found the e-mails between Rafa and Camila? I guess we'll see for sure, but someone with that kind of computer talent could be making more money than he's making trying to shake down the likes of Ximena (though it is kinda fun to watch).
It does set up the delicious prospect of our really talented computer guy, Daniel, counterhacking on Rafa's old computer.

I like Vivi's description of CdlF's style and role here and the challenge of acting with the very talented SN. I have to say that from the start I've liked him as Daniel/d'Andres, though he may not be a virtuoso actor . . . at least yet. His size and physical presence make a big difference in his credibility. And, the chemistry was there last night, IMHO.

However, he must tell Camila sooner rather than later about his identity. He's not only betraying her in a certain sense, he's taking risks with the lives of all of the people who know his identity and have risked their hides for him. Rafa needs to give up his claim on Camila, but gee, the guy's brother traveled quite a way to engage in a ruse that could have gone astray, with bad consequences. Finally, Daniel doesn't know that he and Camila aren't cousins. Only we in viewerville have the scoop on that one, or at least we think we do.

Pregnancy for Camila does indeed seem likely. The symmetry of two women and two children, many miles apart, is a TN dream.

Wouldn't Miriam have given birth already? Or soon? Seems like it's been a few months since D'Andres got there. Not that that would stop these writers from another "2 pregnant women" story. Isn't that divorce lawyer back in town yet? Camila needs to get on that STAT.

And good for Pablo! He's a smart kid. He'll suspect Leasshole soon enough, and seems he has the will to stand up to him. Normally he might not, but normally he wouldn't know any of this and would be flirting with Bratgirl. He's just like his alleged cousin Camila.

I wonder how Bruno "the Hacker" is going to get around Daniel "the Computer Systems Engineer". I hope that Dan always stays one step ahead of Bruto.

Traveling Lady, I was asking myself the same thing about Bruno's hacking skills. If he's so good, why couldn't he hack into anonymous accounts and steal money? No need to bother Xi about it.

I'm also a little peeved with Cam, endangering her chances of getting an annulment by having an affair. And if she gets pregnant. . . !!!!

After reading everyone's comments, I have been thinking about CdlF/Dan. I think C is a competent actor, and I certainly agree that he's good looking, though not my type. I like Vivi DC's description of the character he's playing--it makes sense. It's just that I prefer a more animated galan. I do think that CdlF is doing a fine job of playing the "cerebreal computer dude" that Vivi described, however.

I'm tuning in late after a very hectic day. But I must say thanks for a terrific recap. Just about any comment I would make has already been said in the 36 comments ahead of mine. But here's my 2 cents: 1) I'm pretty sure Bruno did keep the check.
2) Rafa is getting on my nerves even though I understand his rationale. For some reason I think that Rafa is going to either be the person who ultimately blows Dan's cover or to the other extreme be the person who solves the chilean mess that ultimately frees Dan. With that in mind, I don't see how Dan can expose himself without first clearing up the problems left over from Chile. That should be his first priority.
3) Mariano does nothing for me. He's a good guy, a likeable guy, but I can see why the chemisty isn't there for Camila.

So now it seems there's no question that Camila and Pablo are related. Cousins because Don Dan is Pablo's real father.

I don't think neither Camila nor Luzma will turn out pregnant. If Luzma was pregnant that's like incest and it would stink. I didn't like the whole rape situation in LFdD. I wouldve liked to see Ivan and Lucia have a child together in the end.

I wonder how DDA's secret will stay secret from Camila...for now.
