Amor Bravío #41 (Uni 36) Tue 10/9/12 Anvil comes close but not close enough to kill Leoncio, DARN!
El Camino
Daniel and Julio stare at each other. Julian has apparently
recognized Daniel and the chase is on.
Daniel zooms off with Julian in hot pursuit
Rancho Malquerida
Gussie tells Camila about the “fire” at Hissadora's place,
explaining that she and Alonsso will have no choice but to remain at
Malquerida. No way, no how, says
Camila. She can't have them out of there
fast enough. She comes up with the plan
to have them stay at her house in town, the one that Tio Daniel left her in
town. Gussie reminds her she was
planning to use that home in the event that Daniel threw her out once he
claimed his inheritance. Camila doubts
he'll throw her out. She tells Gussie to
let her handle the Kimodos.
Speak of the devils, they're arm in arm in the courtyard when
they bump into that other devil, Leoncio.
He wonders what he should call Alonssso now since the talk around
Malquerida is that he won't be here much longer. If that's the case, Leoncio thinks he may
have to leave also but he doesn't want to leave just like that. He wants his severance pay – for work already
done. Alonsoclueless suggests he take
that up with Camila. Not so fast, says
Leoncio. If he takes it up with Camila,
it may not go so well for the Kimodos, especially for Alonsoscrewed because
he'll have to explain why he wants to leave.
He doesn't think the Kimodos would want him telling Camila about all the
work he did for them. Hissadora's not
concerned. She doesn't think Leoncio
would dare talk, because then he'd have to explain everything he's
done. Leoncio tells her there's more than one way to explain things, such as
sending an anonymous letter spelling out all the evil deeds. Alonssso tells him to stop with the threats
or he may end up like the Padrecito. Ah,
Leoncio has taken some precautions. He's
written a letter spelling everything out everything to the police and
Camila. The Kimodos nervously laugh this off, not
believing a word he's saying. Leoncio
says they'd better believe him. Alonssso
assures him it doesn't matter because he's not going anywhere and is still the
boss at La Malquerida. (wait, didn't he
watch yesterday's episode?). Leoncio
hopes that's true, otherwise they know what they need to do before they
leave. He walks away and the Kimodo's
continue to laugh behind his back, clearly not taking him seriously.
Back inside, Gussie complains to Camila about her behavior
toward her honey, Dion. She doesn't
understand why Cam doesn't trust him when all he's done is help them. Aside from that, Gussie feels that Cam just
doesn't like him and maybe that's why she's putting up barriers. Camila explains that this is not the case. She asks her mother to please explain to Dion
that lately she doesn't even trust her own shadow. It's nothing personal. Gussie's glad to hear that cuz she
luuuurrrves Dion and wouldn’t want to choose between them! (no, she did not just say that!) Camila assures her there's no need to put
herself in this disyuntiva (dilemma). She suggests that Gussie and Dion
allow her to handle her own matters and they'll all get along just fine. Gussie's relieved. Camila also asks her mother to take things a
little slower with Dion (oh my, a little too late). She's so loving and so generous and Camila wouldn't
want to see her hurt. Gussie's sure it
won't be that way because Dion is an honest and faithful man (gag) and he loves
her. Camila understands because Gussie's
so nice. She repeats that she just wants
Gussie to be careful. She loves to see
her so happy. Gussie tearfully tells her
not to worry. Camila asks her to heed
her advice and take it slowly. Through
tears, Gussie agrees.
On the road…
The pursuit continues, our hero in the white horse, er car,
and the villain in the black car.
La Malquerida
Mariano and Yago have come to visit. Mariano explains Yago wants to reseñar (review) plans
for a corrida in honor of Don Daniel.
Yago will run out to the pastizales (pastures) to pick out some
bulls for the corrida this weekend. She
asks Dorotea to take Yago to Leoncio so they can go off to said pastizales. In the meantime, she and Mariano will head to
her cabin to discuss business.
At the cabin, she introduces Mariano to Natalia who explains
she's already brought over all the documents pertaining to the business. Camila explains Alonssso is still using the
office even though he is no longer administrator for La Malquerida. Mariano will take all the archives from the
computer in a USB and he'll take any remaining documentation with him to make
copies. He can work from his office
while Camila works from her cabin. In this
manner, they won't have to run in to Alonsso, avoiding any conflict. Camila's amazed they can do this (duh). Mariano explains they'll still need to meet
face to face a few times a week either here or at Buenaventura. He also suggests that Camila learn how to
run this place on her own in the event the need comes up in the future, and
then she'll only need a consultant from time to time. The subject of paying him comes up again. He refuses and she insists. She's
very grateful for his help.
Los Pastizales
Yago's out with Rodolfo and Leoncio choosing the bulls for
the corrido. They discuss the details of
picking out the right bulls. The bull
isn't amused.
Hissadora's Apartment,
or what's left of it
Alonssso and his mama are there with the claims adjuster who
explains the fire seems to have been caused by a short circuit. The insurance will cover the loss so long as
the expert's report (peritaje)
indicates the fire wasn't intentionally set.
Hissadora immediately assumes the guy's accusing her. (guilty conscience, Hissie?) The adjuster explains the process and advises
them that if the peritaje's report
is in their favor, they should have the money in a month, or month and a half.
Back to the chase…
Daniel arrives at the ranch and gets through the gate
shouting to Rafael, who happens to be there, to hurry and shut the gate, he's
being chased!! Julian arrives at the
closed gate and retreats. Daniel
explains the encounter and the chase to Rafael.
In the meantime, Julian finds a bushy place to park and he calls Dion to
explain he's found Daniel and he's following him. Consider him dead because this time there
will be no escape. He draws a gun and
heads back on foot.
La Buenaventura
BraGirl's parents, Alberto and Felicia, have returned as well as the owners of
Buenaventura, Caretano and Rocio. Ileana
explains Mariano and Yago have gone over to La Malquerida. The talk turns to this weekend's corrida
which is sure to be quite the celebration.
Left alone, mama asks Ileana about the seduce-Pablo-plan. She admits not too well but he's not marrying
that Gata – so there's been some progress.
La Malquerida kitchen
Piedad rushes in as Luzma is starting dinner. Piedad snuck out to buy Luzma a gift as a way
of showing her how much she loves her.
The subject turns to school.
Luzma tells her she's not planning on returning to school. Piedad admits she wasn't too keen on her
going to school, but that was mostly Leonio's influence. Now, she really wants Luzma to go back to
school so she won't be as dumb as herself (Piedad) or suffer the same bad luck
La Malquerida gate
Julian arrives, gun in hand, trying to find a way in. He finally climbs over the wall and is caught
by Leoncio, who also has a gun! Leoncio
recognizes him as Fidencio but Julian says he's Fidencio's brother! Julian:
“What a small world. The last
thing I expected was to run into my brother's assassin!”
He accuses Leon of killing Fidencio because he wanted to
marry Piedad. Leo says Fidencio
abandoned Piedad. Julian is sure that's
the story he told her but he's a miserable coward. He knows Leon killed his brother even if he
insists otherwise. We see a flashback of
Leon (in his younger days) attacking a Julian look alike from behind with a
garrote, saying he warned him to stay away from his sister. He ends up choking him to death and putting
the body in the back of a pickup. He
drives him to another destination, shoots him, and throws the body over a
cliff. Julian claims someone witnessed
this. Fidencio was the only good thing
in his life. He got the scorpion tattoo
in his memory. He looked for Leon under
every rock, but Leon escaped north without a trace. Leoncio begins to deny everything when Julian
gets a jump on him, telling him to shut up so he can enjoy this moment that
he's been wanting for so long. They
tumble to the floor, they struggle, Leoncio's on top, then Julian's on top.....
Rafael and Daniel are where Daniel entered the ranch after
the chase. They're waiting for a bit
before returning to the house. Rafa
takes this moment to question Daniel's intentions toward Camila. They had a deal. He accuses Daniel backing out of the deal and
not taking Rafa's feelings for Camila into consideration. Daniel asks Rafael to consider how difficult
this has been for him. Does he really
think that Daniel had ever imagined he would fall in love with the woman he
once thought was his enemy? It hasn't
been easy understanding his feelings, much less accept them. Rafael:
“Do you expect me to feel sorry for you?
I'm interested in Camila and you know it.” Daniel: “ I care for her too and she feels
the same.” Rafael: “ No. She might be interested in Andres the
chauffer and vaquero. But you're Daniel Diaz Acosta, the man she thinks is her
cousin. And that's very different. You haven't been honest with her. You got near her knowing of her unhappiness
and that's a deception (engaño). Tell her the truth and if she still accepts
you, then I'll step aside. But if she
rejects you, then you need to step aside.
Let her choose but only after she knows the truth and knowing what I
truly feel for her.” Daniel: “You're
right. Perhaps it's time she know my
true identity.”
A GUNSHOT!!!
Rafa and Daniel run toward the sound. As they creep up on the scene, we see Julian
on top of Leoncio, but alas it's Julian that's wounded. (I understand they both need to die but I
really wanted Leoncio to die NOW).
Julian rolls off still swearing he's going to kill him. Leoncio gets to his feet, finds his gun and
tells Julian to say hello to his brother.
He fires the shot as Rafael and Daniel look on. Daniel figures Leoncio though Julian was a
thief trying to rob the place. They
continue to look on as Leoncio makes to hide the body. They can't figure out why he'd go through the
trouble if he thought the guy was there to rob the place. Leoncio walks away. Daniel and Rafa approach the body and Daniel
sees the tatoo. This is the man who
killed his wife and child!
Buenaventura
Pablo is watching a horse going through his exercises. Mom and dad surprise him. They decided to come home at the last minute
when Alberto and Felicia decided to return to their daughter. Mom is so happy to have her 3 sons home at
the same time. Pablo tells them he's
leaving. Dad doesn't understand. He asked Pablo many times to join him in the
city at his business but Pablo always insisted he wanted to stay at the
ranch. Mom knows something's wrong. Pablo tries to assure her nothing's
wrong. He just wants to leave here,
leave Mexico. He wants to be as far away
from here as possible.
Malquerida
Camila, Mariano, and Natalia are in the cabin. Natalia hands him the USB and he explains, to
Camila's amazement, that he'll later install a program that will simultaneously
upload any changes on her computer as he makes them. Yago comes up. He and Natalia exchange “The Look” with
accompanying music. Yago is impressed
with the bulls on the ranch and will e-mail her the photos he took. Natalia notes Camila's e-mail for him. Everyone says their goodbyes as Natalia and
Yago exchange goo-goo eyes. Too cute.
The Devil's Lair
The Kimodo's and Dion
meet. He's still pithed that “Daniel” popped up in that photo. “That will be the last time he gets the best
of us,” says Hissadora. “By this time tomorrow,
he'll be dead and all our problems will be solved.” “Not all of them,” chimes in Alonssso. Dion tries Julian's cell again to no
avail. He tells them Julian had found
Daniel and was in hot pursuit. Alonssso
wishes he had been able to negotiate with that guy. As bad as things are between him and Camila,
he doesn't know how he's going to regain his position at the ranch. Dion understands it won't be easy; however he
expects that although Camila isn't the same woman he met, her mother continues to
be her weak point. Alonssso announces he
needs to return to the ranch. Camila is
meeting with that Mariano guy and who knows what they may be up to. Hissadora tells him she'll catch up to him
later. She's got some errands to
run. Dion offers to take her wherever
she'd like but she turns him down. She
thanks him and asks them to keep them abreast of what's going on with
Julian. The Kimodo's leave together and
Dion looks pithed, as always.
La Malquerida
Leoncio returns with a shovel and Daniel doesn't understand
why he didn't report the shooting.
Rafael and Daniel discuss their dilemma.
Leoncio has killed a man, clearly in self-defense, yet he's burying him
without notifying the police. Rafael
feels it's their duty to report what they've witnessed but Daniel is concerned about
stepping forward due to his legal status.
Hacienda
Gussie has told Ximena about the Daniel sighting at the
dinner. Ximena can't believe she didn't
notice him in the room. She's excited
about Daniel showing up because she figures she'll claim him as her own and
live the life she's always wanted. This way she'll never have to return to
Monterrey. Gussie wonders why she
wouldn't want to return. Ximena fibs and
says she's realized the rancho isn't as bad as she thought. Marrying a rich man will allow her to forget
all the bad times in Monterrey and live the life she deserves. Gussie only shakes her head in disbelief.
Back in Town....
A taxi delivers Hissadora to the shady lawyer's office and
she tells the cabbie to wait. She rings
the doorbell and we see that Dion has followed her. He seems confused. The shady lawyer has Camila's bogus will
leaving everything to Alonssso. She
never plans to tell him the truth because as his “mother” he'll always do as
she says whether or not he agrees. She
hands him a check and he slyly says he hopes there are sufficient funds to back
it up. She shoots back saying she
could've paid him nothing but she doesn't like leaving loose ends. He hopes this makes them even. She reminds him she's the one who'll decide
if they're even, not him. She goes back
to the waiting cab but doesn't see Dion who pulls up to the office. He asks the receptionist if he's in time to
meet Hisssadora. The receptionist, as
all doctors in TNs, has no notion of client privileges spills the frijoles that
not only was Hissadora there, she left with a copy of Camila's will. She goes to tell the lawyer that Dion is
there but he leaves before she can finish.
Back at the
ranch.....
Leoncio has finished the burial and leaves the scene. Rafael and Daniel have witnessed
everything. They realize now that
Leoncio is much more dangerous than they thought. Daniel has to get back before he's
missed. Before he leaves he makes it
clear to Rafa that it wasn't his intention to betray him with regards to
Camila. Before he leaves, he asks to use
Rafa's cell in order to plan a date with her where he plans to tell her that
Daniel and Andres are one and the same.
Leoncio el Desgraciado
He returns to his room highly agitated. He cleans off the gun and stashes in under
his mattress (good hiding place, dude).
He has a flashback to Piedad's wedding day. Fidencio is an hour late. She's sure he wouldn't abandon her. He must be ill, or something (I'll say). “That's what they all say,” says
Leoncio. “He's abandoned you here all
dressed up and excited. To make matters
worse, you're carrying (a child). Don't
worry (he embraces her). As long as I'm
alive, you and your child will want for nothing.” We come back to Leoncio in the present taking
a swig from a bottle and staring up at the crucifix over his bed.
Hacienda
Rodolfo assures Daniel no one's asked for him. Good.
Daniel tells him he's off to the lake (oh, oh, oh, gratuitous shirtless
Daniel?) If anyone asks for him, give him a holler. Rodolfo boasts that Natalia invited him to La
Hostal to meet her mother. Daniel agrees
they make a good couple. Daniel meets
Camila in the kitchen and makes small talk.
He invites her to join him at the lake and suggests she can take Maja if
she'd like. She looks longingly at him
as he leaves. She thought bubbles that
she would love to go to the lake with him but she must maintain her distance
lest her feelings for him get the best of her.
Leoncio, the
Disgusting
Another flashback. This
time in the confessional with the now defunct Padre. He confesses he murdered Fidencio because he
impregnated his sister. He's only
confessing because he needs to tell someone, not because he's repentant. Padre Baldomaro wonders what the point is in
confessing if he’s not repentant. Back
at the present, Leoncio is frightened by a loud noise. He takes out his gun and then returns to the
bottle.
Camila's Cabin
Rafael meets with Camila with the news that he has an e-mail
from Daniel asking to meet with her alone at an abandoned cabin.

Dang it! I really though Julian was gonna do us a favor an kill Leoncio, el Desgraciado. I wish they had killed each other. Guess I have to wait awhile longer. El Desgraciado actually did a good thing albeit for all the wrong reasons.

Wonderful recap Paquita!
Wow! I did not see that twist coming. Julian is Luzma's uncle, and her other uncle bumps him off! I'm with you Paquita. I wish they had bumped each other off and took us, and Luzma, out of our misery.
The prime reason Luzma is keeping her mouth shut is because of Leon's threat to kill Pablo. Now, I take that threat 100% seriously seeing what he did to her father, who was also trying to take away what he sees as his (his sister). Now we know why he was so eager and willing to off the Padre. Did Julian really say someone else knew about the murder of his brother? I wonder who? And will that person pop up next?
I am very happy that Julian is dead, and at least that immediate danger has been put to rest. Dion will have a fit when he can't find him. Ha!
On another note, poor Rodolfo! Natalia and Iago were mutually bitten by the love bug. I think falling for such a cutie, who is from the lower class (although educated), will teach Iago a needed lesson. Let's see him fight for his love against his snob parents, and I bet he'll see Pablo's situation differently. In the meantime, can the writers add a new character just for Rodolfo? A nice, cute chica.

1) Daniel is in Mexico illegally. If Daniel goes to the police to testify, he'd have to give his real identity, which would blow his cover. The Komodo Gang wouldn't have any hesitation about calling Chilean authorities to send Dan back to prison, and with Julian now dead, Dan can't prove that he didn't kill Miriam.
2) If Dan & Rafa testify and Dan has to give his real name, that would also blow Aaron's cover and blow up the plan.
3) If Dan & Rafa testified, the Komodo Gang could frame "ANDRES" for killing Julian. Then Dan is on the hook for killing Miriam, DDA Jr. and Julian.
As far as Julian is concerned, at least now we know what happened to Piedad's baby daddy...Leoncio killed him all so he could have Piedad to himself. I could maybe understand if Fidencio stood Piedad up at the altar for real, but Leoncio PREVENTED Fidencio from showing up.
Iliana's parents are stupid. Instead of having Iliana target Pablo, she should be targeting Yago, who seems more her speed. But now Yago's been zapped by the love bug for Natalia. Poor Rodolfo. Maybe Iliana can be zapped by the love bug when she sees Rodolfo. It would serve her right to fall in love with someone from the lower class.

Great stuff. I got home just in time for this last night.
Leoncio killed Fidencio so he could control Piedad. Yes, he impregnated her but was going to marry her. That should have been regarded as a good thing. So who ran out on Leoncio that he now takes it out on his sister and niece?
It is definite karma that Iago is falling for Natalia. Maybe he'll teach Ileana a lesson or two about class distinctions. She's a Julie (from Refugio) in training at this point.

Thanks for the recap Paquita. I think Dio now knows that Isa plan; she has no reason to create a will for Cam but to kill her and Aloser so she can be the sole beneficiary. Dio and Isa are alike; it will be interesting to see if he confronts her and uses it against her in some why in the future.
Vivi - didn't see the twist and wanted both to kill one another. Tio still needs to die. It would be fun having him face off with Isa and my money is on her.

Thanks Paquita! As I watch this show in bed with a tv that does not have CCs I sure appreciate you clarifying things for me the next morning.
I am on Team Rodolfo. I hope that even if Natalia snags Iago, Rodolfo will not end up with a shrew like Iliana.
Did we see a little spark of temper by SN when Natalia accidentally stepped on Camila's foot? She blurted "me estoy pisando aqui" and seemed irritated. Then they didn't even cut that part out.

It's interesting how Julian found the REAL DDA yet Dio knows the real DDA as Andres and thinks he's made Andres as an ally to take down DDA. Too bad so sad that Julian is dead before he could clear that up with his boss.
So Leo killed Luzma's father, Fidencio. Again, interesting how that ties into to Julian/Dio/DDA/Andres. Can't wait to see what happens when Dio finds out Leo killed Julian. No one will suspect Leo had a motive to do it.
So I still don't quite get what BratGirl (whatever her name is...) and her parents have against Pablo's family. Are they poor and wanna get the Albarran's fortune? Maybe?
Looks like Izzy took matters into her own hands with the fake will. Dio might be sorry in the end.

Thanks Paquita for the action packed recap. Lots of directions this story can go in. Re: love interest for Rodolfo, there is always Luzma's friend although she might be a match for Tolentino. Tio Leo Sordido is now showing his consciousness is haunted by his demons of the past. Nice karmic twist for now.
I found it amusing when Rafa and Dandres kept bringing up this issue of their mutual admiration for Camila at each of the action spots of the episode. Priorities fellas!
Also, when Dio asked Isa to stay as Al was leaving his place she totally blew him off and we could see all the little jaw muscles tighten on Dio. It was like Isa telling Dio she had a headache. LOL

I actually was glad that Leoncio eliminated Julian as Julian was more of an immediate threat at that time to Daniel/Andres' plan; while Completely foiling Dionisio's plan against Daniel! Double whammy when discovers he never had a tight rein on Isodora and she's now double/triple crossing him.
Leoncio is now a Credible threat but I think he'll be around for while ~ $$$$ & Boooze is his best friend right now.

SN, who played Renanta, and Florencia De Saracho, who played the second Adriana, were best friends in CME and I don't recall seeing any tension between the two. Flaco thinks it was just a nice bit of acting business.

I actually didn't see Cami saying that to Nat as pissy at all. Just how you would say to/tease someone you were really comfy with. Cami is Nat's boss and treats her as such, but always with respect. The two actresses played bffs quite believably and comfortably in CME, so I don't think there's any animosity there.
Nanette - Luz pregnant? Uggghh. That would be awful.

Thanks so much Paquita. Wonderful job as always. As much as I was hoping Leon would die too, I'm more glad that Julian is out of the way. Now Dan can show up at Dion's and wonder where Julian could be. Team good guys will have an easier time without Julian around.

Nanette, usually so fun, brought up my fear of Luzma being preggers. That coupled with ANOTHER potential pretend-to-be-pregnant plot makes for such a buzzkill. Let's hope neither of these happen, amiga!

I agree that it would have been great if Leo and Julian could've killed each other. But since that didn't happen, I'm glad that Julian went first. Not only was he responsible for killing Miriam, which precipitated all of Dan's problems, but he was hunting him down for try #2.
I think that Luzma and Pablo are destined for each other. Avoiding each other is a diversion destined to make making up" more exciting.

Paquita--Our Barrio would be bereft without you. It was great coverage, especially the Leo's on Top, then Julian's on Top. They teased us by having Leo on the Bottom with his eyes closing and then shoving Julian off (still alive).

I will have to get Operation Shine the Light posted because we now have two more characters, Fidencio and Julian,twin brothers--both dead, but ni modo, they need to be memorialized, as well as the Buenaventura parents. Not sure what the relationship is between them and Bratgirl's family.
I got a big kick out of the "Gentleman's Agreement" toward Camila between Rafael and D'andres in the middle of a really scary episode where either one of them could have been seen and shot.
I agree with Vivi re Cam & Nat. She said, me estas pisando aqui, and was probably a true adlib, but they didn't cut it out. They were filming in very tight quarters there and I didn't get the impression it was snippy remark--it was what you would say to a friend if they'd done the same to you.
Loved the invitation from Dan to Cam to go for a swim. His intention, surely, was to make her remember the time he caught her spying on him when Maja got into the water with him and they were playing around--and Dan in his undershorts.
I think he has enough history with her now that he knows she's attracted to him, so when he reveals himself as Daniel tomorrow, he's pretty sure she won't reject him or will forgive him the deception when he explains why he's doing it. Poor Rafa.

RLO--I just checked Wiki for you. Wendy Gonzalez is in something called Como Dice el Dicho which was also filming in 2011. She plays someone named Isabel.
I think there will be a meeting between Daniel Diaz Acosta & Camila, just not between the REAL Daniel Diaz Acosta and Camila. Aaron will be taking Dan's place.
Julian's disappearance/death will be blamed on Daniel by the Komodo Gang since the last they heard from Julian was that he was chasing down Daniel.

Flaco and I were discussing who hadn't yet shown up from the opening credits and I said that there was an older woman, who looks sweet, who hadn't shown up. We were trying to decide how she's "related" to any of the characters and I said she might be someone's Nana. Then I realized that there is no Nana in this novela. My first TN without a Nana.

There was a sweet Nana in El Tal for about a minute and when it dawned on us she would not be integral to the plot (the word plot is being used loosely) we were all so disappointed.

I think the "stepping on toes" incident was a friendly jab from Camila to Natalia because she was all "gaga" over Iago and not watching where she was stepping. Camila does like to tease her friends. It could've been scripted or ad-libbed ... either way, it worked.
