Por ella soy Eva #63 10/12/12: Pluti Lies, Rebeca Serves Up An Ultimaitum, It's A Marvelous Night For A Moondance
Part I
Santi comes shagging his butt into to work, he looks likes he's been thru the wringer, his shirt tail is hangin' out and he's got bed head. He's in the elevator with Eva, gets off with her, and tries to straighten up. She remarks she hasn't seen him since the non wedding when he went to Vegas. Santi finally says he got married in Vegas. Eva says don't tell me, it was a countess right??? Santi says no, I married my ex Angelica! Eva expounds on how bad this woman is, and Santi says but you don't know her, cause remember JC knew her, but not Eva. She backtracks a bit, says the woman probably is no good for him and then Pluti comes down the hall, giving Santi grief about how he looks and Eva saves Santi's bacon, by telling Pluti, Santi was with her, she's a partner too and she and Santi had things to discuss. Pluti finally leaves and Santi thanks her profusely. Eva almost knees him, tells him to stop being stupid and get to work. Santi goes and Adri is right around the corner hissing at Eva, too funny, she thinks one of the Evalettes did it, but they point to Adri. Adri does a kissy face at her and motions with his head, like this way, and the Evalettes have to tell Eva, Adri wants her to follow him. lol.
Adri is holding the door of his office for Eva, and she scoots by him, so as no part of her body brushes against his. Eva brings up the fact she misses all those women that worked at G.I., you know the hundred women who were fired/let go/down sized, you get the pic. Adri reminds her, Pluti said they weren't viable. So Eva turns the tables on Adri and starts to seduce him with his tie, of all things. lol. She rubs it on his face as she sweetly talks to him about women in the bidness and he is sweating and really liking this seduction of Eva's. He says something about looking at the papers again, that Pluti provided to get rid of these women, but Eva says I am going to work and sticks Adri's tie in his mouth, lol. He says Eva, Eva.
Now we have Pluti and Helena walking the halls of G.I. and Pluti is taking her somewhere out of G.I. So she goes with him.
Eva walks into Helena's office and catches Mousse Boy, Renato behind the desk of Helena and she is looking for Helena, who of course isn't there. And Mousse Boy doesn't know either. Eva lectures him a bit and does the two-fingered eye thing at him as in I'm watching your butt. Mousse Boy is so not happy.
Pluti and Helena are in a restaurant and Pluti has given Helena the false, tarted up, fake thesis of Antonia. He says he found it at the house, liar, liar pants on fire and brought it to her. Helena wants to know why there wasn't a copy at G.I., Pluti hems and haws and now there is a visitor to the table, a Sr. Raoul Mendoza, one of the lawyers from the team of lawyers at G.I. This lawyer just happened to be on the team to prove the case of fraud against JC. This is why they couldn't meet at G.I., it's a delicate situation, doncha know. Well this lawyer has absolute, postive proof that JC defrauded G.I. of the three million bucks, and Helena so is not beleiving it and says this guy is wrong, but the lawyer assures her, not so, it is true. Pluti smarmily grins.
Lucia is in the hallway of G.I. runs into Mousse Boy, and tries to engage him in a convo, but he's busy and has some papers of Helena's for the Playa project he has to attend to, and basically walks off. She is talking to the Saints, asking why, why?
Back to Pluti, Sr. Mendoza and Helena. Helena thinks it's a mistake, but Sr. Mendoza assures her there is no doubt JC defrauded G.I. I think the lawyer says they are looking for this three million dollars either in Merida or the U.S., they just don't know where he stashed that money. So the lawyer gives her a confidential report, laying out the whole case, so she will beleive it. They are still looking for the money, internationally too. The lawyer advises Helena not to tell anyone she has these papers and especially not Adri. I smell a rat, don't you? The lawyer gets up and shakes their hands and goes, while Helena is still thinking none of this is true.
Eva is in her office with Mimi, telling her about Carmen and that there isn't just the daughter, but there is also a son! Mimi is shocked. But Eva says noone held a gun to Modesto's head, he did it, and it took two to tango. Eva tells Mimi she is going to the doctor to get the results of Eugenia's tests.
Back to Helena and Pluti, he says now you see that JC was not so innocent. Pluti tells Helena yeah the guy was charming but he was very ambitious and never had to answer for anything, and now you have the proof. Helena still isn't buying it. Now Pluti is fishing for info, with his eyes starting to squint a bit, did JC tell you anything? Helena says no, nothing. She is bothered by this evidence, is very confused by the "evidence". He claims he is sorry for hurting her, as if, she is crying a little, and he reminds her not to say anything about the confidential document. She thanks him, picks up that false copy of Antonia's thesis, shakes his hand, which he is not wanting to let go, and leaves. After she goes, Pluti is not lookin' happy, he thought he could convince her, and throws money on the table and goes.
Marcela comes into the office and Fern is about to leave. She wants to know if he has anything to talk about, but no, he's "working", as if, Fern goes and Marcela has HA!
Pluti and Helena have arrived back at G.I. and Pluti wants Helena to remember what was said, she says she's sorry, I think, thanks him for Antionia's thesis , and goes. He does a fist bump, like yeah I won this one, and goes.
Fern has met up with Eva in the hall, and he says there is a little family problem. She says you got a wonderful family and Eva says if there is a problem maybe I can help you with it, I'll lock it away in the vault so to speak. Fern thinks she is a gossip. Eva tries to argue with him, but Fern still accuses her of being a gossip, he gets in the elevator, Eva wanted to go on too, she bangs on the door, it doesn't come back, she goes down the stairs, and Fern actually got the doors to open, sees she is gone, and goes.
Eva is at the doctor's office, and all the tests have come back on Eugenia. Seems she was on some kind of meds, and now she is off of them. Doc says he recommends a psychologist, cause basically there is nothing physically wrong with Eugenia. Eva almost flubbed up again, when she said how is my Mam, er Eugenia Mistrail, lol. The Doc tells Eva to talk to Modesto, cause Eugenia shouldn't just be sitting at home, there is help available. Eva says she'll talk to Modesto and explain the results. Eva takes the results and goes.
Fern has gone to see Candy Sweet about Kevin. He tells her he "found" a condom from Kevin, and wants to know what she's been doin' with him. Candy clarifies to him that nothing is goin' on with Kevin, yeah he came to see her, also sent her flowers, gave her poetry, but she let him down gently, and besides she has her ethics, he's a kid, and she don't do no kids. Candy informs Fern what Kevin is looking for isn't sex, it's lurrrvvve. Fern is like yeah, right. Candy says beleive what you want, but that's it. She closes the door in his face, and Fern knocks, but she ignores him.
Eva has gone to Mimi's and is JC again, he has taken off his wig. He has to go to the Cabellero home with the tests results, and he isn't looking forward to it, especially since Eva's last meeting with Modesto. JC is kicking himself for not paying attention to Eugenia's health.
Helena is now reading Antonia's thesis and Lucia comes in, complaining about Renato I think, and this thesis, I think doesn't have Helena's work in it. So now Helena thinks maybe Pluti is innocent and the fraudster was JC all along, Ruh Roh.
Onesimo, it seems, has become Rebeca's b!tch. He is loaded with bags and is complaining to Pluti. Pluti is pleased, he tells Onesimo, he gave Helena that fake thesis, and now everything just honky doorey. Rebeca comes in and wants to know what Onesimo is doing in Pluti's office, she wants all the stuff in her office, all Onesimo asks, Rebeca says yeah all, and close the door. Poor Onesimo has to use his foot to do that. Rebeca has brought some documents for Pluti to sign and by the way, she tells him, Pluti has a month in which to marry her, or else she will give all the low down dirty details to Adri, ALL of them. She wants to be an important Chachita to his Chachito, doncha know, and she gives him a little kiss, and Pluti is way pithed and she reminds him one month, honey and she goes. Pluti wipes his mouth.
Helena is still in her office talkin' to Lucia. She just can't beleive it, but wait, she still has that letter JC wrote her about his innocence, and Lucia is like what's the problem, and Pluti picks this time to come barging in Helena's office. He asks Lucia to leave so he can speak to Helena alone. He takes a seat.
Marcela comes into the office, and strangely, Fern is at work on the computer, but his wastebasket is full of paper. She says your working right. He says yeah, it's fine, blah blah. Then he gets to the point and asks her if that condom is really Kevin's. Marcela says yeah. Fern is hemming and hawing and finally tells Marcela ya know that chamaca that Kevin is in love with? Well it's Candy and Marcela isn't getting it, Candy??? A girl at school? Not Candy as in a young thang, but Candy Sweet! That's who that love letter was for. Marcela is like the sex worker???? She yells at him and hits his forhead and says this is ALL your fault. Fern looks greatly cowed.
Pluti is still in Helena's office and tells her he knows she is confused and doesn't want her to think bad of him. Note to Helena: Please think bad of him all you want, he's a low down dirty dog. And then he says he's sorry if he caused her any pain over this JC bidness. Then she tells Pluti that JC wrote her a letter, swearing his innocence, and Pluti gets the QTF look on his face, Ruh Roh., and this is why she is confused. Pluti wants to know if JC gave it to her before he died, and Helena says no, she got it from Eugenia, his Mama. Now Pluti wants to see this letter, but Helena won't give it to him, it's too private, and he gets that smarmy look on his face and sort of smiles and says now you know his Mama ain't right in the head. Helena says, yeah sometimes she's confused but not all the time. Pluti tries to convince Helena that Eugenia must have written it, and it's a lie that Helena and Lalito bought into. Helena goes to find out for sure and Pluti goes into the hallway and says no way JC wrote a letter, Pluti is so not likin' this.
Mimi and Eva come off the elevator and Adri is at the desk in front with the Evalettes and says he's got some papers for Eva in his office, he brushes against her and sniffs her. Ok, I have to say here, I have seen this constantly in TN's where guys sniff, scarves, hair, where a woman sat, what the hey is up with that? After he goes Eva, in a low Juan voice says, that Adri is trying to conquer Eva, as in you know. Eva now says it's a tatic of Casanova, lol. I think Mimi says it was something JC would have done, but now Eva will be susceptible to this kind of wooing. Eva is like no way.
Helena is at home seeing Lalito off to school and is still bothered by all the things Pluti said about JC fooling her. Silvia says remember he said he was from Argentina, with a fake name, and Luci is now agreeing that maybe Pluti is right! Silvia and Luci are worried about her.
Adri and Eva are in the office working late, and Eva's back is killing her and she wants to go home. Adri wants to have dinner, just the two of them,and Eva stands up to show him where it hurts on her back, he grabs her belt and sits her on his desk, he tries to put the moves on her, and she karate chops him, lol. He sits back down in his chair, lookin' scared while Eva expounds on the martial arts. She tells him she's tired and she's going, and he hides his face so he doesn't see her go, as she has asked him to do many times, not to look at her backside, and she goes. He just wants to die and hides under his desk.
Helena is reading that letter at home again and thought bubbling about JC. She cries. Now Helena thinks maybe JC lied to her and Silvia is crying too.
Modesto is trying to talk to Eugenia bout the "other family" and he's stuttering, and she's trying to ignore him, she has a book. He tries to tell her he loves her, but she isn't buying it. She knows he's been unfaithful and has another family. She says what women have to put up with from men, they cheat and lie. She throws her book. Helena has come in now and would like to see Eugenia. Modesto tells her Eugenia is indisposed and she's not seeing anyone. Helena hands Modesto the letter JC wrote to Eugenia and Modesto glances at it and tells Helena, JC didn't write it, it was Eugenia. Helena wants to be sure, and Modesto assures her, beleive him he says, this is the work of Eugenia. Helena thanks him and says sorry she bothered him, but he says no worries, and now Eva has come in. Helena wants to know why Eva is there.
Part II
Eva has come to give Eugenia's test results to Modesto, but plays it off as some type of cheque having to do with Antonia, may she rest in peace. Modesto is mad and says we have nothing to talk about, so Eva says fine, but check out these papers, they are very important and don't forget about Claudia and Carmen and that shuts Modesto's pie hole and Eva tells Helena let's go and they do. Modesto is left with the test results in his hand.
Fern and Marcela are at home, and Fern is on the sofa, reading the sports page, probably, while Marcela is still pithed about Kevin and the sex worker. So Fern tries to convince her Kevin is a good boy, and finally Marcela spills the frijoles that the condom didn't belong to Kevin but to Jennifer, and Fern is QUE? QUE? Fern is really pithed and wants to talk to Jennifer, but Marcela explains she only carried it, didn't use it, she's a good girl and nothing is going on with her boyfriend. Well about this time, both Kevin and Jennifer come in and want to know what is going on? Fern and Marcela say nothin'. The kids go and Marcela and Fern are both mad at the kids, and Marcela thinks they ought to have the "talk" with the kids in the morning. Fern is bothered by the fact that Jennifer is carrying a condom in her purse, she's just a girl and Marcela is bothered by the fact that Kevin is in love with Candy Sweet.
Santi and Angelica out to dinner, but not a fancy place this time, it looks like a taco stand. Santi is trying to explain the finances, how broke he is, it's not getting thru to Angelica. He wants Angelica to get a job! Well, she's not down with that. She's his wife, he has money, and Santi tries to tell her alot of women work but Angelica is still not down with that. She wants a party so she can meet all his friends. Plus she wants to meet his parents. Oh Ay yi yi. Angelica is drinkin' a beer and poor Santi is having water.
Eva and Helena have made it back to Helena's place and Silvia wants her to stay for a bit. Eva sits and Helena says she is happy with the Playa Project and talks about Pluti and makes faces and Helena says something back and touches her elbow, like patting it, do Eva and Helena have some secret sign with this elbow thingy? Anyway they have a fast convo, Helena goes to tuck Lalito into bed and Silvia tells Eva she is happy to be living with Helena and goes to get Eva some coffee. While Helena is tucking Lalito into bed, Pluti calls to make sure Helena is ok. She says she is, and tells him she is busy with Lalito and Pluti rolls his eyes and says give him a kiss for me. Jerk! Meanwhile, Eva is talking to Silvia and tells her she's glad she is standing firm in her decision to stay with Helena, and Silvia is happy with her new job, and Silvia is so glad for such a good friend as Eva. Eva wants to know what is bothering Helena so Silvia tells her it is about JC , she still misses him and also Lalito's problems at school about the dad thingy. Eva promises she won't spill the frijoles, she will take this to the tomb, or as I like to stay she is stickin' in the vault. Eva is going on about how special and romantic the love was between JC and Helena and starts her crying when Helena comes back out and Eva zips it. Now Eva yuks it up with Silvia and touches her elbow like Helena did earlier. Eva sneaks in to see Lalito, who is all curled up, looking like he's asleep. Eva goes to give him a kiss, and he jumps out at her and scares her to death, lol. They have a talk about parakeets, I think, how they gossip and lie, sort of like he did to his friends at school, and Lalito says he misses his Dad very much, but Eva basically says his Dad, doesn't matter where he is, is always in Lalito's heart.
Adri is on the phone, planning something and walks by Helena's office, thinking maybe Helena is still at work, but it is Mousse Boy, Renato with his nose to the grindstone so to speak. He gets up when Adri comes into the office and Adri tells him to sit back down. Adri notices that Renato has been working hard, cause we all know Renato wants a bump up, so to speak and Adri says that there was once a young, hard working executive that worked at G.I., was a boss too, and it was, wait for it, JC. Renato's face is priceless, and Adri basically tells him Renato won't be in this office long.
JC is back as himself at Mimi's and Mimi is rubbing his feet. He is wondering why Helena was at his parents' house. JC is worried about his plan to expose Pluti as the fraudster. Mimi thinks Eva will think of something. All of a sudden there is music coming from outside. It's a serenade, led by, wait for it, Oscar Cruz, with a band and Adri with a bouquet of roses. Mimi is looking out the window of the balconey and Adri calls up to Mimi and he tells Mimi to go get Eva. Mimi goes into the room and JC has got a pillow over his head and doesn't want to go out there, that Adriano. So Mimi goes back out and now Adri is singing with Oscar Cruz (He's the one that does the theme song for Abismo de Pasion with Alejandra Orozco). Mimi tries to convince Eva to go out, but JC won't go, so Mimi goes back out and Adri apologizes for the hour, but it's a serenade just for Eva, and Adri is throwing roses up at Mimi for Eva. Mimi is so excited that Oscar is there singing. Mimi catches a rose, blows a kiss at Adri and goes back inside. I don't know the name of the song Oscar is singing. So Mimi brings the rose to JC, who still doesn't want to go out, but says ya know what, and goes to the bathroom. Oscar has finished the song. Adri is so disappointed and throws the bouquet of roses on the street. Adri brings the band and Oscar inside and Mimi tells Adri this is so romantic and Oscar too. They start another song, I think it is called "Sin Ti" and Mimi is mouthing the words, along with Adri. Then all three start to sing, they sound really good. Well, here comes Eva, in rollers, with some hideous lookin' avacado mask on her face, and wearing a red bathrobe. Adri gives a shout and Eva starts giving him hell about this ridculous thing he's done, notices Oscar, picks him up in a hug, puts him down, gives Adri hell again, he says he's a parakeet? sort of the word Vicky, Vicky, Vicky used on Dinero for Rafa, and he's a gentleman doncha know and this serenade is just for her. Well for all his trouble, Eva pushes Adri into the cello player, Ha! Eva thinks he is there just to convince her to you know, and he says no, that's not what this is about. Anyhoo, he wants to prove otherwise, but Eva pushes the whole party out the door, and Mimi tells Eva that Adri is in love with Eva. Eva is like I guess he is. And this mask is just starting to melt all over Eva's face, she has some on her lip.
Breakfast at Marcela and Fern's house with all of them at the table. The kids look pretty pithed and noone is eating. Marcela is trying to get them eat something, but noone is cooperating. The kids both leave the table, while Fern and Marcela are trying to figure out a way to start the "talk", the kids overhear and decide to do something so they come back. Kevin tells them he won't go looking for Candy anymore, and he'll try to find a girl at school he likes. Fern is so happy, that's my boy, like his dad, yeah right. So Jennifer says, you want me to be a virgin all my life, send me to a convent and I'll become a nun! But she says this tongue in cheek, which of course flies right over Fern's head, but not Marcela's. Marcela says she's kidding, but Fern is really beleiving it. He thinks it would be great if Jennifer were a nun, as if. The kids go.
Mimi and Eva are talking in Eva's office and she's concerned about Eugenia, Eva that is, so she decides to go visit Modesto. She tries to talk to Modesto about Eugenia's results but he doesn't want to talk to her and tells her to go, he's even going to call security. Modesto doesn't like the fact, Eva is in Eugenia's bidness. Eva is very bothered and goes.
Rebeca runs into Mousse Boy in the hallway again, and she drops the papers she has, and he informs her he soon will have his own office, he's thinking of what Adri told him the night before. Rebeca thinks it's funny, a barrio boy dreams, and and Renato says it's true according to your boss. He goes and Rebeca mimicks him behind his back.
Rebeca goes to Pluti's office again with more paperwork and they talk about the Playa again, and Rebeca reminds him again, one month is all he's got to marry her. She says she'll spill everything, so he has one month more of silence or he can face the consequences. She shashays out of the room and tells him so little time and she goes.
Mimi and Eva back in Eva's office and she's upset Modesto didn't want to listen and is kicking herself for not paying attention to Eugenia's health, till now. One of the Evalettes comes in to summon Eva to Adri's office.
Lucia and Helena in Helena's office still talking about JC, and how Helena can't beleive all this stuff about him, blah, blah.
Adri and Eva going over more paperwork and Adri is staring at Eva talkin about how she intrigues him and he feels for her so profoundly and Eva isn't buying it, he's such a macho, and all he wants is her body,and she shakes her fake boobies at him and he seems to be enjoying the view, lol. He is holding his chest, and says no it's not about that at all. He really has feelings for Eva. Eva thinks it's only about passion. He asks if she wants proof, that he's changed and she says oh, yeah, yeah. Eva says this bidness if full of machoes, the girls work like dogs, you get the pic. So Adri picks up the phone and politely asks Cindy to please have Helena and Pluti come to his office. Eva still isn't beleiving it. So Pluti and Helena come into the office and Adri asks Helena if she really wants Lucia to be her assistant. Helena says yeah, but Pluti gave her Renato, so Adri says if you want Lucia you got her, Note to Renato: It sucks to be you, and Pluti is pithed, he so doesn't want that, but Adri says I'm in charge here and whatever I say goes. And furthermore today he is going to start listening to the workers, humhum he keeps making that sound Eva makes, lol. Helena thanks him. Now Pluti is wondering why he's there, and Adri says you know those hundred women we let go, well we are hiring them back. Pluti is so not happy and starts to get on Eva's case, and Eva says this is up to Adri, not Pluti, Ha! Pluti is yelling no way this is gonna happen. He did bring up the fact that in order to get the Playa project, financially they had to let these women go. Well, anyways now there is a three way argument with Adri, Eva and Pluti yelling and Helena yells over them to quit already. Pluti says it's just not feasible. He asks the ladies to leave so he can talk to Adri alone. Once alone with Adri, Pluti is yelling you put me in charge of the finances for this company, you have no faith in me, contradict me, Adri tells him to come up with a plan to get those hundred women back already. Pluti isn't happy. Pluti wants to know why Adri is being so generous all of a sudden. Adri starts singing he's in love. Pluti grins real big and says is it someone I know? He says yes, you know the young woman,and he's says it's Eva Maria Leon Jaramillo viuda de Zuloaga! Pluti has his mouth open like he is catching flies!

JC is trying to get rid of his body hair, cause he is goin' to the Playa.
Pluti puts the moves on Helena at the Playa while Eva spies on them!

Hey, JudyB, do you cringe every time Eva says, "Ay, uh-huh!" as if you're having some sort of PTSD reaction?
Oh, and the Moondance part of the title of course is from Van Morrison. The song was playing as I was typing the recap and I couldn't resist.
PAULA..I pretty much cringe at anything Eva says...it's so "Miss Piggy" as someone pointed out. But I'm enjoying the turgid romance with Adriano.The physical comedy there is outstanding, and Jaime has the woman moves down pat.
MADS....Lordy, woman, you put a lot of work in on this. You must have been typing for hours. And actually, I like the italics font. Rather fetching. Haven't watched this yet, but your description of the mariachi serenade certainly makes me want to.
Normally, I'm not out at night, but a student from Columbia talked me into going to a Spanish restaurant downtown and I ended up speaking Spanish for 3 hours! (okay...Truth....I asked leading questions and listened for three hours, occasionally adding some like "no me digas'...verdad?...que rico." Works for me!

Thanks for the detailed recap--and for two episodes! I am so glad I checked on this site yesterday so I knew to tape for both episodes.

Is anyone suspicious of those papers Rebecca had Pluto sign? He didn't look, he just signed them. And both times she threatened him, marry me or I spill the beans. I wonder if Pluto signed something incriminating?
Rebecca is no innocent kitten. It would be thoroughly irrational of her to threaten Pluto like that, with out some "life insurance" - solid evidence against Pluto, in the hands of a 3rd party, in case she dies or disappears. But due to bulletproof plot armor, I'm sure that hasn't occurred to her.

Paula- I'm with you about those papers. He never really even glanced at them. I don't know how much Rebeca knows, but she was there the night Antonia died and she knows how that happened. I think if she were to go to Adri and really press the point, Adri would never look at Pluti the same way again. That is the only thing she knows for sure so let's see how that unfolds. That's a very good point you brought up.
Judy-thanks so much, it actually didn't take that long. With this one I try to condense, but there was so much good info in both these epi's I went a little longer than I wanted to. This one is so funny and I really loved the serenade. You should really watch that part, who knew Adri could be so romantic?
Jarifa-thank you. I've only heard Oscar sing on Abismo, I hadn't heard his music before, but I loved the song "Sin Ti". It was wonderful and I wish they could have done the whole song, all three of them Oscar, Mimi and Adri. The harmony was quite good. I am a sucker for old classic songs.

Eva's karate move on Adri was too funny. Also cracked up with the gooey green masque when she came to greet Oscar and Adri. Loved the serenade. I'm a sucker for serenades and have a narrow front porch overlooking a hilly slope--just made to order for a serenade, if someone would oblige.
Lots of other stuff to keep track of--Eugenia, Renato, Pluti, Fern and Santi. I'm counting on Rebeca to keep Pluti and Helena apart.

Unlike the other two TNs I've watched, the back stories to this one are actually very interesting. They focus on Mutt and Jeff, and I'm enjoying them as much as the main story. Sexism, ageism, and now classism. They're covering it all. I especially liked when Kevin told his parents he was going to sleep with all the girls at school and Jennifer told them she will be a nun. Fernando thought these were wonderful ideas, while Marcela tried to point out to him the kids were being sarcastic.
The stuff with Adriano and Eva is priceless. I'm laughing all the time at their physical comedy- facial expressions, body language, physical interactions. They are playing it perfectly. I about lost it when Eva stuffed Adriano's tie into his mouth.

Bill thanks so much for what I missed when Kevin said that about sleeping with all the girls in school. No wonder Fern was over the moon, lol. I too like the Adri/Eva physical comedy. Too funny and this seduction with tie was a hoot. I don't know what that gesture is called with the two fingers pointing to the eyes like I'm watching you, maybe one of our commenters knows what it is called. I love when Eva does it, it is too funny.

I have a theory about Santi and Angi. I think when she finds out he is broke she will reveal that they were not in fact married in Las Vegas. He has no memory of that night so she could have just made it up. This will allow Santi to be with his true love, probably Lucia. Happy ending for them both!

Mil in NC- You are so right. This was the letter JC wrote and stuck in the picture for Eugenia to find. Modesto played it off the first time too, and said JC couldn't have written it. Modesto barely glanced at the letter when Helena gave it to him to look at. I bet if she had shown it to Pluti, who would have known for sure that JC wrote it, he would have tried to get it away from her and burned it just like he did Antonia's thesis. It seems to me that Modesto and Pluti want to erase the last "memory" of JC from both Helena and Eugenia.
Late to the party here, but thanks for the great recap! Excellent retelling, even juicier than the viewing.
About the elbow gesture...
"Ser del codo" means to be stingy or cheap. So the elbow patting was a commentary on how cheap Eva is to continue living at the boarding house even now that she's making more money.

Julia-thanks for the elbow gesture explaination. Now it makes sense to me cause I know they brought up why Eva was still living in the pension with Mimi, lol. Eva would be lost without Mimi. So that is the cheapskate signal. lol.
