Amor Bravío #74 (Uni 69) Thu 11/29/12 Amor Verboso

Agustina comes to see Camila, thinking she's concerned about Andres having escaped from the hospital.  Camila fakes like she doesn't care.  Augie thinks after what Leo did, Andres won't want anything more to do with the ranch.  She's crowing over how her superawesome husband helped capture that terrible Leoncio!  Yeah, yeah, Cam heard it from the cops.  Agustina says she doesn't justify what Leo did to Luzma or to Andres, but Andres was getting to big for his britches and it was only a matter of time before Leo wanted to put him in his place.  She smarms on and on about how Camila had this coming-- taking on a lover while she was still married, and him being a nobody who was probably just looking for a good time and wanting to see what it was like to have an affair with the boss lady.  Camila screams at her that she loved Andres, damnit, and her marriage was only ever on paper, and hey, how about that--her ex is now shacked up with her sister, but it's cool, cause the dumbass finally signed the divorce papers--and it's not like she wanted to have her mother's story, to have Luis die on her and Alonso cheat on her, and now Andres has disappointed her…well, like Dionisio is disappointing Augie, right?  Agustina denies that he is.  "Oh, right, so you're saying he's still the same guy you fell for?"  Augie is adamant that he is.  Camila finally tells her to get out, but Augie has one last barb to throw…"Andres doesn't deserve you, so be thankful he left!  And now I'll go.  Call me if you need anything."  Pobre de Camila.  And pobre de mi!  I was waiting for all that yelling and screaming to wind down so I could summarize it…sheesh!  It was the never-ending tirade!

Augie reports back to Dio that Andres hasn't gotten in contact with Camila.  Dio supposes Cam must be feeling humiliated by that chauffeur.  Agustina says he deceived them all.  "You'll never betray me, will you, my love?"  Dio pours on the smarm so he can make faces behind her back.

Luzma brings Camila some dinner.  She says she knows it's not a good time, but she needs to tell Camila something, since Camila's so upset about being lied to.  She tells her that the guy whose body was found, Julian, was her uncle.  She overheard her mother and Leo talking about it and says that Leo told her mother not to tell anyone that the dead guy was her ex-boyfriend's brother or they would suspect her.  "But I think my uncle Leoncio killed him."  Camila says that Luzma and Piedad need to go tell the cops what they know tomorrow.  She doesn't think Piedad will end up being arrested and she plans to go with them in any case.

Alonso is getting dressed to go out…at night…. Xime's not happy about this.  And not happy that he won't tell her where he's going and what for.  Aww, isn't that sweet…they're already fighting over how Xime's trying to be "controlling" and Alonso's keeping things from her.

Augie is having dinner with Francisco.  He picks on her because Dionisio isn't having dinner with them.  He reminds her that he never neglected her.  In fact, they got along quite well in bed.  Ew!  Gross, dude, I don't want to think about either one of you doing the deed, much less the two of you doing it with each other!  She tells him to shut it, but he says that if she wants to keep living there, in his son's house, she'll have to put up with his "impertinence."  I pray that impertinence stays verbal.  She storms off and he tells the empty dinner table that she always used to be the one with the money, but now, now he is the lord and master of all he surveys and everyone will bow to him and blah, blah, blah, I'm so delusional, pass the tortillas.

Dionisio comes face to face with Fake!Andres.  Aaron shakes his hand and holds on as he says it's about time they saw each other face to face and told each other the truth.  Dio claims he's going to spill ALL the frijoles and prove it was Alonso and Isadora who set everything up, included the murder attempt in Chile.

Salomon and Alonso meet in the airport bar.  Salomon says he was Alonso's dad's lawyer and knows all his secrets. "You're the son of your dad and the maid."  No, he's not that direct.  Which is why Alonso at first thinks Salomon is talking about him having a half-brother.  Salomon says that Isadora was pretty much sold to his father and forced to adopt him as a son.  "She hates you as much as she hated your father.  I don't have any proof, but I think she killed him."  Alonso's all hot under the collar and has to strip down to his shirtsleeves…the horrors!  He thinks Salomon has some ulterior motive, but Salomon just wants to clear his conscience before he flees the country--and that's Isadora's fault, by the way.  "She made me make a false will under your wife's name, then she made me draw up a power of attorney so some dude could claim another dude's inheritance, even though that's not legal."   Alonso is baffled that Salomon would do something that could get him into so much trouble.  "Your mom had me by the balls.  She knew that I fake-witnessed her signature on your birth certificate because your dad gave me a bunch of money.  So she didn't 'ask' me to do it so much as she MADE me.  And then Becerra got hold of it and that guy is implacable, so now I've gotta leave the country."  Salomon says that if Alonso doesn't believe him, he can always get Isa to submit to a medical exam to prove she's never had a child…or he could do a DNA test…or he could just trust that gut instinct that tells him that she's never loved him.

Dio is checking out Vivi's to make sure they're alone there.  Team Good is recording the conversation, though.  Aaron wants to know why Dio is so interested in La Malquerida.  Dio says he's been interested in buying it as a tourist development, but Don Daniel refused to sell it.  Aaron accuses him of trying to get it using other tactics.  Dio says he looked for another ranch, but he got a call from Alonso, who told him that he was marrying Camila and that they both wanted to sell the ranch, which Don Daniel had bestowed upon them while he was still living.  Aaron explodes that that's bull!  Camila never wanted to sell the ranch.  Dio admits he knows that now, but he didn't know it at the time.  Alonso swore him to secrecy so that Don Daniel wouldn't find out.  Aaron accuses "them" of trying to have him killed when they found out that Camila wasn't the heir, but Dio swears it wasn't "them" it was just Alonso.  Let's see how far he can take the "Alonso did it" defense.

Salomon explains that he thinks Isadora killed her husband because she hated him for sticking her with a kid and then running around behind her back, screwing anything that held still long enough and wasting all his money.  He points out the coincidence that he died just after Isadora found out the money was all gone and just when she happened to have given all the staff the night off.  And there are a lot of untraceable ways to trigger a heart attack.  "Plus, I asked her once if she did it and she just gave me that cooooold look…you know the one."  Alonso does, indeed, and starts nibbling on his nails to prove it.  "I really am sorry, Alonso, but I couldn't keep quiet about your birth and your father's death.  And now I've got a plane to catch."  Alonso asks for his mother's real name "Rosario Sanchez.  Some people called her Chayo or Chayito.  No one's heard from her since your father ripped you from her arms."

Aaron calls BS on Dio.  "Quit making it sound like you're such a saint!  I'm not an idiot!"  Dio says he was only going to be involved after the completion of the project, when it came time to sell the development, not during the building phase.  "Why would I have wanted to kill you?  I have a copy of the contract.  The only signature there is Alonso's.  If he didn't deliver the ranch or pay the fine, he'd be the one going to jail.  He's the only one with something to lose."  Aaron keeps pressing him.  "Why was it one of your guys who came to try to kill me in Chile?  Who killed my wife and child?  Cause I know Julian's your trusted hand."  Dio swears Julian did it behind his back and he only found out later.  He says that he even went to try to see Daniel in prison, at Camila's request, and ended up talking to his brother-in-law Abraham.  "I was there the night you broke out."  Aaron says the rest of it may all be true, but there is one thing he can't deny.  "You gave Andres orders to shoot me on sight.  So you, Alonso, and Isadora are all the same to me--a trio of killers!"

Isadora peruses a book with info about Buenaventura (which I still want to translate as "a Fun Roll in the Hay" despite the book spelling it this way) and Cayetano.  She figures he's about the age Alonso's dad would have been, so why not sacrifice herself.  She remembers him smiling at her and says "Oh, yeah, he wanted to tap that!"

Dio says the same thing happened to him.  He was tricked.  "But that's why I'm talking to you now.  I thought you were a killer and I needed to defend the woman I loved and her family."  Dio says once Julian was dead, Alonso's story started to fall apart.  Aaron brings up the death certificate and says the death certificate was mailed to him, so he handed it over, but he found out Alonso and Julian faked it.  He swears he didn't know what Alonso and Isadora were planning.  He claims that if his conscience wasn't clear, he wouldn't be able to face him like this.  "I want justice, just like you do.  What can I do to make sure Alonso and Isadora pay for what they've done to you?"

Alonso is in shock, sitting at the bar.  He orders a bottle, which the waiter tries to deny him, as they only serve by the glass, but Alonso bullies him into it.

Aaron tells Dio he has to think and he'll get in touch with him when he's made a decision.  Dio swears he won't find any evidence against him because they're both innocent.  Before he leaves, he brings up the power of attorney.  "I needed to buy time and test alliances.  Isadora and Alonso contacted him behind your back, didn't they?"  Dio says it's more proof of his innocence.  He offers Aaron the advice not to trust his "father"--assuming Francisco really is his father.  Aaron says Don Daniel was under the impression that he was the true BioDad, so that remains to be seen.  Dio takes his leave, finally, and Aaron snatches up the mini-recorder and calls Rafael.

Daniel, feverish, is moaning Camila's name in his sleep.  She goes to get some more antibiotics as he continues to mumble, "Miriam, don't die," and "Camila, stay with me."  Camila injects him and says this would be easier if she didn't love him so much.  She remembers meeting him at the café, seeing him in front of Vivi's.  She thinks he'd planned all that.  "How'd you fake your kisses, cause they sure tasted real to me!  Who are you!"  She remembers kissing him in the rain, shagging him in her bed….  She sits next to him on the bed and says "If you'd wanted to tell me the truth, you would have insisted on doing it."  She kisses him on the forehead and says she loves him, but she just can't deal with this life.

Pablo and Mariano come into the kitchen at La Malquerida.  Pablo gets a big hug from Luzma.  Mariano tells her to start calling him "Mariano" since she's practically his sister-in-law.  He wants to leave them alone and go see Camila, but Luzma says that Camila went to bed early.  Mariano says he'll go home, then, and tells Pablo to call him when he wants to be picked up.  "And be thinking about where you want to have your honeymoon, cause it's on me!"  Pablo and Luzma snog.  She admits she's not sorry about what happened to her uncle.  Pablo wants to focus on the two of them and set a wedding date already.  Luzma says she's been "his" since the first time she kissed him.

Alonso continues to work on cultivating a drunken stupor as he ruminates on Salomon's words.  He remembers a young Isadora telling the maid to serve Alonso the same soup every day from now on after he told her he didn't like it.  She screams at him to finish it.  He remembers her yelling at him that boys don't cry and he should stop missing his father because his father is dead.  She pushes him away to keep him from hugging her.  He remembers losing a race at school and having her tell him he's a loser and he always will be.  He toasts Isadora "The best actress and mother in Mexico" and laughs manically.

Rafael and Vivi listen to the recording.  Vivi laughs at how easily Dio washes his hands of everything.  Aaron agrees, but Dio has an answer for everything.  "Of course I didn't believe him, but there's no proof!"  Rafa wondered why, if he was willing to turn in Alonso, he didn't also rat out Isadora for Padre Baldy's murder or for Camila's little "accident" with the bull.  Vivi thinks they need to take the recording to Daniel and see what he makes of it.  Aaron thinks that even though Cam is hurting, she's a good person and she'll help them.  Vivi and Rafa look doubtful.

Camila crawls into bed with Daniel, but pulls herself away and camps out on her divan instead.

Daniel wakes up to see Camila sleeping on the divan.  He tells her she's pretty when she wakes up.  "You had a fever."  "Yeah, but you took care of me.  It was my fault you slept badly."  Camila says his fever is gone.  Daniel gets out of bed to go to the bathroom, but he's a little conveniently dizzy.  Camila grumpily starts walking him to the bathroom, resisting his attempts to smooch her.

Camila brings in supplies to change Daniel's bandages.  Daniel tells her he knows she loves him, even though she's pissed off right now.  Camila says she's only taking care of him the way she would anyone else.  "I'm not 'just anybody'.  I explained it all to you!  What would you have done in my shoes?  I know I did things I shouldn't have."  He brings up their previous shagging and says he luuuuurves her, his luuuuurve is real, they belong together, they have a soul connection.  He dares her to love him the way he loves her.  Camila tries to ignore him and start changing his bandages.  Daniel stops her and says he won't leave her until she accepts that they're connected.  "Don't fight it!"  He begs her for the opportunity to live their love…but will they snog?

Tomorrow: Daniel wants to drive a wedge between Alonso and Isadora; Alonso thinks he can't be free until (mumble, mumble, mumble); Dio tells Isadora she has to choose between him and Alonso; Daniel wants to keep fighting for Camila's luuuuuuurve.

So much talk, talk, talk tonight! And me nearly brain-dead after our one-and-only rehearsal for this weekend's pops concerts. Keep a good thought for me, peeps, I'm going to need it!

Thanks for the great recap, 5ft Latina. And you're right, so much talk, talk, talk. I hope the writers don't have Cami saying, "Quien eres?" for another episode. It's becoming a very unpleasant mantra, imo.

Buena suerte this weekend, 5ft!

Great recap Kat! And despite being tired, you gave us quite a lot of detail.

Maybe it's jus me, but I enjoy that period when the galan has to use all his seduction tricks to win the heroine over or win her back. All those near kisses and smoldering glances. It's not like we don't know she'll eventually give in. Cami was finding it hard to resist him even when he was asleep and his head fell gently on hers. And she couldn't resist smiling when she noted his fever had broken. Then that whole, I'm too dizzy to go to the bathroom by myself, and oh, it's so much easier for me to walk holding you just so...ha! Go Dan, go.

I laughed when Cami stumbled out of the divan, all grouchy, crumpled, and tangled in the blanket. SN played that perfectly.

Now, for the real developments last night. Al finally knows the truth of his origins and has finally accepted that Isa hates him. This should make the game interesting. But it looks like Dio, and likely Isa, are setting him up to be the fall guy, just as it seems he's ready to break away from them. This won't be pretty.

Dio is very good at what he does. He leaves no real clues behind that he's behind all these crimes. It's going to be really hard for the Justice League to get real evidence against him.

Good work, Kat, and break a leg!

Vivi, it will be hard, but not impossible. Daniel has seen Leoncerdo at El Diablo's lair. I've never heard police in novelas talk about LUDs, but if this is done in Mexico (and I don't see why it wouldn't be) someone should be able to backtrack phone calls between El Diablo and Julian around the time of the attempt on Daniel's life.

Of course, this may have to wait until Teresa clears up Daniel's legal problems in Chile.

Alonssso's origins are interesting; I've always suspected that Hissadora killed her husband and it looks like she didn't wait all that long. I wonder whether there was a life insurance policy on him.

I am still not inclined to have any sympathy for him. He has either a law or a business degree; he could have gotten away from Hissadora a long time ago, gone to D.F., gotten well-employed, and had a great life. He's not gorgeous but he can talk a good game and join a health club.

So what is he still doing with Mommie Direst, anyway? I can't wait to see him confront her.

GAAACK! I did an AB catch-up marathon last night (except I fell asleep in last nights episode), and I must say I am totally grossed out by Isadora's tongue cutting trick while loving Leticia Calderon.

After Rocio, Isa with her cute shape and beautiful eyes and fake sweetness will be appealing to Cayetano. Dare we say it is his ....Destino?

Looking forward to reading your recap , 5 ft. Thanks for putting in the effort amidst your busy life

Kat, thanks for great recap of a very verbal episode. Break a leg in the pops concert.

Vivi - Watching Cam vacillate b/t loving and hating Dan was funny and SN did a wonderful job of being grumpy.

ITA gathering evidence on Dio will be tough but Amanda may be able to assist in his un-masking.

UA - thanks for giving me a laugh:
"So what is he still doing with Mommie Direst, anyway?" His confrontation with her looks good but in the long run I think he is no match for her or Dio.

RlaO - Cayetano's destiny indeed. It's too bad most TN men don't realize deadly women immediately.

Let's talk about how vile Augustina was last night:

--telling Camila that Andres only slept with her to get a chance to sleep with the big boss lady and he's likely lost interest in her

--(I think) telling Camila she was acting like a slut by sleeping with Andres

--telling Camila that Andres was getting too big for his britches (how?)...implying he deserved what Leoncio did to him

First off, who says this to their CHILD? That they had heartbreak coming by acting like a slut with the chofer? Why isn't Augustina similarly reaming out Ximena for sleeping with her sister's husband? Augustina is MORE MAD at Camila for sleeping with the chofer* than she is with Ximena for sleeping with Camila's HUSBAND!

Augustina's rant to Camila about Andres was not a mother being concerned about her child. Her rant was about a woman one-upping another woman.

Next, Mr. FX said that a) they had fun sexy times in bed and b) she lorded her money over him but look how the script has now been flipped**. I wonder how Augustina & FX met, and if FX was a con artist when he met her or got tired of her and decided to take off with her money.

We already know FX was (is) a bum because Agatha stepped out on him and they divorced, with FX leaving baby Dan behind, but did he swindle Agatha too?

*Augustina will choke for sure when she finds out the chofer is actually the real dueno of the ranch. She still won't like Daniel though.

**Uh FX? The reason Augustina has no money now is BECAUSE OF YOU.

5ft--You have my permission to talk your way out of a paper bag--in Spanish, anytime. Terrific recap. I heard all the emotions through your written words.

Among my favorite zingers:
>Aww, isn't that sweet…they're already fighting over how Xime's trying to be "controlling" and Alonso's keeping things from her.

>I pray that impertinence stays verbal.

>Alonso continues to work on cultivating a drunken stupor as he ruminates on Salomon's words

As to the Daniel/Camila convo. The only line you left out must have hurt Daniel too much (you were being kind)...when he was saying she took care of him...Cami said, I'm a vet, I take care of animals, I couldn't do any less for a human. Ouch. No Uffs in that statement. At least Viewerville knows she still loves him, so we got a little crumb, even though Dan was out cold.

Can't wait to see the Team Daniel assembled and ready to go with the new recorded information. How many of us thought at first that it was Dio making the recording? It wasn't clear until Dio picked up his briefcase and opened it, then closed it.

Here we go again with some more Fun-Roll-in-the-Hay rancho secrets stuff. Hissy is thinking to herself that Caye is about the same age as her difunto husband. We see Alonso getting the skinny on his real mother and her name is Rosario.....Hmmm, do we know anyone else whose name could have been Rosario before she married up? Naaah, too much like Refugio and Rosa/Roselena. However, I certainly believe these writers took a page out of Gala's parenting style book. Missing Refugio already.

Arriba y adelante con Amor Verboso.
Anita

Anon207- ITA. And yes, Gussy did call Camila a cualquiera (slut). It was interesting the parallels Cami drew between her and Gussy's love lives:
Love #1 (Cami's Dad, Luis) dies young.
Man #2 (FX, Al) turns out to have married her for money, betrayed her, and ends in divorce.
And Man #3 (Dion, Dan) turns out to be lying about his intentions and his identity.

Of course, we know Dan is good and Dion is bad, but it's still an interesting bit of symmetry. (Does Becerra=Mariano?)

Anita- I thought they were purposely messing with our minds about who was recording whom too.

Anon207, you are so right on the money. Camila should give Augustiina the cut direct for everything she said last night. I am actually thinking that Augustina should have a very humiliating ending in this story.

Kat: Thanks so much for the too funny recap.

Laugh out loud moments:

“Ew! Gross, dude, I don't want to think about either one of you doing the deed, much less the two of you doing it with each other! “

“and blah, blah, blah, I'm so delusional, pass the tortillas.”

Gripe: CdlF is playing the his part well. During the confession scene in the previous ep and the scenes with Cam last night, he’s kept his voice low—just like a weak, sick person would. So maybe the music director could lower the volume on the song so I could actually HEAR what he had to say? Granted, I don’t know Spanish well, but I can get a few words, but not when I CAN’T HEAR THEM!!!!

Agustina’s anvil is becoming more and more deserved.

Bad Lawyer Guy (who looks really familiar) has set Os up for a (near) death experience.

I think Cam has forgiven him, she’s just not ready to tell him so.

So we know Al’s birth mother’s name. Wonder if she’ll be joining the gang soon.

Anon207: “Augustina is MORE MAD at Camila for sleeping with the chofer* than she is with Ximena for sleeping with Camila's HUSBAND!” Amen!

Love the sheets/blanket set on Cam’s bed.

UA: Vivi’s earrings remind me of your fans. They aren’t fans, but shaped like them.

Nanette

Anon207 - ITA on your assessment of Gussie. What sane person says that to their child? But we know she's a fool. The worst part about her latest rant is how she tries to be so sanctimonious when just like Rocio, its all about class to her. She hasn't given Xi half the grief that she has Cam. While she hasn't been completely psycho, I would love if Cam wrote her off at the end.

Vivi - Great list of parallels b/t Gussie and Cam. Too Gussie is so hateful to her daughter.

UA - Gussie's anvil can't come soon enough for me and as you said her comeuppance needs to involve her gaining humility. Her fake piety and lack of class are so annoying.

5ft - Muchas gracias. Sooo funny. My favorite: “…now he is the lord and master of all he surveys and everyone will bow to him and blah, blah, blah, I'm so delusional, pass the tortillas.”

Now that Al knows the truth, he's got a chance to redeem himself. If he were smart, he'd hold off on Hissadora knowing. Can't help it, I felt sorry for him when he asked for the name of his real mother. No excuse for the way he treated Camila, but Hissadora has been torturing and twisting him into a weak mess since his birth.

Anon207, you are (AS ALWAYS) right on the mark!

Also agree with the Anthropologist that the ridiculously foolish Augustina is deserving of much humiliation in the end. Not exactly mother material, that one.

Thanks so much, Kat, for another superb recap. I too enjoyed your "I'm so delusional, pass the tortillas," and also your noting that Alonso does indeed remember Hissadora's icy look "and starts nibbling on his nails to prove it." El pobre Alone-so.

Unlike some commenters, I never thought that Dio had brought the tape recorder to his meeting with "Daniel," but I was on edge through their entire meeting, fearing that Dio would spot the recorder or accidentally come upon it when he put his briefcase down. I think I gave a stronger sigh of relief than Aaron when Dio finally left.

Karen, I thought you made an excellent point about Amanda's potential role in bringing Dio down.

Anita, I'm not sure whether your question about anyone else originally named Rosario was rhetorical, but until you asked, it hadn't occurred to me that Rocio could have been named Rosario until she married up. Nana has already made it clear that Rocio's early situation wasn't all that different from Luz Maria's. Good god,if that's true, poor Alone-so: moving from Mama Hissadora to Mama Snob.

Again, many thanks, Kat, and good luck this weekend.

Yes, it was rhetorical. I just wasn't sure if I was giving anything away.

Didn't Augustina tell Ximena or someone else that Ximena was dead to her?

Great recap. Endangered anything my coffee threatened to hit as I was laughing this am.

Camila not only said she was a vet and treated animals, it looked like she was using a bull syringe on Dan.

Cindy

Thanks Kat for a terrific recap. There was indeed an unusual amount of dialogue and you explained it well.

Am I the only one who has any sympathy for Alonso? That playback of the trauma, abuse and lack of affection that he endured under Isa’s parenting was heart wrenching and obviously left him emotionally scarred for life. Without therapy, poor guy never had a chance. IMO he is to be pitied more than hated.

Foxy- I pity Al too, up to a point-- up to the point where he tries to swindle and rape Camila. In other words, up to the point where he tries to hurt innocent people. He can be emotionally scarred and stunted, and NOT hurt other people. He has to take responsibility for his own actions there. But other than that, I feel terrible for him. Growing up with Isa looks like it was hell.

Cindy- Yeah, Gussy said that to Dio, but she never said it to Xi's face or called Xi a slut the way she did Cami.

Foxy, Yes, Al does deserve some pity, but his greed is overshadowing everything. He was in it for the money, until he made the big booboo of falling in love with Camila--something his mama kept reminding him when she was planning to do away with Camila.

Poor thing, without mama at the airport watering hole, I was so tempted to reach through the screen and slap his fingers away from his mouth.

So why is he still with her? He's an adult, presumably an educated one. He knows how to dress well, he is well-spoken, he has a name that once meant something. He could have done well on his own.

Thanks 5ft!! Good luck with your performance!! Loved your whole recap, but LOL at this part:
“…now he is the lord and master of all he surveys and everyone will bow to him and blah, blah, blah, I'm so delusional, pass the tortillas.”
(Totally cracking up at the "pass the tortillas" part.) -- Love those brand placements!

My nickname for this episode was "SHE LOVES HIM!" It looked like Camila was holding onto Daniel's foot while she slept. I love it that she wears "regular people" pajamas and a robe.

Daniel looked so sick ... he was kind of a white/green ... and then yesterday, he had some of his color back so we knew that he was getting better. The way that he was holding onto Camila after she helped him out of bed was sweet and kind of sexy actually.

My favorite line was when Daniel said something like "I may have worn a mask, but my heart didn't wear a mask, my soul didn't wear a mask." I told my husband about that one and he said, "yeah, that was good."

Juanita --> wow, what a conjecture about Rocio possibly being Rosario. Wouldn't that be something ... Alonso as Rosario's son? Whoa!

And yes, I noticed Isa flirting with Cayetano, and how he was falling all over himself (in a subtle way). She was funny when she kept saying "He likes me, he likes me." (5ft's version was hilarious: "Oh, yeah, he wanted to tap that!") LOL!!!!!

Rafa, Vivi, and Aaron need to have several copies of that tape. One needs to go to Osvaldo for safe keeping.

I actually felt a little bit sorry for Alonso. He was a sad little boy. So sad, so unfair.

Agustina's questioning was bad enough, but I was really sad to see her running back to Dionisio with the outcomes - indicating that she was doing some of the berating so that she could report back to him. So sad. Bad mother Gussie, bad mother!

At separation stage - i'm usually fine with it so long as it's well motivated. i'm sort of 50-50 on this one - I can get Cam's point of view on matters, but I don't quite buy why she wasn't told at some point what was up by the good guys -- especially after there was an actual murder attempt made on Camila's life. So that's a little shaky plot wise for me.

Still, this is an enjoyable novela. silvia Navarro is just so free and loose in her acting, so confident, she's breezing through this stuff. The villains are fun too, and I like all the plotting and counter plotting going on.

Two-thirds of this show are so much fun; I don't quite understand what's gone wrong with the storylines involving the other ranch - the stuff with Rene Strickler and his brothers, which I find terribly dull and conventional. It's like that stuff is out of a different, worst novela. Maybe Isadora setting eyes on the patriarch of that family will inject some life in that part of the show.

I did have to laugh at Alonso's mommy never loved me flashback montage, especially the race one. "You're a loser, you'll always be a loser." And those were the happy memories.

UA--Could it be that Hissy has just forced herself on him and he doesn't know how to shake her loose? For the sake of the story we have to accept that he didn't. There are conflicted boys out there who remain mama's boys far into adulthood, but probably not this sick a relationship--but who knows, I don't. I remember seeing Hissy take his hand a couple of times when they got up to leave Malquerida--who does THAT with a grown son. She's one sicko. Yeah, slapping his hand away when he chewed his nails, ok, moms don't like to see their kids with bad habits, but...again, she's a sicko.

Although she and Dio were the ones to talk him into making a play for Camila to get ahold of Malquerida, they have said several times that Dio was Alonso's friend, not Isadoras--but then that could be another lie. Dio and Isadon'tadoreha might have planned this all waaaay in advance and Dio approached Alsoslow without knowing anything about the two of them. Maybe their sucking face and tingo tangoing in Dio's place in Aculco or Metepec or wherever that was, was their first time.

netgirl--that was me suggesting the Rosari-Rocio connection. It does open up another can of worms, doesn't it. I think it'll end up being a can of worms. If Al IS Rocio's, then he'd have to be older than Mariano--hmmm, I wonder now, they could be about the same age and if Al was taken away from her at birth, she could have had time to meet Cayetano, gotten married to him, and gotten pregnant right away, so maybe 18-24mos. between them??

I meant it'll end up being a red herring (it's fish in a can, so I was close).

I think that El Diablo and Hissadora go back farther; didn't they try to keep Alonssso in the dark about the fact that they are boinking each other?

I finally remembered what I forgot to post last night: How many times did Daniel try to tell Camila the truth and she kept saying "Oh, not now" when she was too hot to boink him? One or the other will have to remember that at some point.

Anita, Alonssso's birth mother was a servant, so unless the writers are screwing up it can't be Rocio, who is educated and whose family fell on harder times.

Unless Hissadora's husband lied about Alonssso's mother having been a servant. It would be ironic if he turned out to be Mariano's half brother, but I doubt it. I think Mariano is a little older than Alonssso.

Anita- Isa and Dio knew each other beforehand and had their own plan, without Al knowning. Al thinks he introduced them to each other, but it was just a plan of Isa's and Dio's. They made this clear in the beginning. Al also does not know they are boinking each other.

Urban- Cami only shuched Dan the one time when the first did the deed. A few days later, she prepared that nice snack, wine and roses evening specifically for him to tell her all he had wanted to say. But by that point the new Padre had told him to keep quiet, so he only told her part of the truth about his past. So, no, he can't really use that excuse.

That's "shushed Dan"

There are two things that prevent Rocio from being Rosario. Urban already mentioned that she was actually from a family with a name, just no money-- just like Isa. The other is that Mariano is clearly older than Al.

Rocio wasn't a servant ---Refugio was her nana. I don't know too many servants who have nannies.

I just saw the program, and I must get this off of my chest right now. CdlF is so so so so so so so hot. OMG!!! When he was telling Camila how much he loved her and pleading with her, I was having heart palpitations. Can a man be more beautiful than that? No way. I melted straight away, died, and gone to heaven.

Ok, now back to business. Thanks 5ft Latina for a great recap.

I really feel sorry for Alonso more than ever now. I know that as a grownup, one needs to take responsibility for ones actions, but in some cases where the abuse is so intense, it's very difficult to get past that and act in a rational way, and to really understand right from wrong, even if you are now an adult. Not saying they shouldn't, just that first it's hard to recognize that you have a problem since you grew up in a sick environment, and then hard to know how to get past that when you finally recognize that it is crazy. Therefore, I am feeling sorry for Alonso and want him to be able to recover from Isadora and what she has done to him. I don't think he's an evil guy, just one who's had a very bad childhood and has a lot of sorting out to do. I hope he can do it.

About Aggie, she has stated that social standing and what the neighbors think, is of the utmost importance to her, and she will fight with her daughters in order to protect herself from gossip. That's why she is fighting with Camila.

Anon207--I was not referring to the present Albarran household. I was referring to the Lazcano household in which the Old guy impregnated a SERVANT named Rosario. I just made the great leap to Rocio, who came from humble origins, and like Roselena on Refugio de Amor, seems to have changed her name from a simple Rosa to a more socially acceptable name of Roselena. Who knows, if ever. Like I said, it's probably a red herring that the names are similar.

Ok, everybody, I stand corrected. Rocio comes from a socially accepted family, so there is no great leap sideways. Rosario is history!

Cathyx--Thanks for taking the high road for Alonso. We'll feel sorry for him from time to time, remembering all the harm Hissy did, but he will continue to be a somewhat of a nerdy prick to me.

Just a guess, but Rosario will turn out to be a humble woman living a working woman's life somewhere who has been thinking everyday of her son and probably lighting a candle for the son she never got to raise.

I hope/expect we will get to meet Rosario. Seems they wouldn't have mentioned her full name if we weren't going to meet her. Will she be the key to Al's redemption? A real mother's love.

Thank you, Cat. I'm late to comment but appreciate the fun and funny recap. Good luck tonight. Hope you are getting to sing some seasonal music.

The plotting of this novela must be so much fun for the writers. Lots of red herrings and u-turns. And, there's so much to keep track of. Aron's conversation with Dio last night really tested my memory of the sequence of events so far. The actor who plays Aron seems to grow in size and stature as he plays the more aggressive Daniel.

As for Alonso, he and Ximena both are for me deeply flawed characters, who are also interesting at least some of the time. I don't feel sorry for either, but I recognize that they were lacking something in their backgrounds that has made them shallow, greedy and unwilling to take responsibility for their deeds. Whether they are redeemable or not, I'd sure like to see either one of them do something positive and heroic.

In contrast, Isa, Dio and Leo are too evil to provoke anything but hopes that they will be frustrated in their planning and finally meet a fitting end.

Vivi, I agree about Rosario. That's also why I think that Mariam is still alive. If she were really dead, there would have been some scenes about her burial, or her family's loss. Something. But there never was.

I shed my cloak of lurking only long enough to express my appreciation for the amazing job done by all the recappers and for the participation and comments of everyone else. As one for whom the Spanish language shimmers like water in the desert, forever beyond reach, I was delighted to discover this site. It has added immensely to the (guilty) pleasure of watching AB. I am constantly charmed by the intelligence, wit, and linguistic legerdemain I encounter here, and failing to acknowledge that has begun to make me feel irresponsible. So thank you one and all!

I am a novice among the ranks of telenovela fans. The first one I saw as it was being broadcast (except for the initial 10-12 episodes) was StuD. I have seen a couple others in their truncated DVD versions (MEPS, CME), and I fitfully tuned into AdP after it had been going for a while. I have to say that I have been much more impressed by AB than I expected from the avances (I had to catch up on the first 8-10 episodes on Hulu after I got hooked). I look forward to each episode (and especially the recap and comments) and feel annoyed when some “special” delays the broadcast. This is by far the most engaging TN I’ve encountered, and the dimension added by the generous recaps and comments makes it both more enjoyable and more educational (still reaching for that water).

Ah, there’s my cloak. Adiós and thanks again!

Anon 6:05: Welcome. This is the greatest site. I'm a newbie myself--or at least compared to most people who recap/comment. I've seen: MEPS, STuD and CME before this one. I love CME!!! I was just wondering last night if it was available on DVD yet. Thanks so much for the info.

Welcome Anon@6:05. Wow! You need to uncloak more often. You can string a few words into a magical sentence full of visual images. Please, get a handle for yourself and join us. I'm sure you have some private thoughts on the Camila-Daniel relationship we'd like to hear about......

Off topic... What important person died in Mexico? I have my TV on but don't understand whose funeral it is but it it obvious that it is someone important!
Gracias

Yes, CME is available on DVD. It can be purchased at Amazon. I bought it, but have not seen it to know how badly it was chopped up. I just wanted to see the beautiful Juan Soler with the equally beautiful Silvia Navarro again and to hear that wonderful theme song.

Off Topic response:
Sorry to go off topic especially for something political which I have no interest in. But this has been on the TV all day and I was curious. Here's what I found on the internet.

Attack on Mexico funeral kills 7, wounds 17
PIEDRAS NEGRAS, Mexico (AP) - Gunmen in northern Mexico attacked mourners at a graveside ceremony Monday for a man apparently killed by a drug cartel, killing seven people and wounding 17.
The mass shooting took place at a cemetery in the city of Torreon, Coahuila, said assistant state prosecutor Fernando Olivas. The area has been the scene of bloody battles between drug gangs.
At least three carloads of gunmen pulled up to the cemetery, located next door to a military base, and opened fire on the mourners with assault rifles.
Some of the mourners, apparently carrying their own guns, returned fire. The attackers then fled.
Investigators then found some guns hidden among the tombs at the cemetery.
The man whose funeral was being held had been shot to death Saturday in an imported luxury car, and a hand-lettered sign referring to a drug cartel was found next to his body.
Mexican drug cartels have been known to attack hospitals and ambulances to finish off wounded rivals, but attacks on funerals are relatively rare.

Anon 6:52: bought MEPS because it got a good DVD review. Didn't buy STuD because it got a poor one. Can only find a few reviews for CME--about half and half. Since it's my fav (so far), I'll probably buy it anyway.

Anon 6:05 - ¡Bienvenida! I want to add my voice to those who have already welcomed you. You have a wonderful way with words. I hope you'll participate more often, preferably under a unique screen name.

As you probably already know, this is a terrific community AND an excellent way to bring that aqua en el desierto un poco más cerca.

Anon 6:05 - Welcome and please share more. Your comments are very insightful and we love more food for thought.

I don't quite understand what's gone wrong with the storylines involving the other ranch - the stuff with Rene Strickler and his brothers, which I find terribly dull and conventional. It's like that stuff is out of a different, worst novela. Maybe Isadora setting eyes on the patriarch of that family will inject some life in that part of the show.
*****************************

RG- ITA. I'm especially annoyed by the Yago/Natalia scenes. Such a horrible theme song they have! And he's so slimy, superior-acting, and bossy with her, while she's simpering and submissive. But the music suggests that the viewers are expected to find it cute!
