Could that earthquake possibly have looked any more fake? No one was even jolted or stumbling; nothing fell off of tables or shelves. Lu Chong was hiding under the table but none of the picture frames even slid. Okey-dokey.

HOWEVER! Big development at the end...Susi was frantically looking for Fer because one of their buildings had some parts collapse and some workers were hurt, in the earthquake that moved nary a tchotchke! Anyone bet this is the building Manwitch screwed up when she was playing president?

Why is Fer even trying to pacify Manuela? That tantrum should have given him all the excuse he needed to demand a divorce.

Best part, once again, was Moncho practicing his smooth moves in the mirror.
 

It was so hilarious that an earthquake saved Fer from having to swear. The Manny actress sure does BSC meltdowns well.

But seriously, Fer, this is pathetic! (so what else is new!) You have a wonderful romantic night with Isa where you both confess your undying love, and all you can say is "Why does this have to happen just now, when I am married?". I can't even begin to unravel the illogic of that complaint. Like you didn't get married just to spite Isa and try to force her hand somehow? Like you had nothing to do with the foolish "getting married" stunt? Ridiculous.

And Fer doesn't even think twice in promising Manny that they'll make love that very evening, after he just made love to Isa. Way to go, dude!

Julia thanks for mention the bldg trouble. I hope this is the beginning of Fer's eyes being opened to EWM. And as you noted if that tantrum didn't make him want a divorce, I don't know what it will take.

Audrey - yes Fer has been beyond foolish. I think by the end of this TN we should have a contest for the dumbest galan. I think our Fer has a shot at the title.

Thanks, karen. I agree with all the comments about Fer. OK he now knows for sure that he made a mistake. He just experienced the cama cosmica -- and he just goes back to Manuela & tries to appease her -- even promises her nookie at last. The terremoto that kept him from having to swear to an untruth was funn. I also noted that badk near the epicenter in the DF nothing was even knocked over on the tables.

It looks like Fer & his company are in deep doo-doo thanks to Manuela. Somehow I expect that she will wriggle out from under,

Moncho is so cute when he puts on the moves in front of the mirror.

And, oh no! Willy is starting to think of switching his affections to Adelita because she is so forgiving where Lucia is not. How, oh how, is Lucia going to be convinced that she doesn't need to honor the promise she made in the hospital chapel???

Wow, today was a doozy! Looks like Manuela might succeed in laying the blame at Isa's feet yet AGAIN! Loved Sarita pointing out Isa's foolishness in running after Fer under the circumstances (Fer's earthquake-related business problems) when she had been forced out of the company under such a nasty situation.

What a rabid b!tch Manuela is! If this doesn't send Fer running to the hills when he's only been married, what a week?, and already cheated on her, then he deserves to be stuck with her!
 

What?! Isa is going to get blamed? I just started watching and was getting excited about Manny finally getting caught, but now that it seems that Isa is going to be in the line of fire, I don't know if I can keep watching.

I am cheering Sarita on as she gives Isa a piece of her mind.
 

i had thought that Manuela might be caught -- but I forgot that the contracts were actually signed by Isa. I guess it will be weeks & weeks before Isa (and Sarita) finds out that it wasn't Fer who gave Isa that bad reference AND before Fer finds out that it was Manuela who insisted on the cheaper insurance and the defective materials.

On another front -- I can't believe that Mayela's pee is going to be used to fake another pregnancy. What a sleaze Mauricio is. And why doesn't Barf wake up and smell the coffee. He just told her that she is good enough to have sex with but not good enough to have on his arm in public. At least that's what any sane person would interpret his "you're good for some things" remark. So now she is going to mess with poor Juancho again.What a worthless thing she is.

I certainly hope that these packages of drugs Barbara is passing on don't get her mother or Willy in trouble.

And what about Jorge? He just said that if Isa won't be his "por las buenas" she will be his "por las malas" I wonder what nastiness he has in mind.

Karen, thank you for Monday's recap. And thanks to those of you who shared details from Tuesday's show.

I haven't finished the Tuesday episode yet but I'm as frustrated as the rest of you that Manuela is turning the blame to Isa. Won't Suzy remember how things transpired way back when?

That said, Manuela has excellent instincts when her "property" is being threatened. Still, that doesn't excuse her BSC behavior. Fer, really? A life with that harpy? And Horty is no better. One can really see where Manuela gets her extreme bitchiness.


 

Fabiola Campomanes is doing an award-worthy portrayal of Manuela. I really, really want to hit her.

Fer is still clueless. How do you know Manuela is lying? Her lips are moving. What's your second clue? She said SHE TRUSTED ISA with the insurance thing. Come on, Fer, you know that's crap. Manwitch has never had the slightest respect for Isa. So ask yourself, why would she order the ARCHITECT to deal with insurance issues?

Susi and Zoe can back Isa up; maybe Fer will listen to them.

Horny was just funny in her childishness. "I am not going to lose a single centavo!" Sorry, Horny, that's not how it works when you're an owner.

I cheered when the guy told Jorrid he knows how much the statue is worth, and if it's stolen or anything happens to him, he's already told people who to hold responsible.

Barf is such a toad. Can she just get Knuckles to marry her already? I'm guessing she'll fake a pregnancy and turn out to be actually pregnant, but not by Juancho, obvs.
 

ITA about Fabiola. The avances for today made me want to reach into the screen and punch her right in the nose. I'm a little weary of Fer's cluelessness. At this point it's hard to believe he ever ran a company. He continues to be completely manipulated by Manuela even though every other person in his life is quite vocal about their disapproval. Oh, and not to mention his recent night of love with Isa.

I SO want to see Jorrid get busted. Also Ricky. Also Jaibo. The list goes on...
 

Güera - I hope Willy does not go down the path of Adelita. I keep hoping she will open her eyes and realize what a gem Moncho is.

Audrey - rabid witch (or worse) is correct. I don't know why he is such an idiot and continues this sham marriage. The worst is I think we are going to have to live through EWM harming his daughters before he gets a real revelation.

Vivi - ITA we are getting to the part of this TN where it is unwatchable w/the relentless success of most of the baddies. And Sarita should have given Isa a piece of her mind.

Sylvia - Horny & EWM are indeed a horrible pair. Their reveal cannot happen soon enough for me.

Julia - let's hope Suzy remembers and Fer believes her. Sick of Barf too.
 

I was just ranting about the baddies getting the upper hand and now Sarita gets shot. The hitman was about to kidnap or carjack Isa when Sarita runs out to protect her daughter. Hopefully she won't die and her ex will return and they will get together.

Brace yourself friends the episode essentially a nightmare.

Other happenings for today - Mayela drugs Jaibo and escapes his clutches at least for the moment.

The Maris are shattered by Sarita getting shot with EWM pretending to be concerned when she just gloated about Sarita's death and Isa's eventual death. WITCH!

Willy & Moncho discover rIcky is selling drugs.

Jorrible prevents Beba from helping Moncho and the fake pregnancy plot continues with the previews showing Barf telling her mom that Juancho is her baby-daddy.

During their dating time did they ever go that far? Can this lie be stopped?

This was a terrible episode from beginning to end. There wasn't one thing to smile about.

Did Manny high-tail it to the hospital to give Isa more grief? Those poor little girls, left alone to deal with is tragedy on their own. Too bad it wasn't Manny that was shot.

Yes Vivi this is an episode to skip. If you FF through all the bad parts, there is probably 5 min of good stuff.

RP - ITA it was a very bad episode. And yes EWM went to the hospital under the guise of concern but we know better.
 

Wednesday's epi was just horrible to watch. I can't believe that Sarita was shot. Please. Please. Please. Let her be all right. And Jorge saving the day by arriving just in time to chase off the baddie & call the ambulance. Isa was just about to dump him -- but now she probably won't.

Just one other thing from yesterday. Mr. Smith (of the amusing American accent) aded two plot points to this episode. The first we already knew about. He is upset about the dealer who was shot & is prepared to make it hard on the person responsible. Jorge managed to keep his poker face on in when he heard that threat -- he, of course, is the person responsible.New point -- Smith is in town to get Jorge's help with a money laundering scheme. He wants Jorge to find him a company threatened with bankruptcy and in dire need of a cash infusion. Oh my! I wonder where Jorge can find such a firm????

I'l be out of town & off line for a few days. can't wait to catch up on Monday.

Oh Karen, you didn't spoil it for me! I was anxious to know what I missed, and I can't watch it on Hulu until the next day. I am going to watch it, and so I appreciate the warnings of a nightmare episode.

I did watch it. Thanks for the warnings, but it was a good episode anyway.

So Isa does get to "explain" that Manuela insisted she sign those insurance papers because insurance were cheaper even though she told Manuela they should have the natural disaster insurance, and Manuela claims Isa never should have signed them in that case, and Fer just blows off who to believe or what happened. As usual! Just like the poisoning, he doesn't want to pay any attention to how things happened, but just sweep everything under the rug.

Just wait until they find out about the sub-standard rebar. Isa wasn't in the loop on that at all, but Manuela will probably just bribe the supplier to say otherwise.

For such low IQ villain, Manuela is getting away with WAAAAY too much!

Jaibo on drugs - heehee! That was hilarious. So was Willy making the screeching brakes sound effect before he hopped off the elliptical LOL!
 

I also find it amazing that Manuela's childish lying and tantrums have gotten her so far. Usually successful villains are smarter.

HOW is she successfully shifting the blame on this one? She was the VP, she was in charge of the insurance, if she assigned it to someone and that person screwed up (for whatever reason), it's still her fault because she should have been supervising! Sheesh. Plus it's bad management to assign that kind of business matter to someone whose training and experience is in architecture, so even more Mani's fault.

I'm waiting for them to find out why the building collapsed.
 

Funniest bit, aside from Willy G and Moncho, was that jar of urine getting toted around by everyone.
 

Audrey & Julia - yes it is surprising such a dumb and basically crazy most of the time villain has gotten as far as EWM has. Unfortunately for us Fer is really dumb so it works.

Manwitch continues her bruja brouhaha. She spent the episode having more shrewish tantrums and worrying about someone finding out she's responsible for the rebar substitution that led to the collapse. Some of the workers are still in the hospital, and it looks like she might try to give the guy who knows the dirt a push out of this life. Ugh.

Sarita is alive. She's in the hospital in critical condition but she mumbled "Leopoldo" a few times. Isa thinks that is a good sign. Isa yelled at Fer because he was stupid enough to bring the harpy with him when he visited.

Mayela got away from Jaibo, but collapsed on the street. Some decent bystanders called an ambulance and she's having an emergency c-section in a clinic. Doris is in a panic. Poncho is trying to convince Doris to come clean already. I'm ready for this plotline to end.

Jorrid was horrid to Moncho and told Beba he's just trying to get money out of her. I guess he thinks everyone is like him.

Barf told Lala she's pregnant, and this does not look good for Lala's health. She swears it's Juancho's bebe. Marisol called Juancho and said she broke up with Knuckles, and he was thrilled, but on his way over there he was confronted by Lala and Barf. So now he's distraught. He did have some doubt that Barf was really pregnant by him; we'll see how much he challenges her. Juancho told Marisol that Barf says she's pregnant.

LOL at Jorrible thinking everyone is after Bebe money when he is the one mooching off her, living in her house, etc. He gets treble anvils for distressing his mother the way he does. Although, I think Bebe is finally seeing the light from the look on her face. It is time to kick that good for nothing son out of the nest.

Barf is as bad as Manny. Maybe she needs to go play in traffic and put an end to everyone's misery.

I think the re-bar thing is getting too close for comfort for Manny. Again, I wish she had been in the building that collapsed.

Though he didn't bring her, Fer should have sent harpy home. He knows what she has said about both Isa and Sarita.

RP - I do see Barf as Manny in training. Barf hasn't graduated to murder but given her current track record I would not put it past her.

Yes Jorrible is a mess and thinks everyone is as lowly as he. Too bad Beba is his mother. His anvil will hurt her.

On Friday, Lucia gets the very bad news that Mayela didn't survive the childbirth, but her newborn son is well. Lucia lies to the hospital that father is unknown, so child protective services is contacted to take custody of the infant. Doris finds out about Mayela's death and suffers extreme remorse for her involvment with Jaibo, etc., and she swears to end her farce. Poncho calls the Lobo house to say Doris' out-of-town aunt is at death's door (to provide cover), and Doris leaves while Manny is very suspicious about her sudden departure. Somehow Jaibo gets the news about the babe and ReIcky is seen about to sneak into the clinic.

Marisol reacts to Juancho's "Barf is pregnant" news by turning her back on him, not listening to any doubts. Later, Doris is able to convince Marisol that indeed, someone like Barf might invent such a story for various reasons (drawing on her personal experience), so if Juancho is not sure that Barb's babe is his, she should listen to him. But by the time she reaches Juancho again to tell him she'll stand by him after all, Jauncho has already agreed to "do the right thing" and marry Barf. Marisol turns her back again. Meanwhile, Barf is holding out for a "real fiesta".

Funny (sad) scene where Doris is crying in the car over Mayela's death and the loss of her "baby" and all her dreams going up in smoke, and Marisol thinks she's crying in sympathy over her troubles with Juancho LOL!

Manny goes through stacks of docs looking to cover her butt for the substandard rebar, and she gets a surprise visit from Inspector Isidro "questioning" her that she has a motive for wanting to off Isa. Remember that Isidro is still suspicious that Manny had a hand in her sister's death, and now he learns that she and Fer are married. Of course Manny tells Fer that Isa accused her of the attempted hit to the police.

Sarita is well on her way to recovery.

Do Juancho and Marisol just pass the stupid stick back and forth? What in the everloving heck, Juancho? You KNOW Barf is a sneaky liar; why would you take her word for anything now? I'm hoping Barf will turn out to be actually pregnant (or maybe just get a false positive/pseudopregnancy type of thing, so no child will be stuck with her) and use that to coerce Knuckles to marry her. We all know she'd rather have money and at least she seems to have no intention of actually marrying Juancho.

I wonder how long it will take for Manuela to be found out. In the real world, a forensic investigation would quickly reveal that the construction didn't match the drawings and specifications. In the real world, however, there would be a huge paper and electronic trail documenting every construction question and design change, and no one would ask some unknown "VP" to answer a rebar question, they'd ask the staff engineers. It would be an issue that would have gone to the top, to Fer, in the first place.

I think Lucia did tell the woman at the hospital that she knows who the father is, but that he's an abusive delinquent and there are already charges against him for beating Mayela. So that's enough to keep them from just handing the baby over to Jaibo, and Beba is getting her lawyer to work on convincing the authorities to send the baby to the casa hogar. Hmm, maybe Willy and Lucia should get married and adopt him. Doris needs some serious therapy, and then she can marry Poncho and have kids with him.

Also, I think Manuela is thinking she can "off" the engineer that was injured at the site so she won't be found out.

I thought Lucia told Beba about who the father really was (a delinquent abusive drug dealer) but maintained her lie with the clinic about the father being unknown. Otherwise the clinic would have contacted the father.

Was it Doris who told ReIcky or Jaibo about Mayela dying? But how did they figure out which clinic? If that was Doris too, she needs a coconut dropped on her head!

Hmm, you may be right, Lucia may have said that to Beba when the clinic woman couldn't hear her. Yes, Doris is the one who told rIcky all the details about Mayela and the baby. She does need a coconut dropped on her head. Actually she just needs some intense classes in logic and consequences. She's like a child sometimes; she reacts and makes decisions emotionally and in the moment without thinking things through.
 

ITA about that coconut on Doris' head! I could not believe she blabbed like that to Ricky, after she basically caused Mayela to die from neglect by convincing her to continue with the stupid baby-buying plan. She SHOULD be feeling guilty-- guilty enough to come clean instead of continuing with the deception like she's doing.

What a sad end for a sad girl. RIP Mayela. Someone, please protect that baby before Ricky and Jaibo get their grubby paws on him!
 

Audrey, Audrey, have you forgotten the first telenovela law about hotels, hospitals, restaurants, etc? There is only one each per tn, so RIcky and Jaibo would have no trouble finding said bebe.

I'm glad I'm not "really" watching this tn--it would drive me coco-nuts.
