Amores Verdaderos #12 Fri 11/23/12 Our Two Hawt Guys and the Women They Deal With; Nelson Has a Bad Day
So the Hawt Guys have some issues with the women they deal with, also Kendra has a new plan up her sleeve, and Twinkle Toes Salsero is kinda ok with it, but has his reservations. Want to know more? Please read on.
We are at the partay in full swing at the Balvanera's minus the 'rents of course. Everyone, especially Nikki is havin' a great time. Well, Nikki has gotten on a table in the living room, and told everyone that Guzmancito is not only a bodyguard, but can play one mean piano. Everyone cheers for Guzmancito, but he isn't lookin' happy. They also wanted him to play, but he won't. Nikki goes back to dancing with Vladdy who makes the mistake of saying there is something extra on her waistline, but I think he is really referring to her bony hips. She takes offense thinking he is calling her fat, Vladdy denies it, and Nikki takes off upstairs and Guzmancito kinda follows her, until he gets tangled up with the two friends that have been hanging on to him, like cheap dresses.
**Bare Chest alert!!!!, Our Angel is in bed, looks like he's thinking and not sleeping, and then we have a scene of Ms Vikki writing on her tablet, with letters floating in the air. She is writing something about he is far away but keeps the memory of her with him, even while she is far away, and somewhere it was written that they would meet. So evidently our Ms Vikki is writing a torrid romance! She also says The Angel inspires her, hmmmm. Could this be the Perils of Ms Vikki? We will have to see.
Nikki, I am sad to say, is throwing up again, talking to the porcelien throne, so to speak. She flushes, looks in the mirror, trying to grab that non existant fat, and brushes her teeth. Guzmancito has finally disentangled himself from those clinging women and comes to see how she is. Nikki opens the door, and tells Guzmancito she is fine, really. She wants to be left alone, he was enjoying himself so much at the party,and he wants to know if she is really ok. She says fine, she just had to pee and since when does she need permission for that? Guzmancito says no of course you don't. They have a moment where they really look at each other, and Guzmancito is clearly worried about her. She goes back to the party,.
Salsero is driving Nelson around. Ruh Roh, maybe he is going home. Twinkle Toes is telling Nelson that Kendra is a special woman. Nelson is trying not to lick his lips, jus'sayin'. Nelson's phone rings and we all know who is calling. It is the logo of the water account and of course it is Kendra, right on cue. She is so pleased that Nelson is soooo into her, but she feels that she is vulnerable to him now, they really don't have a future, he is married, doncha know, and to avoid the temptation of being around Nelson, she hereby cancels her exclusive contract with Meta Imagen. Click! After she hangs up, she laughs like gotcha! Nelson is so pithed, he can't even speak!
Everyone is leaving that partay, doncha know, and Nikki is thanking them for coming. Nikki is calling for Polita, she wants her and Jean Marie to clean up the mess before her Papi comes home. Polita doesn't want to go wake up Jean Marie, but Nikki wants this done now, so it will look as if there was never a party here. Ok???Especially she doesn't want her Papi to know and she wants it done like yesterday. Ruh Roh. Now on to Vladdy the boyfriend. He wants to go, but Nikki tells him to stay, go up to her room and wait, Ruh Roh. Guzmancito is not lookin' happy. Nikki tells Guzmancito goodnight, and he says right back atcha. She wants to know if he is going to do anything about having that guy in her room. No siree bob, he isn't, it's none of his bidness! Nikki thinks he has finally learned his place. Nikki looks disappointed and goes upstairs.
Polita comes in and remarks that that girl has got the devil in her, something Polita's mama used to say, and Polita is cleaning up the partay mess. In comes Jean Marie all pithed cause he wasn't invited to the party, he has to clean up the mess, and he puts his hand over one eye, then the other, lol. He is like the monkey in the trio of monkeys, you know the ones, See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil. He is the not seeing evil one. He starts cleaning up. And Ruh Roh here comes Nelson. He is having a badddd day, doncha know. He almost got to boink Kendra, that didn't work out, she quit on him and now he comes home to a rousing dance music and the place is a mess that Jean Marie and Polita are trying to clean up. Busted!!!! He wants an explanation, like yesterday, well Jean Marie and Polita explain there was a partay with some of Nikki's friends. He rips into Guzmancito for allowing this partay, and Guzmancito tells him, it's not in my job description,and Nelson wants to know where Nikki is. She's upstairs in her bedroom,and Guzmancito thinking quickly, tells Papi he will go get her. Don't bother Nelson tells him, going up to deal with this myself, Ruh Roh and a half. Polita and Jean Marie are like Nikki is so BUSTED!!!!
Meanwhile, in her bedroom, Nikki is makin' out with Vladdy on her bed. They are completely dressed, no funny bidness, but lots of smoochies. He wants to go further, but she doesn't want to, she's tired. He is still trying to persuade her to, you know give it up, when in walks Snappy Papi who is beyond pithed now. Vladdy is tryin' to 'splain himself, Snappy Papi tells him to get out and now the Snappy Papi lays into Nikki, wanting to know what the hey she is doing, decent girls don't do these things, his friends will all call her a you know what, and she tells him to stop already. These are not the values he taught her, doncha know, speaking of the pot, he has a nerve, Anyhoo, She wants to know what values now? What is he talkin' about? When was the last time he spent anytime with her? She is crying and he has to turn away to hide his face. She says that's why I have a bodyguard to look after me 24/7 and that you believe that takes care of all my problems, right? He tells her it's for her own safety. She thinks it's for the safety of his conscience. She is really upset, he just looks pithed, I must say. Maybe Nikki did get to him cause she says since when is the company of a bodyguard better than my own father's company, when? He has tears in his eyes and she is crying.
Guzmancito is making coffee in the bodyguards quarters when Twinkle Toes Salsero comes in and tells Guzmancito he heard what happened and that girl is a handful. He also tells Guzmancito he is going to rest and Guzmancito has to patrol, Twinkle Toes gives the orders you see. He also tells Frankie that he knows the Arriaga ranch burned down, and Frankie wants to know how he knows. The boss told him of course and Frankie should be happy cause Vikki hired Arriaga back as her bodyguard. Frankie looks thoughtful.
Back to Snappy Papi and Nikki, he is telling Nikki that children never value what their parents give them. It seems nothing is ever enough for Nikki, according to Snappy Papi, all Nikki really wants is some of her Daddy's time, that's it, that's all. He claims he doesn't have enough time, oh please, but he has time to attempt to boink Kendra, jus' sayin'. They have given all kinds of luxuries to Nikki and even her mother and he respected her decision to drop out of school to be a model, so she shouldn't be complain'. What is wrong with this picture? Nikki desperately wants some time with Snappy Papi but he is too busy tryin' to boink Kendra. Then he tells her this convo isn't over. She cries and runs off, and of course he says something else after she goes. Of course this is all Ms Vikki's fault for being careless. Can I deck him now????
Now Nikki goes to take it out on Guzmancito. How dare he tell her Snappy Papi, bout the party and the boy in her room? She wants him to get a life. He says it's clear to him that its her life and she'll do what she wants and now she is sick of him and wants him to pay for what he did. Nikki is really crying in the foyer now.
Now we have the Angel, Lili and Chrissie and the Angel is dropping them off at a shrine of the Virgin of Guadalupe, and will come back for them as soon as he is done doing something. They want to know what? He says he has to take care of something and then they are going to the apartment that Ms Vikki got for them. He goes and Chrissie and Lily pray to the Virginicita. (Historical Note: This is the grotto in Mexico City where Juan Diego Cuauhtlatoatzin first saw the apparition of the Virgin of Guadalupe). They also have flowers and place them there too.
Now we see Adriana, taking pictures in a religious shop, lots of devotional candles and such. A woman comes in with 50 candles to sell, she is evidently one of the suppliers of the candles. Some are rose scented and some are vanilla scented, and also lavender scented. The lady selling is Paulina, the lady buying and the owner of the shop is Cholita. Adriana comes up to them, and Cholita asks her if there is anything she can get for Adriana, she says no, but she'd like to take some pictures, if that is ok? Sure, Cholita says.
Now we know where the Angel has gone, to the shady lawyer's office, there is a security guard there, who tells the Angel that lawyer is no longer there, and the Angel isn't buying it and the security guard shows him the empty office. The security guard also tells him that he thinks the lawyer skipped the country. The Angel is so not happy and calls the shady lawyer a rat.
Back to the shop and Adriana is done taking her pics and we see Cholita paying Paulina for her candles. Adriana thanks Cholita for letting her take the pics and is about to go, when Paulina calls to her. She wants to give her a candle and tells her to light it and think about the person she most loves. Adriana starts getting tears in her eyes, and Paulina says I see loss and sadness with you, what is this lady the Long Island Medium, jus'sayin'. Adriana tells Paulina yes, it's true, I lost my daughter when she was born, and Paulina tells her, oh, she's not dead, she's alive. Adriana says that isn't possible. She gives the candle to Adriana and she goes. Now Cholita comes and tells Adriana that Paulina is a wait for it, psychic and she is never wrong. More mystery, where is Hercule Poirot, jus' sayin'.
We see the Arriagas have arrived at their new abode. They are trying to hurry inside cause it is starting to rain, and the porter for the building comes and helps Arriaga with the bags.
Polita and Jean Marie in the kitchen, they are singing, and let me tell you they can't carry a tune. Tomasina comes in to see what all that catterwauling is about and Tomasina informs them they all get a raise, Ms Vikki said so, and also that Arriaga is BACK. Happy dance with Polita and Jean Marie.
The Arriagas have arrived in their apartment, it is fully furnished and the Angel and Lily are estatic. Angel loves the hot water, that doesn't seem to run out and Lily can't beleive there are four bedrooms. Chrissie is sacrastically saying this apartment doesn't come with the owner too, does it. Angel reminds Chrissie they agreed to this place, she apologizes and wants to find the people that burned their ranch down, and they will trust the police to find this out. And they also agreed to live in this apartment Ms Vikki decorated and that's it in a nutshell. Chrissie says she hopes Ms Vikki doesn't think that just cause she got this place for them she can come and go any ole time. Lily and the Angel laugh at that. He tells Chrissie you are kidding right, Ms Vikki is way tooooo busy to visit. Chrissie is like oh, yeah. The doorbell rings. Chrissie is smirking and Angel sits down and then there is a race for the door, Angel gets there first and it is wait for it, Ms Vikki, come a callin', lol. Angel and Lily smile huge smiles but Chrissie, meh, not so much. Ms Vikki apologizes that there isn't any food in the place, but no worries, she has brought some.
Salsero is in the bodyguards quarters, handling a gun, when his phone rings. It's Kendra of course and he says he was about to call her. He tells her the Angel has come back to work and Kendra reminds Salsero that she is not only beautiful she has a brain, as in smart. Of course he says he knows that, can I hurl now? Oh, and by the way Kendra is in the bubblebath as she is talkin' to the Twinkle Toes. She doesn't beleive him she had to do things her way, cause the Twinkle Toes was gettin' nervous and you can't have any feelings, you just gotta do them already. He isn't happy, wanted things done his way. Kendra tells him at least that cowboy, the karate one, is back. Then they get into her resignation from that contract. Nelson told Twinkle Toes to convince Kendra to come to the office for a meet. She has Nelson exactly where she wants him and now wants to be in charge of their little game.
They can't beleive Ms Vikki brought them everything they need. They thank her. Chrissie can't beleive they are in this new building and Ms Vikki says not new, Anibal built it awhile ago. Angel wants Chrissie to offer Ms Vikki some refreshment , but they don't have any coffee. Ms Vikki has brought them a jar of instant. Ms Vikki says you don't have to, but Angel is insisting, he'll make it for her, and just as she likes it, which doesn't endear him to Chrissie. Lily offers Ms Vikki a seat and Angel and Chrissie go to the kitchen.
Adriana has come home to her apartment with the candle. She is crying and says that her daughter is alive, impossible, just impossible.
Back to the kitchen at the apartment and the Angel tells Chrissie to lose that look on her face. She thinks she is going to lose Angel, he'll stop loving her, and she is scared of that. He can't beleive she is still goin' on about that. She wants to know if he is interested in Ms Vikki, (Note to the Angel, lie thru your teeth, jus' sayin'). He says Ms Vikki is his boss and only his boss nothing more and he just adores his Chrissie.
Lily meantime is talkin' to Ms Vikki and tells her she met Guzmancito and really likes him. Ms Vikki tells her that Guzmancito takes care of her daughter and her daughter is a handful when her phone beeps and it's a text from Nelson. He needs a campaign slogan. Angel has brought Ms. Vikki the coffee, just exactly like she likes it, and Chrissie is giving him the death ray. She can't stay for the coffee,what a shame, has to get to the office to go over this campaign, and oh by the way, you are coming with. Angel says ok. Lily gives her Papa the blessing and Ms Vikki tells them if they need anything she gives a card to Lily with the adress of the bidness and office number, and Chrissie is just looking on. Ms Vikki has gone out the door, when Chrissie comes over to the Angel and lays a liplock on him, he tells her enough already, but she moves in for some more liplock as Ms Vikki looks on, with a perturbed look on her face. Lily has to break it up by saying they are waiting and Chrissie is none too happy. After the Angel goes, Lily asks her mama if she can't stand Ms Vikki, and Chrissie tells her as long as she doesn't take what is mine, in other words the Angel, she will put up with Ms Vikki.
Anibal and Nikki are eating and Nikki is telling him about her friend Serena's bebe. How cute and sweet the bebe is. And by the way, how was his night with the girlfriend? He doesn't want to discuss this with Nikki. Nikki assures him , she isn't her Mama and wants to get to know Paula. Not possible, says Anibal, he can't bring her here, and she knows why, it would disrepect Pilar, the dearly departed grandmama. Methinks, Anibal is just using Paula.
Guzmancito is taking a call from his sister Beatriz. She is concerned about Papa Felipe. She tells Guzmancito all about Papa finding out where Mama Paula lives and he came back all disturbed and Guzmancito wants to know what that has got to do with him? He doesn't want to be involved cause that woman abandoned them twenty years ago already! Guzmancito basically says she reaped what she sowed, he has gotta go, kisses to her and his nephew and click.
Arriaga has arrived in the Balvanera kitchen and says surprise, surprise, they are so happy to see him. That would be Polita, Jean Marie, Guzmancito. He greets them warmly. They all missed him. He says Guzmancito is like his bro, awww. Guzmancito wants to know if they found who set the fire? Angel says no, but that shady lawyer left the country and he'll fight to find out who did this. He has to go and change now into his work clothes. He is still wearing his good ole country boy clothes. In comes Twinkle Toes with a little gift from their Bossman Mr. Brizz, it's a gun for Arriaga. Oh, noes, he didn't. He doesn't like guns, no siree bob. Won't deal with one, evaa. Twinkle Toes tells him this is not a request but an order, he has to carry it, part of his job. He says it's really easy to use one, which he now points at he wall , while Jean Marie and Polita cower. Twinkle Toes says this is all you do, point, breathe, shoot, that's it. Arriaga is so not down with that, thanks but no thanks. Twinkle Toes reminds him if he had had this gun in the mall, he could have avoided the shoulder wound. Guzmancito tells him they will go somewhere and he'll teach him how to shoot the gun. The Angel isn't happy with the gun.
Ms Vikki is in her hothouse of flowers and emails Nelson with that campaign slogan and she calls Nelson to remind him that Nikki has an appointment with the nutritionist and it's important they both go. To prove to her they will make time for her. The appointment is at 7:00, and of course Nelson tells her he can't possibly make it, too busy, and how about takin' care of that for him honey bunny? A$$HAT!!!!!! Please, Nelson has all that time to try to boink Kendra, but he can't take time for his little girl??? Really!!!! Sad Vikki.
*** Naked Chest Alert*** The Angel is sitting on the bed, in the bodyguard quarters, he's in his boxers, yummy, hunkalicious, manly man, er, ok, spaced out for a sec, now back to the recap, contemplating putting on the suit (Note to the Angel, stay in the boxers, you did at the mall, right :)) So looks like he is counting I don't know his new clothes or his toes, anyhoo, our hunkalious guy gets dressed and his having trouble with his tie. He finally gives up.
Back to the hothouse, where Ms Vikki continues to write that torrid romance. She is concentrating so hard, she doesn't hear Tomasina come in. Seems Tomasina wants to know what has her attention? Well she is writing a novel. Really, seriously. Well come to find out she knew someone named Carlos Gonzalez and tried to write a novel before but gave up. Now she wants to write another. Tomasina wants to know if it will have a happy ending? Ms Vikki doesn't know yet. Since she has matured since then, it will be a different sort of story, it is, wait for it, a story of a bidness woman and her bodyguard. Tomasina thinks it's about Ms Vikki and er, yummy, hunkalious, er, Angel. Ms Vikki poohpoohs that idea and says, meh, not so much, but Angel is the inspiration, I'll bet, and it is a work of fiction not non fiction. Tomasina is like yeah, sure, sure. More of the Chinese Horoscope, and the book will be full of passion, lol. Oh, and there were more of those letters floating in the air. Ms Vikki wants to know if the flower delivery came, yes they came. Ms Vikki is going to arrange them and Tomasina is still goin on about the Chinese Horoscope, lol.
Nikki is on the phone with Rommel, who she is telling, don't wanna know you, gotta get you out of my life, don't bother me anymore. He's her ex and punto. Guzmancito comes in lookin' for Nikki and she has to tell him that was Rommel on the phone, memba that guy with the bike? He is bothering me and I hope you know what to do about that. He does. Guzmancito is mad cause he went looking for Nikki all over the house till he found her, must be some ginormous house, jus' sayin. Why didn't she tell him where she was? Oh, what she says,want me to get a GPS so you can find me? Not a bad idea he says, lol. Snappy Papi now calls her and tells her she needs to come in to replace a model for a cosmetics company, the other model called in sick and she needs to replace her. She asks Snappy Papi what are they wearing. Leotards he says, No way says Ms Nikki, they show all the fat, can't do it, no way, no how. He thinks she is kidding, he thinks it is one of her whims again, but she says no, can't do it, already told you no. Well Snappy Papi is pithed, she is a model from Meta Imagen and she needs to follow the rules, nothing doing she says. So Note to Snappy Papi, are you a dunce, she told you she thinks she's fat, what are you not hearing, ya A$$HAT???? Guzmancito has heard though and seems to be listening. Now Nikki is saying let's go Guzmancito and they go.
Nelson gets off the phone, and tells Salsero, they are down a model and to let Aldo the photog know. Nelson is more concerned about if Twinkle Toes gave Kendra his message, ya know, about the office meet.
Our hawt Angel is in the kitchen and Jean Marie is trying to tie his tie, and Angel is not likin it, it's too tight. Jean Marie tells the Angel he looks divine, lol, and also the tie adds color to the suit. Ms Vikki and Tomasina come in and the Angel pushes Jean Marie away, and he says Ms Vikki, Jose Maria, and Jean Marie corrects him ,was tying my tie lol. Ms Vikki is likin' what she is seein, doncha know. Angel doesn't like the new uniform, so to speak, but Ms. Vikki tells him, with a lustful look in her eyes and he is staring into those eyes as if mesermised, that little by little he will get used to it. Sigh!!!! And here is where this epi ends.

Crissie marking her territory with the big kiss in front of Vicki was a hoot. No idea when it'll be revealed to them that they're half-sisters, but I felt a twinge of little sister/big sister rivalry mixed in with the JA rivalry. Is there ever a call of the blood between sisters? Interestingly, both are good mothers.
I'm like JA, torn between the two women. I like Crissie even though her jealousy is a pain; she and JA and have shared some tender scenes. But there's no denying JA and Vicki have chemistry; Vicki doing is tie was a sweet moment.
JA shirtless on the bed contemplating how to put on his new uniform (the suit and tie). What a hoot.
Guzmancito seemed to sense Nikki's internal pain and she seemed momentarily touched. They've got chemistry too, but I still can't see her being ready for the traditional TN wedding at the end, if this is how it will go.
I've wondered if Nelson was always a snake but grew that way because he felt emasculated by Anibel and Vicki in the business. But when he said to himself that Nikki is what he got for being careless with Vicki, it seems he's always been that way. Maybe he married Vicki for the power from the start.

Thank goodness Hawt Frank is out of those horrible boots. What was with that? Sorry if it's already been commented, I know it was a few episodes ago. I got caught up on all the recaps now but couldn't read all the comments.
There is supposed to be a love triangle between Nikki-Guzman-Lili, but the opening credits show so much of Nikki-Frank that it doesn't even seem like a story worth following, with such a foregone conclusion. Of course I guess that is true of all novelas, so what am I saying! Lili seems like such an infant though. So does Nikki as far as maturity, but at least she has been off the ranch more.
Agree with all that the villains don't seem to have much purpose. At least Bruno from LQNPA wanted his lands back. These guys just want money? Is there an exit strategy after they succeed?

I've quit commenting because I haven't had much good to say, but I have been watching. And I want to comment on something that is becoming clearer and clearer with each passing show. And that is how tragic the character of Nikki is.
I think they are doing a good job of portraying a rich girl who really wants the attention of her parents and she is not getting it. She has talked to both mom and dad, and they say they will give her more attention but they never follow through. Nelson said in this show that she has so many material things, she should be happy. Vicki said she would spend less time with work and more with Nikki, but she hasn't and Vicki is even now taking on writing a novel. Nikki is lonely and feels unloved. Her parents get her a bodyguard because they supposedly care enough about her to ensure her safety, but she would rather spend time with them and not a stranger. And she has had all the freedom to come and go as she pleased before, but now she has to have a babysitter who watches her every move. No wonder she's mad and wants to ditch him. So she turns to bulimia so she can feel like she has some semblance of control over her life, because that's the root issue for a bulimic and anorexic. With bulimia, she has complete control, unlike everything else going on in her life.

Vicki took a long ride to the city (or somewhere) where Nikki was to be so they could spend time together, but then Nikki got impulsive and went back to the mansion and threw the party with her shallow buddies. When Vicki phoned her to find out why she wasn't there, Nikki just blew her off.
Niecie- Well, too little, too late. I've seen this situation a lot in real life, the neglectful parent decides she/he finally wants a relationship with their teen, wants to connect, and the teen blows off the parent. Yes, I know Nikki said she wanted to spend time with them, but she's really angry and wants to hurt them in return. So she cuts out and stands them up. Plus, she probably doesn't trust that they will actually follow through.

Yeah.
So... I think Vic is an introverted artist who lives in her own bubble world, and these kind of people can be neglectful sometimes, but I wouldn't lay the blame on her for Nikki's problems.
1. She and Nikki have a strong bond, and that kind of relationship won't develop between a neglected child and a neglectful parent.
2. Victoria is the only member of that family who really tries to discipline, educate that girl and to give her a profession (episode one, Nikki wanted to become a professional model but she blew her first job). But Nelson and Annybally undermine all of her efforts by spoiling Nikki to death.
3. Victoria seems to be a very warm person who wants to spend quality time with her family but in the first episode both Nelson and Nikki blew her off. In my opinion Nikki doesn't want to spend mucho tiempo with her parents. She just wants to do whatever, wherever and whenever she wants.

I find the scenes of Nikki in the bathroom disturbing, so I guess they must be doing a good job with this storyline.
No idea how the sister who lost her child at birth will figure in. She's not a nasty type so its strange that she and Vic are estranged from each other.

Part two:
Nikki needs professional help. However, she also needs a meaningful purpose in her life. Because imho her biggest problem isn't the neglection (she's way past of that age when one can blame everything on parents) but the fact that she feels useless. She has zero interesting hobbies, zero profession and I guess she didn't take her education seriously, either.
And I find it annoying that she's treated like a child at home, but there's a big difference between her parents: at least Vic tries to teach her about adult life, while all Nelson does is giving her money.
As for the bodyguard issue: Vic has every right to hire someone to keep her family safe. It would bother me too, just like it bothers Nikki, but they could work things out. The problem with Guzmán is that he reacts (in my opinion) unprofessionally to the horrible treatment Nikki gives him. I don't envy him because he's in a very miserable situation, but if he can't get along with his bratty client, then he should look for another job. But he has no right to lock her up in her room or to threaten N with waking her mom up when she tried to sneak out of the house. He acts like a jailer, no wonder Nikki feels like her worst nightmare came to life.

Niecie in MD I agree about Nelson marrying Vikki for her money and power and he wants to run Meta Imagen. He is stymied though cause Anibal basically told him the other day, no way. I think maybe Anibal knows exactly why Nelson married Vikki.
Anon 2:18: I think the villans havent' really developed yet. I am glad this TN isn't LQPNA, this is more of a dramedy. We are still only in the beginning of this TN and I think as time goes by, we will find out exactly what Salsero and Kendra are really all about and who is behind them. I really don't think they are in this alone.

Now to what I think is going on with Nikki. She is an only child, and was probably spoiled by her Grandpapa Anibal and her Mama. Nelson I think just kinda threw money at her. I know he had tears in his eyes when she let him have it, but I don't think he really cares about her. I think she does have a strong bond with her Mama and Anibal too.
Cathyx brought up an interesting point about the bulimia, but also it involves self image. Nikki has been surrounded by models, probably all of her life. She is measuring herself against them, and finds herself lacking. This is how she feels, cause in the first epi she bailed on the photo shoot, after seeing the other models. She needs to go into therapy cause her skewed image of herself is going to kill her if she doesn't get help. She already had a slight heart attack from the bulimia.
As far as Guzmancito goes, I think Nikki really wanted him to stop her from bringing Vladdy to her room. I think in a way she is trying to push him to see how far she can push him. His whole purpose is to keep her safe, but she doesn't get that. She thinks he is a jailer. I think they need to sit down with Vikki and have his guard duties put before both of them, so that there is a clear definition of what his job is. I really think Guzmancito cares about her, or else he wouldn't be going off on her all the time. I think he either senses, or knows that she has a problem, as far as the food goes. I think he will be the first one to find out, just my opinion.

I also like the bit of the mystic in this novela. Psychics, Chinese Horoscopes, automatic writing, it's fun in a way.

I think there's an opportunity in this novela for a "cheers/salud" moment (like in the Amor Bravio recaps) for every time somebody leaves food or drink untouched. How many times do people walk away from elaborate tea services without drinking, or from sumptuous breakfast tables without taking a bite?

Vivi- you are so right about Nikki taking responsiblity for her own actions, even I tend to forget she is of age. She reminds me so much of a little girl in a woman's body. I really think Guzmancito will be the one to really help her. He spends 24/7 with her and sees things noone else sees.I too think she would have her mama Vikki's support and also Anibal's. Even Tomasina likes her. Maybe something will happen that wakes her up but she's already had a close call.
I forgot to mention that there was one funny thing that Niki said. Usually most of her fresa speak annoys me, but when she was speaking with motorcycle boy on the phone, and trying to emphasize that he is her ex, she told him that he comes after 'w' in the alphabet. Ha! I thought that was pretty funny.
