Amorcito Corazón Discussion #159-163 Nov. 26-30

Thanks to Sylvia and Güera, here's Monday's episode.  Muchas gracias, amigas!

When Moncho massages Adelita’s ankle the sparkly love music plays for her. Twice. Is she finally seeing Moncho in a new light? Such a cute scene. Later they go out for ice cream with Tuqueque. It also comes out that Moncho got the rose for Adelita, not his jefa.

Zoe finds long, blonde hairs on Felipe’s sweatshirt. Fearing she is obsessively jealous she logs onto celosos.com and takes an online test “Is your spouse unfaithful?” Not a surprise, she answers “yes” to every question.
Poncho pepper sprays Ricky again and dumps him onto a construction site or some equally rocky and uncomfortable place. The police arrive but Ricky has already left. This is just as well because Doris didn’t agree with Poncho’s plan, fearing Ricky would implicate her if he was arrested. Poncho promises to be with Doris to help protect her against Ricky, but later they have a falling out and Poncho leaves.

The scared son of the dead engineer admits to the authorities his father was at fault for the accident. Fernando is informed that his firm is no longer liable for the accident. Isa calls Jorrible to give him the good news; his pasty white self is in a hot tub with some nubile young babe. Gah, he’s gross. Later Fer and Isa go out for una copa to celebrate; the usual conversation ensues.

There is a very cute musical montage that shows a month passing by. Poor Zoe is at her birthing classes all by herself, Leopoldo leaves, Babs takes driving lessons and hides from Lala, Mauricio sells drugs to earn enough money to buy a car for Babs, Moncho continues his charm lessons with Beba, lots of shots of our characters being with the wrong people and pining for their true loves.

I love watching Adelita & Moncho slowly discovering each other. They are also cute together with Tuqueque. There was the cute moment when a vendor mistakenly called Adelita Senora because he thought they were a family -- mother, father, child.

Lucia leaves to take her vows. She tells Willy it’s time to go their separate ways. Willy asks her to invite him to the mass. Later he very frankly asks God what’s up with with the nun whose eyes so clearly say they love him? (Him being Willy.)

Fer rejects Manuela’s advances. Again. Later she admits to Hortensia that Fer has never touched her. Horny's eyes bug out.

Idrogo gets a copy of all the calls made from Jaibo’s phone and is very surprised to discover Doris’s number amongst the lot.

So Willy and Adelita are going to the movies together -- just a friendly outing to help him forget his sadness about Lucia being days away from taking her vows. At first I thought that it was another of the many scenes of misunderstanding where Moncho sees Willy & Adelita together laughing and acts as if he found them in a clinch. BUT Adelita suggests that they invite Moncho to go with them too. So now I'm curious... How will the threesome play out???

Hi Karen. Not only did I enjoy my own Thanksgiving and its requisite leftovers but I went to a friend's house last night and enjoyed her leftovers as well. So yes, I think I made the most of my Thanksgiving.

I enjoyed today's episode; not only the fun sequence with Adelita's ankle but also Ricky getting pepper sprayed and the cute montage of everybody's lives with the musical accompaniment. I typically don't like those montages because they usually feel like filler, but this one actually showed some meaninful stuff. Plus I liked the song, whatever it was.

Hey Sylvia I'm glad your Thanksgiving and post-fun was good to you.

Sorry about the recap. I'll add more later today. If someone else shares, I'll move it up front.

I will take a shot at what I remember from the episode. Please feel free to add or change anything that I forgot or didn't get quite rig

Uh, that would be "didn't get quite rigHT". Sorry, new laptop, very sensitive.

Thanks Karen and Sylvia. I think you got most of it.

The montage was very cute. Often they are just a series of romantic scenes to show the development of a relationship. But this one showed some real plot developments.

I love watching Adelita & Moncho slowly discovering each other. They are also cute together with Tuqueque. There was the cute moment when a vendor mistakenly called Adelita Senora because he thought they were a family -- mother, father, child.

Thanks so much for the recap Sylvia. I haven't seen the episode yet, but I'm looking forward to seeing the Adelita/Moncho scenes. They sound delightful.

Zoe just needs to hire a P.I. already. She would very soon get real proof of Felipe's infidelity.

The scenes with Moncho and Adelita simply have to be watched. Believe me, my mini description doesn't begin to capture the chemistry between those two. As Karen noted originally, the ankle rubbing scene is especially funny because Moncho's pals are completely egging him on.

Güera, thanks for those added details. I think they are both important because they hint at what might be coming ahead. We hope!

Thanks for the summary and posting.

Adelita and Moncho are adorable. I especially liked when Juancho was encouraging Moncho.

Poor Juancho, seeing Marisolame back with Knuckles. It would be bad enough if she moved on and got together with some other nice upstanding guy, but KNUCKLES?! It's like she's saying, "Hey, Juancho, I have ZERO standards whatsoever, and I still won't get back together with you!" OUCH.

How is it that a month has gone by and Fer still hasn't filed for divorce? This is very lazy writing. We don't even have a reason for him not to have done it, now that the company crisis is over.

Thanks so much Sylvia for your recap.

Güera - I hope you are right and do think that Adelita is definitely falling for Moncho, yeah!

Vivi - ITA that Zoe needs to hire that PI ASAP. S/he will nail F5 in 24 hours.

Julia - Yes, poor Juancho indeed. Your description of Marisilly is spot on. Why Knuckles! Oh right I have no standards and won't work hard enough to find another cute guy in this TN. Basta. My hope is Knuckles gets busted for drugs and then Barf rats him out.

The writers are supposedly addressing Fer's divorce issue.

Did I hear correctly that Tuqueque has a friend named Wicho? Or something like that; not sure how it's spelled. Oy, these names. At one point I figured out which of the cockatoos was Chicho and which was Nacho but now I can't remember.

Wicho? Oh my, I didn't hear that. So we have Moncho, Juancho, Poncho, Nacho, Chicho and now possibly Wicho? Are there any other 'Chos?

If athey keep this up we're all going to Cho--ke.

Güera

Cho-king on Nuts; the theme of the novela in so many ways.

I figured it out again: Nacho is the lighter-haired cockatoo, and Chicho is the darker-haired one. Thank you, gents, for using names yesterday.

I was going to write a summary, but now I can't remember much of what happened.

Fer told Manuela he wants a divorce, and she got very drunk and danced with Lu Chong (that part was very funny), and then she smashed a glass and cut up her wrists and Fer and Poncho hauled her to the hospital.

Doris and Poncho made up and announced to the girls that they're in love and want to live together. The Marias are not happy about Doris and Aldo living someplace else.

Cecilio told FFFFF to shape up, yet again. FFFFF seems disinclined to do so. He's also jealous over the way Zoe raves about Cecilio. He says surely if Zoe had met Cecilio first, she would have glued herself to him and never left!

Moncho still thinks Adelita is in love with Willy and he refused to go to the movies with them and spent most of the episode pouting. Beba said she's disappointed in him. Willy has taken to calling Beba "Baby".

Lala has signed Barf and Juancho up for pre-marriage counseling at the church. Barf is refusing to go along with the wedding plan. She hacked a piece off the wedding dress Lala is sewing. Knuckles seems to have come up with a car for her.

Oh, also: Isa seems to be getting fed up with Jorrible's bossy imperiousness. He wanted to go away for a romantic weekend (because that worked out so well for him the last time) and she said she can't because Lucia is taking her vows this weekend. So Jorrible just invited himself to go along with Isa to the mass, even though Isa tried to tell him she's not sure it's okay to bring along extra people and all. She seemed annoyed and she told Zoe she just isn't into him.

Thanks Julia. "Cho-king on nuts", hee. I like it.

Whose room was Manuela in when she passed out? Did you guys notice all the fan pics? Was that a poster of Justin Bieber or the guy from Twighlight? I couldn't tell.

I hated how the Maris blamed themselves for Mani's meltdown.

I watched the episode online and the last scene was Manuela's doctor making a recommendation to Fer about Manuela. Was that the same last scene on TV?

Oh, yes, the doc said Manuela needs serious inpatient treatment. Fer asked if she couldn't be treated at home (WHY?!) and the doc said that is a really bad idea, because she is not only dangerous to herself, but to others as well. Think of your children, Fer!

Manwitch cut herself up and bled in Marisol's room. I'm pretty sure it's the Twilight guy on the wall; I've been inspecting the decor for awhile now. She also has a poster or something of The Strokes up there.

Thanks Julia. Will Fer finally get that nut case out of the house now that a real doctor recommends it? Now that Manwich tried to kill herself and bled all over his daughter's room? Somehow I doubt it, but we'll see.

I noticed there were also a couple of strategically product placed cosmetics on the vanity. There was a Dove body wash commercial during the online capitulo so that is probably one of the items. Not sure about the others. This program is a lot more subtle than the blatant Tostachos that everyone was eating in Abismo.

OK -- so we finally have Moncho & Adelita both hot for each other -- but can we have a simple little bit of happiness? Oh no. C'mon writers we know that we have to wait to the end to get the pain partners together -- but how about a sweet little romance to keep us happy?

Telenovela world seems to be full of meddling mothers. Moncho's Mom just needs to stop her speculating and announcing to Moncho how happy she is that Adelita & Willy are novios. Novios? Because she saw them hugging? I wondered the other evening why the guys had to use someone else's phone -- and why the woman at the counter had to be the one who made the call, Now we know that it was a major plot device. When Moncho gets totally sloshed & cries over the woman that he loves but who doesn't love him -- his mother jumps to the conclusion that the woman on the phone is the woman he is crying over. --And, of course, his mother has to tell Adelito about the other woman. So now we have both love-besotten partners oping because they each think that the other is in love with someone else.

Then there is that other standard telenovela plot devise -- the galan makes all his buds swear that they will not tell anyone that it is Adelita that he loves. So we have weeks of watching their mooning instead of some more cute lovey-dovey moments.

Then there is Hortensia. What a bitch. Manuela obviously needs this internment. She is totally wacko. Fer is right when he takes a large part of the blame --he did play with Manuela's affections. He did use the marriage as a revenge tactic against Isa. But for Hortensia to lay all the blame for Manuela's illness on Fer is outrageous.

Manuela's reaction to waking up in the manicomia was very well done. She went wild and had to be sedated again. Then when Fer came in and spoke with her in her sedated state her mumbling and confusion seemed very real to me.

The doctor has already hit upon her two big issues -- her conviction that Sofia stole Fer from her and her feeling that Hortensia never loved her. But-- Manuela is so manipulative (and has experience with psychiatric hospitals) that I expect her to fool the doctor and get herself released. She asked the doc what she needed to do to get out of restraints -- and he pretty much gave her a blueprint for what she needs to do & say in order to seem sane.

I only hope that Fer doesn't fall for the blame game and decide that he has to stay with Manuela in order to maintain her mental stability.

Barf showed up with Juancho & Lala for the pre-nup counseling. She's pretty in your face with everyone about not wanting this wedding.

Ten there's Jorge planning to get Isa in his bed by trickery if she won't come willingly. He has told her that they have an important "business" meeting with a possible new "client" in a hotel suite -- and she should dress up elegantly to make a good impression. I think I could safely bet the house that there is no client. A hotel Suite? Really?

Güera

Thanks for el summary!

I had to tune out some of the screeching. I thought they should lock up Horny along with her witchy daughter and try to force some sanity into both of them. DramaMama may not harm herself the same way Manwitch does, but she doesn't have any better grasp of reality or personal responsibility. I was agog that she was blaming Fer for this and telling him that being affectionate to Manuela would fix things. She KNOWS her daughter is far off the rails and has been since long before Fer was on the scene. Does she actually want her granddaughters in danger? SICK.

I'm kind of bummed that Moncho and Adelita won't just talk to each other and get together already, but Moncho's hair the morning after his self-medication was hilarious. And Irma needs to butt out. Since when does a hug mean novios?

I'm also a little annoyed that Padre is going along with pushing Barf and Juancho into marrying when it's clear neither of them wants that. When is a problem ever solved by creating more problems?

The previews for tonight look grim, but I hope this will be curtains for Jorrible when Isa realizes what he's done. How will he try to squirm out of it?

Thursday -- I did a recap but the only way I know to post is in the comment box. It was too long so I'm going to try to post it in two parts.

Lots of coupling and uncoupling in Thursday's episode. Luckily Fernando heard about the "client meeting" and thought that it was ridiculous that he wasn't told about it since he is after all the company president. Then Isa (looking mighty fetching in her party dress) realizes that she left the address of the meeting back at the office. She calls Susy who reads the directions to her over the phone & Fer overhears. So he goes to the meeting. Meanwhile Jorge is busy drugging Isa's glass of wine -- if he had a mustache he would be twirling it, the villain. Isa arrives. Jprge offers her a glass of vino and in no time she is mareado. Jorge invites her to sack out on the couch and can hardly wait to get down to business. As soon as she closes her eyes he begins undressing her. This wakes her up & she is screaming "sueltame" as Fer walks in the door. He decks Jorrible and rescues the fair damsel. There seems to have been more to Jorrible's plan than date rape because his henchmen show up and he threatens revenge on both Fer & Isa.

Isa is too embarrassed to show up back at home in such a state so she asks Fer to take her someplace else. The uber-romantic love nest to be which he chooses is ¿que, que, what? The Office???? But utilitarian though the space ay be it turns out to be enough for these two & they are soon nibbling each other all over. Isa has finally decided that fate ordains that they should be together. She doesn't want to go home until dawn -- but the chair that they just christened is so uncomfortable that as the episode draws to a close they plan to head off to a hotel. ---Coupling #1

Meanwhile Felipe shows up for a date with the lovely young thing he met in the park and she has a surprise for him -- a father who is ready to welcome him into the family and who is big, burly and a cop. Afraid that Papa will have him marched to the altar if he doesn't get out of there Felipe texts Cecilio to explain the danger he is in & to ask Cecilio to call him & pretend its an emergency. Cecilio & Zoe are about to enter the pre-natal class but he makes the call before he meets her inside. Then he apparently stashes his phone temporarily in Zoe's purse. Felipe shows up late for the class & the woman in charge wants to know who the heck he is since Zoe has only been to class alone or with Cecilio. Both men stay -- each one holding Zoe by the hand.

Later Ceilio berates himself for being in love with a forbidden woman -- and confesses same to the bartender. When he realizes that his phone is still in Zoe's purse he calls Felipe -- on the land line -- Zoe picks up too, checks the message, lands on Felipe like a load of bricks and leaves cursing both Felipe & Cecilio. Uncoupling #1

Barf is in the pre-nup class but she rebels, refuses to marry a guy who is in love with someone else & runs out to meet Mauricio at the auto agency -- too late. When she gets home & everyone jumps on her she decides to move out and go to the casa hogar taking her big ad of Mauricio money with her. No wedding for her. Uncoupling #2

Adelita comes home from work, lugging all her bags of equipment. Moncho tells her that he knows that she & Willy are novios because his mother told him. Adelita denies that there is anything between her & Willy. She almost confesses her love for Moncho -- but instead leads him to believe that it's someone from the gym. Moncho storms out.

His mother notices that Adelita is sad & has a heart to heart with her, learning that Adelita is in love with Moncho. But they think it's hopeless because he's in love with someone else. So Adelita decides she should go back to her village. Good news-- Tuqueque overhears the conversation. He may be the one that brings them together.
Coupling #2 barely avoided.

Jorge shows up at Isa's door with her purse and gives Sarita a cock & bull story about how the meeting was a fake because he had a ring to give Isa & the evening was when he was going to propose. So now Sarita once again thinks that Fer is a brute. Jorgea sends Sarita to bed & sits up waiting for fer & Isa. In the previews we see that when they finally show up Jorge is still there & Isa tells him that she doesn't like him "that way."
Uncoupling #3

No Poncho/ Doris sightings. coupling still intact.

Manuela wakes up in the manicomo to find herself staring at Sofia's ghost. Sofia accuses her of lying to the doctor and making Sofia look like the bad guy man stealer. Sofia says something weird -- that if Manuela wants to make her the evil one then OK she will be. Don't know just where that is going but we have one more uncoupling -- Manuela from her brain.

Güera

Julia and Güera thanks so much for your recaps. Now that my classes are finished for the week I can catch up and comment.

Julia - the Manny and Lo Chong dance sequence was hilarious. It's too bad she can't have more fun scenes like that.

I liked that they gave him a chance to be more than the cartoon caricature version of himself he usually is. Lu Chong is funny and should have more of a role than bowing and dashing at hyperspeed accompanied by gongs.

Wow, I'm finally catching up this week (I had company)! Thanks for all the recaps

Wow - things are really moving along. Looks like several big changes this week: EWM internado, Moncho and Adelita fall in love, ReIcky out of the way (at least for a while), Isa might, just might, be figuring out Jorge is a scumbag, Isa might, just might, be realizing she should have already broken up with Jorge anyway, and the GREAT BIGGIE - Zoe finally catches F5, but oops, she catches Cecilio too in his complicity.

How many episodes do we have left? LOL!

I'm glad Tuqueque overheard that conversation between Irma and Adelita. He'll tell Moncho about it, right?

Can Fer conveniently get the divorce while Mani is still locked up? That would be handy. Actually, can't he get an annulment without even needing her signature, on the grounds that when they married he was still recovering from being poisoned with something that causes loss of will?

I find it ridiculous that the professionals at the manicomio always yell at Manuela to calm down. Has anyone ever been calmed by being yelled at to calm down? Shouldn't the manicomio staff be better at dealing with hysterical people?

Julia - ITA about the dancing sequence giving Lu an opportunity to be a real characters.

And it would be great if Fer could a divorce. But there are too many episodes remaining to allow that to happen now.

Lala wanting Barf to marry - on the one level is the old-fashioned b/c of the baby. But I don't know why people don't realize that one act of poor judgement does not deserve another. Barf/Juancho marrying will be a disaster.

And yes Tuqueque does tell his Dad, yeah!

Audrey - Yes the week actually did have the plot start moving again which is a shock to me b/c we have 43 episodes remaining (if the 206 number is correct).

Güera, thanks for the recaps.

Julia, ITA about the psychological "professionals". There was just way too much yelling from everyone. Thank goodness for mute. I was rather obsessed with Fabiola's huge tongue. That chick's got a set of chops all right. I'm always amazed at how terrible people look when they're angry or screaming, but how different and beautiful they look when smiling.

Off to watch today's episode. Hooray, it starts off with stupid Felipe getting decked by the taxi driver.

Wow! I haven't had a chance to catch up this week yet. That's what I'll do this weekend. But it sounds like a LOT of stuff happened this week. Not all good, but a lot. Thanks for all the recaps ladies.

Hey 43 episodes left actually is not that much. They have to start wrapping a few things up, or there will be too big a flurry at the end. It's probably just enough time for Isa and Fer not to break up again, yet the existing obstacles (including Jorge on a revenge trip) can still take that long to iron out thus preventing them from really getting together. Just speculation on my part.

So glad Zoe is in the know, and I loved the taxi driver in shining armor too - that was awesome!

ARGH. Why didn't Isa and Fer say anything to Jorge or Sarita about the fact that Jorrible roofied Isa? There was little doubt; she was quite obviously drugged. Fer, who never thinks, should have grabbed the wine glasses on his way out of that hotel room, or called the police immediately from the hall and had the wine tested and made an accusation. How long will we have to put up with that toad Jorrible? He isn't even an interesting villain.

Tidbit of info from Thursday: Nacho has the hots for Juanita, and Chicho likes Jazmín, but they're afraid to make a move because they think Lucía the Miserable will murder them if they go near her casa hogar ladies.

Maybe Fer should just move to a polygamist compound where his lifestyle would be accepted. He could have three wives: Doris for family stability and mature supportive conversations, Isa for swooning and rolls in the hay, and Manwitch to fight with.

Julie- LOL!!!!!

Julie, your polygamist compound. Too Funny!

So we have finally got one couple straightened out -- almost -- the chase scene & the comic obstacles ( out of gas, out of money) are just fun to watch now that we know that Moncho's eyes are open at last. The -Chos at the gym were so funny -- as was the reveal by Tuqueque on the way to school. Lots of fun.

So Manuela is spitting out her pills & has figured out how to fool the docs. She'll soon be out in the world creating mayhem.

What do you suppose Jorge is up to with the mysterious "encargo" he keeps talking about?

I think Audrey is right that Fer & Isa are not going to separate again but that they will have tons of obstacles to overcome -- together this time -- before the finale.

Thanks for the reminder, Julie, about the -Chos each having eyes for one of the women in the casa hogar.

Güera

Thoughts on Thursday - I can't stand Barf but I'm completely with her on not marrying Juancho. Aside from the fact that currently she really isn't pregnant (I'm thinking she will get pregnant from Knuckles), her marriage would be farce. Why can't Lala send her away to have the baby some place else or adoption. But marriage as the answer for unplanned pregnancy is not a solution.

Julia - thanks for the casa hogar tidbit (the Chos are right about Lucia the hitting nun) and loved your polygamist scenario.

Güera - thanks for your Friday recap. It was cute but I getting a bit miffed with the writers using the SAME plots to separate couples and not let them get together at all. Just missing someone on the bus scenario is Marisol and Juancho all over again. At least this time the running around was funny while the first one was more anxiety producing.

Thanks again to all the recappers!

I also couldn't believe that the idiot twins, Fer and Isa, didn't bring up the wine drugging when Jorge claimed, in front of Sarita, that the "meeting" was just a surprise proposal. Those two so can NOT think on their feet! Hopeless!

Wow - EWM admitted to the doc that she's seeing and even arguing with her dead sister, and has been for years.

Poor Zoe. F5 trying to claim friend preference with Cecilio - what a jerk. Cecilio did deserve this - he wasn't really protecting Zoe from harm, he was letting the harm continue. Too bad he couldn't see clearly about this.

That was great having Tuqueque set people straight. Hilarious reactions. I hope it doesn't take Moncho too long to find/rescue Adelita.

Julia - I LOVED your polygamy suggestion. Fer is so stoopid, he just doesn't get that he should make getting unmarried a priority.

How nice it has been having Jaibo and ReIcky out of the loop! I was so tired of those two. Now if only we could get rid of Mauricio......

Audrey - Yes I too was shocked EWM admitted so much to the Dr. She might be not taking her meds but she's still acting bad enough to stay locked up.

Fer's stupidity has come to bite him in the butt. If he had divorced EWM immediately, he wouldn't be trying to get rid of her when its obvious she's crazy. And Horny being a witch after placating EWM for years and not getting her medical treatment.

And yes it was great not having to deal w/rIcky and Jaibo. Now if Knuckles would go away and its about time.

Poor, naive Mr. C. He should have seen it coming and if he continues to help F5, it will be ridiculous. We are at the point where he just needs to admit he loves Zoe and hope F5 can deal with it.

With both Moncho and Adelita stranded, I hope they find one another quick. We need at least one good couple together.

LOL, Karen, "Fer's stupidity has come to bite him in the butt" could be the title of this telenovela!

Oh, I loved that scene on Thursday when F5 visited his "girlfriend's" apartment and met her daddy - the retired police comandante from Sinaloa - LOL! Hey, when's the boda? LOL!

So fleeing that is the only thing that would get F5 to actually attend Zoe's birthing class - geez! So funny when the teacher didn't know what to do with two men for Zoe - LOL!

OK. Watching right now. The "Chos" are really funny drunk. Has anyone else noticed that the actor who plays Chicho (the dark haired one) and the actor who plays Felipe kind of look alike? They could play brothers.

Audrey - yes "Fer's stupidity has come to bite him in the butt" could be the title of this telenovela! The sad thing is that it seems he become stupid gradually. At the start of this TN, he was a rather likeable galan. I chalk it up to the dreaded too many episodes/possible extension.

Vivi - good call on Chicho and F5 looking alike I had not thought about it. Also since I like Chicho and dislike F5 I won't like for similarities ;)
