Amores Verdaderos #7 Fri 11/16/12 The Hawt Guys Each Make a Decision; Salsero and Kendra Come Up With A New Plan
This evening we have our two hawt guys and each has to make a decision, there are some slaps goin' on, Twinkle toes, the evil minion, but hawt guy Salsero and his side kick Kendra come up with a new mis planes and Paula learns some news she isn't happy with. For further details please read on.
Balverna Mansion: Nikki's Bedroom: There is a mother-daughter conference goin' on. Ms Vikki knows her daughter is anemic, questions if she is eating, and of course Nikki, is lying thru her teeth and says she is. Ms Vikki knows better and tells her daughter the doc told her Nikki is anemic. She even makes a show of eating, but no dice. Ms Vikki wants her to take care of herself. Nikki tries to tell her Mama she is nervous and that's why she fainted and fell in the pool. Her Mama isn't buying it. Of course, Nikki doesn't like the gorilla her Mama hired to watch over her twenty four/seven. Nikki wants him gone like yesterday like fired. Ms Vikki has to explain to her that she is in danger from the bad men that tried to kidnap her, they could get the idea to kidnap Nikki too! She cannot go out on the street without a bodyguard. Her Mama wants her to see a nutritionist, this recapper thinks she needs a good dose of therapy for her image and dietary issues. Nikki doesn't agree but says ok, take me to a doctor, you'll see I'm fine. Then there is the chisme Guzmancito told Ms Vikki about that bad boyfriend Rommel and about the fight. Nikki wants to know who told her that? Nikki has had enough and wants to sleep. There was a sound of the doorbell, and Tomasina interrupts the convo to tell Ms Vikki that Commandante Robles has arrived with her Papa Anibal. Ms Vikki is concerned that the declaration she gave at the Red Cross Hospital wasn't enough, but she tells Tomasina to escort her Papa Anibal, and Commandante Robles to the library, along with Twinkle Toes Salsero and Arriaga our Angel. So Nikki suddenly changes her tune and wants her Mama to send Guzmancito up so she can thank him for saving her life. Guzmancito is right outside the door, and Ms Vikki and Tomasina go, and Guzmancito comes in. Nikki asks him to close the door, please, Ruh Roh. Guzmancito asks how she is feeling and she says Super, in English, smiles and slaps the crap out of him. She lets him have it about his gossiping to her Mama about Rommel, how she thinks he is there not as a bodyguard but a gossip machine, he is paid very well to protect her, and stay out of her bidness. Guzmancito has had enough, he informs Nikki that from today on he won't be involved in her bidness anymore. Slam goes the door as he goes. Arriaga, our Angel, tells them he will fully cooperate and he is doing well. Seems the mall camera caught images of the vehicle, and the plates which were stolen, and several figures of the men, but they aren't clear. The Commandante wants to know if they can identify any pics of these men, using the computer he brought. They look at the pics and are quite unsure, until the pic comes up of the guy with the scar on his face. Twinkle Toes is very nervous watching them, he seems to be, wait for it, sweating! Once they identify scar face, the Commandante pulls up his rap sheet. Seems the scar face's name is El Marcado and he has a rap sheet a mile long. Body Guards Quarters, Guzmancito's Room: Our hawt guy is packin' his things he has had enough already of Nikki the shrew. Grand Hallway with a Twisting Staircase: I know what your thinkin'. Staircase of Doom, we've all seen them in TN'S but Lili is screaming for Ms Vikki at the bottom, not the top. Yelling at the top of her lungs. Lili is cryin' and Tomasina comes in with a tray and wants to know who the heck she is. Lili tells her. Lili continues to scream for Ms Vikki. Ms Vikki finally comes in and tells her to stop the screaming already! Nelson comes down that staircase, wanting to know QTH is goin on. Lili wants Ms Vikki to release her Papa, and Ms Vikki tells Nelson who Lili is. Lili is under the impression they are keeping her Papa kinda locked up,but they say that isn't the case, and Lili tells Ms Vikki he is cause of the debt he owes her. Angel and his wife come in and tell Lili to stop. Lili promises Ms Vikki her Papa will pay back every penny he owes but she wants him back home with her, so in the mornings when she wakes up she can see him again. The Angel tries to stop her but she continues on that at night she gives her a goodnight kiss, is Lili like six years old? How old is she anyways? She tells Ms Vikki she really misses her Papa and he almost died. Chrissie aplogizes to Vikki, it's just that Lili is very sensitive where her Papa is concerned and the Angel also swears by his word it won't happen again. Then Ms Vikki releases the Angel from his debt cause he saved her life once again. But the Angel isn't happy, he still feels he owes her. But Vikki is adamant that the Angel can go back home with is family. Lili kisses her hands, while Vikki tells her it's ok, you don't have to do that.The Angel says, sorry can't accept I gave you my word. Nelson wants the Angel to accept what Vikki is offering. No debt, it's all paid and Vikki says she trusted him and she wasn't wrong. He still isn't down with that, but Vikki insists she is in HIS debt and to do what he has to do. He finally thanks her and Lili wants to go home, but Vikki tells them to spend the night, they can have something to eat, and Angel can get the rest he needs. Nelson wants the Angel to come to the library to give him a check for the days he has worked, but Angel doesn't want to do that. Nelson insists it's the least he can do. Exercise Balcony: Nikki is working out, again. Sweating profusely and gets a call from a friend that wants her to come hang out. Lili and the Flower Room: Lili has discovered the flower room and is just enchanted. She is in her element. She touches all the plants and even names a bansai tree, which she calls Sylvester! She is lovingly touching the bonsai tree when Guzmancito comes upon her. She asks who he is and he says I am asking you who you are and what are you doing here, in his tough guy voice.
Kendra's Apartment: Twinkle Toes has come to see Kendra. He is witching to Kendra that the Angel quit today and she thinks his planes are stupid cause none of them have worked out. Whose idea was the kidnap anyways, Wasn't it Kendra's Idea???? Twinkle Toes says not his fault and Kendra says oh, yeah it is all the karate cowboy's fault, lol. Body Guards Quarters, Guzmancito's Room: Our hawt guy is packin' his things he has had enough already of Nikki the shrew. Guzmancito tells Twinkle Toes Salsero, who is lovin', er lookin' at himself in the mirror, that he isn't comfortable anymore and TTS tells him well you can always quit. Guzmancito wants to know why TTS works for the Balvanera's? Cause he likes the money! Guzmancito says he likes the money too, but he is goin' he's had enough, well, you get the pic. He has a flashback of that slap. He throws the clothes out of his closet.
Grand Hallway with a Twisting Staircase: I know what your thinkin'. Staircase of Doom, we've all seen them in TN'S but Lili is screaming for Ms Vikki at the bottom, not the top. Yelling at the top of her lungs. Lili is cryin' and Tomasina comes in with a tray and wants to know who the heck she is. Lili tells her. Lili continues to scream for Ms Vikki. Ms Vikki finally comes in and tells her to stop the screaming already! Nelson comes down that staircase, wanting to know QTH is goin on. Lili wants Ms Vikki to release her Papa, and Ms Vikki tells Nelson who Lili is. Lili is under the impression they are keeping her Papa kinda locked up,but they say that isn't the case, and Lili tells Ms Vikki he is cause of the debt he owes her. Angel and his wife come in and tell Lili to stop. Lili promises Ms Vikki her Papa will pay back every penny he owes but she wants him back home with her, so in the mornings when she wakes up she can see him again. The Angel tries to stop her but she continues on that at night she gives her a goodnight kiss, is Lili like six years old? How old is she anyways? She tells Ms Vikki she really misses her Papa and he almost died. Chrissie aplogizes to Vikki, it's just that Lili is very sensitive where her Papa is concerned and the Angel also swears by his word it won't happen again. Then Ms Vikki releases the Angel from his debt cause he saved her life once again. But the Angel isn't happy, he still feels he owes her. But Vikki is adamant that the Angel can go back home with is family. Lili kisses her hands, while Vikki tells her it's ok, you don't have to do that.The Angel says, sorry can't accept I gave you my word. Nelson wants the Angel to accept what Vikki is offering. No debt, it's all paid and Vikki says she trusted him and she wasn't wrong. He still isn't down with that, but Vikki insists she is in HIS debt and to do what he has to do. He finally thanks her and Lili wants to go home, but Vikki tells them to spend the night, they can have something to eat, and Angel can get the rest he needs. Nelson wants the Angel to come to the library to give him a check for the days he has worked, but Angel doesn't want to do that. Nelson insists it's the least he can do. After Nelson goes, the Angel hugs Lili and thanks her, and he goes.
Outside Balvanera Mansion: Twinkle Toes is calling his henchman El Marcado to lay low and not go out, the cops are lookin' for him, doncha know. He sent all the other people away already. Twinkle Toes promises to help him and he'll have news for him soon. Yeah right.
Flower Room: Ms Vikki is hugging herself and thinking of the hawt Angel hugging her. She has her arms almost around herself with a longing look in her eyes, just thinking about "her" Angel. Now she thinks of him, with a bare chest, hugging her in the mall parking lot. I bet she is wondering what she will do without him. Hmmm??? Ms Vikki is hugging herself again, just thinking about that barechested hug, yummy, and by the way, why did the Angel close his eyes while he was huggin' her???? Anways Tomasina comes in and scares Vikki and now Tomasina is hugging herself and talking about the Angel how strong and how much courage, and is it ok if she talks about him this way? Lol. And now he is leaving boo hiss, well not boo hiss, but they aren't happy. Tomasina tells Vikki that Guzman wants to see her. Bring him in she says. Guzmancito comes in says he is a bodyguard not a babysitter and Vikki is confused. She thought that Nikki had apologized to Guzmancito. He doesn't want to go into details but that's it he quits! He says he is done, stick a fork in him,not really but he is quite upset. Vikki wants him to stay, she knows her daughter is a handful, if she were in his shoes, she could see his point, but she is desperate, please don't leave now. Stay as Nikki's bodyguard, ask and anything you want you get. He says anything, yes anything she says! Ha!
Leo and Beatriz' Place: Beatriz is lookin' at the want ads and highlighting some of them. Leo comes in and she hides the paper under the tablecloth. He is home early cause the bar he works in had few customers and his boss closed early to spray for bugs, I think. He also asked about his son. He went to sleep already. Anyways, she asks if he wants dinner. She starts making it and he finds the paper under the tablecloth. He gets really pithed off and grabs her by the hair and asks her what the hell this is about? He doesn't want her to work, period. She just wants to help him out with the expenses of the home. She won't neglect their son, she'll work around his schedule, and then Leo socks Beatriz in the jaw. I wish that Beatriz had kicked him in the family jewels, jus' sayin'. Poor Beatriz is crying her eyes out, holds her hand over her mouth and continues to cry while he has stalked off. Where is that cast iron skillet for his head, jus' sayin'. Beatriz goes to the bedroom where Leo already is. She looks in the mirror and she has a honking bruise on her face. Did she remember the cast iron skillet, Nah, but she is upset. She is holding ice to her face to make the swelling go down. He is tryin to get a little somethin somethin from her like make up sex, are you kidding me???? QTF is that???? He claims he hit her, cause she made him do it, as if!!!!! He is forcing himself on top of her and is kissing her and she is fighting him off. What a A$$HAT this guy is!!!!!
Back in Nikki's Bedroom: Vikki wants Nikki to apologize to Guzmancito for whatever she has done to him. Nikki won't, no siree bob! As a matter of fact he can disappear into zero for all she cares. He can do anything but be her bodyguard. Vikki insists she apologize and not only that he is stayin and that's it, sucks to be you. Nikki is like but Mommy, not buts young lady this is an order not a request. I hired him to protect my most valuable thing I have in my life. Nikki is mad cause she thinks she can take care of herself. Vikki doesn't agree, they have already tried to kidnap Vikki twice and who knows how many other attempts there will be. Nikki finally gets it and doesn't want to lose her Mama. She finally convinces Nikki to apologize if not for herself then for her Mama.
Body Guard Quarters, Well lo and behold, Nikki has come to see Guzmancito! She apologizes to him and he pretends he didn't hear her and she has to say it again. He doesn't think she is sorry at all and he wants to hear it again, with more emotion this time. Way to go Guzmancito. She does and asks him please not to quit. He starts smiling and says then he can't refuse a beggin' woman, and he laughs right in her face. He keeps laughing and takes his leave. Nikki is pithed. She calls him an idiot, after he has left of course, and he will regret that laugh!
Kitchen: The Angel, Chrissie, Lili, Jean Marie, Twinkle Toes, that wears his sunglasses at night, and Polita are enjoying that dinner Jean Marie has cooked up. All except Salsero of course. They are talking about Lili convincing Vikki to let him go home, and then Salsero tells them Guzman is leaving too. Oh, ay yi yi from Polita, that is her hunk of man, doncha know. Tomasina is there too. Jean Marie asks Lili if she has a boyfriend? The Angel says of course not! Tomasina talks about the Chinese Horoscope again, something about a buffalo and a cock I think, that is in rooster, y'all now. Something about Angel being a tiger and maybe Chrissie being a boar? Anyways, Lili is going for a walk, she ate too much. Chrissie and the Angel thank them for the dinner and they go. Tomasina remarks it's a shame Arriaga is goin' and Mr. Sunglasses says noone is indispensible in this life. Ha! Jean Marie makes faces behind Salsero's back and Polita gives Twinkle Toes the stink eye.
Anibal's and Paula's Love Nest: Paula wants to know if Anibal is more relaxed now, he had such a tough day, doncha know. First his granddaughter had an accident, then someone tried to kidnap his daughter, but it's all good now. His family is very important to him! Now she wants to know how he feels about her???? Is it all about her or what??? She is his piece, er sorry, I meant peace.
Body Guard Quarters: He has brought his bag back and pulls out that pic of his Mama Paula and is lookin' at it, he's in his room. He goes to the room outside that has the tv/computer and encounters Salsero, Twinkle Toes and asks Que Haces Aqui?? Frankie tells him he decided to stay. Twinkle Toes wants to know how much Vikki is payin' him to stay? He says no pay raise. So Twinkle Toes tells Frankie, since he is stayin' he is doin' the rounds. Frankie says he will cover for the Angel too and Salsero, Twinkle Toes tells him that Angel is returning to his ranch tomorrow. Frankie is looking thoughtful.
Exercise Balcony: Nikki is working out, again. Sweating profusely and gets a call from a friend that wants her to come hang out. Nikki tells the friend she is soooo fattt, oh please and she can't lose a pound. Her friends says look, you are so NOT FAT!!!!! She wants to think about goin' out and says she will call her back later. Nikki is all out of breath, even when talking on the phone! After she hangs up she is still complaining, while looking at herself in the mirror, she is just too fat. Nikki has gotten dressed and is weighing herself, she still weighs the same. She takes her jacket off, pinches that supposed fat on her belly, looks at herself in the mirror, and is very upset and cries. It is heartbreaking to see her do this. She gets on the floor and cries her eyes out. She has a cross tatoo on her wrist.
Lili and the Flower Room: Lili has discovered the flower room and is just enchanted. She is in her element. She touches all the plants and even names a bansai tree, which she calls Sylvester! She is lovingly touching the bonsai tree when Guzmancito comes upon her. She asks who he is and he says I am asking you who you are and what are you doing here, in his tough guy voice.
Kendra's Apartment: Twinkle Toes has come to see Kendra. He is witching to Kendra that the Angel quit today and she thinks his planes are stupid cause none of them have worked out. Whose idea was the kidnap anyways, Wasn't it Kendra's Idea???? Twinkle Toes says not his fault and Kendra says oh, yeah it is all the karate cowboy's fault, lol. He makes her aware that they identified the scar face and if he talks they are in big time trouble. He tells her that now Anibal will make him hire a more qualified bodyguard, and ole Kendra says then find a way to make him stay, do whatever it takes. Kendra also mentions maybe kidnapping Nikki instead of Vikki, but Twinkle Toes is very reluctant cause Guzman is a professional and not like the Angel, he has been trained, doncha know. They argue about whose plan is better and finally Twinkle Toes tells her enough, already, things will be done HIS way!
Kitchen: Ms Vikki is having a moment, crying. It is a private lil moment for her, from all stress she has had all day. She is having some tea. She should be having some chamomile tea. The Angel has come in, unbeknownst to her. He watches her for half a second and then asks if he can sit down for a sec, of course he can. He wants to know if she is alright, what is it? It's just everything that has happened. He thinks she is strong, and even hands her a tissue, lol. She tells him she didn't mean to cry. With tears in his eyes now, he assures her the police will find who did this to her, she must stay strong and he will always be with her in spirit, I think. Her life will get back to normal. She continues to cry and he watches her. And here is where the epi ends.
Advances:
Chrissie thinks that the Angel is more than a bodyguard to Vikki.
Nikki sneaks out, upsetting her Mama who is telling the Angel she can't take anymore. He goes to hug her when Chrissie comes in giving the death ray to them both.

I enjoyed this episode soooo much! The whole scene with Guzmancito laughing at Nikki after her "contrite" apology was great. And we see more and more what a basket case Nikki is.

It was a good episode and fun to watch, which I am sooo ready for after suffering thru Abysmal (not a typo) Pasión. I am afraid to like and bond with this telenovela, because of the AdP experience (which started out really well, and degenerated into a not-fun, frustrating, extended mess).
I wonder how long it will take Guzman to 'tame the shrew'. Niki is such a spoiled brat.
It looks like all the characters are inter-twined by family relationships, many of them unknown to the others.
Anibal's lady friend is Guzman's mother? I thought that was the case in one of those first episodes, and after last night I have no doubt.
Lili is annoying, but she seems to have inherited that love for plants that Viki also has.(?) Would this be our llamada de la sangre??? (LOL)

One quick comment. I thought it was too bad that when Nikki finally said she was sorry and meant it, that Guzman made fun of her. He had a chance to fix the relationship and he blew it by doing that.
Thanks for the recaps! I'm back after couple year absence. I have to work on my Spanish. This TN sounds interesting and not too many to catch up on video on demand. Anyone with cable no a secret to get subtitles; I had them on DTV but can't seem to get on cable. But, who needs with recappers like you guys.

Thanks, Madelaine. Will Big Angel cheat on Cris ? I hope not. The scenes of Susana G. being abused were awful. My daughter just filed a PFA order against her husband [it's been mostly verbal so far] , and she is in the process of getting a divorce and setting up child custody. It's difficult getting full custody here even if one parent is drinking, gambling, and abusing prescription drugs. He has also gotten them deep in debt through bad real estate . She'll lose her house and has to fight to get her credit rating back even though she has a good job. Our whole family is suffering because of this one individual , so it's hard for me to watch these scenes. Maybe I'll have to bail on this show.

Susanlynn- That's so sad what's happening with your daughter. It's good that she has all of you to support her. I can understand how the SG scenes would be hard for you to watch. I hope that they handle this storyline with care so that it's a reall lesson for other women who might be in the same situation. Of course, I'm also hoping that Frank beats the crap out of him at some point too, but that likely is NOT the proper way to deal with this situation in real life.
Vivi```I am constantly amazed that my hub has been able to resist beating the crap out of this guy. I know that he'd like to. These situations are devastatling for everyone who loves the person being abused whether it is verbal or physical. I was hoping that this novela with Big Ed, one of my favorite telenovios, would be an escape from my current reality, but I can't continue watching if this storyline is too prominent. We'll see. I am have to find a different diversion from reality.

Thanks, Aribeth. That's good to know that I can probably keep watching this novela and following the recaps for a little escape from reality. My daughter's girls are only 2 and 5 , so the situation is especially scary and worrisome. They go to their father weekends. They've been with him since Friday night , and our daughter will pick them up at 5 pm today. Hub and I watch the girls here every weekday from 6.30 to 4.30 while our daughter works, so we are right in the middle of this mess. Hub and I try to help her as much as we can and trying to help her move forward and out of this mess. It would make for an interesting telenovela. Big Ed could play my hubby, but I can't think of anyone creepy enough to play mi cunado .

Oh susanlynn, I'm so sorry to hear about your daughter. I understand why you'd want to escape from that, and watching a TN which features that would be just the wrong thing! Good to hear that this storyline isn't prominent or going to get worse. Good good good!
NO SPOILERS (since I haven't watched that far ahead, maybe an episode or two). I see in the credits that the guy who played baddy "Guapo" in Cuando Me Enamoro is in this. He's that guapo silver-haired guy, looks about 40-something I think. NO SPOILERS but I looked up esmas's generic profile for Mr. Guapo and it doesn't *sound* like he's going to be a villain in this (but I don't know! They don't tell you much!) and I'm wondering whose galán he'll be. It would be nice if he were Beatriz's new, non-abusive galán (because there's no way I want her to stay with her abusive hubby in this story). One can hope. Or maybe Mr. Guapo will be Vicki's sister's galán (since we hear of Vicki's sister and see her in the opening titles too). Don't know, am curious to find out.

I feel sorry for Nikki, as we see now she's a basket case. I hope they continue to be realistic (as realistic as we can expect from a TN, anyway) in portraying her eating disorder. We are going to have a love triangle between Lily, Guzmancito, and Nikki, but it looks like from the opening titles that Lily hasn't got a chance and that Guzmancito and Nikki will be novios. Which I suppose makes the most sense, since he's taming the shrew here after all.
Big Angel BETTER NOT cheat on his wife! Not unless something develops in the story that makes this more 'acceptable.' But as things stand right now, it would be unacceptable. Semi-obliviously attracted, yes, that we can see. But to be seriously considering cheating, or actually cheat! Oh no no no no Big Angel, you'd better not, or you are a bad galán, and that would not do.
NO SPOILERS (since I haven't watched that far ahead, maybe an episode or two). I see in the credits that the guy who played baddy "Guapo" in Cuando Me Enamoro is in this. He's that guapo silver-haired guy, looks about 40-something I think. NO SPOILERS but I looked up esmas's generic profile for Mr. Guapo and it doesn't *sound* like he's going to be a villain in this (but I don't know! They don't tell you much!) and I'm wondering whose galán he'll be. It would be nice if he were Beatriz's new, non-abusive galán (because there's no way I want her to stay with her abusive hubby in this story). One can hope. Or maybe Mr. Guapo will be Vicki's sister's galán (since we hear of Vicki's sister and see her in the opening titles too). Don't know, am curious to find out.

Madelaine, superb as always. I also loved the episode and your recap was simply sensational. Humor and insight abounded. Wish I could comment earlier but I have no computer over the weekend.

Oh yes, Lizardman, I mean, Lisardo Guarinos. I love that guy since his lame role in CS09.
Liliana is so annoying sometimes. She's a nice and good girl and I can deal with her overflowing sweetness, but she's a grown woman so she should stop acting like a lost 10 years old kid.
