Amores Verdaderos #14 Tue 11/27/12 White Teeth, Shooting Ranges, and Butt Floss
Lo siento, I'm sort of phoning this in (sort of!) because I have a lame arm (schlepping a bunch of heavy stuff around) and I'm being a total baby about it.
Part of the recap written from downloaded episode, the rest recapped "on the fly" as the episode aired. I hope I'll fill in some blanks but I think I got the gist of it.
First, a few quickie HD screencaps (I hope to add some more, maybe tomorrow morning?).
Nikki and Vicki at the nutritionist's office. You can see by the expression on Nikki's face that she's totally enthusiastic about being there. |
Guzmancito has an unexpected encounter with Anibal at the pool. Nikki pretends that everything is peachy with her bodyguard in front of grandad. |
Fun at the shooting range. |
Big Angel and his Big White Teeth. |
Labels: Amores
Another fun episode, and may the fun never end.
Guzman cracked me up when the 'ikkis left and he said "what a relief!" He and JA sitting on the bottom of the stairs was so cute.
I think JA told Viki that he walked into Nelson's office, thinking it was the men's room, and Nelson got really ticked off at JA for it. JA turned the tables with that tale, still managing to make Nelson look like the jerk that he is.
Nelson's eyes were really bloodshot tonight. Yuck.
JA's white teeth glow in the dark. I remember he had those as Juan Reyes in FELS. It looked too weird for a bumpkin running the e.coli bakery to have glow-in-the-dark white teeth.
A couple of episodes, I noticed JA's truck is named "Figaro". Per the sign on the side of it. I have not had time to read all the recaps (life is too busy right now) so I don't know if y'all talked about this. Reminded me of his horse Capricio in FELS. I thought it was cute that his truck has a name and its own sign.
I too liked the Angel on the stairs with Guzmancito. I thought they would do the same, both hands on the face, but not so much, it still was very cute.
The Godfather's name is Antonio. I like him and I like how he told Adriana the truth. Now if she can only find her daughter. Did she say she had been grieving for two years? I too wonder what Anibal did with the bebe.
About the tamales, it is a recipe from Candalaria that Chrissie was making. Anibal remembered having tamales, those tamales looked very yummy, very like this years ago, and stopped short of telling Paula who made them. She thought his dead wife Pilar had made them. She is one very jealous woman and I agree, that love scene was yuk!!!
The other lady at the other agency is Odette Longoria a deadly rival of Victoria. She hates her with a passion, and now Kendra I think she supposed to bring her chisme about Victoria like what accounts are at Meta Imagen, etc.
Wasn't Dances with Glasses pithed when Nelson told him not to wait. He sure peeled off in that car. And Nelson what an A$$HAT, he has all the time in the world to boink Kendra, but not enough time for his daughter that really needs him right now.
That love scene with Nelson, another yuk. Kendra has him just where she wants him and that outfit, lol. He has the brain of a flea if he didn't realize that she planned it this way, butt floss and stockings, lol. I'm surprised Uni didn't fog that over, they do with everything else, lol.
I like how Angel didn't spill the beans, but he did it more for Vikki, then to let Nelson off the hook. I don't think the Angel will cheat with Vikki yet, but he is feeling that pull of attraction.
That tamale recipe will lead Anibal to Cristina, no doubt. Paula will not take that one lying down.
Has EY ever done a toothpaste commercial? With teeth like that...
Why would Anibal take Adriana's baby away from her? I must have missed something somewhere.
Laughed when Salsa Dude drove away so mad. He was looking backwards towards Nelson as he drove off in the parking garage. Surprised he didn't hit something.
Thanks for the terrific recap Elvira and hope you're better quickly. Thanks for forging ahead with the recap while in pain and with having to describe those stomach churning love scenes.

Not sure what Angel's value system is. Does he think it is OK to be unfaithful to one's wife? He is heading down a slippery slope there. Watch out Angel!
I think Cristina and Vikki actually resemble each other, I noticed it the first show.
Did anyone catch what that special ingredient was in the tamales? It was something I hadn't heard of before, but very specific to the region where Cris is from. It will be hilarious if she starts selling tomales out of her fancy high rise apartment. Somehow, I don't think all the neighbors will be pleased with that, unless she gives them a discount on her delicious tamales.
Emarie- JA made it clear that he was horrified by the thought of cheating on his wife. But I don't think he feels it's his right to butt into someone else' marriage. He gave Nelson fair warning though that Vicki is not the kind of woman who would accept it either.
JA and Guzman were very cute on the stairs. JA actually gave Guzman good advice about Nicki when he complained about her. He told Guzman that he needs to look at things from Nicki's point of view. She's a young woman and it can't be easy for her to have him following her around and imposing on her freedom.
Salsero, Kendra, Paula, and Odette continue to be cartoon/carboard villains-- no real plans or reasons for their actions. Oh well! The two main guys are fun to watch, and that's what keeps me watching.
The Adriana story is very sad, but seems so disconnected from the rest of the story for now. But the actress has sold me on her pain, so I want to find out what happened to her daughter and why Anibal (who seems like a good father and grandfather) would do such a thing to his youngest daughter. It just seems so cruel. She must also have other reasons for hating him, since she didn't know until now that he stole her baby. What else did he do to her to make her hate him so much? It must be more than the mistress thing, since Vicki is able to get along with him while making it clear she's not cool with Paula. I do wish Adriana would contact Vicki. I'm sure she wouldn't tell her dad that she's back in the country if she asked her not to.
Elvira, I hope your arm is feeling a bit better today? I hope you improve steadily and that you are not in pain. So wonderful of you to do this excellent recap.
The pictures were spectacular. "Smiles the smile of a lusty idiot" and "truly horrific love scene" were my favorites. Speaking of...I was cringing at Nelson's repulsiveness. And Kendra in her hideous outfit and Herman Munster shoes with way too many straps was almost as bad. Recalling their kissing and groping makes me want to hurl.
Like Vivi, I can't imagine why Anibal would take his daughter's child.
Hope to see more of Susana Gonzales and her storyline - she's turned into an exceptional actress and hope she is used as more than an "extra" here.
Doris, great observation about JA's truck.
Thanks again Elvira!

Let me add to the "yucks" to the Kendra-Nelson lustfest. But Kendra does know how to work that body. I don't think Nelson is really buying her innocent game, not with that sex-kitten get-up she just happened to be wearing, but whatever he's getting laid. Interesting that though Nelson can't even be bothered to give Vicki a good hug, it’s never crossed Vicki’s mind that he might be getting it elsewhere.
I'll be disappointed in Arriaga if that art studio fantasy turns out to be his. If he's thinking that clearly about Vicki, he needs to own up to it and stop trying to make Cristana feel secure – otherwise he’s gaslighting her on the vibes she picked up.
I'm giving Anibel and Paula (who I can't stand) a break on their makeout scene cause I remember once when parents were watching some show and were pleasantly surprised to see a romantic scene between an older couple. You just don't see that much on TV. Of course, there’s nothing romantic about Anibel and Paula.
Don’t know how old Adriana was when she gave birth, but maybe Anibel thought she was too young. That’s no excuse, but the only one I can come up with as Anibel doesn’t seem to be a monster. Also, seems like Adriana was unwed. Again, no excuse.
And I hope you get better soon!
I think the Angel decided wisely when he kept his mouth shut about Casanova and Whorndra. The wellbeing of his wife and daughter depend exclusively on the Balvaneras' money. He doesn't know Victoria, he has no idea how she would react to an information like that. It's better not to get involved in their marital problems. Not now.
Is Paula a cardboard villana? I think she's more like a very desperate and selfish woman.
UA - a double entendre with that comment?
Gah! I FFWD--> thru the Nelson/Kendra butt floss scene, and deleted the episode. I missed it. (Somehow, I think I'll live. LOL)
Also thought the boys sitting on the stairs was precioso.
If Adriana was unwed would that be some kind of taboo for Anibal like wanting to keep Paula distant from the family?
You know Anibal may have remembered the tamales recipe from Candelaria, but if he didn't maybe he will.
Since someone has mentioned an original way to interrupt a wedding, we can come up with plenty of examples of Bodas Interruptus for a topic to be posted on the 7th.
Oh man, I wanted to add more screencaps, but I was so lazy today that I didn't. It's getting kind of late now. I may add some this weekend if I feel like it. (Or not!)
I dread more buttfloss scenes. That was truly repellent, wasn't it? And Nelson with his small, watery, red eyes. Yuk!
