The gang is at the big colorful table at Grupo Imperio. Plutarco is shouting that it's impossible and reiterating that the 100 women fired cannot be rehired in a financially sound way. Eva has a proposal, and after she's done reading it she demands to know what people think. Everyone looks uncomfortable except Adriano who continues to look rapt at Eva's every word; she blows him a kiss. Pluto says there is no financial guarantee to back this proposal, and Eva says that the shares in the company that her beloved Antonia left her, she will put them up as backing. Adriano thinks this is all swell. Pluto gets up to follow up on this, and Rebeca says everybody hold on. She has something to say that affects everyone that works at GI. Pluto and Eva each look nervous because Rebeca has the lowdown on each of them.
Eugenia is talking to her doctor who thinks she's doing much better. He asks if she still believes her son is alive and she tells him no, like are you crazy?
Mimi is talking to her nephew in the pension, and she vacillates between happiness at her night of love with Adriano and sadness at the fact that he wasn't making love to her. Her nephew questions this, and she tells him that it's better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.
Just as Rebeca is ready to tell all, Adriano interrupts to say that he and Eva will be getting married. He thanks Rebeca for her aphrodisiac advice last night and she, looking confused, stutters "Are you saying something happened?" Eva pretends to be embarrassed and Adriano pretends to be subtle, but both basically confirm that yes, they finally did the deed. Everyone is shouting "Vivan los novios!" and Eva scolds them "Don't throw rice!" Rebeca storms over to Eva, calling her Juan Carlos, ripping open her shirt, and OMG there are real breasts under there. Eva runs from the room while Adriano yells at Rebeca for offending his honey. Pluto gets in some digs, too. Rebeca is fired. But wait. This was all Rebeca's daydream and she reconsiders that maybe spilling the beans isn't such a good idea. So she merely congratulates the two of them on their engagement.
After the big announcement, in his office Adriano continues to try to steal kisses from Eva who pinches his lips together. Eva tells him there will be no sex, no touching, and no kisses. She feels impure after last night's lovemaking and calls to the heavens that "I am yours, Christ." Adri protests that what they did was completely natural, but Eva says there will be no more of that until a priest gives them the benediction.
Rebeca is in a foul mood as Onesimo comes into her office without knocking. He asks that she not call him naco (stupid, vulgar, uneducated) anymore. He writes down the debt she owes him for one, two, three, well, lots of favors, and it's a drawing of a heart. She scowls and tells him no way, and he counters with the fact that he knows what she did: putting the poison in the wine. She calls him naco and he's very insulted and storms out of the office.
Mutt and Jeff are looking at pictures of motorcycles on the web for Kevin's birthday present, and Ferni laments how expensive they are.
Pluto visits Rebeca and wants to know what she was going to say in the meeting, reminding her that they have a truce. She sneers at him not to be paranoid- it had nothing to do with him. Pluto then appears in Adriano's office, congratulating him and wanting to know what the plans are for after the wedding. Adri would like to take Eva around the world, and of course Pluto would carry on as president of GI. Pluto must be rubbing his hands together under the table at the idea of it.
Helena makes an appointment with a realtor to see apartments. She daydreams about being in bed with JC and then scolds herself to forget him already.
JC is on the phone with Mimi telling her about the engagement that SHE agreed to. He is upset that she continues to moon over Adriano.
Modesto is meeting with Eugenia's doctor, who again tells him that it would benefit Eugenia to return to her acting career. He doesn't look convinced. Modesto goes to get Eugenia to bring her home. He questions that she doesn't look happy about it and she wonders what she's going to do locked up within the four walls of their house. She asks if he's going to still see Carmen, and he starts to explain that they have two children and now that his oldest son is gone... Eugenia interrupts him to say she doesn't want to talk about his second family.
A subdued Rebeca goes to Eva's office to offer an apology. Rebeca still looks confused at the recent turn of events. Eva scolds her and tells her not to interfere where she doesn't belong or Eva will investigate her dirty laundry. Eva tells her to stay away from Eugenia. Rebeca apologizes again and Eva kicks her out of the office.
On campus Daniel is admiring the caring way Jennifer's family treats her; he wishes his family was like that. She asks about boarding school and he changes the subject and asks if she wants a soda.
A reporter who was supposed to interview Helena interviews Eva instead. The reporter knows about Eva's engagement and Eva wonders how gossip spreads so fast. Eva grabs the reporter's recorder and gets on her soapbox about women workers, eventually tiring the reporter who tries to hide it. Eva chants "Women united, we'll never be divided" and ends with the shout that "We are all Mexicans!" several times.
There's a brief scene in Puebla with Carmen and the daughter fathered by Modesto. They are fighting.
Adriano is congratulating Renato about the excellent work he's doing and about how fast he's rising in the company. They are joking about playing the field and Adriano thinks Renato may be the next JC at Grupo Imperio, which is strange because at first Adri thought Renato was gay. Renato stops laughing, taken aback by this and he asks why. Oh, you know, the hair the clothes, the hand waving- it doesn't matter. Adri tells Renato to be careful of dating coworkers, because it's easy to get involved but it's difficult to break free after. Outside Lucia is lamenting to the Evalettes that Eva will now be married twice and poor Lucia not even once. Renato comes out of Adri's office and asks her why she has that look on her face. Still reeling from the gay thing, he asks Lucia out for the evening. Yes, yes, she's more than happy to be his beard.
Eva comes into Fernando's office, wryly observing "working as always" as Ferni throws a paper airplane. She says something about Kevin's birthday, and Marcela wants to know how Eva knows that. JC had always remembered Kevin's birthday. Marcela notes that much has changed in favor of women at GI since Eva came along. Eva is invited to their house for the birthday dinner. At the birthday party Eva takes over the birthday song with an opera voice as everyone else stops to stare at her. Eva throws her arm over Ferni's shoulder and he shakes her off uncomfortably. Marcela has gotten Kevin a new bicycle and Fernando again is upset at how she spends money behind his back. Eva lectures him, calling him a caveman and a Neanderthal. The lecture continues as they ride the elevator up at GI. Eva is called to a meeting but she will have words with Ferni later.
Pluto calls Helena to ask her to come to his house to see the new remodeling.
Eva signs the papers to use her shares in GI to back the rehiring of the 100. Eva mocks Pluto's seriousness; Pluto looks on and he thinks about twirling his moustache in evil triumph. At home JC tells Mimi he is ready to accept the consequences of his past injustices even if his freedom goes with the shares he signed over today.
Avances: In front of Eva and others, Plutarco asks Helena to marry him.
