Amor Bravío #89 (Uni 84) Fri 12/21/12 In Which The Land Deal's A Steal and Leads To The Not So Big Big Reveal; Dio Can't Believe D'Andres Is DDA For Real; Yago Proves He's Still A Heel; Bruno Cops a Feel; Everyone's Still Convinced Alonso's El Gran Schlemiel

Cap #89

Part 1~~~

As the title suggests, with a few naive no puede ser denials, a few arrogant callate’s, a couple of virgencita mia’s and a big “who shot JR”-style surprise, you’ve got the night in spades.  However, Viewerville, I must first admit celebrating the demise of Mayan mystics and un-deserving Yucatan deities with a somewhat liberal period of libation and besotted babbling along with munching Xmas goodies towards midnight.  Jingling of bells will not be permitted for the next few hours.

Lo Del Pasado:

Alonso-Kimodo-Dodo and HIssadora have a major blow out in which she threatens to blow his brains out if he doesn’t call Daniel and threaten to blow the kidnapped Camila’s brains out in exchange for the deed to La Malquerida and pronto and how!  Of course Boozer-Loser Lon gets a large charge by revealing his own secret to Mami Dearest:  I know you are not my baby mami and life with you was a living Hell; and you undoubtedly killed my doddering, decrepit, tho’ doting daddy who was old enough to have been our great-granddaddy--cuz even tho’ he could still shoot bulls-eyes, it was all in vain cuz you, Mami, were “esteril”!  Oh yes, a barren b!tch in current vernacular.  He knows what he knows and won't tell how he knows (at least till she threatens to blow his brains out over that, too).

Al has fallen for Cami’s love charm like all the other goofy guys at the M.Q.  (Viewerville notes with our resident medico, Carlos, that Al’s still got his h-h-h-hot tamale de Ximena. So, Al’s a real celluloid pendejo cuz his “accesorio” no longer pumps or jumps for any impending humps while in traitorous Ximeana’s presence.)  It’s like go figure, Mami, while I have another temper tantrum at 39 and holding, cuz it’s all only been to save Camila from your vexing, venomous, vixendom as my murderous mother. (Viewerville notes that to a sociopath like Hisssadora, one more tantrum from the Kimodo-Dodo is like water off a duck’s back.  He’s all she’s got, tho' we agree with her that more’s the pity.)

Meanwhile, Dionisio’s henchmen come up empty and so do the M.Q.’s cowhands.  Xi points the finger at Al per the plan and Francisco points another fickle finger at Isadora as the second kidnapper to politely plant the tiniest seed of doubt now that he’s wise to Dio and Isssa’s sexual con-exion.

Lo Del Nuevo:

The Scoobie-doo’s and Mariano are out the door.

The house help are praying to the virgencita for a miracle.

Back in the kitchen, Luzma lets loose with the Alonso, DDA, Camila frijoles.  It’s not like everybody thinks: Sra. Camila isn’t the real owner.   DDA is the real owner and “--Don Daniel left the rancho to him to protect her from Don Alonso who married her for her money, [interés= lit. money matters/self-interest, which amounted to her supposed inheritance of La Malquerida].”  Who is this guy, DDa?  Does the sra. know this guy and all this? Shouldn’t she tell people what she knows so someone in authority could do something about it or whatever??? “Yes, Sra. Cami does know all this.  But they both asked me to keep it a secret. Sorry.”  --Thanks a lot, Luzma!  (Luzma just broke telenovela rule#100 something which demands that if you tell a secret you can only tell half of it and must leave the rest to mischievous conjecture.)  Please don’t tell anybody that you know this.”  Frustrated frowns attach themselves on faces all around the kitchen.

Mariano catches up with the Scoobies and reveals he knows who DDA really is, courtesy of Camila.  Can’t he come with them and join the gang?  For Camila’s sake you see.  By Anteing up a crass comment regarding Al’s likely criminal intent towards Cam, he’s accepted as a new/joint member of the gang.  They jump in and race off.

Meanwhile, dastardly Bruno, still in his black ninja stocking cap and leathers, finds the bound, passed out female lying at his feet, “more beautiful than even her sister Ximeana”, is too much of a temptation for him.  Butt-head decides to go with the rush in blood flow.  He starts rubbing his hands over her limp body.

In town at Vivi’s place, Licenciado Osvaldo Becerra, arrives since he’s been summoned by Daniel.  Dan explains he has heard from Alocolonso who claims he’s got Camila (and thus him by the shorts) and that he’ll only return her for Dan’s ceding ownership legally of La Malquerida to Al.    Dan’s the Man and agrees to anything in the way of The Unlucky at Love de Lying Lonnie’s devilish demands.  Praise be and pass the peas!  Dan agrees!!  Os is all “por supuesto no puede ser”.  He may never get the rancho back legally once he crosses this Rubicon rivero.  Dan doesn’t care because Camila being back safe and sound is all that matters to him!

The M.Q. doesn’t matter a whit to Dan’l.  (Cam and some of Viewerville might want him to think this through with the others first, and let cooler heads prevail with a real plan like the Mission Quite Possible Gang’s done up to now.)  Aaron mentions wisely that Aloco can’t be trusted cuz everybody knows he’s got more than a few screws loose and not just in his caboose.  Dan says he realizes this now but hasn’t a choice in the matter.  Only Camila alive and well does so he’s gonna give the geek what he wants!  Dios knows best and agrees is Padre Anselmo’s two centavos’ worth and he accentuates the positive with a skyward-pointing pointer finger.    Os doesn’t have a choice either, says Dan, so Os says fine, it’ll be ready in his office in half an hour for Dan to sign.  (If Os doesn’t have a legal trick or two up his “manga” [sleeve], half of Viewerville’s going to be doing a midnight shuffle on his grave!)

Across the way at La Buenaventura, Yago heads for bed after Daddy Cayetano complains about people feeling impotent when it comes to being kidnapped.  Rocio walks in and gripes at the time of night it is.  He’s become distant towards her and not at all supportive. This just proves it.  Blah, blah, blah…..Cayetano tells her he’s not been distant and is the same as always; he’s been gone longer than usual because Camila has disappeared and nobody found a trace of her anywhere.  So before she starts in on a rant, learn what’s what first.  Good night!

In Yago’s bedroom, he’s got Natalia calling him to reveal the news about Daddy dearest being really alive but also a really real meanie.  Yago would like to give her a hug and be supportive, but because of the search for the missing Cami, he’s bushed, he lies, while busily looking at his photos of the beautiful blond Vivi, his supposed next conquest, whom I now (correctly?) assume he imagines in a come hither request.
==========

Part 2~~
Downstairs at Amanda’s B&B meanwhile, dear and newly abused Amanda remembers Dio sneaking in and pulling her hair nearly out of her scalp and yelling in her face while threatening to off both her and Natalia should she try to run away with their daughter again!  Yes, he’s got her watched 24-7, along with Natalia, but she’s got to just find a way to take Nat with her again without Dionisio Ferrer being any the wiser.  Uhhhhh…..Os and Dan will certainly give her a hand with absconding.  "--Dan is from Chile and can give me a few heads ups about it.  Tomorrow I’ll head over there to talk it over with him."

Back across town at Viviana’s place, Rafael and Vivi walk through the door with Mariano right behind them.  They all stop talking and stare.  What’s he doing there?  Mariano reveals that he’s known for a while, courtesy of Camila, about the real DDA and only wants to help them find her.  That’s good enough for Padre A since he and Mar are BFF’s from the old days.  He tells the three of them that Al kidnapped Cam.  Aaron adds that in exchange for Daniel’s signing over ownership of La Malquerida he will give them back Camila in one piece, safe and sound. Aaron adds that Al took advantage of Dan’s feelings for Camila just so he could get his own way [salir con la suya.]  So, Dan’s decided to sign it all over and has a scream fest with Rafa about that.  He loves her and he won’t risk her life for that piece of land.  Mariano fingers the locket in his pocket and realizes that Dan and Cam are back together again.  He asks if they’re back together just to make sure.  Yes they’re back together again, says Dan and they’ve got a relationship going.

Back at the M.Q., Dio, Xi, Frankie, and Agustina sit and wait for word.  Nada.  Bupkes.  Dio is disgusted.  Camila is very important to him…er…being Gussies’ little girl and all.  His men haven’t found a thing, either.  Gussie gushes at Dio’s er…fatherly preoccupation for her daughter and remarks how unbearable the situation would really be if he weren’t there at her side.   Whaddaman!  Featherbrained Frank chokes back a sly laugh at that and fakes a cough.  Gussie flashes “the look” and notes her distaste forthwith.  Dio frowns, too frustrated to give a crap, I guess.

In town, Mariano offers money to back a proposition to Al to take the money, pay his penalty, stay out of jail and leave them La Malquerida.  Dan says okay and leaves a message on Al’s voice-mail to call him back.  Will he return the call or not?  They don’t know.  Much nail biting ensues.  Vivi hands over the medallion she found and tells Dan she knew Cam wore it today and asks him to hang on to it for when she comes back.  He looks at the medallion with the virgencita on it and he says a prayer to her to lend a hand in Cami’s return.  Anselmo prays along which makes it o-fficial.

That night at the dining room table nobody has any appetite.  That’s when Isadora walks in too cheerfully.  Dio jumps up and demands to know where she’s been all this time.  Why looking for a house in Metepec like she told them she would be.  They tell her Allocolonso’s kidnapped Cam cuz she’s gone missing and everything points to him as the culprit.  Ok.  So what’s that got to do with her she so innocently asks. “--You call him right now and tell him to hand her over without a scratch right now or he’ll be dealing with me!”  “--Okayokayokay!  Cool your jets.  I don’t’ think he did it, but okay.”  Gussie whines that her daughter’s in danger and she is begging her to help do something for her.

Xi is pacing in her bedroom praying for help out of whatever jam she’s gotten herself into.  (I don’t think that’s the purview of this particular deity.  Try a few floors lower down.)

Dan and Rafa are in Os’s office to sign the papers.  Os and Rafa ask if Dan’s sure of this.   Ay!  He’s definitely the handsomest man on the rancho, but he is also now the stoooooopidest as well, according to Rafa and Os, when he signs his name on the dotted line.

A bit later, Muy Guapo Stoooopid Man returns to his room at the rancho and finds A-locked’n loaded loco de lonso.  "--Sorry." KABLOOIE!  Dan flies through the air with a shotgun blast to the stomach and lands dead as a door nail.  Bwajajajajajja!  Then Camila wakes up from her drug-induced dream and enters into a living nightmare of memories of Louis’s death.
========

P3~~
As Butt-head de Bruno starts pawing her with major intent Cami fights back vomit and offers him money in exchange for letting her go.  He’s not interested this time in the cold hard… cash.  “Try it; you may like it and stick around for good.”  (Not in this lifetime, Butthead Buster!)

At the M.Q.  D’Andres races in with his signed documents and demands to know where Alonso is hiding??!!!  He’s gone.  He left a couple of days ago, answers Gussie aghast. Why and how dare you demand to know after toying with my daughter’s affections and then abandoning her?  He’s come with the documents that he demanded in exchange for Camila’s safe return alive—the deed to La Malquerida!!  What?????  Dio watches as D’Aaron, Viv and Rafa line up behind Daniel.  “—Daniel?”  No, says D’Aaron.  I’m not Daniel.”  He dares because HE is the real DDA!  Finally D’Andres tells the remaining five on the stairwell that he’s the real DDA!  Oy vey.  Gussie is confused worse than Viewerville now and Dio is a close second this time.

Shock and disgust from Dio. Dio walks down the stairs with both hands firmly on the stair rail. “—You can’t be!  You tricked me!”  Os pops up next. (Where the hell’d he come from, the little bugger?) “—He’s the only and one true heir and owner of La Malquerida and I can prove it!”  “—Pahleese!! and it’s what all of you deserve for going to Chile and trying to kill me so I couldn’t get here to accept my inheritance.”   Gussie reverts to stooopid b!tchdom and calls him a bastard and a murderer, tells him he used and abused her daughter, had her fall in love [and into bed with him] by pretending to be somebody else.  “--What a creep!”  No, says Vivi, in Cami’s defense, she knew all about Daniel.

So does Alonso, adds Becerra.  That’s why he wants the ranch in exchange for letting her go.  Gussie’s still stuck on bedding her daughter with her first cousin, but Dan assures her he did the DNA test and they are not related in any way.  (Ok.  Ok, except by marriage of her Mom to his Daddy, I suppose, which is just too icky by half for me to want to consider right now.)  “--Then why bequeath the ranch to you instead of my daughter, his only family who he idolized?”  “—Or why did you lie to me, your real father?”  Dan sniffs.  Really?  Really?  “--You may be blood, but don’t come at me with that sob story.  You never worried about me!  The only thing that ever mattered to you was money!”  Xi points out that then he’s her brother and not the other guy.  Dan ignores her and asks Isadora where Alonso is.  She lies that she hasn’t a clue.  “--Then locate him, he says, cause he’s not answering his cell and tell him I’ve got what he’s asked me for. But I won’t hand it over till I know that Camila is alive and well.”

Dorotea walks in and tells the kitchen crew that the real DDA just arrived and revealed himself to the others, but he’s not who they thought.  Nope.  It’s Andres!!  He’s the heir but not the son.  Why?  “--To protect her from Alonso.”  “--Not very good at it since she’s been kidnapped and all, huh?”  (He’s got a point there, I must admit.)  That’s why she’s been kidnapped and unless he gives him the ranch, he’ll kill Sra. Camila!!”

Issa tells Xi to go out and make a call to the imbecile of a son of hers and make sure he surfaces with the instructions.  Xi slips away unseen while DDA threatens Dio that it doesn’t end here and Isadora won’t get her way.  Dio objects and insists it’s Al who’s doing the blackmail, not them.  Os pipes up again that they conspired to kill Daniel to keep him from arriving to claim his inheritance.  Isssa tells Os to shut it and avoid the libel and slander.  Gussie asks why he’s accusing Isadora and her hubby of such crimes.  Because, Madame, your husband is part of a tourist development, and together with Alonso, he gave this property as a guarantee for the project.  Dio asks how he could give the property as a guarantee if he didn’t own it.  Rafa explains they know that he thought Cam would inherit it and they would easily get rid of her and take possession of it.  That’s why Don Daniel left the rancho to Daniel.  Vivi explains further (for Gussie’s sake) to protect Cami from them.  Gussie asks Dio to swear to her that it’s all a lie.  Of course he lies to her and tells her none of it is true.

Daniel calls Dio a liar and a coward.  The wolf huffs and puffs and demands he watch what he says about him or he’ll make him eat his words.  OK.  Dan plays his information card.  “—Oh, so are you going to deny that you ordered me to kill DDA when you thought he was Aaron?  Or did you forget you sent me to shooting lessons so that I could kill him?”  “—The only thing I did was to want to protect Camila and my wife from a fugitive of the law accused of murdering his wife!”  “—You could have called the police.  That was sufficient.  You didn’t need to kill anybody!”  “—For everyone in this house you were a criminal and I wasn’t going to risk their lives.”  Issa jumps in and warns Dan that unless and until he has proof of what he’s accusing them of to keep his little trap shut.   Dan is left with the urge to shut her big trap but simply smiles and crosses those beefcake arms of his.

Xi begs Al to call Dan and do what she asks cuz she’s no murderer either and she doesn’t want this to go any farther than it has to.  Her sister is involved and Isadora will kill her for sure if Al doesn’t do exactly what she wants.  Al gives in and calls.

In the kitchen Luzma gripes that Piedad is always calling attention to her pregnancy.  She can’t stand the thought of having this baby because he isn’t normal and his life won’t be a normal one either.  She races out and heads to her room where she prays to the virgencita for forgiveness and tells the baby it’s not his fault or hers.  What has she got planned?

At La Buenaventura Ana finds Roman’s note that says he’s run away again.  She tells Nana.

Pablo and Mariano have a chat about the news at the M.Q.  Pablo learns that Cam and Dan are on again and Mariano is too much of a gentleman to follow his own advice.  Pablo talks him into it, though.  Ana comes in and tells Mariano about Roman.  Mariano promises that he’s going to find Roman.  FF>>

Back at the M.Q., Dio wants to know if Nat was knowingly involved in the cover up.  Nope.  Dan says he planted the picture where she found it online.  Rafa reminds Dio that Dan’s a computer engineer and can do just about anything with computers.  (Is that an implied big “Duh” from Rafa to Dio I heard?)  Alonso calls.  Dan answers and in front of everyone gets the directions he’s been instructed by Mami Dearest to give Daniel.  Dan reminds Al that he’s not handing over a thing till he is certain that Camila’s alive.  He demands to talk to Camila now to be sure that she’s still alive.  Bruno gets a text from Xi and a few minutes later he dials Dan and puts Cami on the phone.

Dan thinks it’s real strange how quickly Al got his message and called him back.  Isa says it wasn’t her doing.  Vivi remembers that Xi is gone.  Xi comes back and says she went to the can.  “—Is that a crime now?”

Cami tells Daniel that it was Alonso who did this to her.  He says he knows and is signing over La Malquerida which is all he cares about.  She screams not to fall for his blackmail.  Bruno knocks her down, and then clicks off.  Yes, she seems to be okay.    He’s going to go meet Alonso now, alone, just like he demanded.  Rafa and Aaron object cuz he can’t trust the guy.  Rafa can’t come along or follow.  He won’t risk Cam’s life that way.   Dio says at least take a pistol.  Os says yeah, to show him he means business.  Gussie gets one of Don Dan’s old guns.  (Hope it’s been cleaned recently and reloaded cuz she didn’t give him any cartridges that I saw.)  Gussie begs him to bring her daughter home alive to her.  Dan exits stage left (?) and Isa fakes shortness of breath due to Alonzo’s crazy antics.  “—My son’s lost his mind!  Kidnapping Camila is unimaginable.  I’ve got to get a breath of air.  I feel I can’t breathe.”  Everyone else is caught up with Gussie and beautiful, concerned Vivi.

For Bruno, the fun stuff’s over since there’s  obviously no more time for the perverted pr!ck (to pretend) to put the moves on Cami.  He hoists her drugged-out dead weight over his shoulder and leaves the hidy hole.   To be continued Christmas Eve……..per the “avances”.

Thanks, J. Fabulous title, by the way. I guess I'll get the ball rolling by saying WOW! So much going on -- I'm going to watch a few of my favorite scenes again later today.

Dio's face during the big reveal was just so delicious. The rest of the gang looked pretty amazed as well. I loved the way that the Scoobies lined up behind Daniel.

Interesting, by the way, that Dio wanted to know Natalia's role in the photo scam. Natalia his weak spot, or Amanda someone deserving payback in his evil mind. Or both!

So many other interesting moments in this great episode, with Camila still in need of rescuing.

Wow, Jardinera, the title sounds like Rap. Do you have a side job?

Love the title, Jardinera: it's ideal! The perfect prelude to a super spiel!

"SchlEmiel", bitte. Nicht "SchlAmiel"

"SchlEmiel, please. Not "SchlAmiel".

Danke.

Fabulous title, Jardinera! Ita, Cathyx, sounds like Rap.

So grateful for the recaps and comments as I'm away for the holidays and haven't been able to watch last two episodes and will miss whatever's airing Mon, Tues, and Wed. Will try to catch up when I get home, but this blogspot is super!

BEST TITLE EVER

Myo -

HPLP list will be a little late today. Finally caught up with the eps yesterday, but still have Thurs and Fri recaps and comments to read.

Nanette

Jar--After that title, do we really need a recap? It's fabulous.

(But yes, we need your recap. So have some Te de Tila and get crackin', my friend.)

Thanks, y'all. Am back to writing and will finish ASAP. Will put up in parts if okay with you.
==============

I have duly corrected my poor Yiddish spelling for the Anon. who wants to remain nameless. I hope Nameless Anonymous Yiddish Scholar will come out of the shadows and join us with some sort of nick/username so that we might learn from our mistakes in a friendly and gracious manner. True Yiddish, I thought--silly me--was written without vowels and thus its spelling was a toss up; believe it or not, amigos, the Merriam-Webster Dictionary actually included a proper phonetic spelling which I should have thought to check for--or Google for--although it is not an English word per say. Being in a rush and being unforgivably physically/mentally disabled from Xmas, Mayan, and Bacchanalian revelry, I was doomed to be fallible and erred. Mea culpa.

Jardi, while you're at it, "per se" not "per say" I am laughing my head off over the schlemiel who summarily corrected your Yiddische spelling. You da bomb and hugs & a raised copa for whatever holiday you choose to celebrate. Sorry to have been in hiding so long, but life intervenes sometimes. Have been lurkin' and lovin' these past few weeks. Caught up on Utube, but expect to be away for a while again. Sigh. This is one helluva novela.

Agnes!! Yippee! Thanks for "per se". Yep. I am just too zonked to give a rat'z patooty right now. I'm racing to get anything up and also showing my intellectual limits have finally been reached, breached and apparently un-teached. Do they call that lazy brain or just lame?
=========

Part 1 of 2 or maybe 3 is now ready for perusal.

: ? ))(Hic!)

That's Vivi in those photos Iago's looking at.

And, by-the-way. Good luck with that Iago. Vivi's not some dewy eyed ingenue that's going to fall for your pathetic line. Plus, I think Rafa could take you.

Vivi and Iago!
Yeah, I like that, that would make an interesting relationship. I'm all 4 it.
Plus Iago is not a bad guy he just hasn't found true love yet.

I don't like Vivi and Rafa (no excitement)

I rather see Vivi and Aaron, or,
Vivi and anyone else but Rafa.

Iago is a jerk with regard to women. He's a one-and-done kind of a guy, nothing like either of his brothers. He's not interested in love; he's notching the bedpost.

I like that Mariano is willing to help despite knowing that Camila loves Daniel.

Who needs to rethink giving up the ranch. There has to be something else he can do as long as Alonssso can show up alone.

Flaco, are you serious about Vivi and Yago??? Though Yago will probably be redeemed at the end, Vivi deserves someone MUCH MUCH better than that..um...schmuck (to keep with the Yiddish theme :-) ). Vivi and Aaron, Vivi and Rafa, Vivi and Mariano -- any of those would be fine with me (though Mariano is almost surely destined to get back together with Teresa). But NOT Vivi and Yago/Iago. I've got little use for a guy who texts sweet nothings to Natalia while lusting over photos of Vivi. Feh! Blech! (And did I mention that I don't like him?)

Okay, y'all. Part 2 is up. Obviously, I couldn't tell it was pictures of Viviana. It makes no sense to me, either. but oh well. He's a lech either way. Off to write out some more.

Great stuff, Jardinera. Thanks for clearing up the business about Alonso's supposedly shooting Daniel. I realized that it was probably a dream, but somehow I didn't link it to Camila's zonked state. Guess I was pretty zonked myself by the time I was watching the TN.

I enjoyed your remark to Ximena: "(I don’t think that’s the purview of this particular deity. Try a few floors lower down.)"

I do hope Dan finds a way out of the agreement he's signed off on, but I suspect the way out won't be found for quite a while. I wonder about the provisions of Alonso's will. If he dies, who inherits? Camila? Ximena? Isadora? The State?

Iago isn't even that attractive. He needs a serious makeover and a health club membership.

He also doesn't have the self-confidence he needs.

Jardinera thanks for the recap. To fill you in, earlier in the day at the party, Iago was showing Vivi the bulls in the space underground. While she was taking pics of the bulls, he was taking pics of her.

I got a kick of Frank noticing Isa was gone and linking her to the kidnapping and then his laughing/coughing at Gussy gushing over Dio's concerns. He's been one of the most hilarious "villains" I've seen.

Iago also needs a razor, a shampoo, and a personality transplant.

Those photos he was oogling were the ones he took of Vivi while she was photographing the bull.

I also didn't understand the shotgun blast to Dan bit at all. And I was no more addled than the usual wine sipping induced good mood.

Great recap of a great episode, Jardinera! Thank you!

Jardinera: maybe you should party hardy more often. Your usually awesome recap is off the charts deliciousness today.

I was wondering the other day if the second half of the TN was maybe going to be working to get the ranch back from the villains.

Carolina, Camila was having a drug-induced nightmare. Alonssso wouldn't do this because he's too afraid of prison.

Part 3 is up. Whooey! That was fun!

===
Karen: Whoops! Thanks and Sorry, I forgot about Vivi and Yago and the picture fest at the party. I have corrected the remarks and my assumptions. (I must have been falling asleep at that part. Yago does that to me.)

Dan did check the gun to make sure there were bullets. I was thinking the same thing about it not being loaded and was watching to see if he would check.

Here's this week's HPLP list.

I was playing catch-up all week, so didn’t have an opportunity to comment until today. Just wanted to thank all the recappers—stellar recaps as always—and commenters.

Highpoints:

Luz and Irene seem to have made up.
Hipolito (knight in shining armor-Laz [CME]) comes to town with Piedad.
Luz continuing to be the strongest, most mature person for her age and situation.
Leo getting an inkling of what’s going to happen to him in prison.
Dan proposing to Cam.
Pablo formally asking for Luzma’s hand.
The two engaged couples announcing the news to their friends.
Vivi blows off Bruno and is no longer afraid.
Isa planning on telling Cayetano about Rocio (R needs to be taken down a few pegs).
Vivi and Rafa kiss.
The look on Dio’s face during the Xi/Isa confrontation. He looked so clueless.
Francisco aka Mischief Maker sees Isa and Dio kiss.
Pablo and Luz have set a wedding date.
Pablo, once again, stands up to his parents.
Luz not letting Pablo’s parents’ behavior make her do the usual TN thing and renounce her love.
Teresa getting closer to solving the Chile mystery.
Nat encouraging her mama to give Osvaldo a chance.
Dio telling someone that they’ll find out what he’s really capable of—for the umpteenth time (you’re out of your league, dude).
Al stands up to Isa—finally and for real.
Mariano joins the Scoobies.
Mariano, once again, escapes looking like a fool declaring himself to Cam.
Dan finally out to the few people in the world who didn’t know.

Low Points:

Al hugging Cam (Ewww!).
Dio manhandling and threatening Amanda.
Hipolio leaves.
Mariano’s delusion re: Cam and giving hope to those kids.
Romantic pillow talk drowned out by pretty, but loud theme song.
INJURING AN ANIMAL FOR SPORT.
Vivi rejects Rafa—for the moment, at least (she DID kiss him back).
Cayetano and Rocio being rude to Luz.
Nat’s sadness finding out her papa is alive and her mama lied.
Iago flirting with Vivi.
Bruno drugging Maja. STAY AWAY FROM MAJA!!! Viewerville will not be happy if ANYONE hurts Maja.
Bruno kidnaps Cam.
Cam tells her kidnapper that she recognizes his voice.
Bruno fondling an unconscious Cam.
Iago drooling over pics of Vivi while Nat is poring her heart out to him.
Mariano’s hopes dashed once again.
Pablo telling Mariano to not give up.

After reviewing your list, Nannette: I say Mariano escaping looking like a fool in front of Cami and then his listening to his kid brother to fight for her despite him knowing he's not in the same set of circumstances. Bad mojo. Teresa to the rescue soon, please because he doesn't deserve being outed that way.

If Pablo is telling Mariano to follow his own advice re: Cam, that's not good. It's not the same kind of situation. Luz was not in love with someone else and was in a situation where the advice to Pablo should have been not to give up. Mariano is in love with a woman who loves someone else--and that someone else is a good guy. So he can't even say he's the better man.

Great job Jardinera, I like your red and green text. Very festive.

I hate to say this, but I'm at a 'who cares' point. By that I mean that give me the final outcome of the kidnap/bribe thing. Please don't drag this out.

We should call Yago, dogo. What a dog. I hope he comes on to Viv in front of someone who knows that Nat likes him and she burns him.

I can't wait til Aggie starts disbelieving Dion's innocence. It's coming any day now, I'm sure.

I like how Dion is onto Isa and knows she's behind this. And he must know that she plans to take Malquerida away from him. Only in this will he be helping the Scooby Doo team. He doesn't want Isa to have it.

Jar: I see we're on the same page re: Mariano.

That was sad seeing Mariano pull out the box with the necklace from his pocket and put it back. I hope he finds true love soon.

My favorite lines in the second half: Xi is pacing in her bedroom praying for help out of whatever jam she’s gotten herself into.  (I don’t think that’s the purview of this particular deity.  Try a few floors lower down.)

Gussie reverts to stooopid b!tchdom and calls him a bastard and a murderer, tells him he used and abused her daughter, had her fall in love [and into bed with him] by pretending to be somebody else.  “--What a creep!”

Augustina is an idiot and Ximeana isn't much smarter.

The recap was every bit as great as the title. ¡Salud! I'm puzzled about Roman. Is it possible he is a bastard child of Yago, the dawg (who is in serious need of a makeover, health club, AND personality transplant) or just a stray orphan, wild child, cave boy? In which case, how would he be able to leave a note for Ana? Hard to believe a kid who's been hiding in an abandoned building for how long? would be literate.

lxv--and also Roman Numeral's clothes look pretty good. Maybe he has enough in his pocket to go to the laundromat once a week--and as I mentioned before, he's well-fed for a foundling on his own. Don't really care about the side story, but now I'm curious about his back story!

Iago had me fooled, too. Guess I'm as naive as Nat when it comes to a rich guy seemingly taking a romantic interest in plain little me. Mariano and Pablo are right--he's never going to change, much less for innocent childlike Nat--if he has eyes for Vivi. Rodolfo, don't go too far away, you will be needed later to pick up the pieces of a broken heart.

Jar--This one is out of the park; over the goal posts, into the net, whatever floats the boat. Kudos--and that's not to be confused with Komodos.

Issa is quite the little planner and arranger. Let's see if she considered all the details. So, Dan is going to meet Al at some lonely spot on the highway that Issa has picked out. He's been told that no one should go with or follow him. She's surely not going to trust Al with doing the right thing after their little session in the hotel room, nor what Dan could possibly do to him. She will have to be there to wrest the signed documents out of his hands (cold dead or warm and alive).

Where is Bruno supposed to take Cam....ay yi yi...I can't wait until Monday. And I have a big Christmas Eve do to go to. Shoot, I may have to get sick or something--not trusting my DVR these days (please don't call me obsessed---this is just a super good tale).

Nanette--Love your HPLP lists. For Operation Shine the Light, there's no one left now that doesn't know who the real DDA is--even the MQ vaqueros and the kitchen help, thanks to Dorotea. (I'm not counting the other folks over at BV--the important ones know--Mariano and Pablo.)

Jar--Quoting you, did you really mean that tn law #100 WAS broken?

..."Luzma just broke telenovela law #100, something which demands that if you tell a secret you can only tell half of it and must leave the rest to mischievous conjecture." I thought she left them with the most important part of the secret, still secret. Ok, more than half was revealed, like 4/5 anyway.

...and oh my, "celluloid pendejo because his 'accesorio' no longer pumps or jumps for any impending humps"....Where were you when we were doing El Tal--this is better than low hanging avocados.

Ahhhh....the uncomplicated days of El Tal where, given no plot, all we had to do was laugh at avocado jokes.

Jardinera - I just signed on to start in for the weekend reading/comments and had to start right off the bat with complimenting you on your title. Move over Nicki Minoj!

Karen - you and me both with the lovin' of FX. What a character! I am guessing his twitch is real as they take great pains to film just his left side now. This actor is amazing!

Off to read Sections Uno, Dos and Tres.

Jardinera - Great recap. You're a doll to do this after heavy partying. I too loved "Try a few floors lower down." And your title should be bronzed.

Loved the Scoobies following in after Dan revealed himself, Dan totally ignoring Ximena, and Francisco seeing through Hiss and Dio.

The legal issues have been dealt with fairly realistically on AB, so it's strange that nobody's brought up the fact that Dan signing over the ranch under threat of harm coming to Camila is extortion and wouldn't stand up in court.

Hoping Camila gets a chance to kick the crap out of Bruno before it's over.

Jardinera - your comment about Iago inducing either sleep or boredom was hilarious!

RLaO - I wasn't sure about the actor's twitching but after he stumbled drunk into the house screaming boda, he's been a laugh riot. And his constant teasing of Gussy is priceless as she's very foolish.

Nanette - another great list. I'm hoping Cam gets to hurt Bruno and Amanda gets to hurt Dio.

Niecie - good point about the extortion. I'm hoping this reality occurs in TN land as well and wipes that smug smile off Isa's face.

I know we have commented about Xi but I can't believe she is so stupid not to realize that a woman who would cut out someone's tongue would be willing to share ANYTHING with her. My guess is the best she can hope for is a quick death.

Niecle: "Loved the Scoobies following in after Dan revealed himself, Dan totally ignoring Ximena, and Francisco seeing through Hiss and Dio."--definitely should have been added to the HPLP list.

Jardinera - If this is how you write after knocking back a few, I say we have Mayan Mischief Night every Friday. The whole recap is sensational! Thank you.

Now, I am going to follow suit with my eggnog and Southern Comfort and go watch the episode.

Oh and Nanette - thank YOU for that list. With so much happening, it's nice to get it all organized. Be sure to add "This List" to the Highlights.

My gads, I was going to share in the last comment that my word verification was FATSIT, but then I thought that really isn't that funny, BUT now I have LARDBUT. En serio?

RlaO: Don't know how to add the HPLP list to the Highlights list. Someone has probably given instructions in the past, but I don't remember.

Neo is helping me type this.

Nanette - You don't need to add it. That was just my way of saying your list is a highlight!

Why didn't Daniel take his sleuthing buds and go in another room to discuss the call from Alonso? Surely he can't now be thinking Hiss and Dio are inocentes and can be let in on the details?

Not getting the point of Vivi walking around with a camera if she doesn't get any shots of Bruno sneaking in to the fiesta just like she didn't get any shots of the hijab clad Hiss at the celebration where Cam got gored.

Xi - Hawaii called and they want their state flower (hibiscus) back.

I was surprised to see this is airing on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

RlaO: Thought there was a blog that had info other than recaps and comments. Must be thinking of something else.

Thanks for the compliment. I enjoy doing them.

Bruno is starting to become another pervert like Leoncio (except he doesn't commit incest), and the scene where Alonso shoots Daniel left me very frightened, though it was only Camila's nightmare.

I loved where Daniel and the others told off Isadora and Dionisio off. When Agustina yelled at Dionisio asking to swear its not true, it seemed like she was going to turn on him. It probably won't be until later on in the novela. She could be getting suspicions though.

As for Daniel, now that everyone knows who he is its just a matter of time before he goes back to jail. Either Isadora, Dionisio, or Agustina could turn him in but I'm betting it'll be Isadora because she's one cold-hearted bi*ch capable of doing anything. Either that or Dionisio will do it.

The previews for Christmas Eve's episode had me worried. Can't wait to find out what happens.

Don't ask me why, but I googled Bobby Sherman and was surprised how much he looked like Juan Soler. He also had Bieber hair before it was Bieber hair.

What's Luzma talking about and apologizing for with her baby?

Anon at 12:19--I don't think Dan will go back to jail. Osvaldo and Teresa have been working hard to find out what went down in Chile and as for running around as an undocumented "worker" in MQ, they are also resolving that by applying for his Mexican citizenship. There are no charges against anyone named Andres Duarte in Aculco or Metepec, which is what Rafa determined from the delegacion earlier.

Not sure what Isa, Dio or Gussy could turn him in for.

RLO--Are you thinking of the Playlist we keep updating with new information? I think putting Nanette's HPLP lists there will help keep us current. Good idea.

Oh, and RLO, When Luzma was in the kitchen with the other empleados and her mother, Piedad tried to get her to eat or drink something and she made a comment re--Being pregnant, she needs to take care of herself. Luzma loses it and says she doesn't need her mother reminding her that she's pregnant. There's never a moment of the day that she's not aware of it and how she wishes it weren't so. She rushes out of the kitchen. Piedad realizes she opened her mouth and stuck her fist in.

When you see Luzma in her room asking perdon and talking to the bebe she says she realizes it's not the baby's fault.

Luzma is apologizing to her baby for saying she wishes she weren't pregnant because although this is her wish, she knows it's not the baby's fault it exists.

Someone commented before that it's possible Dan doesn't have any charges against him in Chile and might have been falsely imprisoned by Miriam's brother.

Thanks for the clarification on Luzma's prayer and the preggers argument. That stuff I had to FF>> through cuz there was so much more important stuff to cover. I guess I am sooooo tired of this pregnancy, cuz it looks like Piedad is going to convince Luz to keep the thing. Sorry, but that is too icky by half for me also. The chances it comes out with birth defects or some congenital disease and/or mental retardation like its daddy are extremely high if I'm not mistaken, and I don't like the stand the tn takes on her keeping it/or even giving it up for adoption. That is just my opinion and you're all welcome to yours. : ? ))

The fact that Abraham can't be found points to the possibility that the arrest was not legal. Someone needs to contact the hospital Miriam was taken to and talk to the staff there. They should be able to tell Teresa (or Dante) what really happened to Miriam. If she is still in a coma Daniel can't be charged with her murder. Of all the people who knew him only Abraham would ever bring an accusation against him about this.

If Miriam ever woke up she'd tell what happened unless... she had the most popular disease -- amnesia.

Good morning Jardinera! Glad to see I’m not the only one up so early on a Sunday. I read the recap last night, but was too tired to comment. It had nothing to do with partying into the wee hours, so I’m mighty impressed that you were able to do this fab recap after having done so. Many thanks amiga!. Now, go continue to enjoy your holiday in grand fashion.

I don’t think Piedad is trying to convince Luzma to keep the baby anymore. As Anita said, she was just stating a fact that Luzma needs to take care of herself as she is pregnant. When she went into Luzma’s room later it was to apologize to her and to show her support. Luzma also apologized and said that she shouldn’t have said what she said (see Anita’s comment about it not being the baby’s fault) and that the reason she is choosing to give the baby up for adoption is so that s/he can have the opportunity to be with a family who will love him/her, and she believes that the baby can feel whether it’s loved or not even now, so she doesn’t want to make it feel unloved. I think they’ve handled this story well and realistically—the resistance to an abortion in a traditional society (the fact that they even put it on the table as an option amazed me); the thinking by some that the baby is “dirty”; the resistance to giving the baby up to “strangers” for adoption; and the revulsion the pregnant rape survivor feels about the baby, and her guilt about those feelings.

As for the rest of the episode, FX has been a fave of mine since his drunk “BOOOODA?!” scene. He continues to tickle me. I love seeing him annoy the heck out of Gussy, Dio, Xi, and Isa. But I also loved seeing Dan put him in his rightful place as a lousy father and unworthy of the title. I also loved Dan just ignoring Xi when with fake surprise she pointed out that he’s her brother.

Now that Dan’s identity is completely out in the open, it seems we’re entering a new chapter. I think whoever suggested that the next chapter will likely be Dan and Cam fighting to regain La MQ is right. I also think there will be more focus on what actually happened in Chile. Anita is right, that even if Dio and Isa tried to turn Dan in, they can’t. Teresa has found no pending charges or evidence of charges against Daniel in Chile. He’s a free man, and soon to be a dual citizen.

Can’t wait to see what happens tomorrow! I’ve got the dvr ready at my place, but I would so love to see it on the huge tv at my parents’ place. How likely is it that I can convince my father to let me watch AB, on his tv, on Christmas Eve, which happens to be his birthday? Hmmm….we youngest children can work magic. :)

Happy Holidays Caraymates!!!

I think that if Miriam does end up being alive, then Abraham knew he was wrong about Dan and he had enough pull in the police department to erase any charges against him.

In Mexico, abortion is illegal with a few exceptions of rape and incest, so it doesn't surprise me that they would write the story that Luzma has the baby. But I think it would be a big mistake to have this story line that has Luzma keeping the baby when everyone knows the baby's conception story. It would be bound to find out and that would be very difficult information to learn about yourself.
So as a PSA, I think they are going to have her give the baby to a loving couple who lives far away.

I also agree with you Vivi that since there are many more episodes left, the second half will have Dan and Cam fighting to prove Isa's and Dion's guilt in obtaining Malquerida fraudulently.

Thanks to all who contributed to the Luzma coversation. It sounded to me like she was going to throw herself down the stairs (BINGO) and that's why she was apologizing. Your versions make much more sense.

Maybe Daniel is not wanted for murder in Chile, but certainly there have to be charges against him for escaping. I mean, if he hides from the hospital shouldn't that also hold for la carcel de Chile?

Anita - I was simply stating that Nanette could have enigmatically added "This List" to HER list. It was supposed to be clever. Of course Nanette wouldn't do it, but I was joking to do this:
HIGHLIGHTS:
-Luz and Irene make up
-Hipolito /formerly Lazaro
-This List
etc. I was just trying to point out that Nanette's weekly list is a highlight for us, epecially given the deeper characters and plot and not having Spanish as our first language. Thanks to both of you for all the additional info!

The second half could also be focusing on Daniel being torn between Cam and Miriam, if she's still alive. And does he have a baby?

My first thought was that the doctors could have performed an abortion on Miriam in the interests of saving her life but according to this that would not be possible.

RLO--I'm a knucklehead. NOW I get it--This List should be added to HPLP as a highlight.

Remember, about Dan's escape from prison in Chile--he had just enough time to wipe out his stats from the prison database and that's the first thing Teresa found out. There's just no record of him there in existence, so it would be hard to pin an escape on him even though there might be living witnesses of the act.

As for the hospital fuga, it is not a crime to leave a hospital without a doctor's release. Usually they get the patient to sign a waiver that it is against the doctor's wishes. That's the only thing Dan didn't do--still not a crime.

What would have been a "crime" was to stiff the hospital of the bill, but I have a feeling that Cam, as pithed as she was at him would have paid the bill. Still, this would be a civil matter, not a criminal matter in these united states.

While it was true that the police were looking for him, it was only for Andres Duarte to give his statement on what happened the night of the shooting. There were no charges pending. I guess the popo were satisfied with Pablo's declaration.

Anita, just because Dan erased his existence from the prison data base, someone shot Miriam and since no one was found to have done it and the belief from Abraham that Dan did it, that should still exist in the police reports at the police station. When Teresa went there, the guy she talked to wouldn't help her at all. But that info could still be there at the station against Daniel. And this is what he needs to get cleared up.

Thanks Anita. I completely forgot about his computer stint, and missed when they talked about it. Lost as I may get I am sticking with my Spanish CCs. Maybe by next year...

UA - wow. How does one respond to that on a non-political blog? I guess if Miriam DID get an abortion she is still serving her 3-5 years behind bars.

Rafa paid the hospital bill the day that Dan ran out and the doc informed him and Vivi.

Cathyx---there are absolutely no records of Daniel committing a crime in Chile-none of his arrest nothing---as stated by Teresa there were no where to be found which is what is perplexing her so much. And Abraham left on leave even Dante doesn't know where to....

Whatever you guys do, don't miss the month of January shows ... there'll tons to celebrate before we hit obscurity...

Myo-

Thanks Jardinera for a great recap with lots of great snark.

I hate that Alonzo is being wrongfully accused of the Kidnapping. During the entire episode I was sitting on the edge of my seat, screaming at the TV screen, cursing at Bruno etc. With all that going on, I chose my favorite line of the recap as "Ana comes in and tells Mariano about Roman. Mariano promises that he’s going to find Roman. FF>>"

Although I'm not condoning Yago's actions, I must say that his character is more interesting and entertaining for me than either of his brothers.

UA, are you going to recap the Chrismas Eve episode? I'm just wondering if I should be on the lookout or not ...

Renata, if there is zero evidence, then her work there is done. Daniel is cleared of everything. Other than just wanting to know about Miriam's death, when she died and where she is buried, and curiosity about why there is no evidence, she can come back.

Regarding Dante: *swoon*

It seems that I need to go back and watch the early episodes of Dan’s life in Chile to see more of this guy. Move over, DDA, you’ve got some competition for my affections. *fans self*

Totally agree that one of the best moments of this fantastic episode was Daniel’s ignoring Xi. It was an even better put down than what he told his dad.

I agree with everyone that Dan doesn’t have any charges against him at this point, but Dio and Isa wouldn’t know that. They still think he is a convicted murderer on the lam. If they turned him in, who knows how long he could be held while the police try to figure things out – or not – and all sorts of bad things could happen to him while in jail.

Daniel sure has a fluid self identity. He changed his religion (at least nominally) to marry Muriam, he used an alias for months, he is changing his citizenship without much fuss (granted, to save his hide, but still), and he is awfully quick to give up his life as rich rancher (to save Camila’s hide, but still). What does that say about our hero? It seems a little weak to me.

Well, he's not actually giving up his citizenship. He's becoming a dual citizen meaning he'll be both, which is his right as the child of a Mexican citizen. He was never a rancher anyway and my guess is that Cam won't be too pleased about this deal he made.I would call him flexible and cunning, not weak.

Foxy, I am responsible for tomorrow's episode and I'm telling you -- and everyone -- right now not to miss it.

Carolina, El Diablo and Hissadora don't believe Daniel is a murderer on the lam; they know he didn't kill his wife because El Diablo's hit man is the one who was ultimately responsible for that. However, it is in their interest that the lie be pushed until the Chilean authorities would look for him in Mexico.

I believe that Miriam is still alive.

Vivi, I agree with you. Daniel is smart and can hit the ground running.

UA, thanks a bunch in advance for taking the time to recap despite all the Holiday cheer that's going on all around us. (Can you tell that I'm addicted)?

UA, you are absolutely right about El Diablo and Hissadora. They want others to think he is a murderer but they do know the truth. They just want to work their little scam as long as they can.

And I certainly agree that we are supposed to see Dan as smart and cunning and not weak, but I don't know. I think it's odd how easily he has repeatedly changed very basic aspects of his identity. (But I also know it's just a silly TN. Really, I do :-).

Hi y'all! I have been holiday house cleaning....ugh. Taking a break and LMAO at some of these comments.

My idea re the forced turn over of the property under force if it's like what Niece said in Mexico also, is if it's extortion, then let Dan do this: t go report it all to the police and use the family and neighbors all as witnesses. Teresa call your Metepec office! After the fact he's got at least Al who'd turn State's witness for evidence on Mami for revenge and Xi to save his own skin IMO. Next, it'd be to say that yes, he and Dio did put the M.Q. up as part of the deal etc, etc.

Al can turn State's evidence if they don't kill him first.

We'll see. Alonso has been pushed to the brink; they might not believe him.

Carolina: I also think Dante is muy guapo.

Al seems to be suicidal. And don't forget his heart condition.

oooh, right, Nanette. Alonso's heart condition. What a great guessing game for his future:
A- Heart attack?
B- Suicide?
C- Killed?
D- Redeemed?
If you answered A, was it
a)from sheer fear
b)the stress of it all
c)while having sex with a prostitute?

So many lovely choices.

Carolina - you are so funny! "I know it's just a silly TN, really I do."

I'm back. Rosemary,I love your multiple choice test.

I think Dante is handsome too. He has a welcoming warm smile. He needs to pair up with someone. Teresa? Nat's too young, and Xi is too awful. Nit Viv because I want her for Rafa.

That's not Viv, not nit Viv.

I did a test on the verification and it doesn't matter what numbers you put in, just put in the correct letters.

That should be helpful as I can rarely see the dang numbers, even with my glasses on.

Maybe Teresa will be falling for Handsome Dante just as Mariano is realizing he wants to give *her* the heart necklace. I do hope Dante comes to Mexico to see Daniel.

Maybe Aaron and Dante will hit it off?

Well, there do seem to be more guys than gals. That's one solution to evening it out a bit.

UA--Daniel can also hit the water swimming; Carolina--it takes a man with a lot of confidence to throw himself off a cliff into unknown waters below. Of coursem, it was either take the chance or go back to prison, probably dead before he gets there. So far, I don't think he's had any wild swings in his approach to what he set out to do--find out who tried to kill him in Chile and what did it have to do with that inheritance, the Monterdes and La Malquerida. The only thing he didn't count on was falling in love with Camila, then realizing she was in danger from Dio and Al.

RLO--Your Quiz
Not A. Al is definitely stressed. He did the prostitute thing, so I'll eliminate it from the equation. If Hissy hasn't given him a heart attack by now, that's not going to be it.

Not B. He's too much a wimp to try suicide. If finding out Hissy wasn't his mother didn't drive him to suicide (well, actually, he should have done a little dance), it won't be that. He *is* terrified of jail and he'd certainly be a jail-bon-bon, so he might consider it and even try it, but he'll fail.

Maybe C. It might be an accident, but right now there are only two people who *want* him dead. Dio and Hissy. There might be some mis-communication and instead of Bruno getting shot by Omar, Al is--but that's a stretch. Police action? That might be a decent way for him to go, but then it complicates things for the Scoobie Doos + One. Oh, that's right, now that Camila and Dan are back together, we need a complication.

Most Likely D. Stranger things have happened in telenovelalaland. Didn't he go ask to have Julian's phone numbers retrieved from the cell phone? Who else would he be giving that information to but Daniel. He knows Hissy isn't to be trusted and he also knows he's weak around her, but it looks like when he's not with her he's pretty rational. It certainly won't be Dion. Maybe he'll want to use the info to return to Camila's good graces. He's probably too apprehensive to go to the popo and turn state's evidence--right now he hasn't any other evidence than his own word (see above, terrified of jail--and UA is right, they might not believe him). Giving a statement at the precinct is having to sit pretty close to those cells.

Anyway, do we have long to wait???

cathyx--I like Dante and Teresa together, too. For some reason, I just don't see Mariano with anyone. Maybe he just grows old and is everyone's favorite widowed uncle. Ana can provide lots of grandchildren for him to spoil.

OK, folks, Operation Shine the Light now has Nanette's HPLP list (combined with last week's). Get to it through the recap feed on front page sidebar.

Mariano is too nice to end up alone. He reads like a one-woman man and would be a good and faithful husband to some fortunate woman. He has to get over Camila.

I wish he would shave, though. The grey in his beard isn't helping his case.

I think his gray is showing more now that his hair has been tinted more brownish than blonde. How long has Mariano been a widower? He needs to get over that AND Camila.

Anita - thanks for adding Nanette's lists. That was the best misunderstood joke I've said!

Well, amigas, I need some lovin' sent this way. My daughter moved to Iowa yesterday so I am officially an empty nester. Mi nido ahora esta' vacio. Guess I'll be doing the movie thing with my husband for Christmas. Thinking Argo. Also, of course, spending the holiday with mi Caraymates. Thanks for the laughs!

RlaO- We always come back to the nest! Well, at least sometimes. My parents realized that I was never coming back to CA, so they moved out here a few years back. Perhaps a move to Iowa is in your future... :)

I seem to remember 6 years being the number of years Mariano has been a widower for some reason.

Hola y'all. Feliz navidad y toda la cosa.

My guess for Al's comeuppance is Leoncio offs him as part of venganza against the whole threesome before getting his foot caught in a train track-- after a prison escape, por supuesto. A meaninful splat against the locomotive's grill would suffice for telenovela justicia IMO. I don't think we've ever seen death by celluloid train-splatter in one of these things, and I've been watching for a decade or so.

And then when the train stops they see a piece of zebra fabric stuck to the grill and realize he may have been pushed by someone who dresses in safari mode.

Rosemary, I' sorry for you emptynestism. We have only one child, and she's 14. I'm going to just follow her wherever she goes. If my husband wants to come, he can. (I'm really just kidding, that would be weird)

I'm not a huge fan of the 'Fashion Beard', that 's what by BIL says it's called. But I can tolerate it on certain young men. But even if Mariano had a decent beard, he's too old to pull it off. It just makes him look like he's been on a week long bender.

Cathyx/RlaO: LOL! Safari snakes and week long benders. You both nailed 'em.

Aribeth just posted a link to the new Televisa annual Christmas video in a new Amores Verdaderos post. Check it out. It's always fun to try to spot the faces of our favorite stars. I hope everyone is enjoying some nice time off.

I just watched the new Christmas song! Way cute! I saw The Old Fisherman from LQNPA (sorry I don't know everyone's real name), Jose Ron, Cesar Evora looking VERY handsome out of his Dio character, CdeF and a too quick glimpse of Rene C. I did not see SN. Vivi, who'd I miss from CME, LQNPA, El Tal, The Pit and AB?

Cathyx- besides the beard Mariano has that pickled red faced look which also impedes his good looks.

RlaO- This is a good workout for my eyes, brain, and pause button skills. Here's who I saw in the vid from this year's tns:

AB- CdlF; Cesar E. (looking very guapo in a cute scene); Rogelio Guerra (Don Dan)

Refugio: Zuria Vega; Gabriel Soto; Jessica Coch

El Talisman: Blanca Soto (since El Tal was not a Televisa tn, she's there because she's currently starring with Fernando C. in a tn, they are in the same scene in the vid)

The Pit: Rene C.; Alexis Ayala (Dr. Tovar); Altair J.; Eric del Castillo; Mark T.; David Z.; Alejandro Camacho (Augie)-- these last four were hard to catch as they appeared very briefly with a large group during the prayers

LQNPA: Jose Ron; Jorge Salinas; Ana Martin; Ana Brenda

Amorcito Corazon: Elizabeth G; Diego Olivera

Por Ella Soy Eva: Lucero; Jesus Ochoa (Adriano); Marcelo C.; Carlos de la Mota (Sebas)

Amores Verdaderos: Sabastian R.; Eliza G. (Niki); Sherlyn; Enrique Rocha

Whew! And of course many more that we have seen in past novelas, all the Hoy people, some Mex tv personalities that we don't know, and many of the singers that sing theme songs for the tns (I spotted Jenni Rivera- QEPD; Yuri; Jesse y Joy; and singers of the Abismo de Pasion and the Refugio themes).

One addition-- Ed Yanez (AV)

Dear Lord, I hope that Eduardo Y wasn't singing!!!

Good Eagle Eye Vivi! Now that I know who to look for, I'll watch again. Too bad we can't play it in Slo-Mo like I do the Avances. I'm surprised there is no SN.

Heading out into Blizzard Euclid that is just getting to SLC. Why didn't I run my errands this morning?

Cute word verification: inhoney. Yes, that's how I like my scones.

I watched the newest video. It took about 1:00 before I recognized someone. I thought I had the wrong video. Then I saw Cesar Evora. I saw several others, but they flashed by so quickly. I saw Edward Yanez, Sebastian Rulli, and the padreAND Edmundo from Abismo, but it was such a quick shot. Didn't see CdlF, Jorge Salinas, or Jose Ron. I would have thought that they would show the more popular actors longer. Or maybe I just don't know very many actors and actresses.

I just watched last years, and I recognized way way more people it that one.

Okay, I'm back. It took me 15 minutes to drive 3 blocks and another 15 minutes to turn around and drive home. My mom's neighbors will have to wait til tomorrow for their goodies. This is a BIG snowstorm!

cathyx - I'm so with you on not recognizing very many. I bet by next year we'll double how many we know. Let's talk again about how handsome Cesar Evora looked. He doesn't even look like the same Big Bad Wolf!

Rosemary, I could never live where you live. I hate weather like that. He was handsome. I think he's better looking with the goatee and playing a bad guy. I didn't like him in Triunfo de Amor where he played a good guy and no goatee.

Oh no RlaO! I'm glad you turned around. Doesn't sound safe.

Cathy since you watched Triunfo you must have recognized Maite in the first scene with Pedro F from Dinero. I think you know more actors than you realize.

Vivi, I don't know any actor's real names. I can't even remember their names in the TNs they played. Usually, it's the woman with the big hair married to that really bad guy who always wore an ascot, or the doctor who cheated on his wife with that much younger woman who had buck teeth, or that sleezy ho who was the evil sister who slept with her best friends husband. That how I remember people.

Just watched the video again. Was that a blonde Blanca Soto? Ew.

As long as they had little kids in it, I wish they'd chosen little Elisa. She was so dang cute.

lol cathyx - or that Orange lady, or that sister with the jiggly butt, or that guy with the red string around his wrist. It's bad! I can't even remember Blanca's sweet husband from The Pit's name now, but I did see him this last time in the video. Blanca and ________? I know we all adored him. Shoot. My mind.

Rosemary, Blanca's husband's name is the handsome older man with very good diction.

Eric del Castillo is his name. And Maite Peroni was the protagonist in Triunfo.

Thanks Vivi. I call her evil religious mother of the priest lady. I did recognize her.

Ah that's Daniela Romo. Maite was the sweet young thing paired with hot William Levy. No biggie if you can't remember her. She's not that compelling IMO.

I did see evil religious lady in the video. But you're talking about Maria Desamparada. That's one of the few names I remember. I agree, she's pretty but not that memorable.

But what was Blanca's husband's name? The character? Not the real person.

Lucio

Right! Don Lucio. All I could come up with was Padrino. I looked up Eric del Castillo when you mentioned his name earlier and saw that he has prostate cancer and will not treat it with chemo. I would watch ANY other show he is in as I can actually understand him! I get a false sense of being fluent when I listen to him. His would be a perfect voice for audio books.

I know I don't post a lot but I am still watching AB intently. Can't wait to see what happens next. I also think that Miriam is still alive. Anyway, ¡Feliz Navidad a todos!
