Caray, Caray!

I haven't seen it, and my current hotel doesn't get any telenovela channels. What the frack?!?! I am a bit bereft without my daily dose ;).

After the insane choking attempt, Fernando is finally determined to divorce Manuela and get his family life put back together, but at the office Isa won't have anything to do with him relationship-wise until he is actually divorced. [Yay, Isa!] Isa presents some new house designs to Jorge and Fer while they each fantasize about wanting to be with her.

The narco cops bust Fernando for drugs found in the trunk of his car after Jorge makes an anonymous tip call to the police. It takes Cecilio et al. forever to locate where the arresting officers took Fernando. Beba has to call Idrogo to get him to find out. The police take fingerprints off the drug packages, and Fernando's weren't on it. They search on the fingerprints that they do find.

Much to Hortensia's delight, another smear article is published about the casa hogar, this time naming Willy as being involved in the child trafficking there. With Cecilio and Lucia distracted with Fernando's arrest, Willy organizes the neighborhood to go after the newspaper printing the lies and make public their support for the casa hogar.

Zoe is not ready to get back with Felipe, but idiot Felipe thinks he still has a chance since Zoe is actually speaking to him and made him a meal. And so Cecilio feels he has to step aside so as not to ruin Felipe's "chance". In the meantime Zoe is all bent out of shape that Cecilio seems to be dating Lucia, and Isa teases her about being jealous.

Hortensia goes to the school to pickup her granddaughters. Marisol is horrified at the news of her father's arrest, but she doesn't buy Hortensia's insistence that the girls must move in with her since the casa hogar is in scandal and Fer is arrested. She sends a friend to make her excuses to Horny, and collects her sisters - Willy will come pick them up.

The mysterious gringo backer of Jorge is furious when he finds out that Jorge had Fernando arrested to get even with him. The gringo is worried about the construction business being OK. Jorge tries to assure him the construction business will be fine.

We set my Dad up with an AppleTV connected to the Internet, and so we are watching our shows via Hulu+ on his TV. Otherwise, I expect we would be watching on our laptops.
 

Julia- I didn't see today's epi but yesterday sucked. Fer was arrested and everyone spent the episode worried and panicking and Horrible and Horty spent the epi gloating.

Martes

Horny realizes Marisol is trying to give her the slip and goes by the casa hogar and gets told off by Jazmin - great scene. The old witch then calls Knuckles to get his help.

Willy and Juancho go to the park to pick up the Maris. Knuckles calls and she blows up at him and hangs up.

EWM fires the nurse once she learns Fer is in jail and then arrives at the jail to harass Isa and a police officer, who threatens her as well.

Beba frets about Fer while her son lies and gloats. Gabino comes by and seems to make the mistake of updating her about Fer with Jorrible presence.

Jazmin makes the mistake of telling Barf the whereabouts of Marisol and Juancho.

EWM foolishly goes to her mother and asks her to help Fer. Horny reacts as we would expect so EWM leaves promising her she will be alone; we hope that is a foreshadowing of Horny's future.

Fer's declaration seems to go on forever and the drug charges are so serious he can't have any visitors; we must attribute this to TN rules though I don't know how Mexican law threats these things. EWM manages to visit Fer in jail.

The campaign to save the casa hogar from bad press continues.

We know we are in the ultimas semanas b/c Isa becomes suspicious of Jorrible's accusation against Fer.

Nacho and Chicho have developed a cheer for both Lucia and Willy that is hilarious; it's toward the end of the episode and worth seeing.

Hint of things to come? Jaibo in the hospital thinking he's died and in heaven -- then actually seems to welcome the visit by the nun.

Fernando in jail waiting for the lawyers, waiting to make a statement -- it's all too much waiting and wailing.

But you gotta hand it to manuela -- she knew how to pull some strings and get permission to visit Fer in jail -- the only one allowed.

Thanks so much Karen for the recap! I just caught up on yesterday and today's episodes. Yes, there is much waiting around that happens, but here are the many things I really enjoyed:

- The cheers Nacho and Chico come up with.
- Willy playing with the little Maris.
- Willy and Lucia getting closer during the protest and the meeting with the newspaper editor. Although they both seem to think the other is interested in someone else, at least they aren't hostile anymore and are working together.
- Juancho and Marisol getting closer over all the Lobo family troubles.
- The protest. Although Jazmine's poor baby seemed terrified, it warmed my heart that it was Moncho who took the little one to try to calm him down.
- Padre Tio and Lucia telling Madre Superior to shove it.
- Marisol telling Knuckles to shove it.
- Marisol avoiding Horny and caring for her little sisters.
- Isa going off script during the press conference and annoying Jorrible by singing Fer's praises.
- Everyone annoying Jorrible by repeating that Fer has to be innocent.

 

Vivi thanks so much for Wednesday's recap! I too am happy Willy and Lucia are being civil to one another and watching everyone annoying Jorrible was so much fun. It seems we are slowly turning the corner to better times for the good guys, yeah.
 

Wow! Exciting episode today. Can you tell I have the week off? :)
- After she goes off script during the press conference, and sings Fernando’s praises, Jorrible shows Isa his true horrible face and fires her. The scales finally fall completely from Isa’s eyes.
- At the police station, Isa tells Cecilio, Felipe and Lucia about what happened with Jorrible. She now suspects he may be behind framing Fernando.
- The police show the foursome the results of the fingerprinting. Fer’s fingerprints were not on the drugs, but they did find the fingerprints of Ricky on the drugs AND the opening of Fer’s car trunk. They show everyone a picture of “Ricardo” and Lucia ids him as Willy’s wayward brother who is also on the run for the baby-napping; and Isa ids Ricky as a former employee of Jorrible. The wheels in everyone’s heads start going. Yay! The cops will investigate Ricky and Jorrible and their connection, but they still can’t release Fer until they have more proof that he was framed and had nothing to do with the drugs.
- Isa, Felipe and Cecilio want Fer to appoint Isa as his representative in the company so that she can keep an eye on Jorrible. Fer refuses because he doesn’t want to put Isa in danger, now that they think Jorrible was behind the drugs.
- Marisol once again breaks up with Knuckles. He once again tries to guilt trip her into being his girlfriend. He gives her the (stolen) bracelet he was going to give her for her b-day, as part of his guilt trip efforts. Now Marisol has in hand the bracelet that once belonged to her mother and was ripped off her cold dead hands soon after/during her murder. It’s only a matter of time before someone who recognizes it sees it.
- Knuckles now knows that Barf has been playing dirty and instead of trying to break Marisol and Juancho up, has been trying to get them together. He threatens that if she doesn’t get with the program, he’ll tell her family all about her secret life and her lies.
- Zoe speaks to Sarita on the phone and tells her about all the drama with Fer in jail. Sarita decides to hop on the next bus back to the city to support Isa.
- Mani-comio decides to get rid of Isa, once and for all. She crawls under Isa’s car and in the most inept way possible, cuts Isa’s brake line. She also ends up cutting her hand, leaving a trail of blood and brake fluid under Isa’s car. Evidence baby!
- Once back in the apt, Mani hides the tool she used to cut the breaks in the couch, wraps her hand up, and runs out of the house to see a doctor who gives her stitches. She tells him she cut her hand opening a can.
- Lu Chong finds the tool and is mighty confused. He also sees the bloody hand and worries she might have tried to cut her veins again. He calls Horny’s house, and of course gets blown off.
- Horny is also busy blowing off the reporter she paid to write those stories about Lucia and Willy. But Willy is already on the trail and has asked the maid to be on the lookout for this guy. She calls Willy and tells him about the reporter’s visit, but begs to not be revealed as the snitch.
- Adelita asks Willy and Lucia to be padrinos at her and Moncho’s wedding. She tells them both they can bring their new significant others. It’s clear they would both rather go with each other and are tired of this game. Willy says he’s more determined than ever to fight for Lucia’s love. Yay!
- Sarita arrives and Zoe goes to pick her up at the bus station…driving Isa’s car. The brakes fail and Zoe goes crashing into a pole at a good speed. Isa is called and she, Cecilio, Felipe and Lucia head to the hospital.
- Zoe is rolled in unconscious and in bad shape. The doc asks Felipe how far along Zoe is, and he is either too shocked to answer or doesn’t know (wouldn’t be surprising). Cecilio is the one to give the doctor the answer of 7 months. The docs do an emergency C-section and the baby appears fine. Unfortunately, Zoe isn’t doing so well and is hemorrhaging! And on that shocking note ends our episode. Whew!

 

Today's episode was very exciting.

Thank you for the reminder about the bracelet. It has been so long that I completely forgot about that little plot point!

I did not like the look of the avances for Zoe.

Ok so what do you all think about the way the Jaibo plot is going? Do you think he is really going to redeem himself and what does that mean for Aldo? Also if he actually changes, does that mean there is no redemption for his buddy rIcky?
 

Karen- You're welcome. I like where the Jaibo plot is going because it hopefully means he'll help Doris out and get her out of jail. Then I hope he willingly gives her custody of Aldo.

Ricky is a lost cause. I only feel sorry for his mother. The question is-- is Barf a lost cause? Because that would be too much for one mother to take to have to write off two of her three kids.
 

From yesterday, Horny and Isa basically stated that their secret was covering up Sofia's death. We know that EWM is going down but that conversation I think ensures that really bad things will happen to Horny too.

I'm hoping Zoe will survive and the doctors will realize the baby is Mr. C.'s.
 

Vivi - It will be too much for Lala to have both children as criminals. Though the plots for Barf and Jorrible are similar (their mothers have an inkling that they are bad seeds), when the truth comes back on both of them, their mothers will be crushed.

It's good that they never told Tuqueque who is real father is b/c rIcky is awful.

Julia - I hope you are enjoying your vaca sans TNs.

Güera - rIcky and Jaibo robbed Horny and got the bracelet there; EWM had taken it when she killed her sister. Then Jaibo sold it to Knuckles. As Vivi noted, that's a huge bomb waiting to happen b/c I think it was a gift from Fer. It's appearance will expose Knuckles shadiness as well as EWM link to killing her sister.

I finally downloaded the Huluplus app for my iPad so I could watch the shows on it (and not just on my Dad's TV). And the video quality is amazing! It's because I have a retina display, but still!! I was even watching over a cellphone connection. The only reason I hadn't tried it before was because I kept reading bad reviews about the app.
 

Thanks, Karen! I am enjoying my trip very much in spite of the lack of telenovelas. I'm in Buenos Aires; it's summer; what's not to love? I am filling the gap with Argentinean cooking shows at the end of the day when I can do no more.

It's interesting that the same bracelet links nearly all our baddies. Is Jorrible the only one left out? I'm glad Isa is over her delusions about him. There is a lot of hell waiting to break loose. Hee hee hee.heeded

Let's see, today's happenings...much of it took place in Zoe's hospital.

- The writers really keep us on the edge of our seat about Zoe. The doctors are shown sewing her up like a Thanksgiving turkey, then she flatlines. We then see Zoe in a forest with lots of mist. She looks through the mist and sees Felipe smiling at her. She smiles back and starts walking towards him. Then the mist gets heavy and when it clears a bit, Zoe sees that Felipe has turned into Cecilio. Just as she starts to walk towards him she starts to float upwards. Up, up and away.
- While Zoe is following the light in the operating room-- Isa has gone to collect Sarita from the bus station; Cecilio and Lucia wait and fret; and Felipe goes to see his baby daughter in the incubator and cries a lot about what a horrible husband and father he has been to date. He seems to be having a true come to Jesus (or Buddha, or Mohamed) moment.
- Finally the doc comes out and says that although there were some scary moments, Zoe is now stable and recovering. Felipe wants to go see her, but guess what? Cecilio is the only person she has been asking for since the moment she regained consciousness. Felipe graciously encourages Cecilio to go in to see her. Signs of growth!
- Cecilio shares a tender moment with a very groggy Zoe.
- Later Felipe goes in to see her, while Cecilio is visiting the baby (the nurse thinks he is the father and he is his usual sweet self, reminding the baby they have already met from all those times he spoke to her through her mom’s belly). Zoe is really weak but desperate to see her baby. Felipe calls Cecilio and has him put the phone near the baby so that Isa can speak to her. Then Cecilio takes a picture of the baby and sends it to Felipe’s phone for Zoe to see. Many happy tears all around for these three. But it’s still unclear if Zoe has made a choice—Felipe, Cecilio, or neither?
- Unfortunately, Mani was at the same hospital getting her stitches. She at first gloats when she see the folks waiting because she think her plan worked and Isa has had an accident. When she finds out it was Zoe instead, she gets pissed. She gets even more enraged when she finds out from Lucia that Lu Chong has been calling around trying to get help with crazy Mani.
- Mani heads home in a rage, and I really worry that Lu Chong is next on her hit list. Luckily, she just kicks him out of the house. He is VERY lucky.
- While on the phone with Lucia, Lu Chong told her about Mani’s bloody hand and the tool she hid in the couch. Like everyone else, Lucia blew off Lu Chong and told him to try to get Horny to take care of her daughter.
- The owner of the Casa Hogar tells Lucia and the single mothers that her son is having economic troubles abroad and they need to sell the house. They all have a month to move out, or to come up with the money to buy the house. Marifer offers up their apartment, since her dad is traveling and they can stick Mani in Marisol’s room. LOL!
- The little Maris are supportive of Marisol getting back together with Juancho, and it looks like Marisol is more than ready to do it. She puts THE BRACELET from Knuckles in a drawer in her bedroom in the Casa Hogar.

 

Recap Part 2:
- Since Fer won’t let her be his rep in the biz and spy on Jorrible, Isa enlists Poncho’s help. He is all ready to set up all kinds of spying equipment on Jorrible’s phones, office, and computer. Yay!
- Willy has the same kind of plan with Horny. He goes to her house, pretending he’s back to his old gigolo ways and wants to get back at Lucia (for dating Cecilio) by getting busy with Horny. He tries to get her to admit to him that she paid the reporter, while slyly putting his cell phone on record. Horny thinks she’s cleverer than he is and grabs the phone and shuts off the recording. THEN she admits everything she did to discredit Lucia and him. She does not realize that Willy has a backup recorder in his pocket and got her whole confession! Yay!
- The cops begin their investigation of the Jorrible-Ricky connection and go to Jorrible’s/Beba’s house. Jorrible at first denies he knows Ricky, but then has to admit sort of remembering him when the cop says Isa told them he worked for Jorrible. Jorrible is not pleases to learn about the fingerprints or the fact that Isa put the cops on his trail.

Julia - wow, Buenos Aires how exciting! Are you speaking lots of Spanish?
 

Trying to speak Spanish! I'm just starting to get the hang of the local dialect and accent. It's a lot different from Mexican Spanish. I must seem like I fit in, though, because people keep asking me for directions and today I got charged the locals price for the Tren de la Costa instead of the posted extranjeros price.

I hope the rest of you are having fiestas as feliz as mine.

I know the writers are trying to make Zoe's choice suspenseful but F5 is not an option just an annoyance. I hope the doctors tell her the baby is NOT seven months old.

I look forward to Poncho using the computer for good b/c at the beginning he was spying/harming Isa. And the younger Maris encouraging their sister to go with Juancho shows once again that they are the brightest individuals in this TN.
 

Karen- ITA about Felipe. I want the writers and Zoe to put us and Felipe out of his misery already by ending things once and for all and telling him she chooses Cecilio.
 

Vivi--thanks to you, Audrey and Karen for keeping us up on this huge inter-related mess of tiresome fun and hijinks.

Zoe probably still firmly believes that this baby is F5's, so she will continue to be conflicted. She knows the difference between love and duty, but perhaps has the illusion that some sparks remain between herself and F5, especially if F5 turns into a devoted dad.

The only thing I can see changing her attitude and turn her towards Cecilio now is to find out the baby was full term--and surely she knows how to count backwards.
 

Oh, and wasn't the marriage between F5 & Zoe a kind of unexpected spur of the moment thing--or was that just EWM & Fer's.
 

Anita- You are correct. They were drunk when they got married. I remember them both being surprised to find the marriage certificate the next day, and Felipe showed his jerk flag by accusing Zoe of purposely trapping him into marrying her. Yeah, the first of many clues that this guy was NOT a keeper.
 

Ania - you bring up a good point about Zoe being conflicted b/c of the baby and being a single mother. But F5 has been such a liar, cheater, and basically immature person with no character that to hold onto the fantasy that being a father will change him is just foolish. That's why I hope the baby is not F5's then she can leave him without being conflicted; his behavior has alienated so many of us its hard to believe she would tolerate staying in a relationship with such a man just b/c of paternity as there are no guarantees he would be a good father.
