Amores Verdaderos #20 Wed 12/5/12 Nikki has Avacadoes; Ms Vikki Asks and the Angel Gives; Tomasina and the Two Suitors
We start this epi with Kendra (the lying ho) and Nikki huddled on that filthy mattress. Kendra advises Nikki to get some shut eye, it will make the time go by faster, but Nikki is horrified to be sleeping on this dirty mattress. Kendra says she would scream (as if) but noone would hear. Nikki thinks Kendra is sooo nice. They are going to be great friends, Okay??? Kendra thinks Nikki is sweet.
Next we have Dances with Sunglasses, walking outside muttering to himself, that everything is going according to his planes, bwaaahhaaa. Just then Zambrano, the other bodyguard comes up to Dances with Sunglasses, and Dances wants to know what is goin' on. Zambrano thinks something strange is goin' on here. He talked to the guards, they aren't involved, for sure. So that only leaves two options, and what are those, Dances with Sunglasses wants to know, either someone followed Nikki for days, meh, Dances says can't be, Guzmancito would have noticed, or there is a mole in the house, Yeah, Zambrano and you are lookin' right at him, jus' sayin'. Dances gets way upset, with Zambrano's speculation, one of his buddies could lose his job, but hey, Dances will keep his comment in mind. Oh Zambrano, if you only knew.
Polita, Tomasina and Jean Marie are in the kitchen praying to the Virgencita, the Hail Mary, for Nikki's safe return.

There is a very tight hug, the holding goes on and they both cry! Such is our star crossed couple. She pulls away finally, and thanks him. She just feels so unprotected right now, vulnerable because they have taken away the person she most loves in all the world, her little girl. But, our Ms Vikki, is very sensitive to the fact that the Angel almost lost his little girl in a fire, not too long ago. Sigh, these two. So who comes to interrupt, you ask? I'll give you two guess, and the first doesn't count. It's the A$$HAT of course, askin' his wifey pooh, why she let him fall asleep. He could have drunk some coffee to stay awake, jus' sayin'. Well ,they are giving the ransom over tomorrow, but be careful with Nikki, Dances doesn't want her hurt. The henchie promises all will go well, but wants to know what the cut of the ransom will be? Well, what they agreed on of course, no discussion of this, when the Angel comes in. Of course, Dances, pretends it's his mama on the phone. The Angel says this late at night, well yeah, Dances says, well say hi to her from me, which Dances does. He tells his Mama to take care and Click! The Angel informs him that Nelson wants to see him.
Next we have poor Guzmancito, riddled with guilt, thinking about Nikki. He remembers her swimming at the club, the first time he met her,and then the fake drowning, where he was about to give her mouth to mouth. Meantime, Nikki is trying to sleep or is asleep and she calls Guzmancito's name, dear Guzmancito. She dreams about herself and Guzmancito running through a field, kinda playing hide and seek, and then smoochies! She calls his name in her sleep again. Now back to Guzmancito, who is mentally asking Nikki to forgive him, if he had stayed and looked after her she'd be in her own bed asleep by now. He swears no matter what it takes, he will get her back.

Meantime, Kendra is kicked back with the other henchie, talkin' to her co-hort Dances with Sunglasses, and is crowing about this successful kidnap, they will be millionaires now, celebrate at a luxury hotel and then it's on to the South Seas on some island. Of course, she has to rub it in, if he listens to her, SHE succeeds, doncha know. He tells her to quit braggin' already. Of course, Dances with Sunglasses is the puppet master, er he is pullin' the strings'. Well she passes him besoes over the phone, and for realz tonight. Well, Archie has come in and told the other henchie and Kendra, Nikki woke up hungry and he checks the cooler, which only has beer, figures. So they send him out to get something for Nikki. After Archie goes, Kendra tells the other henchie after this job, get rid of this guy, cause he punched her and it hurt! Hope the hurt lasts for a good long time, jus' sayin'.

Salsero says they have complied with everything, it's all ready, and where should we " drop" it? Now they have to listen where the drop will be. Meantime, Archie has brought Nikki food, and now she wants to be untied, so she can eat. He unties her and she say's he's way cool, they could have been friends under other circumstances. Now it looks like he is on top of her, or next to her, I can't tell, my cable picture is dark, and there is some heavy breathing, blech. But hold on a sec, Nikki has grabbed Archie's gun, who knew she had AVACADOES!!!! Now back to the ransom call again. Dances is talkin' with head henchie, no funny bidness or the girl, Nikki is dead. Dances says will go as agreed and they want both women. Ms Vikki grabs that phone and tells head henchie she wants her daughter back in one piece, and he tells her the same thing he told Dances with Sunglasses, do everything according to plan and you will. Ms Vikki wants to talk to Nikki, to make sure she's ok. He tells her she can't and to trust him, really, trust him, oye vey!!!! Well she tells him you want the two million dollars get her on the phone already. Head henchie thinks the "old lady" is getting on his last nerve, and in comes Nikki now with that gun, pointed at Archie and now points it at head henchie and he has Kendra round the neck and Nikki is telling head henchie to let Kendra go, or else she is gonna kill him!! Well Ms Vikki is freaking out now, she heard her girl, she is wayyy upset and they try to calm her down. She's heard her daughter's voice and knows she is alive at least. All these guys want is the money, and as soon as they get it, they'll get Nikki and Kendra back. Dances reminds them, as long as noone else interferes with the negotiations, nothing will go wrong, he'll handle it, handle it. Tomasina is thinking of Nikki and what kind of night she spent, and they tell her to cheer up. She'll be home before you know it. Well Tomasina has a visitor, it is Felipe! She thinks he has come to see Guzmancito, and now really isn't a good time, but no, he has come to see her. It's about that lucky number she whispered in his ear yesterday, doncha know. He played the lottery and won! So he has brought her some chocolates. Polita, bless her heart, gives grief to Felipe for spending his son's hard earned money, doncha know, good for her I say, but there shouldn't be any secrets between parents and children. Well, now there is another delivery, for Tomasina! A bunch beautiful red roses, and Jean Marie, Mon Dieu, is it your birthday??? Kendra begs her to just do it. The gist was Mommy and Daddy, Kendra and I are fine, please get us outta here! They separate Kendra and Nikki again. Nikki is being handled roughly and Kendra is beggin' them to be gentle with her, don't hurt her, and head henchie says up to her. Nikki is now off with Archie, and Kendra and head henchie are talkin about how they didn't expect Nikki to be so brave as to grab that gun. So now they are going over the plan. Head henchie will deliver Nikki to her Mama once the ransom is paid, but keep Kendra as insurance so to speak, of course after the money split, Dances with Sunglass and Kendra will split to the South Sea Island. Then of course if the police aren't involved they will "set Kendra free".
Of course, the Head of Security, Balvanera, is calling Lucinda, the secretary and tells her to cancel all meetings that Nelson and Ms Vikki have that day, and if Anibal asks, tell him they have meetings outside the office. Click. He is now lookin' for Angel and Guzmancito.
So Guzmancito has called a friend of his in the States named Robert. Guzmancito's accent is very thick and thanks Robert. His friend Robert can track telecommunications, you know, cell phone calls, pinging off towers, cause the 'nappers have been using a private number. Now back to the upside down hostage situation. Head henchie is threatening to blow Kendra's brains out, and Nikki is wanting to shoot head henchie, please girl, shoot him. Kendra is beggin her to think about what she is doin', don't do it. Head henchie has let her go, and Kendra wants Nikki to surrender the gun, which, Nikki does, boo hiss, shoulda shot head henchie, jus' sayin'. Anyhoo, they warn her not to do that again, or she won't live to tell about it, and of course Kendra is "comforting" her.
Tomasina is thinking of Nikki and what kind of night she spent, and they tell her to cheer up. She'll be home before you know it. Well Tomasina has a visitor, it is Felipe! She thinks he has come to see Guzmancito, and now really isn't a good time, but no, he has come to see her. It's about that lucky number she whispered in his ear yesterday, doncha know. He played the lottery and won! So he has brought her some chocolates. Polita, bless her heart, gives grief to Felipe for spending his son's hard earned money, doncha know, good for her I say, but there shouldn't be any secrets between parents and children. Well, now there is another delivery, for Tomasina! A bunch beautiful red roses, and Jean Marie, Mon Dieu, is it your birthday??? He thinks he is losing his head, in other words, forgot, but no not her birthday. There is a card and it is signed by, guess who??That's right El Turko!!!! My, my Tomasina had no beaus before and now she has two!
Now we have the Angel and Guzmancito in the bodyguard quarters and Guzmancito is feeling responsible for Ms Vikki's grief over her kidnapped daughter and his charge. If he could just catch those bad guys, he'd destroy them, as in beat them to a pulp. Well now he has come up with an idea. He'll use technology. There is a way to track these wretches by using coordinates!
Meantime, back to the kidnapper's lair. Now the head henchie has a tape recorder and he wants Nikki to make a message for her mother, but they are really rough on her, hurting her. Kendra begs her to just do it. The gist was Mommy and Daddy, Kendra and I are fine, please get us outta here! They separate Kendra and Nikki again. Nikki is being handled roughly and Kendra is beggin' them to be gentle with her, don't hurt her, and head henchie says up to her. Nikki is now off with Archie, and Kendra and head henchie are talkin about how they didn't expect Nikki to be so brave as to grab that gun. So now they are going over the plan. Head henchie will deliver Nikki to her Mama once the ransom is paid, but keep Kendra as insurance so to speak, of course after the money split, Dances with Sunglass and Kendra will split to the South Sea Island. Then of course if the police aren't involved they will "set Kendra free".
Of course, the Head of Security, Balvanera, is calling Lucinda, the secretary and tells her to cancel all meetings that Nelson and Ms Vikki have that day, and if Anibal asks, tell him they have meetings outside the office. Click. He is now lookin' for Angel and Guzmancito.
So Guzmancito has called a friend of his in the States named Robert. Guzmancito's accent is very thick and thanks Robert. His friend Robert can track telecommunications, you know, cell phone calls, pinging off towers, cause the 'nappers have been using a private number. Anyhoo, his friend Robert will track the ransom call when it comes in, they can get coordinates and find Kendra and Nikki.
Vikki is sobbing and thinking maybe it is better to call the cops too, those wretches still haven't called. Well, here come Guzmancito and the Angel to the rescue. They explain to Ms Vikki about the telecommunications angle, and the coordinates they can get, and localize the area the calls are coming from. Well, Dances with Sunglasses, says it can't be done. No way, no how, He is HEAD OF SECURITY, and he says no go. It's illegal he says. Well Nelson has had enough and says well kidnapping is illegal, ya think!!! Of course, Dances with Sunglasses is trying to say that he promised he would do as the kidnappers asked, doncha know. Well, Guzmancito has hooked up his laptop to the phone and it rings. It's head henchie warning them, if Ms Vikki gets demanding, he'll hang up. That won't happen. Well to show good will, the head henchie plays that tape Nikki made. Head henchie says they have to do exactly what he tells them, got the money, well yeah, no cops, well yeah, no cops at all, will call tomorrow with the meeting place and well, Guzmancito has the track of where the kidnappers have Nikki and Kendra right on his laptop!!!!! Head hencie has hung up. Of course, everyone is happy but Dances With Sunglasses!!!!!

My impression was that when Dances with Sunglasses walked away from Zambrano after Zambrano mentioned that there could be a mole in the house, DWS was smiling, maybe thinking of turning this around to his advantage, possibly blaming Angel for the kidnapping later on, or if something goes haywire, to blame Angel for the consequences.

I'm not surprised Nikki turned the tables on her captors. People do surprising things - adrenaline and anger kick in and you can do foolish things or take chances you never thought you would. She has spunk and courage.
Loved the hug Angel and Vikki shared. Comforting and heartfelt.
Anibal immediately sensed something when he ran into Chris. The famous call of the blood.
Can't wait for our heros to turn the tables. Let's get Nikki home safe and sound.

LOL Emarie, totally agree, Nicky seems to be able to look after herself just fine,... but it is her self-esteem and the way she looks at herself that needs work. A man who truly loves her might be the best med in that case...

Thanks for the recap. I fell asleep , but I did get to see Big Angel consoling Miss Vikki. Wow..her eyes looked so red from crying. That kind of crying when your eyes actually hurt. Big Ed is a big hero... all the adjectives mentionned. WHATAMAN. The world would be much better with more guys like him.

Great recap Mads! This show is becoming more entertaining as is goes along. Nicki used her brains this episode-- using the fact that the goon had a thing for her to butter him up, get him to untie her, and grab for his gun. Had she not felt Kendra was in danger, she really could have saved herself.
Gringo- I noticed that too, about the gun, it looks like the same one that the Angel almost shot Ms Vikki with.I am hoping that after this Nikki tones down too. She only said Okay once through this whole kidnap, lol. I don't know if she will lose her snobbishness though.
Vivi- I too agree, if it hadn't been for Kendra being "kidnapped" with Nikki, she would have gotten away. And she did use her brain against that kidnapper, she must have got that from Vikki not Nelson.

In that last scene in the apartment, (while his mistress is playing the piano) Anibal is shown standing in some kind of elevator or electric lift. Does anyone know what is it? Since he plays tennis, I don't think he would need any kind of mechanical assistance.

GinCA- They left the ending open for "Luz" and the CE character. After his son died at the end, it was implied that he, Luz and Xochitl formed a type of family unit.
Oh Carlos, you would have LOVED Altair in ENDA. She was at her worst (uber bitch), but also her most touching/tender.
