Amor Bravío #77 (Uni 72) Tue 12/4/12 The Truth, The Whole Truth, and Nothing But The Truth. And oh yeah, here’s another truth!

Dion and Agustina’s Date Night
Dionicio parks the car a few blocks from the restaurant and Agustina complains about this.  Agustina sees Amanda walking with Osvaldo and points her out to Dionicio, obviously not realizing she’s his ex.  As usual, he’s not really paying attention to her until she says Amanda is Natalia’s mom.  As soon as she says “Natalia”, he’s all ears.  He sees Amanda and seems to recognize her!  He flashes back to his younger, and much more handsome, self.  Young Dion has come into his office to find paperwork thrown on the floor.  He yells for Amanda (in old Dion’s voice).  The maid tells him the Mrs. isn’t in (she refers to him as Don Hector).  He demands to know who’s been rifling through his things!  He’s quickly putting everything away, including a few passports.  The maid has no idea and assumes it must have been la Señora, who’s left with the baby.  She didn’t say where she was going.  All she knows is that she packed a suitcase for herself and another for la niña Natalia and then she left!  We come back to the present Dionicio.  He quickly tells Agustina he’s changed his mind and they should park closer to the restaurant.

LeonCerdo’s Prison/hospital room
Piedad has come to face him.  “Who knew I’d end up seeing you like this,” she says.  “Life really can be just.  You’re now getting what you deserve! (he growls, like the animal he is)  Yes, I can imagine you don’t want to see me any more than I want to see you.  Don’t worry.  If I came, it was only out of charity (caridad), which you don’t deserve.  You’re dead to me – since the day you hurt my Luzma.  I just want you know I’ve told the police the whole truth about Julian.  They know about the gun that El Patrón gave you which is exactly like the one used to kill Julian.  I don’t care if you look at me that way, because I know I did the right thing.  I was finally able to tell the truth, because I’m no longer afraid of you!  I finally realized why you didn’t want me to say anything – it was to cover up the fact that you killed Julian!” (well, it’s easy to stand up to someone who is tied to a bed and has his tongue cut out, just sayin’)

Date Night
He’s helping her out of the car and she’s saying how lucky they were to have found such a great parking space.  He agrees they were very “lucky” to have come.

At another place in town
Luzma comes across Irene, who’s very happy to see her.  Luzma explains she’s seeing a psychologist.  Irene doesn’t understand why she would need a psychologist when she has her.  That’s what friends are for, to talk about everything.  Luzma doesn’t see it that way.  She doesn’t think she can ever trust Irene again.  Irene can see it’s because of what happened with Luzma’s Tío.  She explains again that the reason she told was because everyone needed to know what had happened.  Luzma understands and has tried to overcome the fact that Irene betrayed her trust, but she can’t forget it.  Irene thought she had forgiven her for talking.  Luzma still fells something has changed (broken) between them and there’s no way to mend it.  Irene pleads with her to reconsider and give her another chance.  She feels Luzma is her best friend and must give her another chance.  Luzma makes an excuse that her mother is waiting and leaves poor Irene anguished over the loss of their friendship.

Buenaventura
Cayetano asks Rocio  why it should bother her if Camila were to become part of their family.  Rocio says it’s because Camila’s now a divorcée .  She doesn’t a woman with a past like that for her Mariano.  Besides she’s Daniel Monterde’s niece and no one in that family is happy.  Cayetano pooh-poohs her.  Rocio asks him to consider the “facts”:   Amparo died, and she was never happy with Daniel; Agustina was widowed (from Humberto) at a young age and this is her third marriage; and Camila is following in her mother’s footsteps.  C’mon, she doesn’t want someone like that for her son.  Pablo comes charging in demanding to know why she lied when she told them she ran into Padre Anselmo at the church when in reality he came to her at the ranch.  Mom says “What does it matter where I saw him?”  “What matters”, says Pablo, “is that he came to intercede for Luzma and me – and you didn’t tell us that either!”  Cayetano speaks up now, saying there’s no reason for anyone to intercede for anyone, especially someone who isn’t family!  Pablo’s fed up.  He sees that they insist on not listening to him or to anyone who supports him. They leave him no other choice but to act on his own.  He lowers the boom and tells them he is not going away to study.  In fifteen days, he will marry Luzma!  If they’re not there when he asks for her hand, it doesn’t matter because he doesn’t need them!  Cayetano tells him he knows what he and Rocio think.  Pablo counters by saying they know what he thinks, so there’s no need for further discussion!  He turns to leave but Rocio calls him back, asking him to think it over carefully, quoting a dicho:  Cuando el hambre entra por la puerta, el amor sale por la ventana!  (when hunger comes knocking on the door, love goes out the window)  Pablo explains he and Luzma have gone through some really difficult times yet their love always holds them together.  So if his parents not going to support him in this, he’s going to make the decision that’s best for them (he and Luzma) he expects he won’t embarrass them.  Having said that, he leaves.

Camila’s Cabin
Camila returns with lunch.  She tells Daniel about Piedad’s statement, referring to Julian.  She’s not surprised to learn that Daniel knew about the relationship between Julian and Piedad.  Again, she’s the last to find out.  He tries to calm her down and makes the mistake of calling her “mi amor” which doesn’t please her.  “Why not? You are,” he responds.  He’s trying to talk to her but she’s not budging.  He starts by saying, “Now that there are no secrets between us…” to which she responds, “are you sure?”  He climbs out of bed, wincing in pain.  He can see it’s difficult for her to trust him but he knows that together, they can work it out.  She asks him to stop referring to them as if there is still a “nosotros”.   He tells her that while she was out gallivanting about with Mariano, Alonso discovered him and now knows he’s Daniel.  Camila is concerned he’ll go blab this to everyone. He’s in danger.  Daniel tells her not to worry, he’s made a deal with Alonso.  He’s happy to see she still worries about him.

La Hacienda
Ximena returns to find Alonso back in their room.  He fibs and says he waited for Camila at her cabaña but got tired of waiting (never mentions his tête-á-tête w/Daniel).  Ximena knows she’s back and doesn’t hesitate to tell him she saw her returning with Don Mariano.  She notes Camila doesn’t take too long to find comfort.  She was dumped by her chofer/espía and now she has someone new to comfort her.  Camila puts on airs that she’s so pure when she actually goes from man to man.  After all, look how quickly she dumped him (Alonso) for the chofer!  (good one, Ximena)  He tells her to shut it.  She explains she just tells him this to encourage him to speak with Camila before she gets too comfy with el admnistrador (Mariano).  Alons must take advantage now while she’s vulnerable, having been dumped by the chofer.  He contemplates this but continues to gnaw on his fingers (salud!)  She slaps his hands and tells him to stop it already!  He grabs her hand and says he hates it when Hissadodra does this to him, but hates it more when she does it.  He orders her never to do it again!  “Then pay attention,” she says, “what part of ‘Camila’s back, you’d better go see her’ don’t you understand?”  He responds to this by saying that if he doesn’t allow Hissadora to order him around, he is less likely allow her to do so.  He’ll talk to Camila when he’s good ready and not when Ximena thinks, or says so!  He’s fed up with everyone telling him what he must do!  He leaves the room and Ximena isn’t too pleased.

Cam’s Cabin
Camila wants to know how she can make him understand how much she wants this all be over with but doesn’t want anything bad to happen to either of them.  He assures her that won’t happen because they’ve already paid too high a price.  He wonders how he can make her understand that if her life hadn’t been in danger, he never would have lied to her.  She tenderly asks him to sit and wants him to understand that she doesn’t trust Alonso.  She pulls away but he holds on to her hand.  She pulls her hand away as she says, “Actually, I don’t trust anyone.”  Daniel admits he also doesn’t trust Alonso but something must have happened for Alonso to break his alliance with Hissadora.  And, according to the Dionicio Tape, he’s no longer his ally, either.  He fills her in on the tape that Aaron made when he met with Dionicio, passing himself off as Daniel.  He gets the recorder for her and she wants to know what exactly he’s after.  He explains that as he observed everyone all this time, he’s come to find out that Dionicio, Hissadora, and Alonso are not loyal to each other, so as they say, “divide y vencerás (divide and you will conquer)” Her response?  “Of course, I had forgotten how much time you had observing us.”  She decides to listen to the tape.

At the Hacienda – a visitor!
Teniente Mejía, from Monterrey, introduces himself to Hissadora, explaining he’s come looking for Ximena!  He’s found out that Ximena’s sister and mother live at this ranch.  He advises her that in Nuevo León, there is a criminal complaint against Ximena for theft and breach of confidence.  Hissadora is shocked but I swear I could see her suppressing a smile!  Good job!  Bwahaha!

Later, we find them seated in the parlor.  She tells him no one from the family is there right now.  She explains Ximena was there for a few months, visiting with her mother and sister.  But, well, she’s gone now!  And they have no way of communicating with her.  In fact, they were just discussing that amongst themselves the other day that Ximena hasn’t called anyone; no one knows where she is…..  Mejía leaves his card and asks that she contact him if she hears anything about Ximena’s whereabouts.  She claims she’s “very surprised” at the accusations against Ximena.  She promises to call him immediately if she hears anything.  He thanks her and leaves.

Cam’s Cabin
Camila has apparently heard the Dionicio Tape.  She finds this disconcerting.  She really thought Dionicio was guilty, but …. Daniel  interrupts her to say Dion is indeed guilty, he’s not innocent in all this.  Camila gets frustrated, not knowing what to think.  She calls him Andres and he corrects her, it’s Daniel.  She points out that Alonso also claims innocence.  Daniel reminds her it’s logical that they’ll all claim innocence.  Camila is fed up.  She wants to get to the bottom of all this and seek justice.  She feels that Padre Baldomero, Daniel’s wife and child deserve that.  Daniel agrees and that’s why he had decided he will turn himself in to the police once he has all the evidence.  She doesn’t understand how he can turn himself in if he’s innocent.  He agrees and says they can only try him for being a fugitive from his country; they can’t try him for murdering anyone.  It’s time he had a fair trial so no one will mistrust him.  He’s tired of the lies, of the betrayals and (speaking more softly) he wants to build a new life with her. “Mi amor.”   She stares straight into his eyes and tells him not to do it for her.  He should do it solely for himself.

He thinks perhaps they’re taking more risks because they’re being more open.  The important thing now is determining what’s best for her – whether or not to hand over the ranch to her.  He thinks they should talk to Becerra.  She reminds him how important this ranch is to her.  This Ranch was her Tío’s life and after he died, it was her life.  If it were possible to bring back the Padre and Daniel’s loved ones, obviously she would but this place has been the cause of so many tragedies.  Daniel disagrees.  It isn’t the place that has caused the problems, it’s the people who want this place.  This place belongs to her.  When it is hers again, she’ll see what she wants to do.  She tells him it’s doesn’t belong to just her.  Tío Daniel also left it to him.  She goes to the phone, saying she’ll ask Osvaldo to help them.  She calls Osvaldo and he reminds her they still need to finalize her mother’s will.  She absentmindedly pushes that aside and they make an appointment to meet at 7:30 in her cabin.  She gets off the phone and just hopes there are no more desgracias.

She heads off to bathe, but not before Daniel asks how her outing went with Mariano.  She ignores him and suggests he eat his food before it gets cold.

Date Night
Agustina complains to Dionicio about doing more together.  As she talks, he thoughtbubbles about Amanda.  He can’t believe she’s so close and wonders if she knows he’s there.  Agustina breaks into his thoughts (bursts his thoughbubble – jajaja), repeating how she feels they should travel more, do more together, and more hoochie-cootchis.  Dionicio is appalled.  “No decent woman would ask that.  That’s something the man should ask.”  She apologizes.  It’s just that when she discussed it with Padre Anselmo (ruh-roh), he suggested she speak to Dionicio about it.  He can’t believe she would even think about discussing that with a priest! What would he know – he’s never been married.  Besides, he has no business getting into their relationship.  Agustina is all apologetic, explaining she was desperate, thinking he no longer wanted her.  After all, it’s been awhile since they’ve………  Dion interrupts her by motioning to a young boy selling flowers.  He buys the whole bunch to show his wife how much he loves her.  Agustina again falls for this not-so-charming display and wonders if this means he still wants her?  That he loves her?  “Of course, woman, of course.  Now go tell the padrecito you were wrong.”  Agustina gushes how much she loves him and how happy he makes her.  He phony-smiles back at her “and  you, me.”  Je, je, je.  He can barely contain his contempt as he swills his drink.

Bath time for Camila
Camila prepares her bath.  On the other side of the door, Daniel stands with his hand on the handle but decides not to enter.  He just listens at the door.  Camila is deep in thought (hmmm, a half-naked hunkasaurus on the other side of that door) nah, she shakes her head as if to clear her thoughts.

Picnic Nooner
Yago is buttoning his shirt and Natalia is buttoning her pants and straightening up her blouse.  (Oh, no, say it ain’t so).  He can’t believe this is her first time.  He wishes she had told him.  She just assumed he would know.  Now, why would he think that?  He thought she was willing because she’d done it before.  She always planned on waiting for someone special, someone she was hoping to marry.  He calls her old-fashioned, who does that?  “Well, I do”, she says. “For me, this was an important step.  I accepted you as my first because you said you wanted to formalize our relationship, no?  Now with what’s happened, perhaps it’s time my mother and your parents are aware that we care for each other.”
Yago swiftly steps aside (metaphorically and physically, not wanting to meet her eye).  “No, it’s not the right time.  We need to wait for Pablo to settle everything with Luzma and my father.”   Natalia reminds him that Pablo already told the folks that it’s useless to oppose his relationship with Luzma.  Besides, she can’t imagine why they would oppose their relationship.  Yago insists they give his folks some more time.  She reluctantly agrees but still wants to tell her mother.  Well, uh, he puts her off and starts clearing up the picnic, saying they’ll see how things go.  Natalia doesn’t seem to know what’s happening.

Date Night
Dion starts to ask questions about Amanda and Natalia.  Agustina explains they’ve lived here for many years; Natalia was still very young when they arrived.  She doesn’t understand why a pretty woman like Amanda isn’t married although gossip has it that she’s been seen keeping company with Osvaldo.  She has to boast that Osvaldo was once attracted to herself.  But once they were married, she distanced herself from him completely.  Maybe that’s why he’s been coming around Amanda.  She doesn’t know who Natalia’s father is.  Amanda never told her and she never asked.  “But let’s talk about us!”  She whispers to him about having dinner in their room tonight!  Tee-hee.  He shoots down that thought faster than a  postmenopausal-heat-seeking missile!  The brute!  He makes some excuse about having to go into the city.  He brought her to dinner, bought her flowers, he’s making an effort.  She knew he was a busy man when she married him so she better accept it and get used to it!  Aw, our little Lady in Lavendar is sooooo hurt!

Camila’s Cabin
She’s finished with her bath and Mr. Hunkasaurus is sitting in bed, his food untouched.  He gets out of bed and again asks her to forgive him.  He begs her.  He also asks her not to seek refuge with Mariano or get involved with him.  He admits he’s jealous.  His blood boils at his inability to do anything about it!  (gotta love that hot latin blood, uy!)   Well, she’s very sorry, but she’s not going to stop seeing Mariano just because of his jealousy.  He follows her into the living room, asking her what he can do to convince her that his love for her is true.  She tells him it’s a little late for explanations.  She fell in love with a man named Andres.  A man that doesn’t even exist!  He insists “he” does exist. He holds her face as he explains he is that man, even though he has another name.  (a rose by any other name……)  His love for her is still the same.  He begs her to understand.  He had to lie to her all this time in order to protect her.  She saw what happened to Padre Baldomero and he couldn’t allow that to happen to her.   He asks her to please understand.  She continues to shake her head and he continues to hold her face in his hands as she begins to cry.  She does understand.  In her head, she understands. But her heart?  How is she to do that?  She feels betrayed.  She’s been holding back tears, but they come bursting out now and she leans into him as she sobs.  She tells him he knew she wouldn’t be able to withstand something like this.  He wonders if she’ll forgive him.  She explains she can forgive him but she can’t come back to him.  It’s over!  He doesn’t believe her.  “Well, that’s your problem” she says, “because from this point forward, I’m starting a new life.”  She leaves him, stunned and impactado!  “No, Camila.  I can’t lose you, I can’t lose you.”  And seemingly begins to weep.  (sniff)

The Hacienda
Hissdora is reading as Ximena comes downstairs. She calls to her sweetly, saying they need to talk.  Ximena very reluctantly agrees.  (be afraid Ximena, be very afraid!).  Hissadodra wants to know why Xi hadn’t told her she was running away.  She tells her about the Teniente’s visit and the charges against her.  Ximena gulps.  Hissadora now knows why Ximena suddenly appeared at La Malquerida.  She tells her she didn’t let on that she was here, that she told the Nuevo Leon’s finest that no one knows where she is.  Ximena assures her she didn’t steal anything.  Hissadora’s not stupid and could care less.  She wants to make it clear that it’s entirely up to Ximena whether or not Hissadora decides to call the Teniente and rat her out.  In exchange, she wants to Ximena to tell her why Alonso is suddenly against her but now seems to have calmed down.  Now, she’ll leave her alone to “recompose” herself after hearing this news.  Ximena is frantic.

Buenaventura
Mariano is once again pleading Pablo’s case to his parents.  Rocio forbids him (what!!) to support Pablo in this situation and he’d better not even think about going to ask for that muchachita’s hand!  Mariano actually pulls up his big boy pants and begs his mother’s forgiveness but he will not allow her to forbid him anything.  He will support Pablo and if she doesn’t like it, well he’s very sorry but his brother can count on him!  Rocio can’t believe what is going on with their sons.  In comes Illeana (hiss) and Rocio explains that Pablo is still after that girl and Mariano is standing by him.  Illeana comforts her and she’s very sorry.  She reminds them how she tried to help and although everything turned out wrong, her intentions were good.  Rocio repeats how much she would’ve liked her as a daughter-in-law and wife for her son.  (yuk)  Cayetano figures Pablo will soon discover that life with money is one thing, but life without money is quite another matter.  He’ll tire of that muchachita and come back, you’ll see.  Illeana walks away and pulls out her cell phone and we see she has a picture of Yago kissing Natalia.

Pablo’s room
Nana’s helping him pack. She admires him for giving everything up.  Pablo is fed up with his parents deciding everything for him and he just won’t permit it any longer.  Mariano comes in and Pablo explains he’ll be staying at the Hostal for awhile with the money he’d saved up for the wedding.  He’s planning on getting a job somewhere and find a simple place for him and Luzma.  Mariano will speak with Camila to see if they can find a position for him at La Malquerida.   This will also give him a chance to speak with Luzma’s mother.  Mariano would also like the newlyweds to come live with him when his house is finished.  Nana says she’ll join them.  Smiles and kisses all around.

La Malquerida Kitchen
The help is discussing the Patrones – and Luzma very cryptically says things will change around here.  She can’t say how but things will change.  She also says that the truth about everything in this house is about to come to out.  She leaves them (Piedad, Rodolfo, and  Dorotea) wondering what she knows.

Buenaventura
Pablo and Mariano are carrying his bags out with Illeana chasing after them.  She tells Pablo not to leave like this.  His parents will never forgive him.  Mariano suggests she butt out.  As Mariano is putting the bags in the truck, up walk Cayetano and Rocio.  She’s not too happy to hear Pablo is leaving and can’t believe he’d give up everything for “that woman”.   Pablo stands up to them and says he will no longer allow them to tell him what to do.  If anyone is going to ruin his life, it may as well be him and not them.  Rocio asks Cayetano not to let him leave.  Cayetano points out that he’s not throwing him out.  Pablo is leaving of his own accord.  Cayetano is not changing his mind.  Pablo says he isn’t either.  If they’re not willing to accept his future wife, this is no longer his home and he’s not about to beg them to accept his decisions.  Rocio turns to Mariano to intercede.  Pablo is young and he needs their help.  “That’s the problem,” says Mariano.  “He’s shown himself to be a man but you (mom & dad) refuse to see that.”  Rocio begs him again not to do this.  Pablo kisses her goodbye.  Cayetano tells her to let him go, saying “He’ll be back, begging for our forgiveness.”  Mariano suggests they leave.  Nana comes out to give Pablo some money, as a loan.  He refuses it.  She gives him her blessing.  Pablo gets in the car and Mom cries after him.

La Malquerida
Agustina walks by Hissadora with her bouquet of flowers, now in a vase.  She boasts how her husband took her out and bought her these flowers.  Hissadora, ever the killjoy, says she’s never really liked yellow roses.  First, the problem with roses are the thorns.  It’s a treacherous (traicionera) flower.  Besides that, the yellow rose, well……it’s said that as a gift, yellow roses signify hatred.  Agustina refutes this, saying that all roses signify love, happiness, etc.  Why would someone give flowers to someone they hate?  “Well, that’s what they say” says Hissie, “Dionicio should be told, maybe he doesn’t know that.”  Agustina announces they won’t be able to tell him tonight because he’s working.  “Aw, Dionicio, always working,” says Hissiadora, “and then he doles out his love drop by drop.”  Agustina gets serious now, saying Dionicio is a very responsible man.  After taking time off to take her out to dinner, it’s only logical he would make up his time working.  Hissadora eggs her on, saying that if she’s satisfied with that, then that should be sufficient.  Agustina says it is, so there.

Camila’s Cabin any yet more truths
Osvaldo comes to meet with Camila and Daniel.  He’s happy the truth’s finally come out.  Funny, Dan and Cam don’t look too happy.  Camila understandably complains she shouldn’t have been left in the dark.  Osvaldo implores her to understand the need for secrecy.  She’s still angry.  She explains they’ve asked him here to help decide how to proceed.  He brings up the issue of her and her mother’s will.  Camila doesn’t want to discuss that now.  Daniel explains he’d like to pass ownership of ranch over to Camila but he fears she may suffer reprisal from “them”.  Osvaldo asks him to reconsider and give him time to figure out how ownership can change hands without putting Camila and Agustina at risk.  Daniel also tells him that Camila now knows about Dionicio.  Osvaldo feels he’s the worst of all of them.  Could be, but she already knows what Alonso and Hissadora did but there’s nothing that incriminates Dionicio.  Osvaldo assures her Dionicio only married Agustina to use her as a means to get into La Malquerida.  He’s not who he says he is.  “Well then, who is he?” she asks.  She’s clearly losing her cool.  She’s fed up with everyone giving her information bit by bit.   Daniel explains Osvaldo can’t tell her without betraying a secret.  “Another one?” she exclaims.  Daniel explains he’s under no obligation to keep that secret.  I can almost feel Camila’s blood boiling as Daniel says it’s time they told her the truth and stop keeping things from her.  Yeesh – how much more can she take?  Daniel then tells her that Dion, as Hector Gutierrez, is Amanda’s ex and Natalia’s father.

Ok gang, I hope I kept all the names straight this time! So much going on in this episode!

Fabulous recap Paquita! There was a lot going on this episode, and you got it all.

I know it's not the most groundbreaking theory, but I had a hearty laugh when Camila voiced out loud my head-heart confusion theory. How well I know our girl! :) Despite what she says, I think she's getting closer to breaking down and getting back together with Dan. The first day after the reveal she wouldn't even let him touch her. Last episode she nearly kissed him and let him caress her arm. And last night she reached out and took his hands to seat him, she let him hold her hand for a few seconds, and finally she let her anger wall down for a bit and collapsed into his arms in tears. Of course, she also said she can't/won't get back together with him, but like Dan, I didn't believe her.

I'm getting very fearful for Amanda. Dio doesn't look inclined to let her escape a second time.

Natalia was channeling Gussy last night. Neither one of them can see the writing on the wall with their men. That said, Yago was also an idiot-- after all this time wooing Nat, he didn't realize that she just might be an old fashioned virgin? The girl was feeling guilty about dating him and not telling her mother. What made him think she was "experienced?" At least he realized it when they did the deed, which most galan's in tns tend not to know until the girl spells it out for them.

I don’t' like Isa having a way to blackmail Xi into being her spy. Keep strong Al! Don't tell anyone anything (especially not Xi).

Luzma was sounding a lot like Cami last night. Poor Irene. I felt her pain. She should go cry in Vivi's shoulder. She can relate.

Yay Pablo! Although he's young, he's shown that he's the most "manly" Alberran man in that household. It's time for Bratgirl to move on, and hopefully OUT!

Paquitadelbarrio,

What a great recap! I love your title. The hits just keep on coming to poor Camila -- just when she thinks she's got it all, more complex tales of intrigue.

I thought last night, when she heard about Amanda's relationship to Dio, that it really dawned on her how evil the bad guys are and that the motives of the good guys in keeping secrets from her were reasonable. I also liked what she said about Daniel proving his innocence and exposing the bad guys for Padre B. and Daniel's wife and child . It was touching and another step in the reconciliation. But, events could intervene. We know that our lovebirds are going to be separated over something! TN law, as someone here has put it so well.

Poor Natalia. So predictable and icky for her. I hope that there is no pregnancy to cope with.

I don't have a sense at all of where we are going now. Lots of episodes left, lots of interrelationships and conflicts in play.

BTW, the young Dio looked just like what you would imagine him to look like. Actually not much like the real young Cesar -- remember him in the EP Corazon Salvaje? Young, thin and very handsome.

Leticia Calderon really has hit her stride as a villain. She's even prettier as a mature woman than she was as an ingenue. Rotten though they are, our troop of villains are performing their acting duties very well.

Good work, Paquita. I was waiting to comment after Rocio's ridiculousness.

Mariano is supposed to be what... 40? Where does she get off telling him she forbids him to help Pablo? How could Cayetano endure being married to her all this time? The only good thing she did in this episode is telling us that Don Daniel's wife wasn't happy being married to him.

Which opens the question as to why, unless the "why" was serial adultery.

I am guessing that the woman in the photo with Don Daniel was probably Agatha. She was the love of his life and it would make sense that he would keep a photo of her in a secret place. Makes me wonder what else is in that box.

So the law is finally catching up to Ximeana. She's no loss to anyone, including and especially her own family. I'm surprised Hissadora didn't take the opportunity to rid herself of her, but I also see her getting a sadistic kick out of this.

The 1993 CS was the first time I ever saw Cesar Evora and I was very impressed with him. He's a perfect opera villain with that basso profundo and sophisticated manner.

Off Topic:

While looking up more info on the tn "Quien Eres Tu?" that will star Laura Carmine (Ximena) and Julian Gil, I found this article in English about the upcoming changes to TeleFutura. Starting January, when "Quien Eres Tu?" starts, TeleFutura will become UniMas. It represents not just a change in name, but a change in programming. Seems that Univision will air more original/daring programming and novelas and more sports on its UniMas channel. The tns on UniMas will not just be from Televisa (like they are on Univision), but also from RTI (Colombia) and others. Even though the tn on which "Quien?" is based in an old Televisa hit, "La Usupadora", this version is being done by RTI and being filmed in Colombia. The story seems to have also been changed to included more mystery and danger for the herione/antogonist. I think I'll set my dvr in January to check it out. Not sure if the changes to the network will mean any changes to local channels across the country. Here is the article on UniMas: http://rbr.com/telefutura-becoming-unimas/

Paquita, what a marvellous recap! Normally, I'd be tearing my hair out over all the dialogue you helped me see that I missed, but instead you had me thoroughly delighted with your humorous remarks, such as "(well, it’s easy to stand up to someone who is tied to a bed and has his tongue cut out, just sayin’),"bursts his thoughbubble,"Mr. Hunkasaurus," and "He shoots down that thought faster than a postmenopausal-heat-seeking missile!"

The business about the unsigned wills came up more than once last night, and you noted that Camila "absentmindedly pushes that aside." I gather you think that this will prove to be important, and I agree. Is the anvil about to fall on Gullible Gussy? Or will the fact that she hasn't yet signed her new will (which leaves a lot to Dion, IIRC) prove to be what is important? Or will she in fact sign it and then--WHAM!? Preguntas y más preguntas.

Speaking of Gullible Gussy, I really liked our Vivi's describing Natalia as "channeling Gussy last night." I was somewhat surprised and disappointed at Natalia's naivete, not only before she and Yago did the deed but also afterwards. Thinking back, I probably shouldn't have been, but.... Like Traveling Lady, I hope (in spite of all the TN laws) that Natalia doesn't wind up pregnant.

I was also somewhat surprised at Luzma's harsh response to Irene. Perhaps Luzma is channeling Camila? Again, I think our Vivi was right on target when she said that Irene "should go cry on Vivi's shoulder. She can relate." Re both Camila and Luzma, I want to shout "¡Basta ya!"

UA, I think you may be right about the woman in the photo with Don Dan being Agatha. It would make good sense for him to have kept such a photo. I doubt that any other woman captured his heart as she did.

So now Hissadora has leverage to recruit Ximena to Team Hissy. What fun! I'm running out of scorecards.

One question: what did Daniel say to Camila at the very end of the avances? Did he say he had decided to leave? I tried several times to catch the verb he used, but I failed.

But didn't we already see a pic of Don Daniel with Agatha? It was in Agatha's things that Dan and Miriam went through. It does not look like the same woman.

Juanita- In the previews Dan did say that he was going, and Cami didn't look happy about it. It's funny, because although they have "broken up", they have been forced to spend almost every moment together in that cabin. Parhaps him actually leaving will show Cami that she misses him too much to stay broken up? Let's hope!

Juanita- I like your nicknames-- Gullible Gussy and Naive Natalia. Boy, are they ever!

Thanks very much, Vivi, for confirming what I thought I heard Dan say in the avances. His leaving could add several new wrinkles to this already complex plot. If he leaves, does he simply mean he'll move in with Vivi and Rafael? Stay at Amanda's hostel? Leave town? I can imagine interesting plot developments coming from any of these possibilities. For example, if he goes to Vivi's, Bruno will see him. Then again, if he goes to Vivi's, he may be able to discover and disable Bruno's bugs. OTOH, if he goes to Amanda's hostel, he could possibly save her from whatever Dionisio has in mind. Or not. And if he leaves town...oh, never mind. I'll just wait impatiently to see what the writers have come up with.

Again, Vivi, many thanks.

Very disappointed in Natalia. Yuck! With Yago? When Rodolfo is walking around in those tight pants and big hat? Now she wants to be pinned and he is too big of a wimp to tell his mama that he's found a darling gal.

So NOW Dio is thinking about Natalia. Whenever he'd heard her name before, his baby "Natalia" never even sprang to his mind. It was too easy for him to leave Amanda and Natalia in the past. Now what?

Vivi - please don't "no, never mind" your speculations! We love them!

Here's one to ponder: Do you think Luzma could hand over her baby to a sweet gal who had lost her baby and now can't have anymore?

RlaO- Do you think he's too afraid to confront his mom, or do you think Yago just doesn't want a girlfriend and just wants to play the field?

I am still betting the picture is Senora Snob. To have made such a deal of Isadora seeing it, I assume means that it has future significance. I don't see an image of Agatha causing an impact on the story line, unless Daniel looks a lot like his mother. On the other hand, given that she was getting flirty with Mr. Senora Snob, if Isadora found out it was his wife, she could really drop a bombshell that she might perceive as helping her to "never be poor again," and open the story line for revealing Pablo's parentage, especially since he is leaving his current purse strings behind.

Cindy

PS: Thanks for the recap. Brightened an AM when I woke up an hour early and could not get back to sleep.

I now remember that the photo in Agatha's things is not of the same woman.

What were the circumstances surrounding the dalliance of Don Daniel and Rocio? As I typed this it occurred to me that they must have been similar, since Cayetano believes Pablo to be his own son. Perhaps the photos are Don Daniel's idea of a trophy of each woman.

This would make sense if Hissadora could figure out that it's Rocio in the photo. She could use it as blackmail her... or bring it to Cayetano's attention somehow so she can get her silver claws into him.

Mariano and Yago will have to protect Dad from her.

Urban- This is what I remember from one of the talks Rocio had with Nana Refugio. Rocio said that she and Cayetano were going through a crisis in their marriage at the time and didn't know if they would keep going in the marriage. (Perhaps he even left the ranch for a time? That would have allowed her the freedom and time to get involved with Don Daniel.) But then she and Cayetano worked things out. The timing between her affair and her reconciliation with her husband is close enough for Cayetano not suspect Pablo isn't his, but far enough apart for Rocio to know Pablo is Don Daniel's. The question is, did she know she was already pregnant when she reconciled with Cayetano? Hmmm....

I love Nana Refugio! She's such a kind lady. But she also tells it like it is, to everyone.

RlaO- Are you thinking Vivi could adopt Luzma's baby? Good thinking. But would that be too close to Luzma? It might be painful for Luzma to see Vivi somewhat regularly and know that was her child. Or maybe, Luzma would feel good to know her child was with such a loving/awesome mom.

Yes, Vivi, that's what I'm thinking. It will not be too close to Luzma as I am hoping Vivi and Rafa will get married and given how she's a photographer and he a writer and free to live wherever, they will move back to the peaceful valley with Aaron.

Cindy - I think you are right that the woman in the picture is Senora Snob. Didn't Isadora wonder aloud if perhaps there is another hijo somewhere?

Okay...I am mad at Comcast again. I just settled in on my stair stepper to watch Monday's and Tuesday's episodes and they hadn't been recorded. HORNETS EYES! It showed that NONE of my AB's were going to be recorded this week. Did anyone else have that happen? So, I reset the recordings and got down on my knees and thanked the day I found CarayCaray and these recaps.

Vivi - about Yago: I don't think he wants a gf. We've had him pegged as a player all along, but even more he seems terrified that someone will see them together. He doesn't even act friendly to her in the presence of his dad. Pablo is the only son with a backbone at the moment.

Dare we say Natalia went off the physical cliff with Yago?

Well, Mariano already warned Yago to stay the heck away from Nat, and I don't think Mama and Daddy would be too happy about him boinking the "help" either. Plus, I think Yago is every bit a snob as his parents are and doesn't want an ordinary middle class girl like Nat as his official "novia." I think he just wants to have fun with her, and others, and is waiting for that someone special (born with a silver spoon) to present to mom and dad as the future Mrs. Yago. But I do think he likes Nat and perhaps even care for her. He did look like he felt REALLY guilty after he realized that Nat was a virgin and he was her first. Of course, his reaction to his guilty feelings was to act like a total a** to her. Which is pretty typical of guys, especially young ones.

Considering the age difference between Mariano, Yago, and Pablo, I am guessing that Mariano was away at school during the affair. Yago would have to have been very young (as in early school years) for this affair to have gone undetected by anyone other than Refugio.

Rocio is just as stupid about Ileana as Augustina is about Dionisio. Oy vey.

Thanks for the recap Paquita! There was a lot going on and you covered it all.

I felt slimed for Naive Natalia as she (like Gussy) can't see the signs of a bad bf. Yago probably does care for her but he's too busy being a player/playa. It seems inevitable that she will end of preggers but I hope not.

Rocio's stupidity is really going to bite her in the behind; Mariano is looking to arrange for Pablo to work at Cam's ranch! Perhaps he'll be the one to see the photo Isa now has and identify his mom. And we know our Isa will probably remember how Pablo gave Cam blood. This is gonna be good.

I was disappointed with the Luzma/Irene interaction. As our Vivi noted, Luzma was sounding a lot like Cam and Irene should hang out w/Vivi.

Thanks for the off-topic info Vivi.

Yes, Luzma did sound like Camila, and hopefully she'll tell Camila the story of her relationship being on the rocks with Irene, and as Camila gives advise to Luzma she'll see herself and Vivi's relationship and will practice what she preaches and understand that Vivi was just looking out for her, as Irene was to Luzma, and forgive her.

Thanks Paquita for the excellent recap. A few comments before reading everyone else’s:

Too funny: “Agustina breaks into his thoughts (bursts his thoughbubble – jajaja)”

Luz/Irene friendship mirroring Cam/Vivi’s.

Stupid Ximena. Can’t believe she made the mistake of grabbing his hand when he was biting his nails. I actually gasped a little. Knew that wasn’t going to go over well.

Yellow roses are beautiful, but I don’t think they’re the right color for what sentiment Dio is trying to (falsely) convey. I see they mean hate. Now that is not a false sentiment.

Iago thought Natalia was “experienced”. And how did he come to THAT conclusion. Seriously, this guy is a sleaze. Her whole demeanor and actions towards him were not those of an experienced girl/woman. And since he’s experienced he should have known that. Please tell me she’s not going to get pregnant!

When I was watching this, I wondered why the hell Pablo was listening to Ileana. THIS IS NONE OF HER BUSINESS. “Mariano suggests she butt out.” Thank you Mariano!!!!!! Re: whiny Rocio: “Pablo is young and he needs their help. “That’s the problem,” says Mariano. “He’s shown himself to be a man but you (mom & dad) refuse to see that.” Double thank you!!!

I have to say I’m getting a little irritated with Cam not forgiving or understanding why things were kept from her. Then I have to remind myself that for us it’s been a week or more since this all hit the fan for her and for her it’s only been a couple of days.

Nanette

Camila is an intelligent woman who is accustomed to taking care of herself. Then she marries slimy Alonssso who does an about face on their wedding night after experiencing impotence and tries to control her. On a gut level she is taking the secrecy as an insult to her intelligence and independence. She doesn't want to be classified with her dependent, foolish mother.

A long talk with Becerra is called for, particularly after this next disclosure.

Re: the avances. Will Natalia be angry at Amanda for keeping Dio a secret from her? With that and Dio’s charm, I’m afraid Natalia will be in big trouble.

Juanita: “The business about the unsigned wills came up more than once last night, and you noted that Camila "absentmindedly pushes that aside." I gather you think that this will prove to be important, and I agree. Is the anvil about to fall on Gullible Gussy? Or will the fact that she hasn't yet signed her new will (which leaves a lot to Dion, IIRC) prove to be what is important? Or will she in fact sign it and then--WHAM!? Preguntas y más preguntas.” --I noticed that, too. A lot of different angles to this plot point. Hope the writers do something intriguing and unexpected.

Vivi: “I love Nana Refugio! She's such a kind lady. But she also tells it like it is, to everyone.” --I’ve found that true in all the TNs I’ve seen so far. I love the Nana character.

I love the idea of Vivi adopting Luz’s baby, but agree that it would only work if she and Rafael leave the area.

Yeah, the will thing is interesting. Cami isn't worried about signing hers because she already divorced Al and he can't get his hands on anything of hers anymore. Whether or not she signs her will, it still goes to her mom and sister, as she wished.

Same with Gussy. She changed her will in favor of Dio. But if she dies before signing it, doesn't it all go to him anyway?

If Gussy, Cami and Xi died in a tragic accident all together, would everything they have go to Dio?

Cami becomes a huge target again if Dan cedes the ranch over to her. They do have to plan this very carefully.

All I can say is "Watch out, Yago!" Once Daddy Don Dio finds out that you dallied with his daughter, you might find a horse's head in your bed.

I too am getting tired of Camilla screeching about being lied to. I am not a TN regular (I only have 2 previous experiences, Triunfo del Amor and Alborado. Triunfo almost put me entirely off modern TNS. This one is changing that thought.), so I am not used to the common plots, but you kind of want to reach into the TV and slap some of her sense back into her.

Cindy

Actually, since Dionisio married her under a false name, their marriage isn't legal so he gets nothing.

Becerra made out those wills before the elopement. If something were to happen to Augustina and the will states that everything of hers goes to Camila and Ximeana, Dionisio might try to challenge it. It may or may not state anything about the possibility of her marrying again.

Let's suppose that is the case. She might turn up wanting to change it to leave her estate to Dionisio. That would force Becerra to either tell her the truth or to delay the process as long as he could until she could see the truth. Which could be until the day after the end of the series.

Paquita - Thanks. Appreciate all the dialogue.

Camila - You know you want to join the Scoobies. Girl, just give in. And I notice you won’t even throw a blanket on Daniel to cover up those pecs and shoulders. He's ailing and he's gotta be cold, but you want to enjoy the view.

Natalia seemed like such a bright girl. She was always onto Alonso's crap, and she and her mom were so close. Yago must have some moves to get her to go all the way, in an open park, without even getting a commitment out of him first. Surely she can see that postcoitus he's not exactly intoxicated by her any more. I think Yago just enjoys the game. I hope Mariano finds out.

Luzma dumping Irene hurts. Why dump Irene and not Pablo, since both meddled in her business? Irene's been a selfless friend. At the start, Irene seemed to have a crush on the boy (Toledo?) that tried to fight Pablo for Luzma, but backed of cause he wants Luzma.

Vivi adopting the baby would be great for the baby. I can’t help but think of sordido when I think of the baby, so Vivi would have to move far, far, far, far away.

Niecie- The difference is that Luzma didn't tell Pablo about the rape. She told Irene about the rape and asked HER not to tell. Irene betrayed her trust by telling Pablo and Tolentino, who then made it their mission to find out who it was and to get the bastard.

Luzma is being way too harsh with Irene. But I remember PSAs when I was a kid about this sort of thing. The message was that even if your friend ends up being mad at you because you revealed X (sexual abuse, eating disorder, drug use, etc.) to an adult, it was still your duty to tell. It is better to get your friend out of danger, and have them be mad at you or even end the friendship, than it is to see real harm (continue to) happen to them. It's a hard lesson, but you have to decide what's more important.

Irene has to learn that it's more important that Luzma is getting help and is on her way to recovering, than it is to be her bff right now. Just like Luzma has to learn that it's because Irene is such a good/true friend that she did what she did.

I was still kinda hoping for a miscarriage for Luzma. I know that's bad, but given the circumstances... But I like the idea of Vivi and Rafa taking int he baby. Nice to see adoption considered a good option instead of ignored as it often seems to be.

You'd think with all these threats to Camila, she'd take care of that will biz right away. Is this ranch historic, like in LQNPA? Get it into a trust or something, announce to everyone still mooching off the ranch, and then no one gets hurt. But all this mention of Augustina's will doesn't bode well for her.

I was hoping to keep the novelas down to a max of 2, but that new one that Viv mentioned in Jan. with Julian Gil and our Ximena sounds pretty good. Dang.

Kelly

Don't you love how they're mirroring the two friendships? I hope Luz does go to her for advice and as Cam's hearing the same situation from a third party, she realizes what she must do: Forgive Dan and join the Scoobies!

Thanks Paquita, I really enjoyed your great recap of this action packed episode. I admire and envy your understanding of all the details of the multi- sub plots.

I hadn’t thought of Vivi as a possible adoptive parent for Luzma’s baby. That’s a very good possibility second only to my thought that Luzma will end up keeping her baby. Not saying that that is what I'd do but the tn characters are always so influenced by the church's point of view. Anyway, I am hoping that Camila is not a potential in padre’s mind. I admit, I selfishly want Cami and Dan to have their own children from scratch, as the saying goes.

On the one hand, I can’t really blame Mariano for persuing Camila because he’s doing no more than any red blooded man attacted to a beautiful, available woman would do.
On the other hand, I’m thinking of the “baggage” in the form of his dysfunctional family that he would add to her already dysfunctional life with Gussie, Xi, & Dio. Add to that the fact that she's
just getting out of a bad marriage with a mother in law from hell, her new mother in law would also be from hell. Sure, I know that Cami and Dan are going to get together in the end, but I’m sure that we will be teased and taunted during the interval relationship that's brewing between Mariano, Ana, Muneca and Cami.

Oh, I forgot to add that I was happy that Luzma let Irene know just how she felt by her betrayal of confidence. However, now that she's made the impact perhaps she'll free herself to move towards forgiveness.

I

I see I'm late to the party. Thanks Paquita for the usual great recap.

I am really mad at Luzma for being mad at Irene. If my daughter were in Irene's position, I would hope that she would speak up too if her friend were in this situation. Someone needs to ask Luzma if Irene were raped, would she tell someone like Irene did? I bet the answer would be yes.

I would not want to see Viv raise the baby. I think for the baby's sake, it needs to be with a family far far away who do not know the origins of it's conception.

Amanda better tell Natalia right away about her dear daddy if Dion comes visiting. And speaking of Natalia, she's just a very naive small town girl who probably hasn't had a boyfriend before. Yago is using her for fun without realizing her inexperience. That's my guess.

So what other secrets does Camila need to know about? I was trying to remember and I was coming up blank.

Foxy, I strongly hope that Luzma does NOT wind up keeping the baby. It would continually remind her of what her slimeball uncle did to her. I don't think that's a promising312 situation for either her or the baby.

Hmmm...how did part of the proof that I'm not a robot (312) wind up next to "promising" in my last message? Perhaps I AM a robot!

I agree, Daisy. If that baby is born it needs to be far away from anyone who knows the truth of its origins. There is no way that anyone would forget this if it's adopted by anyone in this area.

Camila deserves better than to have Rocio for a suegra.

I have't finished reading all of the comments but here is an issue that I think maybe has gone unnoticed. Cam has not signed her new will either and Hissie still has the fake one. It may not matter that she divorced Alon cause Hissie probably covered that in the fake will. I think Cam is the most vulnerable one here cause the fake will leaves everything to Alon. So Alon is at risk from Hissie too!

Thanks PdelB! I really like your recap.
Favs ..
(well, it’s easy to stand up to someone who is tied to a bed and has his tongue cut out, just sayin’)

Camila is deep in thought (hmmm, a half-naked hunkasaurus on the other side of that door) nah, - we in viewerville yell at the TV for Camila to OPEN THE DOOR OR I WILL!

Thumbs down on Luzma and Irena.

Thumbs down on Yago el mujeriego! This might be one case where Dio-dear-long-last-Dad could intervene on Nat's behalf to set Yago straight on Yago's not-so-nice-Nat-negation! Just a "friendly" reminder not to play with her sentiments, wink wink!

I think the writers brought up the will talk to close put this plot dialogue I don't think there is a great importance whether Augustina or Camila sign it. Remember Augustina only has a small pension and Camila has the house in town which are not that great a fortune. As long as Daniel has possession to LMQ nothing is going to happen to Camila as stated yesterday which is why Dio is trying to negotiate with DAaron

LoriLoo: I think they could probably prove that the fake will is a fake pretty easily. These wills and their consequences are confusing.

Becerra knows the will is fake. Nothing can happen with it. All the fake will did was tell Dion that Isa is working behind his back.

Cathyx- may I blame you for my 2 pieces of cake last night and then another piece for breakfast this morning? Seems you were egging me on given the ice cream was slow churned and only have the fat.

I'll take the blame for the icecream, but not the cake. It wasn't slow churned was it? Did you have a 3rd glass of wine like I recommended too?

No, seems I know my wine limit, but not my cake and ice cream limit. I did remember my funny comment and I said it today but nobody laughed. Lol. Guess it wasn't that funny after all.

Rosemary, I had a dream once about some friends of mine. Something funny happened and I was laughing so hard in my dream that I literally woke up. My laughing woke me up. When I recalled what happened the next morning and about what happened that was so funny that I woke up from the dream, I realized that it wasn't that funny. At least not so funny that I would have laughed that hard.

Lol I love those dreams! I love that your laughing woke you up!

i do always appreciate that you do make episode recaps in english since i do not speak spanish.i am mixed mexican on father's side.it was only his father who spoke spanish in the family.I grew up in Asia only speaking Filipino and English languages.

Cathyx, Camila still needs to know that Isa tried to kill her with a bull.

Thanks netgirl. She knows about the fake will and the fake death certificate, I believe.

Welcome Dell Torres. This is a great site.

Paquita, Gracias por su recap supremo. I am now in Oaxaca again for two months so will catch up as I can but I am grateful and indebted to keeping up with the CarayCaray recaps. I don't know how to access the new RSS feed system so I cannot access some episodes past the date they appear on the main page. If someone can help me with what I can access from Mexico for the next two months I would be most appreciative.

I will be mounting my photography show in Oaxaca next week at La Biznaga Restaurant on Garcia Vigil. I am hoping Jarocha and some other old friends can witness this event, my first international photo exhibit...

I miss all of you CarayCaray fans and will return probably to recapping in February 2013 after I return from Mexico Lindo.

Besos y abrazos a todos, CherylNewMex

Congrats on your show in Mexico Cheryl! How exciting. Looking forward to having you back with us.
