Por ella soy Eva #105 12/17/12
Helena apologizes to Eva for doubting her... Eva: forget about it, our friendship is bulletproof!
Later, at Helena's place, Helena and Eva are talking about Lalo's granddad... and... speaking of second chances, says Eva, don't you think Juan Carlos deserves another one of those? Helena gets a little misty. She mentions that she had put the Juan thing behind her and she thought it would be better to be with a steady man who loved her. (but she doesn't say that she loves Pluti). Speaking of the Devil, here he is at the door! Eva scowls as they smooch.
Marcela's clever daughter wonders why she continues to support the awful Fernie, despite his terrible behavior.
Eduardo's brother (I think) calls Helena's mom to assure her that Eduardo was depressed without her, and that they make a great pair (is he stupid? The only thing that Eduardo makes a good pair with is a kick in the pants!).
Oooh, Juan's mom has some biting words for her husband - now she realizes that he was trying to hold her back, to keep her down because she was too much woman for him. He is of the common people, the simple people with simple lives who just want to keep everyone down to their vulgar level!
Oh, no. Helena's mom has prepared a romantic evening for Eduardo. She lights candles pours some wine, lets her hair down, and arranges her robe seductively. I doubt this will end well. And it doesn't. He takes a half-sip of wine, gets up, and mocks her for looking ridiculous and acting silly. He just thought they were going back to normal. Gross. She cries herself to sleep.
Aaaah, Helena confronts pluto about that "implication" business. He makes an excuse too lame to write down. Then he goes out and returns the text to Mendoza, his mysterious man.
Rebeca gets Pluti's email by shaking her maracas... she groans, you're just as boring in your emails as you are in bed... But she finds something! As Pluto is writing to Mendoza about a plan to meet in Ixtapa, Rebe is noticing a lot of emails about the same guy. Interesting!
Helena is awake late trying to decide whether to call Juan, when her mom walks in (hair back up), finally trying to escape from Eduardo.
In fact, the same bastard is this very moment reading the note she left. She had been so excited to meet the man she loved for thirty years, but the jerk met her with the same old insults. She can no longer keep alive the last drop of their love. He scowls some more.

Speaking of tired old, I could happily kill the bastardo Eduardo. Silvia was so happy and looked pretty good with her flowers, wine, and candles. His comments not only killed the mood, they were cruel. I was so pleased she wrote that note. Maybe Fernando could move over there for a while.
La Paloma
Poor Silvia. She had such hopes and dreams for her and Bastardo. So glad she finally left him for good. I hope she didn't lose that job she loved so much.
Marcela too telling off Fern but has she really forgiven him? Loved how Jennifer told her that she is really the boss at home and not Fern.
Santiago too is sick of Angie always going out and not staying home with him. They are supposed to be newlyweds, I really think that marriage is over. Now if only Lucia would see that Renato is so not into her. I think Santi and Lucia would make the perfect couple.
But nice to see Jennifer finally set her mother straight and tell her that Marcella's attitude towards the Fer situation was the most disappointing. She expects dad to be stupid but she's had it with mom's non-reaction. Good for you Jen.

While it was painful to,watch Sylvia get hurt again, I'm so glad she had the strength to leave him and go to Helena's,place. Now she needs to stay for good!!
Ezra, thanks foe the quick turnaround on this recap. I really enjoyed it. Gertie

I was also VERY happy to see Eugenia tell Modesto off in such elegant fashion; see Silvia finally cut the cord with Bastardo; and see Jennifer speak such wise words to her mom. Enough coddling of these men. It's time for them to hear the harsh truth, and time for the women to woman up and tell it to them, instead of perpetuatiing this madness.
Now, I would like to see Lucia get her brain back, Helena realize that Pluti is a liar, and for Jennifer realize that her boyfriend is a sleaze.
Show of hands? How many people think Helena bought Pluto's excuse about the "implicate" phone call? Did she A. totally believe? B. Totally disbelieve? C. Decide that MAYBE it was the truth?
I know most of you don't want to hear this, but I think Ed is heading for redemption, though probably on his deathbed. While Sylvia was gone, he wouldn't budge because he was sure she'd be back because she needed him and it's where she belonged. When she came back, when he hadn't moved an inch, it confirmed to him that he could have her back without changing. Now her letter made it undeniably clear that she doesn't need him and she's left for good. If he wants her back, he can't avoid the fact that he'll have to cross the entire distance between them; now SHE won't budge an inch. I think that he'll conclude that he needs her more than he needs his pride, and he'll change. But as I said, probably on his deathbed.
Bill, good list - the women who put it to their man in this cap. Eugenia, Marcela, and Sylvia. I guess you could say Angie did too.
Marcela says Fernando has to do housework, and he thinks it'll be a snap. After all, if a woman can do it... Hijinks will ensue.
Eva/Juan asked Helena, "Do you think you'll ever give Juan a second chance?" At the very moment Helena was trying to decide how to answer that, her mother came through the door.
Sylvia was alway's Juan's worst detractor - Her refrain was, "Rotten men stay rotten," and she constantly undermined Hele's feelings for Juan. Then Sylvia that Ed could change, and Hele started to believe that Juan could change too. Now Sylvia is absolutely convinced that Ed will never change, so I suspect that she will go back to attacking Juan, and Helena will listen.
As for the shenanigans at the office of exploded Good N Plenty (great image, Julie!), Rebecca has made some real progress. And now that she has picked up that thread, I'm sure she's going to follow it. More hijinks will ensue.
Eduardo, Modesto, Pluto, and Fern treat their women with different kinds of disrespect. Even when their women protest they maintain an aire of superiority. These women are just beginning to stand up for themselves. The only older man who is consistently put in his place is Adriano, and that only happens because Eva is really another man and simply won't be belittled or dominated. I think these men will either change or break.

Thanks for the recap.
Vivi....gosh yes, you are right about Adri's and Mimi's pics on the walls. They are both obviously very good at what they do. But I think Adri is ready to retire, travel the world and pass the torch to someone. I just wish it wasn't PLuty.
Sue in Florida is right on target about how Eva commands Adri because Eva is really a man. Now there is some food for thought for all of us ladies! Gertie
