Amorcito Corazón Discussion #174-178 Dec. 17-21
In case you did not read the earlier comments, for some reason Univision cut part of Friday’s episode (that I’m betting no one saw b/c of the tragic events in CT) and part of Monday’s episode and gave us one episode. I hope this isn’t what they will do in the future to finish off this TN b/c Uni has pulled this before. FYI, this recap isn’t in chronological order.
Most of the first ten minutes is Doris begging forgiveness from Fer and Isa. Neither forgive her (surprise, NOT) and Lucia won’t see her at all. But Isa does learn that EWM knew about the false pregnancy and she does tell this to Fer and Lucia. But our brain trust thinks EWM is too fragile and won’t do that. His stupidity knows no limits.
EWM pretends to be crazy and stupid while gathering info for what will probably be her final reign of terror concerning Fer and all those he loves. In another deleted scene we learn that Fer goes to see Lucia and Isa at a nearby café but tells EWM he is in a meeting. The next HORRIBLE SCENE shows EWM strangling Suzy to find out where Fer is. I hate this plot! After almost killing Suzy and stalking Fer, EWM goes to a bar so Fer is doesn’t know where she is. Later she looks like she’s about to add adulteress to her list of crimes. The second most ridiculous scene of the day - Fer looking for EWM at her mother’s, Horny ragging on him b/c and he lost her daughter. Did I mention how much I hate this plot?
Two scenes w/F5 got edited out. The first was his bid to terminate his partnership w/Mr. C. The judge wants to hear both sides of the story. The other scene was showing how F5 would continue to act like a two year old around Mr. C. at work. They both go to the jail per Fer to help Doris. Deleted scene - poor Poncho hires a lawyer to defend Doris too and the lawyer starts to interrogate Doris. Since this was deleted and F5 and Mr. C. show up for Doris, perhaps this third lawyer will go away.
Barf continues her lying ways but a potential interesting plot point is that the guy Horny hired, Andres, to ruin the casa hogars rep was taking pictures. This time he got Barf and Juancho. How much you want to bet next he’ll get Barf and Knuckles? This plot line is the most disappointing to me b/c Marisol and Juancho have been separated almost this entire TN; this is longer than dunderheads Isa and Fer and that’s completely unfair.
Moncho helps Willy go looking for rings. After getting the ring, Moncho comes home late to peaks in on Adelita. His out-of-control mother misinterprets the whole thing and acts like he was trying to attack Adelita, who now thinks she is in love w/a perv. Wow, writers this is a really bad turn of events.
Beba mistakenly tells the Maris about Doris and Aldo causing Mari Fer to faint. Later they (the Maris, Beba, Isa, and Lucia) go to visit Aldo. The girls call Poncho, tell him of their visit and forgive Doris. Early at the casa hogar, Marisol confronts Barf for being a liar.
Jaibo has awakened from his coma and guess what? When Gabino questions him, he has no memory.
Horny learns from Jorrible about Doris; he laughed when his mother told him what happened, jerk. Horny now plans to plant the story that the casa hogar traffics infants. I hope the Maris realize their abuela is a poisonous witch soon.

Half was from the Friday episode on Hulu and the other half was a new episode. It seems like Univision edited two episodes into the one hour. If you watch the episode for today you will notice that they did some editing.

A photographer was taking pictures outside the Lucia's casa hogar, and I think he caught Juancho and Barf kissing. Now we know Horny hired the photographer. Doris had to suffer a long list of angry visitors, the last of which was shown today (Isa). RIcky is alive! He was harassed by his landlady for past due rent and he's out of money. And looks like he's going to leave where ever he was.

Hey, I might have figured out how to turn off the mobile interface! (An iPad is NOT a mobile phone with a tiny screen, so it doesn't need a tiny limited mobile user interface). Also, the editing for entering comments didn't work properly - super difficult. Anyway, the URL ended with ms=1, and I tried changing it to ms=0, and it worked! Fingers crossed!

How many of you think Jaibo was faking amnesia. He knew right away that his goose was cooked by the questions, so there'd be some advantage to pretending you have no memory.
Las Tres Marias forgave Doris pretty quickly, without ever having to see her sorry self in jail. Don't get me wrong. I like Doris. I'd rather she and Poncho get little Aldo than Fer; he already has his hands full and I doubt Doris will come back to live with him if she gets out of jail. But if all the couples get sorted out in the end, they can probably all have kids of their own. Still, it was Doris and Poncho who bonded with the baby.

I agree that Doris and Poncho should get Aldo. They didn't really steal him. Both his bioparents agreed they could have him. They just didn't do it legally because silly Doris was so determined to pretend he was hers and Fer's. Plus Fer pays almost no attention to him and never seems to want to hold him or take care of him in any way.

Oh no. Cecilio is getting in the middle of yet another mixed up couple. At the end of Tuesday's episode Willy walks into the casa hogar to see Lucia hugging Cecilio to thank him for helping her with the legal situation at the casa hogar. Lucia catches sight of Willy's entrance and she whispers into Cecilio's ear -- asking him to hold onto the clinch.

It seems Jenni Rivera is much more important than Fer, Isa, Sarita, Leo, Luci, Willy, Adelita, Moncho, the other Chochos, Doris, Poncho, Aldo, Susie, Cecilio, Zoe, F5, Las Tres Marias, Barf, Knuckles, Juancho, Beba, Gabino, Horny, Jorrible, and EWM and poor forgotten Minerva.

The Jenni Rivera coverage was driving me batty even before I left, and I am surprised they are still disrupting shows for it. It is really sad that she died, but I thought that (for example) cutting into scheduled programming for a REALLY long time to show the plane arriving with her sad smashed remains and then horning in to cover the event was so morbid, intrusive, and offered neither new information nor any sort of nice tribute. Surely they could fit all the coverage into the news shows and a memorial special or two.
Anita - I have to agree w/Vivi and think that Jaibo is not faking it. My concern is that Doris won't come completely clean about the baby thing.

What a pain for the viewers! I won't be able to catch up with Hulu+ until this weekend. It takes me 4 days to drive my big rig (a motorhome, but it's big!) from home to my Dad's. No Univision, no high-speed internet for video, no time to watch anyway LOL!
Sticking to sunny south - traveling mostly I10. No way would I drive the motorhome anywhere near snow or ice, LOL! Thanks!

I also wonder what they'll offer up today. Likely another combined episode. Since this all wasn't planned in advance they must be working overtime to created these edited combined episodes.
I did see on my recording the funeral of Jenni Rivera. I watched it in FF mode, but still found the whole thing kind of tacky. I mean, I understand a televised (scheduled in advance) tribute, like the family of Maichael Jackson did for him. But to actually televise the funeral and to hold in in a big theater where you sell tickets for it, seems a bit much, no? And were those real butterflies they released inside the theater? I coldn't tell in FF. If they were, it's pretty awful to release those hundreds of butterflies INSIDE a theater. Anyway, I was disappointed to find that instead of the show. But I wish Jenni Rivera's family the best and hope she is resting in peace.

Well, folks, I concede (how many times now??), the doc has given us his educated, medical opinion that Jaibo has amnesia and it may be permanent. Poor Gabino.
So, Horny thinks telling Saintly Sarita that Isa's relationship is killing her daughter and appeals to her nurturing mama side.
Loved seeing Fer give EWM what-for and stick to his guns. Loved the nursie they got for her--clever of her to mash the pills into powder--and why weren't they doing that at the hospital. Loved seeing Isa tell Saintly Sarita she's not going to give up Fer.
Did someone say Ultimas semanas??? Maybe that's why they are both growing some backbones now. They're going to face the enemy as a team and we'll be spared more break-ups and make-ups.

Oh Anita, I hope you are correct -- but I've been seeing some cracks in Isa's resolve. Even though she stood up to Sarita -- she was already asking Fer when this farce would end and asking hi when he was going to stand up for their relationship with the same resolve that he protects Manuela in her illness.

While I disagree with Sarita's methods, I actually agree with her message. Fer needs to divorce Mani ASAP. What's he waiting for? There isn't going to be some magic cure for her life-long mental health issues. What makes him think any more time in this farce of a marriage will do any good. Divorce her and let her mother deal with the mess. Since Fer doesn't seem to be able to make the decision to just get divorced already, then Isa needs to be the one to hold his feet to the fire. She needs to get tough with him about this. I mean, HIS KIDS have had to move out of their own home because of this nut! Isn't that enough motivation for him?

As for Sarita, a good part of her reaction has to do with her own (some would say old fashioned) moral code. But a big part of her overly emotional response is because she sees the similarities to her past situation with her ex-husband and Gimme.
Remember, Sarita lost her marbles after her husband dumped her for Gimme, and then they had her committed to that clinic for years. I think it's natural for her to have sympathy for Mani in this situation. But she and Isa need to realize why Satita's reacting in such a viceral way to this situation. I think if they did, it would be easier for them to see eye to eye.

Vivi - No need to apologize for your rant, ITA about Zoe and F5. I was outraged. Why would the writers do this to us and to Zoe? F5 is an immature child who wants to be a male ho. Are the writers really going to try to sell us the idea that the birth of his child will make F5 acts as he should b/c we all know what a load of mess that is.

It seems if the writers are going to get Zoe and Mr. C together we will have to wait until the last episode. F5 shows up at Isa's apt for Zoe. Side note - if she returns to him, it is an insult to us as viewers. I understand there is a child involved but F5 has shown no remorse for his multiple affairs and lying about them nor apologized to either Zoe or Mr C. Why should anyone want to see them together again. This is almost as bad as EWM not being committed plot.
rIcky plants drugs in Fer's car. Seriously. Though Fer's behavior w/EWM does deserve jail time.
Sarita leaves Isa's and goes to the ranch. Isa and Fer argue about EWM.
I don't have much to report about Willy and Lucia's game trying to make the other jealous except that he shows up at Moncho's party w/"Amanda."
Mr. C coaches Lucia on how to make Willy jealous.
Moncho and Adelita go out while his mother and friends plan a party. It's a sweet surprise when they return to the house and Moncho proposes with a real ring (she has an hilarious multi-colored flashing ring on when they returned to the house).
Marisol doesn't go to the party and Knuckles slimes his way over. Of course Juancho sees him leave and thinks the worst.
Moncho busts Willy about Amanda b/c she isn't the woman in pic on the computer.
EWM tries in vain to get Fer to bed and then strangles him when he won't comply. Perhaps now he'll believe those reports of her violence. Unfortunately for Fer, the nurse watched the strangulation and didn't stop it. After this encounter, she tells the nurse she is not insane; hilarious.
It seems his near death experience, did make Fer realize, he's an idiot. The final scene has him telling EWM she's going back to the manicomio.

Why should anyone want to see them together again. This is almost as bad as EWM not being committed plot.
rIcky plants drugs in Fer's car. Seriously. Though Fer's behavior w/EWM does deserve jail time.
Sarita leaves Isa's and goes to the ranch. Isa and Fer argue about EWM.
I don't have much to report about Willy and Lucia's game trying to make the other jealous except that he shows up at Moncho's party w/"Amanda."

Moncho and Adelita go out while his mother and friends plan a party. It's a sweet surprise when they return to the house and Moncho proposes with a real ring (she has an hilarious multi-colored flashing ring on when they returned to the house).
Marisol doesn't go to the party and Knuckles slimes his way over. Of course Juancho sees him leave and thinks the worst.
Moncho busts Willy about Amanda b/c she isn't the woman in pic on the computer.
EWM tries in vain to get Fer to bed and then strangles him when he won't comply. Perhaps now he'll believe those reports of her violence. Unfortunately for Fer, the nurse watched the strangulation and didn't stop it. After this encounter, she tells the nurse she is not insane; hilarious.
It seems his near death experience, did make Fer realize, he's an idiot. The final scene has him telling EWM she's going back to the manicomio.

I couldn't believe that the nurse just stood there and did nothing when Manuela was strangling Fernando. Fernando should have fired her.

Anon 6:15 pm - ITA w/you regarding the nurse. However, Fer kind of deserved feeling EWM wrath b/c he would not believe what EVERYONE had told him about her.
Favorite moments from today.
Fernando finally realizing that he has let Mani take over his life while his daughters have to hide out -- in a series of black & white flashbacks. Also - the look on Fer's face while he was being strangled.
The wonderfully, idiotically romantic proposal at an overlook with the lights of the city spread out below and the lights of the stars in the sky. Moncho was sweet and poetic. I loved the sleight of hand when he asked Adelita to look at the bright star & then he reached up pretending to grab it from the sky and then opened his hands to reveal the flashing bubble ring which he presented to her. Then his formal proposal in front of everyone -- and asking Lucia and the other ladies of the casa de hogar for her hand -- very sweet.

Güera - Fer's reality check was good. I just hope he sticks to having a brain.
The Moncho and Adelita sequences were great. They are the best couple on the show, at least to me.

I also loved the scenes between Moncho and Adelita. ITA- Best couple! They'd have competition from Zoe and Cecilio if the writers actually allowed them to be a couple.
I was worried for a second that Moncho's proposal would go terribly wrong somehow, but it was just lovely and I loved the whole lights/stars/twinkling ring thing. So sweet.

I've been watching some episodes of Fernando Colunga and Blanca Soto's comedy. It's good; at least what I've seen. I think fans of Kristel in LldA will like it.
