I don't want to believe it but... Fer kept trying to get a kiss from Eva, then he started pushing that beer on her to break down her resistance - was he trying to seduce Eva in his own house??? Ewww!

So, Helena told Pluto that he's not the most important thing in her life; Lalo is. Anyone wanna' bet that by the next episode, Pluto is making arrangements with military boarding schools? I'm reminded that when Juan was determined to score with Helena and she took Lalo along on the weekend, Juan was really ticked. But when he fell in love with Helena, he fell in love with Lalo too. Now Pluto is reminded that Lalo is an obstacle to getting Helena's absolute devotion. So Pluto will try to ditch the kid because Pluto covets her; he doesn't love her.

I thought it was funny the way Eva kept setting the beer down and Fer kept handing it back to her. It seemed just a abit of comic schtick. I never thought of your idea, Paula.

Pluti has already shared with Onesimo that he plans to send Lalito off to boarding school as soon as possible.

I'm so glad that Sylvia finally told Helena about Pluti's hissy fit when he found out Helena had gone off with Lalo without telling him. I would have thought that the mere fact that he followed her there and horned in on what had been meant to be private time should have creeped her out -- but -- better late than never. The scales are starting to fall from her eyes and the ring is on & off. Yeah!

One thing -- I think that Renato said that he loves romantic movies. ( A TN stereotype about gays?) That scene was so sad. Renato & Lucia deciding that they need to stop being together because she keeps thinking that she can "cure" him. They are both sad and are both losing something precious.

Guera- I was also very saddened by how the Lucia-Renato scene ended. I agree, they are losing a beautiful friendship (for now). For the first time we were seeing the real Renato- what he's like when he's relaxed, feels like he can be himself, and isn't playing games. Now he's losing the only person he can be himself around. But I applaud their maturity at realizing that they can't continue with this boyfriend-girlfriend charade because it's just hurting Lucia.

Maybe it's just me, but I was actually annoyed at JC/Eva for giving Fernando a heads up about the scolding he was about to get from Marcela. Fer has shown NO remorse, shame, or inclination to lighten Marcela's load and be a better husband. Meanwhile, JC/Eva basically rewards him for his lying and caveman behavior by taking him out to play! (Leaving their beer bottles for Marce to clean up.) Then Kevin assuming the problems were Marce's fault, and Jennifer not backing up her mother REALLY bugged me. Are they blind? Do they not see how much their mother does for all of them, on top of working and studying, and how she supports their father in everything (too much in my opinion)? Not sure why the Fer stuff bugged me so much this episode. Maybe because he's had so many chances, and NO ONE is holding his feet to the fire. Adri, so far, has been the harshest with him and only had mercy on him because of Marce and their kids. I'm interested to see how the kids react to this news of why Fer got fired. I am sure they'll find some way to blame Marce for it, like Fer did.

I am happy that Helena is starting to have doubts about Pluti. Now I'm ready for some of those doubts to really stick and bear fruit.
 

Thank you, TJ. I'm away and couldn't watch- how do you make a household full of people share in a show they can't understand? But you make it sound like a really good one and I miss watching. I'll catch up when I get home. Since it's my turn to recap tonight I may make everyone watch. heh-heh welcome to the world of telenovelas.
 

Thank you for the recap! Fernando was so disgusting in this episode coming on to Eva. I liked her lecturing him that one had to stand against machismo because we all (both sexes) ended up suffering because of it. It was good to see that Marcela is taking a hard line with Fernando. So sorry the kids had to find out the truth from Rebecca. I wonder what other little details she might add--guess we will have to wait until the next episode. It was nice to see that Silvia finally filled Helena in on Plutarco's over reaction to her and Lalo's trip to Playa Majahua. At least Helena is beginning to think about it all.

Oh, so NOW Silvia is concerned about Pluti's temper? Sheesh.

I wasn't happy with Ferni's behavior. Even if it was just comic schtick trying to get Eva to drink the beer, he's got such a bad record with me that I just can't cut the guy any more slack. For a long time I thought he was merely stubborn, but it's gone on for too long. Now his kids are all upset too and he's lucky Marcela gave him two weeks to find a new job because I would have left two months ago, myself.

I thought that scene with Renato and Lucia was really sweet at first. I was so happy that she seemed able to accept him as he was... and then she started molesting him. Gaaah!! Eva warned her, but she just had to try it anyway.

There is no way Lucia can blame Renato for this one. Lucia broke her own heart this time and made Renato feel lousy in the process too. But now that she's seen someone else cry because of her self-absorbed, one-sided approach to relationships, maybe she'll try something different.
 

And Juan Carlos had to take another step toward redemption from machismo in this episode. At first I was upset at the plot device of having Adri make JC believe that Plut & Helena are having sex. It seemed like just another misunderstanding to keep them apart. But that conversation with Mimi in which she reminded JC (that after all Helena & Pluti are comprometidos and that it would be natural for them) had another element. Mimi scolded JC for the double standard. If a man has sex with someone it's just sex - but if Helena has sex with Pluti even thoughs she knows JC is still alive she is betraying JC .When he accepts that she MAY abe doing the deed and still says that he is going to fight to win her back he goes a long way toward giving up another macho concept.

TJ-thanks so much for this fantastic recap. Agree with everyone about Fern, it is past time he does something about his misdeeds and quit blaming everyone else. Didn't like the fact he was putting the moves on Eva, double yuk, and pushing the beer on her. He really needs to grow a pair and man up.

It was sad about Renato and Lucia, they are so cute together and I really hope they stay friends. I like the fact that both of them let their guard down with each other and the one saw the truth about the other. I too hope that Lucia will now wake up, see her approach toward men doesn't work and be like she was in the beginning of this TN.

Hated the fact that Kevin and Jennifer didn't back up their Mama. Vivi is right, Marcela does so much to help the family out, while that slacker of a Fern, just whiles away the time doing nada. Loved how Marcela gave him two weeks to get his act together or he's out. Yay, about time. Hated the fact they got the truth from Rebe. Now maybe they will help out Marcela.

I really hope this little punky prank of Claudia's blows up in her face.

I did like the little outing of Santi, Fern and Eva, too funny.

I like how Mimi reminded JC what is what. Mimi was so right about Helena, she is engaged to Pluti, so it stands to reason she would sleep with him, even though we all know she hasn't. Glad JC is gonna fight to get her back.

Helena is finally waking up. Glad Sylvia finally told her about Pluti's little temper tantrum combine that with Helena witnessing that temper tantrum in Ixtapa and maybe now she will finally see the "real" Pluti. And kudos to Silvia for telling Helena about it at all. Maybe she is seeing a bit of Bastardo in Pluti, ya think? The CODA sure woke Silvia up, and glad it did.
