Por Ella Soy Eva #104, Thurs 12-13: It's Adam and Eva, not Adam and Steve.

Helena is interrogating Eva in her office, and Lucero is trying to mask her own laughter at Camil's responses.  Eva has a boyfriend named Juan Carlos.  Helena says there are things Eva has hid in her personal life that affect Juan, and Eva asks "Which?  Yours or mine?"  Mine, Helena says, no, he's not mine, Juan Carlos Caballero (reminds me of the Ana Paula thing in LQNPA).  Helena wants to know why Eva has so much interest in Juan's fraud.  "Por que?  Por que?" she demands.  Eva asks "Que?" and Helena yells at her not to start with the "Que" thing that she does.  Que?  Adriano interrupts the confusion and Helena leaves, but she stops to listen just outside the door.  Adri asks Eva where she's been and Eva tells him she went with dona Eugenia to her audition.  The wheels turn in Helena's mind.

In the hallway Santi scolds Renato for the abrupt way he broke up with Lucia.  Lucia is crying in Helena's office and Renato comes in with his tail between his legs.  She tells him she's crying because of the smog... or maybe it's conjunctivitis.  He's all puppy dog eyes and apologizes for having behaved like a patan.  He starts to say, "I want to ask you..."  Lucia leaps in the air and gloms onto him like an octopus with a tasty fish.  "Yes! Yes!" she shouts, "I'll be your girlfriend again!"  He makes a face like a fish gasping for air as she squeezes the life out of him.

Adriano is telling Eva he doesn't think Modesto likes the idea of Eugenia returning to acting.  Now Eva is out for bear.  She asks, just by coincidence, if Adriano knew Modesto had a second family.  He says no, but she continues to berate him not to lie to her.  He finally admits that he knew something of it but he never met Carmen... oops, well, that was the name of Modesto's second woman.  Adri knew about it but never told Juan Carlos.  Adri defends Modesto, saying that as a man he took care of two families- he didn't abandon either.  "As a man he shouldn't have two families, Neanderthal," Eva screams at him.  Eva gets on her soapbox about how men treat women, ending with her refrain that "We are all Mexicans."  She asks Adri if she's turned him off and no, quite the contrary, he gets turned on by her words when she's fighting for her ideals.  To her chagrin he loves her more than ever.  He gets on his soapbox and Eva glances around to see who in the world he's talking to.

Eugenia is meeting at home with her producer.  Claudia strolls in and Eugenia flaunts that she got the part in the TV series, Shadow of a Doubt.  Claudia asks if Modesto knows and Eugenia says she doesn't need anyone's permission.  Claudia can't let her get the last word and says, "Well, don't confuse your role with your real life," and flounces out.  Eugenia tells her agent Claudia is like a bad seed.  He looks worried and asks about Claudia being her husband's daughter and not hers.

Fernando is at a business but they're not hiring.  The guy has an idea and Ferni asks if it's legal.  The people that make infomercials are looking for people just like him.  "What? good presence? handsome? sexy?" he asks.  No, common folk, the guy tells him.  Ferni gets the info on the infomercial.

Helena is pacing in her office, worrying that Eva might be involved in the fraud for which Juan was framed.  It had to be someone close to Eugenia to get her to sign her name to the fraudulent bank account.  Plutarco comes in, sees the investigation folder about the fraud, and loses it.  "What is your interest in this matter?" he asks her.  She's just  wants to clarify things because the recent case with Fernando makes her think Juan may be innocent.  Pluto is mad. He's shown her all the proof that Juan is guilty.  The guy is dead, it's in the past.  Don't let a ghost come between us.  He demands to know if she's still hung up on Juan.  She says no, and Pluto asks if she doesn't trust him.  Of course she trusts him.   He invites her to dinner but she has other things to do.  Whatever. He goes back to his own office.

OMG.  Fernando is all full of himself getting ready for his big break in infomercials.  A busty woman comes on the set and with cameras rolling gets him to talk about the product, which he hasn't asked about in his usual manner of act first, think later.  He is strutting about, identifying himself by name, and ranting about how this fantastic product changed his life.  She holds up a bottle of Sex Time and talks about how it gives hope to those men who suffer from erectile dysfunction.  Que, que, what?  You offend me, he tells her.  Why would I need that?  Some times. well, once. only once!

Kevin runs after Claudia outside school because she left her notebook.  She's indifferent to school (as to most things) and in reply tells him that she likes music but doesn't like studying.  She invites him over to her house.

In his office Pluto is ranting to himself about Helena not trusting him (yeah, I'd be surprised too) and Rebeca overhears.   She taunts him about it and asks "Can I offer you something, Cachito?" as she protrudes her... assets.  He says in fact she can help him by talking him up to Helena.  She mocks him and says that if the piranha doesn't trust him that's his problem.  He tells her he owns her now and she'd better be careful.

Eva is watching skeptically as Lucia has her tentacles all over Renato and asks what's going on.  Eva is not buying the octopus and the fish story and peels Lucia's suckers off Renato, who she then drags into the hallway.  Eva demands to know why Renato has not said anything to this poor woman, and Renato nervously says he doesn't know what she's talking about.  Eva gives it to him straight.  "You know very well what I'm talking about.  If you don't want to come out of the closet that's your choice.  What's wrong is that you continue to play with people.  End it without breaking her heart."  Renato cracks and admits Eva is right.  Eva tells him to take care of this or she will tell Lucia everything.  Renato agrees.

Now Helena is out for bear.  She's shown up at the pension and is demanding from Mimi and her nephew that they let her into Eva's room to investigate.  Mimi tries to defend her cousin and Helena accuses Mimi of being Eva's accomplice.  Mimi calls Eva who tells her not to let Helena into her room under any circumstances.  In the lobby Helena sits and paces, sits and paces, waiting for Eva to show up and clarify things.  She's very funny.

Fernando is messily eating at home.  Marcela comes in and wants to know where the kids are.  In their rooms, Ferni thinks, and Marcela wants to know why he isn't more on top of things.  Jennifer comes out and demands they stop lying to her.  Has Ferni been fired from GI or not?  Ferni admits yes and Jennifer asks why.  He seems about to tell her the truth, but Marcela jumps in with an explanation about some employees being let go because of reorganizing.  Ferni appears grateful, and Jennifer tells him he's a great man and will find something soon.

Plutarco is trying to call Mendoza, the lawyer that helped frame Juan, and in frustration decides to email him instead.  I smell an anvil.  He writes that they have to go forward with what they've planned.

Marcela is anxious and wonders where Kevin is.  She calls around while Ferni tells her to relax.  Kevin is listening to Lady Gaga with Claudia and doesn't hear his phone.  When he see all the missed messages from his mom he panics a little, but Claudia tells him to relax.  The boy is in love.

Felix the computer geek comes into Rebeca's office.  She's rude to him, as she is to all the peasants beneath her, but wait!  She transforms as an evil idea hatches.  She plays with her hair and further exposes her assets.  She calls him guapo.  She tells an elaborate story about men cheating on women and wants access to the email passwords to check this out.  He can't do that and she gets mad.  She's about to throw him out again when he brings up the CD she had (which he returned to Pluto unbeknownst to her) and had thought was Helena's.  She purrs at him some more and offers to write him a big check to keep quiet and bring her a copy.  He is reluctant but seems to agree.  He leaves, and once again she bothers the Virgin praying she won't have to sleep with someone of this ilk to get what she wants.  (only, as Paula states, sealing her own fate)

Eva has returned to the pension and Helena confronts her in the lobby.  Someone opened a fraudulent bank account in Eugenia's name, and now for no reason Eva and Eugenia are buddies.  The person that accused Juan of fraud was Maximillano Montes; he was Eva's old boyfriend.  Eva better explain right now or Helena is going to the police.

Avances: Eugenia walks in on Eva and Helena and states that she can explain everything perfectly.

Thank you for the speedy and fun recap! Here on the west coast they cut off the show to show the jet with Jenni Rivera's remains taxiing into the airport - over and over. So your recap is much appreciated, as I didn't get to see a lot of the end.

Ditto what Maggie said. They preempted part of the show for a special breaking-news broadcast. For well over an hour. To announce that the plane with Jenni's remains had landed. And show aerial shots of the airport (no interior shots, no people shots, no shots of cars with people, just aerial shots). For over an hour.

Great recap, Bill. I'm so glad that you gave us good coverage of the last part of the show, the part that was preempted.

When Fernando was on the set, cameras rolling, I fully expected that when his "costar" came out it would be Angelica in her birthday suit.

Pluto is losing ground fast. YEAH! The way he snatched that file off Helena's desk, I wanted to smack him. The more he loses his grip on Helena, the more he loses his grip on his cool. In the real world, where the Sweet Young Thing isn't blind and oblivious, that would be a HUGE turnoff. But in TN-world she never notices that her suitor has become her stalker and wants to be her jailer.

Thanks, Ithabill. Sorry I've been a lurker. Enjoying the show, but more so because of you recappers who explain what I missed.

Ithabill, thank you for the recap!
Eva sure gave her opinion on Modesto having another household. I love when she is on her soapbox for all of the little beautiful women. I also liked Eva's talking to Renato to keep him honest. I sort of feel sorry for him because he is between a rock and hard place with all the conflicting advice he is getting. You get the feeling he needs to keep this job for whatever hidden reason/research he is there. Fernando sure got his! I hope it is just the first of many!

The coming attractions say "Lunes". it looks like there is a two hour show of Corona de Lagrimas... Boo Hoo!

Fernando - Hilarious!
Renato - did he really admit to being gay?

Since when is the Virgencita the patron saint of sluts?! Too funny!

Thanks for the fun recap Bill. I'm in LA as well and missed Helena confronting Eva, but I did see an agitated Helena going up against Mimi and I appreciate Mimi's unconditional friendship with JC. She owes JC nothing yet she is a true friend by calming Helena down allowing her to have a seat and wait for Eva to show up. Mimi gives nothing away. (As far as my very poor Spanish can detect...feel free at all times to correct me). I'll say it again, "what a great broad"!!. I hope Mimi receives all the love she deserves in a happy ending to this novella! What is the plan that PLuty has with Montes? Who are they framing? It sounds like they are stepping up their game because Helena is starting to get in the way. Are they going to discredit Helena or Eva or Rebecca?

Lol Anon 11:18 "since when is the Virgincita the patron saint of sluts?" As a practicing RC I find this........hilarious. Mary is blushing in the Christmas manger on my front lawn!!

What's the name of 'bug eyes' the money laundering lawyer? Is that Montes ? I don't know how but I am getting his name mixed up with the beefcake that was Eva's alleged ex boyfriend.

Emilia, welcome! I'm glad you came out of lurkdom. As noted in the "Care and Feeding of Recappers" post on the sidebar, readers' posts are a recapper's only "payment" for their work, and if they're like me it's gratifying to know that someone is reading it.

Anon 11:18, Anon 11:22, Anon 11:33, and any other Anon's out there, can I please ask a favor of you? Could you please call yourself something so we can call you by that handle? It doesn't have to be your name - it can just be a single letter, or you can call yourself Broccoli or Pillbug or Carburetor. Anything! It makes it easier to refer to people's comments. Thanks.

Max Montes is an old man who retired from the travel agency where Samantha worked (Samantha was the one who had an abortion). To take revenge on JC, Samantha worked with Pluto in the fraud - she got her bodybuilder boyfriend (BB BF) to testify at the GI board meeting that JC was in cahoots with the competition. The BB BF used "Max Montes" as his alias. Anon, that's why you confuse them.

Thanks so much Ithabill. This was hilarious.

I loved Helena pacing & sitting & pacing & sitting. She did a nice comic turn there.

'Virgencita, patron saint of sluts" very funny.

Yes, Pluti does seem to be getting desperate. I think that he intends to frame Rebecca for the fraud that Mendoza is helping him with -- but I also think that he intends to ruin the Playa Majuaga project by making it go over budget & that will put Helena out of a job and make her dependent on him when the marry and he gets to install her in her wifely and obedient place. What a sleaze.

I agree that the way he grabbed that folder off her desk should have been a big red flag for her, but Helena is still too blinded by his shiny suits to see clearly when he is in the room.

(off topic) LA MARIPOSA en MUNDOfox

really good show.

they're showing this weeks episodes on Sunday again, from 2-7pm. they don't have English captions in the first run at 9pm, and do at midnight and Sunday re-runs.

If you missed the announcement, tonight is Teleton on Uni, so no show.

The recap for Wednesday's show had several comments about Camil's acting, so I e-mailed what y'all said. He replied, "Thank you for sharing this! Sure made me happy."

Don't forget Pluto has also created a fake construction company and gotten everybody to agree to throw the beach project to his shadow company. He's planning to siphon off the money that way.

You had some great lines, Bill, especially the octopus theme.

Lucia leaps in the air and gloms onto him like an octopus with a tasty fish.
He makes a face like a fish gasping for air as she squeezes the life out of him.
Eva is not buying the octopus and the fish story and peels Lucia's suckers off Renato.

Thanks Paula, for explaining the difference between Max Montes and Señor Mendoza. Mendoza looks dangerous and seems to have enough smarts to do some real damage to reputations. His eyes scare the crap out of me. If he messes with mi nina, Helena, she has my permission to remove here 5 inch, creme colored tacones and stab his bug eyes out with them. I'm officially praying to the Virgincita for this! Gertie, (formerly anon 11:22)

Thanks Ithabill!

OK - I have a comment about something that is REALLY bugging me. Helena did it several times last night.

If a woman's skirt is so short that she has to put her hands between her legs every time she sits down, then it's TOO SHORT! It looks very crude doing that and it really calls attention! I can't imagine doing this in polite company. Kendra on AV had a skirt so short last night that it actually looked like she grabbed her crotch when she put her hand between her legs as she sat down.

The standing up and pulling the skirt down is pretty ridiculous too but not nearly so rude looking.

Sorry - it really got to me last night!

Rant off. :)

P.S. Hubby says the actresses should just wear underwear and not worry about it - LOL!

Thanks to all of this week's recappers (Ezra, Melinama, TJ, Bill) for your helpful and hilarious work.
It's been a busy week, so I haven't written earlier.

Chuckled at the "virgincita as the patron saint of sluts." Of course, Rebe knows that she's special, so she can have any saint she wants as a protector.

Fernando in the commercial was funny enough that I forgave him his recent stupidities.

Loved Eva putting the muscle on Renato to haul him away for their little "chat," along with her other comic business. Paula, kudos for sharing the praise with Camil himself and letting us hear his reaction.

Laughed at Güera's comment on Helena being blinded by Pluti's shiny suits.

La Paloma

Bill thanks for this great recap and to you too TJ. I wasn't able to comment on Wednesday's recap. Loved that infomercial with Fern lol. Too funny. He should have stuck with it cause he really was good at it. I too was waiting for Angie to make an appearance.

Renato has a decision to make that's for sure. Eva can see right through him. Renato really is a mystery. When he investigated the fraud he thought Pluti had done it. So what is Renato's real agenda I wonder?

Loved Anon 11:18's comment about the Virgincita, lol. Rebe still continues to pray to her though, lol.

(off topic) LOS REY
