Por ella soy Eva #115 1/1/13: JC/Eva Meets His/Her Brother; Loose Lips Sink Ships
Claudia is all witchy to Eugenia about Carmen. She thinks that Eugenia purposely kept Carmen's illness from her. Eugenia is impatient and shakes Claudia into trying to listen, and tells her she is taking Claudia to Puebla cause her Mama Carmen is in a bad way. They go.
Eva is calling Luis' cell phone and Renato's phone rings. Renato wants to know why Eva is calling him since he is standing right there. Eva instead asks if his name is Luis? Well, yeah he says, my first name is Luis, but I am using my middle name Renato. Eva explains that a friend of hers has been trying to find him. He wants to know what friend, uh, Eugenia Mistrail of course. Seems his Mama Carmen ain't doing well and they have been trying to find him, to tell him of course. Well, Renato says that he is dead to his mother, and Eva shakes him and tells him to go to Puebla to see his Mama cause she is badly off and may not make it, doncha know. He is rattled and doesn't know what is what, Eva says she will tell Adri, she tells him to git already, so he goes. Eva does go to Adri and tells him that Carmen isn't doing well and Renato has gone to Puebla. Adri is ok with that, and is sad for Renato as is Eva. When Eva is alone in her office, she goes to JC mode and he says that Renato is my brother. Mimi comes by and Eva in JC mode tells her about Renato being his brother.
Mimi goes to visit Adri in his office, leans all over him, he is sooo into it, but also wants to stay true to Eva. Mimi kisses his cheeks, and smells him, must be that pheromone stuff, lol. She doesn't kiss his lips however, she goes and he is watching her shashay out the door. Probrecito.
Helena finds out from Lalito, that Lalito cheated, due to Pluti, to win the science fair. Helena is not happy and will talk to Lalito when he gets home from school, they are waiting on the bus, which shows up just about this time. Helena goes to work, and she is conflicted again. Pluti comes in and she wants to know why he told Lalito that. I think he lies his way out of this situation, to make it look like Lalito took it the wrong way, in other words I think he blames Lalito. Helena of course looks like she believes Pluti cause when he leaves her office, he looks like he is sighing one big sigh of relief. Today he was wearing a pin striped shiny shark suit. After this little meet with Helena, he takes a meet with Onesimo, witching about what happened with Helena and keeps kicking Onesimo's chair, lol. I really don't know what the whole discussion was about, please fill in.
Lucia, loose lips sink ships, talks to Helena, tells her she broke up with Renato and that Renato is gay, and by the way, don't tell anyone! Helena pinky swears she won't.
Creepy Daniel stops by to see Fern, after everyone has left the house, to tell Fern he talked to his Dad, and tells Fern to go see Daddy-O cause he has a job for Fern. Fern is kinda weirded out but agrees and goes for an interview/meet with Creepy's Daddy-O.
Eugenia has taken Claudia to see her Mama Carmen and Modesto is out in the waiting room all pithed that Eugenia told Claudia. Eugenia doesn't care, he was waiting too long to tell Claudia and Claudia ought to have the chance to say good-by to her Mama. Modesto so doesn't agree, when in comes Renato. Now Modesto is really mad, but does acknowledge Renato by calling him hijo, and Luis of course, I am sticking with Renato though. I think Modesto wanted to know how he found out about Carmen. Anyways, since Renato is dead to both Modesto and Carmen he wants Renato to just go, but I have to say, Modesto almost looked like he was sooo happy to see Luis/Renato. Anyways, Renato tells him that Carmen wanted to see him/he wanted to see Carmen, don't know. Since Modesto will not tell Renato what room Carmen is in, Renato finds out for himself. Happy, kinda , family reunion in Carmen's room. She was happy to see Claudia, but didn't ever want her to see her like this. Claudia tells her not to die, she ain't goin' no where, don't leave Claudia alone, por favor!!!! This is when Renato comes in and Renato is thrown too, by how Carmen looks. Claudia goes so Renato can talk to Carmen.
Silvia has gotten her job back with the plant lady, yay!! But before that, Bastardo is with his friend talking, the guy goes, he has a client, measuring him, when a guy stops by to serve Bastardo, divorce papers. Bastardo has some words with the guy, how neva gonna happen eva, no go, no deal. Don't know if the guy inside heard the exchange, but he goes. Bastardo is pithed. Back to Silvia and plant lady, they have so much work, and the plant lady is trying to manage a sick husband, something about her son, I think, and then the nursery, when here comes Bastardo. The plant lady tells her just to talk to him and catch up with her later. So Silvia gives Bastardo her time of day. He is all no divorce eva, she don't need your permission, can get the divorce without that. He isn't pleased, he'll miss her he says, yeah right. She tells him that may be, but only as the general cook and bottle washer, not in a personal way. He sees the game is up, but I think he will fight the divorce. Silvia stands her ground, and she is lookin' mighty nice too, and tells him basically to buzz off. She goes back to work, while he looks like he is plotting something. That's all I remember seeing. Please fill in/correct as needed. Happy New Year everyone!

Also, it's anvil time. Mimi saw Onesimo leave Rebeca's office and she remembers him from snooping around in the pension. From the expression on her face, she's not going to let this go. I'm hoping we're about to see Plutarco's house of cards start to come apart.
Yes, Sylvia really is looking good. Too bad Bastardo cannot say the same for his evil self.
Finally, JC meets his brother. I must say, I like the brother much better than the sister. Someone needs to straighten that wild-child out.
I still have no sympathy for Mo, he is the one that should be in bed dying not Carmen. I doubt if anyone would miss him, he really needs to get a clue and mend some fences fast.
Does anyone know what the conversation was between Rebecca and Omesimo?
Rosemary Primera
Rebecca and Onesimo--she was sort of sweet talking him and gave him a list of groceries to get for her. He was disappointed she didn't want to get more personal and she was angry with him again. Can't recall any other details.
Eugenia and Silvia both standing up for themselves with their smug spouses!! You go, girls/ladies!
Adri watching Mimi sashay out of the office, with just the tiniest side tilt to his head! Hee.
La Paloma
Rosemary Primera- so agree with you about Modesto, what a putz that guy is. He is the Dad, so why in the world wouldn't he tell his kids about Carmen? He sits on his hands way too much. He always leaves the big decisions to Eugenia. I am so happy Eugenia did what she did, good for her for standing up to Modesto.
La Paloma- thanks for the Onesimo/Rebe convo. And so agree with you about Silvia and Eugenia. About time for both of them to do that. Rebe just keeps using Onesimo, but one of these days Onemsimo will tell Rebe payment is due and watch out when he does, I can just see that coming.
Bastardo told Silvia she looked ridiculous. Is he blind? She is actually kind of hot. He also told his friend that they were too old to have to win one another over any more. Heh. Good luck finding himself another bottle-washer if he thinks he's too old to win someone over.
Fernando did meet with someone at Daniel's dad's company who had been told to find a place for him. (This guy wasn't Daniel's father, he referred to him in the third person.) He told Fern he wasn't sure where he'd fit in because all of Fern's experience is in loafing, er, I mean tourism and this company doesn't do that. (Did he say what they do? I don't think he did. I bet we're going to find it shocking/hilarious.)
Also, Daniel got too kissy with Jennifer and she pushed away from him and ran off. (This was at school, not in private, so I'm not sure what she was upset about - we've seen them make out before! She said they'd be late to class but I don't think that was all she was upset about.)
Onesimo and Rebeca - she tried to get him to say more about the millions of dollars he hinted about on Friday. I was distracted and didn't catch all of this, but I think he backpedaled on it when she got insulting, and again told her that it hurt his feelings when she calls him names. (These two are obviously destined for one another.)
As for Pluto and Helena... I kept waiting for him to give a good solid lie for Lalito's cheating, but as usual it was just a lot of fuzzy talk. (I mean, yes he did lie but it was a hazy, nebulous lie.) It is remarkable how Pluto gets away with things and no one ever pins him down to any specifics. (I would say "it's unbelievable," except that I've seen people get away with similar in real life.)
Eugenia was a hero in this episode despite taking flack from many angles. For someone who has been hospitalized for her mental frame of mind, she sure has her act together by getting those two kids to the hospital to see their mom before its too late. She's intuitive and compassionate enough to know that the event of their mother's death will be with them for the rest of their lives. Hopefully both will mature to the point of thanking Eugenia some day. Gertie
ITA- Silvia and Eugenia were the heroes this episode. Modesto and Bastardo both deserve that fork to the face. And I still don't know how Pluti managed to talk himself out of being in trouble with Helena! She needs to wake up already.
Julie- I'm also curious about what Dan's dad's company does. Obviously Dan thinks he'll be in so good with Fern that he'll pimp his daughter out..uhm, allow Dan to take her on a weekend trip to the beach.
Off Topic: RG, who sometimes comments on Caray, did a Best of 2012/Worst of 2012 List for the tns and tn actors we saw this year on all the US Spanish networks. Some of our faves from Televisa/Uni (AB, LQNPA, Refugio) and Telemundo (Flor Salvage, Mariposa, Escobar) make the best of list, and the worst of list is amusing: http://www.welovesoaps.net/2013/01/best-worst-telenovelas-2012.html#more
thanks Vivi in DC for the link to welovesoaps.net.
I've been reading RG's reviews in the recent months, and thus far, I agree with almost all of what he/she's written. Especially "Worst Telenovelas of the Year," and choice lead actors both from La Mariposa.
I would watch Las Detectivas y El Victor w/ Gregorio Pernía on MundoFox, but it doesn't air with English captions.
