Por ella soy Eva #128 1/18/13: The Seduction of Eva; Claudia is Caught; Fern has a 'Tude; JC is Bummed.

Hi Y'all this recap will not be in order. They went from scene to scene so quickly, I am combining them for the continuity of the story.

Tonight we start with the meeting between Eva and Helena is Helena's office. Seems they are talking about feelings. Hmmm, whose you ask. Well, seems Helena is telling Eva bout that. Eva had asked Helena if she was now going to hook up, er get back with JC once again, since Helena and Pluti are kaput, but nah, not so much. Helena looks at Eva and says those eyes, again! Helena is afraid to be buffaloed, er, swayed by JC's enormous charms and isn't going to "fall" again. But she has a secret to tell Eva, pinky swear, no telling anyone, but ya know how Pluti spread it around that Helena and Pluti were doing it like rabbits, well so not true, doncha know! Cause, wait for it, Helena never loved Pluti, who knew! Helena only has eyes for JC! She lurvvees JC still, and here Eva sings, Cristo!, but she just can't trust him. Even still Helena thinks of JC's kisses, his caresses, more than ever! Eva advises Helena to tell JC exactly what she feels, Eva is sure that JC would be over the moon. Helena still isn't sure and tells Eva not to say anything. So here comes Renato annoucing a meeting with Adri, and as soon as Helena goes out the door, Eva is doing a mad dance, and Renato looks at her strangely and Eva goes out the door too to the meeting. It is to introduce Mendoza.

So now there is Mendoza and Pluti, in Pluti's office. They are plotting and planning their next fraud attempt. It seems Pluti wants Mendoza to seduce Eva into submission, so Pluti can runtelldat to Adri and destroy Eva completely. Mendoza is down with that, he is after all a ladies man, EWWW, and then asks Pluti if he is still on board bout the fraud, ya know the one, FITSA, the Playa project, etc. and Pluti is so on board with it still, but he is counting on Mendoza to seduce Eva, so that Pluti gets the company and Eva can't convince Adri not to give the company to Pluti, in other words this Mission is the Destruction of Eva. Pluti wants her completely destroyed!

So now we have Rebe and Onesimo. What a pair. She has met him in a cafe and he is drinking beer and she is drinking, blood red wine. Anyhoo, she is trying to draw him in with her charms, in other words she wants him on her side, to be her ally. After all, from what she hears, Pluti has a new henchie, named Mendoza. Onesimo isn't buying what she is selling cause he is still Pluti's right hand henchie, doncha know. And besides, if he does ally himself with her, what does he get out of it. He is also eating with gusto, while Rebe makes a disgusted face. Onesimo wants some charms and bewitchment from her before he tells her anything about Pluti and then he'll spill what he knows. So they toast to being allies with entwined arms and Onesimo dares to sip her red wine, after the toast, she eyes the wine glass like it now has cooties. By the way I am sure she will find a way out of this agreement, cause ya'll can see by her face she is so lyin', jus' sayin'.

So we have Mimi, in the pension, in her room, with her box of memories, having a cry and looking at those old photos of her and Dogbert, I must say he is quite handsome, with out all the facial hair, when there is a knock on Mimi's door. She takes a moment to dry her eyes, but you can tell she has been crying and when she answers the door, it is Dogbert of course. I know his name is Dagoberto, but Dogbert fits him better, jus' sayin'. Anyways he has brought her a single red rose and wants to know what has upset her so much. She doesn't want him in her room, so she reminds him he can only stay a couple more days and he goes.

Now on to that meeting in the conference room. It is Pluti, the shark, holding this meeting to introduce his henchie, er the new legal rep for the Playa project. Mendoza will be handling everything, doncha know. Well, Eva protests that Helena is the one that runs that project, and demands that they send Helena all the goings on in a report, of course they will!!! Ya right. So meeting adjourned and Mendoza sidles up to Eva, and starts talking to her and asks if she wouldn't pretty, please, with a cherry on top, give him a tour of G.I.? She of course accepts, cause she so has his number, but he doesn't know that, and they start down the corridor, while Adri is not very happy and you can tell he is jealous. So Mendoza and Eva are takin' the tour of G.I. and Mendoza is shamelessly flirting with Eva. So Eva continues to let that go on and leads him around by the invisible leash she has put on him and brings up the fraud of JC. Mendoza actually talks to her about it. He remembers the case, it was just really bad, but noone can escape the law. Now Mendoza is hoping he has the sweet pleasure of seeing her again soon, and our shocked, I tell you shocked, well, fakey shocked, Eva tells him she is an engaged woman, doncha know. Mendoza backpedals a bit and says he only wants her friendship, doncha know, not anything else! So Eva tells him, sometime they could go out for a cafecito.

Now that the meeting is over, Helena had asked Lucia to get her some type of document, a copy of it, but Lucia informs Helena that Pluti, the shark, got to them first and that she can't get the copies Helena wanted. Helena is upset. So Eva comes in and tells Helena about her little walkabout with Mendoza and how Eva will use this to their advantage to pump, er get info out of Mendoza for JC. Helena is really likin' the idea and wants to tell JC all about it and whips out her cellphone to call. Well, Eva is now between a rock and a hard place, cause she obvio can't stay there, even though Helena tells her not to go. So Eva tells her she has gotta go, and Eva is running, hell bent for leather, to get to her office, as JC's phone is ringing in her purse, she gets to her office, and of course, can't find the phone in her purse, even though it is ringing like crazy. So what does Eva do you ask? Well, she does what any sensible woman does and dumps the whole purse out to find that cellphone, lol. So a very out of breath, JC, answers the phone and Helena would like a meet with him at that park they always meet in. They need to talk and he can't wait to talk to her either. He is very happy when he hangs up. And does another happy dance.

So Rebe is back in her office and is looking for that disc that Felix gave her the other day, ya know the one, she is using to try to hack into Pluti's bidness, when she finds it is missing. Probrecita!!! So what does she do, hmmmm? Well, she goes out to confront the blue skirts at the front desk of course, ranting and raving about how someone came in her office and now she is missing a sensitive, secret document, doncha know. The girlz have no idea what the hell she is going on and on about and Renato comes upon her mid rant. He even offers to help her look for it, cause she can't quite say this document is stolen, doncha know, she gives him the stinkeye and goes as Renato makes a circle around his ear at Rebe's departing back so the girlz know he is saying that Rebe is loca!!!!

So now we have Jennifer calling her Mama Marcela at work to ask permission from her to go to a friend's house with Daniel, yuk. Well Marcela tells her she can go as long as Kevin goes with her, Yay!!! And Marcela wants her to call Fern and ask his permission too. Jennifer isn't happy but she agrees. Fern is so frustrated by his job, he odios it so much! Well, Jennifer calls Fern to ask his permission, while he is, and trying to get a good signal and he knocks those huge piles of files off his desk. She asks permission from him too, but asks if she HAS to take Kevin, No, she doesn't but she has permission to go. Fern was so not paying attention. Jennifer is happy.

Ok, now on to Eugenia and Modesto. Eugenia is trying to talk to Modesto about the pill scam. Modesto so thinks Chepina had something to do with it, but Eugenia puts the kibosh on this and tells Modesto that so isn't true. Chepina has been with her for years and she could trust her with anything. So Eugenia informs Modesto she just knows that Claudia did it. Modesto of course is not agreeable to this, but Eugenia gets up and calls for Claudia. So finally in comes Claudia and Modesto asks her once again, if she switched those meds of Eugenia's. Of course, Claudia goes into victim mode and cries and says but Daddy, I soooo didn't dooo it, crying like crazy and huggin Daddy-O , and calls Eugenia crazy! Well, Modesto asks her one more time and tells her he is very serious and she better tell the truth, this is her last chance. Well, of course she denies it again, crying like a river to boot. So Modesto tells her since she won't tell the truth, he has no choice but to, wait for it, send her off to boarding school! Probrecita. Both Eugenia and Claudia are shocked by this action of Modesto's. It is almost like, ya gotta problem child, send them off to boarding school. Renato comes in and Claudia runs to him and begs to live with him. Renato surprisingly agrees with Modesto's decision to send Claudia to boarding school and tells her so. Renato, the good guy, also tells Modesto and Eugenia that Claudia confessed her little joke to him about switching the pills. Claudia is very pithed and shrieks at Renato that he is a traitor and crying like a river, runs from the room. After she goes, Renato tells Modesto are you happy now. One of your children is a thief, one is bad, and the other is well you know, and leaves. Modesto feels so bereft and Eugenia disgustedly leaves the room.

So now JC has made it home to the pension, and he and Mimi are doing a little dance in his room and he tells her, he thinks that he and Helena could be getting back together. JC is on his way to see Helena. Mimi warns him to be careful leaving so Dogbert doesn't see him.

So Fern has slogged himself home, in his bad mood, and Marcela is busy working on her thesis. So Fern tells Marcela he wants to quit his job, he has had enough, stick a fork in him, if only we could, jus' sayin'. Marcela tries to tell him it won't be easy finding another job, cause of what happened at G.I. and his past work history. So Fern is way pithed and starts the argument. She wants him to find another job, before he quits this one, it would be better for her and the kids, he is pithed by her superior attitude, cause she has that cushy job and she is always the boss. She reminds him that she worked to where she got, she started out as a receptionist and worked her way up,and he could do the same. He isn't down with it, he absolutely hates his job. So Fern is so pithed he takes Antonia's thesis and rips it to shreds. Que Horror! Poor Marcela, she is crying and telling him he just ripped up Antonia's thesis and that she got it from Helena, who got it from Pluti and she is very ,very upset! Fern is now apologizing to Marcela but he blames Marcela and tells her it is all her fault he ripped up Antonia' s thesis, doncha know. Well, Marcela has had it! She is tired of Fern acting like a little kid already. He wants to quit that job he can quit, but he better do something better and he better remember that promise he made to her and the kids!

So now we have that meet between Helena and JC at that park they like to go to,with the castle thingy in the background. Helena thought bubbles about all the bad things that JC has done. She is quite the doubting Thomas I must say. She decides to only tell him what she found out and not about how much she loves him. JC is approaching her from behind, as she is thinking this and he puts his hands over her eyes, like guess who? He is soooo very happy to be there with her, and she is very serious with him. Helena tells him about Eva cozying up to Mendoza and trying to find out about the fraud. JC is very happy that Eva is willing to help him.JC is very disappointed he thought this was a lurrvve meeting. Meh, not so much. JC asks if they are going to talk about them at all and she coldly tells him that nothing has changed. Helena tells JC she is going, but he really wants to talk about them. Helena tells JC there "isn't" a them and goes, and JC is very sad. JC/Eva also had a little advice convo with themselves too, it was way funny, but I can't remember what was said. If someone knows the advice JC/Eva gave themselves, please comment. I am adding this to the recap. Jarifa thanks so much for this convo: JC/Eva are having a convo with themselves and here is what it was about. JC asks himself who understands women? He then asks Eva if she understands them? Eva responds by telling him he is a neanderthal. He wants to know what she means. Eva says that he treats beautiful women in that way and that he should give Helena time. JC's response is that he doesn't have time: time is the thing he has the least of. This was so funny! They should have used a split screen with Eva on one and JC on the other.

So now we have Rebe and Angie at Rebe's apartment and Angie is in a great mood, while Rebe is all upset about that missing disc and how she won't be able to get Pluti's info on it. Angie tells Rebe she has some news and to be calm. Rebe wants to know what is up, and Angie tells her that she is signing her divorce papers in the morning, then taking a flight to the Unites States in the afternoon, it is hot to be a Latina in the States right now, look at Salma Hayek, she is in much demand. Rebe is very emotional at Angie's leaving and they say good-bye with big hugs and Rebe is actually crying and saying she'll miss her, and Angie tells her, I love you, in English, lol.

So now JC is back with Mimi, after his meet with Helena and he is bummed. He wants to know what about Dogbert, how you feel about him? He may change, ya know maybe he is trying to do what I did, ya know change. Don't judge Dogbert like they all judged me. Mimi is astounded.

And lastly we have ole Bastardo, in a clean house for a change, maybe he is cleaning it himself now, jus' sayin and he is talking to his friend Bulmaro, that is this guy's name, finally. Bastardo finally admits, that Helena was probably right, about giving Silvia her freedom to compensate for all the hell he put her through, who knew???? When guess who comes to call? Silvia's lawyer and here is where we end this epi!

Avances:

Dogbert sneaks into Mimi's room and goes thru her box of memories and looks at pics of Mimi and Eva!

Ok, y'all the recap is up. If I made an error please let me know. I may have gotten the last convo with Mimi and Juan wrong.

Great work Madelaine and its true ...I've dumped everything out of my purse like that ...but didn't feel sensible.

I can't believe Ferni tore up that thesis. Is this going to be valuable lost evidence ? Or will it accelerate Marcela's discovery of inconsistencies between Antonia's and Helena's thesis ? I really think Marcella is going to do something pivotal in helping Helena because Marci is so stinking smart and honest! I just hope this doesn't slow her down.

It really frustrates me that Helena can't get to see the paperwork she wants to see because PLuty intercepted It first. Sounds like a guy that I used to work with. Then I would inherit his mess and have to clean it up. Where is Renato when you need him? Hes a pretty smart guy. he is picking up on Rebe. Why isnt he picking up on Pluty?Oh that's right, he's looking for his next promotion.

Mendoza is just going to be another layer of corruption to cut through. Even though Eva has Mendozas number, If Adri gets jealous enough he could do rash things . Also Adri has those health concerns. If he winds up in the hospital, PLuty will be in charge. Yuck!

On the bright side , Eugenia is doing much better and Modesto is finally taking some responsibility for his daughter.
Gertie.

wow, thanks, Madelaine. That was a lot. I haven't watched yet but I want to point out, despite the fact that you guys hate him, Fernando just became the hero of this TN. He ripped up the fake thesis! That means Marcela or Helena- it's too late in the show for it to be Pluterco- will go get the real thesis from the university. We're on our way. Let the anvils fall where they may.

Hey Y'all there was a fragment that I'd forgotten about and I already erased the epi I taped. It had to do with Eva/JC giving themselves advice. So if you know what was said please comment.

Great work Mads!

Ithabill- I was very happy to see the fake thesis be torn, meaning Marci will have to find the real one. But given that wasn't his intent, this incident only increased my hate for him.

Madelaine, I still had the episode on tape because I was out last night. JC asks himself: Who understands women? He then asks Eva if she understands them. Eva responds by telling him he is a neanderthal. He wants to know what she means. Eva says that he treats beautiful little women in that way and that he should give Helena time. JC's response is that he doesn't have time: time is the thing he has the least of. Hope that helps. I still don't know how you guys do whole episodes.

I loved Renato's going to his father's house to tell the truth. On the topic of the Caballero household, the promos also had a very fast series of short scenes and Eugenia was slapping somebody in one of them. Brown hair was flying. Things that make you go hmmmmm . . .

Marcela needs to get some self esteem and kick Fernando to the curb. After that tantrum, Fernando needs to go home to mommy.

Looks like Bastardo might be having a moment of hunanity and sanity. Too bad it might happen only once every 30 years.

I think Oneisimo is going to be getting lucky real soon. Rebeca needs his help way to much. In between looking at her cleavage and talking about her "cuerpomatico", he did mention he was also interested in her dear little heart.

Jarifa

I too can't forgive Ferni for his destructive behavior towards his wife. How can you try to destroy someone you love? Someone that you are actively trying to raise children with?
He obviously doesn't want his wife to be happy, but doesn't he want something better for his kids?

Up until now I thought he was redeemable because of the wonderful love he shows for his kids and the way they all connect around the dinner table....but that is probably more Marcella s doing....whether she can cook well or not...she stages that family togetherness. And Ferni really isn't a Dad but Marci's third kid playing "pretend Dad."

I hate to say this but at some point she s going to have to divorce him just to protect the family from his selfishness. And that would be so sad because they all really love one another. Gertie

People:

Don't know about you but Modesto is a Mofo. Seriously!!! Throughout the show he's looked harassed any time Eugenia has asked him to take a minute to talk to her. He never has time, busy, soooooo busy... doing what? Doing Carmen in Puebla?

Then they inherit the brat-from-hell and he still has no time for Eugenia even though he's imposing on her his by-blow (Isn't this a nice Victorian term to describe the unpleasant?).

He refuses to believe that his precious demonic angel could have had anything to do with the meds switch and prefers to blame innocent Chepina (who's been with them for a million years)for the deed. As if Chepina could have the imagination to do something like that....!

Not only that...! When the truth comes out and Renato confirms everyone's suspicions, Modesto turns to Eugenia and asks, "Are you now satisfied, woman?"

This would have been my answer, had I been Eugenia: "I'll be satisfied when you and the hellion leave MY house, once and for all."

Modesto... Misnomer of the century. At least with Eduardo, we see it coming. We know he is a neanderthal. But with Modesto, everything is underhanded: his affairs and circuitous dealings; his avoidance of truth; his rejection of JC as if he had never existed... all of which are accompanied with his freakin' St-Hubert face of self-pity. I SOOOOO dislike him.

Good Afternoon Y'all and thanks for all the great comments.

Jarifa~~~~ Thanks so very much for that JC/Eva convo. I added it to the recap. That scene was so funny.

Gertie~~~~ I too am glad that Eugenia is getting better and she got the best of Modesto. I too think Mendoza is another layer of corruption, but at least Eva knows he is no good and will follow up on that.

Bill~~~~Fernando will definitely be a catalyst for the bringing down of Pluti. I just can't stand his attitude toward Marcela. I thought when he lost his job with G.I. he would grow up, but he hasn't so far. Here's hoping he does.

Vivi~~~~ I too think that Marcela is gonna be the one to find the real thesis.

Gertie~~~~ I don't think that it will come to divorce with Fern and Marcela, seperation maybe, divorce I don't think so. They do love each other and have a wonderful family. I think some time apart though would do them both a world of good.

Jarifa~~~~~ I looked up cuerpomatico and couldn't find a definition. I thought it had to do with maybe the horizontal mambo. Is it slang? And thanks for the heart part, I missed that completely. Onesimo looked so in awe of Rebe and I think he is a mite scared of her too, but does enjoy the view : )

Annick~~~~~ I am so with you. I cannot stand Modesto. He is a true jerk. He is on par with Bastardo but not as bad, as far as physical violence goes that is. I hate how all his kids are dead to him. First JC, who he wouldn't listen to. His advice was for JC to turn himself in, then Renato being gay, Eugenia would accept Renato the way he is, then Claudia who he thinks is perfect, and come to find out she is way less than perfect. I think sometimes he feels Eugenia is dead to him, the only one he seems to have really cared about was Eugenia. I wish his face would freeze like that, when he scowls. He looks like a prune, lol.

Madelaine, I looked it up too and didn't find it. So, I think "cuerpomatico" is just a made up word. The writers must be having so much fun with this. If I remember correctly, it was said with the idea that if she turned her "cuerpomatico" on Onesimo's teller/cash station would be open 24/7. I will leave an exact translation to the imagination . . .

Jarifa

Jarifa~~~~ Thanks so much. I can just imagine, lol. I do like Onesimo and Rebe together though. He really is sincere deep down about her, and she just wants to use him to get what she wants, but on the other hand they come from the same background, even though she calls him a Naco over and over. I am hoping before this TN is over that they actually do the deed, it would be so funny to see that. We've already seen her with the hoi poloi, Pluti. I want to see her with someone from her own background.

Madelaine, thanks for the recap. We inch along toward the reveals, the anvils we want--so near, yet so far away.

Modesto--truly one of the worst men. He's an example of something we studied in lit. class one time--the whited sepulcher. This is a tomb all clean and beautiful on the outside, but filled with rot and corruption on the inside. Modesto is that kind of hypocrite, the perfectly groomed gentleman who is corrupt and useless as a father. Fernando is childish and irresponsible, but he does have more involvement with his family.

La Paloma

Oppsy, typo. I meant the only one Modesto ever cared about was Carmen. He was very real with her, as he hasn't been with anyone else.

Finally watched the episode -- what fun. I love it when Eva gets her wiggle on. And her flirting with Mendoza: priceless!

Rebe and Onésimo are very funny together, too. In a previous conversation, when she proposed their little joint project, he stared down her cleavage and said he was going to have to "consultar con mis almohadas" (plural.) I couldn't stop laughing.

Oh, and I couldn't catch whom Eugenia was slapping in the avances, but I did notice Eva flashing quite a bit of thigh...!

La Paloma~~~ I like what you said about the white sepulchar. So fitting. Modesto is so like that.

Blue~~~ Thanks. Those avances are sometimes such a mismash and go so quickly when they focus on one thing that's what I usually go with. I too like Eva's little happy dances, too funny and when she starts singing Cristo! Too funny. Onesimo and Rebe are such a hoot too. I really want them to hook up. She may forget all about Pluti then as far as bedding Pluti that is ; )
