Amor Bravío #108 (Uni 103) Fri 1/18/13 It’s The Bridal Bridle For Luzma and Pablo And El Cozened Codger de Cuckolded Cayatonto Finally Learns Of Rocio’s Marital Misbehavin’

Cap #108

Two to Review:

As Viewerville prepares for Luzma and Pablo’s lo-o-o-o-o-ong awaited connubial day of blessed bliss, we learn that Tolentino, thanks to a push from Padre Anselmo, is now all hot to enroll online for a college degree in Public Administration and thus, to put his hormonal half-life on hold for a while; Isadora has  given Cayatano  sky-high hopes that there might well be much more in this store for him--especially considering all those improperly placed pesos the old fool’s been parting with, courtesy of the portly, wicked Widow Lazcano’s  leading comportment; and along with Cayatonto and Issa, we’ve ass  ascertained that the fingerprinted document ceding back the rights to La Malquerida to both Daniel and Camila is totally legal, having been prepared by Lic. Becerra, and because Alonso had the presence of mind to have two witness there at the time.  The old fart’n fool de Cayatonto’s now going to be footing the bills for Issa since she seems to have been left out in the cold with nothing—oh, woe is she!!

And Now for the New:

Yago tries to chat it up with Natalia to find out if she’s gotten the results of the DNA test.  Not long now, he says, but she’s a nervous Nellie over the whole thing, she admits, because it will change her life forever.  Since the wedding’s about to start she will have to wait to pick up the results, though.  Well, Yago’s got a few words of advice:  if it turns out that Dionisio Ferrer really is her daddy, then by all means, take good advantage of it and him!  If he’s not her daddy then just forget it all and move on.  Right?  Nat says she wishes she could handle it as easily as he [resbalarsele= slides like water of a duck’s back, to be carefree about things, let things slide] but she’s not made that way.  Well, she’s too intense and she takes things way to seriously, he critiques.  Anyway, now she’s nervous because Yago’s family is going to be at the wedding and she doesn’t want there to be any slip-ups regarding their incognito relationship.  People, she thinks, will be staring at them the whole time (Word up! Girlie,  this is Luzma and Pablo’s big day, remember?  You are not the center of the universe, and especially not today!)  Yago is tracking with Viewerville here.  “--Naw, nobody’s going to realize a thing.  So calm down, already.”

At Amanda’s B&B and Banquet Hall, Rafael and Aaron are helping get the place set up for the reception.  Amanda’s long in the mouth since if it weren’t for them she’d have had to set up everything by herself cuz Nat didn’t offer to help her out [acomedirse] one bit.  She’s ignored her and refused to have anything to do with her, even though Amanda finally gave in and told her the truth about her father.  Aaron and Rafa tell Amanda to trust in the fact that she raised her daughter right.  Eventually that will win the day.  Nope, says Amanda, Nat says that she lied to her all her life, she doesn’t trust her anymore.  Nat feels betrayed and Amanda’s afraid of losing her now, for good.  They agree that since she didn’t seek Dio out and call him out on his daddy-hood or move in with him and take sides, then that pretty much is a positive.  See?  Rafa and Aaron tell her that’s a good sign things will return to normal in no time.  Well, Amanda’s not so sure; it seems strange to her that now that the truth’s out there, that Dio hasn’t been by to try to bully [amedrentar=frighten, intimidate] his ex-again.  Caras de “hmmmm” de Aaron, Amanda and Rafa.

Over at Los Albarrán, Pablo and Mariano have a last-minute chat and in their finest de charro ¡Ayaiyai!)) before heading to the church.  Pablo likes Dan and all, but he’d really have like to have seen Mariano engaged to Camila instead of Dan.  That would take a miracle, answers Mariano wistfully.  (Well, wait a bit, cuz after all, this is a telenovela and anything is possible, Big Boy!)

In another part of the hacienda, Refugio and Ana are ready to head to the wedding as well, but they make a stop and a last-minute plea for Rocio to go there with them.  She refuses.  Ana and Rocio have a chat about marrying up or marrying down.  Rocio instructs her granddaughter that it’s far better to marry a wealthy man with looks than an ugly poor man.  (Works for me!)  Refugio admonishes Rocio that she’ll be sorry if she doesn’t go to the ceremony at least, but Rocio stubbornly refuses.

Outside the church Rafa and Vivi are flirting.  Aaron arrives and all is happy, happy, joy, joy!  Viv’s going to take pictures for the happy couple.  FF>>  Amanda, in another part of the lawn, worries that Dionisio will show up with Agustina.  Osvaldo assures her he’s got no reason to be there and probably won’t join Gussie—at least he hopes he won’t.  FF>>  Nat moons and mopes alone in another part of the church lawn and stares over at Yago chatting with Mariano.  “—Gotta be rough seeing Camila with another guy here, huh?”  Yeah, agrees, Mariano.  “--But then what would you know considering you’ve never been in love?”  Yago snarls back at his big bro to talk to the hand cuz his pretty face ain’t listenin’.  FF>>  Hipolito flirts with Piedad in front of Doroteo, Eleutario and Rodolfo.  Eleu asks if he’s going to stick around or not.  Seems Hipo’s ready to move down there to Aculco permanently since there’s nothing and nobody [naide= “lunfardo slang for nadie] back home to keep him there.  Down here he’s got Luzma and Piedad, or doesn’t he?  Pia blushes and Doro swoons at that.  FF>>

Iliana walks over to the servants from the M.Q. and lands a big lip-smacker on Rod who is none too happy that she’s doing it in front of God (literally) and everyone!  “--Now everybody will know something’s up with us!”  Hey, says Illy, that’s what you wanted, right?  For “everyone” to know?  —And now “they”  do--and they’re not too happy about it, either!  Rod reminds Illie that Yago’s still in the picture.  “--Uh, yeah, but Yago doesn’t see it that way!”

Ana a Refu arrive and chitchat.  Ana brings up the unpleasant chat with her grandma about poor vs. rich and her granny probably not coming to her wedding if she chooses to fall in love with a poor man and get married.  FF>>Cayatonto arrives and mentions he didn’t come with the others because he had paperwork to deal with in Metapec.  FF>> Viv takes a photo of the Albarrán men; Padre A arrive; then Cami and Gussie arrive--alone, much to Amanda’s relief--and the two race over to congratulate the groom. Cam turns around and announces the arrival of the bride, on Daniel’s arm, and then all take their place inside the church.  (Damn, that sky blue charro and bright white sombrerota does do him justice and then some—once we can actually see his face…..)

The ceremony starts.  Daniel walks down the aisle with the bride giving Luzma away and telling more than asking for Pablo to make her happy.  Pablo smiles from ear to ear and promises that he will daily.   Vivi’s taking pictures and glances over towards Yago who, tho’ standing at Nat’s side, flings a flirtatious wink her direction.  Viv notes it, frowns back and gets on with taking her photos.  Nat notices Yago’s preoccupation with something, and, unbeknownst to either of them, so does Rodolfo!

At the M.Q. during the ceremony, while everyone else is away attending the wedding, Dio gladly helps Issa look for that “old book” that Issa says is really is a little lock-box made to look like an old book, which holds all the incriminating letters and pictures of Don Daniel’s affair with Rocio.  Finally it’s found, but (Crap!) there’s no compromising photo!  There's just a single--albeit blameworthy--missive.  Issa is quick to deny Dio possession of it by deftly redirecting his attention to more…diversional compensations.  She swings the conversation quite adroitly and our felonious couple then celebrate with a lascivious toast to themselves and (what we believe leads to) a libidinous romp in Dionisio’s lair.

Meanwhile, the wedding ceremony continues as Camila and Mariano place the string of flowers around the bridal couple, Natalia holds and hands over the rings for them, and Yago hands Pablo the customary handful of coins for the bride.   Rocio has arrived for Pablo’s wedding--incognito (if you can call a Black beret and huge black RayBan’s a disguise).  However, Refugio has had a feeling of sorts and turns around in time to notice the mother has come to see her Pablito take the plunge after all.

=========================================

~~Parte 2~~

Fun time’s over at the M.Q. cuz Issa has to make sure that she meets Cayatonto later that evening to hand him over his “little present”, the letter Roc wrote to Don Daniel all those years ago. “—The sooner this bomb explodes, the better!”  She exits, stage left.

Eventually, as all the loving couples—especially Dan and Cami--look on wistfully and solemnly, Pablo and Luzma are officially declared husband and wife; first by the Church and then by the State.   Not until they sign their names on the dotted line, though, are they allowed to seal their “official marital status” with a kiss.  Cheers all around.

During the celebration, Cayatonto receives Issa’s text requesting he meet for another er…rendezvous. “—I need to see you as soon as possible.  I’ll meet you at The Sunflowers Café.”  (Be there or be square.) Before he leaves, he congratulates his son and wishes him the best.  Pablo has to remind him that Luzma is standing there.  El Vejestorio (the old fartcicle) is pointedly short with her.  She does her best to admit she’s aware he doesn’t care much for her and promises she’l do her best to make all of them proud of her.  “—Yeah, I hope so!”  He excuses himself brusquely (a tactful way of saying rudely) and races off to meet Issa.

A bit later Agustina returns from the wedding ceremony and spies the two glasses, especially the one with the telltale lipstick stain.  She makes “the face” and slams the glass back down.   When el muy inocente de Dio comes down to greet her, Gussie pitches a jealous fit.  He denies everything and suggests that it was probably Dan and Cami who left the two dirty glasses after a celebratory swallow or two before heading off to the wedding.

Gussie tells him she knows better and besides she can smell Isadora’s perfume!  He tells her she’s spewing nonsense!  (When the facts are against you, lie at the top of your lungs and divert.  Then turn the guilt back onto the accusing party.  Both Issa and Dio are champines with that tactic.)  The hell she is, she tells him! “-- I know that scent all too well!”  “—Are you crazy?  Why would that woman put one foot in this place after the way you threw her out of here?  And besides that, even if she did come, do you think I’d even let her in?  Never in a million years!”  Gussie isn’t quite sure she’s buying it, but she stands her ground.  (Ten points for team Gussie!)  Dio turns on his errant …er…appendage with dignity, as usual.  “—Well, if you don’t believe me then that’s your problem!  You know, you’ve finally turned totally paranoid and so much so that you’re totally insufferable!!”  He huffs and puffs on his way out, relying once again on might being right as his motto.  Gussie glances up at her BIL’s portrait which seems to be sneering or laughing about her continued poor choices in men and she angrily hisses back at it.

Back at the wedding reception there’s goofy chitchat about Rafa’s book.  Yago takes a seat next to Vivi and asks if she’ll show him the photos she took a while ago.  The others chitchat with her about her talent and Dan throws in a request for her to take the pics at their wedding too.  The lights go low and the wedding couple begins to dance.  [The famous singer who I should know, but don’t and figure it has to be Silikon] sings the lover’s theme song.  Yago, looking like a total greaser, totally ignores Rafa and asks Vivi to dance.  Rafa hears and gets “the look” on his face but Viv quickly stoppers the crap bottle by telling Yago she’s there with her boyfriend and would rather not.  (Yago at least knows when he’s been turned down flat.)   “—Ok, I guess you can’t blame somebody for trying, right?”  Yago actually leaves and a disgusted Rafa tells Viv thanks for sticking up for him cuz if she hadn’t put a stop to it, he would have!  Viv laughs and tells him not to start the jealousy thing at this stage of the game.  Besides, she can’t stomach his type. Chitchat follows about who’s best at tripping the light fantastic [el bailón=great dancer] and who is best at tripping over the light fantastic [el trompo=the crummiest dancer] i.e., Rafa vs. Daniel who kids that he can’t dance worth spit.

At the servants’ table, Iliana begs Rod to dance with her and he finally gives in. Doro and Eleu celebrate Doro’s finally giving him “el with a little hoofin’ themselves.  Then there’s poor, moping Nat who tells Pia that at times she’ll wonder if she’ll ever get married.  Piadad says certainly somebody will come along soon.  And waddayaknow?  Right then Aaron steps up to the table and asks Nat to dance with him!  Nat laughs and says only if she doesn’t have to confess or go through the third degree! Cam and Co. are all caught off guard by it--so was Viewerville!

So then, Pia and Hipolito are left.  Must be the vino cuz Piadad boldly asks if he meant what he said to Eleutario in front of the church earlier.  Sure, he says as he makes a bold move to grab her hand, a person always wants to be close to his roots and to his loved ones.  Piadad and he share a smile and a big giggle.  (Awww!)

Somewhere in the room we have Ana telling Ramon that she’s going to Zacateca for her other abuela’s birthday—the abuela she lived with before coming to live with Daddy.  FF>>

Refu admonishes Mariano not to be such a stick in the mud just because Cami didn’t choose him.  Yeah, well, if he’d only shown up before Dan did he laments…..(--And so do we.  This just isn’t sexy in the least, Mar!)  FF>>

Meanwhile, Pablo and Luzma tell each other sweet nothings on the dance floor in between kisses and a few cuts of the proverbial rug as Rocio pines for her lost little lamb of a Pablito. “—No! I can’t lose my son!” FF>>

Padre A joins Os and Dan and Cam at a table and tells them that Teresa and Dante are coming back to Aculco in a few days.  Any news?  Not a thing.  They found no trace of the Farcases or Miriam’s tomb.  Dan feels things are hopeless then.  Os says perhaps not, that hopefully Juarez will be able to come across something pertinent and helpful from the bits and pieces the two of them have collected [recabar].  Cam is surprised.  They actually found something?  Yeah, the falsified death certificate and Braulio’s cell phone number—the man that was staying at the B&B.

Nat finally has had enough of being totally ignored.  She tells Yago she needs to speak to him right away and it won’t wait.   Yago’s in a snit.   She wants Yago to make their relationship public cuz she just can’t go on like this.  Isn’t it enough he tells her he loves her?  No.  If his dad could accept Luzma enough to come to the wedding, then why can’t Yago fight for her, also?  And anyway, she hates doing things in secret.  Illy and Rodolfo dance together and walk arm in arm, (even kiss in public….).   Yago doesn’t like being compared to a low account-no account  like Rodolfo.  If she wants Rod then go right ahead!  No, she says, she loves Yago and wants to be with him!  Yago asks what she’ll do if he doesn’t and she says well, the best thing then is to just end it, here and now.  Are you serious?  Yes, very.  El Yak-ass de Yago tells Nat he doesn’t like ultimatums.    She says then he should do it willingly and not because she’s asking--make that begging—him to.
Speaking of true love, Cam and Dan wish Luzma and Pablo well as they drive off on their gran noche de boda [big wedding night] and honeymoon bliss.   Of course, poor Nat stays inside, tears running down her cheeks cuz deep inside she knows Yago’s a lost cause—or at least we hope that’s the reason.

Issa is waiting for Cayatonto at the restaurant.  She can’t wait and immediately hands over the condemnatory letter from Rocio to Don Daniel written years ago.  “--I hope that with this it is obvious that…that…this is the proof that she was Don Daniel’s lover.”  Cara de momentary anger and  I-knew-it! de Cayatano.

Everyone’s saying their good-byes.  Cami tells Amanda that she’s sorry things aren’t going as well as they’d hoped between her and Nat.

Back at Café Rendeznous, Issa fakes a pained expression and feigns sympathy.  “—I know this letter is painful for you to read.  It’s that you don’t deserve this….you don’t deserve to be deceived like this and if I’d continued to keep quiet I’d be your wife’s accomplice.”  Cayatonto says no problem and that he’d have probably done the same.  She continues to stick the knife in and twist.  “--The letter was written twenty-three years ago.”  Yes, he says, she wrote it just at the time that Pablo was born.  They were having terrible problems with their marriage and were seriously contemplating divorce.  But, she got pregnant with Pablo.  The truth is that knowing I was going to be a father again stopped me from it.   Pablo’s birth saved our marriage.  That’s why he’s my favorite.  She asks him to forgive her for mentioning it (oh, why not?????) BUT couldn’t Pablo be Don Dan’s and Roc’s love-child?  I mean, she says, instead of being an Alberrán, he might very well be a Monterde!  Cara de gritting dentures de Cayatano.

What a tongue twister of a title. How do you do that?

I never never cry at TN weddings, mostly because I FF through them, they are boring and filler, but I watched this one because I really like Pablo and Luzma. There never was the usual history of the typical on again, off again relationship with them. Pablo stayed true throughout the problems that came up that threatened to separate them, and was not even tempted by bratgirl. But I did cry at this one, it was such a nice wedding. Not over the top either.

I think that the seeds of doubt have finally sprouted in Aggie's mind. Finally.

What's the significance of Isa and Dion not finding the rest of the proof against Rocio? It must have some significance.

Why has it not occurred to any of us to link Aaron and Natalia? Not saying they will get together, but it never crossed my mind before when we talk about couples. I hope they do become a couple. I hate seeing my boy Aaron as a third wheel.

Cathyx- We didn't think of it because Nat already has a hot guy waiting in the wings- Rodolfo. She can't be greedy.

I also enjoyed seeing Luzma and Pablo so happy at their wedding.

It looks like Mon will be very interesting!

This was such an episode. I can't wait to find out what happens Monday. The previews seemed very interesting. Loved the woman that sang at Pablo and Luzma's wedding. I wonder if that was the performer of their theme song?

I was torn between being glad Cayatano didn't diss Luz and angry that he wasn't more gracious.

Cathyx: Flaco and I discussed Nat with Aaron. I think Nat's life experience she's getting makes her less compatible with Rodolfo and wouldn't mind seeing her with Aaron.

Loved how they worked Luz's hair into her veil.

Nanette

Where the heck is New Girl? Maybe her for Rodolfo or Aaron, if Nat ends up with R?

Is New Girl a dropped storyline? Do they that in TNs?

People sure look funny dancing without music.

New Girl sure seemed pretty "blah" to end up with the hunk known as Rodolfo.

I think New Girl wants a man with money. Why else would she have been so disappointed in Pablo getting married. She hardly knew him to even get disappointed. Nopis. I say "pass" on New Girl.

Vivi, I'm starting to think that Bratgirl and Rodolfo might make it work.

New girl is a big mystery. Very strange to introduce her and never see her again. It's not like she left town.

Caroline, I heard the music, but it was so low that I was also wondering how they could dance to it without being able to hear the beat.

Loved how Viv snubbed Yago. He's such a cad. Right in front of Nat too.

This was a great episode for me.

I liked all the looking around that happened in church:
-Yago is with Nat but Yago is looking at Vivi.
-Nat notices what Yago is doing.
-Vivi is taking photos but is being distracted by Yago (I think Vivi liked that, just by the look in her face)
-Rodolfo is with Ileana but Rodolfo is looking at Nat.
-Ileana is observing how Rodolfo looks at Nat. (I think Ileana is starting to fall for Rodolfo, why else would she be doing it)

Great stuff.

Am I the only one in viewerville who has any sympathy for Natalia? I can understand why she isn't able to "get over it already". Being on the outside looking in, we in viewerville have the advantage of knowing what a rat, devil, liar etc that Dio is. Nat has not been privy to that insight. After years of withholding information her mother finally reveals who her father is and in the same breath sums up that he is a bad person and she should not have any contact with him. That is a bit much for Nat who I'm sure was hoping for a better outcome.
It's sad (but I admit it's going to be interesting) to see how Dio's lies are going to further confuse Nat and further strain the relationship with her mother.

Yeah, Natalia has problems now. It's too bad she doesn't also have Rodolfo because he'd be so much more helpful than Yago. Maybe this is finally the end of all that.

Pablo just keeps getting better. Loved when his dad was congratulating him, Pablo said "Luzma", reminding him that Luzma was standing right there next to him and shouldn't be ignored. It's too bad Cayetano can't suffer with the whole ranch business without hurting Mariano. Seriously, there's no other land for sale in the whole country?

Kelly

I agree, Nat is getting hit hard from all sides.

And now could she be pregnant ? Why ? well,

At the beginning of the episode she told Yago she wasn't feeling well (caused by everything that's going on with her dad), yeah, but that may also mean she's expecting.
I know no one likes this idea but it's a good possibility.

And then it looks like she broke up with Yago at the wedding.

Cathyx, I am also wondering what happened to the picture of Don Daniel and Rocio. There has to be a reason especially since Isa shrugged it off like "Oh well, no big deal, the letter is just as good". Believe me that photo is going to resurface somewhere down the line !!

I'm also beginning to think that there's some unrevealed reason why Mariano continues to obsess over Camila. I'm beginning to wonder if a replacement (such as Theresa) will be acceptable to him.

I also think that Natalia could be pregnant, which is certainly not a good thing.

As for New Girl, the actress might have been cast in something else and therefore not be available to continue this role. This happens from time to time.

The box that masquerades as a book has a twin. Hissadora found both of them, but quit after the first one, which she had to pry open. Notice that she pried this one open as well. She forgot about the second one because she hurriedly closed the first one when she heard someone approach the library, then put something on top of it.

When we last saw the one she opened in the library Dorotea had it and the other book that was in Hissadora's room. We didn't see her put that back in the library.

Flacco, I had the same thought when Natalia said she wasn't feeling well. I will not be surprised if she's pregnant.

I do have some sympathy for Nat. But she does know the extent to what Dio has been trying to do with/to Dan as she's been in on it basically from the beginning. she was one of the first to know that Andres was really Daniel.

I think she will end up believing her mother over Dio, but it is going to take a while.

And yes, according to TN law she is/will be embarazada. Poor girl, rich guy, who has no real interest in her.

I LOVED when Isa was told that the rancho was transferred legally. It was great to see it twice!

Well if Nat is pregnant, at least it wasn't from just doing it once. Seems like that's all she and Yago do when they get together. Stupid girl. I wouldn't call Nat poor. She and Amanda look middle class. Still not good enough for the Alberrans.

UA, I know there were 2 fake books. But why go through the trouble not finding the one that contained the picture if it doesn't have any meaning later on? That's what I was saying.

Foxy, I was going to say what LoriLoo said.
Nat knows that Dion is a bad guy. Dan and her mother have told her. She went to work for him in order to spy on him. Hopefully she isn't dumb enough to trust Dion's word over her mother's. And I am also hoping that she tells Dan what Dion said and he will set her straight. She's probably more likely to believe it if it came from Dan.

I'm confused with both New Girl and Bratgirl....Maybe New Girl will show up again as someone for Pogostick Yago to flirt with since Vivi turned him down flat. Which was great by the way.

And Bratgirl... she's trying to make Nat jealous so she'll leave Pogostick for Rodolfo, so she (Bratgirl) can have Yago?!? I don't get it because Yago can't stand her... There must be more to her plotting than meets the eye. Mine at least.

Yago even winked at TN Vivi

Nat's acting (the actress's) was really good last night. Nat looked so sad throughout the wedding. Everytime she looked at Pogostick he was looking, or leering, at someone else.

I had a miserable boyfriend like that once and put up with it for months. (My biorhythms must have been down.) I guess I should have more sympathy for her.

I've always thought of Aaron as asexual, but I think I'd like him better with Natalia than with Rodolfo. I think Rodolfo needs a girl with fire & spirit, not a doll baby like Natalia. Plus, he idolizes Natalia, has her on a pedestal and once he learns she's been sleeping with Yago, I think that would tarnish her in his eyes forever. He doesn't have any such illusions about Iliana.

Cayetonto is disgusting, the way he's treating Rocio. That's probably why she stepped out on him in the first place. If Pablo is his favorite only because Pablo held his marriage together, Cayetonto is liable to kick Pablo to the curb. Which is what Hissy is counting on.

I agree Anon207, about Pablo. But Isa will two other sons to deal with before she can get her hands on Buenaventure. It is going to be an interesting ride for sure.

If the TN laws are upheld on this show, and if Natalia is pregnant, then she will end up with Yago.

Cathyx, IMO if Nat is preggers, I think that's all the more reason she'll end up with Rodolfo. Like Pablo, Rodolfo will be willing to accept the baby which Yago will certainly not accept as his.
emongeu

I haven't been able to see the show for weeks, but I am secretly voting for Ileana and Rodolfo. I think that she is going to fall for him and she won't know what hit her.

Looking forward to the recap! Thanks in advance!!!

Foxy, I have yet to watch any TN that didn't follow this rule. The only way she will not marry Yago if she is pregnant, is if he dies.

Vivi, in today’s culture a lot of young ladies in Nat’s age group are having premarital sex. Some even initiate it, not all are looking for a commitment and some even admit to enjoying it. So, I doubt that she would be tagged “stupid” by her peer group nor by the tons of moms who buy birth control pills for their young daughters..

Foxy- I call her stupid for doing it with a man who doesn't respect her or will stand by her if the sex has any unwanted consequences which even protected sex can have. She is the kind of woman who equates sex with love and commitment- neither of which she's getting from Yago.So yes, she's being incredibly stupid.

Or, Natalia could give the baby up for adoption (Vivi & Rafa...OR Pablo/Luzma) and leave Aculco to get herself together and make a new life. Yago's not going to accept that baby and I really don't want yummy Rodolfo to be 2nd choice.

The real reason Augustina dislikes Daniel is she knows Daniel is going to take Camila away from her. Him being Agatha's son and Don Daniel's heir is just icing on the cake. Alonso & Luis were not a threat like Daniel is. Camila loved Luis very much, but Augustina was involved in that process (as was Alonso).

Augustina has NO involvement with Camila/Daniel. If Daniel decided he wanted to go back to Chile, or move to the United States or relocate to Mexico City, or England or the moon, Camila would happily give it all up to be with him. Augustina knows this and I don't think she'll ever accept Daniel's presence in her or Camila's lives.

I also think there is some jealousy from Augustina towards Camila b/c Camila has had all these high-profile men falling all over themselves to be with her, and Augustina has NEVER had that. Don Daniel never wanted Augustina...he slept with everyone EXCEPT Augustina. She probably only married his brother to be close to him. FX only wanted her for her money. Dionisio only wants her to get close to Camila/La MQ.

The thing that got me was Augustina had more of a problem with Camila having sex with the chauffeur than with Ximena having sex with her sister's husband. I have no doubt that had they lived & married, Augustina would have accepted Alonso as Ximena's husband before she ever accepted Daniel as Camila's.

Just to clarify, if Nat was the kind of woman who enjoyed sex for sex sake, and who also knew how to protect herself from pregnancy and disease, which judging by her first time in the park doesn't seem likely, I'd say have at it. Have as much sex as you want and disfrutalo, as Cami would say. But this f buddies situation is obviously not working for her, yet she cries and begs Yago to be more than he wants to be.

Yes, Natalia is very stupid for being involved with Yago. Anytime BOTH of a man's BROTHERS, as well as half the town tells you to stay away from him because he is a no-good womanizer who sexes women and dumps them once he gets bored, you need to take heed. Natalia has "MY LOVE IS SO GOOD IT WILL CHANGE HIM-ITIS." Unfortunately she will pay the price for this.

BOTH of Yago's BROTHERS told Natalia he would use her for sex so stay away!

Cathyx I haven't watched enough novelas to recognize any of the repeating patterns. This is the first I've watched in over a year. So, you're probably right since you're more familiar with how these situations usually work out. Still, I can't imagine Yago marrying Nat. Why would he marrying someone beneath him in social status that he doesn't even love? Oh well, I guess I'm being too realistic :-)

Let's all remember that we have no idea if Natalia is pregnant. She might have been feeling sick because of what she saw Yago doing at the party. That would make me sick to my stomach too if my boyfriend was outwardly flirting with other females in front of me.

Why would Yago marry Natalia? Because he is first and foremost a kiss-ass son who would do what his parents told him to so that he doesn't bring shame on to his family and they don't disown him.

Foxy- I'm with you on Yago. The only reason I could see him stepping up if Nat were pregnant is if Caye threatened to cut him of. This is a huge possibility because Caye warned him that he'd have to assume responsibility if he got a girl pregnant. That was during the tie up your hens conversation.

Cathyx- She spoke to him about feeling I'll before the wedding. She said it was nerves from waiting for the DNA results.

Anon207 (are you a character on Star Trek?), I completely agree with you. Augustina has been married to a younger son, a mooch, and now a con man. I'm sure she didn't get the hottest guys in her youth, either.

She still doesn't realize that El Diablo is after Camila and probably won't want to face this when he displays real evidence of it. No matter who points it out, and especially not Daniel.

I also agree with the comment that Rodolfo needs someone with more fire than Natalia. She's cute, but he needs someone with more dash. Someone better than Bratgirl, who probably thinks she's reenacting Swept Away.

That's ill. Stupid phone.

Cathyx is correct in the TN law department but also Papa Cayo may demand Yago recognize the hijo because he'll have Albarran sangre.

But this novela has veered from the TN tracks somewhat and I don't think Yago will marry her. If Rodolfo also holds up TN law, he will offer to marry her and raise the child (as someone else has suggested). But she may not want him in the end either....

But remember, Yago's parents are Cayetonto & Rocio. And their attitude will be if she got pregnant, that's her problem. There is no incentive or reason whatsoever for them to push Yago to marry her.

Now if Yago got ILIANA pregnant, they'd probably force him to marry her. If Yago got Camila pregnant, they'd probably force him to marry her. Natalia? Nope. She's a nobody and if she gets pregnant, too bad so sad for her.

Foxy, I'm wondering if you see a difference between American and Mexican young ladies in Nat’s age group and their attitudes towards sex. I work with this age group and I have seen that the Mexicans are still a lot more conservative, or at least the ones who live in Mexico.

Vivi: "tie up your hens" conversation. LOL!!

But yes, Cayo did tell him that.

What kills me is Rocio's willingness to allow Iago to mess up the lives of the women and girls he discards.

I'm looking forward to him making a pass at Viviana and getting a serious beat-down from Rafael.

No one has mentioned it yet, but I thought it was kind of sweet that Rocio ended up at her son's wedding after all.

Carlos

Carlos: I was hoping that Refugio would tell Pablo that she saw her there.

One unmentioned item in the discussion about Yago and his possible offspring. Said baby would have a Godfather-like grandfather besides his/her snobby grandparents. His violent influence/threat might trump that of the other grandparents.

Cindy

Well, I'm back and finally caught up with all the wonderful recaps and comments. Can't wait for this one to be up. We've run out of conversation over Nat's condition (except for my $.02).

About Nat having relations with someone who doesn't respect her (in the park, on the tablecloth). At the time it happened she was still dewey-eyed and in love with every little bill and coo Yago told her. When he stopped calling her (and should have been a sign), he sweet talks his way back into her good graces. She wants him so desperately (and flattered by his early attentions and seductive maneuvers).

I think we all have his number--that he only sees her when he "necesitas" her for cositas and the rest of the time he's free to ignore her. Based on her upbringing, that's not what she bought into, but she's been willing to take the crumbs if it keeps his interest in her.

Moreover, even if she's become aware of how ill he treats her, flirts with others in front of her, doesn't react caringly to her need to see him after the Dio talk, it may be too late (it only takes once on a flat surface--a la Dr. Tatas). Even if they use contraceptives of some sort afterwards, there's still the possibility there AND I bet Yago isn't the type to carry condoms around in his back pocket, either--too constricting.

According to TN law he would be obliged to marry her under these circumstances, but he has the option of recognizing (at least giving the chamaco his name) and financial support, walking away from the whole mess (and putting his inheritance in jeopardy) OR denying it was him that done the deed.

To continue---

Going back a couple of episodes--The Pool. True, we've not seen anyone IN the pool, but Javier lounged out by the pool a couple of times. Maybe we didn't get to see enough of the pool to recognize it as a swimming pool, but whatevva.

Also, I've been thinking about Isa wiping out both Xi and Al at the same time. Except for the fact that she sent Xi to Al in the hotel, there was no guarantee that Xi would go with him when she told him to drive to a certain location and wait. Do I recall correctly that he didn't want her along?

At the time, I thought it odd that Al would have pulled off parallel to a cliff with no guardrail, and then end up perpendicular to the edge--but that's a directorial choice, not Al's. Still Isa had to back up a few times and push. He and Xi might have been able to jump out, if they had reacted in time. Ok, maybe dangerous pull-offs don't have guardrails between Metepec and Aculco, but Isa was taking a chance that Xi would be with him--or that Xi might have talked Al into running away right there and then. Oh, well, it's all passe now and Isa is onto older and bigger things.

Dio has a one-track mind. He's determined to get to Camila. Why didn't he just go ahead and work at Daniel's elimination--the only thing HE thinks is standing in his way. He was certainly bummed out watching them getting closer and closer. It's been such a pleasure to see him get so angry and rattled over Natalia and Camila and how Gussie annoys the heck out of him--he just drips sarcasm. Yes, she gets it, but as someone mentioned, she wonders if it's her fault--and she WAS raised to be subservient to a husband, as man of the house.

Abe--ITA that Abe doesn't know anything about Dio's involvement in Miriam's getting shot. I do think he early on knew Daniel had't shot her, he just wanted Daniel out of the way. After he escaped, he knew nothing about Daniel's whereabouts and was just as glad to be rid of him. Meanwhile he had a pregnant sister on his hands and some assassin out there who might try again to harm Miriam. I approve of his trying to hide her from everyone. I'm wondering whatever happened to his parents--weren't they around at Daniel's wedding?

Teresa and Dante were very careful when inquiring from Abe's cop friend about Abe's whereabouts, NOT to mention that Daniel was actually alive. So Abe could speculate about any reason, but still cautious about who and why anyone from Mexico in the company of Daniel's friend would want to talk to him--other than Daniel. Maybe he thinks Dio can shed some light on it--maybe even if Dio had sent them. He doesn't know.

Cam 'n Dan have been happy, sad, and happy in the cabana. It's their cozy love nest/office/confessional booth/emotional retreat. The house represents Alonso, Ximena, Javier, Gussie, Dio and Isa. There aren't many bedrooms left where there isn't a left-over taint or smell. It will have to be fumigated from top to bottom before it can be made habitable for them as a married couple.

In this I meant--

Except for the fact that she sent Xi to Al in the hotel, there was no guarantee that Xi would go with him when Isa told him to drive to a certain location and wait.

It's getting late. I meant this.

So Abe could speculate about any reason, but still cautious about who and why anyone from Mexico in the company of Daniel's friend would want to talk to him--other than ABOUT Daniel.

Hissadora would have strung Ximena along for just long enough to figure out how to dispose of her.

If Natalia is pregnant Cayetano would order Iago to man up and marry her, as the baby would be an Albarran. If he can accept Luzma he would certainly accept Natalia (He should have been more gracious to her at the wedding, but he needs a little time on that one).

However, being a consuegro with El Diablo might not be an appealing prospect to him.

Loved the wedding as it focused on Pablo and Luz. I smiled and shed a tear, too. It's a lovely story of loyalty and love in a crazy world. Rocio showing up was a nice touch.
I must say, however, that Pablo's family leaves much to be desired: Mariano is the only giving and kind one in the bunch. I hope Pablo and Luz aren't too severely tested in coming episodes.

So many narrative possibilities popping up. Daniel's comment from the night before about not being used to things going right jumped out at me. At least they have had this interlude of togetherness.

Cad, cad, cad -- only word for Iago.

Working all weekend and am behind. Sounds like I'll enjoy the catch up! Thanks for the recap and comments.

Vivi- should I keep an eye out for you while watching the inauguration?

LoriLoo- love the kitties! What a sweet picture.

Anon207, I am a lurker who really enjoys your comments. Well done again wrt Agustina. I'm a bit baffled about those who have felt that some of the comments wrt Agustina have bordered on "hatred".

This lurker has no "hatred" aimed at the character. I can barely tolerate stupid women who define themselves by the man they're with and Agustina is one stupid woman who has never really appreciated Camila.

I wholeheartedly agree with Anon207 that Agustina harbors jealousy towards Camila.

Agustina has no insight into herself. She is going to be spending a long time in the school of hard knocks when that insurance scam comes knocking on her door.

If, at this particular point in the story, she were to witness El Diablo putting the moves on Camila, I think her brain would (literally) refuse to believe what she is seeing. Until her heart believes it, she ain't seein' nuttin'.

Camila's household staff (and, of course, Daniel) support her in her life so much more than her own mother. That is one sad commentary.

RlaO- Nope. I froze my buns off last time. I'm sending my guests off by themselves tomorrow and I'm staying in my warm condo to watch on TV. They're getting back on the road right afterwards if they can get out of the mess of downtown DC.

I thought it was cute how Cam called Vivi and her men the Vivianitos as they left Amanda's.

I think Agustina finally has Dio's number. The lipstick on the glass was pretty obvious, and I don't think she bought his story about Camila and Dan drinking a toast to the wedding there. (If that's what he said. My DVR screwed up and only recorded from the reception on. I found the episode on YouTube today, but without captions.)

I was also happy to see Rocio at the wedding. Does that mean she's going to eventually repent? If Cayetano kicks Rocio out of BV, and Pablo is recognized as the true heir of MQ, I imagine that Luzma would give her a place to stay.

As for the wedding fashions, Luzma's dress was beautiful, but I didn't care for the braid hanging down the back of the veil.

And Pablo's pants were so tight, I also had to look away out of embarrassment.

I thought Camila's dress was elegant, tasteful, and interesting, and showed just the right amount of skin.

And Agustina looked pretty in the lace.

Aleta

There are so many little, cute things that both Daniel and Camilla do. The other day, Daniel straightened out Rodolfo's charro tie for him. Looked like a spontaneous move and added to the charm of this great couple.

The difference between Luzma and Natalia is Pablo wants Luzma, has publically given Luzma her place, is willing to go against his family to give Luzma her place and demands his family respect Luzma.

Yago does not want Natalia except for sex, does not want to give Natalia her place, will not go against his family to give Natalia her place, disrespects Natalia and doesn't care if his family disrespects her either.

If Yago doesn't respect Natalia, why should Rocio and Cayetano?

So if Natalia DOES end up pregnant, I predict that not only will Yago not marry her, but his family won't force him to marry her either. They might throw her some child support or try to take the baby away from her but Natalia will not become Senora Albarran. Isadora. Camila, Iliana & New Girl stand a better chance of becoming Senora Albarran than Natalia does.

The only way Yago will marry Natalia is if Papa Dionisio forces him to. The force won't come from the Alberran side.

I miss so much. Thanks to recappers and commenters alike for sharing the subtleties. Anon 12:06 Lipstick on a glass? has Augustina seen that or is there just a smudged glass waiting to be discovered?

Jardinera Rodolfo noticing Yago's wandering eye? Didn't see that at all, thanks for noting. And Rocio's "disguise." Guess it worked - only because every one except Nana was looking at the ceremony.

This is the best novela I've seen as far as modern day novelas go.
I like the ones where you learn sth, raising bulls for the ring.
Destilando Amor, tequila industry.
It doesn't have as many of the usual cliches, has many surprises, lots of action & realistic human relationships. It has had more than it's share of hospital scenes though
Daniel y Pablo
Camila twice, bull attack,
kidnapping
Dionicio
Alonso
Becerra
Miriam
still to come Luzma
Did I miss anyone?

Augustina also smelled Hissadora's perfume.

What would be interesting if Natalia became pregnant is what El Diablo would do. Would he man up and admit he's her father (to her, since he has assumed so and said so to Amanda) and would he enter a conflict over Hissadora trying to steal La Buenaventura? That would be interesting.

Not that this would steer him from his own collision course with disaster if he continues to delude himself into thinking he can have Camila.

Why have they typecast Cesar Evora as this kind of villain? Does he have to become Enrique Rocha's age for him to go to another character type?

Anonymous, how could you forget the tongueless man whose name we hate to call?

They showed a closeup of the glass that had Isa's lipstick on it, but Aggie mentioned the perfume. She may have noticed both. And she definitely wasn't convinced that Dion had nothing to do with the glasses, as he claimed. I thought I also saw one of them had ice still in it, and if that's true, then the drinks had to be more recent than when Cam and Dan were there.

Hospital scenes:

Luis

Car accident (death)

Camila Monterde

Car accident

Bull Attack/Heart Attack/Transfusion

Kidnapping/Bull Attack (observation purposes)

Miriam Farcas de Diaz Acosta

Anon207, you missed one on Miriam: The accident at the wedding reception with the glass dance floor over the pool.

Agustina inspected the glass with the lipstick. You can tell this because afterwards she threw out the ice. And in the second close-up of the glasses, the glass with the lipstick is missing the ice.

(I'm looking at my favorite scenes a second time, so I paid more attention.)

Aleta

Anon 10:41: Welcome.

Vivi: I missed that about Cam calling Rafa and Aaron Viviana’s “Vivianitos. How cute.

If Nat is pregnant and Dio forces the match, I think it will be to get an “in” into La B.and the wealthy Albarran family

Which Hissadora won't like because she doesn't want to share those ill-gotten gains with El Diablo.

F**k with the devil and you'll get burned, Hissadora!

ok. all done and up now.

Does anybody else think that Viviana's hair looked so much better in this episode?

And if Augustina can recognize someone's perfume I'm willing to bet that she will ultimately smell it on El Diablo.

Augustina actually mentioned to Dionicio that one of the glasses had "labial" (lipstick).

UA: I agree. I think Viviana's hair looks nicer in the softer curls.

Aleta

Highpoints:

Mariano offers to help Cam and Dan re: the bulls and a job for her.
Flamenco music.

Padre brings Rosario to Cam/Dan to tell her story.
We get a little more insight into Miriam and Dante.
The LMQ branch of the Scooby Gang is on the job to thwart Isa.
Cam/Dan kick Isa off the ranch.
Isa finds out Rosario is Al’s mother.
Gussie gets a few good digs in.
Amanda finally tells Nat who her father is.
Rosario tells her story to Sherlock Juarez.
Leo on the road to getting his revenge (his revenge is our revenge as long as he steers clear of the Scoobies, especially Luz).
Dio is not happy about Isa being kicked off the ranch.
The incriminating letters/pictures remain at LMQ.
LMQ celebrates its safety from evil hands.
Cam/Dan decide on a wedding date.
Isa calls Cayetano “weeping” about her losing LMQ (while flipping through a magazine).
Pablo gives Luz the happy news about LMQ.
Estevez tells Dio what’s what.
Juarez is going to look deeper into Isa.
No charges on Dan. He’s free!!
CME MOMENT!!!
HIPOLITO IS IN TOWN!!!!
Luz worries for her mother re: love.
Dorotea reminds Luz that Piedad deserves to be happy. Dorotea is very cool.
Cam tells Gussie, in no uncertain terms, that the wedding is on.
Dio’s not happy about Cam/Dan’s upcoming nuptials.
Isa mocking Cayetano.
Dan asks Amanda to stand in place for his mother at the wedding.
Nice party at LMQ.
Nice girly moment as Luz prepares for her wedding.
Tolentino gets something to be happy about.
ISA HAS NO CHANCE OF GETTING LMQ BACK.
Isa continues to lead Cayetano by the nose (this probably should be a low point, but I’m enjoying this too much to put it there).
Rocio shows up at the wedding (granted incognito).
Luz and Pablo’s wedding goes off without a hitch.
Vivi blows off Iago.
Dorotea and Eleutario are novios.
Aaron asks Nat to dance. Hmmmmm.
Piedad and Hipolito are novios.
Dante and Teresa make a little progress and are returning to town.
Nat tells Iago she wants to go public and he refuses. Now maybe she’ll get a clue.

Low Points:

Dio is especially cruel to Gussie when she tells him about Xi (and Al) being murdered.
Isa prepares to burn all Monterde family reminders.
Abe is keeping the Chile Scoobies from getting info on Miriam.
Dan’s behaviour towards Rosario.
Waiting for freakin’ ever for Os to show up at Cam/Dan’s with the MOST IMPORTANT DOCUMENT IN THE WORLD!
Nat does not take the news about Dio well.
Padre lets Rosario turn herself in alone. Badly done, Padre.
Iago being an ass to Nat after she learns about her father.
Gussie is a buzz kill—and a bit of a hypocrite re: Cam’s and Dan’s decision to marry soon.
Gussie still defends Dio even after his treatment of her. She still thinks Dio is a dios.
Abraham is calling Dio?!
Rosario goes to jail.
Dio and Isa doing it on the desk. Ewww!
Dio lies to Nat about his relationship with her mother.
Poor Nat is torn up about her situation.
Cayetano disrespecting his wife in front of their son.
Grown men teasing animals for sport.
Isa and Cayetano kiss.
Nat doesn’t trust Amanda.
Rocio’s men advice to little Ana.
Iago flirts with Vivi because, as we all know, he’s God’s gift, etc.
Isa finds a letter that is going to rock Pablo’s world.
Isa and Dio make out—again! Double ewww!!
Iago treats Nat like crap at the wedding.
Pablo has to “force” his father to acknowledge his wife.
Cayetano is barely civil to Luz. What a word that rhymes with ick.
Dio does that typical male thing, telling Gussie she’s paranoid when she accuses him of entertaining Isa.
Isa gives the damning letter to Cayetano (on this list for Pablo’s sake—don’t care about Cayetano or Rocio).

Looks like they're blending her real hair into the extensions better. And her blowing off Yago the way she did gives her big points.

As much as I don't want Natalia to be pregnant, I'm worries if it was actually Luzma's. Seems a girl, coming this far from the end of the show, might give them excuse to kill off Luzma and have Pablo keep the baby in her memory. Must remember that they don't do things the normal way and maybe everything will be just fine.

Maybe this is what new girl is for. SHE'S the mother and this is all to throw us off track for the weekend. Nice trick, writers.

Kelly

Thank you, Jardinera, for an excellent recap!

A few favorite bits:

“Well, wait a bit, cuz after all, this is a telenovela and anything is possible, Big Boy!”

“… our felonious couple then celebrate with a lascivious toast to themselves and (what we believe leads to) a libidinous romp in Dionisio’s lair.”

Yummers! I spied molé at the wedding dinner!

I love to see the TN weddings, but then I love weddings in real life as well. I did notice a funny little production flub – when Dan sits down after giving away Luzma, he is on Camila’s right. When she leans her head on his shoulder and poor triste Mariano sees them, Dan is on her left. Then a few seconds later there is an overhead shot from the back of the church, and he is back on her right. Maybe the two lovebirds were actually tumbling over each other in church? ;)

I don’t hate or feel that I can’t bear Augustina. She’s a fool, and like the other foolish characters, I just feel sorry for her and a bit impatient. Like a lot of people, she lacks the skills and perhaps the maturity that would help her make better decisions and have a happier life. If I hated everyone like that who I came across, I would be doing a whole lotta hating. I do like the characters like Augustina who are a realistic mixture of good and incompetence which gives them some depth. I save my hating for the truly evil ones. Like Isadora. Hissssssss.

Poor Nat. She’s in a downward spiral. While I am very glad to see her dump Yago, she really doesn’t need more emotional distress right now. I don’t see prospects for her and Aaron; I think he just asked her to dance and the writers just wanted us to see how Yago was ignoring her and how dejected she was. Loved to see Vivi brush off that creep.

I liked Vivi’s hairdo a lot, but I think hair belongs under a bridal veil, not on top of it. Loved Camila’s dress.

Thanks for the recap Jardinera, both parts.
I hope Natalia doesn't back down on her threat to end it with Yago. But I think there will be a few more sweet talks in her future before they are done.

It's true that the ones who are good at lying always know to turn the accusations around and even try to make the accuser think they are losing their marbles or are just insanely paranoid, as Dion does repeatedly to Aggie.

Aaron asking Nat to dance was what a nice guy would do when he saw a girl alone at a wedding. I think if Ileana had been alone he would have asked her also, even though he wouldn't know the kind of person she is. Aaron is simply a kind, considerate and truly nice man. It was in keeping with his character. Kudos to the director, or to the actor if it was an "ad lib." Of course, if it WAS an ad lib, the reactions (Cami/Dan/Rafa) would also be adlibs. I wouldn't put it beyond this cast.

Augustina had better get a clue or she will lose Camila sooner or later.

Someone has to find proof of El Diablo's multiplicity or Amanda will lose Natalia.

Anon 5:55: I think you're right about Aaron. I can see him being the kindly, bachelor uncle to all the little babies that are going to be born to the Scoobies.

Did anyone else cringe when Luz walked across the courtyard to the church with her beautiful dress dragging on the wet stones.?

Thanks so much for the recap Jardinera. Cayatonto's stupidity frightens me b/c not only is he at risk but his family as well.

Nanette - thanks for the list. I am really concerned about Nat's downward spiral and poor decision making. I think she'll be OK by the end of the TN, but she going to go through a lot of hurt on quite a few levels for a while.

Karen: you're welcome. Poor Nat. I know I shouldn't be irritated by her getting every message possible that Iago is no prince charming and still hanging on to hope. Haven't we all done that? I know I have--though the guys weren't skunks like Iago. Just were no longer interested.

This comment has been removed by the author.

Meant "Yago".

Anon207--Hospital scenes will soon appear on Operation Shine the Light.

We forgot little Ana, who had an appendectomy.

Jardinera--Wonderful recap. Lots of exquisite turns of phrase--as we have come to expect from you. Thank you mucho.

The best is the part of the title: El Cozened Codger de Cuckolded Cayatonto
but also
The old fart’n fool de Cayatonto
and
El Vejestorio (the old fartcicle)
and
Cara de momentary anger and I-knew-it! de Cayatano
and
Cara de gritting dentures de Cayatano

Too bad I'm working on Alonso-isms, Cayetano offers some excellent new images.

Thanks, y'all. Had family fly in from frosty Boston area this weekend.

Glad you stopped by and had such a good time with these threads!

I'm wondering when las ultimas will begin...Is that a new show in the 7pm Eastern slot kicking out the current Victoria Ruffo tn? Or is it a new novela? Can't tell.

Porque el amor manda with Fernando Colunga, sigh, follows Por ella soy Eva.

Jardinera - thanks for all the detail and vocab. My favorite name: "El Yak-ass de Yago."

Jardinera, belated thanks for the great recap. It had all your delightful verbal virtuosity and snark, as well as some very helpful vocab. Most of my favorite pieces have already been cited, but in addition I enjoyed "Rocio instructs her granddaughter that it’s far better to marry a wealthy man with looks than an ugly poor man. (Works for me!)" and I also appreciated your remark to Nat: "(Word up! Girlie, this is Luzma and Pablo’s big day, remember?)"

Speaking of Nat, I too feared that she may be preggars, but I'm hoping that the writers are simply playing with us. ¡Ojalá!

Something tells me that the young Rocio could find any wealthy man handsome and any poor one ugly.

Jardinera, Your clever, funny, smart recap -- full of great one-liners -- inspired me to watch again a few key scenes last night.

First time around I had missed the handsome and mannerly Daniel bidding Amanada good-bye at the close of the wedding by saying to her: "mas bella cada dia". That could warm your heart! Wow!

She is a kind of mother-surrogate for him and he treats her so kindly and in such a gallant way.

I liked it also that Ossie pulled Amanda away from following Natalia. It was a wise and caring move, even if lots of troubles seem to lie ahead for Natalia.

I don't think Osvaldo has ever been married, but seems to have a good instinct for this situation. I supposed a career in law can do that, too.

This is a lesson Natalia has to learn the hard way no matter how hard it will be for Amanda to watch.

BTW, someone mentioned Miriam's parents before; they died before the beginning of the story. Miriam only has Abraham as family.

Osvaldo is the father that Nat is pining for.

That's a good call.

Jardinera- Bien hecho! You had more sweet than sour this episode, but you still gave us plenty of funny lines.

Because this episode was so focused on love, aside from the seeds of discord Isa is sowing in the Alberran household, I also noticed so many of the little nice moments in this episode—the “Vivianitos” line I mentioned before; Cami getting a matchmaker gleam in her eye when Aaron asked Nat to dance (Anon 5:55 I agree that it was just Aaron being the nice man he is); Pablo teasing Mariano about Ana thinking of her future marriage to Roman when she said grandma won’t be coming to her wedding either; Osvaldo’s very manly, and wise grab of Amanda’s arm to prevent her from going after Nat; seeing Pablo and Luzma so happy; Pablo making Cayetano acknowledge Luzma; all the happy couples (Dan-Cam, Piedad-Hip, Dorotea-Eluterio, Vivi-Rafa); Dan complimenting Amanda.

So much love and happiness can only mean one thing…the crap is about to hit the fan. :)

Vivi: I was reading your nice little rundown of the love in the air. And then this:

"So much love and happiness can only mean one thing…the crap is about to hit the fan. :)"

You are so right. Bummer!!

One of the things I really like about Daniel is how he treats the women in his life.

Nanette- Yes. Dan is very chivalrous and protective of the women in his life. He now has two little sisters (Luzma and Nat), a surrogate mother (Amanda), a mother-in-law who hates him, yet he protects (Gussy), and of course, his woman (Cami). He has his hands full protecting all his women from Dio, Leon, and Isa. And of course his real sister (Xi) was killed by Isa before he could develop any protective feelings for her. Had he had more time with her, I think he would have even tried to protect her (even from herself), like he does with Gussy.

Dan was also very protective of Vivi against Bruno, but has now graciously stepped back to allow Rafa to do any protecting necessary. :-)

They just don't make real men like this.

Operation Shine the Light has been updated. The Mix 'n Match Pairs 'n Spares is cute (I added Couple Coupling who don't intend to be a Couple: Dionisio and Isadora) and the hospital scenes.

We might have had two more if they had taken Roman to the hospital after his fall down a 14' deep silo (if Mariano is about 6', and he had to repel down, it had to be at least 12-14' deep). Let's just say they should have taken him to the hospital. When Daniel re-opened his wound struggling with Bruno he would have been taken to the hospital had Camila not been a vet and been willing to stitch him closed again.

Should we count the time Camila went in to get the doctor's statement on Alonso's "problemita" and when Dan went to turn in the hair samples for DNA testing?
