Amor Bravío #117 (Uni 112) Thu 1/31/13 Amor Revivido

Teresa, in bizarre fringed boots, walks through some fields with Aaron, giving him an update.  She's having Juarez put together the info about the case against Dionisio and she'll take that back to Chile with her and see what she can do from there.  She really doesn't want to leave, though, since she's just found an old lovah and she's going to do whatever she can to get him back.  Aaron, sagely, tells her love has to be a 2-way-street or there's no point.  Well, Teresa thinks she and "he" just got off track is all.

Isadora lets Cayetano put a ring on it. He says he's too old to wait, so he's jumping her now, before the Viagra isn't enough.  Isadora tells him she fell in love with him at first sight, she luuuurves older guys cause they know how they like it, and she only held back before because he was married, cause she's not a homewrecker.  Cayetano gives her points for honesty. She agrees to marry him as soon as he's officially divorced, but she'd rather get married on the sly so his sons don't talk him out of it.  Cayetano is willing to do it, not that he's ever going to let anyone get between them.  Yuck, yuck, yuck!  I was so hoping that was some bizarre dream sequence or Isadora's fantasy.

Daniel and Camila continue their honeymoon, checking out a romantic waterfall and making out like teenagers.  Isn't anybody going in the water?  What's up with that?

Mariano texts Pablo his undying bro-love.  Ana wants to go see Roman (boy, her puppy has really grown!) and Mariano agrees to have one of the ranch hands take her into town. Ana asks if Mariano ever loved anyone more than he loved her mom, but she won't explain why she's asking.  Mariano says he married her mother because he loved her and the woman she saw yesterday was just a friend.

Rafael makes plans to pick up the books for the community center.  Vivi is happy because she knows Roman will be happy to have a reading workshop.  Rafael thinks she's getting really attached to Roman. He's worried she'll miss him when he gets adopted.  Vivi doesn't think anyone will adopt him, since people usually want to adopt babies.  "But what if someone like you comes along and adopts him?"  Vivi looks worried.

More Daniel and Camila at the waterfall.  More smooching.

Natalia's having some nausea lately. Oh, how very odd.  *cough* preggers *cough*  Amanda gives her some anise tea to drink, then convinces her to go see the doctor.

Pablo is deep in a funk.  He's very, very funky.  And he's now identifying with Luzma's baby, who will have to go through the pain of knowing its parents aren't its genetic material donors.  Pablo doesn't feel like he even belongs in the big house, what with Agustina's attitude.  And it's not about blood.  He'd like to leave the ranch, maybe see if Camila will rent them the house in town.  Luzma agrees.

Ana fills Roman in on this Teresa skank who's trying to get with her dad and didn't like her mom.  She doesn't know what she'll do if her dad starts dating Teresa, but she'd rather go live with anyone else than have to live with that skank who didn't want her parents to get married.  That's right, Teresa…it's on now!

Pablo visits his dad's office to say goodbye.  He's not leaving town or anything, but he's come to renounce his position as favorite son.  He doesn't want to see Cayetano lose a son who actually does share his genetic material.  Pablo's grateful to Cayetano for being the bestest dad ever.  Cayetano would rather that no one had found out and that nothing would change, but it's too late for that.  Pablo doesn't want to stick around and be a reminder of his mom's unfaithfulness.  Awww, that Pablo.  He's too good for his own good.

Daniel and Camila hang out by the fire pit in their bathrobes.  Daniel offers a toast/thanks for Camila.  She says if he feels like he owes something to life, then the best payback is loving each other.  Camila jumps him so they can get right on that.

Teresa mopes over a picture of her with Mariano and says she's never stopped loving him.  Teresa, if you want me to keep liking you, this weird stalkery behavior needs to stop.

Mariano leaves a message on Pablo's voicemail to tell him how sorry he is.  Then he muses about how he misses Camila.

Camila is all snuggled up with Daniel, wishing they didn't have to go back home yet.  Seriously, people, I can't even enjoy this after what the promo monkeys keep showing!  "I'm so happy by your side."  "This is only the beginning of a life together." "That's what I want, to always be in your heart and lose myself."  "There you are, and you're not lost--I've got my eye on you!"  "What about that debt?"  "We'd better keep paying."

And the very next day, they're back at the ranch.  Daniel insists on opening the truck's door for Camila to get out.  Agustina actually looks happy to see them.  Dionisio smarms about the moments they spent together.  Pablo comes to greet them.  Everyone is surprised to see Camila and Daniel so soon.  Camila welcomes Pablo to the family, then says she's going to go change clothes and she'll be right back.  Pablo, Dionisio, and Agustina smile at each other awkwardly.

Snotty bitch's lawyer goes to tell her that Cayetano is offering alimony and the house in Mexico that was under her name anyway.  As far as the other properties, she wants half, but he no longer has any property in his name.  All his property is now in Isadora's name.

Daniel tells Pablo that he and Camila want to give him part of the ranch.  "You're the only direct descendant…it belongs most to you."  Pablo's not comfortable with that and he and Luzma had the plan they wanted to talk about.  Camila agrees, but she'd like to visit with Luzma first.  She bought her a few maternity outfits.  Rodolfo notices a cab from the airport coming up the drive.  Camila and Daniel walk out to greet their visitor.  A manicured, be-ringed hand reaches for the handle.  And it's frickin' Miriam!  Damnit!  Daniel starts walking towards her and pulls his hand out of Camila's.  Miriam seems as surprised to see him as he is to see her.  He looks back at Camila, then keeps walking to Miriam as Camila is impactadissima and that jackass Dionisio smirks.  Miriam hugs and kisses Daniel while he just stands there in shock…then it starts to look like he's kissing her back.  Frickin' Abraham has some serious 'splaining to do!

Daniel's still not sure he's seeing her.  "Of course I'm alive!"  Abraham comes up and tries to make small talk.  Seriously, dude, "How are you?"  Um, his dead wife just walked out of a cab and you're going to start with "How are you?"  How about "Yeah, man, I'm a douche and I totally lied about her being dead, but I can explain!"?  How about getting out of the cab FIRST and making the explanations before your allegedly-dead sister makes her appearance?  How about not having been a douche and lied in the first place?  Wanker!  Miriam starts walking back to the cab as Abraham gets close enough to lower his voice and tell Daniel that he'll never believe this story, but if he could just play along…play along?!  Camila asks for an explanation, but Daniel needs one too.  "This is Miriam's brother and I have no idea what he's doing here."  Abraham begs again for Daniel to play along.  "When she came out of the coma, the first thing she did was ask about you."  Daniel remembers Abraham telling him that Miriam was dead.  He reminds him of that.  "I told you we didn't know when she would wake up or when she would recover completely!"  No, cause I just saw the flashback and you said "dead!"  "If we're here it's because as soon as she opened her eyes, she asked for you. Miriam is very frail!  The doctors forbid her from receiving any news that would upset her or cause stress, do you understand?!"  Miriam walks up with a six month old baby and a nurse, asking Daniel if he wants to meet his daughter.  Could the casting people at least TRY to cast infants for infant roles?!  She was supposed to be due, what, a week ago?  Camila's just wrecked.  Daniel's not doing much better.  He picks up the baby, though.  This sucks!

Snotty Bitch calls Mariano to tell him that all of Cayetano's property, including Buenaventura, is now in Isadora's name. Mariano tells her to calm down.  Mariano agrees there's no reason for the land to be in Isadora's hands. He's hoping there's some explanation for this.  She's convinced Isadora is taking advantage of his dad.  "You're talking like he's a child or not right in the head or has no will of his own."  No, Mariano, just a terminal case of "cogito con penis ergo DUMBASS!"  She begs him to stop his dad's craziness.

Agustina comes up, asking what's going on.  Miriam named the baby after Daniel's mom…Agatha.  She notices his demeanor, but he says he just didn't think he'd see her or his daughter ever again.  "I knew you thought I'd never come out of the coma, but here I am!"  She asks Abraham how Miriam came out of the coma.  Abraham asks if they can go inside, since Miriam is still delicate.  Daniel tells them to go on in, as he stands there, in shock, looking like he's just seen his dead wife resurrected and he doesn't know how to explain it to his current wife or her family.

Cayetano calls his lawyer and finds out that Snotty Bitch probably knows about the trick he pulled with the property.  He thinks it should leave her with no choice but to accept his offer, but as the lawyer tells him, she's no pushover.  "Yeah, tell it to me…I was married to her!"  The lawyer counsels waiting.  "Until then, she won't get any money, which will put pressure on her.  In the meantime, we'll deposit her alimony into a trust so the judge can see that you're in compliance."  Cayetano doesn't want to wait that long.  The lawyer thinks that since Cayetano's the one with the money, he can wait her out.  "Tell her if she doesn't sign, she'll get nothing."  "But how long after she signs will I be divorced?"  The lawyer tells him it will just be a few days, since he got a judge buddy of his to agree to do it right away.  Cayetano's in a big hurry to be divorced already.  Yeah, dude, we get it.

Abraham and Daniel lead Miriam into the living room.  She insists on having Daniel sit next to her.  He still has no idea what the hell is going on. Miriam says having the baby prematurely woke her up…it was a miracle!  Yay?  Abraham tells her to keep calm, like she agreed to.  "I already explained to  Miriam that you were by her side through the coma and the pregnancy, but since you didn't know when she was going to wake up, you came to Mexico to collect your inheritance."  Miriam is impressed with the ranch.  "Is this yours?  Was this your inheritance?"  Daniel numbly says it's his and Camila's. "Camila?  Oh, right, the other heir."  Camila agrees that yes, she's "the other heir."  Miriam apologizes for not introducing herself before.  "I see you gave my husband a warm welcome.  He seems like a part of the place."  Agustina's eyes are bugging out as she says "He's adapted so well, it's like he's part of the family.  I'm Agustina, Camila's mother.  And this is my husband, Dionisio Ferrer."  Dionisio is the only one who has said so far that it's a pleasure to meet Miriam.  Everyone else is sticking to "hello."  Miriam thanks everyone for welcoming her husband into their home.  She asks if Pablo is Camila's brother and Camila says he's her cousin and he lives there with his wife, Luz Maria.  "I'm so glad to meet you all.  Ever since I came out of the coma, I've been wondering about the place where Daniel was and the people who were around him.  This is such a marvelous place and you're all so lovely."  Abraham asks for a glass of water and some tea so Miriam can take her medicine.  Camila rushes to get them, telling Daniel to stay with his wife.  Agustina excuses herself to follow Camila.  Pablo looks like he feels sorry for all of them.

In an awkward cut, we go immediately to Daniel smooching on the baby, then commercials.

In the kitchen, Camila takes a moment to break down by the fridge.  Agustina comes in, shocked that Miriam is alive.  Camila doesn't understand a damn thing.  Agustina tells her their marriage isn't valid if his first wife is still alive.  Camila is upset that Abraham told Daniel that Miriam was dead and now here she is, with a baby, no less!  Agustina wonders if maybe Daniel lied. "Oh, please!  You saw him!  He's as shocked as the rest of us!  We were all so sure she was dead!  Wasn't Dionisio the one who told us she was dead first?"  Agustina agrees that he was.  Camila has also figured out that Miriam also has no clue what's been going on. She didn't know Daniel was in jail.  Agustina figures they lied to her since she was so delicate.  Camila is frustrated that it's back to lies again.  She realizes Miriam is weak, she just came out of a coma, and Abraham is feeding Daniel the info he needs to keep up the lie, but "It's not fair!  It's a lie and we don't deserve it!"  Agustina is worried about what will happen when Miriam finds out that her husband is also Camila's husband.  "I'm begging you, mom, don't get involved!  Don't tell her anything.  Let Daniel and I fix this. I promise we'll fix this."  Agustina  agrees, telling Camila to fix it for herself, because she doesn't think Camila can stand to share Daniel with Miriam.  "We'll figure out it," Camila keeps saying.  Agustina was sure Daniel would hurt her.  Camila says he's not making her suffer and she loves him and she doesn't want to let him go.

Miriam is convinced that whenever she talked about Daniel, Agatha would open her eyes wider and look around for him.  "She must have gotten used to hearing your voice when you were with me at the hospital."  Abraham keeps going with the "It was so important to Daniel to be there for you throughout the entire pregnancy."  Can we just have a random bull stampede through the living room and take out Abraham, like, NOW?!  Like, RIGHT NOW?!  Daniel asks how they found him and why they didn't call him before traveling all this way.  Abraham says they couldn't find him because Daniel "forgot" to give him the address before he left Chile.  Miriam didn't want to wait anymore.  She couldn't remember the name of the ranch, but she remembered that his mom used to visit Aculco.  Later, Miriam remembered the name "La Malquerida," and made Abraham bring her, since she was trying to find him for a whole month.  Daniel looks at Abraham and says, "How strange, because I tried to find you in Chile, but I couldn't.  It was like you had disappeared."  Abraham looks panicked as Miriam says "Disappeared?  No, he hasn't left my side since the baby was born.  He even took time off from his job with the police to be with me all the time."  Abraham and Dionisio share a look.

Camila breaks the clay pot and apologizes to her mother.  "I can't go back in there.  You help Daniel get Miriam and her brother settled.  I can't kick them out, I can't tell them the truth, what are we going to do?"  Agustina agrees to do it.  Camila starts crying again, saying it's going to be hell that they don't know she's married to Daniel.  "But this woman just got out of a coma.  She doesn't know anything.  And I don't have the heart to make her confront the truth.  That's up to Daniel and her brother, right?"  Agustina agrees that's their job.  Camila asks her mom to take the tea and the water in and tell Daniel that she'll be in the cabin.  Agustina asks Dorotea to bring a tea and a glass of water to the living room.

Daniel says he didn't know how long Abraham was going to be off of work.  Baby Agatha makes a poopie, so Miriam hands her off to Caridad, the nurse, who asks where she can change her.  I vote on the desk in the office, since Dionisio's so fond of spending time there.  Pablo offers to show her to a guest room.  Dorotea brings in the tea and water.  Dionisio invites Abraham to have a drink with him in his study so Daniel and Miriam can catch up.  Abraham awkwardly reminds Daniel that Miriam can't get any really big, bad news. Miriam tells him to back off already…"If anyone knows how to take good care of me, it's my Daniel."  Abraham tells Daniel they'll talk later.  "You bet we'll be talking later, you dipshit."  Oh, sorry, that was Mr. 5ft's response, not Daniel's.  Close enough.  Daniel gets up and sits on the coffee table to face Miriam.  He can't believe she's there.  "You have no idea how I feel.  Just to think you might have died."  Miriam waves that away, saying she has too many reasons to leave, so her soul just wouldn't go. "Do you know what happened to that man who broke into our apartment to rob us? Abraham hasn't wanted to tell me anything about it.  He says I should forget it, but I can't.  Sometimes I wake up dreaming about that moment."  Daniel tells her to calm down and not be upset. "We'll have time to talk about everything." Miriam's feeling so good having him with her again.  "I love you."  "You don't know how much happiness it gives me to see you and my daughter. To know that you're well."

Tomorrow: the news spreads, Daniel takes a therapeutic shower.

I knew it! I knew it! I knew it! I knew it! Ugh!

I can't believe after months of boring Thursday nights, the Telenovela Gods drop this one in my lap. I hope I did it justice, but if not, my only excuse is I'm just as shocked as pretty much everyone but frickin' Abraham, who needs a good swift kick in the pants!

Crap!!!!!!!!

I am shocked. I really did think Miriam was dead and for her to appear alive like that, really shocked me. I really hate seeing Daniel & Camila split up just like that. This proves Abraham lied the entire time about Miriam's death. Can't wait to see what happens next. Hopefully, Daniel will have the courage to tell Miriam the truth about what happened, and hopefully she won't be upset when she learns the truth about him and Camila.

As for Abraham, it seems he's being more of a jackass than I imagined. He needs to be kicked so hard in the face that his teeth will fall out, especially since he is now Dionisio's accomplice.

I really don't know if Camila will have the courage to tell Miriam everything. I hope she does, and then she and Daniel can rat Abraham out.

5 ft. Latina:

I watched the first few episodes of this and thereafter, a few minutes here and there so I can't really comment too much on the story except that I thought Miriam died long ago and am totally confused as to how she has been miraculously resurrected.

That aside, I still love your recaps: "old lovah", "lets Cayetano put a ring on it" and "undying bro-love" were only a few excellent lines of many. I'm glad Mr. 5 ft. is still chiming in - I miss reading about his take on things...

Don't know how this hot mess will work out but as you noted, you got a doozy of an episode!

Diana

Kat- Well, you got a doozy of an episode, but you managed to hold it together, even through your shock, and give us a stellar recap. Gracias.

I think that happy getting out of the truck post-honeymoon scene is last happy scene we'll see of our main couple in a long time. They played the scene with Miriam emerging from the taxi well-- Dan in total shock, and Cami totally devastated.

Nanette- "Crap!!!!!" Ditto.

Anon 6:41- "hopefully she won't be upset when she learns the truth about him and Camila." Uhm...I think it's pretty much a guarantee that Miriam will be upset to learn that her husband, the love of her life, the father of her child, fell in love with and married someone else in the months that she was fighting for her life in a coma.

It's not Camila's or Gussy's place to tell Miriam the truth. It's Dan's job/place, and it needs to be done as soon as possible.

ITA that someone (Dan) needs to knock the teeth out of Abe's head.

5 ft. - Thanks very much. A thorough, witty recap that captures the horror of the feared encuentro.

The content: double wow.

First, SN was sooo excellent in the scene with Agustina in the kitchen. You can really feel the pain, frustration and confusion.

And, Miriam is as lovely as before, and now a bit ethereal in her post-coma state. She's not the enemy in any way, which makes all of this even harder to take. Her brother, looking spiffier with the beard, is the enemy, along with his silent buddy Dio.

No words for Cayetano's idiocy. Lots of other plot developments shaking. Pobre de Natalia!

Thanks for the excellent recap!!!!!!! Dan ... so sad, he told Miriam (in heaven) that she (her memory) would be with him forever. Then he moved on to love Camila in the present. Now he's in a time warp. Past and present have collided, and according to the story, past can't be told about what's really happening in the present. So Yago could come onto the scene now and be the bean spiller on behalf of everyone.

Camila needs Vivi stat!

Teresa and .... drumroll .... Aaron? I like that idea better than having her moon over Mariano. Mariano can wait for new girl's mom, or Vivi's visiting cousin, or someone else who hasn't come yet (yes, I'm making people up.)

Thanks again 5ft!!!!

Things I liked this episode:
- The last of the honeymoon (dreading/knowing the happiness was coming to an end).
- The way Cami greeted Pablo as her cousin, welcoming him to the family, and gave him a big hug and kiss.
- The way Pablo physically supported Camila in the courtyard as Dan cuddled with his baby and Miriam, and again in the house.
- Dan head to head with baby Agatha as she played with his charro tie.

We all know what's coming with Nat, but I appreciate the writers not giving her a sudden fainting spell to announce her pregnancy. I forgive the fainting spell that Luzma had because those circumstances were totally different and she had just been told in an open police office, in front of the whole town, that she had been impregnanted by her rapist uncle. That fainting spell was more about shock and horror than pregnancy.

Now, the question is, will Cami turn up pregnant during all this mess with Miriam?

It will also be interesting to see how Rafa will play into this since he was friends with Dan and Miriam as a couple.

Vivi, Cam and Dan have had enough activity, so often that if she isn't pregnant, then it could be an infertility issue, which could introduce another heavy plotline.

It sure didn't take long for Gussy to start with the "I told you sos", did it. I mean really Gussy? "I knew that man would make you suffer." As Cami cries in the corner. Then to accuse Dan of lying about Miriam's death! I was glad Cami's brain was still functioning at a high level and she immediately pointed out that it was Dio who first brought them the news of Miriam's death.

Thanks so much for the recap, 5 ft. I miss so much. I totally missed that Abraham was guiding a lie to protect Miriam. Right now, I bounce between wanting to punch him and feeling sorry for him, as his concern for his sister caused this mess. Wouldn't it be an interesting story line to have evidence he collected from the shooting to help bring Dio's downfall when he finds out what a criminal Dio is.

I really need to see one of the dummies, snotties, or one of the dangerous characters get their just desserts pretty soon. I know that there are too many episodes left, but there are enough of them that their endings could be spread out a bit, right? How about Brat-Girl? Of course the ending she deserves is that yuck Yago. They are a good match of sleeze bags.

Cindy

Kat, I don’t know how you pull yourself together after this episode to give us such an excellent recap, but you did it!

I literally convulsed with pain watching this episode—it happened the first time around—I thought I overcame it since I’ve already seen it—but last night was equally the same. The good thing about last night is that it was on Thursday so we have tonight and a whole weekend to get over the dolor. This episode was originally aired on a Tuesday—so you guys could imagine going through three more days before taking a respite to assimilate …

Heartfelt hugs to Cam, Dan & Miriam; they are all victims …

Augustonta has no redeemable qualities in my books … There’s a special hell for Dionisio with his gleeful enjoyment with the current event… Pablo is becoming a good cousin…

Vivi; I laughed at this “It’s Dan’s job/place, and it needs to be done as soon as possible.”….

Myo-

Anonymous, can we keep U.S. politics out of this forum?

Kat, great work. This was a heavy episode.

I am absolutely certain that Camila is pregnant. We've been down this road before. Predicting now that she will insist that Daniel stay with delicate Miriam because she (Camila) can handle single motherhood. This is the kind of heroine martyrdom I hate in these stories.

What gets me is how Miriam went from the strong woman she was before the shooting to being so delicate she has to be protected from the truth. I'm not buying that. It isn't believable and it feels like a writers' device to create an untenable situation for Daniel and Camila.

I will buy that she has occasional nightmares about the shooting; anyone would. What I think happened is that she woke up from the coma and told Abe what and how it happened. He expunged the record of Daniel's arrest because he realized he was wrong about Daniel's responsibility for the shooting. He could be responsible for her current mental state because of the lies he was feeding her so he would not have to admit that he had committed an abuse of authority.

This does not mean that he has given up the idea that Daniel is greedy. That is what El Diablo will capitalize on. Also that he has no criminal record in Chile.

Daniel has every reason not to trust Abe about anything, which is a further impediment to the pursuit of justice. Abe is a detective who -- if he were completely unbiased -- could figure El Diablo out and solve the situation. Even without his backstory, however, he still might not leave Miriam, Daniel, and Camila to work out their future.

I hate when people drop by w/o calling 1st.

Dios mio, even though I knew it was coming, I was impactada & had tears. The tears started when Dan pulled his hand from Cam & looked back at her. We know how it will end up, but how will it arrive to the expected conclusion? Miriam & Camila have suffered so much.

They all played their rolls perfectly, especially Camila. Daniel in shock, supportive Pablo, typical mom Augustina, and Dionicio & Abe that you want to kill (toothless is not good enough). Even Dorothea when she delivered the tea & water.

Only one funny in the whole ep, Augustina "Daniel is like one of the family".

Typical mom, "you can't share Daniel & do you think he lied", all the while Camila's insides are being ripped out.

Pablo probably thinks his problems are small compared to this.

That fool Cayetano, waiting with his putz in his hand. He deserves everything he gets from Iz, except that the hijos don't. Is there any hope for Yago?

You sure got a duzzy of an ep 5ft, brilliant & with Mr. 5ft's additions.

Oh. My. Lord. What an episode! They didn't even get one day home before everything started hitting the fan!

5ft: That was the BEST recap! I was cracking up, not only because you are hilarious, but also because so often it was like you took the thoughts right out of my head and then made them funny!

Some fave lines: " He says he's too old to wait, so he's jumping her now, before the Viagra isn't enough." "Pablo is deep in a funk. He's very, very funky." "she'd rather go live with anyone else than have to live with that skank who didn't want her parents to get married. That's right, Teresa…it's on now!""Teresa, if you want me to keep liking you, this weird stalkery behavior needs to stop. " Okay, if I keep going, I will quote the whole thing. Point is: Golden Globe nomination for awesome recap!

Now, to thoughts:
Though I would have been wearing out the recap button if Daniel had gotten in the water, I think doing that at a tourist destination would be like everyone trying to bungee jump off the Golden Gate bridge or something.

I thought Mariano was leaving a message for his mom?

I've always assumed parents of newborns aren't up to having them surrounded by strangers and all lights, camera, action so that's why we get the adorable, chubby,months-old babies (she is SO CUTE!) I give AB points for trying to help that along by saying she was a preemie (with a presumably very healthy appetite).

OMG I am going to choke Abraham! I didn't think he was an incestuous creepola, but nonetheless AUGH!!!! To show up after what he did, and act like he's in the right?! "Play along!" "I said we didn't know if she's recover!" Um, you mean you didn't know if she'd recover enough to find out that you had Dan locked in prison without a trial, told him she was dead, and then he presumably died in an escape attempt that never would've happened if you hadn't had him locked up in the first place?!!! And now, without a phone call or anything, knowing he's married, you show up with both the dead wife and the baby?! Congrats Abe, you just earned yourself a place on the Anvil Express between Yago and Dio/Isa. May your anvil be large and heavy.

Wow, Kat. What a superb recap of a painful episodio. I'm racing to get to an appointment, but I did want to express my gratitude and awe for what you've done.

I usually like to call attention to some of my favorite recap lines, but in this case I'd probably have to quote just about the entire piece. But I especially loved your remark "Um, his dead wife just walked out of a cab and you're going to start with "How are you?"" and I also cheered when you wrote "Can we just have a random bull stampede through the living room and take out Abraham, like, NOW?! Like, RIGHT NOW?!" and ""You bet we'll be talking later, you dipshit." Oh, sorry, that was Mr. 5ft's response, not Daniel's."

Before I run off, I just want to ask that commenters identify themselves. If you can't be bothered to register or can't figure out the admittedly sometimes frustrating Blogger system, at least sign your name at the end of your posting. That way, we can figure out which "Anonymous" said what. You don't have to sign your real name, just make up a name and stick to it. ¿Por favor? Muchas gracias.

rldsaavLies and secrets multiplying and compounding each other. Mariam is so fragile that she can't handle the truth. Well, Cami has gotten her share of nookie so let Mariam get some while Dan figures out how to tell Mariam about his latest marriage. Problem is, Dan's got other problems he's got to work on first. Detective problems like working on the case against Dio and Isa. Niether Cami nor Mariam deserves this. Darnit, where's Yago when you need him?

Mariano is one sorry soul. We all know that the books says that when you talk to a child you should bend, sit, stoop to somehow get down on their level. They meant "eye level" Mariano, not crotch level as you have the tendency to do when you're talking to princess Ana. What real man would get on his knees to talk to an 11 year old?

Juanita - LOL, I came back just to quote those quotes too! Also, "Daniel tells them to go on in, as he stands there, in shock, looking like he's just seen his dead wife resurrected and he doesn't know how to explain it to his current wife or her family."

Man. Great, great, recap. Literally had me laughing out loud.

Thanks Kat for a terrific write up. I was anxiously awaiting clarification of several of the conversations and you did them all justice.

So much happened I'm speechless. Rather than ramble on, I'll tune in later when my thoughts are better organized.

Variopinta - yes, I too wonder if this situation will help Pablo recover from his own shocking news. How many people have a stake in this ranch now? Five?

ITA with everyone on Augustina's "I told you so"s. Seriously, woman, now? Now is when you think you should start in with this? Go ask your husband why he said Miriam was dead and leave Cami alone!

I think Vivi was more pensive than worried. Wonder if/how Rafa will get on board with the Ramon train (yeah, I think there's a Vivi/Ramon train).

Also, I don't know about you guys but I'm still seeing some Mariano/Miriam potential. Before I just connected them because they were leftovers, but now that Teresa's got an uphill battle with Ana, I don't know. But there is still the Dante/Miriam possibility...ah! I love this TN! I love that I don't know!

Natalia - dammit! I was hoping the wedding stomach-butterflies were a false alarm. Damn, damn, damn!

...Although...if the Nat pregnancy shakes down, I wonder if Caye will take the opportunity to say Pablo's five times the man you are! If he didn't already have my name, I would give it to him! Look how he's caring for his wife's child, while you can't be bothered to care for your gf and we all know you're going to be the peor de los peores when the pregnancy news hits.

Kat thanks for a wonderful recap under completely distressing circumstances. Though I haven't seen a lot of TN, I don't think I've ever seen this - we know Dan loves both women (in most triangles one person usually is only there b/c of his/her position). I loved your rant on Abe - "Seriously, dude, "How are you?" Um, his dead wife just walked out of a cab and you're going to start with "How are you?" How about "Yeah, man, I'm a douche and I totally lied about her being dead, but I can explain!"? ...." It summed up my frustration with him at the pain he was causing.

Vivi - I too was saddened and disgusted by Gussy's "comfort" to her daughter. She just needed to hug her daughter and NOT SPEAK.

UA - Though Miriam has just come out of a coma, remember the person saying she's delicate, Abe, is a liar and her supposed "condition" is to keep others from telling her the truth that exposes him as being a jerk.

HellaShelle - LOL and ITA - " Congrats Abe, you just earned yourself a place on the Anvil Express between Yago and Dio/Isa. May your anvil be large and heavy."

Why has Teresa suddenly become creepy and where is Dante?

I hope that when Daniel or Becerra finally gets the cell phone records they are updated to include the recent calls El Diablo made to Chile, which would disclose his prior contact with Abe.

Abe could be an overprotective brother, a total contrast to the predator Leoncerdo. Who will be an instrument of Hissadora's and El Diablo's downfalls.

Where is Dante? We need him now!

Dante is visiting the countryside while Cam & Dan were on their honeymoon.

Yeah, I wouldn't trust all that Abe says about Miriam's delicate mental condition either. She certainly looks like she's still recovering physically, as she's taking meds and seems to get tired easily. And maybe the docs did tell Abe that about her fragile mental condition (I would think they say this for anyone coming out of a long coma), but that doesn't mean this will be the case forever.

The big question is, what will Dan do? Is his love for Miriam completely buried, or will it be revived with her presence? Adding a baby to the mix (named after his mother) can certainly strengthen their bond. It's just a sh*tty situation all around for Dan, Cami and Miriam.

1. Abraham/Miriam/Dan:

I think Abraham is mentally cracking under the guilt of having railroaded Daniel into possible death. Remember, he didn't know that Daniel was still alive until Dionisio called him back and told him what was going on. I think Abraham felt perfectly justified in throwing Daniel in jail for trying to murder Miriam she woke up from her coma & told him what went down.

He couldn't very well tell Miriam a) I threw your husband in prison for trying to kill you; b) he escaped prison & jumped off a cliff to get away from my police force; c) he's probably dead.

And d) he compromised his police career over a personal vendetta that turned out to be a bunch of nothing.

2. Pablo/Cayetano/Yago:

Pablo knows that Cayetano loves him as a son and always will, but Yago's always going to be around to poison the well, & throw tantrums. Pablo & Cayetano's relationship doesn't have anything to do with Yago, but Pablo will always feel guilty about "robbing" Yago of Cayetano's love & affection, so he's going to stay away from Cayetano and that will deteriorate their relationship. Sad.

3. Augustina/Camila

Yes, Gussy did run to Camila's aid after the Miriam revelation but she couldn't help herself to tell Camila a version of "I told you so." So when Gussy gets her I TOLD YOU SO moment, I want to be sitting right there watching it, and hopefully it will be a public I TOLD YOU SO moment. Maybe FX can pop back up, tell her I TOLD YOU SO and pop right back out.

4. Daniel/Agatha/Miriam:

Either Miriam's going to have to get some strong news and die (which is unfair to the Miriam character... she didn't do anything wrong) or Daniel's going to have to stay with Miriam for the sake of Agatha. Or Miriam, Agatha & Abraham move to Mexico. I don't see Miriam & Agatha living in Chile while Daniel stays in Mexico. That's what FX did to him and he's not going to do that to his daughter.

Pobre de Camila & Pablo.

Wow, it's still early morning here and already 27 comments.
5FT, I agree with HelleShelle, this was the best recap. Fantastic job on a difficult stressful episode, and your humor helped immensely.

Abraham, shame on you. You tell Dan a humongous lie, and expect him to continue with more of your lies. Very bad. I will say that I am completely sick and tired of the TN nonsense that someone is too weak for the truth. They use this so much, even in this TN it was used before, but it's idiotic. I've seen the human body withstand so much more than being told an unhappy truth and live through it. Enough already. I hope Dan tells her very soon what the real deal is. Cam deserves it.

I finally figured out why those Albarran men seem to fall in love so quickly and want to seal the deal so quickly. You see, women are scarce around these parts, its' the country after all, and if they don't snag the woman quick, she will be gone and who knows when another one will come along.

I fear that all the Isadora investigations will be on hold for a while during all this Miriam mess.

I second UA's plea for the anonymouses to please sign in under a name, or sign your name at the end of your comment.

That's what I get for posting without a preview.

Karen, I can believe that Miriam's health was precarious at the time of the birth, but the baby is a few months old now. The Miriam we met at the beginning of the story wouldn't allow herself to be so weak for so long that Abe (or anyone else) could brainwash her so completely.

If Abe was trying to protect Miriam from Julian all this time, Daniel can close that book. Rafael saw Leoncerdo kill Julian (or depart from the crime scene after the gunshot) and Daniel identified the body later. Leoncerdo's motive for the crime had nothing to do with Daniel and Comandante Juarez made all the appropriate evidentiary connexions.

The proof that Daniel isn't greedy was his willingness to lose the ranch to save Camila's life. Somebody needs to tell Abe that.

Please sign your posts if you're not going to register. Someone else made that request before.

Thanks, Kat, for such an ideal recap of such a... well... pivotal and eventful episode. You always manage to crack me up, and you didn't disappoint. This time your rapier wit was sorely needed.

Nanette managed to distill my take on this episode perfectly:

"Crap!!!!!!!!"

Oddly, as Variopinta noted, Augustina had the best line of the evening:

"He's adapted so well, it's like he's part of the family."

I wonder if she meant it to be as clever as it sounded?

Ever since Abraham announced that Miriam was dead, I think we almost all assumed that she was not and yet her reappearance nonetheless something of a shock.

Though I'm still collecting my thoughts about these sudden turn of events, I did see a positive side to Miriam's and Abraham's arrival:

Caridad.

Carlos

LOL Dr. Carlos! I see that you would hire Nurse Caridad to join your staff. ;-) Is ther anyone in our cast that we could pair her up with? Maybe Aaron? I feel like we always pair him with the spare ladies, although not New Girl, aka La Secre.

Cathyx- I'm trying to remember who else in this tn was too weak health-wise to hear the truth. Refresh my memory. I still think Abe is exaggerating to save his own skin for all the reasons Anon207 mentioned-- he's going to be in big trouble with the little sister he adores when she finds out what he did while she was in coma. And he must also be facing some career/legal troubles because of this whole mess.

Dan could probably file charges against him. If he makes Dan stick to the story he created for Miriam (Dan was by your side the whole time until a few weeks/months ago when he went to Mex to clear up this inheritance thing and didn't leave me contact info), then Dan is less likely to press charges and raise a stink.

Anon 3:24 am here.

I think I just forgot to sign, but maybe I was a wee bit embarrassed to be posting when I should've been sleeping.

wow kat! awesome recap of a truly horrible episode. How much suffering can Cam take? This is too much. I haven't commented in a while but some comments from annons are disturbing. We love on this forum and politics and hate not welcome.
Thanks UA for addressing it. That been said, I believe Abram has been Dionisio's partner all along. He contacted Dionisio first, Omar passed the message along. Theresa and Dante searched for him in Chile. His office told him they were looking for him. He never liked Dan,he believed he was a gold digger. I feel sorry for Miriam but her husband has replaced her with Cam in his heart. That usually happens when a spouse dies. Pablo is a true gentleman. No wonder his dad loves him.

Olive

Vivi, true, there wasn't another time when the truth was kept from someone for health reasons on this TN, but it was kept for 'safety' reasons, which is still bogus, at least in this circumstance. And I'm referring to not telling Cam about Dan's true ID and Amanda not telling Nat that Dion was her dad.

Oh my God! Where to begin?! I’m posting this comment before reading the recap—I’ve read most everyone else’s comments so ready to put my two cents in.

What a mess!! I can’t see any way out of it except for Miriam to die. If Dan tells Miriam that he’s in love with Cam and Miriam steps aside, Cam and Dan would feel guilty for the rest of their lives. I suppose the writers could do a complete 180 and have Dan fall back in love with Miriam and Cam fall in love with Mariano. Of course, Dan could break up with Miriam and she take solace with Dante and fall for him. What a mess!!!

From what I saw of Pablo last night and his past, I don’t think NG is going to come between Luz and him. He’s been such a standup man all along and I don’t see that changing. I think NG is going to be in a triangle with Iago and Nat. I think Iago is going to hook up with her, or even fall in love with her, and if Nat’s pregnant . . . What a mess!! I also think that Nat is desperate to stay with Iago because for her making love is what you do when you are in love and that means commitment. She just won’t believe that he’s not going to commit to her. At least the writers haven’t made her pregnant after doing it the first time. I’m assuming they’ve had regular relations. She might have gotten pregnant the first time, but at least it wasn’t made obvious. I hope this is the last pregnancy, though Cam is probably pregnant. If that’s so, then Ileana better not turn up pregnant—or do the fake pregnancy thing. I also think that Nat being pregnant is her drama, and that’s why the writers had her distance herself from Dio—that’s not her drama (at least right now).

My heart broke for Cam when she was in the kitchen. I kept wondering why her mother wasn’t hugging her. I kept yelling at her to hug your daughter who has a shattered heart instead of talking smack, which I’m sure she was doing. Where is Vivi, I wanted her to run to Vivi?

If Teresa is so stalkery, why didn’t she try and hook up with Mariano when she first came to town? I know she was busy with Dan’s issue, but still. It seems like they’ve changed the character to fit the storyline.

Miriam didn’t seem to like holding her baby. But to give her credit, she may not be allowed to. My ex-mother-in-law couldn’t hold by ex-husband for the first six months because of a brain operation she had right after he was born.

I’m also on the side of the Anons identifying themselves. Don't be afraid. And keeping all political remarks out of the comments unless it pertains to the story—and in this case that would be Mexican and/or Chilean.

I know there was more I wanted to say except my mind’s gone blank. I’m sure it will come to me the moment I post.

Now to the rest of the comments and Kat’s I know already excellent recap.

Nanette

This is why I was mad yesterday. Maybe her doesn't deserve murder but I so badly wanted Daniel to punch Abraham in his smug grin. And then remind the jerk that once Miriam is stronger, she's going to find out the whole truth about what her beloved brother did to her more beloved (and much sexier) husband. The good thing about this "weakness" is that she really shouldn't travel back to Chile until she's stronger. Strong enough to hear the truth and fall for Dante. Maybe then she can knock her brother's lights out. He deserves it, that lying liar who lies.

Theme for this novela: Truth can be hard but it's still better than not truth.

Given that these writers don't always follow convention, is it possible that Natalia just has the flu?

Kelly

Nanette- I was worries that they might have to kill off Miriam to make this work, but don't forget Dante! He's in Mexico for a reason. He has to be.

kelly

Olive: "We love on this forum and politics and hate not welcome."--eloquently said.

Kelly: I hope you're right about Dante.

Confession time: I found myself not liking Miriam (and it didn't help when she kept handing the baby off to the nurse like she did--as if she was saying "get this crying, smelly thing away from me). I know it's because she's inadvertently caused heartache for Cam (still not a big Dan fan). It has nothing to do with her personally and is completely unfair. :)

Kelly- "Theme for this novela: Truth can be hard but it's still better than not truth."

Cathyx- Yep. As Kelly said, they have shown us in this tn time and again, that even if you lie to protect a person (Dan and the Scoobies with Camila; and Amanda and Nat), it will come out eventually and might just hurt the person more than had you told them the truth to begin with. I think the writers agree with you that it was a bogus excuse that Dan used when he kept the truth from Cami so long to "protect" her. We all saw that it was also about not wanting to face her wrath and have her be mad at him.

One more thought. Did Cayetano and his lawyer mean to put monthly payments in a trust for Rocio or a lifetime's worth of alimony? Because now that she knows Hissy is involved, she should get a good lawyer and make sure a big, fat trust is created for her and that the D.F. house is immediately put into her name. Rocio could actually come out ahead in all this. (Of course it's her fault that all this is happening, but she won't care).

Kelly

I was reminded that Miriam grew up rich, and likely with a nanny who took care of her needs, as she handed off the baby to the nurse for changing and holding. But I think it also has to do with her still recovering and also being tired from the long journey.

I forgot to comment about Nat's potential pregnancy. I'm pretty sure she's pregnant and not sick, this is the typical way TNs do this. I know Nat is a naive country girl, but she's also somewhat educated. This is another thing that really irks me with TNs. This complete lack of any understanding about having unprotected sex and getting pregnant by young women. Yes, don't tell me how girls are brought up in Mexico, I already know. They aren't told about how to avoid an unwanted pregnancy, but they sure seem to know about having sex. Don't the men get any education about this either? Don't answer that either, I already know the answer to that too. For a culture who frowns upon abortion, they don't seem to frown upon unwed sex.

Sorry for my bad mood. I didn't get enough sleep last night and now Miriam's back, and Dan so far has gone along with the lie. I need a nap.

I don't think there was much contact between Abe and El Diablo between the escape and more recent events. There was a long stretch before El Diablo knew Daniel was alive and well and living among them and by the time they talked Abe still didn't know that Daniel was alive. Neither is particularly trusting, so this was El Diablo's first real opportunity to take advantage of the situation.

Cathy, someone posted a while back that birth control is not only available in Mexico, it's available free. The unprotected sex thing is a hold-over from older stories and older attitudes. Like Gussie's.

I wanted to slap her flat during this episode. Her remark about "one of the family" was meant as a dig at Daniel. Until and unless she realizes that she is married to the devil she will not see that Daniel has been trying to protect her and Camila from him.

We know that El Diablo is looking to conquer Camila and Daniel knows that. Camila might even know that now; remember her cringing at his touch on her wedding day. However, telling Gussie would be useless because she is the most delusional character of all and would never believe it.

I'm not even sure she would believe it if she saw him try.

On a more amusing note, I can't wait to see what El Diablo will do when he finds out that he's about to graduate to the status of Abuelo.

I think we have a spare guy

Mariano
Rodolfo
Dante
Yago
Aaron

Teresa
Natalia
Miriam
Illeana

Nobody deserves Yago o Ileana, so I think they belong together.

Seems like Aaron might end up a bachelor. Maybe we should count the secy.

I’ll come right out and say that I can’t stand Miriam. Her lisp. Her prissy clothes. Her prissy attitude. Her prissy non-involvement with her baby. Her utter cluelessness of kissing Daniel when he wasn’t kissing her back. Her utter cluelessness of saying in front of the people who used to own the ranch, ‘oh wow, so now this place is now all mine, I mean, my husband’s?’ And her utter cluelessness and obvious insincerity that no one has even smiled at her and she’s saying how nice you all are. Yeah, sure.

If her health is so fragile, someone please explain to me how she just took what must be at least a 12 hour flight from Chile to Mexico with a newborn. Even with an army of attendants, that would take the mustard out of anyone, yet her she is, arriving with phony smile, full on make up, hose and heels. A trip that she didn’t even have to make, but did just for the fun of surprising her husband? Yeah, sure.

Poor Camila. What a mess. I would have liked to see her fight for Dan right from the moment Miriam stepped out of the cab, and walked with him up to greet her, but she was too shocked to move I suppose. It was a very well done dramatic scene that way they did it, but I think what we are going to see now is all kinds of lies to protect Miriam and Camila would have had the opportunity to be upfront if she had acted right then.

This whole turn of events has me in a foul mood, though I certainly enjoyed the recap. Thank you, 5 footer!

Carolina: Loved all of your comment. Interesting take on Miriam--though she didn't seem that way when we first knew her--however, we didn't get that many scenes with her before. And I would have thought if she was that way after three years of marriage Dan wouldn't have still been so besotted with her. I like your take better, would like to see Miriam turn into a villain so our heroes don't feel like jerks when her heart gets broken, I'm just seeing some obstacles to that idea.

Good work Kat! that was a tough episode any way you slice it, but you did a bang-up job covering all this tragedy. So they let the kat out of the bag on your watch. I was (wrongly, as usual) predicting they would string us along 'til the weekend.

I'm witholding comments about the Miriam/Abe/Dio plot because I never saw the beginning episodes, so can't quite form an opinion, but please everybody, keep all the remarks coming. I don't really have time to go back and read up on the intrigue, so everybody's take on the details helps clarify a lot.

I, too, took an immediate dislike to Miriam and it's most likely because I came late to this TN. Last night was the first time I saw her and she seemed like a possessive interloper. Nothing wrong with the acting, she played it to the hilt. I realize she WAS Daniel's amor de su vida, and that she has presented him with offspring, but to me, he belongs to Cami. Said offspring was quite husky & mature even for a preemie. I understand that casting newborns is problematic, but this one looked as if she was getting ready to walk!

And speaking of possessive interlopers, I'm with Ana about Mariano's former amor de su vida. Whoah, slow down there, Tere!

Gussie behaved exactly as expected. She WILL get hers when it's payback time, but I'm sure her anvil will be softened, because she's such a lame-brained ditz, she can hardly help herself with all that crude venality.

And not knowing anything about Mexican property law, I hope that Rocio—as much as I despise this character, I pity her more—isn't completely without rights. In this country, I'm fairly certain the courts would look askance at such a sudden transfer of joint property. Trusts that are set up to protect assets from taxes for instance require a long-waiting period for eligibility.

Right on Carolina; I felt exactly the same way -- you've captured my feelings about her word for word ...to be fair though, she's only been back 1/2 hour ....

Myo-

It's not clear if BV was jointly owned. Maybe Caye inherited it from his father, and owned it in his own name, intending to pass it down to his sons. Rocio may not have her name on the deed, if she did, Caye wouldn't be able to sign it over to someone else without her signature too.

In the beginning it was clear that Miriam really loved Dan-- enough so to go against her brother and to live a modest life on Dan's salary. She also didn't seem to work, but didn't seem like an idle person. She appeared to be a nice woman capable of loving deeply, and deeply loved by family, friends, and her husband. The one thing she was uncompromising about was living outside of Chile or Santiago-- I remember that attitude rubbed some viewers the wrong way. She was active (jogged with Dan), over the moon about becoming a mother because she and Dan had been trying a few years, and was also brave (went after the detective Don Dan sent to take pitcures of Daniel). All things we've heard about her from Dante and Rafa is that she was/is a good and lovely woman. I don't see her turning into a villain.

I can't see Mexican property law being any different, but there is also the issue of chicanery within the justice system.

As for Miriam, LXV, she was nice in the early episodes. She went against family and cultural influence to marry Daniel. He was a step down the social ladder and he wasn't rich in addition to not being Jewish from birth. She defended him against Abe's later accusations of being a fortune hunter. Had he been any of the things he wasn't from that list Abe might not have had a problem with him.

She was strong enough to wrestle a camera away from the male private investigator who was trying to photograph Daniel when they went running together.

These two things add up to her being a woman of strength and courage. Like Camila.

The bullet landed above her heart and probably just below the collar bone. Since she was pregnant at the time the doctors would have had to have been very careful with how they treated her wounds and what drugs they would use. Why she went into a coma is a mystery unless she has some chronic disease nobody knows about.

Cathy, I think Cayetano's father owned BV before him. Rocio's family owned the house in D.F., but Cayetano bailed them out financially.

Urban Anthropologist, interesting and plausible explanation for brother Abraham's actions. If you were a TN writer, you'd have to take something like that and then say, "How can we make this less coherent?" :)

Thank you for the recaps. When I can't watch, I COUNT ON the recaps!

Not sure Rafa is going to be on board with adopting Roman. We know that’s what Vivi is going to want to do.

“Ana fills Roman in on this Teresa skank who's trying to get with her dad and didn't like her mom. She doesn't know what she'll do if her dad starts dating Teresa, but she'd rather go live with anyone else than have to live with that skank who didn't want her parents to get married. That's right, Teresa…it's on now!”—so I take it that’s a direct quote?

I get that Caye wants to punish Rocio and she does deserve it, but she did give him two sons and they seemed to be happy until Isa came along, so I’m not on board with Caye being one of those despicable husbands who hide their money during a divorce so their families can’t get any of it. He deserves everything Isa is going to do to him.

I’m sorry, but is it likely that Dan would forget to give his forwarding address to Abe when his wife is in a seriously injured, pregnant and in a coma?!!!

Miriam is definitely not a villain. Which really makes this a more interesting triangle. How to make this come out with all the good guys winning in the end?

TNs don’t work on the same timeline as American soaps, which have the cliffhangers on Fridays. American soaps, unless it’s an emergency, work around interruptions to their regularly scheduled programming. It doesn’t seem like the TNs do.

And not only Daniel wasn't returning her kisses; but he didn't tell her that he loves her when she said "I love you Daniel" as least 3 times. I know Daniel was completely in shock but his reaction towards her was colder than I expected.

That was the best recap EVER! It made me LOL as i was reading it at 2am. My favorite part? "Wanker"! I love that word, and also the comment about the "ankle of doom". Dude, I love this blog.

Poor Cami, I cried right along with her! Stupid Abe, look at what his lies and hate caused! What a mess!

PS:Kelly, will you be my friend? Your comments are always so clever!

Nanette, you said: "I’m sorry, but is it likely that Dan would forget to give his forwarding address to Abe when his wife is in a seriously injured, pregnant and in a coma?!!!"

Daniel would have never given his forwarding address to Abe because Abe abuse of his position to put Dan in prison and told Dan that Miriam had died. Dan later escaped from prison and had no contact with Chile until Dante arrived in Mexico during his wedding ...

Myo-

Thanks UA & ViviDC, I knew Miriam couldn't be a bad guy because she had the impressive qualifications of having been the love of our hero's life. And I'm the interloper here, coming in late, but I felt forced to take sides last night. the scene was played exquisitely to create the discomfort we're all feeling. yikes, how are they going to get out of this one. I hope we don't have the "convenient" death of Miriam who we're told is in delicate health. That would be too much of a cop-out. We have months to untangle this yet. And I guess the extended honeymoon scenes were extended in anticipation of this.

I don’t think Miriam will turn into a villain. But I do think she may have been meant to annoy us, like she sure did to me. All along she has seemed to lack personality to me. I felt like we were just told that Dan loves her, rather than shown a reason why. I don’t see any spark to her, no sense of humor or wit, and so much of the prissy, prissy, prissy (barf) in sharp contrast to down-to-earth Camila. I think the writers meant for us in Viewerville to love Camila and to love Dan-n-Cam together. We were not meant love Miriam but to feel guilty because she hasn’t done anything to merit anything bad happening to her.

Nanette: "I’m sorry, but is it likely that Dan would forget to give his forwarding address to Abe when his wife is in a seriously injured, pregnant and in a coma?!!!" LOL!!!

HelleShelle, That gorgeous waterfall is Agua Azul and I know that you can go swimming there because I have. :) I’m all in favor of Dan in a swim suit anytime, anywhere.

If anyone else needs some cheering up today, try this:

Thanks 5ft, you got it all.
I agree renata770, Dan was cold! Even if in shock. He didn't seem at all happy Miriam was actually alive. I also thought Miriam was styled kind of strangely with that lace, heavy makeup, she was looking older than the Miriam of the credits and of my memory.
Big LOL moment at the beginning of the epi, tho: Isa to Cayetano, it was love at first sight/amor de primera vista. Yeah, right.
Clara

In defense of Miriam, she was madly in love with Daniel and he with up til about a year ago when the hit job was done. She's been in a coma & was told her beloved husband (who loves her very much) has been by her side every day and the only reason he left her side was to claim this inheritance in Mexico (which she already knew about).

Fact is, if Abraham had never thrown Daniel in jail, he WOULD HAVE been by Miriam's side every day since the shooting. Everything Abe told Miriam is in line with what Daniel would have done, had he been allowed the chance to do it.

While I agree Abe is conducting these lies so his sister won't find out the truth about him, I also think he's mentally wacked in the head. I believe the guilt of what he did to Daniel & Miriam was eating at him (as well as Miriam constantly asking for Daniel).

If Abe has been telling Miriam that Daniel's been by her side every day until "recently" when he went to claim the inheritance, Miriam must have just recently (within the past month or two) woken up from the coma. Abe could hide the truth as long as Miriam stayed in the coma, but now that she's woken up, he's got some 'splainin' to do.

If Miriam just woke up, Caridad is probably the primary caretaker of the baby anyway.

Here's the deal with Teresa & Mariano:

Teresa was career oriented; Mariano was family oriented & wanted to settle down; Teresa didn't. They broke up.

When men are ready to settle down, they settle down. Mariano meets Ana Maria, he wants to settle down, she wants to settle down, boom they got married.

Teresa was pissed after having a long relationship w/Mariano but getting replaced in 4 months.

Now 12 years later, she's lurking around Mariano again, but it's not going to work (again) because:

1) We've seen no evidence Teresa wants to settle down

2) Teresa still is about her career; she doesn't seem like she'd want to live the ranch life*

3) Ana doesn't like her

4) Mariano is in love with Camila*.

I really don't think Mariano would get with Teresa, even if he thought he'd have no chance with Camila ever again. They're too different.

*Camila is about her career too, but her career is about the ranch, not city life.

Anon207, I think you've nailed it for both couples.

I understand Miriam's actions but I just don't like her personality and I think she was being very dense and not picking up clues that were staring her in the face. But that is a TN for you, I suppose.

I'm a Cam fan; I'm much more like her than I am like Miriam. It seems to me that you are either one type of woman or the other.

Carolina you took the words out of my mouth, "this whole thing with Miriam has me in a foul mood".

I can't think of one good reason why Dan would go along with any plan construed by Abe? (to protect Miriam in her fragile state doesn't cut it with me)

I'm sure I'll change my mind later because like Cami and Miriam I am in love with Dan. However, right now I'm dissappointed in him because he's allowing the situation with Miriam to esculate because he was unable to "think on his feet" so to speak. Oh well, good thing he has the ScoobyDoo team. They will no doubt intervene and help him figure out how to handle this.

Thanks for the recap Five Ft. Whew, what a kick in the ass this episode was! First, I don't think the writers will leave Camila in single motherhood while Dan and Miriam exit to Chile. In Cuando me Enamoro, the writers did a pretty good job of setting Geronimo and the woman he got pregnant just before marrying Renata to share custody. Yes, she died ultimately, but the idea of that sort of arrangement was planted and may be used in AB. Don't know.

I'm having a hard time getting through my rage at Dionisio and Abraham, not only for what they've done to Dan & Camila, but for the royal screw-job set up they have created with "Oh don't give Miriam any bad news. She may go back into a coma." May they both rot in hell.

I haven't been bored with this novela at all, but as of right now, boredom isn't even a possibility.

Foxy, understand your frustration, but in all fairness to Dan, Miriam has been in Mexico for less than 1/2 hour--she recently woke up from a long-term coma and gave birth to a child--her world remains completely unchanged even if Abe did not perpetuate the lie about Dan being at her side.

I'm giving Dan the time needed to ask pertinent questions and have Abe clarify everything before accusing him of keeping up the lie.

I wonder how we would have judged him if he just came out and said-Hi Miriam glad you're not dead but I stopped loving you after our 3 wonderful years together in less than 3 months and fell in love and just got married; in fact we just got back from our honeymoon and all this happened because your jerk-of-a brother deny me access to you while in coma; put me in jail without help and told me that you were dead.

Let’s take a deep breath … let the story play out….

Myo-

Another thing about La Malquerida:

Isa thinks she is cute/is greedy by bringing Rocio's affair/paternity secret with Daniel Monterde to light because all she did was bring on one more heir (Pablo) to Malquerida.

And Dionicio thinks he's funny by bringing but all he did was bring on two more heirs to La Malquerida...Miriam & Agatha.

Dona Gringuita- And remember how difficult the CME situation was (they could have kept her alive because they had all made peace with each other and had a plan for shared custody), and in that situation the galan didn't even love the woman or had made a real commitment to her (one time on a desk). This situation is SOOOO much worse because of who Miriam was and is (since she's still his legal wife) to Dan. The writers are going to have a heck of a time with this and wring the last bit of misery out of our main couple.

Myo- ITA. We can't judge Dan harshly by how he's reacted in the first half hour since his dead wife showed up with his assumed dead child. No way would someone have blurted out right then that they had remarried and moved on. He's just trying to figure out what the heck happened and what the heck Abe has told her.

5 ft, I also loved the line about the "ankle of doom"!

I didn't think that Miriam was dressed as strangely as Dan. What was up with the fancy schmancy charro suit and sombrero? I liked the touch of Dan dropping his hat at the same time his jaw was dropping, but he could just have easily dropped a cowboy hat.

I think Dan's "coldness" to Miriam underscores the fact that he is a serial monogamist and Cam is his woman at the moment.

I really have to put on my beanie for the Miriam coma thing. I was actually in a coma for a few hours in 2009. I had a subarachnoid hemorrhage. Luckily, the EMTs came for me in 3 and a half minutes, and I had surgery (aneursysm coiling) the same night. I woke up the next morning with double vision and loss of balance. I only needed a few sessions of physical therapy to recover. But the tiredness persisted for months. I understand that when the brain is healing from a traumatic injury, it consumes the lion's share of your body's resources.

So I understand Miriam's extreme tiredness, but not her lack of "deficits" or lack of need for physical therapy.

Aleta

I actually did think Dan was getting little testy with Abe in the living room there, but he was so over his head and out of his depth that his pointed remarks were shushed over by Abe's "meaningful" glances. Kudos to the acting/directing teams for making this one of the most effective, if uncomfortable, scenes yet.

Myo: my remark about Dan not leaving his forwarding address was in reference to Abe telling Miriam that he forgot to do that and that is why she had to figure out where he was.

I'm with whoever remarked that Miriam took an awfully long trip for one in such a delicate state.

I've decided to like Miriam. I think it will lead to a more interesting viewing, if I'm conflicted.

Oh Agnes/LXV- Dan was definitely giving Abe "the look" a few times, while at the same time trying to not alarm Miriam, AND being fascinated by his baby, oh, and trying to get a handle on what was going on with Cami and dodge Gussy's cutting remarks. He was dealing with a LOT all at the same time.

Aleta, save this sentence; you'll pat yourself in the back later "I think Dan's "coldness" to Miriam underscores the fact that he is a serial monogamist and Cam is his woman at the moment." ....

I know nothing about coma or coma patients but Abe might exagerate a bit thinking that Dan will blindly believe his BS.

Talking about aneyrism--In 1992, my brother and I got a call from Haiti around 10pm that my mom was taken to the hospital due to any aneyrism;she died 2 hrs later and was 45 years. Unfortunately for me, I too suffer from high blood pressure and in the last year my doctor has been monitoring me regularly. I turned 44on the 28th-- scary approching 45 ...

Nanette--apologize--that flew right over my head--I see your point.

Myo

Myo: no need to apologize. Sometimes I don't type what I want to say as clearly as I think it in my head.

Nanette,

Miriam's recovery and the birth of little Agatha:

high point?

low point?

Carlos

I'm trying to tie things up all happy go lucky style, the way TNs do, but this TN has done such a good job of going for the unexpected that I don't know where that territory lies. I'm kinda hoping Miriam is a Isa/Dio casualty (which is so mean, I know!), but there're a lot of loving galans out there that could fall for her and vice versa, so I think she'll survive.

Variopinta/Carlos - I think Caridad is there to tie up loose galan ends. Otherwise, why make her so young and attractive and with such bright, noticeable hair?

They did try to use the ol' "too delicate for harsh news" story with Al, but Cam was like "hahahaha! No."

I forgot to mention the very formal charro suit Dan changed into when they got back from the honeymoon-- like the heroine usually changes her "look" after a significant change in her life, I think that's what Dan wearing a formal charro suit daily like Don Daniel did means. He has totally gone native. He has not only married the patrona, but has also become the patron. He is Don Daniel II. I just when that happens, here comes his past!

This was a Friday episode in Mexico because their pattern of pre-emption wouldn't be the same as ours. They may have pre-empted for a holiday we don't observe and vice-versa. I'm just imagining the first audience freaking about this all weekened until Monday.

Daniel needs to confront Abe.

Miriam needs to know that her attacker is dead, although that is now the least of her nightmares.

Gussie needs someone else to tell her to stay out of Camila's business. We all know that no matter what she said in last night's episode she won't be able to follow through on it.

We can assume that La Malquerida is now in both Camila and Daniel's names. What does this mean going forward?

When Mariano hears about this he's going to come running to La Malquerida.

Great point, Vivi. Now does that mean he will also be a Don Juan?

HellaShelle- That's right. Cam's attitude at the time was, "the hell I'm going to delay my divorce just because this jerk might have a heart attack." That was very satisfying.

Carlos: I won't make you wait. Baby-HP; Miriam being alive--LP

UA, actually this was a Tuesday episode in Mexico and they don’t usually preempt TN’s for holidays or elections or special news – por nada –in my years of following Mexican TN’s; they’ve only preempted once during a showing of “Refugio para el Amor” when the Pope visited them last year—that show usually aired at 4pm—the coverage of the Pope ate the timing …

Myo

Urban- Well, he has two women like Don Daniel did-- una Mejicana y la otra una Chilena. Don Daniel loved one woman, but stayed with the other out of obligation. Will Dan do the same?

I don't count Rocio too much. Don Dan had been a widow for a while and both his dead wife and his true love Agatha had been out of the picture a number of years. A man has needs, and Rocio was offering...

Carlos: I agonized over where to put Miriam since I saw the avances of her returning. She's not on the LP list because she's alive, but because she's going to be a big obstacle in the way of our heroes getting together. And I could never put a baby on the low points list, especially a cutie pie like Agatha. Can you tell I'm feeling horrible and guilty?

FIVE FEET OF DELIVERER OF SO SAD NEWS.

Only have one comment--This episode was tougher on Dan than Camila. Camila can cry her heart out, she has her mother, Viv, Rafa and the rest of the Scooby Gang. Dan is in a terrible quandry.

For us the dilemma is like the old old fairy tale (or was it Aesop's fable) of Daniel, are you going to pick door number one (former love of your life/wife + darling baby) or door number two (the current love of your life/wife + Mexican citizenship and maybe a baby after).

Is this what is going to take 40 more episodes to resolve? Grrit my teeth and bear it--I'm doing this ONLY for Cristian de la Fuente and Silvia Navarro...I want you all to KNOW THIS!

Ok, maybe two comments. Thank you 5Ft, for a remarkably straightforward recap. Now I have to read all 91 comments ahead of mine. Salud and see you later.

Anita- Won't Dan have the support of the Scoobies too? And I wouldn't call Gussy an asset for Camila...

But yes, Dan has been put in a terrible situation. He will hurt one or both of these women that he cares about, no matter what he does.

Kat: I forgot to tell you what a great recap. Such an explosive ep and you got it all down for us. And, of course, always like to see Mr. 5 Ft's input.

5ft - Thanks for all the details and the laughs. I struggled with what Abe was saying but you filled it all in. Some of my favorites:

"He says he's too old to wait, so he's jumping her now, before the Viagra isn't enough."

"Could the casting people at least TRY to cast infants for infant roles?!"

"Can we just have a random bull stampede through the living room and take out Abraham, like, NOW?! Like, RIGHT NOW?!"

I still like Miriam. But goodness she should've hired a detective, put an ad in the local Aculco paper, etc. when she woke up from the coma.

Can't help but root for Rocio against Cayetonto and Isadora. Rocio's the only one smart enough in the Albarran family to know how stoopid Cayetonto is.

I guess Rafa will add a new chapter to his novel.

Although a wet Dan (at the river, early on) is something to behold, I'm glad the writers didn't use the mandatory TN cliché of the couple in the water. Almost every TN has such a scene and it's gotten old.

Abe can redeem himself by solving the case of the attempted murder of Dan, which resulted in Miriam getting shot. He should find out it was Dionisio who ordered it. I don't think he is in "cahoots" with Dio on anything other than agreeing not to tell that it was Dio who told him Daniel is alive. He seems to be genuinely conflicted about what he's had to do to keep Miriam safe and alive. True, he threw Dan in jail, but he was blinded by his dislike of him and wouldn't listen to reason at the time. When Miriam came out of the coma and told him what happened, he must've felt some guilt at what he did to Dan. However, by that time he really believed Daniel was dead, so he didn't think he could do anything about it. After his phone conversation with Dio he said to himself "now maybe I can save myself" - I think he meant that now he could reunite his sister with her husband. If Dionisio told him Dan and Cam had just married, he probably figured they could fix that by simply showing up with his wife and child. Of course, he doesn't know Camila, so he wouldn't know the Cam/Dan relationship. Selfishly (again) he was just thinking of how to get himself out of the mess.

Love how easily Pablo falls into being the supportive cousin. He is always ready to do for others even though he is also suffering.

Dan is really confused. As someone mentioned, he is a monogamous man and before he married Camila he had "talked" to Miriam and put her firmly in his past. Now, she's here and he doesn't know what to feel. I remember once when he was talking to Camila about his father's absence he said he could NEVER leave his child. Nor would Camila expect him to, but his feelings for Miriam are definitely not what they were.

Niecie, haha, that book isn't done yet after all. No happily ever after.

One more--
People like Gussy just don't know when to shut up. They don't care about the effect on the other person, they just have to get their thoughts, impressions, opinions out there--preferrably first.

Vivi--I don't think Gussy is an asset, but for Camila, this is all the family she has left. She thought she was going to start a new family with Dan, but that is gone in a flash. She and Gussy settled their differences and agreed to disagree, but the emotional ties are there. Camila WANTS a mother. We'll see if Gussy is up to the job.

Niecie: "Can't help but root for Rocio against Cayetonto and Isadora. Rocio's the only one smart enough in the Albarran family to know how stoopid Cayetonto is."--so true.

"I guess Rafa will add a new chapter to his novel."--so funny.

Nanette,

Thanks.

Now I'm trying to decide if INCONVENIENT best applies to Miriam and Agatha or to Camila.

Carlos

Carlos- Maybe Dan is the inconvenient one...although Camila says he's VERY useful.

Carlos: Can't top Vivi's comment.

Flaco brought up about the sleeping arrangements. Hopefully, Miriam has been told she can’t engage in relations with her husband. We also think that Dan should encourage Abe and Miriam to stay in town closer to a doctor. But then Miriam would expect Dan to move into town with them. Could he use the commute being a problem as an excuse? This is a big mess.

Low point about Miriam's return -- listening to Laura Pausini

I don't think Abe knew that Daniel and Camila got married. I think El Diablo withheld that information to further encourage his own amusement.

This situation puts Daniel in a very painful position. I agree with the comment that he doesn't feel the same about Miriam as he did before. However, even if Miriam picks up on that and can accept it we know that he would meet with opposition from Gussie, El Diablo, and Camila's own sense of guilt.

Rafael might see this as an interesting new chapter for his book, but I doubt he will interfere. He might listen to Daniel as they consume a bottle of Jose Cuervo, but he knows that this is Daniel's issue to resolve. Although I could see him discussing this with Viviana.

I don't know that Dante would necessarily see this as an opportunity, since he did tell others that Miriam never felt that way about him.

renata770, I completely agree.

Am I in a minority re: Laura Pausini? I like her.

Miriam had first dibs on Dan, so it's only fair that she gets him in the end. Not saying I want that to happen, but she didn't do anything wrong. And they have a child together.
I think she will pick up on Dan's change in feelings toward her. If she thinks that he's been sitting by her bed the whole time and only left to claim his inheritance, she has to wonder why he isn't as in love with her as he used to be.

Nanette- I don't mind Laura P. I like the two songs by her that they have for Miriam way more than the En Nombre del Amor theme song she did. That one made my ears hurt-- I can still hear the tortured first screams.."en cambio yo!!!"...and see her screeching at the screen clutching that chain link fence. It does bug me that the primary words of Miriam's love song reminds us that Dan will jamas abandonarla.

Vivi: I like that song that makes your ears bleed. It's why I bought the CD. :)

Speaking of music (UA, you might appreciate this): my favorite piece of classical music? Nessun Dorma by Puccini--and I've never seen an opera.

Late chiming in here...awesome recap and comments, everyone.

I like Laura Pausini's music. I even like "En Cambio No", although I hated the video that went with it in the ENDA credits. I play it and sing along when I'm in the car alone.

I do not in any way, shape, or form like the "Sexy Smile" song. That is where I draw the musical line.

LOL Julia! Dammit! Now the Sexy Smile song is in my head. I prefer En Cambio No.

Elle- Thanks! That's nice to hear. This is a great group of people considering no one has ever met in person. I could get ahead since I watch online but would rather not.

Snarking at the tv while all alone= sad
Snarking with a group of internet friends= way fun

Totally agree (for now) with giving Dan and Miriam a break. He did just find out that his dead wife and child are not so dead. And she did just come out of a coma and gave birth. Give this time to soak in and they'll get it worked out. We just don't like Miriam because Dan and Cam are just so darned great together. And once again, #$@% you, Abraham, for making our charro man and his mujer sad.

Kelly

Of course Agustina would say something like that she's crazy and delusional.

What does yago have to do with all this?
